Dragon Eye of the Beholder Part 1

Three years have passed since the war with the Berserkers, everyplace around the archipelago was in peace, even Outcast Island. In its prison an Outcast guard was giving pieces of bread to the prisoners who were in most Berserkers that stayed in the island after the final battle, there were also some Outcast that betrayed Alvin

"Meal time, maggots" the Outcast guard said as he tossed some breads into the cells. However, he tossed something different to one cell in specific, something that didn't go unnoticed by one of the Outcast prisoners

"But that's not bread!" he complained "Why does he always get special treatment? Oh, Mt. Big Shot! Mr. Berserker Chief!"

Inside of the cell, there was Dagur the Deranged himself who changed during the years, he now looked more muscular and deranged than he did three years ago

Dagur stood up and walked towards the bars of his cell "Oh, hey, you want some?" he said as he extended his hand with some food "Come here, I'll give you some"

The Outcast prisoner didn't look convinced at first, but he reached out for the food just for Dagur to grab his hand and slam his face onto the bars of the cell

"I've been meaning to tell you something for the last three years… your voice is really annoying" Dagur said before slamming the Outcast prisoner's head onto the cell bars once again, leaving him unconscious"Gosh, that felt good"

Dagur cracked his neck before picking up what the Outcast guard tossed into his cell, in was a key, so he opened his cell and walked out

He easily approached another guard and left him unconscious too, so he made his way towards two more guards who were talking with each other

"A woolly igloo?" one of them laughed

"Where did you hear that?" the other guard laughed too

Dagur knocked their heads into each other, leaving them unconscious too. He was about to exit but a guard saw him

"He's escaping! Dagur got out!" The guard yelled

Dagur groaned annoyed before picking up a bludgeon and hitting the guard with it. However, the guard managed to give the alarm voice, so more guards appeared to stop Dagur

"Oh, goddie… a challenge!" Dagur said as he picked up a second bludgeon

Dagur charged towards the guards and easily started to defeat the guards once by one, something that made some Berserker prisoners cheer for their chief

"Get them, Dagur!" one of them cheered

"Show them who's boss!" another one cheered

Then, one more guard was left, he was the only one blocking Dagur's way out

"No, no, Dagur, don't!" the guard begged scared "I'm the one that gave you the key"

"Which makes you a traitor" Dagur said as he smiled and dropped the bludgeons

For a moment, the guard smiled as he thought that Dagur would spare him but he got punched in the face

"I hate traitors" Dagur added before removing the metal bar that kept the door locked, he left without releasing any of the prisoners, he even left other Berserkers in there

When he was outside, he saw a ship unmanned, so he smiled evilly as he knew he found his way out of Outcast Island

"It's a new day, Hiccup" Dagur said to himself "Hope you're well rested"

Meanwhile at Berk during the morning, Hiccup and Toothless were flying above the sea

"Okay, bud, let's try the new move" Hiccup said, so Toothless nodded and start to flew higher

"Yeah!" Hiccup cheered "That's it, Toothless! Push it"

They both seemed to be enjoying themselves, even Toothless smiled

"You've got it, go higher!" Hiccup said, before hearing a click "What the-"

The click came from his harness, the one that kept him on Toothless' back, so he started to fall back to the ground

"Oh no… not again!" He yelled, before looking at Toothless who didn't seem to notice what happened "Hey, Toothless!"

Toothless turned around and dived to get Hiccup. However, he just kept diving next to his rider, such as nothing happened

"So… just plummet or… uh… any ideas?" Hiccup asked, so Toothless dived lower and caught Hiccup on his back

"I seriously have to get my own pair of wings" Hiccup said as he reattached his harness to Toothless' saddle, who growl when hearing his ridder's words "Oh, quiet you… Don't even start"

They flew back to Berk as some of the Vikings wave them a hello. In the three years after the war with the Berserkers lots of things changed

Gobber gave Snotlout the title of"Official Weapons Tester", which meant all weapons were tested with him

Hiccup flew above them just as Snotlout was launched into the air by a catapult

"It works!" he cheered

He was supposed to land in a pile of pillows but he was going to land in a cart full of weapons that the twins placed, to the annoyance of everyone, the twins decided to devote their lives to Loki, so it was common to see them playing pranks on others

