Chapter 936
Blowing It
Young Allison continued to roll toward the bridge in the Cessna. The first big truck was rapidly closing.
Young Allison began to experience her first true concern.
"Is he slowing?" Young Allison asked.
Anna's calculations indicated the truck hadn't slowed down.
"No." Anna said. "Get ready to hop out and run…."
Young Allison saw it for what it was.
"It's a game of 'chicken'." Young Allison said. "It's a challenge."
Anna wanted to make sure Young Allison understood what was happening.
"They're not slowing." Anna said. "I think they plan to knock the plane out of the way. I don't think we want to be in it when it happens."
Young Allison continued her roll. She didn't back down. She was almost up to the bridge.
"Are any of the drivers Terminators?" Young Allison asked as she held the rolling plane on course.
Anna didn't think it really made any difference right now. It was the front of the big rig which would do all the 'talking' when it impacted the aircraft.
"None were indicated from the drone scans." Anna said.
Young Allison knew they were men. She felt it gave her an advantage.
"Get ready to follow my lead." Young Allison said.
Anna wondered what 'lead' Young Allison referred to. They needed to get away from the aircraft before the impending collision.
"What do you mean?" Anna asked.
Young Allison didn't have a whole lot of time to explain. Explaining wouldn't do any good. What they did next would.
"Just do it." Young Allison said. "I want you to do what I do. Get ready to act."
Anna didn't like what she witnessed with Young Allison. There was a sense of cold daring showing. It was clear Young Allison would develop a killer instinct. She was sure once she alerted Cameron to the coldness which existed within Young Allison, she would probably want her to work closer with Jesse and Sheila. She was pretty sure if Young Allison began to work closer with either of those two, she would learn a lot more than the 'killer instinct'. She knew they would both be more than willing to teach her about a female body and what could be experienced, and what it could do for another female body.
Those were the very things she wanted to do with Young Allison. She was forbidden from doing anything, even if Young Allison leaned on her. Cameron wanted Savannah to establish herself first in Young Allison's sexual exploits. Savannah was in no hurry to push no matter how much Young Allison pulled.
Those weren't the issues right now. Survival seemed to be at the top of the list. It was a short list.
John watched the drone footage of the events as they unfolded on the highway and the bridge. He didn't think things were going to work out as they planned. Something seemed incredibly off as far as the trucks went.
"This is going from bad to worse." John said. "Are those trucks stopping?"
John Henry's calculations showed the trucks hadn't slowed at all.
"It doesn't appear so." John Henry said.
John was about to order a missile strike when Cameron beat him to it.
"John Henry, have the drone target the cab of the lead vehicle and the cab of the last one." Cameron said.
John Henry already had the drone tracking the targets and ready to fire.
"The missiles are hot and targeted." John Henry said.
He was a little worried about the damage to the bridge which would certainly occur with the missile strikes. He knew the Metal girls were under the bridge currently waiting to come out once the trucks stopped. He was worried about collateral damage to them.
Cameron was worried for the Metal girls as well. She gave them a warning.
"Everyone, stay down. We have incoming missiles." Cameron said. "Fire…"
John thought Young Allison and Anna were too close for a missile strike. He thought about trying to stop the order. He hoped there was enough time to act before John Henry actually fired the missiles.
Seconds ago:
Savannah waited with Sheila at the end of the bridge. She could see the plane coming down the road and the trucks headed towards them at the edge of the bridge. They didn't seem to be slowing.
"What the Hell!" Savannah said as she watched from her place of concealment.
She was unsure if this was an act of bravery or foolishness.
Sheila watched as the plane and the trucks converged.
"It looks like a game of 'chicken'." Sheila said.
Savannah thought so too, but she didn't want to hear it. It irritated her immensely. Young Allison's life was in danger.
"Shut up." Savannah said. "I don't want this matter treated lightly."
Cameron's broadcast sounded through all their coms.
"Everyone, stay down. We have incoming missiles." Cameron said. "Fire…."
