Nathan pov.
I arrived in the middle of Greenwood to see Jon get launched into some cars. He spits out blood and wipes it from his lips as he stands back up.
"Nathan that you kid?" he asked.
"Yeah…need some help?" i asked.
"Yeah…this guy pretty fucking tough for someone who used to be a backstreet rat." he said. I got a good look of what we we're dealing with. He had glowing red veins all over his body. A third demonic eye right on his forehead. He had a black and red spear and shield and finally a halo floating above his head more akin to a crown of thorns. He didn't say anything just charged at us. Any trace of the human within this guy was long gone…consumed by the same monster he ate to gain such power. His focus was solely on jon. He used his shield to keep me at bay. But thanks to him targeting jon i was able to land a good few blows on his back. However my presence was soon no longer ignored as flying axes came at me out of seemingly nowhere. Making it difficult to get in and strike neil. I slid under another oncoming axe grabbed a hold of it and slammed it right in neil's back he screamed in pain and rage and threw me back. And it was obvious he was done with both of us as a storm of swords came raining down on both me and jon. He protected me by a barrier. That barrier was soon broken by neil's claws as he grabbed us both by the heads. And started to squeeze both are heads. His arms long enough so that we can't reach the main body. At least that's what he thought. Here's a thing about my laser blades. They're not just scythes…they double as whips. With one swing of my arm. The laser blade met neil's neck and decapitated him. My head was pounding. A second later my skull would be squishing my brain right now. As me and jon lied on the ground catching our breaths. He bursted out laughing.
"Good work kid…my daughter was right about you…if this was the city. You'd be a color fixer fast." he said with a smile. However this fight wasn't over as something spouted from the guy's body an insane amount of extremely large guts and bone forming into a massive creature..
"Oh shit…that's even bigger than the abno that destroyed my branch of lobotomy corp…this thing is the combined malice of all those of the city…one massive distortion." jon explained the creature roared loud enough to shatter windows and rupture ear drums. It brought it's massive down on us but we managed to dodge it. The question was how the hell do we take out something this big? My answer came in the form of an a giant ice golem punching it in the face sending it flat on its ass. On the ice golems shoulder was a woman wearing purple with multiple swords.
"Those two couldn't have chosen a better time to get back from their honeymoon." jon said. The two giants traded blow for blow. Even when the massive distortion pulled a trick like turning it's arm into a flesh covered blade. The ice titan dodged. And when weird skull projectiles came it's way. The woman in purple would slash them with her sword. When the giant distortion went for the ice titan's head with it's claws. The ice titan however countered by grabbing it's arm and the other and then ripping them both off and then kicking to the ground. It screamed as a ton of those skeleton skulls came out of it's body rushing at every living thing they could. Especially us. Me jon and the woman in purple slashed away at them all and charged towards the defenseless massive abno and stabbed it. And ran across it with our blades in it's body and with one combined final slash. We cut the creatures head off. It screamed as it's entire body began to melt into blood. I sat at the closest spot not soaked in blood and sat down. Taking a breath of relief that this madness was over.
jon pov.
"Quite the kid you found huh?" kori asked after returning to his normal size form.
"Yeah…just a few months and that kid has went from squire to being a guardian. Quite the fast up the ranks." I said. The guardians are a special task force of the garden consisting of those with EGOs led by gebura. Only those who manifested their own unique EGO like philip or xiao can become a guardian. And because of this. There's not a lot of them in the guardians. But quality certainly makes up for quantity in this case. I notice the kid revert back to his normal form and pass out.
"So what should we do with this little hero?" iori asked picking him up with a child carry.
"Take him back to his father who is at the refugee camp…lucky brat. He gets to sleep through this while the rest of us has to clean up the mess and rebuild…we're gonna be busy for a while." i said with a sigh.
"What about lobotomy corp? You think their finally done for?" kori asked.
"Considering there desperate plan to get their hands on sarah failed. And the last of their resources went into it. Safe to say this is the last time we'll ever deal with their agents ever again." i said.
"Goes to show the desperation when their plan insists on using a teenage girl as a breeding stock. Quite disgusting." iori said.
"But not surprising…it's the city after all. Where everyone is out for themselves and money is the only thing that matters…it's why i created the garden in the first place. So good folks force to live in that hell can get away from the crooks the greedy corps and all the shit everyone had to put up with…" i said.
"It's why you called this place you created the garden…many would consider it a garden of eden…now i'll take this boy to his father. While you two get to work cleaning this place up." iori said.
Three days later/nathan pov/?
I was standing on top of what looked like bright clouds, everywhere I looked was a golden light.
"Where am i? Am i dead?" i asked myself. I continued to look around when my eyes stopped on a feminine figure a few feet away, I walked towards them and I saw their back was turned to me. "Excuse me? Where am i?" i asked. The figure didn't say anything, instead, they slowly turned around, I just watched them as they turned towards me, and when I saw their face...I froze. It can't be…but it is.
the person right in front of me, that brown hair that looked as soft as silk, those deep coffee brown eyes, that light skin complexion and the way they postured themself as if they were at a fancy banquet, there was no doubt about it.
