Dear readers,
Hello there! It has been a while since I uploaded a chapter. Some of you may know that I have been in a bad health condition, along with a lot of school work. I hope you all understand the delay in this chapter.
Feeling better, I learnt that health and body are important in the long run in writing. It is like running a marathon. If you're gonna stay running, you can't keep running in fast and you will eventually lose your breath and fall behind.
Thank you for staying with me on this long journey and I hope I can finish season 1 soon!
And Happy 4th Anniversary!
~ Hoho
Chapter 27: Black and Grey
I am Indren — ruler of the void, holder of Origin of Dominance.
Many things happened to make me who I am.
But it doesn't matter anymore, with my current strength, I will create the world of my future sight.
Before that, nothing could stand against me.

The dark grey dragonic beast fell hurriedly from the gigantic purplish gleaming gate, landing on the battlefield gently yet intimidating, leaving a small gap between his paws and the ground, dust rushing all over.
"You finally remembered who you are, I am glad," Aggravius spoke and sharpened his claws. "Embrace your true nature..."
Indren cut Aggravius' words and said with his calm violet gaze. "It doesn't change who I am."
"Or not..." Aggravius frowned.
The gate blinked near his right shoulder and cut down to his waist. Nevertheless, nothing seemed to happen to Aggravius' body. He then stared back at the grey dragon in a prompt sight, Indren explained:
"Your body has entered the void in and out in an eye blink, the portal closed after reforming your cut parts back together."
"This is the power of the void, I see, but not enough to destroy my vessel..."
"You will learn."
Indren reached into the portal he created, held the accumulated lights in his hand and released it. It went through the portal straight at Aggravius' head, the black dragon reacted quickly, obstructed with his arms and pushed forward. Indren raised his eyebrows slightly.
"You should have aimed directly at me, not giving me chances to counter your attacks."
Aggravius said with his widened eyes, stretched his claws at Indren and grabbed hard. A sudden shock went through Indren's body and the portals on both sides closed promptly. Indren held his chest and almost lost his balance.
"That was 'Death Wish', wasn't it? The target will experience death, giving immense pain in a prompt moment." Indren gazed back calmly.
"It is foreshadowing your future demise." Aggravius grinned sinisterly. "Perhaps now."

"It's too soon to give conclusions." Indren smiled.
The purplish portal expanded next to him, completely consuming the dark dragon. He soon found himself away from where he was.
"Hmm...?" Aggravius searched the corners of his eyes. Then he saw something coming in sight.

Since when have I been here? Aggravius thought with shocked eyes, as he floated in the air.
"I am not on the field...?"
"What a slow reaction."
Indren grasped the front, and several portals surrounded Aggravius. Purplish lights fell and penetrated the black dragon completely. His body is on smoke, striking the land, leaving a concave on the ground.

"As a friendly reminder, I suggest you not to push further. Unless you want to destroy the vessel on your own. This is your last chance." The grey dragon looked down on Aggravius from the sky.
"Ridiculous." The deep crimson eyes glared in the mist. "I will use up everything I have to destroy your foolish ideals and make you realise your mistakes."
"I only see the one who disrupts my plan and claims himself to be right."
"Answer me, then. What do you think you can change with your powers? The world can never truly be peaceful, and we knew this from the start."
"Unless you destroy it and recreate a new one...wasn't this your plan all along?"
The grey dragon fell silent, staring at Aggravius without a smile. The darkness covered his face.
"I see why now. You are uncertain, afraid, and not ready to give up this world. That's why you want to transform it, to keep it."
"Why would you let some weakling humans change your beliefs? Why would you halt the plan of eliminating the world because of just several ants? Despite all that happened? Is it worth it? You become your greatest obstacle to achieving your goals."
"If you still do not understand...we have no more talk from now on."
"So be it." Indren gazed. "I don't expect us to comprehend each other anymore."
"Let's just end this quickly, can't we?"
"You left me no choice..."
"Void Slasher, finish him." Indren glanced. His follower pulled two violet laser blades out of the gauntlets and dashed at the black dragon.
"Midnight Shadow." The black dragon faded into a cloud of smoke, the laser blades cut through and landed on nothing.

"Vile Dagger Dragon to the right." Soulfire Dragon yelled as it was being destroyed into card pieces.
"He just destroyed his followers?"
Simultaneously, a spirit emerged from the dead dragon and darted towards the Indren's field.
"Lord Indren...!" Cosmo shouted as he saw the ghost go straight at the grey dragon.
"Mmmhh." Indren raised his claws as the spirit ran through his face.
So it is the effect after destruction, no wonder why he is willing to sacrifice Soulfire Dragon.
The spirit of the dragon turned around and flew at the black dragon, to be absorbed by him entirely.