"Hookfang! Hookfang!" Snotlout yelled as he realized where he was about to land

Luckily for him, Hookfang saved him on time "There will be repercussions for this! Repercussions!" Snotlout yelled as his dragon flew away with him

The twins didn't care, they just hi fived each other before walking away

Then, Hiccup and Toothless flew above Berk's plaza, where Fishlegs was, he now dedicated himself to teaching the children of Berk the"History of Dragons"

He was with some children who were riding on Meatlug's back

"And if you look closely at the walls of the Great Hall, you'll still see some puncture marks where the Speed Stingers attacked" Fishlegs said as he gestured at the Great hall "Interesting fact about those dragons-" he stopped when he saw Stoick and Gobber walking near them "Look, kids! We're in luck… here come two of Berk's most famous heroes"

Stoick and Gobber looked proud of themselves

"Heroes? I've got some chiefing to do, but I guess I could spare a moment-" Stoick started

"Hiccup and the amazing Toothless!" Fishlegs interrupted as the children saw how Toothless did a loop in the air

"Eh… to introduce my son as his Night Fury" Stoick continued, trying to hide his embarrassment

Hiccup and Toothless flew away and met up with Astrid and Stormfly

"Hiccup, I've been chasing you since the armory" Astrid said

"Well, I thought we'd try out far north today" Hiccup said

"Can we talk about something first?" Astrid asked

"Yeah, sure… if you can catch me" Hiccup said before Toothless flew faster

It took her a while, but she caught up with Hiccup on a sea stack, he was looking around with his spyglass

"You know what? I'm just going to say it… I have a good feeling about today"

"You say that every time we go searching for new dragons" Astrid said

Hiccup didn't answer, he was too focused in what he was doing

"Hiccup, while we have a second… I wanted to talk to you about-" Astrid started

"Look, look, look!" Hiccup interrupted as he tossed Astrid his spyglass "You see it? There's definitely some movement up ahead. Long neck, large head… behind that rock formation"

Before Astrid could answer, Hiccup and Toothless flew towards the rocks, so she only sighed annoyedly

"This is it, Toothless. A new species of dragon, bud" Hiccup said

Hiccup's excitement turned into disappointment when he realized the dragon he saw was Barf and Belch, with the twins

"Loki'd!" they yelled

"Ha! You totally thought 'Barch' was a new dragon" Tuffnut laughed

"Oh, come on! Did not" Hiccup said in both annoyance and frustration "Let's go, bud"

Hiccup and Toothless flew off, leaving the twins and their dragon

"Wow, who yanked his mutton?" Tuffnut asked

Hiccup and Toothless landed at a sea stack, Hiccup was still frustrated, so Toothless nuzzled him to comfort him

Then, Astrid landed behind them

"Hiccup, those guys are muttonheads" she said "But you have to admit… we've visited every island, every sea stack and every rock in the archipelago… twice, and we haven't spotted a new dragon in a long time"

"This can't be all there is" Hiccup said "There has to be something more out there"

"What if there isn't? What if the search is over?" Astrid asked

"It can't be" Hiccup said

"Well, it's over for me" Astrid said, taking Hiccup by surprise "Stormly and I are joining the Berk Guard" Astrid explained

"T-That's great… I'm happy for you" Hiccup said but it was obvious he was not happy

"Look, maybe you should give a thought to what's next for you and Toothless" Astrid suggested as she flew away on Stormfly

Hiccup started to think in Astrid's words, he realized it was true that all of his friends have dedicated themselves to something… well, all of them but one

Hiccup smiled once again, knowing he still have someone left

Meanwhile with Blake, he was in his room, packing his stuff. He didn't have much either, just his spear, his dagger and just a few more things that were either gifts from his friends or letters from his father

Then, he grabbed a drawing that Hiccup gave him, in the drawing all of the riders were smiling with their dragons

Blake couldn't help but to smile when he saw it as he thought about how time passed, he also changed with the years

He still had his usual hair style and he also never hid his one eye blindness, Alvin always told him that scars were part of his history as a warrior and that he should be proud of them and they shouldn't be hidden

He now used a black shirt along with black pants and brown boots, he also looked slightly more muscular than he used to be

