Chapter 1091
Advise Him
Cam and Jim arrived at the location Kyle and Derek were at. She asked both of them to withdraw to a new spot. She wanted them a little further away from danger.
Derek didn't want to be cut out of the action. He only arrived a short time ago with Ally. He wanted to make his disapproval known, and why.
"If this is going to go hot, we should be here to help." Derek said.
Cam didn't want to risk it. She wanted Derek and Kyle to a more secure location. She decided they were going back to the base. She was aware it's what Cameron would want.
"You can both go back and join your families now." Cam repeated. "There's not much happening here currently. We have the situation under control. There's nothing to worry about."
Kyle thought it should be all hands on deck, especially since they were already there. He was the one who spotted the problem.
"I agree with Derek. We should stay." Kyle said. "None of us knows what's going to happen here. "The fact it looks like nothing is here, is why this place sends off a red flag. We need to see what else plays out. If anything, there was something here. Whatever it was, someone tried to cover it up. If it was here before and gone now, it means it's somewhere else."
Cam needed to agree with Kyle. None of them did know what was going to happen there. It's what made it imperative Derek and Kyle should return to the base. She wanted both of the Reese brothers out of the danger zone.
"You will go back with Jim or Ally." Cam said. "It's final. I would appreciate your cooperation in this matter."
Derek didn't want it to turn into an issue. It seemed to be the way it was headed. He decided to offer another solution.
"We can go back by ourselves." Derek said. "It will leave you with more Terminators here to assist you if anything develops. If something goes wrong, you may need all the help you can get."
Cam worried the location was Fanatic related. The longer they stayed, the more concerned she became.
"This is an unstable recon." Cam said. "You both need to leave, now."
Ally felt the tension building. She decided to act. There was no need for things to turn ugly over what may be nothing. The 'Allison' on her chip cared deeply for the Reese brothers. She believed they would more willingly go back with her than they would with one of the male Terminators. She thought they would see it as much as them taking care of her, as it actually was of her watching over them.
"I'd like to go back with them." Ally said. "We'll watch over each other."
Derek and Kyle grudgingly went with Ally. They didn't want to cause a problem for her. If they didn't go back, the finger was going to be pointed at someone at some point later on because they didn't comply. They didn't want one of the Terminators to be in hot water because of them.
Kyle didn't like being treated with 'kid gloves'. He felt they should have been given a little more consideration, especially since he's the one who identified the issue.
"Why is Cameron sidelining us?" Kyle asked.
Derek left Cameron and Cammy with the Mitchell. He flew back with Ally in the P-51. He knew their flight back was a lot faster than Cameron's flight could have been. There's no way it could be anyone who was on the B-25 when the Mustang flew away from Madera. He knew where Ally was because he was with her the entire time.
"It's not Cameron." Derek said. "I left her and Cammy with the B-25 in Madera."
Two things surprised Kyle.
"Do you mean it was Cam?" Kyle asked. "You went flying in a B-25 today?"
Derek wanted Kyle to know everything.
"Yes and Yes." Derek said. "Next time you can go too. I flew back with Ally in a Mustang. It was one heck of a flight."
Kyle thought it seemed better than his recon mission. He remembered the flight Cameron took them on for Derek's birthday one time. It was in a B-25 as well. What surprised him most was the P-51.
"You came back in a Mustang?" Kyle asked. "It sounds more exciting than this flop."
Ally didn't like the fact Kyle thought Cam was Cameron. She was aware all of them except for Savannah, Young Allison and Summer could never tell Cameron, Cammy, or Cam apart from each other, but they could tell her apart. She knew they all shared Allison's DNA. They were identical because of it. They should all look the same but they didn't. They were always Tight. She seldom was. She needed to look like Allison. Allison relied on her natural beauty. She didn't need to look Tight. It was still a little irritating.
"Am I the only 'Allison based' Terminator you can tell is not 'Cameron'?" Ally asked.
Kyle sensed Ally was miffed. He wanted to diffuse the situation.
"I think so." Kyle said. "You're more like Allison, the sweet girl we watched grow up. It makes you endeared to us. You don't need anything fancy to make you beautiful. You are beautiful. You're like our Allison."
Ally thought Kyle made it sound like something good. She wanted to make sure. She always got a lot of snide comments. She realized those were almost all from Sheila when she thought about it.
"Is it good or bad?" Ally asked.
Derek didn't hesitate with his opinion.