Indren balanced himself and gazed at the smoke, a shadow pierced and rushed out of it, along with the uncontrollable laughter.
"Whispering hollow." Indren glowed slightly white. Aggravius's talons ripped on his body right after.

Indren picked a card in his hand and grinned. "Despair, you say?"
After his words, the card in his palms reacted strongly, gleaming in purplish light. The dark dragon then became cautious of the mysterious power held by Indren.
"Can't you notice the flow of energy inside this realm? It was filling up, slowly condensing. And now, it is finally full."
He raised the light, shouting in faith.
"The key to a rebirthed world, show yourself."
"Power of Origin, release."

The grey dragon grasped the purplish lights and fused with his body. The air seemed frozen in time, the field became more silent than ever. The great gravity kept pushing towards the ground. Vile Dagger Dragon couldn't hold itself and kneeled.
This pressure is just like it is taking every breath and draining all the life force inside my body. The Power of Origin of Dominance.
A card emerged at Indren's left. A gigantic beast as tall as the whole Revae's building stomped onto the field, quickly bowed and spoke in excitement.
"AHHH!! Lord, you have summoned me! It is my greatest honour to serve you!!" He roared as hard as he could like a voice that penetrated through thousands of miles. Indren sweated slightly embarrassingly.
"Frithu, I told you it is fine to lower your voice..."
"ALRIGHT!!! Frithu will be more careful!!"
Indren sighed lightly and sweated.
"He surprises us every time he appears." Cosmo giggled nearby.

"Not yet, I will go first." Indren clenched and opened the portal near Aggravius, trying to absorb the black dragon to the other side.
"The same trick won't work twice," Aggravius spoke. "Counter final, Demigod's Storm of Dark Shards! Now, destroy everything before me!"

Countless black shards formed in the air, emerging in circles in circles, completely wrapping Indren and his followers. When the black dragon moved his fingers slightly, all projectiles ignited in dark crimson flames and darted at the field like arrows. Sky seemed dyed in red, yet the grey dragon was unmoved.
"I thought I was the one who was going to say that line." He grinned. "Did you even notice you already experienced it once?"
"Counter." He spoke lightly, the voice spreading within the air.
The black shards began gleaming purplish, fluttering, soon the crimson aura disappeared and even all the shards completely dissolved. In a closer and slowed view, the violet lightning penetrated all the dark shards, gleaming and reflecting in between, making all of them go astray and lose their balance.
"He nullified my impact?! No, this is when he saved those humans...!"

"Do you have anything to say?"
He then raised his hands, and the enormous portal appeared on the field, ready to devour the black dragon. The dark dragon turned his head down and poured an ironic laugh, it went non-stop. Indren's followers watched him a cold sight, assuming Aggravius was out of his mind.
"So it does end in this way." He spoke softly with a confident grin. "I knew it was working..."
"I am not interested." The grey dragon frowned, ignoring the black dragon, and continued the attack. "I could have ended you now."
"You should have." He spoke weakly. "You should always...always be aware, especially if you are not in danger."
"Because they are closer than you think." He raised his head in a deadly stare, eyes glowing in bright red.
Meanwhile, tiny cracks began appearing in the realm's sky. Indren took a glance at his left in a cold sweat.
"...?!"
"I told you today would be your day of doom!" The dark dragon widened his gaze and approached with greater laughter. "Now there is no escape."
"Is this what you planned from the beginning...?"
Before he could react, Aggravius emerged beside him, his claws grabbed at Indren's skull and slammed it into the breaks of space. Although Indren created a purplish barrier in front of him, it still expanded far in an instant because of the pressure. The corners of his eyes witnessed the cracks of the void spread and grow into a tremendous portal, absorbing him inside like a black hole. Cosmo cried out in fear, with Frithu turning around and reacting to the scene in concern. The black dragon approached, pulled out his dark lance and was ready to impale him. The grey dragon gazed and clenched his claws.
The portal closed, and two dragons disappeared on sight in a moment of flash. Cosmo and Frithu's hands reached into the edge of the portal while still shouting for Indren. Leaving only Cosmo and Frithu inside the unstable realm.
"Lord Indren...is gone." Cosmo kneeled on the ground watching into nothingness. Frithu stepped closer to him and patted his shoulder. They entered the portal behind them after.
Near the doors, a figure and a chibi flying green dragon were out of the room and walked through a dark hallway where lights were off.
"I still can't believe we found nothing there. Even though this is his room." The man spoke.
"He could have stored it somewhere else. He is aware of our investigations."
"Jack, I think we should visit the Tokyo Laboratory for another time," Tasuku said.
"Didn't we check it two weeks ago?" Jack asked. "You still have other work in the following week, you might over-stress yourself."
"No, I feel like there is something we might have missed there. We need to head there."