Savannah felt they were too close for a missile strike.
"No, NO - N O!" Savannah said.
Savannah knew the plane would be endangered as well. She thought Young Allison and Anna were in too close for a missile strike. She thought about trying to stop the order. It all seemed to happen so fast. She hadn't expected Cameron to escalate things so quickly. It was clear things went from bad to worse in an instant.
The plane stopped at the end of its roll out right before the bridge. It was exactly where Young Allison wanted to be. The only trouble was, she thought the trucks would be slowing to stop. It didn't appear they were going to.
Cameron's broadcast sounded through all their coms.
"Everyone, stay down. We have incoming missiles." Cameron said. "Fire…."
Young Allison reacted instantly. It wasn't her plan. She wanted the trucks stopped on the bridge. She didn't want them damaged.
"Belay that order." Young Allison said into her com.
Young Allison slipped off her vest as she tucked her Model 66 behind her back and exited the plane. Instead of running off to the side, she moved around and stood in front of the plane as she waved her arms back and forth.
There was now a teenager facing down the approaching trucks - alone.
Anna was supposed to follow Young Allison's lead. She thought a 'heads up' to the latest insanity would have been nice. Then again, if Young Allison would have told her it was the plan, she would have attempted to stop her from doing it. She figured even if she grabbed Young Allison, she would have 'ordered' her to let go of her. She didn't think Young Allison would 'order' her to follow her if things turned a little contentious. She knew Young Allison would go on her own. It's exactly what she just did right now.
John heard the 'command' to 'fire' from Cameron. He was about to issue one himself but Young Allison beat him to it.
"Belay that order." Young Allison said.
John was surprised by her quick action.
"What?" John asked. "What's happening?"
John Henry was no longer in control of the drones. He wasn't sure if it happened before or after Young Allison gave her order. It seemed to happen at the same time. He wondered if CamNet acted on her own, or if CamNet anticipated what Young Allison was going to do. It was pretty sure it was the latter. It seemed the more Young Allison worked directly with CamNet, the more CamNet could anticipate from Young Allison. Since CamNet originated from Cameron's program it all seemed to make more sense. There was actually a lot of Young Allison in CamNet from the Future Allison in Cameron's program.
"I've lost control of the drones." John Henry said. "CamNet has taken control."
From the drone footage, John watched Young Allison move in front of the plane waving her arms to stop the trucks. Now the driver of the truck was confronted with more than just an inanimate object in front of him. Now it was a living person. It was a young female, who appeared to seek help. He found it a little hard to believe. He felt something inside of him grab hold and shake him. It opened his eyes to the reality of what he actually looked at.
"Look at that!" John said. "LOOK AT THAT!"
John was aware at Young Allison's age he was a punk. He was little more than a juvenile delinquent in and out of foster homes. There's no way he would have ever done the same thing at her age. In fact he doubted he could even do it now. He wasn't sure if any human would be able to do the same thing and not want to run. He knew she was very agile and hoped she would be able to use her agility to get out of the way of the truck if it continued on its present path and speed.
He needed to face off with a few Terminators growing up. He knew Young Allison already brought one Terminator down by herself. What he witnessed right now was more than impressive.
Cameron told him Young Allison would be like Future Allison when she returned from the past. She already acted more like Cameron than she did Future Allison. He wasn't sure if it was a good thing or a bad thing. No he was sure of it. It was a bad thing for him, but it was a good thing for the Resistance. When he was in the alternate future he watched Allison volunteer whenever they asked for a patrol. She was always the first one who stood up. Whatever she stood up, so did every other person who was there. It was her presence which motivated everyone else to act and do the same thing she did. She never asked for favors and she always did her job. He admired it in the future and it was one of the reasons he fell in love with her at the time. It was more than the fact she looked like Cameron. It was who she was. Right now he could see where Allison got her bravery and determination from.
