In the early morning, when singing birds were still in their lovely dreams, a white grey-haired elderly grabbed the handle and pulled the metal gate of a store.
He stepped in gradually and switched on the dim yellow lanterns and slow-moving fans. He took a broom in wood, sweeping away the dust and mopping without a noise, pushing the tables and chairs into positions one by one perfectly.
As the room began to fill with warm sunlight, he cleaned himself with cool water from the tap, raised the towels and cleaned the wooden furniture. Soon, as the birds took their first yawn, the man strolled into the kitchen with a dark blue apron and raised the chicken and pork pieces from the boiling pot. The ignition came from the stove as the heat turned over, and soup began to bubble along with the ingredients.
He took a piece of pickled raw meat and placed it on an oily pan. Sizzling came from the pan it touched, slowly becoming brown after several flips. He grabbed the pork belly and a knife from the holder. Without a moment, they were all cut into slices with absolute size.
With everything set up, he walked out of the traffic streets, and flipped a wooden sign named: "Sanada Ramen is now open."
He read the clear sky of white clouds and grinned with his eyes closed.
"What a new day."

"And there you go, this is our member list!"
Kai wore a cheerful smile, bowed sincerely and handed over an application form to the president of the student council. He took a glance and sighed softly.
His words are so hard to read...and he is the leader of this group?
Also, a batch of juniors set up a club, and their leader is just the same as their age, without any experience. In most cases, there shouldn't be any approval.
"You will be informed when your club application is approved." He said emotionlessly, pulling and throwing the form into the drawer without looking.
"Oh, thank you! Mr President!" Kai exclaimed and the president placed his gaze away, leading them to the entrance silently.

"Woo! That was easier than I thought." Kai took a sigh of relief.
"I have a bad feeling about this, I think we may not..." Morihito murmured and stared back at the closed doors.
"There's nothing to worry about right?" Kai ignored Morihito's sentence. "I can't wait to see what the club looks like when it is done!"
"Uh, yeah..." Morihito frowned with a smile.
Maybe it is better not to tell him.
"Let's be honest, I hate his attitude when he talks." Kiyoshi commented.
"Ugh...I don't like extra lessons...it does nothing good at all." Kai yawned and relaxed his shoulders.
Grrrrrr–
"Looks like someone is hungry." Morihito giggled. Kai munched his lips and gulped.
"It is called 'borborygmi'. A noise made during peristalsis in the intestine generates stomach noises when it occurs." Kiyoshi explained with his eyes shut.
"We should get something to eat! I can't let my stomach wait! Let's eat together, shall we?"
"Sorry Kai, I got something to do today. I'm afraid I can't eat with you two."
"No, that's fine! Where are you going after school?"
"It's my uncle's ramen shop, I haven't paid him a visit for a while since I transferred to Aibo."
"Ramen shop?! Alright! Today's dinner is decided!"
"I have no objections." Kiyoshi replied with a smile. "Mori?"
Oh crap, I shouldn't have told him it is a restaurant...
"Yeah, of course..." Morihito laughed.

"Welcome." The man greeted his customers with a smile.
"Manager, where do I order?" He walked into the shop.
"Ah, you must be new here. There are no machines here. Though it might be a little inconvenient."
"Oh my, my mistake." He giggled embarrassingly. "I would like a bowl of pork (Chashu) ramen."
"Wise choice." The manager smiled with his eyes closed.
"Then, thanks a lot...?" The customer raised his head after the menu. He read every corner but the man was missing.
"He's gone in a flash..." The man mumbled.