"You mean the door to the underground facility?"
"Yes, they skipped that area during our visit. Whether it is intentional, is unknown."
"We need to investigate deeper into the laboratory and..."
Abruptly, they heard a blasting sound out of the building. Tasuku and Jack looked back into the hallway.
"Tasuku, did you hear that?"
"What was that?"
While a voice emerged from the speaker, seemed in a hurry.
"Commissioner Tasuku, commander Zanya here, can you hear me?"
"Yes?" Tasuku replied with a bad feeling, only to prove his intuitions to be true after Zanya explained.
Meanwhile, in the streets near the Revae's building. Vehicles and roads were set on fire, traffic lights buzzing and died out. The dark dragon slammed the grey dragon at the fences, completely bending and puncturing them, straight into the entrances of a business tower. All glass pieces and crushed concrete rained on his face.
"Indren...this is the end of you."
"You should care more about yourself."
The grey dragon quickly raised its claws in purplish lights. A large explosion was heard from inside the building. The dark dragon retreated onto the streets to prevent his blast. He grabbed the lance in hand and darted at the smoke, only to be grasped and twisted apart by the grey dragon.
"You made the mistake of going against me. Whatever intentions you have, you are not going to succeed." He stared.
The dark dragon kept his laughter. "You will learn."
He formed another spear in his hands, ignited in an aura of abyss, and sliced at Indren with full force. Even though Indren quickly avoided the attack, a straight ray of light caused a roll of streetlights all blast off along with the bricks, leaving a trail of cracks in the road.
Things are getting uncontrollable now. Luckily the humans have escaped. Indren read the damage caused by Aggravius and thought.
I need to restore my energy to reopen the portal to the World of Nothingness. But this will take a while.
"Where are you looking?" At his back, an illuminating red glowed blazing consequently. "Worrying about those little ants?"
Indren looked sidelong, obstructing the lance by lifting his claws in purplish glimmers. A barrier-like shield protected him from the hit perfectly. The black dragon began to push further at the border and was pushed back after it broke down nevertheless, creating a large pulse of energy.
"Quit your meaningless rampage, it is not going to work on me."
"How about them?" He chuckled coldly. "You won't be able to protect them forever."
"It will be fun to watch you struggling over."
The dark dragon stepped backwards and gradually disappeared in the shadows between buildings.
He is heading to the other side? No, that's the direction of...!
I must catch up with him.
The grey dragon turned around and traced the abyss that devoured all the gleams of the roads, the street lights dissolved like air when the darkness approached.
"Commander Zanya, Kurokawa's team successfully withdrew to the citizen's protection area." One from the speaker reported.
"Good. Ensure the safety of all protected citizens in all directions. All teams, maintain your positions and report your situations in a 5-minute time gap. Report immediately if there is anything suspicious."
"Yes sir!"
I can't let my guard down. There is something off tonight. The pressure around here is especially suffocating like it is about to grasp me into pieces. What kind of monster can cause such a dreadful atmosphere?!
Most importantly, we need to protect citizens as our priority while fighting against them...this is going to be a tough one.
How are we going to protect this city?
While Zanya was making his plan, a voice distracted him.
"Sir, this is Captain Tanji! A high abnormal energy reading was found around protection area C!"
"What's the reading? What's the world of the illegal monster?"
"Sir...if it is not mistaken, it exceeds the maximum value of the measuring instrument." The voice shivered in his words.
"...Huh?!"
"The world of the invading monsters is unknown, it is not registered in the database."
Zanya grasped his fists, looking down towards the ground.
Unknown worlds, unbelievably high readings..."Lost World", could it be?
No, a monster was already registered a while ago. The system can't be able to recognise species and worlds. This is another unknown beast with tremendous power in the past few years...perhaps we are going to encounter a greater world crisis soon in the future.
But no matter what comes, we must face it to protect everyone.
"Commander Zanya?" The voice made him loosen his fists.
"You came in time, commissioner Tasuku. We are heading to the protection area right now."
It is good to have someone sharing the same belief.
"Attention, please remain in order, do not leave the crowd without the police's permission." The broadcast played repeatedly.
"I can not believe the whole area has been affected." One said.
"Have you heard that there are two illegal monsters in the locked area? It seems they are destroying anything on sight."
"Are you kidding? The damage must be massive. No one is going to survive from that."
A man in a business shirt held his phone close to his ears, only to hear the cold voice of the message box with disappointment.
"Another missing call...will he be fine?" Jun grasped his fist and did a long sigh.
Mr Yamanaka, where are you right now? Why are you not leaving with us?
Please be safe...
Meanwhile, he saw a man trying to rush out of the crowd but was stopped by a guard after.
"I can't find my wife and my son! They must be still in there, I need to find them!" He said in a shivering voice.
