Chapter 955
Fresh Air
The Detail was waiting for them when they left the diner. Young Allison told them to return back to the house when she left with Bob and Anna earlier when they flew to Las Vegas. They wanted to go with her. She didn't think it was a good idea. She wasn't sure what the repercussions were going to be about her actions at the time. She didn't want to cause problems for them.
When Cameron and Holly checked the perimeter around the diner, Cameron called the Detail and told them to escort them back. What she didn't know was the moment the plane flew over the house in Palmdale, they left and went to the airport. They shadowed the two SUVs the entire time once they left the airport, went to the park, and to the diner. They took their protection of Young Allison very seriously.
"Is there any other place you want to go before we go back to your home?" Cameron asked. "We're all here and the Detail is with us. There's plenty of muscle."
Savannah almost said she wanted Young Allison back at her house where she was safer. She also knew how confining it was. She knew Young Allison didn't get out very often. She did feel much more confident with all of the Terminators with them. She decided to let Young Allison make the choice. She went through a lot the last couple of days.
"We could go to the mall or an arcade." Young Allison said. "Maybe even the ice skating rink or miniature golf."
Cameron thought back to another encounter at a miniature golf location. It was the night she was able to get Allison, Vanna, and Jesse to 'bond' with each other. She set the stage for something beautiful for all of them. She always wished she was a part of it.
Cammy thought of her own suggestion. It was something Cameron did before with Sarah, Vanna, and Allison.
"We could go bowling." Cammy said.
Young Allison was up for something new if they went bowling. She was aware there were often other games available there as well.
"I've never done it before." Young Allison said. "There are probably some arcade games there too."
Holly thought of something which would be a little less competitive. She figured if they went bowling, it was exactly what it would turn into. More than likely Cameron and Cammy would set out to outdo each other. Each would want to beat the other one. Things might become contentious if they did. Since they both ran Cameron's program, they would both want to be the best. She could already picture them bowling backwards, or bowling on two lanes simultaneously with a ball in each hand. They might even use their foot to send the ball down the lane either facing forward or backward. It would probably be both. It was bound to draw a lot of attention. It would be more than just for their looks.
"We could see a movie." Holly said. "It's very sedate. Allison can pick the movie. We can actually watch several different ones in the multiplex. It doesn't need to be a superhero movie, or an action movie. it can always be a romance or a comedy."
Anna would just as soon head for home where she could have better control over Young Allison and what happened around her. She would like to see Young Allison safer and secure at home. She felt the same way Savannah did.
"We could go to the house and 'chill out'." Anna said.
Young Allison frowned at Anna when she made her suggestion. She was out and she wanted to do something.
Cameron noticed Young Allison's reaction. She didn't want Young Allison to have to go home already. She wanted her to be able to have some fun and do something she wanted. She thought the decision should be up to Young Allison alone. If Young Allison chose to go home instead, then it's what they would do.
"It will be Allison's choice." Cameron said. "She's earned any treat she wants."
She didn't want to mention Young Allison most likely prevented her from being terminated earlier in the day inside the mine. It was something she was grateful for on multiple levels.
Young Allison quickly looked at Savannah with her big brown puppy dog eyes.
Savannah instantly knew what it was Young Allison actually wanted. It was what she wanted as well. It just wasn't the proper time. It certainly wasn't the proper setting. She didn't want to give Young Allison any illusions. She wanted to give her a friendly but stern warning.
"You know what she means." Savannah said. "Keep it clean."
Young Allison decided to save what she really wanted for another time. It did seem like there were too many people involved currently. She thought about what time it was and what happened earlier in the day.
"Maybe we should wrap things up for the night." Young Allison said. "We could always do something tomorrow or another time. We won't be in a rush then."
Savannah and Anna were very pleased with Young Allison's decision.
Cameron would have liked to have done a little more. Cammy and Holly would have preferred to do more as well.
Cameron and her team arrived at the Young Residence. It was late.
"Are you going to spend the night?" Young Allison asked Cameron.
Young Allison looked back and forth, between Savannah and Cameron. She wondered if they would be 'alone'.
"You can use Allison's room or Claire's room." Holly said.
Holly looked at Savannah and Cameron. She wondered if they would be 'alone'.
Cameron looked at Savannah. She wondered if they would be 'alone'.
Savannah saw where things were going. It was what she wanted too. She also needed to protect the future and John. She made a hard choice. It was the right choice based on the events which occurred. It also sent a message.
"Cameron needs to go back and spend time with John." Savannah said. "There's some 'tension' they need to work out."