"You know, Thunder… I will miss it here, don't you agree?" Blake said as he turned around and looked as his Skrill Thunder who nodded in agreement

"So many good memories" Blake said as he placed the drawing inside Thunder's saddle bag

Then, Hiccup and Toothless landed outside of the forge and walked in

"Hey, Hiccup… let me guess, another search for a new dragon" Blake said

"Yeah, you're right, and I've got a good feeling today" Hiccup said as he noticed how Blake was packing his stuff "Why are you packing your stuff? We won't be out for that long, just for a few hours"

"This time I will not go, Hiccup" Blake said

"What?" Hiccup asked

"I won't go, that search is over for me" Blake said

"But why?" Hiccup asked, still in shock

"We have searched for so long and we haven't found a new dragon" Blake said "I won't go today"

"You got a point, but maybe tomorrow we will find something" Hiccup said as he felt how his options started to end

"I won't go tomorrow either, I won't even be here tomorrow, at least not for long" Blake said, but he continued before Hiccup could answer "Listen, I'll move back to Outcast Island"

"You are? But you haven't even talked to Alvin in years" Hiccup said

"Uh… actually, he and I have talked" Blake said "Remember when I left after I recovered all of my memories? I went to talk with him"

That took Hiccup by surprise, he expected anything but that

"We have also sent letters to each other and I have gone to visit him… I don't know how you didn't notice" Blake said as he gave Hiccup some of the letters that Alvin sent him

Hiccup started to read them and realized what Blake saying was true

"Listen, maybe if we go out one more time and look for a new dragon we'll-" Hiccup began, trying to find a way to convince Blake to stay

"I'm sorry, Hiccup" Blake interrupted "I already made my choice… Alvin and I worked things out and we are father and son again, and like so I'm the heir of the Outcasts again"

"What about everyone else? Have you told them? You can't just leave without telling them something" Hiccup said

"I told them, they all accepted it and looked happy for me" Blake said "I even told Gobber and even though it was harder for him, he supports my choice"

"And why you didn't tell me?" Hiccup asked

"Because I was sure you'd try to convince me to stay and wouldn't accept it, and I wasn't wrong" Blake said as he placed a hand on Hiccup's shoulder "I'm sorry, I really wanted to tell you… I will leave tomorrow"

Hiccup didn't answer, he just walked away feeling both sad and disappointed

The next morning, Bucket and Mulch were out fishing, Bucket was trying to pull a net onto the ship

"One on… Mulch, I can't get it!" Bucket said as he struggled

"What's the problem, Bucket?" Mulch asked, feeling confused since it was not normal for Bucket to struggle with the nets

"I'm not sure, Mulch… I can't raise the net, something's pulling at it" Bucket said, before looking at Mulch "Do you think-"

"Sea Monster!" they yelled

Something came out of the water, making Bucket and Mulch scream but they stopped when they realized it was just the twins along with Barf and Belch

"Loki'd!" The twins laughed

"You-" Bucket started, but he stopped himself when he saw someone else was riding on Belch's neck "Johann?"

Bucket was right, Trader Johann was on Belch's neck looking really weak and somehow was still conscious

"Help me" he said weakly

"Aw, man. You should have seen the looks on your faces, priceless" Tuffnut said, not realizing about Trader Johann

"Full Loki!" the twins said

"Bet you never saw a full Loki coming, am I right Johann?" Tuffnut said as he looked at Trader Johann, finally realizing about his presence "Johann?"

Meanwhile with Stoick, he was having lunch at his house until Hiccup entered

"Hiccup, what are you doing home so early?" Stoick asked, feeling confused

"I was just… wanted to spend some time with my dear old dad" Hiccup said as he leaned against the wall near Stoick, who didn't look convinced at all "Yeah, you know, we never get to talk anymore… so"

"All right, what is it?" Stoick asked. Of course, he knew his son too well to tell something was bothering him

"What's what? Can't a son spend some quality time with his father?" Hiccup asked

"Not this one, not usually at least" Stoick said "So, let's hear it"

Hiccup sighed and sat in front of Stoick "Alright, did you know Astrid joined the Berk Guard?" he asked