"Hey, have you ever wondered what our new members look like? They are going to have different worlds and decks to battle with!" Kai said excitedly, Morihito and Kiyoshi followed him behind. Their Buddy monsters bounced around on the streets.
"Different worlds?" Morihito said.
"There should be nearly a half-half chance to meet other fighters with different worlds than us."
"Only half? Let's see...Mori and I are Dragon World users, Kenji and Makoto are Danger World users, and...how about you?" Kai counted his fingers one by one and stared back at Kiyoshi.
"That's a secret for now. You will know it soon." Kiyoshi giggled.
"Aww man, I wanted to know it so bad...I wonder what other world users are like. Let's say, our school's Star Dragon World users, like commissioner Tasuku, must be so cool!"
"Star Dragon World is supposed to be a future era of Dragon World, which has more advanced technology and civilization." Kiyoshi explained.
"Woah! That's very interesting. There are some relationships between Dragon World and Darkness Dragon World right?"
"Darkness Dragon World is a world full of vicious and evil monsters. They attack their opponents mercilessly and even sacrifice their troops for benefits." Morihito added while looking aside.
"That's a complete opposite...! What about Dungeon World, Ancient World, and..."
"No hurries, I will explain all of them in short." Kiyoshi said.
"Dungeon World has monsters like adventurers and their rivals 'Dungeon Enemies' and 'Demon Lords', just like in video games, the adventurers have to fight and conquer the monsters of the dungeons."
"Or you can even become a demon lord yourself!" Kai added.
"In the Ancient World, it is filled with powerful monsters that are usually large, they take their advantage as a defence fortress to effectively protect the player..." Kiyoshi continued.
Kai's eyes gleamed like stars when Kiyoshi spoke. "Okay, for Legend World, they use monsters that are mostly from mythologies, like Krieger's Balmung!"
"In Norse mythology, Siegfried is a Germanic hero who slays an evil dragon. It feels like it suits Krieger, like his homeland." Kiyoshi explained.
"Then it must be a fate that Krieger met Siegfried." Kai thought.
"Just like us." Blast answered back.
"It always feels like the monsters meeting their buddies are in destiny!" Xander exclaimed. The gang laughed after the words.
My encounter with Lord Kiyoshi...is destiny...? Easton stared at Kiyoshi and read his thoughts.
"I have heard that Buddy abandoning service is a bit complicated, but it is definitely worth a try..."
That's too cruel! Kiyoshi left Easton open-mouthed.
"How many worlds are there in Buddyfight?" Morihito questioned.
"Hmm...there should be ten worlds." Kai held his chin.
"Yeah, indeed. But I wonder if there are other worlds than those ten?" Morihito said.
"That's a deep question, it is quite rare to see a special flag user." Kiyoshi added.
"Special flag user?" Kai asked.
"Like 'Guardians' and 'Executioners'. Although they are relatively unique compared to primary worlds."
"I never knew that!"
"Probably you didn't pay attention in class back on..." Kiyoshi giggled.
"Katana World, are they mostly ninjas and samurai?" Morihito thought.
"Not only that. They are also skilled in sword arts and strategies, which makes them more difficult to use, too. But if the user utilises the powers of monsters and timing to cast abilities, it will be very incredible." Kiyoshi added. "By the way, is that the ramen shop we are looking for?"

