Spectre: It's been a long run but now we're at the final chapter of A New Hope! And I thank everyone who supported this fic and for all the reviews. Now, I am not immediatley going to the Empire Strikes Back, meaning the next chapter would be an interlude one while showing them fragments or corrupted Holovid files that would diverge further into the dark future.

Chapter 13: Battle of Yavin

The Death Star had achieved orbit over Yavin, and Tarkin and Vader were oberserving from the bridge.

"Orbiting the planet at maximum velocity." The deck officer reported. "The moon with the Rebel base will be in range in thirty minutes."

"This will be a day long remembered." Vader said proudly. "It has seen the end of Kenobi, and it will soon see the end of the Rebellion."

Tarkin agreed, but still maintained a healthy amount of concern. He hadn't reached his current position without a generous amount of doubt to keep him grounded.

The audience frowned at the Dark Lord for his declaration, but nonetheless placed their hopes onto Luke, in stopping the huge monstrosity from wiping the last hope of the galaxy that is the rebellion.

Anakin glared at the two who had caused the suffering of two people that he had gotten attached to, his son and Princess Leia. They had already killed Luke's family and taken away his mentor, and they had obliterated Leia's home planet as well as the deaths of Bail Organa and those who fought the Empire'a tyranny.

Now with Obi-Wan gone, he couldn't imagine what had happened with the rest of his friends, Rex and Ahsoka in particular. Because if the Empire and Vader had anything to do with lack of presence in this dark future, there will be hell to pay. And no one will stop him.

A few minutes later, Luke now dressed in a flight suit and holding a helmet of his own, turned a corner to see Chewie and Han loading boxes of credits onto an armored speeder.

"He's leaving, is he?", Ahsoka asked in a worried tone.

"I wouldn't expect less if he does.", Mace answered.

"So," he said, walking up to Han, "You got your reward and you're just gonna leave?"

"That's right." Han replied, brushing off Luke's anger, "I got some old debts I gotta pay off with this stuff. Even if I didn't, you don't think I'd be fool enough to stick around here, do ya?" he put another box on the speeder and turned back to Luke, "Why don't you come with us? You're pretty handy in a fight, we could use you."

"He's not like you, Solo!", Anakin growled at the man's mannerisms.

"Just as I was going like him. His skill and cunning inside and outside the ship is what I admire about him.", Kit Fisto admitted about the smuggler.

Ki-Adi sighed. "But you cannot blame him since he was only caught in the crossfire."

"It is still unnerving that he valued Credits over the freedom of the galaxy.", Shaak Ti added in a disappointed tone. The rest felt the same at the course Han chose.

"Come on! why don't you take a look around.", Luke replied in a harsh tone. "You know what's about to happen, what they're up against. They could use a pilot like you, but you're turning your back on them."

"What good's a reward if you ain't around to use it? Besides, attacking that battle station ain't my idea of courage. It's more like, suicide.", Han finally said.

"Yeah, well, take care of yourself, Han. I guess that's what you're best at, isn't it?" Luke walked off in a huff.

"Luke!" Han called out, stopping him. "May the Force be with you." Luke nodded at the wink that Han gave him and waved at him in return, before moving on. Chewie growled at his partner at seeing this.

"What are you looking at?." Han asked, grabbing another box. "I know what I'm doing."

A few minutes, later, Luke and Leia met in the hangar.

"What's wrong?" Leia asked.

"Ah, it's just Han." Luke said, trying to play it off, "I don't know, I really I thought he'd changehis mind."

"Luke, Han's got to follow his own path. No one else can choose it for him." Leia said.

"I only wish Ben were here." Luke said sadly. Leia smiled and kissed Luke before heading off with the other leaders.

Luke had finally reached his ship when a familiar voice called out to him. He turned to see Biggs Darklighter dressed in the same pilot outfit he was wearing.

"Biggs!" Luke said, wrapping his old friend in a massive hug that was returned in kind.

"I don't believe it! How are you?" he said happily. "Are you coming up with us?"

"I'll be right up there with ya, and boy do I have some stories to tell you."

"Are you Luke Skywalker?," another pilot asked, Garven Dreis, "Have you checked on the Incom T-sixty-five?"

"Wait a minute, I know him somewhere!", Anakin pointed out, receiving a look from his master.

"You do, Anakin?", Obi-Wan asked.

"Garven Dreis. We flew together during the Battle of Virujansi."

"Sir, Luke one of the best push-pilots in the Outer Rim territories." Biggs vouched for his friend.