"I heard that, good for her" Stoick said as he took a sip from his drink

"And that Blake will move back to Outcast Island?" Hiccup asked

"He told me, I bet Alvin will be happy to have him round once again" Stoick said

Hiccup sighed once again as he continued "And the other riders have got their different things going on"

"What are you saying, son?" Stoick asked

"I'm saying, I don't know… maybe it's time for me-" Hiccup got interrupted when the twins entered while carrying Trader Johann

"Johann! What happened to you?" Stoick asked as he got up and walked towards them

"Dagur" Trader Johann answered weakly

"What about Dagur?" Hiccup asked

"He's out, he's more berserk than every" Trader Johann said "And from the way he was talking… Hiccup, you are number one on his revenge list"

That's the last thing he said before passing out

Minutes later, all of the riders were reunited at the academy, standing in front of a map of the whole archipelago

"All we got out of Johann before he passed out was this: Dagur escaped from Outcast Island by commandeering his ship, he threw Johann overboard about here" Hiccup explained as he pointed at the sea near Outcast Island "Blake, you have any ideas about how he managed to get out?"

Blake thought for a moment before answering "The prison at Outcast Island is really well guarded… the only way I can think of for Dagur to escape is that there are still some Outcasts loyal to him, and he got help from them. I will have to talk with my father about this when I see him"

"So, you're saying Dagur could be anywhere by now?" Snotlout asked

"Well, technically, yes" Hiccup answered

"Oh, great! Great! Great!" Snotlout complained "So that just leaves… I don't know, let me think about it… the entire ocean to search! No, thank you"

Then, Trader Johann entered and walked towards them "Master Hiccup" he said

"Johann, you're awake" Hiccup said

"And feeling much better, tank you for asking. More importantly, I have more than a strong suspicion where our nefarious foe may be heading" Trader Johann said as he pointed at a part of the map that was covered by fog

"Outside the archipelago?" Hiccup asked

"No! just inside the fog bank on out outer group of islands" Trader Johann explained

"We've never been out that far" Hiccup said, not being sure if it was a good idea

"When Dagur commandeered my precious ship, he also came into possession of a very important map, one that leads to a graveyard of ships hidden in that fog back" Trader Johann explained

"Wow, that's the first place I'd go" Snotlout said

"If I may be allowed to finish" Trader Johann said, staring to get annoyed

"Johann, last time we allowed you to finish we ended up on Breakneck Bog, so no" Snotlout said, with the memory fresh in his mind

"Enough!" Hiccup scolded, before looking back at Trader Johann "What's so special about the graveyard and why would he go there?"

"Well, you see-" Trader Johann began

"The short version, please" Hiccup interrupted

"It's where I store all my treasure and wares" Trader Johann continued, feeling slightly disappointed

"Wow, concise, to the point… who know he had it in him" Tuffnut said, just before Trader Johann continued

"Which reminds me of the first time I was labeled 'concise', He was a young man, very ugly, actually-" he said

"Uh, Johann" Blake interrupted "Sorry to interrupt you, but… is there anything else we should know about that graveyard of ships?"

"As a matter of fact, there is one ship you most avoid at all cost, it's called… The Reaper" Trader Johann said "Riddled with traps from stem to stern. Barely made it out with my lode the only time I dared venture aboard"

"Okay, Toothless, let's go" Hiccup said before looking at the other riders "Unless, of course, any of you can make time out of your busy schedules to capture a dangerous maniac?"

"You guys go ahead, I have to talk with my father first" Blake said, before getting on Thunder's back "We'll meet you on the way there"

Later that evening, all the riders but Blake were on their way to the fog bank, something that neither Hiccup and Toothless couldn't help but to enjoy

"This is pretty great, huh bud?" Hiccup asked, so Toothless growled in agreement "Seems like forever we flew as a group"

Then, he looked back at the other riders who were flying behind him

"Let's see how rusty they are. V formation!" Hiccup said, so the other riders flew in a perfect V-shaped formation

"Hiccup, you really believe we're that rusty?" A voice asked, it was Blake who just caught up with them

"Blake, I thought it would take you longer to arrive" Hiccup said

"I thought that too. Luckily for me, my father understood why I can't return to Outcast Island for now, so he agreed to delay my move there" Blake explained "He said that I'm still young and should enjoy it while it lasts, so I'll stay in Berk longer"