"I can tell you it's something good." Derek said. "We watched Allison grow up. She was just a girl when we found her. She was running for her life and scared to death. We protected her as best as we could. Later on she found Vanna in the burn pile for the dead. We protected her as best as we could as well. We couldn't always do everything, but we all kept each other alive. What else matters in the end?"
Kyle wanted Ally to mellow out some.
"It makes you extra special to both of us." Kyle said.
Ally glanced at both of them. She didn't even need to scan them to see they were being truthful. Her program contained very positive files about Derek and Kyle from the 'Neural Interface' with Allison. They always looked out for her and helped her. She also realized they saw Allison in various states of undress multiple times. She thought about giving them a little 'refresher'. It would probably make them more compliant to go back to the base with her. She was aware Sheila drove around naked before on multiple occasions. She figured she could do it now and the Reese brothers would be more than happy to return home. She thought maybe she needed to show a little restraint. It was an intriguing idea anyway.
"I know a lot of things about Allison from the 'Neural Interface'." Ally said. "I like to be like her. She loves both of you dearly."
Derek liked it as well.
"We like it too." Derek said. "Allison is very special to us. So is Vanna. There isn't anything we wouldn't do for them, any version of them. If they ever need or want anything, all they need to do is come to us."
The Reese brothers hoped they were able to appeal to Ally on a different level. They believe if she looked at her 'Neural Interface' files she would understand them better. They tried one last time to influence Ally.
"You're not going to drive around the block a few times to keep us near here are you?" Derek asked. "It's just in case we're needed. We wouldn't be too far away if we were."
Ally tilted her head slightly. The goal was to return them to a safer location.
"No." Ally said. "You two are going back for dinner. Your wives and children are waiting for you. There is a more important calling you need to answer to."
Derek and Kyle realized they just struck out. The fact dinner was waiting sounded good to them, but they would rather stay where the potential action was at. Skynet needed to be defeated. It's how they would protect their families going forward. They were both aware if Judgment Day occurred, everything would be much more difficult after it. They both had a daughter to worry about now. They knew how the future treated females, especially the young ones.
Ally thought about her earlier comment about how everyone watched her six. She wondered if she should make a comment to the Reese brothers they could both watch her six as they returned to the SUV before they went back to the base. The more files she accessed from the 'Neural Interface', the more she knew how much Allison looked up to the Reese brothers.
She wondered if maybe she could get them alone sometime and see if they would do a little bit more. She noticed the way Derek looked at her on the way back. She knew he thought about it, but did nothing to act on it. Her files indicated he probably wouldn't either, unless she was the one who initiated something. She didn't like what Cameron planned to do with Sheila's chassis. She knew it was only a matter of time until she did it to all of the Metal girls.
Maybe she could ask Derek and Kyle to do a little more for her. What could it hurt to try it? She was sure with two of them, they would probably get her over the top. Besides, all girls need a few secrets.
Cam wanted some better answers. She quickly deduced something wasn't right where they were at. She was glad the Reese brothers weren't in the immediate area any longer. There were Resistance Terminators all around the area now.
"I'm going down there and look around." Cam said.
Bob wanted to back Cam up. She seemed very much like Cameron now. It was never good if Cameron went in alone. It would be no better if Cam did it as 'Cameron'.
"I'll accompany you." Bob said.
Cam wanted to deal with the threat on her own. There was no need to endanger others.
"No." Cam said. "I'm going in alone."
John Henry saw a red flag too. He wanted to offer some intervention but didn't know how effective he would be.
"Cam, are you going to clear this with John first?" John Henry asked. "He's out at the moment. If you don't get approval first it's going to cause a problem. It's definitely going to cause a problem for me."
The 'Cameron' in Cam was on full display. She didn't want anyone to second guess her. She was already irritated because Bob wanted to go with her. She didn't want anyone else to be damaged if there was a problem. Cameron always complained about John's negative attitude. She didn't feel like facing it either. She felt there was no need to involve the General in a trivial matter like this.
"You may advise him what has occurred when he returns." Cam said. "I don't want any problems or interference."
Cam headed out toward the building.
Jim was worried too. He saw it for the problem it was as well.
"She's going 'Cameron' on us." Jim said.
Cam heard them. She didn't want them or anyone to forget who created her.
"I AM 'Cameron'." Cam called back over her shoulder. "Don't ever forget it. I don't."