"Mister, please remain calm. We ensure the safety of all citizens. After the evacuation, you may find your family in a safe area."
The man was even in a hurry, grabbing the arms of the police.
"Please let me in! I don't care what happens to me, as long as they are fine."
"Mister, I'm afraid I can't. If you continue to obstruct us, not only the citizens will be in danger, but will also put your family who are inside at risk. I am sure they will worry about you if they know you are not here."
"Uhh..." The man let go of that guard and fell silent.
Jun thought. It should be fine, Buddy Police are trained professionals. I am sure they are more experienced.
"Papa, papa, where are you?" A bright and pure voice shouted.
The man turned his head in dripping tears. "This voice...this isn't mistaken!"
He embraced the warmth of the little boy who rushed into him and took a glance at his wife. But was confused by her dread.
"What's wrong? Why is she so afraid?"
Before he asked, a mist of darkness approached behind, sparkling red eyes emerged and were about to touch them.
"Look out!" The guards yelled and charged the revolver.
The darkness revealed itself to be a fearful dark-scaled beast, landing the claws at the crowd. The bullets were released, but the shadow rapidly shaded the street. Everyone was in a huge panic, pushing each other and hurrying around, hoping to escape as quickly as possible.
Crap! They are not going to make it on time! And the citizens...! The police force sweated.
Abruptly, the grey dragon rushed out and blocked the attack, throwing the dark dragon away and pressing him down onto the floor.
"Another monster?!" The whole team was both surprised and alerted.
"The two illegal monsters are fighting?"
"There is no time for discussion. Backup team, maintain orders of the citizens and take refuge, now!" The captain commanded.
"Yes sir!"
"Teams in positions! The first roll, shield on! Second roll, third roll..." The captain commanded. A line of police force stabbed giant rectangular-like steel onto the ground, and the barrier extended from the metal shields after one another.
"Energy shield operating, fully charged!"
A crimson light flickered in front, with thousands of lances flashing at them at maximum speed.
"Brace—!!!" The leader shouted out with eyes fully open.
The dazzling red energised lances immediately hit the protective shield, and a huge pressure hit the crowd in an all-around way. The police team barely opened their eyes, some started to fall back from the pressure.
"Hold the line!!" The leader yelled.
All grasped the shield and attempted to step forward, but were pushed back even further.
"Damn it...! How are we going against such a thing?!"
They raised their heads at the uninterrupted attack.
The team is about to collapse!
A blast of wind struck everyone and created a gap between the police force.
"Gahhhh!!!"
"They broke through it!! Second row and third row, go assist the backup team! The first row, hold the grey dragon!"
The grey dragon approached in purple lighting, its eyes firmly looking to the front.
"It is coming! Charge the barrier!!"
The grey dragon accelerated and sprinted. The squad gritted their teeth and tried to calm their nerves.
"Brace—!"
They shouted at the blinding light. But found themselves standing motionless in the same spot.
"Arghh! Huh? Where is the grey dragon?"
"Over there!" One of them pointed. "He got over us!"
"What?!"
Indren traced the dark dragon and gazed afar, seeing the frightened citizens running from the abyss.
I can't let him get closer.
He raised his hand and charged the energy sphere, it landed right near Aggravius. Aggravius sneered, ignoring Indren and fastened his steps. He flew away, ready to give another wave of attacks. Just as he was concentrating the strength in his hands, he looked towards the crowd and suddenly stopped his attack.
He stopped all of a sudden. What is he planning again? The grey dragon gazed.
"Indren, I told you can only choose one, your goal must come with sacrifice, and you know it the best. And if you cannot give it up..."
"I will do it for you."
He gathered the strength to his summoned lance, not only it was ignited, but the whole lance was glistening in bright crimson, resonating to his eyes. The line patterns are marked on the lance and gleaming in dark red sharply. He grabbed the lance firmly, eyes fixed on his target.
He is specifically aiming for one target?
Indren's eyes quickly searched in the crowd and seemed to have his answer.
No, not him...!
Aggravius grinned and threw the spear forward with all his strength. It flew at the crowd at full speed. Indren followed right away.
I can't let it reach them.
He dashed forward, and the memories flashed into his mind.
When I came to the human world, I told myself not to feel emotions or connect with any of them.
Aggravius and I agreed that I would be disguised as a human to search for the host of Origin of Creation.
As such, I lived under the name of Yamanaka Aki and learned to be like a human for years. I observe, understand and imitate them, absorbing their knowledge, culture, way of thinking and communication. I sold my left treasures in the void, created a company, and became at the top of the food chain. With such power, I quickly discovered the human user of Origin of Creation. Unexpectedly, the path to that world was found in the process.
Origin of Destruction became more anxious when the first attempt to capture Origin of Creation failed. This was when he became more impulsive, and uncontrollable.