A large spoon of soy sauce was poured into the bowl, as well as the reeky broth from the pot. The man took the noodles with chopsticks and placed pieces of meat in round shapes. Finally, a perfectly cut boiled egg into half with shiny half-done yolk and brown skin, and a few paper sheets of flavoured roasted seaweed and green onions sprinkled on the top.
"Chashu Ramen."
He placed the bowl of ramen in front of his customer, who was still tapping on his phone and thanked him with his eyes on the screen.
"Another meeting..."
He murmured and moaned. His dead eyes lost the motivation for anything around him. Meanwhile, he smelled the food on the desk and blinked.
"I should fill my stomach for now." He closed the screen after reading the time.
It looks pretty ordinary.
The man took a fast and large bite of noodles. What followed next did not match his expectations.
Slurp–
The man grabbed the menu from the table next to him.
Such texture and taste at such a price? But how?!
I need another bite to confirm this. I was probably too hungry.
He placed a piece of meat into his mouth and chewed carefully with wide eyes.
Gulp.
The meat dissolved in a soft bite and its juice melted on my tongue as it entered my mouth, the favour spread all around like it was lasting forever. Next up, the eggs, the little sweetness from its yolk and a bit salty from its egg white. The roasted seaweed is crispy as the freshly made ones...!
All the cells in my body are calling me to discover further of this masterpiece.
Yes, the broth, the broth!!
He lifted the bowl and poured the soup into his mouth, and did not stop drinking ever since.
Incredible...no, everything about this bowl is absolutely amazing!
Where did the chef come from?! How did I not notice this ramen shop?
This is such a blessing for today.
The manager peeked from the kitchen door and grinned as he saw the man's expression. Later, someone pushed the doors gently and stepped in. The manager stared back at the entrance.
"Uncle Takumi, I'm back." Morihito greeted the old man with a warm smile.
"Oh, isn't that Mori? Who are the boys next to you? Are they your classmates?" He grinned softly.
"They are my friends. I planned to come by myself, but they all insisted on coming with me." Morihito scratched his head slightly and giggled.
"No, that's fine. It is great to see your friends with you. You looked happier, too."
"Heh, do I?"
"Oh, the three little guys too."
"This is Xander. They're Blast and Easton." Morihito put his hand on Xander's shoulders.
"Hello there!" He spoke.
"Mori, is this the ramen shop you were talking about? I can't wait to order a bowl of ramen!" Kai hurried to take a scan of the menu. The rest of the tiny monsters bounced and grabbed one from the cashier.
"There aren't many customers today, so feel free to take any seat." Takumi spoke.
"How have you been?" Morihito asked with a joyful smile.
"Do you see anything different from what I was doing?"
"No, haha."
"It should be the same question I wanted to ask. You haven't contacted me ever since you transferred to a new school."
"Sorry about that. I have been trying to find a time to come to your place, but I was too busy."
"I know, I know, schools must be tough for you three." Takumi smiled.
"Oh, haven't I introduced Kai and Kiyoshi to you? Silly me. He is Kai, we met on the first day of school."
"Hey, uncle!" Kai waved passionately.
"So you must be Kiyoshi." Takumi said.
"Nice to meet you, uncle." Kiyoshi greeted him politely and nodded.
"Uncle, are you the shop owner? It looks like you are the only worker here!" Kai asked.
Takumi laughed. "Indeed. I have been working here for more than a decade."
"A decade?!"
"Yes, without Morihito's father's help, I will never be able to open a shop here."
"You know Mori's father?" Kai asked.
"That's a long story, my father knew uncle Takumi for quite a while." Takumi chuckled as Morihito explained.
"I owe Mr Amari a lot. All these menus, implements and gadgets, roof and the kitchen are his efforts...your father has good eyes on selecting people." Morihito giggled at his words.
"Words aside, you three must be hungry. Just call when you make up your mind. Take your time." He grinned and left.
"Sure! I want pork cutlet ramen so bad!" Kai exclaimed.
"We all do." Kiyoshi said.
"I would like the same." Morihito followed.
"Me, me, me!" Xander and fellows yelled at the back.
"Got it." Takumi said loudly from the kitchen. Morihito and Kiyoshi thanked Takumi after.
"Mori, you have such a nice uncle!" Kai laughed.
"Well, in fact, uncle Takumi is not my actual uncle." Morihito giggled.
"Really?" Kai rubbed his head slightly.
"That's obvious, Kai." Kiyoshi commented. "You don't call your uncle by their first name."
"Then, how did you two meet?" Kai glanced back.
"Through my parents, mostly." Morihito stared at the table and folded his hands slowly.
