With his chin resting on his palm as he checked his phone again, the sturdy hero contemplated his next move as he carefully studied the annoyed expressions of the two girls sitting directly across from him in the restaurant.

Normally you wouldn't find him having to apologize this many times in the last hour and a half but found himself breaking his own record today.

"I tell ya I'm sure there's a perfectly good explanation why he's running late." He gave an apologetic grin which seemed to calm the two, at least for the moment being. 'Come on man where are you?' he quickly texted.

"Is he always this late?" One of the girls asked as she looked at her perfectly manicured nails.

"No of course not." Kirishima nervously rubbed the back of his head as he checked his phone again, refusing to acknowledge that this wasn't the first time his best friend bailed on him when it came to these things.

"It is getting late." The other one looked around the restaurant as she took another sip of her soda.

"He'll be here don't worry. I'm sure he was just caught up in traffic is all." Kirishima barely managed to hold it together when he heard his phone chime. "Look see I'm sure that's him now!" His grin slowly began to fade when he realized it was just a current news article.

"Well? What did he say?"

"Oh um-will you excuse me for just a minute? I'll be right back." He awkwardly grinned before speed walking towards the small hallway leading to the man's room. "Dude you better have a good reason for not being here this time."

X

Blasting himself through the air, Katsuki Bakugo couldn't help but grin widely as the air blew past his face allowing him the peace and freedom to do what he loved doing which was capture and occasionally beat up bad guys. And he was really hoping for the latter today since today wasn't one of his best days.

Others would argue that being a pro hero and having the day off would be a good thing, but how could it when you were being forced to take it off against your will. Wasn't this what they signed up for? Who needed a day off when you loved doing your job?

Narrowing his eyes at his current target below, his grin grew when he saw the terrified eyes of the guy still running from him with a stolen brown purse clutched to his chest.

"DON'T THINK YOU'RE GETTING AWAY FROM ME!"

"Dynamight! Why of all people did it have to be him!" the guy whimpered. "It was just a purse!"

"DON'T CARE!" He grinned when he saw him run into an alley he was familiar with until he felt his phone in his pocket, and he hastily picked up. "Oi this better be important!"

"Hey man where are you?!" Kirishima whisper yelled as he peeked around the corner to make sure their dates were still there.

"Busy and why the fuck are you whispering?"

"Maybe because you left me hanging bro!"

"Hah?" Glancing at his phone Bakugo refocused his attention on the criminal down below. "Can't talk right now Shitty Hair."

"Wait is that-are you working?!" Kirishima frantically screeched successfully turning a few heads of the people walking by.

"So, what if I am!"

"I didn't get any messages about being called in." Kirishima looked back on all his notification. "Unless…dude don't tell me you volunteer to go in on your day off again?"

"I was fuckin bored alright!"

"WHAT?!" Gawking at his phone Kirishima was fairly sure he already drew the attention of everyone in the restaurant by now. "Bakugo!"

Rolling his eyes Bakugo quickly hung up and shoved the phone in his pocket right as a voice came through his earpiece.

"He just hung up on me." Kirishima gaped at the phone in his hand.

"What?" Bakugo spoke into his earpiece. "I'm coming up on six."

"Same on my end." Iida voice came through.

"How the hell?! Damn it Shitty hair!" Bakugo grits his teeth blaming his phone call for momentarily distracting him.

"Kirishima's working?" Yaoyorozu voice echoed through.

"No Ponytail that idiot just called me!"

"Two over here." Jirou said. "But my shift just about ended so I'll see you guy later tonight."

"Then get off the damn line Ears!"

"Remember guys this isn't some sport you could just-"

"Wohoo got another one here!" Kaminari's laughter could be heard from the line.

"Why do I even bother?" Yaoyorozu pouted in defeat as she calmly sat in the chair to monitor any incoming police calls. This wasn't something that they did all the time but felt the need to when things have been slow for some time. But since this was the end of the month criminals tended to be more active during this time, and it seemed that their classmate's competitive nature would still resurface every once in a while.

"HAHA, I'VE GOT YOU NOW!"

"Oh no!" The purse snatcher cried out as he desperately tried to make his legs move faster. Quickly he glanced over his shoulder in time to hear a loud explosion in the sky and felt relieved once he realized Dynamight no longer in sight.

