Chapter 1082
Buzz Them
The B-25 Mitchell thundered across the blue sky. There were seven members of the Resistance onboard it. Four of them were Terminators.
Cameron was in the jump seat behind Savannah and Young Allison, who both piloted the aircraft. Derek was back in the nose and strapped in after arming the guns. All four of the guns were now 'hot'.
The Metal girls in the plane reported everything was clear around them. CamNet made sure there was no air traffic within ten miles of them.
A cruise ship was on its way back from San Francisco. Savannah and Young Allison spotted it.
"Hey, look at the cruise ship." Young Allison said.
Savannah was aware of the cruise ship schedule CamNet now controlled.
"I see it." Savannah said. "It's the one Cameron and John will be on in a few days."
Young Allison wondered what it would be like to get away from it all for a few days. She hadn't really thought about it before, or what it would be like. She watched a number of videos from people onboard various cruise ships. She understood the cruise wasn't necessarily about where the cruise ship went. It was more about the experience of being on the cruise ship and all of the things it offered. There were quite a few amenities the passengers could partake in. Ports of call were of a relatively short duration anyway.
Even from their altitude she could make out a number of features on the cruise ship. She could see what appeared to be four different pools even if they weren't on the same decks. The one at the rear appeared to be on a lower deck as did the one towards the front. The two big pools were towards the center of the ship. They were on an upper deck, even if it wasn't the top deck.
"It looks like a lot of fun." Young Allison said.
Young Allison looked at Savannah. She didn't say what she wanted to say, but she felt her look conveyed what she wanted to do.
Savannah could tell what Young Allison really desired. She wanted to deflect Young Allison from where she was headed. She also believed there was a more fulfilling cruise ship experience waiting for Young Allison with her family than the one she desired for 'other reasons'.
"You can go with your mother and Summer next time." Savannah said. "It will be a better bonding experience for the three of you. You all need to share as much closeness with each other as you can, while you can."
It sounded nice to Young Allison, but she thought of something else. She wanted to make her position perfectly clear. She didn't think there was anything wrong with it, nor was she ashamed of it. It was her true desire.
"I'd like to go with you." Young Allison said. "I'd like it to be just the two of us. I don't mean anything sexual either. I just want us to share time with each other. I want us to spend time alone together."
Savannah was pleased Young Allison could see some things were deeper. She wanted the deeper bond and connection between the two of them. It was how it was now. She didn't want to lose the focus of it. Even when things went to the next level, she wanted the deep emotional bond. She also felt Young Allison needed to keep her priorities straight. There were some things which were very important, even if it didn't seem like they were or mattered.
"You still need to go with your mother and Summer." Savannah said. "Don't neglect your family…."
Savannah knew she didn't have a family anymore, and Young Allison needed to appreciate hers. Family was very important. She tried to think about other things. Maybe it was a mistake as well.
She didn't think it was possible Young Allison and her could be alone with each other for a week on a cruise ship and the relationship wouldn't turn sexual. They would be there with each other all of the day and all of the night. At some point a loving look would turn into a kiss. The kiss would expand into a deeper kiss. It would most likely be followed by touching and then fondling each other. Once it started, there was no stopping it. Events would rapidly spiral out of control. They would be all over each other like there was no tomorrow. Maybe it was the point. At some point there wasn't going to be a tomorrow. It really made her wonder what she was waiting for. She didn't want to get into it right now.
Young Allison felt the need to express herself. There was only one way she could do it now. She turned her attention towards the ship.
"Can we buzz them?" Young Allison asked.
Cameron was a little concerned at first. She was sure of the decision Savannah would make. She was correct.
Savannah glanced over at Young Allison for a moment. She understood the allure of 'showing off'. Sometimes it would be nice to make a 'statement'. Maybe there would be a time where they could buzz the cruise ship. It didn't seem like the right time. They set off to do several other things. She felt they were actually more important. If they were to buzz the cruise ship it would attract a certain amount of attention from those on board.