"They are always busy. When they worked overnight, I stayed at relatives' homes. But when they moved away, my parents searched for someone to look after me, and uncle Takumi accepted the request. Since I can take care of myself in recent years, I lived alone."
"I see." Kiyoshi replied.
"Ah, yea! Mori's parents are very incredible! They are scientists after all."
"Takumi told us the surname just now, 'Mr Amari', could it be...?!" Kiyoshi spoke with widened pupils after the mention of the name. "Mori, is Amari Akira your father?!"
As Morihito nodded, Kiyoshi took a careful look at him and grinned after sighing.
"Although it is unbelievable. There is no mistake that you are his son."
"Huh? Why?" Morihito blinked.
"Cause you are just a spitting image of your father!" Kai explained and burst out laughing.
"Uh...do we look 'that similar'?"
"You never compare yourself to your parents before?!"
"We seldom meet...so I guess so."
"They must be busy parents."
"Pork Cutlet Ramen. They are hot, so beware." Takumi smiled softly, he placed the large bowls on the desk gently.
"That was super fast! I can't wait to take a bite of this." Kai exclaimed. His chopsticks grabbed the noodles in a flash and he began blowing away the white smoke.
Blast consumed the broth unhurriedly. Xander took a large bite of the ramen and coughed in a red face.
"AH! Hot, hot!!" He screamed.
"That's a bad habit of yours." Morihito passed Xander the cup and he drank it without a blink.
"Lord Kiyoshi, have a pork cutlet!"
Easton showed the plate and attempted to make it float with his magic. However, Kiyoshi ceased him by adding pressure with the tips of the chopsticks and glanced at Easton with a cold sight.
"Thanks." He said, a bit emotionlessly.
"Mmmm! All the cells of my body are telling me this is so good! Right, Mori?"
"It's brilliant as always." Morihito wore a bright smile on his face.
"Mori makes the most joyful smile when he eats." Kiyoshi commented.
"He does?!" Kai stared at Morihito.
"...why are you two looking at me like that?" Morihito glanced at his friends confusingly with blinking eyes.
"It seems you are enjoying your meal." Kiyoshi chuckled. Morihito bit his lips embarrassingly.
"Thanks for the meal! This is the best ramen I have! I will visit here again." Kai shouted with a bow.
"You are welcomed." Takumi chuckled.
"Well then, we are heading off now!" Kai smiled with his teeth showing.
"Thank you." Said Kiyoshi politely.
"Bye, uncle Takumi!" Morihito spoke outside the doors.
"Wait, Mori, do you mind helping me a bit?" Takumi said.
"Oh, in that case...Kai, Kiyoshi, sorry, I can't come with you two."
"It's alright! We remember how to head back."
"To be more precise, that's because of Kiyoshi." Blast added.
"Oh Blast, c'mon!"
"It should be fine, then." Morihito said with a relieved smile.
"See you around tomorrow, bye Mori!" Kai yelled.
"Bye, Kai, Kiyoshi." Morihito spoke softly from a distance.
"So, what's the matter?" Morihito looked back at Takumi.
"The news is...you are that matter."
"Eh?!"
"The matter is in you." He sighed.
He looked serious all of a sudden...
"What's wrong with me? I am all good." Morihito spoke in a wry laugh.
"Anything happened recently?"
"I was having a great time at school with my friends. They are all so kind to me."
"I know." Takumi answered. "I wasn't talking about them. I was talking about you."
"Me? I am fine as you see, you worried too much." Morihito giggled.
"You looked anxious about something, but you aren't telling me." Morihito gulped as Takumi mentioned.
Morihito is anxious? Xander placed his gaze on him.
"Nothing special, really, do I look like I am lying to you?"
"If you aren't honest, that will be a problem. I will ask one more time, what happened?" His words stressed gradually and Morihito took a step backwards.
"Uncle Takumi, you are acting weird today..." He frowned slightly.
I had never seen uncle Takumi looking so worried before...
Takumi sighed. There was no one in the shop, everything was silent, and even the cicadas stopped their chatter. Morihito stared at Takumi, his hands clenched the cold sweat in his palms.
"Pardon me, Mori. I was rude, and I shouldn't." He apologised deeply.
"It's alright...!" Morihito relaxed his fists. He smiled warmly and broke the silence. "Did you just ask me a favour?"
"I did. If that's fine with you, you still need school tomorrow."
"That's fine by me. What is it?" Morihito glanced at his phone. While Takumi began to search the shelves.
"I remember I put it somewhere...Ah, there you go." He spoke calmly and took a set of cards from the wooden box. Morihito gasped slightly with raised eyebrows.
A deck of Buddyfight cards?!
"You never told me that you are a buddyfighter!" He said excitedly.
I don't know how to react to this, it is complicated...
"Now you do." He giggled. "Wanna have a game?"
"Well, sure!" Morihito laughed. "But the shops and centres are all closed at such an hour."
"No worries." Takumi smiled. "Sit down, Mori."
"Alright..." Morihito looked for his deck in the school bag.