Savannah looked at Cammy, who looked away.
Both Cammy and Savannah were almost 'with' John earlier at different times in the last twenty four hours.
It wasn't Cameron's first choice, but she did know what Savannah said needed to be dealt with. She wanted Savannah to spend the night with Young Allison. She wanted to make sure she was adequately protected.
"Holly and Cammy can remain here with Savannah." Cameron said.
Savannah thought Holly would be lonely for Allison. She wanted to look after both of them. If Cammy weren't there, she would want to share with Holly. She made the hard choice again and did what was right.
"Allison will have missed Holly." Savannah said. "Holly can return with you. You both need to see the one who loves you, and who you love."
Cammy smiled at Savannah. She was pleased Savannah allowed her to stay.
Holly looked disappointed. She wanted to spend time with Savannah. She missed Allison too. She knew Allison was her primary responsibility. It appeared to her Savannah made the hard choices for all of them.
Young Allison was pleased Savannah was going to spend the night. She knew it wouldn't be with her the way she wanted it to be, but at least Savannah would stay over with her. There were still plenty of things they could do with each other like they always did.
"Where are you going to sleep?" Young Allison asked.
Savannah didn't want to disturb anyone's room. She didn't want to call them and ask them either. There was an easier choice.
"I can sleep in the bunker." Savannah said. "I'll be out of the way and won't be a problem for anyone or mess anything up in their room."
Young Allison didn't like the idea. She wanted Savannah to be close to her even if they didn't do anything. They did it before, many times. It was like a sleepover if nothing else. The words slipped out of her mouth before she realized how it would sound.
"You can sleep with me." Young Allison said. "You have before."
Young Allison thought the words actually sounded pretty good when they came out. It would certainly set the stage for something to happen, even if it was nothing sexual.
The Metal girls all looked at each other. They weren't exactly sure what Young Allison's statement meant. Everyone could read a lot into it. There was actually nothing to read into it.
Anna thought she better explain what happened before everyone got the wrong idea. Young Allison was her responsibility. She didn't want to seem like she neglected her duties.
"It was all they did. It was just to sleep." Anna quickly said. "It was a 'sleepover."
Savannah liked the idea of sleeping. It actually might be necessary based upon the recent events. She also thought Young Allison might NEED the company after everything which occurred. She may want to talk about the deaths she was responsible for, maybe they would just sleep.
She wouldn't allow it to escalate beyond it even if she wanted to, or Young Allison made a move on her. Right now it was about principle to her. She thought it could be a misguided principal on her part, but she really felt Young Allison needed to be a little older before things got started. She hoped she would be able to expand her horizons, before her field of vision became narrowed and fixated. When she thought about it a little further, it probably already was very focused.
"Maybe I will, Allison." Savannah said. "It has been a rough few days."
Holly wanted to make sure Savannah would feel comfortable. She wouldn't need to sleep in her underwear and could wear something a little more relaxing and less revealing. It would also be clean clothes.
"You can wear Hanna's night clothes." Holly said. "Or mine. We only wear them for a few hours every night, if at all."
Savannah and Young Allison quickly looked at each other with Holly's revelation. It was a clear indication of what actually went on during the nighttime around the Young residence. In reality, it wasn't the secret to anyone. Anyone who could hear knew what was going on in each of the rooms where there was more than one individual as a couple. It applied to a single individual at times.
Young Allison witnessed they were actually naked most of the night. It wasn't the only thing she witnessed either. She spied on every one of them, exactly what they did, and how they did it. She also watched the responses to the things they did and were done to them. She really wanted to do those same things. She wanted to share the love. She wanted to experience the feelings. She wanted to share the feeling of love. She didn't see any reason why she couldn't. If it was what she wanted to do, why shouldn't she be allowed to do it? Other females her age were actively involved in sex acts for years already. She read the articles. She read the online post. She felt she was way behind an experience compared to most females her physical age. She didn't even want to think about the lost years based upon her educational age.
"Savannah can sleep with me. The Metal girls don't need to sleep." Young Allison said. "I think they'll come by and spy on us later on. They'll want to see if it's what's really happening in my room. If they think it's any more than Savannah said, then they don't know her as well as I do. She is as good as her word."
Holly didn't like to be accused of something she didn't normally do. She did actually do it a few times to Young Allison. It wasn't normally how things went down around the Young residence.
"You spy on us." Holly said. "We hear you as you watch us. We see you as well. You might be able to fool the humans, or pull the wool over their eyes, but you can't do it to us."
