Chapter 867
Nothing To Fear
Cameron's team took up positions outside of the structure the two unknown men entered. There was a sign in the front of it which indicated it was a child daycare facility. Until they knew more, it restrained their actions. They were able to have eyes on all four sides of it as they waited. There was a drone overhead at altitude.
Dan spotted someone exit the building and head over to a smaller shed type structure. He was ready to move in and terminate them. It looked like he could 'reach out' and get it done cleanly. He would most likely be able to snap their neck 'Terminator style'.
John didn't want Dan to act too early. Everyone wasn't in the proper position to act. The main thing he was worried about was children inside of the building. Everything so far indicated there weren't any.
"Dan, I ran this by Cameron. Savannah wants to wait for darkness." John said. "I have to agree."
Dan felt if they were going to go into a surveillance mode he would be able to cover two sides of the building himself. It would free up additional personnel. Two Terminators could watch all four sides of the building.
"Affirmative…." Dan said. "I can move my position and cover two sides of the structure as we wait."
Frank decided he would do the same on his side. It would free up the three girls.
"I can do likewise and cover the other two sides." Frank said.
John Henry was pleased to hear it. The way things begin to develop, everything might become a little more complicated. He didn't want the team to get ahead of themselves either. There were several other things they needed to consider. He made sure his conversation with John was isolated.
"It's a good idea." John Henry said. "It sounds like Cameron may be about to have some issues.
John was worried about Cameron. He knew it was because of the anti-Metal faction why she was uneasy and upset. He figured she was in good hands if things actually started to get worse. The best person to assist her was already with her. They would also be able to make sure Cameron showed a little restraint.
"Thank God, Savannah is with Cameron." John said.
John Henry tilted his head slightly to the side.
"John, there was no deity involved." John Henry said.
John looked at John Henry and tried not to laugh. Sometimes he just needed to love the way Terminators took things so literally.
"Whatever." John said and repeated. "Whatever…."
John was satisfied everyone was in good hands right now. How long things would stay good was another matter. He still needed to worry about the two locations they were going to take down.
He would really like to know more about the location where Ally was headed. She would be backed up by Al's team. He thought it would be better if they waited for darkness there as well. The goal was to have Cameron's team finish up and then head over to assist at the other location. They suspected the building contained HK equipment. It was a large building.
Earlier:
Savannah didn't want Cameron to rush the operation when they didn't need to. They were going to take down two locations before the night was over and there was no rush on either one. The buildings weren't going to go anywhere. They didn't seem directly connected either. Things would be safer for them if they waited at both locations. The cover of darkness would provide them with some additional advantages.
"It will be dark soon." Savannah said. "We can all wear our body armor and carry a suppressed M4 without the need to worry about being spotted as easily. We won't seem out of place or as a threat to anyone if no one can see us. It will be safer for all of us."
Cameron understood time was on their side. Both locations where the Resistance teams were involved with were under direct surveillance. There was also a drone over each one as well. The longer they waited, the greater the chances were more people would arrive in each location. They could also depart as well. If they left, they needed to go somewhere. They wanted to know where the 'somewhere' was at.
"You're right, Savannah." Cameron said. "I don't want you or anyone damaged."
Cameron looked at Savannah; she really wanted to use the 'Honeymoon Suite'. Now John was there and ruined things. Savannah offered her everything in a person, and as a mate, she wanted. Savannah could also bear her, bear THEM a child. They could raise it together. They didn't need anyone else. It could just be the two of them. Wait. She wanted Young Allison there as well.
Sheila wanted to go over a few things with Cameron. She started to talk to her before she realized Cameron seemed incapable of responding.
"…Cameron…?" Sheila asked.
Cameron looked around. She was aware she heard a voice. She must have missed what it was. Only Savannah was there with her. She didn't want to seem him as if she was inattentive. Everyone seemed to worry about her for someone known reason if she was.
"OK…." Cameron said.