I was in great frustration because I failed in my so-called "perfect plan".
Perhaps it was under the influence of that human Power of Origin user, that I became more interested in them.
And this is when I met him.
He heard knocking on the door. He held his head and sighed.
"Come in," Aki commanded coldly, not giving a single eye contact to the visitor.
"Mr Yamanaka, I brought you the report and details to be discussed at tomorrow's meeting." He hugged the papers and tablet while holding the coffee in a cardboard box. He came to Aki's desk hurriedly.
"Senior is sick today, so I am submitting the report on her behalf." He bowed shyly.
"Where are the others?"
"They are on their lunch break, asking me to hand it to you."
"I see."
What is this smell from the papers?
"Wait." He pointed. "What are these marks?"
"Oh no...!" Jun left a cold sweat when Aki mentioned it. "These must be from the coffee..."
"Coffee?" Aki smelled.
"Yes, it was supposed to be for seniors. But since she is not here today, there is an extra."
"I think everyone already got theirs, would you like to give it a try?"
Aki nodded, and Jun placed the coffee cup on his desk politely. "This is Caramel Macchiato."
He then left the room with a quiet door shut. Aki gazed at the paper cup on his table.
What did he call this? Coffee? 'Caramel'?
He took a sip, eyes widened slightly, surprised by what he tasted.
Sweet and bitter, creamy and warm. it doesn't smell bad.
He slowly sipped the coffee, and his shoulders became more relaxed, recalling how Jun entered the room and what he did. His actions and behaviours put a small smile on his face.
"This is interesting."
Since that day, he delivered a cup of coffee to my office daily, perfectly fulfilling my request, and outdoing my expectations and requirements almost every time.
So I began to observe more of him. How he treats others, how he works, how he speaks.
Until one day, he didn't come to work.
Inside the hospital, Jun waited outside the sick room, he heard a doctor walk out and stood promptly.
"Are they fine?" He asked.
"Their status is temporarily stable, but it is unknown when they will be conscious."
He took a long deep breath. "Thank you, doctor."
The doctor left after more explanations, Jun stepped inside the sick room quietly. Then he saw his wife and daughter lying on beds unmoved in an oxygen mask. Sitting on a chair beside them, his fingers gently pushing the hair away from his wife's face, he turned to his daughter to fix her bed cover, slowly lifting her little hand with his fingers.
"Masako, Yuki, it was such a great holiday...why would things like this happen to you two?"
"I should have answered yes when you asked me for a drive..." His voice trembled slightly.
"How am I going to continue this if I am alone...?"
The tears dripped onto the girl's hand endlessly. His crying can be heard even when the doors are closed.
Outside the ward, Aki walked away slowly. He remembered the images of burning planks and furniture, how he hid under the dark, witnessing a dragon speaking something with a soft smile before getting stabbed by a blade from behind. And finally, a mysterious monster in the sunshine lent him a hand.
This kind of reminds me of old things. He shut his eyes.
"Just now I was wondering why you didn't come to work today, no wonder," Aki spoke, disappearing in a shadow.
Not soon after, a nurse rushed into Jun's room.
"Mr Shibuya?"
"Yes?" He turned his head while the tears still marked on his face.
"Sorry for disrupting you, but it is now the cleaning period for patients' rooms," She said.
"That's fine. I need to get back to work today." He rubbed his face.
"By the way, your bills for the hospital fees have been paid, is he your acquaintance?"
"...huh?" Jun appeared to be stunned by this news.
Meanwhile, in Aki's office, Aki was in a call meeting.
"That's everything I want to mention today, dismiss."
He closed the projected screen in front of him and proceeded to hear the knocking on the doors.
"Come in." He calmly waited for the visitor.
The knockings are slightly faster than they would be. He must be very anxious.
Jun arrived, his skin filled with sweat drops, gasping non-stop, and glanced at Aki.
"Mr Yamanaka, it is me." He spoke, while still in heavy breathing.
"What is your purpose here?" Aki asked with a calm smile.
"I have something to give you." He panted strongly. "This is the cheque for my payment for the hospital fees. I know there isn't enough, but I will pay the rest in the future."
Aki did a small giggle and pushed the cheque away. "I won't receive this. Please take it back."
Jun was worried after his words. His tears accumulated in his eyes, trying not to fall.
"But I don't deserve this, I can't." He spoke restlessly. "At least...please tell me how I can repay you."
Aki fell silent for a moment. Then faced Jun with a satisfied smile.
"Jun, I would like to have a request."
"Yes, anything I will accept." He bowed.
"Can you be my private secretary?"
Huh? Private secretary? Isn't this a promotion? Why? Jun thought.
"What's wrong?"
"Eh...nothing. It is just I don't even know what to say anymore."