Hiccup couldn't help but to smile when he heard that, but then Hookfang ignited himself and flew past them "5,000 pounds of flaming muscle coming through!" Snotlout said

"Ever a class act" Hiccup said as he shook his head "But I missed this"

"I'll be honest, I missed this too" Blake said

Later that night, the riders finally arrived at the fog bank and didn't take them long to find the ship graveyard, there where ships from all tribes and island, such as the Berserkers and the Outcasts, there were even some ships from Berk

"I knew it, I knew there was more" Hiccup said

"Some of the ships… I've never seen anything like them before" Astrid said, noticing how some ships didn't belong to anyone she or the other riders knew on the archipelago

"Okay, everyone, fan out, if you see any trace of Dagur send a signal" Hiccup ordered, so all of the riders split up and start searching

As Astrid and Stormfly flew, she started to get nervous

"It's all right, Stormfly… nothing to worry about" Astrid said, trying to comfort her dragon but she was also slightly nervous

Fishlegs seemed to be having the same problem with Meatlug

"Don't be nervous, girl. We don't want you to-" he got interrupted when Meatlug threw up some lava "Do that, ugh!"

Blake didn't have that problem with Thunder. However, he looked down and started to growl

"What is it, Thunder?" Blake asked as he looked down but he saw nothing "Let's keep going"

Blake patted his dragon's side to calm him down, so they continued to fly but he started to get suspicious of whatever Thunder saw

Snotlout and Hookfang didn't have trouble either. In fact, Snotlout was really interested in the ships

"Ha! Hookfang, these guys were awful sailors" He laughed just before slamming into the mast of one of the sunken ships, so he was knocked of Hookdang's saddle "Ow, a little help here"

Hookfang looked at him and stuck his tongue out, not caring at all about his rider

"Hookfang! I saw that look! What did we talk about?!" Snotlout said angrily

Hiccup and Toothless kept flying until they saw a ship that matched with the description that Trader Johann gave them about the Reaper

"That's got to be the Reaper" Hiccup said as he kept flying

Minutes later, all of the riders landed at a ship

"No sign of Dagur" Hiccup said

"Looks like we got here first, what's the plan?" Astrid asked

"We wait" Hiccup explained

"Fow how long? There's no guarantee that Dagur will come and we can't stay here forever" Blake said

"He's right… this place really gives Meatlug the willies" Fishlegs said

"Besides, Johann's treasure is still here and we can't just leave it" Blake added

"You're right, Dagur will just steal it" Hiccup said

"Not if we steal it first" Ruffnut said

"That's the dumbest idea I've ever heard, I hereby disown you" Tuffnut said

"Actually, you know what? I sort of like it" Hiccup said

"Welcome back to the family" Tuffnut said as he looked at Ruffnut

"Here's the plan, we set the ships, gather Johann's treasure and take it back to Berk. But keep your eyes open for Dagur, he could show up at any time" Hiccup said just before a hissing sound was heard

"What is that?" Astrid asked

"Eh, has Dagur's voice changed?" Tuffnut asked

Hiccup looked over the bow of the ship and saw how giant eels were starting to surround them

"Eels! Everybody, get on your dragons before they get spooked and take off!" he said

"Oh, hold me, Meatlug" Fishlegs said as he was hidden under Meatlug, but she flew away just like the other dragons, except Toothless and Thunder. The first because he couldn't fly on his own and the other because he is not as scared of eels as the others

"Hookfang!" Snotlout called

"Stormfly!" Astrid called

Suddenly, one eel managed to get on board, so Toothless growled fearfully

"Calm down, but… it's just a couple of eels" Hiccup said as he tried to calm Toothless down

"Really big ones" Blake said as he got on Thunder's back "Lightning blast!"

Thunder quickly shot his lightning blast at the eel, scaring it off. However, the other eels started to warp themselves around the ship

Toothless and Thunder quickly flew up with their riders but the others were getting pull down with the ship

"The eels are pulling the ship down!" Fishlegs yelled

They started to slip down but Snotlout managed to grab the mast of the ship, or what was left from it

"Fishlegs, grab my foot!" Snotlout said, so Fishlegs grabbed to his foot "Ow… you ate a full breakfast or you ate everybody's breakfast?!"