I totally forgot, I still need to return this by tomorrow.
We borrowed the VR case for testing in the club's venue.
Kiyoshi said Kai is not a good keeper, haha.
It should be okay if I use it now, right...?
"Uncle Takumi, let us try something new, shall we?" He took the case out of the bag, a bit of excitement on his face.
"Mori, why are we going to the backyard?"

Morihito placed the VR case on the grass.
"Watch the magic happen." He grinned.
The luminous tiles expanded themselves square by square into a bamboo field, generating a barrier above Morihito and Takumi. Hexagon platforms rose from the bottom and an enormous one in the middle.
"This must be a type of technology, though I do not know how to use them." Takumi giggled.
"It is called 'V-Board', a technology that visualises Buddyfight cards using virtual reality." Morihito explained.
"Virtual Reality?" Takumi frowned.
"Well...it is like a stimulation to what we see and sense, like real life."
"That's very impressive, the technology has come this far already."
"Warriors, show the light to the world! Luminize! Dragon Guardians of Justice!" Morihito placed his hands on the deck zone. He pulled, and a glowing deck of cards appeared.
"Now, give it a try!" He smiled.
"Like this?" Takumi touched the V-board carefully.
"Yea! Now search for the right corner, do you see where you place the deck?" Morihito shouted through the stage.
"I found it. What to do next?"
"Just place your hand in that area and imagine you are holding something and pull it up!"
A deck projected into the deck zone after shining, and a series of floating cards came in front of Takumi.
"I fight for Dragon World." Morihito turned the flag card over.
"Katana World." So Takumi followed.
That fits him so well. Morihito grinned as he saw Takumi's flag.
"Buddy monster, Xander!"
"My Buddy is...Murakumo." Takumi spoke softly.
"Uncle Takumi, you can start first." Morihito said politely.
Takumi spoke after a short stop, then smiled embarrassingly. "Mori, I don't know how this works yet. How about you show me?"
"Oh...draw a card, then try to place a card from your hand that you don't need to the gauge zone, and draw again. Working?"
"Yes, I remember now, it is also called 'charge and draw' right? Forgive me, I didn't play for a long time." He burst out a bitter laugh and Morihito giggled.

There is a small text description on the card, it stated – "Tales said the sword was forged by a legendary swordsmith. A copy was made by the later generations but the true blade was never found again."
"Hah, so nostalgic..." Takumi gazed at the sword calmly with a gentle smile.
"Ooh, his Buddy is a sword!" Xander said astonishingly.
Uncle Takumi's Buddy...is a sword?! I thought only monsters could be Buddy.

When it was pulled, the great blade was ignited with flames, the side of the blade had bright comma-like pieces of jewellery in copper colour, the tip was curved, sharp and tough, and it sparkled like fireworks when it hit its targets. Morihito couldn't react to Takumi's actions once the blade was revealed, he couldn't even sense Takumi's presence walking toward him. His eyes could not catch up. It was too quick, just too quick.

"Wha–!?" The breeze caused his hair to float for a moment.
"My move has ended. So, did you watch it carefully?" Takumi stared back at Morihito calmly.