"I met your father once when I was just a boy, he was a great pilot. You'll do all right. If you got half your father's skill, you'll do better than all right.", he encouraged Luke.

"It seems Master Skywalker's fame at being a pilot serves as a lasting legacy for the Rebellion.", Plo Koon said, feeling proud for the Jedi Knight.

"Called the Hero with No Fear for nothing, he was not.", Yoda agreed

Anakin looked down bashfully about Luke. "He doesn't have half my skill. He inherited all of it!",

"Thank you, sir. I'll try." Luke said as Garven went back to his own ship.

"Listen, I've gotta get aboard. But once we get back, you're gonna tell me all your stories when we come back. Alright?"

Luke smiled. "I told ya I'd make it someday."

"You did all right." Biggs grinned, "It'll be just like old times, Luke. We're a couple of shooting stars that'll never be stopped!"

Anakin smiled at the bond that Luke made, a parallel to that of his and of Obi-Wan at some way.

As Luke climbed a ladder to get in his own starfighter, he saw Artoo being lowered into a slot behind the cockpit.

"Hey, this Artlo unit seems a little beat-up." One of the technicians said, "You sure you don't want a newer model?"

"Not on your life." Luke replied, "That little droid and I have been through a lot together. You okay there, Artoo?" the droid whistled in response.

"Not just you, kid.", Anakin smiled before it faded at the realization. "If only I could tell you about my own adventures with him..."

Anakin felt two hands placed on his shoulders, and he turned to see both Padmé and Obi-Wan, giving him a comforting smile.

Luke grinned as he climbed in.

"Hold on, Artoo, you've got to come back." Threepio pleaded as the astromech droid was locked into place. "You wouldn't want my life to get boring, now would you?"

"Despite the odds between them, they formed a friendship like no other.", Luminara observed of the two.

One by one, the fighters began to lift into the air and float out of the hangar, their sub-light engines seeming like fireflies once they broke the atmosphere.

"Luke, the Force will be with you." Ben's voice said in Luke's head as he made his way into the void.

"Always with him, Master Kenobi is.", Yoda mused with a chuckle, knowing that Obi-Wan would still guide Luke in his journey.

Leia and Threepuo walked into the situation room of their base and stood before a large disk. It showed the relative positions of the moon and the Death Star as they orbited Yavin, along with the effective firing range of the Death Star's primary weapon.

"Stand-by alert." A voice said over the intercom, "Death Star approaching. Estimated time to firing range: 15 minutes."

In the void, the strike force broke into squadrons based on fighter classification, with the Y-shaped fighters in one group, and the fixed wing fighters in another.

"All wings report in." Red Leader ordered as they began their approach on the Death Star. One by one they answered.

"Red Ten, standing-by."

"Red Seven, standing-by."

"Red Three, standing-by." Biggs said.

"Red Six, standing-by."

"Red Nine, standing-by."

"Red Two, standing-by." Wedge Antilles said nervously.

"Red Eleven, standing-by.

"Red Five, standing-by." Luke said.

"Here's hoping that Luke is just like his father.", Rex stated in support for his General's son.

"Lock S-foils in attack position." Garven ordered when everyone was accounted for. One by one, the wings of their fighters split down the middle, forming the shape of an X. "We're passing through their magnetic field." Garveb said as they hit a patch of turbulence. "Hold tight! Switch your deflectors to double front."

"Look at the size of that thing." Wedge said as the fighters moved closer.

"Just how much credits do you think required for the construction?", Ki-Adi asked rather curiously.

"Planets or Moons apparently.", Mace answered in a non-chalant tone, as they all watch in sheer silence at the battle that could decide the fate of the galaxy.

"Cut the chatter Red Two!" Garven ordered. "Accelerate to attack speed. This is it, boys!"

"Red Leader, this is Gold Leader."

"I copy, Gold Leader." Garven replied.

"We're starting for the target shaft now."

"We're in position. Go for it, we'll try to draw their fire."

The X-Wings peeled off from the Y-wings and went in closer. They were able to easily dodge the incoming turbolaser fire, darting about nimbly while the Imperial troops inside desperately tried to zero in their cumbersome guns.

"This is Red Five, I'm goin' in." Luke said before angling his fighter down in a divebomb, his X-Wing's laser cannons going full burst.

"Luke, pull up!" Biggs called over the radio. "Luke, are you okay?!"

"I got a little cooked, but I'm good,."

