Sweet and Dark Heart: Chapter 12
"So…uhm…what would you like to do? Manga, anime or video games? I can stay for a while since I don't got anything else planned for today!" John said with a hint of nervousness as Natsuki huffed, with the massive woman trying to maintain her tsundere demeanor despite her Yandere feelings.
"Hmph, well since your taste in any of those awesome hobbies probably sucks, wanna play some video games or watch anime? We can always read manga in the club room." Natsuki said.
"I'd…I'd like that…" John said.
Natsuki had to act casual…but the reality is that she was ecstatic since the man she's obsessing over, has agreed to stay at her place for some time.
'Yes…yes…how I want to hold you close as we play video games…or watch anime. But for now at least…I'll settle for being shoulder to shoulder with you…' Natsuki thought to herself.
The two sat down on Natsuki's bed with the giant woman's heart pounding rapidly. Her fingers were trembling slightly which she tried her best to avoid John noticing it at all.
'He's here…here…in my bedroom…where that beautiful poem he wrote is framed…I never thought John would be here so soon…' Natsuki thought to herself as she put a disc into her Nintendo Wii.
"S-so…let's play some Mario Kart…I got everything unlocked since I'm the best at this game!" Natsuki said proudly, her tsundere nature kicking in.
John chuckled and as he waited for the game to boot up, he noticed a chipped frame in pink and white that showed his poem. John walked over to the poem and touched the frame.
'My…my poem…I knew that Natsuki liked it enough that she asked me for it….but to frame it…she really is sweet, more than she lets on…' John thought as his back is to Natsuki given where the picture is framed.
'Oh no…what if he thinks I'm a freak for framing his poem?' Natsuki thought as she began to worry.
"This…this the poem I did the other day! I…no one's ever liked something I made this much! It really means a lot to me!" John said, his shy demeanor shedding with his appreciation for how much Natsuki cared about his poem.
Natsuki blushed a bit at this, her heart fluttering from John's sweet and soft-spoken words.
'Stay calm Natsuki…stay calm…as much as you want to hug him and hold him close, just act like normal…' Natsuki thought to herself as she gave a small smile.
"Oh come on, don't get all mushy on me! It's…it's nothing much you know, it's just your poem on display, that's all!" Natsuki said.
John gave a warm smile and went back to the bed, then it was time for the two to game. The two played video games for a few hours, with them playing races, with Natsuki just barely beating John at the final race they decided to play. Afterwards, the two then enjoyed some chicken yakisoba that Natsuki made from scratch around one o'clock before watching some anime together. As they continued hanging out in Natsuki's bedroom, hours passed by easily as Natsuki and John bantered about the characters in the romance anime they saw, then it was about 6 o'clock and the front door opened.
'Great, the coward is home. I was hoping he wouldn't come home at his usual time tonight.' Natsuki thought as she sighed.
"Everything alright, Natsuki?" John asked.
"Yeah, I'm fine…it's just my lame dad is home…he's a bit…much." Natsuki said as she tried to not reveal much of how her father used to abuse her physically when she was younger.
"I…I see…I'm sorry…maybe I can win him over with my niceness!" John said as Natsuki let out a snort.
"Good luck…" Natsuki said.
The two of them went downstairs, with Natsuki's father, Mr. Himoto, doing a double take when seeing John.
'This stupid giant that made me afraid of her is bringing home a boy?! Just because she made me scared and fearful of her doesn't mean she can do whatever she wants! Let me run this twig friend of hers off.' Mr. Himoto thought to himself.
"Hey Natsuki, I'm home. Who's the twig boy with you?" Mr. Himoto asked as Natsuki's expression immediately darkened.
Natsuki looked beyond furious, since after all, not only did John just recently become her friend but also because her sad excuse of a father is insulting John in front of her. John on the other hand, understandably looked hurt, since he didn't even do anything to Natsuki's father and he wasn't even able to greet the man like he was planning to do. Natsuki took a quick glance at John and seeing his saddened expression made her Yandere feelings for him flare up ever so slightly.
'This pathetic so-called father of mine is insulting this amazing man? I should chew him out right here and now, but no, I don't want John to see my intensity…still, saying something so rude to John without even knowing him is so typical of him.' Natsuki thought as she then held her father's wrist.
"Excuse me a second, John." Natsuki said as she dragged her father to the kitchen so John was out of earshot.
"W-what are you doing, you oversized brat?" Mr. Himoto asked as Natsuki did a low growl.
"Listen here tiny. If you ever speak to John like that again…well…that broken nose you got is just a small taste. Apologize to John. Now." Natsuki whispered as her father's face paled, with the man nodding fearfully.
Natsuki walked back over to John with a smile on her face, with the young man returning a weak smile. Mr. Himoto walked up to John and even though he didn't want to apologize, he knew better than to get Natsuki angry.
"Erm…John was it…? I'm Mr. Himoto and…I apologize for my earlier behavior…" Mr. Himoto said, sounding as genuine as possible.
"It's…it's no problem sir. Uhm…Natsuki, I'll get going, I'll see you Monday, okay?" John asked as Natsuki frowned.
"Got it dummy…see you Monday…" Natsuki said as John waved to Natsuki and left the house.