Life was about choices. She decided she would give Young Allison a choice and see what she wanted to do. She knew young Allison would need to think about what was important and what her priorities actually were.
"No. It would be inadvisable." Savannah said. "You need to head out further west and search for a 'target'. You can buzz the ship, or you can continue on so we can conduct gunnery practice. I won't allow both. You need to decide what is more important to you."
Young Allison needed to remind herself it was a training mission too, not just a pleasure flight. She knew needed to listen to Savannah. It clearly wasn't something to argue about. She was given a choice. She needed to make the most productive use out of the choice. Maybe she would be able to do a little more with the aircraft itself when there wasn't an audience.
"OK." Young Allison said. "I want to practice some maneuvering too."
Savannah wanted Young Allison to show some moderation. She wanted her to think about her actions before they happened. There was a time for impulsiveness, and there was a time for planning. Maybe some things weren't quite as good of an idea as they sounded like when they were first thought about. Sometimes when there was hesitation, there was an opportunity lost forever. Everything needed to be weighed. Everything needed to be thought through. Sometimes there was time to do so, other times there wasn't.
"We'll see." Savannah said.
Savannah wanted Young Allison to learn everything. She hoped to be the one to teach her. They would also work on flying for now. There were many things to learn on many different levels. A person's life was an open book waiting to be written. At this point in her life, there was more to be written than there was to be read.
There were times when a chapter needed to be concluded. There were times when a new chapter needed to be started. It was possible for someone to close the book. If it happened when one wasn't paying attention, it might be more difficult to remember where they actually were. Sometimes the marker fell out of the page the person was on. It could take some time to remember what was actually there before they got back to the right place. There were many factors which could influence things. Sometimes it was easy to lose one's place in 'The Book Of Life'. Some people never found it again.
John checked his monitors. He wanted to know where the plane was at. He was able to view its location previously, but when he inquired as to the nature of the mission, CamNet cut them off. He was the one who pressed the issue earlier, so what they experienced now, or in this case didn't experience, was his fault. He wondered if he should attempt to communicate with CamNet about it or not. It didn't seem like something the General should concern himself with. Maybe he would just wait and see if John Henry could turn up something.
"Is there anything new on the flight?" John asked.
John Henry checked with CamNet. The request went unanswered. He wasn't sure if the 'non response' was worse than an outright 'no' or not. Somehow it seemed like it. He wasn't sure if it was this flagrant disregard, or some attempt to send a directed message. It would be nice to know what it actually was.
"CamNet has blocked all tracking." John Henry said. "It appears any further tracking is going to be unavailable to us at this time."
John Henry wondered what happened to the feed from Sheila. It was no longer coming in either. He didn't know if CamNet blocked it too or if Sheila turned it off. There were too many things distracting him lately. He wasn't sure why.
Now he realized John just spoke to him. He quickly replayed the file.
John wondered how much of their conversations were forwarded to Cameron. He wasn't sure who specifically was responsible for the 'blackout'. He didn't think he really did anything wrong with his request. It was probably because of what he complained about previously. He said he often didn't know what Cameron was up to, until it was done and over with. His main concern was for Cameron's safety, not what she actually did.
"It's on me because we talked about it." John said. "Does CamNet relay the information to Cameron or does CamNet act on her own?"
John Henry was well aware CamNet acted on her own. She actually didn't think there was very much interaction between Cameron and CamNet any longer. He could see how protective CamNet was of Savannah and Young Allison. He believed it was the same feelings Cameron possessed but magnified many times over as was the power of CamNet herself. It was probably because John wasn't part of the equation. It didn't seem like something he should point out. He was certain if John ever did become part of the equation, there was probably going to be a really big problem.
"I've observed both things happen." John Henry said. "I think this was CamNet acting on her own. It is a much more frequent occurrence. Things usually happened in the background previously. They are a little more overt now."