"Since this is my request, I will consider it an offset. Do you accept it or not?"
I guess I have no choice. Jun sighed in a cold sweat.
"Yes, I will accept it." He said, Aki grinned after his answers.
"Mr Yamanaka, for the future, I will do my best in every work, I promise!" He spoke loudly while holding his chest.
"I look forward to it," Aki said.
His eyes are so sincere and pure. A heart of innocence.
Is the human world filled with humans like this?
But no matter in which world, there are always several sides of beings. There is no absolute.
Perhaps it is because of the pure gem, its charming glow opened my heart, urging me to protect them.
Inside the groups of people who were fleeing, Jun turned his head and stopped when he witnessed the sparkling red light before his eyes, approaching him gradually and menacingly.
The grey dragon hurried, trying to reach him as quickly as he could. His eyes now looked down to one target.
"You won't make it on time. The fate is sealed." The dark dragon smirked.
The grey dragon stretched his talon at the descending glowing lance, catching it with both hands and falling back with his body. The spear did not stop, however, the claws kept rubbing against it. The fierce sparks continued, and his hands began to smoke. Blood started dripping between his claws.
Aggravius...he sacrificed his life force in this attack. This is more powerful than his other attacks. Can't believe he hid this during our previous fight.
"Origin of Dominance, domain control."
The spear rotated less violently and began to decelerate.
It is slowing down, but not enough. I must stop it before it lands.
With such an amount of energy, I am afraid I can't teleport it with me. If I let it go, it will accelerate.
Now I am only left with one choice.
He gazed, grabbing the spear with his right, releasing his left, and aiming at the crowd. He tried to gather the force in his hand, but the gleams slowly faded.
Damn it, already?
Everyone raised their heads at the red sparkling star striking the ground, blasting and devouring everything around. It all happened in a flash. The escaping citizens at the back were all unconscious. Many just reacted to the scenario and entered a greater panic. Inside the fog where the spear landed, a creature with glowing violet eyes rose from the falling cracked concrete. The mist slowly dispersed. The dark dragon gradually descended from the sky, losing his balance when he reached the floor.
"Hugh...huff..."
He gradually opened his hand, revealing a human with a business suit inside. He took a deep breath when he sensed the heartbeat in him.
No fatal wounds, but the shock and pressure still damaged him. Without immediate treatment, it will be the same.
"The dark dragon wiped two teams just in a single blow..." The police squad members in the front line were in a cold sweat.
"Get yourself together! Several citizens were injured, and there is still another grey dragon on the surface, we need to prevent him from causing any further damage. Do you all understand?"
"Understood, sir!"
The police teams spread and approached the grey dragon. While the other team kept an eye on the dark dragon.
"Is someone in his hand?!"
The team members were stunned by the blood-dripping claws of the grey dragon and the human inside, his clothes stained red.
"How dare this savage..." One glared and gripped the revolver tightly, aiming at the grey dragon. But put it down after seeing the citizens.
After the great explosion, some people took a glance at their backs out of curiosity and were all shocked, watching the grey dragon putting down the human body.
"Is he dead?!"
"These monsters...they will kill us all!" Some shouted and ran away.
Simultaneously, the police surrounded the two dragons, discharged the energised chains and tied their legs promptly. The grey dragon reacted softly without many movements. Abruptly, an enormous shining barrier formed and encircled them.
"You all did well, leave the rest to us." Someone told them from the high.
"This voice! They are finally here!" The police forces raised their heads in gratitude.
"I apologise that we are late." Another arrived with the armoured green dragon.
"It's Commissioner Tasuku and Commander Zanya!" The crowd felt more relieved at their arrival.
"Commissioner Tasuku, I will go for the black dragon. You go for another." They nodded and agreed. Zanya disappeared with the wind, and Tasuku faced the grey dragon with his followers. It turned and stared at them.
"This monster...!" Tasuku was quickly alarmed by its appearance.
The same dragon from five years ago, and now he is here.
This explains why I can't find him in the Ravae's building.
With his strength, we can't face him if we have such limited manpower.
Let alone subduing him, the group is more likely to be destroyed.
But he is injured, this is the best time to capture him. There could be a chance.
"Sir, the preparation is completed."
"Good, begin the containing process."
The flying drones scanned the grey dragon and formed a charged barrier, storing it inside.
"First phase completed."
"Same here," Zanya reported.
The second phase is to weaken the monster inside the barrier. Normally, the monsters inside will struggle to break through and continuously attack the barrier.
But these two are not even resisting. This feels odd.
"Barrier energy levels are normal."
The grey dragon glanced at the dark dragon, their eyes stared at each other.
Our appearances are revealed, what are you going to do now? The dark dragon sneered.
Aggravius, these won't happen if you trust me at the start. The grey dragon sighed.