The audience breathed a sigh of relief. Luke definetly takes up from his father if he was this reckless to begin with.

Within the Death Star, troops were running all over the place. A military officer quickly found Darth Vader to relay the situation to him.

"My Lord," he said with a bow, "We count thirty Rebel ships out there, but they're so small they're avoiding our turbolasers."

"We'll have to destroy them ship-to-ship. Get the crews to their fighters." Vader ordered.

"Oh no...", Ahsoka muttered in fear for her Master's son.

"He had already taken Master Kenobi. I fear the worst for young Luke.", Luminara added in worry. Anakin on the other hand, couldn't bear to see Luke becoming one of Vader's victims.

"Have faith in him, Master Unduli. The Force is with him.", Obi-Wan assured her.

Outside, the battle was heating up for Red Squadron.

"Watch yourselves," Garven said, "There's a lot of fire coming from the left side of that deflection tower."

"I'll take care of it." Luke said.

"I'm going in." Biggs said, "Cover me Porkins."

"I'm right with ya, Red Three." The fat pilot said. They quickly buzzed the tower, firing as they went, and destroyed it.

"I really hope that's his real name and not a nickname." Caleb whispered to his master, who giggled a bit.

"I got a problem here." Porkins said.

"Eject." Biggs told him.

"I can hold it." he said.

"Pull up!" Biggs yelled, seeing that he couldn't.

"No, I'm al-AGH!" his fighter blew up in a gout of flame, for seemingly no reason.

"The Rebel base will be in firing range in seven minutes." The bridge officer said as Tarkin tensely watched the unfolding battle.

"They have a few minutes left. And their presence is needed, and fast.", Shaak Ti urged, fearing the worst.

"Squad leaders," the commander back on the Rebel moon said, "We've picked up a new group of signals. Imperial fighters headed your way."

"My scope's negative, I don't see anything." Luke said, checking his radar.

"Keep your eyes open." Garven ordered, "Here they come." Half a dozen TIE fighters descended upon the rebel fighters, breaking formation to engage in one-on-one fights."Once you pick one up, watch it!" Luke warned.

"I can't see it! Where is he?!" Biggs yelled. "He's on me tight. I can't shake him."

In the hangar, Vader walked up to a pair of pilots. "Several fighters have broken off from the main group. Come with me." He ordered, leading the pilots to a different hangar.

"Do you think he has caught on?" Ahsoka whispered to Rex.

"More likely he's just reacting as best he can." He replied.

"Pull in, Luke! Pull in." Biggs said as a TIE fighter began tailing Luke.

The enemy managed to hit one of Luke's starfigher, but thankfully, he didn't blow up.

"LUKE!", Anakin, Ahsoka and Padmé called out to him. But to their relief, he was all right.

"I'm hit, but not bad. Artoo, see what you can do with it. Hang on back there!" Artoo whistled as he began to perform what maintenance he could.

"Red Seven, can you see Red Five?" Biggs asked.

"Negative, barely able to dodge all this fire." Red Seven replied "Red Five, where are you?"

"I can't shake him!" Luke yelled.

"I'm on him, Luke. Hold on." Wedge said, gaining sight of Luke.

He didn't have to wait long before another X-Wing screamed past his directly at his pursuer and blasted him to bits. "Thanks Wedge."

"Red Leader, this is Gold Leader." Gold Leader relayed, "We're starting our attack run." The Y-wings soared into the trench, dodging laser fire left and right. "The exhaust port is marked and locked in. Switch all power to front deflector screens. Gold Five, how many guns do you think there are?"

"I'd say about twenty. Some on towers, some on the surface."

"This is even riskier than the time I did this.", Anakin recounted at that memory when he was nine years old.

"As said earlier, this is a near-suicidal bombing run. And they would need luck if they're gonna get through this.", Plo Koon said in a grim tone.

They continued to dodge laser fire as the Death Star passed the five minute mark.

"Switch to targeting computers." Gold Leader ordered. A metal box moved forward and dropped into position next to his eye. It displayed his distance from the target ticking down and a pair of vertical lines moving closer together. No sooner had they switched did the lasers cease fire.

"They suddenly stopped.", Kit Fisto noticed.

"No. This isn't a ceasefire...", Anakin said while gritting his teeth, feeling something bad is going to happen.

"The guns, they've stopped." Gold Five said. A growing anxiety blossomed in Gold Leader's gut. Why? Why would they let up their suppressing fire? It was likely that the enemy analysts had figured out their attack pattern, and if that were the case, the best option would be toincreasethe barrage, not stop it completely. What the hell were they playing at?