John wondered how much control Cameron still was able to exert over CamNet. He figured he might have about as much control over Cameron as she did over CamNet. He didn't think it was much. He was pretty sure if he ever laid down any ultimatum to Cameron, he was going to lose. There was no need to think about things they didn't have any control over. The more he tried to do anything, would be most likely viewed as more interference.
"Let's stick with normal operations then." John said.
John Henry felt it was why their monitoring was blocked. It was to keep them focused. He knew how easy it was to drift off anymore. JH, his server, needed to deal with most of the things without him.
"I think it was the point." John Henry said. "Derek is with them as well."
John was surprised to hear it. It also gave him some peace of mind with Young Allison there. He knew both Savannah and Derek would watch over her. He also hoped Derek would say something if necessary, but bet Savannah would beat him to it. He would like to be in Derek's place right now, but he wasn't. He could only imagine what Derek experienced currently. He remembered the previous flight Derek went on seemed to mean a great deal to him. It was more than just about his birthday.
"He is?" John asked. "He must be thrilled."
John Henry remembered he was the last time.
"I'm sure he is." John Henry said. "He was before."
It made John wonder who else was on board.
"Is Kyle there too?" John asked.
John Henry checked for any updated information.
"No." John Henry said. "He's going to go on a recon with Bob later on."
John wondered what they were waiting for if they were going to do a Recon. He briefly wondered if his mother and father were engaged in some type of 'other activity'. He didn't want to speculate on it. He would try a different approach. Maybe Bob was busy with another task.
"Where's Bob?" John asked.
John Henry was aware exactly where Bob was at. It was a little surprising to him. He figured it would be to John as well. He would try to give a moderate response and hope it stayed there.
"He's with the girls." John Henry said.
John wondered what Bob was doing with Vanna and Allison. He hoped they hadn't gone on a recon he was unaware of. Somehow it wouldn't surprise him very much if they were. He wanted to confirm his suspicions.
"Bob's with Vanna and Allison?" John asked.
John Henry figured it was going to come out sooner rather than later. He might as well get in front of it. He could already see John's line of thought was way off track.
"No, he's with the younger girls, Summer and Jan." John Henry said. "He's instructing them."
It was a surprise to John. He thought about it for a few moments. He wasn't sure if he liked the implication or not.
"He is?" John asked. "What's he instructing them in?"
John Henry could see what Bob was doing currently.
"It appears to be academic instruction." John Henry said. "I only know he took over for Claire and Hanna."
John wondered where they went. He hoped they weren't off on some type of a recon. He wondered if something else happened he needed to know about.
"Did they go somewhere?" John asked.
John Henry tried to keep it simple.
"They went to Claire's room." John Henry said.
It was an interesting thought for John. He imagined what they were doing as they spoke.
"Oh…." John said as he readjusted his pants.
John Henry noticed John's reaction. He didn't want John's mind to wander too far.
"Bob will be conducting firearms instruction soon." John Henry said. "Claire and Hanna will join them for it."
John saw it as an opportunity to work closer with Claire. He wasn't sure how much flak he would run into.
"Maybe I'll join them." John said.
John Henry could tell John probably wanted another type of 'target practice' with Claire. He knew how to put the brakes on for John. He figured he better make sure John understood the reality of the situation before he got his hopes up, along with anything else.
"Your mother is also going to be there." John Henry said.
John was well aware his mother's actions and approval still meant a great deal to him. Her disapproval still stung too. He really didn't want to get into it with her over anything, especially in front of Claire.
"Maybe I won't then." John said. "I'm sure I'll get an earful about something I can't control."
It seemed to John there was a lot of it. There was a lot he couldn't control. He often felt he was a spectator to his own life. He wanted to blame it on Cameron but knew most of it landed back on him as Future John. He figured it was like everyone else, even if it was a little convoluted. The blame for the things in their life they wanted to complain about always came back to roost on their own shoulders.
Sheila wanted to make sure everything would be ready at their next stop. She also regretted not saying 'hello' to the female prisoner in her own special way. She felt she was distracted now.
