Hooked
Weiss was extremely glad when the party was over. She was frankly annoyed the entire time, listening to that stupid pirate fox thing sing songs. The company that owned the fox had picked it up not too long ago. Ultimately the thing was just downright creepy to look at in her opinion. She couldn't help but be relieved when it was gone.
As she walks the halls of the Schnee Manor on her way to her bedroom, she sees Whitley entering his own room. He looks at her smirking. He then stuck his tongue out at Weiss childishly before entering his room. Weiss rolls her eyes with annoyance before entering her own room.
Tyrian Callows watched the woman shackled to the wall of the temporary hideout. Guarding prisoners wasn't the most fun job, but he was more than excited. His excitement came, not from the woman, but rather the animatronic from which the body of a little girl was hidden. The color of the eyes of the robot had changed to match those of the Faunus girl inside. The robot itself was chained up as well. It wouldn't do to be careless.
Tyrian thought about the man he was following very highly. The man who was going to cheat death, the man who would show Tyrian how to become a god of death in this world. Then her grace would have no choice but to look at him with awe. Besides, this guy really understood how to make a hunt fun. He could go all out if he wanted to. The only limiter was to not get caught in the act. He wasn't restricted to capture missions right now. Of course there would be some of those soon, but even then, Tyrian would still be able to have fun doing it. Besides, it wasn't like he was truly betraying his goddess. She would get the destruction she so craved.
The woman started crying again. Tyrian rolls his eyes. "Oh come now, don't start that again. She's dead, get over it. Besides, soon you'll get to join her. Or rather, she'll join you." Tyrian giggles maniacally. That's when the robot starts to shake. Tyrian laughs. "Oh right on time!" Tyrian pulls out his scroll and types a message to his new partner.
Ghira sat across from Ozpin at a tea shop. Ghira knew who the man was. How could he not? Ozpin was one of the most famous Huntsmen on Remnant still alive. The Headmaster of Beacon who was the youngest man to graduate. A prodigy through and through. Ozpin took a sip from his cup before setting it down.
"So..." Ozpin says, his gaze turning sympathetic. "You said you have no leads on where they could be other than that they were to go to Freddy Fazbear's Pizza Palace."
Ghira nods. "I was supposed to meet up with them there. I couldn't find them."
Ozpin nods as well. "Very well, it's a start. Please, for the time being I will offer you a room from my school until this situation is investigated fully. I'll speak to my best graduates about it, and ask them to aid me in this investigation."
Ghira felt relieved. "Thank you, so much headmaster." Ghira says, bowing his head.
"You are also welcome to join us in the investigation if you'd like Mr Belladonna." Ozpin offers.
"I'd like that, if it wouldn't be a bother to you." Ghira says.
Ozpin laughs lightly. "Not at all. You know your wife and daughter better than myself or anyone else. That knowledge may help with the investigation."
Weiss was tossing and turning in her bed, her body coated in sweat. She grimaced, and whines a bit to her discomfort. That stupid Fox's song was stuck in her head. Though that was only part of it. Every time she started to fall asleep, she's dream of the Fox chasing her through the halls of the manor. It always ended with her getting a hook in her chest. Weiss sits up rubbing her eyes, feeling humiliated that a stupid robot fox was making her have nightmares. No one was going to know. Well... maybe Klein. He was trustworthy.
Weiss gets out of bed, and straitens her night gown with her hands. When her bare feet hit the cold floor she shivers slightly, but she moves on to her door. She wanted to go exploring the halls. Maybe she could find a portrait of her grandfather. At that thought, Weiss felt a few tears in her eyes. His passing was still fresh in her mind. She hated that whenever she thought of her grandfather anymore, it would make her cry. Wiping away her tears with her hand, she enters the hall only to stop. She felt a cold chill from the hall. It made her remember the story of Poppy and Oak from a fairy tale she had read once.
She looked to her right to see her younger brother Whitley's room. She frowns when she realizes that his door is open, and she could hear a voice that seemed oddly familiar. Weiss approached the door, leaning against it slightly to listen closely.
She could hear her brother sobbing. "Please... stop..."
Then she heard something that made her blood go cold. "I-I-I-If y-you wanna be a P-Pirate like me, first ye got ta loose an eye and an arm!" The voice was robotic, glitchy, and familiar. It was that damn fox. Weiss peers into the room and sees Whitley on his bed hugging his knees as the Fox looms above him. Before Weiss could do anything, The Fox's hooked hand came down swinging. The hook was jammed straight into Whitley's left eye, blood gushing instantly as he screams. The fox then yanked its hook out and the eyeball went with it, skewered on the hook. Whitley rolls on the bed, his hands to his eye socket screaming from pain.
The Fox gives a glitchy laugh, and Weiss could feel herself crying as she stood there frozen to the spot from fear. She may have disliked her brother, but this? She would never have wanted this to happen to him. That's when the fox spoke again.
"I-I-I-If y-you wanna be a P-Pirate like me, first ye got ta loose an eye... and an arm!"
The hook swung again, and It skewered into Whitley's hand. With its other hand, the fox grabbed Whitley's arm and yanked Whitley's hand off with its hook from sheer strength. Weiss back away from the door, not wanting to see anymore. She looks down the hall to see if there were any adults who could help. Then her eyes widened when she heard the door creak open. Weiss slowly looked over, then up at the monster who had been keeping her up with nightmares.
"Yar! It Looks L-Like we've got another Pirate in training with us! Remember though, If y-you wanna be a P-Pirate like me, first ye got ta loose an eye and an arm!"
Weiss immediately bolted away, dashing through the halls. Her heart pumping, and her adrenaline flowing. She could hear the Fox's robotic feet following her in quick succession, getting closer. Weiss turns a corner looking back slightly to see the Fox slide slightly when trying to turn before dashing after her, hook raised. Weiss runs at full speed down the hall before jumping onto the railing of the stairs, and sliding down it at full speed. She nearly falls when she lands, but manages to stabilize herself and run to the front door. She turns to see the Fox stop at the top of the stairs before jumping down them, landing on its feet in a crouch perfectly before standing up its yellow eyes glowing in the dark. Weiss doesn't hesitate to slam the door open rushing out and slamming it shuts holding the door shut with her hands. The hook then skewered through the door, only a hair away from her eyeball. Weiss let's go of the door, and runs with tears in her eyes.
"I'm sorry Whitley." She sobs as she runs. "I'm so sorry."
Summer and Raven stop before Pietro Polendina's workshop in Mantle. Above them, the floating city of Atlas looms with the Atleasian fleet flying above ready to protect them if needed. Raven looks to Summer.
"You ready?" Raven asks.
Summer nods. "Yeah." Summer steps forward, and presses the door open.
