parting gift?" asks Galadriel
Faron nods in agreement.
"Of course My Lady." says Faron
Galadriel gently lays a hand on Faron's shoulder.
"You have spent to much of your life in sorrow and despair. It is time for you to come into the light once more, and allow your heart to heal. You have a long life ahead of you. Do not let the darkness of the past fill you so. You have so much left to live for." says Galadriel
Faron replies with a smile.
"Thank you My Lady. I will hold what you said close, and I appreciate your help." says Faron
"You are welcome. I am just happy to see with us once more. Now go in peace we await your return." says Galadriel
Faron bows to Galadriel before getting in the boat with Legolas and Gimli. Charlotte watches as they leave with Faron looking once more at her brother's which she is leaving behind. Before they are gone Charlotte hears Faron converse with her husband.
"Are you alright?" asks Legolas
"I am fine. I am just thinking things I should not be. I have a bad Feeling." says Faron
"Do you want to talk about it?" asks Legolas
Faron collects herself with a sigh.
"I have a Providential Feeling that I will not live long enough to see my brothers again." says Faron
"You have the gift of Foresight?" asks Legolas
"Yes not as strong as Moriel, but I do have that gift." says Faron
"You will see them again lass you'll see." says Gimli
"Indeed I will, but not all of my brothers Gimli." says Faron
Legolas nods in acceptance of all that was said while Faron gives Gimli's hand a squeeze in thanks. Gimli and Legolas talk for a while longer, and then they are gone down the river.
Charlotte goes to visit the Elves of Forodwaith, and when Charlotte gets to the bay of Forocel she sees the missing Palantri. Charlotte takes one to her Queen for safe keeping, and the other one Charlotte takes to Lorien, and the last one is laid to rest in the Halls of Imladris. Charlotte then goes back to the Forodwaith to visit with the Elves living there. Charlotte spends the rest of the war visiting with these remarkable elves leaving only when she must be there to help defend her home. Charlotte is using the second exception to the promise she made to Ulmo for the final war against Sauron. At the end of the War of the Ring Charlotte returns home to Lothlorien to find Aragorn standing in the family Tallen looking solemn, somber, and grief stricken. Charlotte runs to Elros for the strength to hear the news. Charlotte sees her father holding Krystal close to him for comfort and solace against the foreboding feeling filling the air around them. The silence ends with the most heartbreaking news possible.
"It is my solemn duty to inform you that Faron was killed in battle at the Black Gate." says Aragorn
Everyone in the room gasps with pain visible on every face, and Haldir collects himself enough to speak for the group.
"Tell us about our sister's funeral Aragorn." says Haldir
"Faron's funeral will be held shortly after they get to Erebor which is why I left at the same time as Gimli and Legolas to tell all of Faron's loved ones." says Aragorn
"I see...please tell Lord Celeborn and Lady Galadriel what has happened so we may attend the funeral together." asks Haldir
"I will. Until we meet again Haldir." says Aragorn
Haldir nods to Aragorn as he leaves the Tallen heading in the direction of the Palace.
Aragorn has finished telling all of Faron's loved ones in Lothlorien, and now is going to Imladris to tell Lord Elrond, and his family the news of Faron's death. When he gets to Imladris Arwen can immediately tell that something is very wrong. Aragorn tells Arwen that he needs to speak with the entire family, and Arwen goes to speak with her father as well as her brothers. They are all in Lord Elrond's study when Arwen begins the conversation.
"What have you come to tell us Aragorn?" asks Arwen
"I have come to inform you that Faron was killed in battle at the Black Gate. Faron asked me to tell her loved ones what happened, and ask them to come to Erebor for the funeral before she died." says Aragorn
Pain is plainly visible on everyone's face, and Arwen embraces Aragorn for comfort while she weeps for this terrible loss. Some time later everyone collects themselves, and begins preparing to go to Faron's funeral. When all of the preparations have been made Elrond and his family depart for Erebor. At the same time Aragorn is making his way to Ered Luin. As soon as Aragorn arrives in the settlement Aragorn asks for directions to Tauriel's house. When the Dwarf gives him directions Aragorn thanks him with a nod, and then heads in that direction. When he arrives at the house Aragorn knocks on the door, and waits for Tauriel to answer. When Tauriel answers the door the smile drops off her face upon seeing the solemn look on Aragorn's face. Tauriel ushers Aragorn into the house, and once he is seated goes to fetch Norithil like she usually does around this time.
When Tauriel returns with Norithil they take a seat across from Aragorn, and Tauriel begins the conversation.
"What has happened to bring you to Ered Luin looking so solemn Aragorn of the Dunedain?" asks Tauriel
"I have come here to inform you that Faron was killed in battle at the Black Gate." says Aragorn
Tauriel collects herself from the pain filling her heart.
"Where will Faron's funeral be taking place Aragorn?" asks Tauriel
"Faron asked Gimli to take her home to Erebor so she may be placed in a tomb near her parents and brothers." says Aragorn
"I see...since Gimli most likely left immediately we do not have much time to get to Erebor if we are to arrive in time for the funeral." says Tauriel
Aragorn nods the affirmative to Tauriel, and then leaves to make his own way to Erebor. When Aragorn returns to Minas Tirith he finds Gandalf is still there waiting for something. Aragorn approaches him, and invites him to the funeral, and then goes to talk to Boromir. Boromir helps Aragorn prepare to go to the funeral as a Lord of Gondor. Back in Ered Luin Tauriel goes to tell Moriel what has happened, and then returns home to finish her preparations. Once all of the preparations have been made Tauriel and her son leave Ered Luin with Celebrimbor and Moriel accompanying them.
Lady Galadriel and her family arrive at the Gates of Erebor for their loved ones funeral. When the other guests have arrived they are taken to the room where Faron is laying in State, and after the viewing they are taken to their rooms to rest after their journey. Lady Galadriel's thoughts drift from the last of her memories of Faron to the Demi-God she saw standing next to Legolas. As she is thinking over everything that she has observed the memories of her best friend begin to drift into her mind. Artanis begins to suspect that this red haired Demi-God has some kind of important connection to her best friend Anise who went to stand before the Valar never to be seen again. After some time of restful contemplation the funeral begins, and at the end of the service in the catacombs Lady Galadriel sings 'Into The West' a lament for her lost foster daughter. As soon as the song ends Charlotte looks around, and sees that there isn't a single dry eye in the place. When all of the mourners have dried their eyes collecting themselves as much as they can all but a few leave the catacombs to go to the honor feast.
Charlotte and her family feast in Faron's honor, and then return home to the Woods of Lothlorien. After an acceptable amount of time Charlotte watches a Ranger leaving the Golden wood, but thinks nothing of it going to find Silwen seeking comfort from her friend. Charlotte is comforted greatly by Silwen, and when she is able Charlotte leaves to spend a year in NĂºmenor with her friends. On the return journey a year later Charlotte is thinking about all of the things that have happened since she got this new life, and Charlotte finds that she doesn't regret a single thing that she has done.