Sheila knew Cameron was elsewhere in her mind. She wanted to point out her observation, but not make a big deal about it. It was always better to do it in a non-threatening manner. It was time for a little fun.
"So you don't care if I walk up to the door naked?" Sheila asked.
Cameron tilted her head slightly. It must have been Sheila who spoke to her. It wasn't Savannah. She realized she just agreed to something which sounded ridiculous. She didn't want Sheila to do it. It sounded too dangerous. She figured someone would open the door if a naked female walked up to it. She would need to keep it in mind for a possible mission. It was an effective strategy. She also knew Sheila removed her clothing at the other location when the Grays thought they took her captive. It was so she wouldn't get them ruined by damage or soaked with blood. She didn't think they were quite ready for such a bold move.
"What?" Cameron asked. "No, don't do anything so rash."
Sheila still wanted to mess with her.
"You said - OK." Sheila said. "I'm going to do it. You can't change your mind after the fact once the decision has already been made."
Cameron was lost in thought about Savannah and Young Allison. She knew she should be more attentive, even if they were in surveillance mode.
"No don't. I'm sorry, I must have been distracted." Cameron said.
Savannah didn't want things to get carried away. She wanted to cover for Cameron as much as possible. She understood she experienced trouble from time to time. She wanted Cameron to know what the actual question was. She wanted everything to be taken a little more seriously based upon where they were, and the fact the enemy was unknown.
"Sheila wanted to know if you wanted her to move closer." Savannah said.
Savannah tried to help and assist Cameron. It was clear she was a little off. She observed Cameron was distracted. She knew it was because of the 'anti-Metal faction' and their past actions. It all fell back on Future Riley. It all fell back on John's failure. She knew John was culpable in everything which occurred with Future Riley. He was a willing participant. He could have turned his back and walked away at any time. He didn't. She understood how a teenager could get caught up in something like it, but either way, he still did it. The point was, he knew better.
It made her wonder what type of mistakes she might make under similar circumstances. She needed to remember Cameron facilitated her being with different females. It included the Metal girls and the human girls. She was sure it must bother Cameron to a certain extent, even if she was the one who made sure everything happened for her. She knew Cameron was a victim of her programming at the hands of Future John.
Cameron thought about the actual question Sheila asked.
"What?" Cameron asked. "What do you think, Savannah?"
Savannah decided to spell it out for Cameron. She didn't like the place Cameron seemed to have drifted to right now. It wasn't a good place and it certainly wasn't conducive to a combat operation. She decided to be direct about what was needed. She wanted everyone to be as safe as possible. She knew no place was safe. She did know some places were safer than others. The conditions also played a factor.
"I think you need to wait in the SUV while we conduct the operation." Savannah said. "Will you do it for me?"
Cameron smiled and nodded at Savannah. She didn't want to cause a problem for her. It didn't sound like it would be too much of an inconvenience to remain in the SUV. How hard could it be?
"Of course I will." Cameron said. "'I'll do whatever you think is best."
Cameron's response was different and unexpected. She didn't even protest.
The new turn of events made Savannah worry even more. She wasn't sure Cameron was ever so easily sidelined before. It made her wonder if there was something else in the works she didn't know about. She wanted to make sure the current situation was as stable as it could be for now.
"I want to wait until dark and for everyone to armor up." Savannah said. "Everyone fall back. We'll wait another hour. Dan and Frank will watch the structure. Be ready to move if anything develops. Remember, if anyone sees or hears there are any children present inside the building, I need to know about it. The current nature of the mission will need to change accordingly. We will not directly engage the enemy if they are hiding among children."
Cameron looked lost. She didn't like the idea the group from the future would use children as human shields. She was still under the impression the group inside the house was from the anti-Metal faction. She started to move towards the house.
Savannah thought Cameron was going to return to the SUV. She was surprised when she looked up as to where Cameron was actually headed. She didn't want her to initiate the combat operation too soon.