"You called ahead, right?" Sheila asked.
Ally looked at Sheila. It seemed like Sheila was a little more confused than she should be. Everything they did since they left the Resistance base earlier, they did together at the same time. They were never apart from each other. She hoped there wasn't going to be some kind of a problem.
"I've been with you the whole time. You heard everything." Ally said. "You sure seem antsy."
Ally hoped there was nothing wrong with Sheila. The fact she didn't 'work' on the female prisoner was enough to show she was off her game. She watched Sheila 'work' before. She would have only needed to spend less than twenty seconds to accomplish everything she wanted in the most painful and perverse way possible. She also thought The prisoner was lucky to keep her tongue after all the verbal abuse she dished out on the way over to Cameron's base previously. She knew the preferred method was for it to be ripped out. She was actually pleased Sheila didn't do either one of those things. She didn't know how long it would last, but she wouldn't complain if they never happened again, at least in her presence.
Sheila felt more than a few conflicting thoughts in her mind.
"I'm worried about Savannah and Young Allison." Sheila said.
Ally tilted her head slightly. Sheila's statement made her wonder even more about Sheila. They were well protected. They were with a group of Terminators as well as another Resistance fighter.
"Why would you be worried about them? Why?" Ally asked. "They're with Cameron, Cammy, Gail, Anna, and Derek."
There was something deeper inside Sheila which reached out. She forgot about the female prisoner as quickly as she remembered her.
"I feel a need to further protect them." Sheila said.
The same feeling called out inside Ally as well. Maybe it wasn't just Sheila who was off.
"I feel it too." Ally said. "Why do we both feel it?"
Sheila reached up and touched her heart. She felt different now. It seemed to be something hard to put into words. The longer she was activated, the more 'feelings' and 'emotions' there seemed to be in her system. Some of them were harder to deal with than others. It didn't seem morals or scruples were among them. There seemed to be plenty of others though.
"I think it is because of what they did for us." Sheila said. "Savannah and Young Allison did something very special for us. It was something they didn't have to do. It was something Nobody needed to do."
Ally could see Sheila wasn't paying attention. Normally she would make a rude comment about what she was about to do. It didn't seem like the right time to do it. She reached over and turned the steering wheel a little. The SUV moved back over the center line into their lane. She wondered if maybe she should take over driving.
"Be careful. You almost hit a heavy set lady crossing the street." Ally said. "The SUV wasn't entirely on the right side of the road either."
Sheila felt a little miffed at Ally questioning her driving ability. She quickly replayed her files to see what actually occurred. She came up with a plausible excuse. She felt it was a pretty good one. She wanted to teach the heavy set lady a lesson. She wanted to give her a reminder about what could happen for not following the rules.
"She wasn't in the crosswalk." Sheila said. "I saw her."
Ally didn't want to argue with Sheila. She didn't know if the answer was true or not. What Sheila said was correct. The heavyset lady wasn't in the crosswalk.
"Let me double check and make sure everything is good to go at the hangar." Ally said.
Ally phoned the hangar at the airport again. Everything was going to be ready when they got there. The plane they wanted was on the ramp and would be fueled and warmed up when they arrived.
"I'm glad we can do this." Sheila said. "It's going smoother than I expected."
Ally thought so too. She was aware they had a heavy hitter on their side.
"I'm surprised this isn't a big deal. I mean what we're doing." Ally said. "CamNet cleared it instantly for us."
The answer to it was clear to Sheila. It wasn't about helping them. It was about Savannah and Young Allison.
"CamNet wants to make sure the girls are protected too." Sheila said.
Ally hadn't seen Sheila fool with her body cam for a while.
"Where's your body cam?" Ally asked.
Sheila didn't think it was a big deal.
"I turned it off and put it away." Sheila said.
It was a surprise to Ally. Usually Sheila played everything to the max.
"It must have been uncomfortable where you last placed it." Ally said.