Young Allison quickly glanced at Savannah. She became defensive. She didn't want it to seem like she did something wrong. She understood the unspoken invite even if it was never vocalized.
"You never shut the door tight." Young Allison said. "If I pass by, I might glance in the direction of the door. It shouldn't be a big deal. We're all adults and know what happens."
Holly quickly came up with an excuse but wasn't very explicit about it.
"Allison doesn't like the door closed tight." Holly said. "She doesn't like confined spaces. She needed to grow up in too many of them."
Holly knew the real reason Allison didn't want the door closed tight. It was so Young Allison could spy on them. Allison told her it was what she used to do in the future and she learned a lot by doing it. Allison knew what was in Young Allison's future and wanted her to be able to enjoy everything from the start. She also wanted Young Allison to know what to do specifically. It wasn't like the staged and fake things on the internet.
Young Alison didn't want them to think it was anything new.
"I already know what goes on." Young Allison said. "It happens everywhere. It happens everywhere around the entire world. It's how people share with each other and express their love and closeness."
Savannah didn't doubt at all Young Allison knew what went on. It was a subject she thought was best discussed at some other time. Preferably it would be a more private time. She wanted to change the subject and the focus of everyone's attention.
"Maybe we can go down to the bunker and see what's happening instead." Savannah said. "We can make sure there's nothing pending so we can rest in peace."
Savannah instantly regretted her last three words. 'Rest In Peace' sounded rather finite and final. It was usually said when someone died and was buried. She really wanted to be somewhere else right now.
Cameron was satisfied Savannah would be there for Young Allison if she needed to talk about any of the events she was involved with. She knew from experience it was something humans needed to do. She thought it was also something machines needed to do from time to time as well. Maybe it was to reaffirm the choices they made.
"Holly and I are going to go back to the Resistance base." Cameron said.
Savannah thought it was the best decision for both Cameron and Holly. She knew Allison and John would want to see them. She briefly wondered what would happen if Allison and John were together when they arrived. No. She knew it wouldn't be the case.
They all gave each other hugs.
Holly, Anna, and Cammy retreated into the bunker to leave Cameron alone with Savannah and Young Allison for a few minutes.
Cameron looked at Young Allison and Savannah standing side by side. It was their 'Natural Order'.
Cameron reached out and touched Young Allison's cheek.
"I want to personally thank you for everything you did the last few days to assist us and 'save us'." Cameron said to Young Allison. "Things may have played out differently for us without your contributions. Never be hesitant to speak up if you can help someone."
Young Allison didn't feel she did too much. She only felt she came up with a few ideas. There were other individuals who did all the heavy lifting. None of them were her.
"I made a few suggestions. CamNet did the rest. YOU did the rest Cameron." Young Allison said. "Never forget who the ones on the ground were for each of the events. It's where the final credit belongs."
Cameron went over all the things Young Allison did with Savannah. She wanted to make sure Savannah knew how great Young Allison's contribution actually was.
Savannah only thought some of the things which occurred were because of Young Allison. She didn't realize it was most of them. It was impressive. She knew Young Allison didn't brag about anything, or pat herself on the back for what she did.
"It's really amazing." Savannah said. "I didn't know so much of it was from Allison. She did an excellent job."
Young Allison didn't want to make a big deal about it. It was one of the reasons why she wanted to remain in the background. She wanted it to seem like everything originated with CamNet.
"I only did what I thought needed to be done, when it needed to be done." Young Allison said. "I don't want a big deal made about it. Please. All some people are going to see is my age. I asked CamNet to help me with everything. Don't forget to put the credit where it really belongs."
Young Allison interacted with the other Resistance members and felt they didn't see her as 'ready'. They didn't understand she was 'ready' for everything.
Savannah was very proud of Young Allison and her accomplishments. She also felt the others shouldn't make a big deal about anything she did. It was why she didn't want anyone to know about the young child she saved in the ocean. She did it because it was the right thing to do at the time. If she didn't act when she did the child would have drowned. She already saw one set of eyes as the life faded out of them. She certainly didn't need to see another set on the small child.
"I understand, Allison." Savannah said. "Sometimes you need to act and don't want others to dwell on it. It's something which needed to be done and we did it. I've felt the same way."
From Cameron's observation it was clear most humans wanted as much credit as they could get for something, even if they didn't do it. She personally witnessed Savannah and Young Allison do just the opposite. They didn't want any of their accomplishments recognized by anyone. They both felt there were things which needed to be done and it's how they should be looked at and nothing more. The fact they turned out successfully is all that should matter to anyone.