"Cameron, where are you going?" Savannah asked.
Savannah was about to grab her.
Cameron looked back at her with a blank look on her face.
"I need to terminate those people who hurt me." Cameron said.
Savannah took Cameron's glitching hand and led her back to the Escalade.
"I think we need to check things out a little bit more before we act." Savannah said. "I like you to remain here for now until we know more."
Savannah wanted to make sure exactly where Cameron would be once she put her inside. It would be a little easier to control her, as well as keep track of her.
Sheila showed up a few seconds later. She could see Cameron was 'out to lunch'. She immediately regretted what she said earlier. If she would have known exactly how far off things were, she would have responded a little differently. She wanted Savannah to know it wasn't on purpose.
"Savannah, I'm sorry I messed around." Sheila said. "I can see she's really hurting."
Savannah glanced at Sheila. She returned her attention back to Cameron.
"It happens." Savannah said as she gently touched Cameron's cheek. "I'll fix her."
Sheila watched as Savannah lovingly tended to Cameron and tried to help her get past her 'past'. It was evident how strong Savannah's love for Cameron was.
It was clear to Sheila how much Savannah and Cameron belonged together. It was a very symbiotic relationship, based on love and friendship, as opposed to one based on sex. She was pretty sure Cameron's relationship with John was mostly sex based. It was where a lot of her problems emanated from. It seemed to be the fate of most couples.
Sheila thought she should take the lead on the current mission. Cameron could act as their backup in case things didn't go in their direction. With Dan and Frank there to assist her, along with Savannah, she felt they were in a good position to act, whenever they did. She would like to get things wrapped up where they were so she could go to where Ally was at and assist her as well.
Frank and Dan repositioned themselves to free up Sheila to go to be with Savannah and Cameron. They could watch all four sides of the building from opposite corners.
The only drawback to their positioning was if those inside exited all four sides at once and went in different directions. The chances of it seemed unlikely, but it was still a possibility. Because the individuals involved with this group showed extreme paranoia, anything was possible if they thought they were being watched or about to be attacked.
It seemed like a fairly good assumption for those inside of the building to have, since it was exactly what was about to happen.
Cammy and Gail received the transmission by CamNet between Cameron and Savannah. It was clear Cameron was on the verge of having a problem again. There was no way to know how big of a problem it would become.
The good news for them was, by the time they're ready to act waiting for nightfall, it gave them time to get to the target area. They wouldn't need to hurry quiet as quickly which would allow them to be a little less reckless in their trek there.
Gail was most concerned about Savannah's safety. If Cameron experienced any further difficulties, it put Savannah at risk.
"We'll be there by nighttime." Gail said. "It sounds like Cameron is having trouble. I wonder what sparked it specifically. You know what I mean."
Cammy was still upset because she believed Cameron and Savannah were together in the Honeymoon Suite. She still didn't know nothing happened between them. She always seemed to have an ongoing dispute of some type with Cameron. She never hesitated to make her feelings known around anybody other than Savannah. She saw the opportunity to get another jab in at Cameron.
"Cameron needs to be deactivated." Cammy said. "We all know it."
Gail was very upset to hear Cammy say it. She was sure it was based on more than just jealousy. It certainly reeked of jealousy if nothing else. She thought it was a very selfish comment. She wanted to point out to Cammy about how she planned to go visit John for a booty call in the casino Control Center just a short time ago. She didn't believe Cammy thought it through far enough as to what would occur if Cameron were to be actually deactivated.
"I don't agree." Gail said. "It would upset Savannah. I won't allow it. Savannah loves her very much."
Cammy looked at Gail. She wanted her to think about what would, or wouldn't happen going forward because of Cameron in regards to Savannah.
"Cameron will keep you from ever 'being with' Savannah." Cammy said. "Cameron won't let anyone near Savannah if they mate, you know it's true."
