Sneaky Jealousy – Kai X Hilary
The living room was chaotic as usual. Everyone was either checking their blades, arguing about strategies, or just goofing off. Hilary, however, was caught between Max and Tyson, both of them laughing their heads off about some ridiculous joke Tyson had cracked.
"Come on, Hilary, you've got to admit it was hilarious!" Tyson grinned, practically slinging an arm over her shoulder.
Hilary giggled. "Okay, okay! It was funny."
Max joined in, giving her a side hug. "See? Told you she'd laugh."
Kai, sitting silently in the corner with his arms crossed, watched the scene unfold. His eyes darkened slightly. Tyson's arm had lingered too long. Max was way too comfortable. And Hilary? She wasn't even bothered.
Of course, she wasn't. She was always bubbly, always friendly. That was just Hilary.
Still, something inside Kai stirred unpleasantly.
Hilary caught the faint twitch of his eyebrow and knew instantly. Oh, he was jealous.
Max, completely oblivious, poked Hilary's cheek. "Hey, you should help us prank Ray later!"
Hilary chuckled. "Depends on the prank."
Tyson grinned wider. "It's a good one. You'll love it."
Kai clenched his jaw. He could practically feel his patience snapping.
Moments later, the group split up, some heading to the kitchen, others getting ready for a quick practice battle. Hilary slipped away quietly, pretending to go grab something from her room, but in reality, she knew exactly who would follow.
And he did.
As soon as she entered the empty hallway, she felt him behind her. Before she could even turn around, a strong hand gently grabbed her wrist and pulled her into the nearest empty storage room.
Click.
The door locked behind them.
"Kai—" Hilary started, but before she could finish, Kai had pressed her back against the wall, hands on either side of her head, his body towering over hers.
"You're enjoying this, aren't you?" His voice was low, sharp, but not angry—just simmering with jealousy.
Hilary blinked up at him, playing innocent. "Enjoying what?"
Kai narrowed his eyes. "Them hanging all over you."
Hilary's lips curled into a teasing smile. "They were just being friendly."
His expression darkened further. "You didn't seem to mind."
Her heart raced, not out of fear, but because she loved this side of him—quietly possessive, desperately trying not to show how much he cared. "You're jealous," she whispered.
Kai leaned in, lips brushing against her ear. "Maybe."
Hilary shivered.
Kai's hand slid down her arm, gripping her waist firmly, pulling her impossibly closer. "They don't get to touch you like that."
Hilary's breath hitched as his lips grazed her jaw. "No?"
"No," he whispered against her neck, kissing it softly.
Hilary's hands instinctively grabbed the front of his shirt. "Kai…"
He pulled back slightly, meeting her eyes. His jealousy was written all over his face, but so was the desperation underneath it. Without another word, he leaned in and kissed her deeply, stealing her breath away.
Hilary melted immediately, kissing him back, fingers curling into his shirt. His lips were hot and demanding, leaving no room for doubt about how much he hated seeing her with someone else.
His hands explored, one resting on her lower back, the other brushing dangerously low along her hip, earning a surprised gasp from her.
"Kai…" she whispered, cheeks heating.
"I warned you I don't like sharing," he murmured against her lips, pressing deeper kisses along her neck.
Hilary arched slightly into him. "You're ridiculous," she breathed, but her voice betrayed how much she enjoyed every second.
Kai chuckled darkly. "You love it."
Her playful glare was short-lived as Kai's hand cupped her cheek while the other stayed firmly on her waist, keeping her pinned. His kisses slowed, turning softer but no less intense. Hilary whimpered softly against his lips when his thumb brushed along her exposed skin under her shirt.
"You like teasing me?" Kai whispered, voice hoarse.
Hilary nodded faintly. "A little."
Kai smirked and leaned in to nip at her lower lip. "Then deal with the consequences."
Their lips crashed again, more urgent this time. Hilary clung to him, her arms sliding around his neck, pulling him closer. Kai's hands roamed, settling lower than was strictly appropriate, making Hilary gasp against his mouth.
"You're going to kill me," she murmured, breathless.
Kai hummed against her neck, pressing a slow, dangerous kiss right below her ear. "Not yet."
The storage room was filled with soft gasps and stolen kisses. His lips moved against hers like he was trying to make up for every second he had to watch her laugh with someone else. His jealousy poured into every touch, every kiss, every heated glance.
Hilary couldn't lie—she loved it. The way his usual icy composure melted into something fiery and reckless just for her.
Eventually, they both pulled away slightly, their foreheads pressed together, panting.
"Feeling better now?" Hilary teased, still catching her breath.
Kai glared half-heartedly. "You're insufferable."
"But you love me," she whispered sweetly.
Kai's smirk softened into a rare, genuine smile. "Unfortunately, yes."
Hilary laughed quietly before pecking his lips one last time. "We should go before someone notices."
Kai sighed but nodded. "You're not getting away that easily next time."
Hilary winked. "Looking forward to it."
As they both quietly slipped out of the storage room separately, no one seemed to have noticed a thing. Tyson was still goofing off, Max was still scheming pranks, and everyone was clueless.
But Hilary caught Kai's eyes across the room.
And that little smirk on his lips told her exactly how serious he was about next time.