"Mom?" i asked. But once i said it. I knew it was her. Maria richardson. My mother who died years ago.
"Hello Sweetheart, oh its been so long, look at how big you've grown up." she said
"Bu- but you're dead, how am I speaking to you right now?" i asked.
"I'm not sure but…" she said as she stroked her hand through my hair which I really missed as a child. "It's so good to see you again." she said with a smile. I couldn't contain how i feel anymore. I hugged her. Tears streaming down my eyes.
"a-am i dead?" i asked…that was the only reason i could think as to why i'm seeing her again.
"Oh no, you're still alive, which I am very thankful for, you still have so much ahead of you." mom said.
"mom, Wh- when I heard that you had died I was devastated, I fell into a depression for years before I could get over it an even then...I always felt like there was a piece of my heart that was missing." i said.
"You're not the only one who suffered when I died, I couldn't stand not being able to stand by your or your fathers side, or that I couldn't hug you whenever you were sad, but there's nothing we could do about that." mom said.
"Who killed you?" i asked.
"Some backstreet rats…you know how it is in the city. Going to work could be lethal thanks to rats. It's why i'm glad you and your father got away from that evil place…and I couldn't be prouder of my little knight." she said. I looked up at her in surprise. She just smiled at me. "I've been watching you and your father all this time…and i'll continue to do so. I will always be with you both." she said as she disappeared into light. Everything soon went white…and i woke up next to sarah orlando and erza watching over me.
"Look who's finally awake." erza said with a grin. Sarah jumped one me and pulled me into a hug. "Must have been having quite the emotional dream considering you were crying in your sleep." erza said. She was right. I felt tears on my face.
"You could say that…how are things going out there?" I asked.
"We...lost some people during the battle…they were given proper burials. But on the good news side of things. The barrier has been repaired to so no more outskirt beasts slipping in. we won. So all that's left to do is rebuild and clean up the mess…needless to say. Everyone is going to be busy for a while." erza said.
"How long was i out?" i asked.
"About three days…first time using your EGO is a real kick from the mule. So don't feel bad about it. In any case. Congratulations mr richardson. Your officially a guardian of the garden now." erza said with a smile.
"A guardian! That's amazing! That rank is nearly impossible to obtain!" sarah yelled.
"Mainly because to become a guardian you need to have a unique E.G.O. not the ones pulled out of a abno like those losers a L corp did…speaking of L corp. Good news! There toast! With their plan involving Sarah going up in flames. And the last of their resources went to the mission to nab her. L corp is officially fucked! The city will have to find a new way to juice itself. But that's not our problem." erza said with a big smile.
"Good to know they won't bother us ever again…what about your dad. Is he okay?" i asked.
"Sarah is lucky to have such a sweet guy…he's alright. Tired as hell though he's taking a nap at the moment. Any case. Take a rest nathan. You earned it!" erza yelled she turned around to leave the room.
"Where are you going?" sarah asked.
"Going over to look over the repairs and cleanup duty. And make sure no stragglers are running around the garden…oh and nathan. Head's up." she said as she opened the door. And my worried dad picked me up into a bone crushing hug.
"I'm happy to see your alright too dad…but need air." i said.
"Sorry." dad said as he let go and rubbed the back of his head.
"Thanks for the warning erza…" i said catching my breath. She giggled.
"Also all of you will be staying here at the tower until your houses are repaired…considering the amount of buildings destroyed in the battle. Your homes are way way way down the list. So it'll be a while. But on better news…the walls are thick here so you're free to bump ugly with sarah as you please. No one will hear." erza said with a smug grin. Dad laughed as me and sarah's face turned red.
Dream of the light/jon pov.
"Good you two are still here…we need to talk." i said to ayin and carmen who were still in the light.
"You want to speak to us…that's a first in a long time." carmen said. I sighed.
"It's been so long since I met both of you…and longer still i held this grudge against you both…for making me a liar and breaking my promise to enoch and lisa. For getting all my friends killed…for so long. I've had this stubborn grip on this grudge of mine…and not helped by what carmen was doing…i don't think 10,000 people dying just so 1 sad loser can play piano is a fair trade….but i can't keep holding onto this grudge…i have to let it go. Not for myself. But for the people under my watch and for the knights who fight for me…i'm a leader now…and i can't let my grudge against you too keep bringing trouble like the hatred abno nikushimi and niel. So…what i'm saying is…for the sake of my people…i forgive you." i said. Both ayin and carmen looked at each other with confusion. But then looked back to jon with a grateful smile.
"You've come far jon…just like gebura. And i'm sorry for not listening to you that day. But the path you took has let you create something truly beautiful." carmen said.