"It's one of the many things which make both of you special." Cameron said.
Young Allison felt there was some unresolved business with Cameron and Savannah. It looked like some private issues. She wanted Cameron and Savannah to share some private time alone. They were the ones who faced the real danger. She gave Cameron another hug and went down into the bunker. She found the three Metal girls all tried to look busy. She figured they all just listened to her conversation with Cameron and Savannah. She didn't want them to listen to the next conversation.
"None of you will listen to them." Young Allison said to Holly, Anna, and Cammy as she entered the bunker. "You already heard everything said earlier."
Anna knew the person who spied on everyone the most was Young Allison. She didn't think the current situation would be any different than it normally was around the Young residence.
"You will." Anna said. "You seem to take in a lot around here."
Young Allison thought maybe sometimes she heard or viewed a little more than she should have or was supposed to. She would respect Cameron and Savannah's privacy.
"Not today." Young Allison said. "ALL girls need a few secrets."
Young Allison looked up the stairs with love in her eyes. She knew her time for sharing with Savannah and Cameron would happen one day. It just wouldn't be today. She also thought it probably wouldn't be any time soon either. It was a discouraging thought. She needed to trust Savannah's judgment when the time would be right for them to share.
Cameron and Savannah watched Young Allison head into the bunker.
Cameron looked at Savannah.
"Savannah…." Cameron started.
Savannah understood what Cameron wanted to say. It didn't need to be said. It would happen sooner or later.
"It will happen, Cameron." Savannah said. "Everything will happen when it's supposed to. I don't know how to explain it any other way. When the time is right, everyone will know it."
Cameron frowned a little. She was plagued with a certain amount of frustration.
"I don't know what to do sometimes." Cameron said. "I feel so conflicted."
Savannah felt Cameron's programming caused her a lot of unnecessary pain. Like all of the Terminators she expanded greatly from her creation. Future John wanted her to do certain tasks and made them part of her core programming. Cameron as an individual grew and expanded beyond many of those core principles. When she tried to exceed them, it caused her problems. She wanted Cameron to know most of those problems weren't her fault.
"It's all because of some things Future John placed in your programming." Savannah said. "They cause you grief to be who you've become, from what you were."
Cameron attempted to 'fix' herself on multiple occasions. The end result was always the same. Nothing changed.
"I've tried to delete them or firewall them." Cameron said. "I can't."
Savannah sacrificed what she wanted for herself. It was what she wanted more than anything. She also needed to protect the future.
"Go see John." Savannah said. "You must strengthen your bond with John so it will remain strong, especially when there are four of us. You are the one who will need to be with John most of the time. It's the way it's supposed to be."
Cameron looked at Savannah with love in her eyes.
"You know what I want…." Cameron said.
It was clear Cameron wanted the same thing Savannah did. They wanted each other.
"It will happen for ALL of us." Savannah said. "I promise, Cameron."
Cameron and Savannah hugged some more and expressed their love for each other. It felt like it was building up to a kiss.
Cameron and Savannah moved towards each other, their lips were about to touch.
"I'm ready." Holly said before she came up the stairs from the bunker.
The moment was lost.
"So are WE." Cameron said softly.
"Yes, WE are." Savannah said as softly.
Holly emerged from the bunker door.
"Let's go." Holly said
Savannah and Cameron traded one more long look with each other before Cameron headed towards the door with Holly.
Cameron and Holly left.
Savannah went down into the bunker.
Cammy and Anna got up to leave.
"Where do you two think you're going?" Savannah asked.
Cammy looked at Anna. They were only following orders.
"Cameron told us to give you two 'privacy'." Cammy said.
Savannah didn't need interference, coaching, or prompting from anyone else in regards to her sexual life or anyone else's.
"Please, don't you two start on THAT." Savannah said. "If we need 'privacy' one day, we'll let you know. It's not going to be any time soon."
Young Allison already came to the same conclusion on her own earlier. What Savannah just said reinforced it. She felt a little disappointed, but knew Savannah wanted to watch over her and protect her. It made her love and respect grow even more for Savannah. It showed Savannah really loved her and didn't see her as a sexual conquest, or sex object. She knew it was the way most males would view her.
"Do you want to go over the operation for the last few days or help me study?" Young Allison asked. "Some things are more important than others, especially in the long run."