Hysterically laughing while still clutching the purse to his chest, he turned to continue on his way when he jolted back at a loud explosion just centimeters from his feet.

"Where do you think you're going?" Bakugo wildly grinned already standing right behind the guy as he whimpered and fell to his knees.

"Please don't hurt me!"

"Tch." Grabbing a pair of quirk suppressant cuffs around his belt and roughly slammed him to the ground. "Make that seven."

"Everything ok here?" Iida's blurred form came to a complete stop right next to them.

"Got it handled." Bakugo quickly went to work restraining the guy.

"It was just a purse man!" The guy continued to crym throwing the small brown purse directly in Bakugo's chest which just made him growl even more. "Did you just-I'm about to beat this-"

"Dynamight!" Iida's stern tone made the blond now glare directly at him briefly as he roughly pulled the guy to his feet.

"Just call it in already." He didn't hide his annoyance as he impatiently waited for the cops to show up and inwardly scolded himself for taking so long to catch a damn purse snatcher of all people.

"Ingenium here requesting police assistance for Dynamight."

"Already on it Ingenium." Yaoyorozu responded. "They should be there momentary."

"Thank you."

"Did he leave the person in tack this time?"

"For now at least." Iida turned to see Bakugo still shouting at the guy. "How far away are they?"

"ETA five minutes." Yaoyorozu smiled before responding to another call.

"You heard her." Iida said right as Bakugo shoved the guy towards him.

"Here take him."

"You're not sticking around again?"

"Don't have the time for those measly roaches." He said referring to the reporters who were sure to want another interview, which he already hated doing in the first place. He did his job capturing the bad guys what more did those assholes want? Prying into someone's personal life had nothing to do with what they were doing and wouldn't help any of them in becoming the best- despite what his damn publicist said.

Pinching the bridge of his nose he nearly lost it when his phone went off again. "WHAT?!"

"Can't believe you hung up on me!"

"It's not the first-time moron." Bakugo pointedly said.

"Although that may be true." Kirishima nodded to himself. "Can't believe you stood me up dude. Not very manly if you ask me."

"Again with this shit? What are you even talking about?" he asked, turning his back towards a confused Iida.

"Lunch date ring any bells?" He waited a good few seconds before he gave up knowing his friend had no clue about what he was talking about. "Come on man! I wrote it on the calendar."

"Not my fault your handwriting's shit!" He grinned to himself knowing full well he had read it at home but decided to erase it instead. He had never agreed to going either way so it wasn't something Kirishima could really be upset about…ok maybe he did promise him to eventually think about it like all the other times his friend tried to set him up with some random extras. But to be fair it was never really set in stone. He just said it, so he'd finally get off his back about it.

If Kirishima wanted to go on double dates, then he could ask any one of the other idiot friends they had. No need to drag him into it.

"So, what do I tell them?!" Kirishima peeked his head around the corner again with his nerves growing by the second.

"Wait, you're still there?!" Bakugo couldn't help but cackle out loud at the thought repeatedly glancing at his phone. "I would've left long ago Shitty hair."

"Well unlike you I showed up." Kirishima frowned. "Because that is the gentleman thing to do."

"True." Bakugo couldn't deny that. "Just get the hell out of there then."

"Dude! And say what? I'm running out of excuses for you."

Realizing this was Kirishima he was talking to; Bakugo took a long overdramatic exhale as he tried to come up with the simplest and nicest way to help the red head so he could finally get off this damn call and continue working before all the dumb villains were taken. "Alright just calmly tell them they're now worth your time and for them to fuck off and leave you alone. I'm sure they'll understand that."

"Wha…?" Staring open mouthed at his phone, Kirishima stood rotted to the spot for a good minute after Bakugo hung up.

Curiously watching the red head sit himself back down in front of them the two girls exchanged worried looks as he slowly smiled at them.

"So, is he coming?"

"Um…he got called into work last minute and wanted me to tell you how much he hated missing this." He forcibly smiled knowing he didn't have it in him to be so blunt. "He does however apologize and hopes you understand."

"That's so nice of him." They both happily smiled knowing that hero work was important and who could deny that Dynamight was one of the biggest names out there right now along with Shoto and Deku and for a good reason too. As newly up and coming heroes they were the ones everyone always raved about, along with some of the others of course. "Such a gentleman."