Gail knew everything wasn't about her. Savannah helped her learn many things. One of them was about the sacrifice which was sometimes necessary in love. It was more important to put the well being of the one they loved, before their own interests.
"Then it's a sacrifice I'll make." Gail said. "I want Savannah to be happy. Sometimes love is about sacrifice, it shows true love. Savannah's happiness and well being means more to me than anything in regards to me personally."
Cammy needed to pause for a few seconds. It was clear to her Gail loved Savannah more than anything. Gail knew Savannah was her lover, but she still spoke freely and with true conviction.
"I can see it's TRUE love." Cammy said. "I know what you want more than anything."
Gail wasn't sure she liked Cammy's comment. There was a certain amount of reality involved no matter what.
"There are many things I want." Gail said. "I know some of them are not possible."
Cammy knew what a master of manipulation Cameron was. She wouldn't put anything past her. She was sure there was probably a lot of 'temporal malpractice' going on behind the scenes, for Cameron to 'fix' things she thought needed fixing. She figured some of them were probably Cameron's own creations either directly are indirectly.
"I wouldn't bet on it." Cammy said. "You tell Cameron or Savannah what you want and they'll make it happen."
Gail believed Savannah would always put her best interest first.
"Savannah will do what's best for me." Gail said.
Cammy tried not to laugh. There was something else bothering her as well. There were a few other things she would like to know as well.
"Cameron won't. She'll do what's best for herself, and screw everyone else over." Cammy said. "What's in the 'hard case' you have in the back? I needed to switch the stuff out when I switched SUVs with Ally. I was in a hurry so I didn't have time to look."
Gail suppressed a glitch impulse with the question Cammy just asked.
"Cameron asked me to bring her some clothes." Gail said.
Cammy looked towards the rear of the SUV.
"She already got some new ones. I saw them in the Honeymoon Suite when I was there." Cammy said. "I'm going to check them out, maybe I'll keep them for myself. Cameron has enough things. She can't hog everything."
Cammy started to crawl into the back.
Gail didn't want Cammy to open the container up. She reached over and stopped her.
"NO!" Gail said. "Don't mess with anything."
Cammy looked at Gail and saw she was highly agitated. She didn't want to spark a confrontation in the SUV, especially when they were driving.
"Chill out." Cammy said as she sat back down. "It's not a big deal. You don't need to get all bent out of shape about it. It was just some simple curiosity."
Gail was very upset now. She followed Cameron's instructions specifically as to what she wanted, where she wanted it, and when she wanted it.
"I brought what Cameron asked me." Gail said. "I won't allow you to compromise my mission. It's part of MY mission, not yours."
Cammy wondered what was so important. She was pretty sure she knew….
It sounded to Cammy like more games and manipulation by Cameron as she orchestrated events to go the way she wanted them.
Cammy really wanted to be with John to rub it in Cameron's face. At this point she would be content with one second with John, just so she could tell Cameron she was with John.
She saw everything Cameron did as more manipulation of people's lives. Cameron always said she did what Future John wanted her to do. She really didn't believe it was always the case anymore. She was pretty sure everything Cameron did was what Cameron wanted done at this point. She was so glad she wasn't a Bitch like Cameron was.
There were times when she wondered if she might be since she ran Cameron's program. She didn't see any Bitch like behavior exhibited by Cam or Camille. They all ran a modified version of Cameron's program too. No. She was sure she wasn't a Bitch like Cameron was. She knew she did experience some questionable moments though. She was sure she handled all of them better than Cameron could.
Allison and Vanna watched as Jesse nursed Precious.
Holly looked up and moved over to the door and opened it.
Derek just reached for the handle. He looked a little surprised to see Holly. He didn't get to see her often. He was even more surprised to see Vanna standing topless next to Allison. He was even more surprised still when he saw Jesse nursing Precious. She was topless as well. He often saw both of them topless around the base, especially when they room hopped. The topless part wasn't the only part he saw when they did. Normally he wasn't standing right there next to either one of them when they were topless. Now both of them were topless. He couldn't help but look. He was still confused about everything happening in his room. He could see the increased breast size on both of them.