Savannah felt a little guilty because they hadn't gone anywhere else after they left the diner. Young Allison wanted to go to several places she named off. It didn't happen. They ended up back at the Young residence. It was where she wanted Young Allison to be. She felt she was better protected there because of the bunker below the house. In retrospect, it bothered her some they didn't do more. She wanted to make it up to Young Allison.
"We'll do whatever you want, you earned it." Savannah said. "You can draw, play music, or dance. If you really want we can still go out and do something. You have to keep in mind it's late. You can even take it easy."
Young Allison looked over at all the monitors they used to follow the operations.
"'Easy' doesn't help the Resistance or the future." Young Allison said.
Savannah wanted Young Allison to take a break from everything. She didn't want Young Allison to get fixated on Resistance matters. It shouldn't be the focus of her life right now. She wanted to offer her some other solutions.
"We can watch a movie or just hang out and listen to music or play a game." Savannah said. "You experienced some close calls today. There are a lot of things we can do, without overdoing anything."
Young Allison didn't think it was a big deal. Maybe it was touch and go for a while, but it already passed. Life moved forward not backwards. She felt it was Savannah who was subjected to danger on a regular basis.
"You have close calls all the time." Young Allison said. "I know how close some of them were."
Savannah didn't want anything right now to be about her. She felt Young Allison was her responsibility, not only in the present, but also going forward into the future.
"I don't want you to ever need to face any of those." Savannah said. "I want you protected."
Young Allison looked squarely at Savannah.
"I want you protected too." Young Allison said.
Savannah and Young Allison faced each other. It was clear they both cared deeply about each other. They also worried about each other.
"We almost died today." Savannah said.
Young Allison didn't want to deal with 'what ifs'. There was only what was.
"We didn't." Young Allison said. "We won and they lost, ALL of them. What else matters?"
Savannah still wanted Young Allison to take a break. She would try one more time. She knew what Young Allison really wanted to do.
"You pick. It can be a movie or we can go over the operation." Savannah said.
Young Allison thought a lot happened in the last two days. She wanted to know the full extent of everything which occurred when she wasn't personally involved. She felt all the information was crucial.
"The operation…." Young Allison said. "I want to start from when you and Cameron first took off from Van Nuys Airport."
Savannah figured CamNet clued Young Allison in on the 'problem' Cameron experienced. Savannah didn't want to get into it. She thought Cameron should be part of the process.
"We'll start from when we picked you up." Savannah said. "Cameron should be a part of any discussion we have where you weren't directly involved.
Young Allison decided to push it. She wanted to learn how to assist Cameron in a similar situation.
"I need to know how to help HER also." Young Allison said. "Cameron told me she has 'problems' sometimes."
Savannah didn't want to talk about Cameron behind her back. She didn't want to compromise Cameron's integrity. She didn't want Cameron to look bad. She knew it's exactly what the episode would make Cameron look like. It wasn't something she was willing to do.
"We can discuss it when she's present." Savannah said. "I think some of those things can be viewed as being of a personal nature."
Young Allison did try to talk to Cameron about some of them. Cameron redirected her to speak with Savannah. She was very specific about why Savannah should handle the questions.
"Cameron told me to ASK you so she didn't need to relive them." Young Allison said. "It makes her feel uncomfortable to discuss them. She said it's just like the event happened again when she thinks about it. It causes her a lot of trauma."
Savannah saw the truth in it. It did make Cameron feel uncomfortable to relive what happened during those times. It was time to share them with Young Allison, alone.
Savannah looked at Cammy and Anna. They got the 'message'.
"We're going to patrol the neighborhood for a while." Cammy said. "I will assess the threat potential of everything."
Cammy planned to look for any neighbors who might need to be 'relocated' in one way or another. It was actually something which was carried out more than a few times over the years. Cameron eventually purchased all of the properties so she could pick the tenants.
Anna tried to make light of the situation.
"Some fresh air will do us good." Anna said.
Young Allison stifled a laugh. The Metal girls didn't need to breathe.
"You don't need air." Young Allison said.
Anna shrugged her shoulders.
"It sounded good." Anna said.
Cammy and Anna exited the bunker.
Young Allison looked at Savannah with sincerity.
"Tell me how to help Cameron and you." Young Allison said. "I want the stuff which isn't in the reports. I need to learn to protect her and you as well."
Savannah looked at Young Allison.
"You're right." Savannah said. "We won't have any secrets between us. This is about protecting Cameron…. It may be our most important function along with protecting John. The future needs both of them to succeed."
Young Allison was pleased she made her point. It wasn't much, but it was a start.