"Stabilize rear deflectors." Gold Leader ordered. "Watch for enemy fighters."

"Here they come!" Gold Five reported. "Three marks at 210!"

A pair of TIE fighters flanked another fighter with a different wing design.

"Stay in attack formation. I'll take them myself." Vader ordered.

"You've gotta be kidding me!", Anakin cried out while holding the sides of his head.

"At the worst time of all places...", Obi-Wan muttered.

The enemy trio fell in behind their quarry and waited. Once Vader had acquired a lock, he fired on the Y-Wing on the left, destroying it.

"It's no good, I can't maneuver!" Gold Leader said out loud.

"Stay on target." Gold Five said.

"We're too close!"

"Stay on target!"

"Loosen up!" Gold Leader ordered before Vader turned his guns on him and he was no more.

"Gold Five to Red Leader." He said as he pulled out of the trench. "Lost Gold Leader, lost Hutch. They came from behind- " was all he could get out before Vader finished the job.

"So Vader is also a skilled pilot in his own right. This cannot be good..", Saesee Tiin said grimly, inwardly admitting the Dark Lord's superiority over him.

"If he was able to defeat several fighters in a matter of moments, he is a force to be reckoned with.", Plo Koon added.

On the bridge, the deck officer walked up to Tarkin, who was far more relaxed now that Vader was out there and the battle seemed to be going in their favor.

"We've analyzed their attack, sir, and there is a danger." He told him, "Shall I have your shuttle standing-by?"

"Evacuate? In our moment of triumph?" Tarkin looked at the man as if he had taken leave of his senses, "I think you overestimate their chances."

The audience all had one thought: your arrogance will be your undoing.

Anakin and Ahsoka in particular, wanted to see Tarkin pay for all that he had done; to the Padawan, to Princess Leia and to all those who died on Alderaan.

"Rebel base three minutes and closing."

Outside, Garven took overall field command. "Red boys, this is Red Leader. Rendevous at mark 6.1"

"This is Red Two, headed your way."

"Red Three standing by."

"Red Leader, this is Base One. Keep half your group out of range for the next run." The commander ordered.

"Copy that, Base One. Luke, take Reds Two and Three. Hold up here and wait for my signal to start your run."

A trio of X-Wings began their run and it went much the same as Gold Squadron's run; they were bombarded but easily dodged the turbolasers, which promptly stopped after a time. However, this time, Red Squadron was ready.

"Here we go...", Rex said in ancitipation.

"A lucky shot and it's all over.", Ahsoka added.

"Keep your eyes out for those fighters." Garven said.

"There's too much interference." His wingman said, "Red Five can you see them?"

"Not yet," Luke said, scanning the trench line, "Wait, there they are."

"Come on, Luke. Keep your head in the game...", Anakin urged his son.

"I see 'em." The wingman said while Garven activated his targetting computer.

"Almost in range, just hold' em off for a few seconds." Garven said, looking into his targeting computer.

As Garven closed in on the objective, Vader's squad tightened up their formation while Vader himself took aim. Vader took one down, then one of his wingmen took out the other, leaving Garven on his own. But they had bought him enough time. His computer went off and he fired his torpedoes.

"X away!" he cheered, pulling out of the trench as the torpedoes exploded, rocking that section of the Death Star and sending the crew there falling to the ground.

"Red Leader, please confirm." The commander ordered.

"Negative." Garven reported, "Negative. It didn't go in. Just impacted on the surface."

Luke looked down and saw the modified TIE fighter on Garven's tail. "Red Leader, we're right above you. Turn to point 05, we'll cover you." he said.

"Negative. Hold your position, I just lost my starboard engine. Get set up for your attack run." He ordered. Vader fired and hit him in one of his engines. Garven yelled as he struggled to keep his X-Wing in the air. The last Luke saw of him was an explosion that tore across the surface of the station as he crashed.

"Just how much does that this man hold?!", Ahsoka called out in frustration. He had been responsible for the death of her master, wiped out the Jedi Order, killed Master Kenobi, and is clearly a formidable starpilot for Luke to handle.

"Too much if he has done too many. I can only hope the Force would be able to assist them..", Plo Koon added, also worried for the Rebels because of Vader's presence.

Anger and loss filled Luke, but he pushed them aside, knowing that he was the Rebellion's last chance at destroying the Empire's greatest weapon.

"Rebel base, one minute and closing." Tarkin smiled to himself. Victory was within his grasp and he could almost taste it.