He was sure of one thing. Young Allison packed a set of 'stones' the size of footballs. He didn't think there would be too many people who would be where she was right now on their own. It didn't matter if they were male or female, or what their age was. She was determined to make the big rig stop. She used herself as bait to do it.
Seconds ago:
Cameron made her decision to protect Young Allison. She wanted the lead truck stopped before it would impact the aircraft. She knew the Metal girls and her were all under the bridge. They were sure to receive some type of collateral damage. There was nowhere for them to go.
She didn't anticipate what happened next.
"Belay that order." Young Allison said.
It wasn't what Cameron wanted to hear.
"DAMN!" Cameron said.
Cameron watched the events unfold at the end of the bridge from the drone footage. She watched as Young Allison exited the plane and faced down the trucks on foot. She could only believe it because she watched it with her own eyes. It would be hard to believe if someone told her it was what happened.
"What have I created?" Cameron asked.
Holly thought Cameron may have missed the point. She didn't want Cameron to forget her origin.
"It's not what you've created. It's what created YOU." Holly said. "You should be proud, rather than surprised."
Cameron watched Young Allison with extreme concern.
"I fear THAT version of ME…." Cameron said.
Holly thought it was the whole purpose of what Cameron wanted to create. She wanted to create a weapon which would ensure the victory of the Resistance.
"So will Skynet." Holly said.
Maybe it's what would be needed in the future. She wondered if the Terminator version of Young Allison - 'Fusion', would become the most ruthless and determined Terminator of them all.
Cameron used the chassis for 'Fusion' for CamNet. She still hadn't activated 'Allure' which was to be based on Future Allison. 'Allure' was to be what she should have been. Maybe the 'Neural Interface' from Young Allison when she returned from the past should be used in 'Allure' instead. Maybe it should be used with CamNet. Maybe she should add the updated 'Neural Interface' programs of Future Allison and Young Allison to her files. She knew it would alter who she was but, she thought it would make her more than she was. Maybe she could better please John. She briefly wondered why she would need to do it. John should be happy with what he possessed now and not take it for granted like he normally did. Still, she would like to finally please him instead of disappoint him. It was something which would require further study.
She decided she would need to ask Savannah first. She knew Savannah loved her for who she was now. She didn't want to lose Savannah's love. She would like to improve herself though if she could. The more she thought about it, the more she decided CamNet is the one who should become 'Fusion'. When she created CamNet, she wanted to make a better version of herself. She was sure CamNet was a different entity than her at this point. Since CamNet now possessed a chassis, there was no reason the chassis couldn't become Fusion as it was originally intended. It wouldn't just have Cameron's program now. It would have CamNet's program instead.
Cameron blinked her eyes once. Everything she just thought happened in a millisecond. It was much less time than the blink of an eye. She could experience a lot of thoughts in a very short amount of time. It was the nature of her construction. She returned her attention to the trucks rumbling across the bridge. Everything was unfolding very fast.
Sheila and the rest of the team all watched Young Allison. They were as impressed as Cameron was. She thought about the earlier discussion of rating different versions of Allison after types of explosives. She just decided to upgrade her assessment to a more powerful explosive.
"Young Allison's not a stick of 'dynamite'." Sheila said. "She's nitroglycerin."
Savannah was very upset about the new development.
"Get ready to move." Savannah said. "We need to get her out of the way."
She needed to get out there and protect Young Allison. There was a terrible sick fear inside of her. It seemed to crush her from within. It was her love for Young Allison and screamed at her from inside to do something. The only thing to do was to get out in front of the truck herself if she couldn't get to Young Allison and stop her.
Anna watched in disbelief as Young Allison shed her vest, exited the plane and moved in front of it. She got out and did the same thing. She tucked her M9 behind her. There was no heads up or warning. It appeared Young Allison acted on impulse without a plan. It was very 'Cameron like' of her. Then again, it's exactly what Cameron trained her to do. She taught her to think on her feet and think fast.
There were now what appeared to be two young females standing in front of the airplane as they tried to flag down 'help'. It didn't look like a threat, but someone who needed help.