Then, Ruffnut grabbed onto Fishlegs' foot, Tuffnut to hers and Astrid to his

"We're gonna live!" Tuffnut said but as soon as he finishes, Astrid lost ger grip and fell towards the water

"Astrid, no!" Hiccup yelled as he dived towards her

"Hiccup!" Astrid yelled

Once in the water, Astrid quickly found herself in trouble since some of the eels spot her and were about to attack her

Astrid pulled out her axe ready to defend herself but just before the eels get could get her a plasma blast passed between her and the eels, scaring them off, so Hiccup and Toothless entered the water

Hiccup grabbed Astrid's hand and got out of the water, landing at another ship where Blake and Thunder took the other riders to safety

"Thanks, Hiccup" Astrid said as she got off Toothless' back

"Pardon me, does anyone else think that Johann could have warned us about… I don't know, the giant screaming eels?!" Snotlout asked angrily

"Snotlout, would you relax? The dragons will be back" Hiccup said "In the meantime, we stick with the plan, we find Johann's treasure… quietly"

Then, Astrid noticed how Hiccup was looking at the Reaper

"Why are you staring at that ship?" she asked

"For the love of Thor don't tell us you're planning to explore it" Blake sighed both tiredly and annoyedly "Johann warned us, that ship is full of traps"

"Exactly… I'm thinking, what is in there they don't want people to find out?" Hiccup asked

"I'll go with you then" Blake said "If that ship is really full of traps like Johann claimed, you might need some help"

Hiccup nodded before they both rode their dragons to the Reaper, landing on deck shortly

"This boat is definitely not from the Archipelago" Hiccup said as soon as they landed

"And take a look at this" Blake said as he walked towards a cage "Is this cage even made of metal?"

Blake did a hand gesture to Thunder, telling him to shot a lightning blast at the cage, which he did. When the lightning blast hit the cage, it got electrified, meaning that it was indeed made of metal

"Yeah, it's metal… but I have never seen this kind of metal before" Blake said, looking closely at the cage

Both Toothless and Thunder sniffed another cage and growled at it

"Come on, guys, it's just an empty cage" Hiccup said

"Not really" Blake said

Before Hiccup could say anything, a seagull flew out, scaring him in the process, so Toothless looked smugly at his rider while Thunder contained his laughter

"Okay, now it's an empty cage" Hiccup said

"Next time, don't speak too early" Blake said with a chuckle

Meanwhile, the other dragon riders were looking in different ships, the twins were in one full of jewels

"Jewels, jewels! You know what we're going to do? We're bringing them back for the family. Mum will be so proud" Tuffnut said happily as he tried to carry as many jewels as he could "Wait, how are we going to carry all these back to Berk?"

Ruffnut only opened her mouth as an answer, revealing that it was full of jewels

"Great idea, sis! I can't believe I didn't think about that. I may do it too" Tuffnut said but instead of putting some jewels in his own mouth, he started to put them in Ruffnut's mouth "I'm also gonna put jewels in your mouth, I got to keep mine empty so I can talk"

Ruffnut didn't protest. Instead, she encouraged him to keep putting jewels in her mouth "Keep them coming, keep them coming" she said

Meanwhile with Fishlegs, he found something different

They found a room full of old books, maps, charts and other stiff

"Oh, yeah! Fishlegs!" Fishlegs said to himself as he looked around "Maps! Old Books! Charts! There is no greater treasure than knowledge"

He was definitely enjoying himself in there, unlike Snotlout

He was in another ship, which seemed empty but that didn't seem to bother him

"I'm gonna be rich!" he said to himself "I'm gonna be rich! Rich! Rich! Rich!"

Then, he saw a chest and walked towards it "Well, hello, Mr. Ornate Box… what treasure do you hold?"

Snotlout opened the chest, hoping it had some kind of valuable treasure, but when he opened it, he saw fake hair and felt disappointed

"Hair?! Who keeps hair in a box?!" Snotlout asked, feeling both disappointed and disgusted "There's got to be more"

He kept looking but he only found more fake hair "More hair?! What a rip-off!" Snotlout said but then he saw a picture of two Viking women with hair similar to the one in the chest "Or is it?"