"Biggs, Wedge, let's close it up." Luke said, taking charge of what was left of the strike force. "We're going in, but do it at full throttle. That oughtta keep those fighters off our tail."

"Right with you, boss." Wedge agreed.

"He is an aspiring pilot...", Plo mused for the young pilot, resulting of Saesee Tiin raising an eyebrow.

"How so, Master Koon?", he questioned.

"You will see."

"Luke, at that speed will you be able to pull out in time?" Biggs asked.

"Be just like Begger's Canyon back home." Luke said confidently as they dived into the trench.

"Think they can pull it off?" Rex asked Ahsoka.

"They will." She assured him, hand on her chin, "But the current precedent isn't exactly in their favor."

"We'll stay back far enough to cover you." Biggs said, making a few adjustments.

"My scope shows the tower, but I can't see the exhaust port." Wedge said, "You sure the computer can hit it?"

"Increase speed to full throttle." Luke ordered as they entered the worst of the bombardment.

"What about that tower?" Wedge reiterated.

"You worry about those fighters! I'll worry about the tower." Luke retorted. "Artoo, that stabilizer's broken loose again! See if you can't lock it down." The droid whistled as he got to work.

When the towers stopped firing, Wedge and Biggs began looking around for the fighters while Luke got set up for his shot. On cue, the enemy trio came up behind them and one of the wingmen took a shot at Wedge. It hit, but didn't destroy him.

"I'm hit!" Wedge said, looking at the damage readout. "I can't stay with you."

"Get clear, Wedge. You can't do any good back there." Luke ordered.

"Sorry." Wedge said as he peeled out of the trench, leaving only Biggs and Luke against Vader's squad.

Anakin and Padmé watched as Luke and his friend were facing off Vader, who is a clear adept at his role as a pilot. The Jedi Knight clenched his fist, hoping nothing would happen to his son.

"Let him go. Stay on the leader." Vader ordered.

"Make it fast, Luke." Biggs said with worry evident in his voice, "They're coming in much faster this time. I can't hold 'em myself."

"Artoo, try and increase the power!"

"Luke, hurry- wait. Wait!" Biggs said, struggling to make needed adjustments before Vader fired and blew him up too. And now Luke was alone. He dodged as best he could while turning on his targeting computer.

Everyone in the audience grimaced at the young pilot's fate. Now they are all worried as Luke had Vader to deal with, alone.

"Use the Force, Luke." He heard Ben's voice tell him. He ignored it, focusing on the computer. "Let go, Luke."

"Hmmmm. With him, Master Kenobi is.", Yoda assured them.

The audience were brightened at hearing old Obi-Wan's voice, now giving Luke the advice he needed at these dire times. Anakin's hopes increased as he heard his Master's voice guiding Luke, now confident that he would be able to pass through this.

Vader frowned behind his mask. "The Force is strong with this one." He said to himself.

"Luke, trust me." Luke thought about all he had learned and been through. Ben hadn't led him wrong yet. Maybe it was time he put his money where bis mouth was and started really trusting the Force. He pressed a button and her targeting computer retracted.

"Come on, Luke! You can do it!", Ahsoka cheered for the young pilot.

"He's turned off her computer." one of the rebel officers pointed out, "Luke, what's wrong?"

"Nothing, I'm alright." he replied through the coms. Vader took a shot at him, but Artoo took the hit. "Artoo!" Luke yelled as his droid friend screamed in pain.

"ARTOO!", Padmé and Anakin cried out for the droid, now seeing that Luke lacked the technical he needed. Anakin barely held his anger, now seeing that Vader added another deed to his belt that earned him his hatred

"Rebel base in range."

"You may fire when ready." Tarkin ordered. The fire control room set to work preparing to fire the Death Star's main cannon.

The audience were now deseperately hoping that a some sort of miracle from the Force would arrive. In any form. They couldn't bear to see another planet destroyed, even more to to the rebellion that acted as a Beacon of Hope.

"I have you now." Vader said as he gained a lock on Luke. He was about to fire when one of his wingmen blew-up. "What?!"

"Yeah-hoo!" Han cheered as the Falcon came into view. Vader's other wingman lost control in the confusion, and accidently ran into Vader's ship before crashing himself. The Dark Lord's star fighter helplessly spunned out of view from the impact as a result.

"HE CAME BACK!", Ahsoka shouted in joy, as Caleb jumped in excitement. The rest were surprised at the sudden turn of events, and appreciated his timely arrival.