The trucks rapidly slowed. There were some tires screeching and smoke as the truck drivers stood on their brakes to stop. They stopped short of Young Allison and Anna.
The three trucks were now stopped on the bridge. They were right where they were supposed to be. If they would have slowed and stopped earlier as was intended, they would be in the same place they were right now.
It looked like Young Allison's boldness paid off and stopped the targets where they could be taken down as planned. There was no way Young Allison could have known if the trucks would stop or not. It was definitely a big gamble on her part.
Seconds ago:
The driver of the lead truck looked on in disbelief.
"There is a plane landing on the road in front of us." The driver said. "I can see the propeller's not turning."
The passenger next to the driver didn't like what he saw. It appeared to be a threat to him.
"Don't stop." The passenger said. "Knock it out of the way. It will just spin off to the side when you hit it. I've seen it happen before on the news. The plane is very lightly constructed. It only weighs about half as much as a car does."
The driver stayed on the gas.
The two occupants of the lead truck were a little surprised at what they saw next. Two figures emerged from both sides of it
"Someone's getting out." The driver said. "There are two people now."
The passenger didn't care. They were supposed to get to their destination on time. They didn't know if what they witnessed was some type of a ploy to slow them down or delay them.
"Run them down." The passenger said.
The driver stayed on the accelerator. He didn't let up. He looked a little closer at the two individuals who got out of the aircraft.
"They look like females." the driver said. "They look like teenagers."
The passenger didn't want any delays.
"Run them down." The passenger said.
The driver didn't see the girls as a threat.
"They need help." The driver said.
The passenger didn't want to stop. He didn't want to stop. He didn't get a good look at them yet.
"Run them down." The passenger said.
The driver didn't want to do it. He wouldn't do it. He would make a suggestion his passenger should like instead. He was well acquainted with what motivated some of the individuals he worked with on a daily basis.
"How about if we stop and put the grab on them?" The driver asked. "It won't slow us down by more than a minute or two. We can make the time up on the road easily. Look at them. There's no one around here who will know what happened to them. I don't know how long we're going to be tied up going forward when we get to the destination. It might be nice to have a little entertainment around. It looks like something a little nicer than the homeless trash we usually need to deal with."
The passenger did look at them. He liked what he saw the closer they got. He could see how pretty both of them were. He was tired of the used up street trash they normally brought in to serve as a recruit for the 'comfort bunk'. The excuse was no one cared what happened to them. If they disappeared and went missing, no one cared, no one reported it, and no one did anything about it.
"Now you're talking." The passenger said. "It looks like real fresh meat. It just doesn't get any better than that. Let's grab them."
The driver stood on the brakes without locking the wheels up. The two trucks behind him were unaware of the situation ahead. The truck behind him was caught off guard and did lock his brakes up slightly. The third truck was a little further back and was able to stop with a hard break application behind the second truck. As the lead truck came to a stop, the driver was able to get a good look at both of the girls. He already decided which one he wanted first.
"I want the brunette." The driver said.
The passenger looked at the little sleeper area in the rear of the truck cab. It appeared it was going to get some use very soon.
"The redhead is fine for me." The passenger said. "We can switch off. I think we can get both of them acclimated to their new lifestyle before we send them back to the other trucks. We can send one to each of the other big rigs once we get our fill. There is only so much we can do."
The two men laughed at his response. There was still a certain amount of refractory time necessary between episodes. The more episodes there were, the longer the duration of the refractory time was.
The truck stopped twenty feet short of the females. They finally were able to take a good look at them. They were very distracted.
The passenger looked around in the back for some rope.
The driver noticed other females suddenly appeared around them. It all seemed to happen within a second or two.
"Hey, what's happening?' The driver asked. "Who are these other chicks?"
The passenger was as confused as the driver. They were so fixated on what they were going to do with the two younger females, they let their guard down and didn't realize they were in imminent danger.
"Where did they come from?" The passenger asked.
The driver was very confused.