"Yeah…" Kirishima awkwardly chuckled before snatching up his phone. "Listen I've got called in too but feel free to order anything you guys want, the bills on me…again." He mumbled the last part as he made his way out and towards the Todoroki agency.

Glancing down at his phone Bakugo couldn't help but grin at the upcoming lecture Kirishima was sure to dish out later that night. But his thoughts were interrupted as soon he heard the sirens followed by the approaching reporters. "Alright I'm outta here!"

"Wait-" Iidas eyes widened along with Bakugo's as they saw a giant ice wall a few blocks away.

"Oh what the hell?!"

"Is that…?"

"I got nine." Todorokis monotone voice sounded through their earpiece.

"What?!" Iida gawked along with the guy he had in handcuffs as the police approached.

"DAMN IT ICY HOT!" Bakugo shouted as he blasted himself in the air.

"Hey Todoroki, that's cheating!" Kaminari whaled on his end.

"I apologize, I was unaware of any rules."

"No man, it's just some people are sore losers that's all." Sero grinned as he watched a woman try and wiggle her way free from his tape. "I got another one."

"Who you calling a sore loser Tape face?!" Bakugo frantically scanned the area around him. "Ponytail!"

"Got a call 12 minutes from your location Dynamight, although Deku's closer-"

"I'm already here." The One For All user stopped in front of a small gas station as three men were loading up a small car with various goods but froze once they saw him.

"Is that Deku?!" They quickly dropped what they were carrying and began running right as he began rounding them up.

"Sorry Kacchan." Deku sheepishly grinned as he looked down at the men who were now restrained with his cuffs.

"How many is that already?" Ojiro walked up behind Yaoyorozu as he watched the screens in front of them since it was already almost the beginning of his shift.

"Not sure." She said until she pressed on the communicator. "Deku how many is that?"

"Huh?" Glancing down at the men it took him a minute to realize what she meant since he was new to the whole thing having just arrived back in Japan about a month ago. "Oh, I'm sorry I didn't realize we were counting…I'd say twelve."

Upon hearing the prolonged silence Deku tapped his earpiece to make sure it was still working. "Is that bad? Sorry I don't know how this all works!" he worriedly waved his hands.

Yaoyorozu smiled along with Ojiro.

"This is complete bullshit." Bakugo grumbled before blasting himself off in another direction as instructed.

As the night slowly creeped up and the streetlights turned on, he found himself slumped over one of the many wooden bar stools lining the counter with his feet propped up on one of the brass foot rails as he continued to scowl down at his cold beer with the square napkin long soaked. The sounds of laughter and music filling the air which he tried to ignore.

Being stuck in a crowded place with a bunch of dumb drunk people was a damn nightmare but he knew he had to make an appearance otherwise he'd never hear the end of it from the people who called themselves his friends.

"Why the long face man?" Kaminari draped an arm over his shoulder as his other hand dug through the bowl of pretzels in front of them before stuffing them in his mouth. "It was a good day today."

"I don't have a long face!" Bakugo gave him a sidelong glare before lifting the bottle to his lips and taking a drink.

"Yeah, you're right. That's your usual face." Kaminari grinned managing to sidestep Bakugo's fist. "No but seriously bro, you've been moodier than usual. Everything ok?"

"Peachy." He grunted right as the door to the bar swung open and he could already hear more of his friends walking in. Maybe Riku could lock the doors to his place and stop letting everyone in.

After the incident last year, the guy decided to leave The Red Beryl and start his business with this bar wanting to start fresh. They would still visit the nightclub from time to time when his friends wouldn't stop bugging him to go out, but to be honest he would much rather prefer staying home and rest up for the next day.

'Hey dude maybe today wasn't your day." Jirou said walking to lean next to Kaminari.

"What the hell you talking about?! Every day is my day!"

"Bakugo!"

Wincing at the familiar voice once he was caught, he could already hear Kirishima's footsteps quickly approaching after greeting everyone nearby.

"What now?"

"Look if you think I'm mad about how you left me all alone at the restaurant I'm really not." Kirishima grinned until he saw the blond simply shrug in return. "Scratch that I'm furious! How could you do that to me?!"

"Simple. I didn't go." He responded but decided to enlighten the guy since he did seem angry which was odd for Kirishima and that's something he didn't want to deal with right now. "Look I didn't give a damn about showing up for some extras I don't even know."