He took a moment to look at everything again. He swallowed hard.
"What is going on here?" Derek asked.
The three girls all responded at the same time.
"Hi, Derek." Vanna, Allison, and Jesse all said.
Vanna made no attempt to cover herself. Derek and Kyle both saw Vanna and Allison naked or partially clothed many times in the tunnels and bunkers of their future. It was no big deal when one saw it all the time. When it was a daily occurrence, no one really thought about it. It only seemed to be a big deal in the past for a lot of people. He really wondered why since everybody had a body, and they all had the same parts, even if they were different in appearance. It was still all the same things. It was just like everyone's face. He began to worry a little bit when he didn't see Riley.
"Hello. Where's Riley?" Derek asked as he looked around.
The door opened behind Derek.
"I'm right behind you." Riley said as she entered the room.
Claire, Hanna, and Cam all followed her in.
Riley looked at Vanna and Jesse. She couldn't help but take a second look at each of them, especially Jesse. It was quite a few years since she shared with Jesse on a personal level. It was a very exhilarating time for her. She knew it was for Derek too. It wasn't the issue now.
"Thank you." Riley said to them. "I really appreciate this."
She took Derek into their bedroom. She could see he was worried and figured she owed him some type of explanation.
Derek took a moment to look Riley over. He was sure something was off.
"Are you all right?" Derek asked.
He knew something must be wrong for so many girls to be there and Jesse. It was still hard to believe JESSE nursed his daughter. It was one task he never imagined she would ever do. He didn't believe she possessed any motherly instincts. It looked like he was wrong, again.
Riley felt a little self conscious about all the hoopla. She hadn't intended for everything to turn into such a major production and a big deal. It did surprise her how Cameron planned ahead and orchestrated it so Vanna and Jesse could both assist her.
"Yes, Derek. I'm fine." Riley said. "Everything is the same as it always was. I keep coming up short. You've seen it. I keep running dry. Vanna and Jesse are going to 'help' nurse Precious. You know she doesn't like the formula. I want her to have everything natural. I'm very pleased my friends are able to help me. It's just like in the past, the future."
Derek thought about the times he attempted to assist Riley and take some of the pressure off of her. He wanted to help with Precious but he did feel very uncomfortable doing it. He always felt like he was going to hurt her because she was so tiny and delicate. He believed he did OK, but he was not happy with his performance at all. He felt very inadequate on multiple levels.
"I know she doesn't like it when I try to feed it to her." Derek said.
Riley went on to tell him what occurred in his absence. She explained Cameron anticipated there may be problems for her and was able to have Vanna and Jesse lactate by the use of hormones and manual stimulation. They would have been ready at the proper time if she hadn't been a week early with Precious. Everything was able to be accelerated.
They both knew it worked the same way in the future and a lactating female was worth her weight in gold to a mother lucky enough to have a child, and have it survive. A female who was able to lactate and assist with other infants was pregnant herself previously and something happened to her baby. It was usually something bad. It seemed many of the few babies born actually survived. There was no formula in the future.
Riley was done with the general description of what everything was about. She needed to get into some specifics with the girls. She knew not all of them were from the future and they weren't comfortable discussing things about their bodies in front of others.
"I don't want to ask you to stay in the bedroom, but I need to talk 'girl talk' with them for a while. Claire won't feel comfortable talking in front of you." Riley said. "She's an experienced mother and Sarah isn't here right now. Claire was very helpful and comforting earlier."
Derek really didn't want to sit it out in the bedroom. There were some other things he could do. Maybe he should just go ahead and do them now.
"I guess I could go out again." Derek said. "Kyle and Sarah are 'busy'. Jim needed to take care of some things."
Riley didn't think it would be a problem. She knew where there were a few Terminators who didn't really have anything to do currently.