Sheila knew Ally didn't see the last place it was at or actually in…. It was rather uncomfortable for her. She hadn't turned her pain receptors off. Maybe it was one of the reasons why it still wasn't there.
She didn't know it, but CamNet watched all the footage from her body cam as well. Not just for 'educational' purposes either.
Sheila liked to express herself and make a statement. It actually made her feel excited with what she did in every location.
"I didn't mind." Sheila said. "It turned me on and stimulated me. I like to help others 'learn'."
Ally thought Sheila turned everything into something sexual, even killing.
"What doesn't?" Ally asked. "Everything gets you off."
Sheila wondered about it herself. It seemed most things did. Maybe she was just a sexual individual. She liked the results of her 'Neural Interface'. She didn't see a downside to the 'dark side' Jesse warned her about. It was the side she liked to embrace. Now with her heart, maybe the other side would become dominant. It wasn't something she thought about before. Maybe now it would be.
Who was the one to say what was right or wrong when individuals were held accountable for their actions. When they were crimes against females, there was only one just punishment. She didn't have a problem dishing it out. What was fair, was fair.
Claire was aware Hanna 'worked' on her extra special. She wondered if it was related to their earlier conversation. She would do it in the future to see if she received 'extra special' treatment when she questioned her about her daughters or being manipulated through sex. She decided to try it with other Terminators as well. All sex was good, some of it was just better. This was one of the better times.
Right now at this point it didn't matter, nothing did. Hanna was slowly building her to the 'tipping point'. She knew she would be kept 'there' for as long as she could take it.
Hanna was worried about the earlier conversation with Claire. She decided to treat Claire extra special and make her feel the love. Once she got her to 'heaven', she was going to keep her there as long as possible. She knew she needed to do it in a controlled manner. She pushed Claire all the way to the other side. It had been a close one the other day when it happened. It was a little too far.
Tonight during Claire's sleep she would select a different set of instructions for her to hear over and over. It would be to not worry about Young Allison or anything she was doing. In fact when Claire did think about Young Allison, she would have Claire think about what they were doing right now. It was clear it took Claire's mind off of everything but the 'moment'. The 'moment' Claire would feel over and over and over.
Sometimes it would end quite dramatically. Hanna wasn't about to stop this time until it was. She wanted Claire to have something to think about which was very positive and rewarding. Pleasure was much better than pain with both the mind and body.
Sarah was with Kyle. They were in their room. She wanted to let him know what her plans were for later on.
"I'm going for target practice soon." Sarah said.
It surprised Kyle. He went with her the last few times.
"Are you going by yourself?" Kyle asked.
Sarah did plenty of target practice by herself. It wasn't the case today.
"No. Bob is bringing Jan and Summer for some instruction and practice." Sarah said. "Claire and Hanna will come also."
Kyle thought it was a fairly sizable group.
"Is Jan with Summer now?" Kyle asked.
Sarah was pleased at how much more motivated Jan was to work on her academic studies when Summer was around. She could tell Summer was a positive influence on Jan. She never pushed Jan as hard for anything as she pushed John. Maybe she should have. Cameron always offered to do more and train Jan in other ways as well. She decided to focus on what was currently happening.
"Yes." Sarah said. "Bob is giving them some academic instruction."
Kyle was a little surprised by the information. He was aware Bob worked with Jan sometimes, but it wasn't very often. Usually it was one of the female Terminators who worked with Jan. He needed to think about his responsibilities. He would need to get ready soon as well.
"I have a recon mission planned later on with Bob." Kyle said.
Sarah wanted Kyle to get an early start on his recon. It was one way to do it.
"If you want to get started earlier, Hanna and I can do the firearm's instruction." Sarah said. "Bob can go with you now."
An idea flashed by Kyle. He could see the hungry look in Sarah's eyes.
"The sooner I get back, the sooner we can make love." Kyle said.
Sarah thought of a better idea. She didn't see any need to wait. They were both available now.
"In that case, maybe we can do it first." Sarah said.