Cam was a clone of Cameron with a few modifications, very few modifications. Some of Cameron's problems were deleted from her program. It also hadn't been updated since her creation. Even if she was 'Cameron', she was out of date for everything which occurred since then with Cameron. It was actually quite a lot. It still didn't change what was already there. The bottom line was, she knew how to deal with Skynet and she could take care of herself. She also felt she was expendable and there were others who could take her place if she fell. Life moved forward not backwards. Skynet and all of its illegitimate offshoots needed to be terminated. Things didn't get done by thinking about them. It was time for action.
Sheila and Gail were to return the B-25 back to Van Nuys Airport.
Gail wanted to fly the B-25 part of the way back. Sheila only let her fly for five minutes. Gail did a series of maneuvers to get a better feel of the plane before Sheila took control again.
They received the reports from the recon. It was sketchy at best. It might go hot.
"It sounds like they have a situation developing." Gail said.
Sheila thought they would be able to assist those on the ground soon. The structure the team was at wasn't in an isolated area. There were a lot of other buildings around it. There were other people in the vicinity, even if they weren't in the immediate area.
"We'll be back at Van Nuys in five minutes. We're already in the landing pattern." Sheila said.
Gail thought there was a better alternative than using the Mitchell if an attack was necessary. They should still have a 'chaperone'.
"I don't think they'll need us to use the plane." Gail said. "I think Young Allison still has a drone shadowing us from fifty thousand feet. She's very protective. She watches over all of us."
Sheila wondered about it. She knew it was both Young Allison as well as CamNet. She believed CamNet wanted something else.
"It's because CamNet has her eye on Young Allison, just like all of us do." Sheila said. "She's a bigger prize than Savannah."
Sheila's statement didn't sit well with Gail. She loved Savannah and cared about her. She felt Sheila's statement was demeaning to Savannah. It was something she couldn't allow to stand with its less than flattering implication.
"Savannah isn't a prize." Gail said.
Sheila didn't want to argue. She knew Gail took her statement in literal terms. It isn't how it was meant. Her base program was Gail's program with the 'Neural Interface' from Jesse. She didn't feel like explaining it or dancing around the issue. It was simpler to move on.
"Whatever." Sheila said.
Gail didn't care for Sheila's attitude. She wanted to go and assist the others. They could do it on the ground once they landed.
"Let's get this bird returned to Cameron's hangar and we can go join the action." Gail said. "They might even end up with some prisoners if anyone is hiding there."
Sheila tilted her head slightly. It sounded like they should assist those on the ground. If any of the enemy were captured, she would like to hear anything they would say. She knew they would say a lot to her. Maybe some of whatever it was might be related to the Syndicate. She could really have a 'discussion' with those individuals.
"You're right." Sheila said. "Let's get this bird on the ground and go join the action."
They lined up with One Six Right and landed. They taxied to the ramp in front of the hangar and turned the plane over to the hangar crew for servicing and fueling. The Mustang was already serviced and parked inside.
They took one of the SUVs and headed out toward the recon area. They were in a hurry to back the others up.
Savannah and Young Allison finished up a quick bite to eat. They only agreed to stop because it was bothering Cameron. Otherwise they would both have been good with an energy bar and a can of V8. They didn't want to be a problem. Cameron told them why she was worried and what may have afflicted Riley.
Savannah was a little worried to hear the information because of the nearly two years she spent in two different futures. She knew she would have been exposed to a certain amount of toxins in the environment. In both futures, extra care was given to her for all of the food and water she consumed. It was all checked at least twice before it was given to her. It made her feel bad about the other people in those futures who didn't have the same luxury. It was only because Cameron always reminded her she didn't belong in the future was the reason she needed to have the special treatment. She told her the people who survived adapted to the environmental conditions over the years. It's something she wouldn't be able to do because her time 'visiting' would be very limited.
She was reminded of a documentary she saw about people who lived in a third world country. Visitors who drank the water often got sick. The people there who drank it all the time didn't get sick. They were used to whatever was in the water. It was the same way in the future, all of them.
Young Allison was concerned about Riley and she was also concerned about Savannah. Savannah spent time in the future. She didn't think spending time in the past would be as toxic to her body as it was in the future. There were a lot of pollutants in the environment in the Sixties as well. It still wasn't as bad as the future was. She didn't want to go back to an earlier time period. She looked into the living conditions before the Fifties. Each decade back was quite a bit more Spartan and less refined. To go back a hundred, or even a couple of hundred, years wasn't something she would want to do. Anything before then would have to be a complete and total nightmare for the living conditions.
They headed back to the airport.