Just like the old days...
It happened when he taught me how to handle the ramen.
"So, did you watch it carefully?" Takumi asked while folding the dough.
"No, I didn't." The young Morihito spoke shyly.
"Watch it again." He said, then repeated the same step previously.
It happened again and again until I noticed how things worked out.
Sometimes it feels like uncle Takumi is just like my grandpa or even my father.
He never blamed me for how foolish and slow I was learning.
It was like his patience was infinite.
Back in time, he never told me how and what the recipe for making ramen should be.
Because the key...
Is "to observe".
In the present, Morihito laughed gradually after Takumi's attack. He smiled warmly with falling sweat.
Things didn't change even when I grew up, huh?
"I will try it again." Morihito nodded.
"Now you get it." Takumi grinned.
"Draw, charge and draw. Equip, Drago Blade!" The grey sword with a dragon-shaped cyan blade formed after blue sparkling.

"True Green Force Dragon Shield!" He yelled, Getsumei bounced backwards like a shadow before the barrier was revealed.
"Ohh, a spell." Takumi said a bit astonishingly.

"When did he–" The tiny dragon screamed as he got destroyed by the grand blast of the sword.
"Oh no!" Morihito sweated and stared at his cards.
As if I got enough defence for Red, his destruction can be prevented. However, as uncle Takumi's item gained sudden power, it is far more than him, there's no use even if I use a spell.
I should find a great time to use my cards.
"If the user utilises the powers of monsters and timing to cast abilities..."
That's right, Kiyoshi's right, it is all about timing, when to counter and attack your opponents!
I must always be ready for what comes next, and that's why.
It won't be the same as the last time I fought investigator Light.
"What is it? Your turn started when I put down my blade." Takumi hinted.
"I didn't notice...! How long was I daydreaming?" Morihito giggled nervously and tried to get everything back to track.
"Not for long, maybe minutes. No need to be in a hurry."
"Sorry..." Morihito voiced softly.

"The cycle of the sky has changed."
"The sky...?!"
Takumi grinned. His sword shone into pure white light, the sword became shortened but sharper. Morihito looked into the sky and everything a stun, it turned dim in an instant. A Chilly wind blew between the bamboos. In the centre of the forest, Takumi held a lustrous silver blade, clear like water, reflecting the light of the moon in the dark.

"Also old man, you didn't call me out for so long! I am getting bored of my training opponents." Takumi giggled when Haru mentioned it.
"We are still in a fight, Haru." Takumi stared.
"Right, right!" Haru hopped off from his side in a blink.
At that moment, Morihito yelled with a card in his hand. "True White Force Dragon Shield!!"

"Huff..." Morihito held his chest and watched the astonishing clouds of flames sparkle above him, approaching closer and closer. When a blow of wind ran into his face, the sword hit his waist, it cannot be seen by visions, however. Resulting in an explosion.
"Mori!" Xander let his scream out as the worry flooded his heart.
"Still can fight?" Takumi asked warmly.
"I'm alright...I can hold this." Said the boy who tried to get up and gasped.

A swordsman on the opposite side of Morihito and Xander. His eyes glistened red amid the mist gathered on the field. The figures could not be seen clearly but only those pairs of gazes.

That voice spoke softly and it echoed throughout the stage. Abruptly, pillars of light descended on the bamboo forest, and all the clouds faded away, revealing a clear blue sky. Three stood in a line and pulled their blades one followed another. Meanwhile, the cards on the field turned vertically one by one.

"Ancient Force Protector Dragon, Xander!" Xander added. "At last!"
He grinned brightly with his broadsword, shiny white armour with bronze linings and a red cape on his back.

"Words aside, you are the most impatient one here." Haru laughed hard after a cold sweat.
"Watch out, Mori!" Xander yelled as he saw the figure travel like a bullet.
There is no way to block him at such a distance!

The sound vibrated as Takumi's Odachi hit Morihito's blade. Nevertheless, the boy was being pushed back and the fire splashed into his face. Morihito lost his balance after.