"It seems money isn't his only friend.", Kit Fisto mused, proud that the smuggler changed his mind.

"Oh, thank the Force.", Obi-Wan breathed out in relief.

"You're all clear, kid! Now let's blow this thing and go home." Han said over the Rebel radio, surprising even Leia.

Luke fired and watched as the torpedoes entered the shaft. He let out a breath he didn't know he was holding and quickly got the hell out of dodge, Han and the remaining two fighters right behind him.

"Wait a minute, is Admiral Yularen still there-oooh...", Rex began before he soon realized of what was going happen. Anakin, Obi-Wan and Ahsoka exhanged awkward glances at one another, now knowing that Luke had probably killed Admiral Yularen along with Tarkin.

It was a price to pay. Hopefully, they can prevent the Admiral's future service with the Empire in the present. And as well as to prevent his death at the Death Star.

As they cleared the halfway point, the Death Star exploded with such force that it created a second blast wave, barely visible after the first.

"YES!!", Anakin stood up and cheered with his fists in the air at seeing Luke achieving the impossible, something that he couldn't possibly even do. The audience applauded as the son of the Chosen One ensured the hope of freedom for the galaxy.

"Outstanding. Simply outstanding!", Luminara praised as she clapped at Luke's performance.

"I'd give Luke a medal if I ever met him.", said Rex in a proud tone. No clone has ever performed such feat, and that impressed him very much. Especially if it's the son of his General.

"To young Skywalker, proud I am.", Yoda stated with a chuckle.

"He has too much of his father. And that alone saved countless lives.", Ki-Adi added, proud of this young pilot.

"Tarkin is dead. All those who died on Alderaan are avenged.", Mace said with finality, knowing that traitor is no more in this future.

"Great shot, kid. That was one in a million!" Han praised.

"Remember, the Force will be with you, always." Ben's spectral voice told him.

Upon his return, Luke was greeted with a hero's welcome, Leia running up to hug him. He had built up such speed that Luke couldn't resist picking her up his spinning her around. Han soon made his way to them.

"I knew you'd come back! I just knew it!" Luke said happily, throwing a hug on him

"Well, I wasn't gonna let you get all the credit and take all the reward." he said, giving Luke a nooggie.

"I knew there was more to you than just money." Leia said with a smile.

Their smiles all fell as Artoo was lowered to the ground. "Oh, man." Luke grimaced. Artoo was, in a word, fucked. He was covered in blaster burns and several of his panels hung open, revealing the components within. Threepio was probably the most distraught.

"Oh my! Artoo! Speak to me!" he turned to a technician, "You can fix him can't you?"

"We'll get to work on her right away." He assured Threepio.

"You must repair him!" He turned to Luke. "Sir, if any of my circuits or gears would help, I'll gladly donate them."

"Same old Threepio.", Padmé mused with a smile.

"He'll be alright, Threepio." Luke assured him before walking off with Leia, Chewie and Han.

A few days later, a grand ceremony was held within the base. The entirety of the Rebellion on the planet was gathered within the largest hall, organized by occupation, with Leia and the other leaders standing on a raised dais. Luke, Chewie and Han walked down the aisle created by the Rebels, Luke and Han in front, with Chewie bringing up the rear.

"To think Luke would be a hero like his old man.", Obi-Wan mused teasingly towards Anakin, who looked down bashfully.

"That's how Skywalkers do, Obi-Wan!"

Chewie growled as he called out as the trio reached the base. On command, the rest of the Rebels turned to face the dais. The trio reached the top, staying one step down. Leia stepped forward and regarded the three people who were now essentially galactic heroes. She gave Luke a big smile, but when Han did the same, her smile was more polite than anything. The Old General stepped forward with a trio of medallions, one for each hero, which Leia herself placed around their necks. When she finished, all three bowed to her.

The audience couldn't help but applaud at this as well, seeing that there is still hope even with the Jedi extinct. Anakin allowed a small tear to leave his eye, knowing that he is proud of his son in this future, even if he was not there to see it. Padmé discreetly held his hand, feeling a sense of pride as a mother to Luke as well.

The ceremony was briefly interrupted when Artoo whistled loudly and wobbled out from behind a newly shined Threepio. All four chuckled at his antics before turning to face the assembled Rebellion. They were met with jubilant applause and cheers as the scene changed to the final credits.

AN:So that ends Part One of the OG Trilogy! Once again, I'm thanking all those who support this fic! RR if needed!