"And i'm sorry too…i know how much pain i caused you…it's why i let you kill me. To bring you some closure. This is why i chose you take my place as the manager of x-394 jon. You could do what I couldn't. You protected everyone. You saved the sephirah. Gave them their lives back. And you even saved angela. I know she will never forgive me for what I did to her. And i don't expect forgiveness. Just keeping for her jon. I approve of you and her." ayin said with a smile. I smiled back.
"Right…see you when i become a part of the light." I said as everything went white as i woke up back to the sun of the garden. I went over to the picture on my desk. And cleaned off the marker that hid Ayin and Carmen's faces. I heard a knock on the door and angela came in wearing a beautiful summer dress.
"Ready to go?" she asked.
"Yep." i said as pushed the button on the speaker. "Chesed. Your in charge until i come back." i said.
"Got it…though why always me? Why not my wife?" chesed asked.
"Because if I put binah in charge. I would come back to this place looking like ancient egypt." i said.
"Hmm…probably. Alright. Enjoy your vacation jon." chesed said. I hung up and headed out to the six seated suv. Gebura cat enoch and lisa waiting as well. I went to the back and pulled over the she sheet to find hansel and gretel hiding underneath.
"Hiiii boss." hansel said nervously while gretel smiled nervously. I looked over to see enoch and lisa having a guilty look on their faces. I sighed.
"I'll let you two come along…just none of THAT okay? I'm not ready to be a grandpa yet." i said. The yellow twins and the assassin twins faces as i got in the driver's seat and headed off to a private beach…that place was my sanctuary. As a matter of fact. It was the first thing i created when I got to work on the garden. Besides watching over my two adopted siblings making sure they don't get freaky with the two young assassins turned knights of the garden. I'm going to spend the next few weeks relaxing and enjoying myself…though i'm sure the guest room where erza put nathan and sarah is going to be…messy. Eh old enough to take up arms, fight and kill. Old enough for sex I say. And so i just let myself enjoy the peaceful sound of the waves and the sight of my wives in bikinis…this is the life.
Four months later.
Things have gone back to normal. Everything has been repaired and all of the monster and zombie blood have been mopped up.
"Good job bong bong horde." i said as the bong bong horde wandered off making their trademark noise.
To this day. I still have no idea what the fuck happend that led to bong bong cloning herself massively. But it's bong bong…best not to question it. Any case. Nathan was soon assigned to the guardians soon after the battle. Good thing too considering soon after. Xiao had to take some sick leave. Considering her and lowell are expecting a child soon. And speaking of the kiddo. It's his birthday today. And so i granted him a week off to celebrate. Because that's what i do everyone under my employment during their birthday. Give them the week off. It's my present. The presents included a cool coat from his dad. A new sword from erza. But the one from sarah was the biggest shock of today. At first it was big. But it just kept leading to a smaller and smaller box until he finally got to the prize…a pregnancy test that is positive.
"Sarah, why did you give me a positive pregnancy te-" nathan said as he connected the dots. Yep, Sarah is pregnant. Normally i would worry about this…but they have a lot of family support.
"Congratulations! Your going to be a full fledged man soon nathan! Complete with a family!" i said.
"And speaking of oncoming children." angela said blushing as she put a hand to her stomach…it didn't take me long to realize what she was implying…looks like erzas going to have a little sibling soon.
After the party. I went back to work and the next surprise was still to come as on my pc. The train symbol of limbus company appeared on the screen. I answered the call. And it was the red gaze vergilius on the line.
"So what do i owe this pleasure red gaze?" I asked. He seemed annoyed at me for calling him by his fixer name. But he calmed down and acted professional. He then explained that he found a guy named dante. A guy with amnesia who's red has been replaced with a prosthetic clock. He also let me know about his talents.
"The ability to resurrect will be useful…considering you're stuck with 12 incompetent morons. Seriously it's a miracle that they haven't been killed before the guy with the death reversing clock head showed up." i said.
"That's not all…we found him being attacked by grade 1 fixers. But he was saved by two young men. Young men with powers similar to yours. White messiah." vergilius said. And he showed the profile of the two young men in question.
"Jordan suzuki tachinowarui and dennis kobayashi tachinowarui." i read their names out loud. I don't know why these two have those names. Considering i thought armageddon knights always had their last name be there's name. And from what dad told me. There's no tachinowarui clan. But these two are definitely armageddon knights. These two definitely belong to the tenshi clan. Jordan had the white hair and blue eyes of an arc while dennis had the black hair and red eyes of a fallen. Albeit it was hard to see his eyes at first considering he had glasses…but that's quite the boon for limbus company having two armageddon knights under their employment…but where did they come from…i'll figure that out when they arrive. I'm the one paying top dollar for those golden boughs…don't really need them. I just don't want them to fall into the hands of the trash that runs wild around the city…but two more armageddon knight have appeared…something tells me things are going to get even more insane…so i should enjoy the peace while i have it…