"One of the Metal girls can go with you." Riley said. "Who would you like?"
Derek didn't want to separate anyone from their cyborg lover.
"I don't want to impose." Derek said. "I can go to the armory and clean weapons."
Riley watched very carefully when he made his statement. She knew who he wanted and why he avoided the question. She didn't have a problem with it. She understood the reason why as well. She didn't have a problem with it either.
"I knew IT." Riley said. "I'll ask her."
Derek was a little taken aback. He purposely hadn't mentioned anyone. He didn't want it to provoke some type of incident. He didn't want to make Riley feel jealous of anyone for any reason. It looked like she needed to deal with enough things already.
"I didn't say anyone's name." Derek said defensively.
Riley wasn't blind. She saw where Derek's eyes went when he looked at the different Metal girls, or the human ones. She didn't think it was anything new or there was actually anything wrong with it. She was aware it was one of the things which caught his attention about her when he first rescued her. She knew Derek liked to look at what was up top on any female. She did too for that matter. She just didn't dwell on it. She read in Cosmo females spent as much time checking out other females as males did when they're out. They're usually just a little more discreet about it. She wondered if it was to scope out the 'competition'.
"You want it to be Holly." Riley said. "She's incredibly beautiful. I know she's not around the base as much as the other Metal girls are. She's also one of a kind. There isn't a human female like her, or another Metal girl.
Derek didn't see any point in denying the allegation. It was true. He was aware Riley caught him more than once checking out the other females, especially Holly.
"OK, you got me there." Derek said.
Riley knew Derek spent a lot of time observing Gail and Holly both because they weren't based on any of the girls in the Resistance. They were both someone 'new' for him to look at. Holly was seldom at the base and it's why she drew Derek's attention whenever she was. He looked at Claire as well, but she was very much like Allison, and all of her Terminator counterparts.
"You find her intriguing because she is different from the Metal girls who look like Vanna, Allison, and Jesse." Riley said. "She's VERY beautiful as well. I KNOW. Do you remember?"
Riley refereed to the time when she tried to hit on Holly without success. She actually worked it pretty hard and tried everything she could do on her end to make it happen. Holly's mind was set on somebody else at the time and just couldn't go through with it with her.
Derek remembered. He walked out and Holly stood by the door. It was clear she was ready to go out.
Holly smiled at Derek and Riley.
They both thought she was incredibly beautiful.
"Where would you like to go?" Holly asked.
Derek felt a little embarrassed about the exchange he'd just gone through with Riley. Evidently it wasn't as private of a conversation as he thought it was.
"You heard?" Derek asked.
Holly tilted her head slightly. She only used her natural Terminator abilities.
"I hear everything." Holly said. "I see everything too."
Derek worried a little bit about Allison. He hated to take her companion away from her.
"Allison won't mind?" Derek asked.
Holly interpreted his question a little differently than he intended. It was actually quite humorous if one thought about what she indicated.
"No, you always respected her and Vanna." Holly said. "I have nothing to fear."
Derek wondered if he did….
Holly was beautiful to him. He wondered if it was because he seldom saw her. He saw Gail and the others all the time. Holly was well 'built' and almost as voluptuous as Gail. Both of them were much larger than any of the girls from the future.
Derek remembered when Riley pursued Holly before they hooked up full time. She didn't have much luck. Jesse and Gail hit it off, and it was the end of Jesse and him forever. He knew it was always Rally's desire to share with other females. As far as he knew she hadn't shared with any of them since they hooked up.
He told her before, as long as it was a female, she could be with whoever she wanted to be with. Sometimes when he saw her with Sarah, he knew it was her secret desire to share with her. He wasn't going to worry about it. Right now he would take all the help we could get whether it was a Metal girl or a human one. He wanted to take some of the pressure off of Riley. He wondered if Riley would have hooked up with Holly where it would have left him.
Most likely high and dry….