"What did you expect?" Sero chuckled walking up to them. "This is Bakubro you're talking to. When have you seen him out with anyone?"

"The hell is that supposed to mean?!" Bakugo began to argue with Sero and Kaminari while they continued laughing.

Frowning Kirishima nodded, finding his anger instantly being replaced by guilt as he waved Riku down to order his drink. "Guess you have a point. Just…give me a heads-up next time yeah?"

"Tch. What makes you think they'll be a next time." Bakugo scoffed as he took another drink and his eyes shot up to the muted tv screen next to the wall of alcohol bottles as it replayed a news broadcast from a month ago.

Ignoring any conversations that the guys were having with Riku as he walked over, Bakugo concentrated on the headlines that continued to drag along the bottom of the screen.

"Oi turn that shit up."

"Hmm?" Glancing over his shoulder at the tv, Riku grabbed the remote to turn the volume up enough for them to hear.

"Japans very own heroes help rescue civilians after a terrifying landslide which could have easily turned into one of the worst disasters, we've ever seen." The reporter cut to the footage of Hawks flying people away with Tokoyami and Uraraka while Mina, Hagakure and other members helped on the ground. "Thankfully with the help of the pro Hero Hawks we were able to…."

"Wow I still can't believe they're over there and kicking butt no less." Kaminari pumped his fist in the air as they continued to watch the tv until the reporter began changing to a different topic.

What else did they expect? Even Bakugo couldn't hide the fact that he was impressed yet proud of how far they've all come, but that wouldn't change anything since he would continue to strive to be the very best hero there is.

With a barely noticeable smile Bakugo gulped down the rest of his beer before slamming it down and getting up.

"What, you're leaving?" Sero watching him in confusion. "But you only had one drink."

"That's one too many. In case you morons don't know we got work in the morning." Shoving his hands in his pockets he stopped to look back at Kirishima. "Drinks on me."

Pressing his lips together in a tight lip smile, Kirishima nodded understanding the meaning of his subtle apology. "Alright man I'll see you at home."

X

Walking into his house he didn't bother turning on the lights as he walked around the familiar place he shared with the red head. At first everyone was surprised that he had thought about owning his own place so early on, but he thought it was only logical since he would do it eventually and it would beat having to share a damn wall with neighbors he wouldn't even care to know. Having Kirishima as a roommate was easier too since he needed a place to stay, and it would help with the monthly mortgage too- not that he really needed the help since he was making a decent amount of money.

Rummaging through the fridge, he stopped when he pulled out a bottle of water before heading to his bedroom and flopping down on the bed hoping for a good night's sleep.

X

"I love you Katsuki…please forgive me…" Jolting awake with his hand reaching out, he desperately let his eyes roam around his empty room confirming it was only a dream. With his heart still hammering in his chest, he continued to breathe heavily and placed his hand on his damp forehead. 'It's the same damn dream again with the same voice.' He thought to himself as his heart continued to ache. It was the same one he's had for a year, if not this then it would be of something else…of a time where he was truly happy. A time where he would be close to someone in all the ways you could possibly be with someone.

But he knew that wasn't true. He knew this had to be a damn dream, there was no other explanation for something that never happened.

Glancing sideways at the clock on his nightstand, he leaned over to turn off the alarm on his phone knowing there was no point in falling back asleep now since the sun was already seeping through his curtains.

Just as he was about to put his phone down the damn thing actually decided to ring. "What?!"

"Bakugo?"

"Yeah what?" He rolled his eyes at the other person on the other end thinking what a dumb question that was until his body suddenly froze up. Without realizing what was going on or how much time had passed the blonds eyes continued to stare blankly at nothing as if in a daze.

"Wake up Bakugo." The low familiar voice said before hanging up.

Blinking once, twice he suddenly came back to his senses before glaring at the phone in his hand. "The hell?" He frowned when he realized he must've been trying to call someone but couldn't remember who it was.

Speaking of which, after exiting his bathroom, he quickly got ready for another day of work and stomped down the hall making sure to bang on his friend's door extra hard this morning knowing he probably was still sleeping in. "Time for work Shitty Hair!"

Groaning Kirishima buried his face in his pillow before begrudgingly getting up knowing if he didn't then he'd miss out on breakfast.

X

Stomping down the streets he eyed some of the people walking by on a quiet Sunday morning trying to find any hint of trouble alongside a tired Kirishima who wouldn't for the life of him stop yawning.