But for now...
The police force was alarmed when the grey dragon stood straight without pressure.
"How is this even possible?!"
The barrier is not working on them. Tasuku bit his teeth.
"Sir, the energy level reached zero all of a sudden..."
"Everyone retreats! Retreat, now!!" Tasuku shouted in a hurry.
In a prompt moment, the barrier exploded and melted into nothingness like dust. All the team members were bounced off by the strong wind, including the structures and all things on the streets were blown away. Tasuku barely opened his eyes. Jack came and protected the others with his wings.
"Future Force, Vesper Barrier!" Tasuku pulled a gleaming shield from his hand, resisting the pressure in front of him. He saw the grey dragon approaching the dark dragon and took it with him. A mysterious purplish portal was opened, and the grey dragon gave a prompt stare at Tasuku before leaving, dissolving into the portal. The pressure and wind stopped, and everyone couldn't react to what just happened.
Damn it...they are leaving and there is nothing we can do.
"Report...the two illegal monsters have escaped." One of the members spoke in a shivering voice.
"Operation failed."
They sighed, watching flames burning around the city.
In a desolate land of dim space, the purplish gleaming cracks expanded and blew gusts of wind into the area. Two shadows dropped out of the portal and rolled onto the ground. The grey dragon panted, looking around, calming his breath. He stared at the dark dragon who was lying on the floor.
"Seems you don't like the gift I gave you." The black dragon laughed, even in a weak voice.
Indren stopped, trying not to look back, Aggravius mocked, "Just because I broke your toys..."
In a flash, the dark dragon was pressed down into a concave with strengthened pressure. The grey dragon growled, his glowing eyes watching indifferently, clawing and grasping the black dragon's neck.
He still has such an amount of force even after our fight... The dark dragon stared.
"You should be thankful that I spared your life. Yet you did not take it."
"I don't have to be alive, I just need you to realise your mistakes."
"You chose in a wrong way." He gripped harder. "You shouldn't overstep the mark."
"Why bother saving them? They will die anyway, under your plan. You acted like a saviour, unaware that you are a destroyer itself." The black dragon added, while slowly losing his breath.
"It is my own thing. I have my own time and plans, but your actions forced everything to come in early."
The dark dragon smirked, satisfied with the reactions of the grey dragon. Indren frowned.
"Now our existence has been revealed, they will come to find us. We need to act before they have their first step...I will finish the gate. By the end of this month, it should be able to operate."
"The opening of the gate..." The dark dragon murmured.
"It would be best if you stop interrupting my plan. Today is my last warning, do not interfere with me. Otherwise, I will have no choice but to tear your soul apart with my bare hands."
"I don't mind if this is a vessel I gave you. I destroy it right away." He released his claws with a sharp glare.
"You have one objective in the meanwhile, capture Origin of Creation at all costs."
"You better think of it that way, unlike the last time."
"It is all in your control. Do not fail me this time."
"We'll see."
The grey dragon faded into the void, its voice echoed in the mysterious space repeatedly. The pressure of gravity on the dark dragon ceased, and everything returned to normal.
The day after the incident between the two destructive monsters, everything returned to peace. The sunlight penetrates through the windows of Ravae's tower, Indren gazed outside the streets while holding his coffee mug, even though it was empty. Not soon after, he heard someone knocking on his doors.
"Come in." He spoke without looking at the visitor.
"Mr Yamanaka, Mr Shibuya was injured during last night's incident. He is now hospitalised."
"I heard about the news. How is he?" Indren said.
"The medical report said his status is stable, but still needs to be hospitalised for further check."
"I understand," Indren sighed. "Leave me a message when he is conscious."
"Yes, sir."
"I will leave the office this afternoon. In this period, please take Jun's work temporarily."
The researchers should be testing the portal today.
If everything goes well, it will be the time to begin.
The "sacrifice" must be made for the better good. There is no turning back.
Abruptly, he felt a sharp pain in his back, he held his wounds right after.
"Ugh..." He touched his back with his right arm over the shoulders.
"Mr Yamanaka?! Are you fine?" The employee was shocked.
"I am good, it is just the slight injury I got yesterday. It takes some time to recover."
He remembered how he grabbed Jun and turned, the lance darted and wiped on his back, causing him to kneel with his right.
Origin of Destruction...this is not going to end so early. This will be settled one day.
Later, he stepped into the laboratory with a gigantic energy generator linked to a huge round-shaped ring. Numerous researchers were on the panels and observing the energy levels of operating machines.
"Mr Yamanaka, you came at the right time. We are about to start our test." Indren nodded at the researcher who welcomed him at the observation room.
"Let's begin."
As the generator kept rotating, the energy charged into the giant ring in the middle, which caused it to vibrate strongly with the gadgets.
