Quick starting note to those reading this on release day, Happy Pokemon Day, I've been holding off on finishing this arc and starting the second half of the rocket arc, waiting to hear more on Pokemon Legends: ZA, hopefully we got something good as I'm writing this before the actual presentation.

"Hello everyone and welcome to the exhibition match for this tournament." Don George announced from the center of the arena. "Our winning trainer is none other than this years Unova Junior League Champion Ash Ketchum, and his match will be against none other than our current champion Iris!"

Ash and Iris entered the stadium from opposite sides, meeting in the middle.

"Thank you in advance for this match." Ash said confidently.

"Don't sound too confident, you are just a kid after all." Iris teased.

"We're like the same age." Ash argued.

"Maybe, but only one of us is the actual champion." Iris said. "Good luck, you'll need it." She added before heading to her starting position.

"Alright Pikachu, no holding back at all, got it?" Ash said, as they walked to their side of the arena.

"Pi!" Pikachu said in agreement from Ash's shoulder, sparks already flying from his cheeks.

"Alright I want a good clean match. There will be no substitutions at any time and when one of your Pokemon is unable to continue battling, the match will end." Don George explained. "Do I need to explain anything else to either of you."

"We're all set." Ash said stretching a little.

"Good over her. Now come on out Haxorus!" Iris exclaimed.

"Pikachu, I choose you!" Ash called out. "Use Thunderbolt!"

"Haxorus use Dragon Dance!"

Pikachu fired off a bolt of lightning, shooting across the arena as Haxorus danced, taking the hit with relative ease.

"Alright, Pikachu use Charge Beam!"

"Haxorus use Dragon Dance!"

Pikachu fired off a small beam of static, striking Haxorus as the dragon was getting faster and faster.

"Georgia, you're the expert on fighting dragon types, what do you think are Ash and Pikachu's chances here?" Rosa asked.

"I'm not sure, using Dragon Dance this early, she has to have a plan." Georgia commented.

"Pikachu use another Charge Beam!"

"Haxorus use Dragon Dance!"

Pikachu fired off a beam of static, only for Haxorus to easily move out of the way of the attack.

"Just as we planned. Haxorus use Outrage!"

"Pikachu dodge it with Quick Attack!"

Pikachu sped around the battlefield at his top speed, trying to outspeed Haxorus to no avail as the axe dragon struck him, sending him flying.

"Pikachu!" Ash called out.

"Pi." Pikachu said getting up.

"Haxorus use Earthquake!"

Haxorus moved slightly before sparks of electricity arched across their body, stopping their movement.

"Static, thats good, but we're going to need more if we're going to win." Ash said. "Pikachu I need you to use Thunderbolt and then hit yourself with it!"

"What is his plan?" Cameron asked out loud.

"Same as Mamoswine with eating Ice Shard, he's using it to power up." Dawn said in surprise.

"A risky move considering the consequences, but it could pay off." Brock admitted, watching as Pikachu leapt into his own Thunderbolt, dropping to the ground.

"Not very smart, hitting yourself with your own attack." Iris pointed out. "Now Haxorus use Outrage!"

"Pikachu use Thunderbolt!"

Pikachu pushed himself up off the ground, firing a bolt of electricity that went straight through Haxorus before the dragon pushed forward, striking Pikachu once more.

"Pikachu use Quick Attack!"

Pikachu spun in mid air, bouncing off the side of the arena, launching straight back at the dazed and paralyzed Haxorus, striking them on the head, causing the mighty dragon to stumble.

"Haxorus use Guillotine!"

"Pikachu use Iron Tail!"

Haxorus dove forward, slicing it's axe jaws at Pikachu as the electric type countered with his Iron Tail, the two holding until slowly Haxorus fell to the ground in a heap with a dust cloud shooting out from around it.

"He did it." Elliot said in shock.

"Ash beat a champion." N added in surprise.

"It's about time." Brock commented with a smirk.

"Haxorus is unable to battle, the winner of this exhibition match goes to Ash and Pikachu!" Don George declared.

"Alright Pikachu!" Ash said, picking up his electric type. "It's alright buddy, let it out, I've got you." He whispered, using his aura to help drain off the excess electricity without worrying anyone.

Later that evening

"Brock, I must say whatever you are cooking, it smells delicious." N commented.

"That's Brock for you, you never eat poorly with him around." Ash commented, putting the large number of Pokemon food bowls down.

"Thanks again for inviting us to join you guys." Georgia added, as she, Cameron and Dino helped set up.

"Of course, you three are friends of Ash's, might as well enjoy while we're all here." Dawn said. "Whatever happened to that one boy Trisk?"

"Trip, yeah he's not a big fan of Ash's." Georgia admitted.

"What happened?" Dawn asked.

"I beat him in the first round of the Vertress Conference and he called it lucky and that I shouldn't have gotten the chance to fight in the final match." Ash listed off.

"Well either way we're happy the three of you are joining us." Brock said, as he continued stirring dinner.

"Pika?" Pikachu said, his ears perking up as did Bunneary and Mincinnos.

"What is that?!" Cameron asked as several air ships flew overhead.

"N, please tell me that this is just a resurgent group of your fathers men attacking." Dino said, as the ships flew out over the harbor into the distance.

'No, it's worse, Team Rocket's attack has begun." Ash said with worry.

Yep, going right into the Team Rocket and Abyssal Mirror plot, but don't worry just like with the games now, Megas are coming.