Snotlout grabbed some of the fake hair and placed it on his face, to make it look like a beard

"I'm Stoick the Vast! Hiccup, you're such a disappointment! Why can't you be more like Snotlout?" Snotlout said, pretending to be Stoick before placing the hair on his helmet "Actually, this is kind of nice"

Back with Hiccup and Blake, they were still on the Reaper until Hiccup found a hatch that would lead them below deck. However Toothless didn't look convinced

"Come on, bud, don't you want to see what's down below?" Hiccup asked but Toothless just growled as an answer

"Alright, fine" Hiccup sighed as he opened the hatch, but the moment he did it a rope made him fall and started to pull him across deck

Hiccup only managed to grab the first thing he could, which was Blake's leg, making him fall and being pulled as well

Luckily, Toothless shot a plasma blast at the rope, releasing Hiccup and Blake

"Okay… we should have seen that coming" Blake said as he got up before helping Hiccup

"You're right… but, nobody goes to this much trouble unless there's something on this ship that they don't want found"

"We better prepare ourselves" Blake said as he pulled out his spear, while Hiccup prepared his shield

They both walked back to the hatch and looked down

"Okay, guys… watch your steps" Hiccup said as he first walked down the ladder

The moment Hiccup stepped on the floor below deck, a bear trap got triggered, but luckily it got his metal leg

"One benefit of a metal leg, I suppose" Hiccup said as he opened the bear trap

"Indeed. Who would've said it?" Blake said

They kept walking until they encountered some cells, both Toothless and Thunder approached one and looked uncomfortable, so their riders walked towards the same cell and saw the bones of a dragon

Both dragons whimpered, so their riders tried to comfort them

"I'm sorry you had to see this, bud" Hiccup said as he patted Toothless' head

"I'm sorry too, Thunder… if I had known I would have asked you to wait outside" Blake said as he petted Thunder's head

"Well, whoever commanded this ship was certainly no friend of dragons" Hiccup said

"Agreed" Blake said

They kept walking until suddenly, Blake pulled Hiccup back

"Careful!" Blake said

"What is it?" Hiccup asked

"Stay down and near to the wall" Blake said before looking at Toothless and Thunder "You two too"

Hiccup, Toothless and Thunder were confused but they did as Blake told them, allowing him to step on an odd-looking plank

When Blake stepped on that plank, a trap got triggered, lot's arrows were shot all around the room. Luckily, Hiccup and Blake were unharmed, the arrows that passed close to them were either stopped by Hiccup's shield or by their dragons

A few moments later, there were no more arrows

"How did you know that was going to happen?" Hiccup asked

"That kind of trap is a classic among Outcasts" Blake said "You'd be surprised if I told you how many of them there are"

They kept walking until they saw a door, which was closed and was a little shiny

"The commander's quarters… stay close, guys" Hiccup said

Blake nodded as an answer as they got closer

"Okay, so here's the plan-" Hiccup started before Toothless shot a plasma blast at the door to open it "I like yours better"

They entered commander's quarters, but he was nothing more than bones. They looked around for a few moments until Hiccup saw something on the commander's desk

"What is that thing?" Hiccup asked as he started at some kind of cylinder

"Well, I don't know but one thing is sure… we can't leave it here just for Dagur to find it" Blake said

"You're right, we can't leave it here if it's important" Hiccup said before slowly picking up the cylinder from its pedestal "Huh, well, that wasn't too-"

Suddenly, an axe hit the table where his hand was "Giant axe!" Hiccup said

"We need to get out of here, now!" Blake said

No other word was needed, they were about to run away but some spikes came out of the ground and blocked their path. Luckily, Toothless and Thunder were able to help them jump over the spikes

As they were running through the hall, more and more arrows were shot at them, so Hiccup had to block them with his shield until they arrived at the ladder

When everyone was out, both Hiccup and Blake slammed the hatch closed. However, it didn't take them long to realize they were not alone

Dagur was there, along with some Berserkers aiming their crossbows at them, so Hiccup quickly hid the cylinder behind his back

"Hiccup! Did you miss me? 'Cause I sure missed you. Every say for three years I thought about you" Dagur said before moving aside, revealing how the other ridders were trapped in one of the cages

"Astrid!" Hiccup gasped as Dagur looked at Toothless

"And you too, Mr. Night fury!" he said, before looking at Blake and Thunder "As for you two…"

"If you put a hand on my dragon, you can consider yourself dead!" Blake said as he prepared his spear

"I don't have interest in that Skrill of yours anymore, I don't like him and I neither like you" Dagur said but Blake didn't believe a single word

"Sorry, Hiccup" Astrid apologized "He got the drop on u while we were searching-"

"Quiet!" Dagur interrupted "Can't you see my brother and I are having a moment?!"