"They just appeared." The driver said.
Moments ago:
Cameron was somewhat astonished at what she witnessed. She just watched Young Allison face down three big rigs toe to toe. She witnessed from the drone footage the trucks didn't intend to stop. Young Allison's bold action, backed up by Anna, stopped the trucks where they intended for them to be stopped. She determined the occupants of the trucks just signed their own death warrants. She wanted the Metal girls to collect.
"Everyone get ready to move." Cameron said. "The trucks are stopping. Take everyone down hard. They weren't going to stop. They were going to knock the plane out of the way and keep going. Young Allison stopped them where we wanted them stopped. It's time for some payback."
They were all sure the last part of her statement was to make sure the Terminators terminated their targets for threatening Young Allison. If Cameron knew what the men really planned, the punishment would have been unimaginable. Sheila would have been very busy. She would have received a lot of help as well.
Seconds ago:
Savannah watched as Young Allison approached the trucks without any protective gear. It was intolerable. She wanted Cammy and Sheila to use their superior Terminator speed to go to Young Allison to shield her.
"Cammy, I want you and Sheila to get in front of Young Allison." Savannah said. "I'll be right behind you. Don't wait for me. She doesn't have her vest on."
Moments ago:
Anna moved in front of Young Allison when the big rigs were almost stopped. They were only a few feet away from both of them. She needed to get Young Allison out of the combat zone. She knew the Metal girls were already moving to take down the trucks.
"I want you in the ditch alongside the road the moment the Metal girl's spring out. I'll be behind you and lay on top of you." Anna said.
Young Allison didn't see how she would be able to engage the enemy from such a restricted position.
"How am I going to shoot like that?" Young Allison asked.
Anna decided to use an earlier directive Young Allison and her discussed. It was time to be firm.
"You will do as you're TOLD." Anna said. "You told me to intervene if you're 'blowing it'. I don't want you to blow it."
Young Allison realized how close the trucks were to them at this point. She knew her body armor was still in the airplane. She didn't want to 'blow it'. She told Anna to tell her if she was going to. Anna just told her.
"OK, Anna." Young Allison said. "As soon as the trucks stop and the girls make their move, it's what I'll do."
Anna wanted total compliance. Young Allison's safety was in serious jeopardy.
"Promise me." Anna said.
Young Allison could see it was time to move. The closest truck was almost fully stopped.
"I promise, Anna." Young Allison said.
The trucks stopped with a hiss of air twenty feet from where Anna and Young Allison both stood.
If the trucks hadn't slowed and stopped, the girls may have been run down if they wouldn't have been able to move off to the side quick enough.
Everyone who saw what happened wondered if they could have done the same thing. They knew Young Allison and Anna needed to leave their body armor behind so they wouldn't look like a threat. They needed to look like two young teenage females who needed help. It was exactly what they looked like. It's what caused the big rigs to stop. It wouldn't have happened otherwise.
Everyone would have expected something like it from Cameron.
Maybe it was.
Anna spotted the Metal girls as they came up from the sides of the low bridge.
"GO, Allison!" Anna said.
She saw the Metal girls move in to attack.
Cameron and all the Metal girls sprung into action. A Metal girl approached the cab of each of the trucks from both sides.
Young Allison headed for and landed in the ditch with Anna on top of her but not crushing her with her weight.
Anna planned her protection of Young Allison carefully. Her chassis would shield Young Allison vital parts from any stray rounds. Her chassis was actually at a slight angle to absorb any bullets which were directed at them.
Young Allison knew the situation was serious, but she wanted to break the tension in the air.
"If I would have known it was going to be like this, I would have rolled onto my back so we could be face to face for this part of the operation. If we were, I wouldn't mind how long you were on top of me like this."
Anna found Young Allison's comment rather amusing. She thought it would actually keep Young Allison down and out of danger for longer if they would have. She decided not to comment. There was a lot going on around them.
Cammy and Sheila were there in a few seconds. Both of them shielded Young Allison and Anna with their chassis. Savannah arrived a few seconds later.