In the groups of researchers, one of them murmured softly, nervously clenching his fists.
"Dr Amari..."
The energy continued to instil into the ring, everyone kept their eyes and hands moving.
"Energy level is stable." A researcher reported.
"Increasing to 50%. No abnormal readings."
"Continue. Keep reporting status in the meanwhile."
"Energy level 65%."
"Passed 80..."
The electricity emerged all around the machine, but the ring remained not ignited.
"100%. No observable reaction from the generators." One of them took a breath of relief.
"Last time we didn't imbue all the powers into the portal and it caused a great explosion. Now the energy level has been maxed out, and it remains closed?" The one on the main panel asked.
"That means we need a greater portion of energy to charge up the portal. Judging from the reactions after absorption, it seems we are far from completely charging up...that's what we can tell for now."
"That means we won't be able to finish it by today, unfortunately."
"And we need to write a ton of reports."
The researchers sighed in disappointment.
"Mr Yamanaka, we apologise for the results of the experiment. We will bring more energy generators and..." A guiding researcher spoke.
He noticed Indren's gazes were completely fixed on the portal and did not receive his news.
"Sir?"
"Yes?" Indren was being brought out of his thoughts. The researcher then tried to repeat everything. Indren did not mind his words.
"It is fine, I will come next week." He replied calmly. "It is best not to rush the project to prevent incidents like previously."
"Right, right..."
I thought he was going to be mad or something but he remained calm somehow...
The researcher felt relieved and led Indren out of the room.
At midnight, when everyone left the facility the moon was still. A shadow sneaked into the laboratory, a figure walked out of a purplish gate. The violet eyes glowed in the darkroom. He placed his hands on the metal ring. A memory flashed in his mind.
"This is a realm of mythicals, where only the ancient force of origins of the world and guardians exist." He remembered the words of that old voice.
"If what he said was true..." Indren spoke softly.
He closed his eyes, trying to feel the air around him. He could visualise the image of the other side where never-ending water fell from the colossus mountain, an enormous Colosseum and the training grounds of warriors, a gigantic tree which touched the blue sky, into a central place of a palace where tall statues faced opposite side by side. Finally, an old, armoured dragon watched him with firm blue eyes. He tried to disconnect from every thought of that dragon, only to find more and more images overflowing his head, the memories of his sincere face, even his speech, all moments became crystal clear. He yelled as the memories flickered in a flash. He opened his eyes as if the images collapsed like broken glasses, gasping heavily in a cold sweat. Soft gleams from the ring fell onto his face.
"I knew it would work after all."
He grinned, staring at the opened portal in overflowing energy at his front.

'Mini-Buddyfight Talk'
In the realm of the void, Indren and his followers gathered to fight against the black dragon.
"Origin of Destruction might be strong, but he is nothing compared to our master, our master can do the same as he did," Frithu commented.
"Partly correct, the Master's main power is 'Domination', not merely the ability to vanish," Cosmo said.
"Master's power is different from that black dragon, right?" Frithu was confused.
"Indeed, however, it is classified as the same type of power."
"How come?"
"Power of Origin, each origin has its speciality and abilities. Origin of 'Destruction' holds the strength to destroy and eliminate. Our lord, known as the Origin of Dominance, has the power to dominate over beings." Explained by Cosmo.
"I think I understand now." Frithu smiled with his jaw. "That's why our lord has absolute control over enemies' fields."
"Not just taking control, he can significantly weaken his enemies and disable opponents' abilities."
"Unbelievable..."
"He holds the power that we cannot reach, his views and perspectives are beyond our sight, and the incomparable knowledge and wisdom, that's our master."
"I don't quite understand what you are saying, but I think you're right."

~PREVIEW!~
"The threat of the dark and grey dragons shall not be underestimated"
"This incident needs to be taken seriously. If not, all of us will not survive."
"The power of those two illegal monsters is enough to destroy Japan three times in a row."
Tasuku and the other commissioners from different departments all came to a huge rounded table for a meeting.
Meanwhile, a notice was stuck to the door out of the classroom for Buddyfight Club, Kai and others were shocked to see the notifications.
"The usage of this classroom will be reorganised and permitted to...drama club?" Morihito read.
A tall boy in glasses walked nearby with his lines and lines of students in uniforms, blocking the way of Kai and his friends.
"Who are these people?" Kai said in a sweat.
"Student Council, I think they come here only for one reason," Kiyoshi replied.
"This person...wasn't he the one who approved our club?" Morihito spoke softly.
"I don't feel good about this guy," Xander said.
"I am here to notify you that your club will be disbanded by the end of this month." The boy fixed his glasses in a cold sight.
"What?! A disband?!" Kai yelled.
(Would Kai and their fellows solve the crisis of Buddyfight Club disbanding?)