It sounded like a plan to Kyle. He didn't think it ever hurt to 'knock one off' when he could. He just needed to make sure Sarah made it as well. If not, there would be Hell to pay later on. It was definitely something to be avoided.
"I'm all for it." Kyle said.
Sarah pulled her top off and started to undress Kyle. It turned into a mad dash to strip each other as fast as possible and get started. They did.
"I don't want you to stop until I make it." Sarah whispered in his ear. "I don't care how you do it."
She planned to make it one way or another, even if she needed to do it herself. She really wanted a finish right now. No, she really needed a finish right now. She wanted to try to relieve herself of as much sexual anxiety as possible before she was with Claire. She didn't want her secret desires to come out.
Kyle contemplated exactly what he would need to do. He figured he would try a few things first and then a couple of different positions. He felt if Sarah wanted to 'make it' the best way to do it was to let her be on top. She could take as much as she wanted, at any speed she wanted, and either as gentle or as forcefully as she wanted. It was always one wild ride when it happened.
It would take his mind off the upcoming recon as well. Those were subject to go hot at the drop of a hat. The worry could wait. It was time for pleasure.
Riley went into the specialist's office with Holly and Jesse. Jesse and Riley went into the examination room together. There was some discussion earlier as to exactly who should accompany Riley into the doctor's office. They came up with a workable solution.
Holly could hear everything from outside. She knew Riley tried to hit on her before. She was concerned seeing Riley get examined might peak her interest. She was interested before, but she was sweet on Allison at the time. Nothing ever happened except Riley tried to kiss her a few times. She was never with anyone before at the time and was very unsure of herself. It was no longer the case. Now she shared with everyone who was eligible, except Riley and Sarah. She did look forward to when Young Allison became active. She loved Allison very much. Young Allison was 'Allison' as well. They were the same individual. Allison used to be Young Allison even if Young Allison would never be Allison.
Jesse went in with Riley as her 'partner'. Her main goal was to make sure the specialist didn't question Riley about the scars and marks on her body. She knew it was always an issue when medical personnel examined any of the girls from the future. The doctors were being paid well not to go outside the scope of the intended exam.
If anyone persisted, they said they were the victim of human traffickers and didn't want to discuss it further. They told the doctor they suffered enough and didn't need to relive it. It always ended the questions. She thought the explanation really wasn't far from the truth for some of the things they all went through in the past, the future.
It went smoother than they thought. The initial diagnosis came in rather quickly. It was determined Riley suffered from 'Mammary Hypoplasia'.
Riley and Jesse looked at each other with the diagnosis. The medical term meant nothing to them. Before they could ask they were given an explanation they could understand.
The specialist explained 'Mammary Hypoplasia', also known as insufficient glandular tissue or 'IGT', occurs when a female didn't develop proper mammary tissue during puberty. Poor nutrition or malnutrition could be contributing factors. Some believe it happens if a teen has very irregular periods. When a female has only three or four menstrual cycles per year, her glandular tissues don't develop all the way and she may struggle with lactation production as a result.
Riley confirmed it is how it was growing up for her. She could hardly tell the specialist she was lucky to find garbage to eat when she was younger. Others in the present were afflicted with the same disorder. Their condition wasn't associated with Skynet. Riley was exposed to radiation as well as chemical and biological agents unleashed by Skynet. At this point in her life there was no fixing it.
The specialist was surprised to learn Jesse was nursing the infant for Riley. When the specialist asked about the baby, Jesse explained their other partner was taking care of the baby.
Holly didn't like all the questions. She wanted to put an end to them. They found out what they needed to know. It wasn't anything good for Riley. There was no way to fix it. She knocked on the door and said they needed to leave.
The Specialist looked Holly over from head to toe and back again.
"Is this her?" The specialist asked.
The specialist was clearly impressed with the way Holly looked.
Jesse wanted to wrap things up.
"No." Jesse said "She's the partner of another one of our friends. She drove us here. She has another appointment elsewhere."