"It will be my function as well." Young Allison said. "Protecting Cameron, protects John. Protecting both of them, protects the future. The King and Queen must be protected by the other players on the chessboard."
Savannah wasn't so sure if it was the right thing to equate things too. She didn't think anyone was a Pawn.
Allison was currently with Cam in the room next to Riley's quarters. Her phone rang. It was the ring tone from Holly. She quickly looked at her phone.
"Holly is on her way." Allison said.
Cam figured they could play it a couple of different ways.
"We can finish up before she returns." Cam said. "OR we can wait for her."
Allison moistened her lips slightly. The latter idea excited her immensely.
"You won't mind, Cam?" Allison asked.
Cam wanted to go back to her room. She didn't know how much longer it was going to be 'her room' if Allison moved back to the base. It would be Vanna and Allison in the room all of the time. She wouldn't have a room anymore.
"We all share." Cam said. "Let's go to my room, your room."
Allison could see how things are going to get busy real fast.
"I guess when I move back in, this will happen a lot." Allison said.
Cam figured there would be a lot more 'room hopping'.
"A lot of things will happen." Cam said. "I know everyone is going to be busy."
Allison liked when John Henry carried her earlier. She thought it was exhilarating as it was fun. She wanted Cam to do the same thing.
"Carry me there." Allison said.
Cam started to reach for her clothes.
"Just like this." Allison said. "I don't care if anyone sees me. I want to be held naked in your arms."
Cam scooped up all their clothes.
"You hold these then." Cam said. "I'll hold you."
Allison thought Vanna might be back in the room.
"What if Vanna is there?" Allison asked.
Cam actually hoped she was.
"I don't think it will be a problem." Cam said. "The other girls are 'busy'."
Allison wondered if everybody was involved in a sexual encounter somewhere.
"All of them?" Allison asked.
Cam was ready to widen the selection.
"I think so." Cam said. "Do you wish to join them?"
Allison briefly considered the options.
"Not right now, my mom is there." Allison said. "I don't want to make things awkward in front of a group of Metal girls."
Cam tilted her head slightly.
"Is it a problem?" Cam asked.
Allison felt a little guilty. She thought about it. It was something both Vanna and Jesse wanted to share with her and Claire. She wasn't ready to go there yet.
"Yes." Allison said.
Cam didn't see why. Claire was a beautiful young woman. She was almost the same age as Allison. They should desire each other. There was no traditional parent - child relationship there like there was with Young Allison and Summer.
"Why?" Cam asked. "You were with 'yourself' with Future Allison."
Allison was sure it was one of her most memorable sexual encounters. She didn't feel she had much choice in what happened. She got caught up in events and went along with them. Future Allison was hot.
"It just happened." Allison said. "She TOOK me and I couldn't say NO."
Cam was aware of what happened. She knew Allison didn't want to say NO. Someone would have to be an imbecile to say NO to Future Allison. Wait. John did. She decided to stick with her earlier observation.
"It was clear Future Allison didn't have a problem with it." Cam said.
Allison quickly turned her head and looked at Cam. She wanted to make sure of what she just implied. It was actually something she suspected, but continued to tell herself it wasn't so. Maybe it was.
"Are you saying Future Allison was with my mother, OUR mother?" Allison asked.
Cam's head tilted slightly in the other direction.
"I don't know. I meant she didn't have a problem being with you." Cam said. "You were both with yourself. I think it must have been very beautiful in every way. You could both fulfill whatever secret desires or fantasies you wanted to do."
They neared Vanna's room.
Cam stopped.
"Why have you stopped?" Allison asked.
Cam was able to detect what was happening in the room.
"Vanna is 'busy'." Cam said.
Allison quickly contemplated the possibilities.
"Who is it?" Allison asked. "It's not my mom is it?"
Cam wanted to give Allison some reassurance.
"No, it's Gail." Cam said.
Allison was more than a little relieved to hear it.
"Let's ask if we can join them." Allison said. "I'm ready."
Allison knocked three times on the door.
"Do you have room for two more?" Allison called out.
Closing monologue by Cameron:
What's It Like To Dream
Can one still dream
If they can't sleep
Only from ourselves
Will nightmares seep
Can't one still dream
Of things yet to happen
Yet they seldom occur
As our spirit they dampen
I can still dream
Of what I want things to be
I never need close my eyes
To desire things for me
As the mind within itself seeks
We'd better beware
For the dream can erode
Into a frightful nightmare
I shudder with trepidation
As I hear them scream
Fearful one day I will know
What's it like to dream
Nobody