Cameron and the Metal girls showed no mercy as they jumped onto the sides of the truck cabs and dealt with the occupants.
The drivers and their riders were all dead in seconds.
Savannah was very upset by what she just witnessed.
"What were you thinking?" Savannah asked Young Allison angrily.
Young Allison was bothered to see Savannah was so upset. She didn't think she did anything wrong, even if it might have been a little on the risky side. The original plan was going to fall apart. She did what she needed to do, when she needed to do it, to make the plan work.
"I was thinking how to make the trucks stop in the target zone so the rest of the team could take them down." Young Allison said. "The plan changed. It looks like the new plan did what it was intended to do."
Young Allison didn't think anything should be a big deal. It was successful.
Savannah was still very upset at the danger Young Allison was just in.
"It was reckless and foolish." Savannah said.
Young Allison didn't see it the same way at all. She didn't want to get into an argument about it. In order to accomplish the mission, she would do the same thing again. She felt she was tying up critical personnel which we needed to inspect the trucks.
"Maybe…." Young Allison said. "Cammy, Sheila, and Anna should all go to help check the cargo and commandeer the trucks. The threat level is currently very low."
Savannah saw the situation was under control at the trucks. She wanted to speak with Young Allison alone.
"Go." Savannah said to the Metal girls. "I have this."
Anna, Cammy, and Sheila all headed away from Savannah and Young Allison. They were all relieved to be away from what was about to happen. They could tell Savannah was steaming.
Young Allison could see Savannah was furious at her.
"I don't even know where to start." Savannah said.
Young Allison didn't see what the problem was. The mission was a success. Everyone was undamaged and no one was hurt. She felt she had time to move away from in front of the big trucks if they wouldn't have stopped. She possessed superior agility from all of her training, as well as her dance lessons. She didn't want Savannah to lay into her.
"Savannah, I'm sorry." Young Allison said. "I did what I thought needed to be done for the success of the mission. Can you honestly tell me you've NEVER done the same?"
Savannah's anger softened. She pushed it to the limit and beyond, more than a few times. She wasn't sure she would have done what Young Allison just did. When she didn't abandon Cameron, as the Nike warhead was about to go off, it actually was a little more extreme and she would have been killed. She was able to discover a way to mask Cameron's damage so they could use the energy bubble when it reappeared to escape. Her anger subsided even more.
"You know I have." Savannah said. "It's been more than once."
Savannah knew there were other instances battling Terminators. She was lucky she was able to prevail in every encounter. She needed to kill Grays as well. She needed to remember Young Allison was the one who brought down a Terminator who attempted to grab her previously.
Young Allison wanted Savannah to look at everything. Everything happened like it was supposed to. She just needed a little more personal involvement than anticipated.
"Wasn't this the right call for the moment?" Young Allison asked. "It worked."
Savannah was able to regain most of her composure. She was deathly worried something bad was going to happen to Young Allison. She felt a fear inside of her she never ever felt before.
"It seems like it." Savannah said. "Come here."
Young Allison and Savannah both stood.
Savannah reached out.
Young Allison thought Savannah was going to strike her. She didn't flinch. She would take her punishment for what she believed was the right choice.
Instead Savannah took Young Allison in her arms and held her close. She put her back between Young Allison and the trucks. It was the same thing Cameron did to her at the casino. She shielded Young Allison with her body.
"Please, don't ever do it again." Savannah said with tears in her eyes. "I understand."
The love the girls felt for each other was evident.
"I'm sorry, Savannah." Young Allison said. She teared up to see Savannah in such pain for her. "I'm sorry. I love you, Savannah."
Savannah pulled Young Allison tighter against her body.
"I love you too, Allison." Savannah said. "I MUST protect you. I can't let anything happen to you."