"It's too damn quiet today."

"No, it's too early." Kirishima rubbed his eyes and waved at a few kids who early pointed at the two. "Although I prefer this to something terrible happing."

"Speak for yourself." Bakugo grunted already bored with their morning patrol.

"Come on, you don't mean that. See what you really mean is that you just need something to keep yourself busy." Kirishima placed a hand on his shoulder. "Maybe a hobby?"

"I have a hobby!" he shrugged his hand off.

"This dude is not a hobby." Kirishima deadpanned.

"Emergency radio call." Shoji spoke into their earpiece.

"Location?" Bakugo stopped in his tracks to look around.

"Ten minutes west of your location Dynamight and Red Riot. Near the bridge."

"We're on it!" Kirishima replied back as they headed in that direction.

"What's the situation?" Bakugo asked.

"Jewely store robbery gone wrong. We have three grey vans holding six armed men fleeing the scene. Quirks unknown with police not far behind."

Once they managed to arrive, they could quickly locate the wild moving van that continued to swerve along all the passing vehicles on the bridge without disregard for them as they knocked some cars out of the way. "The hell's wrong with them?! SLOW THE HELL DOWN!"

"Bakugo!" Kirishima glanced up to see the blond nod in understanding before dropping him down and Kirishima began to sprint forward to make it in time to help some of the cars who already began to skid on the road.

"Where's the other two?!"

"One is south bound." Shoji continued to watch the monitors in front of them. "The others should be there soon."

"Damn it!" Bakugo growled realizing that they must've split up on their way here and wouldn't make it in time to prevent the other two vans from endangering more lives.

"Kacchan?!"

Quickly pressing on his earpiece Bakugo was never so glad to hear his childhood friend's voice on the other end but would rather join Pinky on one of her many shopping trips back in school than ever admit to it. "Where the hell have you been?!"

"Uh you see-"

"Never mind that! One of the vans headed south! I've got this one!"

"Got it! Sero's helping the police try and block the bridge on the other side."

"I-shit!" Bakugo barely had time to dodge a cannonball headed his way emerging from the palms of one of the villains pocking out of the van.

"This might slow him down." The villain grinned.

"Are you crazy that's Dynamight that's on our tails!"

"All the more reason to get rid of him if we want to make it out alive." He grinned, preparing for another shot before his eyes grew wide upon seeing Bakugos menacingy grin.

"Die assholes! AP Shot!" He shouted careful to aim directly at their tires once he saw the police closing in on the other side and the van began to slow down as sparks continued to fly by. His grin was short lived when he saw the same villain lift his hand once more, but this time aimed directly at an oncoming school bus.

All that could be heard were the sounds of screaming children as the bus continued to spin out of control when the cannonball stopped a few feet short with the tires trailing smoke along.

"Shit!" shooting himself over in that direction he continued to curse under his breath when he saw the bus crash against the bridges rail hoping to make it in time.

Within a span of a few seconds the bus began to topple over the bridge as the pleading cries of the children filled his ears.

"Hang on!"

"It's Dynamight!" One of the kids cried out pointing his finger as they followed his movements until he disappeared in front of the bus that continued to tip over.

Using his explosions on both palms while resting his back against the vehicle he grinded his teeth while trying to push upwards and felt it working. "Shitty Hair!"

"On it!" Kirishima grabbed the back of the bus planting his feet hard on the ground as it made a cracking sound on the pavement and slowly began to pull upwards. Squinting and shaking from the effort he briefly caught a familiar glimpse of black and pink fly by recognizing it as the only person it could be. "No way…"

"Almost there…" Bakugo growled unaware of the light tap on top of the roof of the bus before it started emitting a familiar pink glow. The moment he felt the weight reducing and nearly losing his balance along with the bus, he looked back to see it already floating upwards with a familiar figure maneuvering it back to safety of the street. "What the…?"

Once he was sure the bus was in good hands, he quickly stood next to a gaping Kirishima.

"Hey guys." Uraraka beamed down at them from the top of the roof.

The thin line of his brow jumped up in surprise upon seeing the last person he expected to see here and holding a bus as if it weight nothing more than a feather no less. His lips parted in silent disbelief with only one thing coming to mind as he looked at the familiar smiling face in front of him. "Uraraka."