The specialist thought it sounded like a good support group for Riley.
The specialist wished them all the best as they walked away. The parting thought was it would have been nice to examine all three of them.
Samantha was still a little miffed at having to wait in the SUV. She asked Jesse to wear her com so she could hear everything discussed. She wanted to be able to help Riley going forward.
It wasn't good news to hear Riley couldn't expect any increase in production and would need to rely on Vanna and Jesse. She didn't want Riley to feel less than being a good mother.
Jim returned to the SUV. He was on a loose patrol around the area. If there were any irregularities, he wanted to find them before there was an issue.
"Everything is clear around us." Jim said. "No threats have been detected."
Samantha hoped her Resequencing would have been a little further along. Even if she hadn't gone in with Riley, she could have done the patrol. She needed to be mindful of the incident which occurred with Isabel-Cameron. She didn't want to be responsible for bringing Skynet down on Riley or Precious. She didn't want to cause a problem for anyone in the Resistance.
"I can't wait for my sheath to Resequence." Samantha said. "I can do things with Riley and Precious on my own then."
Samantha checked the current shape of her sheath. Her sheath was much closer to Claire's body in shape and appearance. It was her face which would take the most amount of time. The changes were all happening very rapidly at this point.
Jim wanted to give Samantha a little reassurance. There was no need for her to stress out over something there was a solution to.
"There are plenty of Terminators who will watch over them." Jim said. "The children are very special to all of us."
Samantha was fond of everyone, especially the children.
"They are special to me too." Samantha said. "They're the future."
Jim was very pleased he was often called on to go with Sarah and Kyle when they went out with Jan. The children were always very kind to him and all Terminators.
"Yes they are." Jim said.
Samantha listened to her com and could tell they would return soon.
"I see them coming back now." Samantha said.
Jim noticed Riley looked like she was crying.
"Riley looks upset." Jim said.
"I heard her diagnosis." Samantha said. "She will not improve in her ability to nurse. She'll see it as being an unfit mother who is unable to take care of her offspring. If she was still in the future and Precious was born there, her survival would be in question at this point."
Jim thought the problem was solved.
"Cameron has provided for her." Jim said. "She takes care of everyone."
Samantha wondered how far ahead Cameron planned with everything.
"I guess she has and does." Samantha said.
Jim thought Derek would be there to support Riley. He knew the comfort humans sought in each other. He was a little puzzled.
"Why isn't Derek here?" Jim asked.
Riley confided in Samantha her real fear. She was afraid she might have cancer or some other deadly disease. If she was going to die, she didn't want Derek to know.
"Riley didn't want him to hear what was wrong with her, especially if it was something terminal." Samantha said. "I explained Riley's concerns to Cameron and she said she would take care of it."
Jim saw Riley compose herself.
"Riley is smiling now." Jim said.
Samantha was pretty sure she understood the reason for it. Maybe it was a good thing she didn't go in. Riley would try to hold herself together now. It's what she would want her to do anyway. She wanted Riley to make herself stronger. It appeared it was exactly what was going to happen.
"She wants to put on a brave face for me." Samantha said. "It's not me she needs to worry about. She needs to accept the problem is something beyond her control, it was never her fault, and there's no way to fix it. You're correct when you state Cameron took steps to provide for Precious."
Riley didn't know Holly and Samantha heard everything. Cameron would be given a full report. This may alter her plans for other events which needed to happen in the past.
Closing monologue by Cameron:
We Need To Talk
People always together
Slowly drift apart
The game is suddenly finished
Before it even began to start
People get on each others nerves
They no longer communicate
The path is filled with curves
Forward motion ends in a stalemate
Things start to happen
Events only once dreamed
Blinded by lust, greed and desire
Nobody heard as the other screamed
So where does it end
Do we go on and pretend
Do you wait for the snap
As the other's heart you bend
I think we're done here
Unless you want me to walk
You must wise up fast
We need to talk
Nobody