Young Allison felt it was a two-way street. She wanted to protect Savannah too. Normally she was in her bunker and could only act with CamNet's assistance. Here she was out in the field and able to actually do something. She knew if she could get the trucks to stop, the plan could be carried out as it was originally intended. There wouldn't need to be missiles fired or any gunfire directed at the girls if things hadn't gone as planned. She felt she protected the entire team by her actions, and Anna backed her up.
"I'll protect you too." Young Allison said. "There would have been collateral damage on the girls if the missiles would have been fired at the trucks. There was a chance Sheila, Cammy, and you all could have been hurt too. You didn't have much cover. I didn't mean to upset anyone on purpose. I just did what needed to be done, when it needed to be done."
Cameron and the Metal girls checked each truck for its cargo.
Things weren't exactly as they expected them to be.
Cameron was also aware of the further bonding which occurred between Savannah and Young Allison at the end of the bridge.
Holly looked towards the end of the bridge as they moved to the back of the big rig
"Maybe it's all supposed to happen this way." Holly said as they entered the back of a big rig.
Cameron didn't like surprises. There must be a way to prevent them.
"Maybe, Holly." Cameron said. "Maybe I need to start jumping a month or two ahead into our future and see what is coming up for our group."
Holly knew a bad idea when she heard one. It was definitely a bad idea.
"You'll create more timelines doing it." Holly said. "You know you will. You won't wait for events to play out like they should. You won't be able to just look."
Cameron still felt very uneasy about the entire episode with Young Allison.
"It's a possibility." Cameron said. "I was very worried for her."
Holly took Cameron's glitching hand in hers.
"We all were." Holly said. "The bottom line is, we won and they lost. Look how everything played out. Isn't this exactly how it was planned? If the trucks wouldn't have stopped, the drones would have needed to act. It was bound to draw more attention if they did."
Cameron tilted her head slightly to the side as she contemplated Holly's words.
The glitching slowed and stopped.
John and John Henry watched everything happen from the drone footage.
"It is hard to believe." John said. "I know what happened because I saw it with my own eyes. It's still hard to believe.'
John Henry agreed with John's assessment. He knew he needed to believe it because he just witnessed it. He understood exactly what John meant.
"I've heard it said, 'Seeing is believing'." John Henry said.
John was still very uneasy about everything that just happened.
"I didn't think I could watch 'It'." John said. "I mean what could have 'happened'."
They could see Savannah and Young Allison alone, off to the side of the road. They knew Savannah was going to be angry with Young Allison.
They were pleasantly surprised to see Savannah reach out and hug Young Allison.
"It's not what I expected." John said.
John Henry knew even if angry words were exchanged, sooner rather than later, Savannah would be her true self and her love for Young Allison would prevail. It's what they just witnessed.
"What did you expect?" John Henry asked. "They love each other."
John thought about all the times he was angry at Cameron. Their 'discussions' didn't usually end like what he just witnessed with Savannah and Young Allison. It was obviously another failure on his part.
"It seems everyone else's love is stronger than mine." John said.
John Henry reminded John of his future.
"It's why they're at your side in the future." John Henry said. "YOU need them to help you and keep you 'human'."
John reflected on the things Cameron told him for a long time.
"It's just like Cameron's been saying for years." John said.
John Henry wanted to make John understand the girls were there for more than just sex. If John treated them in that manner, it wouldn't end well for him.
"You do know you won't be able to 'control' them." John Henry said.
John was never able to control anyone, including Future Riley.
"I figured it out already." John said. "Nobody can control any of them."
John Henry wanted to remind John of the positive contribution he would receive from them.
"THAT is why you need them." John Henry said. "They're your backbone and your armor. They're your love. They will help you control your hate and rage. They'll guide your spirit and be your inspiration."
John knew he was just along for the ride with his life.
"OK, OK. I get it." John said. "Behind every great man is a greater woman. I can see they are both superior to me at the same age. It will be two great females in my case."
"It's three, John." John Henry said. "Two of them are human and one of them is a Terminator. They are all 'females'."
John started to wonder how the time in the bedroom would be spent between the three of them.