"I'm not your brother and we are definitely not having a moment" Hiccup said as he glared at Dagur

"Well, I was" Dagur said before noticing how Hiccup changed "Look at you, all grown up! And quite the ladies' man, hmm?"

"Dagur, what do you want?" Hiccup asked

"Duh, he was the jewels!" Snotlout said, as he was using the fake hair he found

"He's not getting my family's jewels, no way! I'll protect them at all costs" Tuffnut said before noticing Snotlout's hair "Also, what is with that hait?"

"It's royal hair, I'll have you know" Snotlout said, brushing it from side to side

"Haven't gotten rid of the Greek chorus I see" Dagur said before facing back at the cage "Anyway, I'll take the jewels… his too"

One of the Berserkers his Ruffnut's stomach with his crossbow, making her spat all of the jewels out of her mouth

"Watch it, pal!" she said, making the Berserker laugh but he stopped when Ruffnut spat one more jewel straight into his mouth, making him choke

"Oops, thought that was the guy, never can tell with those two" Dagur said

"It's really clear who is who, Dagur" Blake said as the Berserker who was choking managed to spit out the jewel, hitting Dagur in the process but he was busier looking at Hiccup

"And I'll also take whatever it is you're hiding behind your back" Dagur said as he got closer to Hiccup, so Toothless growled at him but Dagur didn't care "Come on, hand it over like a good boy… brothers share, you know"

As the other Berserkers aimed their crossbows at them, Hiccup didn't have a choice a but to give Dagur the cylinder

"You know you're not going to get very far with that thing, right?" Hiccup asked

"Here we go" Dagur said as he pulled Hiccup towards him "Why do we must always do the same dance, Hiccup? You and I… not that you're a fabulous dancer"

Neither Toothless and Thunder were happy with how things were going, so Blake had to hold both dragons back, knowing that if they attacked that could not end well for them or the ridders

"Easy, bud… not yet" Hiccup said as he managed to release himself from Dagur's grip and help Blake to hold Toothless down

"That's right, Mr. Night Fury… today is not the day, but it's coming! And soon" Dagur said happily "Now, if you'll excuse me, I've got people to see, an army to build, revenge to plot-"

"Can you get to the point already?!" Blake interrupted

Slightly annoyed, Dagur looked back at Hiccup "Well, my time here has come to an end… farewell for now, brother" he said "Until we meet again in the field of battle"

Dagur and the Berserkers with him got off the Reaper and got on their own ship, so Hiccup and Blake ran towards the cage where the other riders were

"Forget about us! Go after him!" Astrid said

"What are you waiting for?!" Snotlout asked

"We can't just leave you here!" Hiccup protested

"You go for Dagur! I'll stay and help them out!" Blake said

Hiccup nodded and quickly got on Toothless' back and chased after Dagur's ship but he was obviously seen by the Berserkers

"Here they come, sir, just like your said" a Berserker said

"Sill predictable, aren't you brother?" Dagur asked as one of the Berserkers armed a catapult and aimed at Hiccup and Toothless "Fire!"

The Berserkers fired the catapult but Toothless easily dodged the boulder

"You missed, 'brother'" Hiccup said

"Hiccup, you should know by now… I never miss" Dagur said

Hiccup quickly realized what Dagur meant, but he could only see how the rock slammed through the Reaper, so it started to sank with the other riders still in the cage

Blake was trying to force it open with his spear but it wasn't working and to make things worse, thanks to the ships angle he was also starting to fall, he only managed to grab on to the cell with one hand

"What's it going to be, Hiccup?" Dagur asked "Catch me or save your friends? Ooh, tough one! Glad I'm not in your shoe"

Dagur and the other Berserkers started to laugh, Hiccup knew he had to make a choice and fast