Maybe not….
He figured Cameron would have fixed him up with a Metal girl. He would have been more than happy if it was Sheila, Ally, or Hanna, in that order. Maybe it would have been all three of them….
It never happened, but it definitely was something to think about. He could always hope something would break loose in the future and he would have the opportunity to be with a Metal girl. He liked the idea they never got tired, and didn't need to slow down. He figured they would be able to perform some of the things he liked and not complain about it. Oh well, it was what it was. Life goes on. Who knew what the future would yield? He sure didn't. He looked around at the females in the room and Jesse nursing Precious. He never could have possibly imagined what was there now in a million years if he was still in his future and had me in contact with John and Mrs. Weaver.
He also reflected if he was still in the future, he probably would be dead by now.
With the assault now delayed until nighttime, Ally needed a place to lay low for a while out of the way. Stopping alongside of the road seemed like a bad idea, or a trouble magnet. It just wouldn't be a good optic. Someone may stop to see if she needed assistance. Others may stop for other reasons, especially if they saw she was a female alone. She briefly went over the image of the satellite map she contained in her files. She saw something a few miles up ahead which might be a better place to hang out at. She headed straight for it. It didn't take her long to reach the location.
Ally pulled behind an old abandoned building while she 'finished up', She didn't have a lot to do. She kept herself busy with herself. She could keep doing it, but she was already bored with it. She preferred another female to do it for her. A Metal girl or human one worked fine for her. It was times like these when she really wished Sheila was here with her. They would be all alone in the middle of nowhere and they could do what they wanted with each other until they were needed later on.
She was going to have to kill some time until it was dark and Cameron's team 'cleaned up' with the group they were engaged with. It was a small place and looked like a 'snap'. She didn't think it would take them very long at all to be freed up.
She watched the various drone feeds on her phone as she waited. She knew Al's team would do the same. They took refuge in a different location. They also wanted to remain out of sight. They never knew who was on the road. They didn't want to raise any eyebrows.
CamNet or John Henry started to show her drone footage from the drone closest to her. There was a zoomed in image and she spotted something. It looked like trouble.
"Great, this is just what I don't need." Ally said. "Now would be a good time to have someone else here with me."
She reached back and brought her suppressed M4 up to the front with her. She replaced the thirty round magazine with a hundred round magazine. She would prefer not to have any sheath damage, especially on her upper torso. She put on her vest. She figured she would need both of them before the day was over.
She was totally isolated. She held twenty miles away from the target area. She knew she could be there in ten minutes if she needed to be. She will be able to open her SUV up and make some time on the nearly deserted road. Now everything was in jeopardy. She may even end up with a disabled vehicle with the trouble she spotted. She certainly didn't want to get closer to the target area and alert them in any way to gunfire.
"John, I think I'm going to have a problem." Ally said. "I don't want to move closer to the target area to handle it. There's a good chance there's going to be gunfire."
John quickly looked at the drone image John Henry transferred over to him. He saw it was a problem for sure. Ally only had two choices. One was to evade, the other was to fight. More than likely if she ran, she would still need to fight anyway.
"OK, I've just picked up on the problem now." John said. "Do you want to evade? Is there any type of defensive area you can retreat to?"
Ally looked over at her M4 again. She wasn't sure if it would be a fair competition or not but she wanted to give it a go. Circumstances were a little different, but she was near Vegas. She could gamble where she was at.
"Hardly…." Ally said. "I want to see if I can beat River's time…."
Closing monologue by Cameron:
Nothing To Fear
What is fear
What is danger
Does it arrive
In the form of a stranger
There's nothing to fear
But fear itself
Does one fool others
Or only themself
Fear can be mental
Or fear can be physical
The effects are the same
It's really not quizzical
The question becomes
What does one do
Do they drive on through
Or let it accrue
Try to stay clear
Of someone else's sphere
If one is always sincere
There's nothing to fear
Nobody