His head snapped up and he looked around. What was he thinking? They were in the middle of an operation.
"Is anything else happening we need to know about?" John asked. "I don't want any surprises and I know Cameron won't want any either."
Savannah and Young Allison finished their tearful hug.
Young Allison knew they needed to get the follow up information. They needed to get the trucks moving and off of the road. They didn't know if they were being tracked at the mine or not. The longer everything stayed in one location, the more the chance of being discovered by someone, or someone from the mine became a reality.
"We need to get a report on the truck's cargo." Young Allison said.
Savannah just held Young Allison in her arms. She didn't feel any fear in Young Allison at all. She actually seemed quite unfazed by everything. It was only their personal interaction which affected Young Allison. She expected Young Allison's heart to be pounding. It wasn't, hers was.
"You're not even scared are you?" Savannah asked.
Young Allison didn't see any problem with the operation. It did look for a short time like she may need to jump out of the way of a speeding big rig, but it didn't happen. The most dramatic part of the mission so far was her encounter with Savannah.
"I'm scared I hurt you." Young Allison said. "I'm sorry. I didn't intend to do it. I needed to act when I did."
Savannah wanted to make sure Young Allison understood what she meant.
"I mean you're not even scared about the trucks and what could have happened." Savannah said.
Young Allison carefully calculated everything as she did it.
"I did start to get a little worried." Young Allison said. "I was ready to bolt off to the side. I would have moved in two more seconds if they hadn't started to slow."
Young Allison didn't mention she was about ready to draw her Model 66 and fire it into the driver's side window of the big rig as she moved away from it. If the big rig hadn't slowed down, it's exactly what she would have done. She was sure she would have hit the unsuspecting driver. The next big rig would have been by in another second. She would have given the second driver the same treatment. The third truck would probably go by a few seconds later. She would have engaged the driver as well. She didn't believe any of them would have been able to pull weapons by the time they realized she was a threat.
Savannah wanted to give Young Allison a little reminder.
"Do as I try to do. I want you to remember the future depends on BOTH of US." Savannah said.
Young Allison knew what was necessary going forward.
"OK, we need to be there to be part of it and not dead." Young Allison said. "I get it."
Young Allison didn't think it was a good time to bring it up, but she planned to do a lot of things before she 'checked out'. Her life hadn't really even started yet. She knew she would need to squeeze in as much as possible in the shortest amount of time possible in case she did end up terminated. It didn't seem like the right time to point it out to Savannah. Nonetheless, it was what she intended to do. She was very skilled at accomplishing everything she set out to do.
Savannah let out a long breath as she looked back at the three big rigs.
"Let's go see what they found." Savannah said.
Young Allison pointed at the aircraft.
"One of the Metal girls needs to take off in the Cessna." Young Allison said. "We need to get it off the road."
Savannah would like Young Allison to be the pilot.
"You should be in it." Savannah said.
Young Allison felt she needed to give Savannah a grim reminder of why she was there in the first place.
"We both know I won't be." Young Allison said. "My place is here with you for the duration of this mission. I'm part of whatever is happening here. I need to be here."
Savannah could have done without the grim reminder. It made her wonder if something could have happened to Cameron or her if the trucks hadn't stopped if they staged an accident with a vehicle. Maybe what Young Allison just did it's actually what saved both of them previously to whatever happened to them. Whatever it was it was a very bold and courageous move, even if it was excessively risky
Closing monologue by Cameron:
For What Do You...
Look deep within your soul
Search your heart and mind
Where has the love gone
For what do you hunger
Where are your emotions
Where are your feelings
Where have YOU fallen to
For what do you thirst
What would make you whole
What do you desire
What has been missing
For what do you crave
Where is the sharing
Where is joy and happiness
Where is the affection
For what do you lust
When the aloneness comes
When you feel empty and down
When you feel the reaper call
For what do you starve
A warm hand holding yours
Eyes talking without saying
A gentle touch upon your cheek
For what do you like as dessert
Nobody