"It's not going to work." Takumi spoke softly with his eyes shut.
"How, how come it is useless?" Haru appeared to be more nervous.
"The power of Moonlight is to mirror the strength of the targets and reflect into themselves."
"But now Moonlight's ability can clone that dragon's strength and counterattack, isn't that right?"
Takumi shook his head gradually, leaving Haru a big mouth.
"That warrior is strong enough to defeat himself. And those two are able to overcome their powers, even the opponents are themselves." Takumi grinned.
In this case, I am fully relieved about them.
"There's no way...!" Haru exclaimed.
Xander connected the swords into the rod of a handle perfectly. He wielded and spun the spear in his hand. The swords on the tips brightened and they lengthened forward.
"Double attack!" Xander raised his weapon and landed off, leaving cracks on the floor.

He nibbled his teeth and pulled the sword from the ground, grasped it staunchly. With faith in cyan eyes, he charged at Takumi like a bolt. While wielding the blade, a trail of light blue aura was left behind. Takumi saw Morihito's impression, and he put a soft grin on his face. No attempts to defend with arms but stood still to be hit by Morihito's sword.
By seeing your fighting I understand, that you no longer only find joy in cooking.
You got friends, a new hobby, a new place to belong.
You have grown up. Making decisions on your own, and even becoming more mature and strong.

"Huh? I was expecting the attack to be blocked, and it ended somehow..." Morihito rubbed the back of their head.
"Splendid, Mori!" Xander clapped with Morihito. They smiled at each other.
"Ah...my back, it hurts..."
"I will get you up!" Morihito hurried to Takumi.
"Me, me too!" Xander followed.
"One, two!"
While Takumi slowly got up from the ground, the field of bamboo in the background started to fade and returned where they were once again.
"Uncle Takumi, you okay?"
"I am all good. This is normal for elderly people." He laughed bitterly.
"I shouldn't overdo it, how careless I am...throwing my head away once I engage in a fight too passionately, I forget things easily." Morihito apologised.
"No need to blame things you did not do wrong." Takumi said and patted Morihito's head.
"Forget the things I said earlier before the fight starts, perhaps my worry is never necessary."
"I don't mind it, just like I said." Morihito giggled.
"You can solve this on your own, right, Mori?"
"Ya..." Morihito looked around. Xander thumbed ups at him with a big smile.
"Of course, I can." He replied stoutly.
"Just remember, if anything happens, reach out to people around you, okay?"
"Yea. I will."
"Well, then. Is it time for you to go? I need to clean my shop, too."
"Oh crap, so late already?! I'm gonna hurry!"
"Bye, Mori." Takumi waved at him.
"Thank you so much for the fight, uncle Takumi."
"Same here. Goodnight, Mori, and be careful when staying out there."
"Just leave it to me!" Xander pointed at himself.
"You are a great protector." Takumi praised, and thus Xander laughed loudly and proudly. "Ha, ha, ha!"
"Bye, uncle Takumi!" Morihito closed the shop's door gradually.
After that, the shop was quiet. The cicadas began their whisperings again.
"The moon was peaceful and truly beautiful today." Takumi spoke.
"And the blue, clear sky in the morning, the sun shone brightly." A voice suggested by a little tiger in kitten size.
"The cycle of the sky is balanced, no matter which side, it is always a masterpiece." Takumi added. A tiny black fox nodded as he agreed.
"You, you! Since when were you here?!" The kitten roared and the fox stared, ignoring the tiger.
"Humph, you are cold as always." The tiger snorted with crossed arms.
Abruptly, a gentle hand was placed under his chin, rubbing the fur satisfyingly.
"Ahhahaha...don't do this, nyahaha, that's so itchy!" And he giggled loudly and mopped on the floor.
My Blade Beast identity is going to fade at this point, don't–!! His heart cried.
But that hand is way too comfortable, I can't...
The fox did a quiet growl as it gazed until Takumi stroked his head softly. He closed his eyes and yawned lightly.
"Get a good rest, my dear kitten and puppy. " Takumi muttered with a smile.