Cameron sent the Detail ahead to have everything ready. She wanted them to adjust the governor on the UH-1. She wanted to make sure the helicopter would have its maximum performance available to them.
She told Savannah and Young Allison what was happening at the recon location.
Young Allison told Cameron to check with CamNet about the drones. There should be one which went back with Ally and Derek, and one with Gail and Sheila. It should give the recon team some additional firepower they hadn't anticipated. It would be at altitude. A missile could still reach its target in a matter of seconds.
Cameron was pleased there were drones to back up the team. She was aware Cam was in charge at the recon site and things looked fishy. She knew if she was there, it would be her going in to check it out. In a way it really was 'her' anyway. It bothered her a little bit to know Cam was acting as 'Cameron', as her. She was still upset none of her clones merged their programs as they were supposed to. All of them still operated as an 'out of date' version of her. It was Cam, Cammy, and Camille. Anna also ran her program but so far she hadn't become a problem. She wasn't permitted to become sexually active either.
They neared the airport.
There was excitement in the air from Young Allison. She could see a row of helicopters.
"Which one is ours?" Young Allison asked. "I see there are several Iroquois parked there."
Cameron indicated the closest UH-1. It was one the team inspected thoroughly and double checked everything on it to make sure it was in perfect condition.
"Our helicopter is the white and blue one." Cameron said. "Savannah has flown the same Huey before."
Young Allison wanted to learn more on how to fly a helicopter. She knew she was a quick learner. She looked over all of the manuals and watched all the videos.
"Can you teach me?" Young Allison asked. "I want to fly a helicopter as well."
Cameron didn't want Young Allison to get a head of herself. She felt things progressed a little more rapidly than she anticipated for Young Allison.
"You will learn, in time." Cameron said. "You advanced to multi engine aircraft a little earlier than anticipated. You've done quite a few things with aircraft others with years, or even a lifetime of experience, haven't been able to do."
With all the training manuals and videos it was no big deal for Young Allison.
"It was a snap." Young Allison said. "I feel like I could do it in my sleep."
Cameron and Anna exchanged glances but neither commented. It was because she did it in her sleep hundreds of times. It was a part of her nightly 'conditioning'. It was often some repetition along with new subject matter. She wanted the girls to know everything.
They entered the airport and headed for the Iroquois.
John enjoyed the good time he shared eating and talking with his family and friends. There was a whole different feel to the base since Claire, Summer, and Hanna arrived. He wasn't sure why.
He liked the selection of food available they brought back. It wasn't as much as the last time, but it was probably a good thing. He was sure there were still leftovers in the refrigerator from it. It was OK too. The leftovers made a good snack or a quick meal. He sat at his normal spot in the commissary. It was nothing official, it was just where he normally sat.
For whatever reason, it made him think about Charlie's dog. When he sat down to eat breakfast with the pancakes his mother made, the dog looked at him the whole time. Charlie told him it was where the dog normally sat. They gave the dog a few pancakes and it seemed to make it happy. It didn't look like there was a problem anymore. Unfortunately the dog along with Charlie both died because of him. He couldn't dwell on those things. There were too many of them. He really understood why Future John relied more and more on Terminators instead of humans to do things.
John was a little disturbed by his earlier encounter with Summer. He was sure she knew he wasn't forthcoming with all the information. He didn't see the need to make everyone worried needlessly.
He wasn't surprised when Claire sat down in front of him. She made a point of leaning forward as she positioned herself to sit down. He could clearly see inside of her top and took in the fullness of her breasts. The quick peep show was enough to make 'Little Willy' stir. He hoped to keep things under control. Sometimes it wasn't always possible. Things just happened on their own and needed to run their course.
They looked at each other for a long moment before they started to eat. It was clear to both of them there was some type of unspoken attachment.
John noticed Jesse was going to join them, but Vanna stopped her. He saw Allison glance over at them and then she joined Jesse and Vanna. It briefly made him wonder what it would be like to be with Allison and Claire at the same time. They were almost the same age anyway. For some reason the mother-daughter thing was in his head. Maybe it was a mistake to think about it. The next thing in his head was Young Allison. He glanced off to the side and saw Summer looking at him again. She just stared at him until he looked away.
He thought about getting a second helping of food but decided against it. He knew Kyle and Derek were on their way back. He wanted to make sure there was plenty of a selection left for them. They were the ones who were just out in the field. He really wanted to do more of it himself.
John shared some small talk with Claire and stared incessantly at her breasts as he ate. He was sure she noticed. She didn't seem to mind. He hoped to keep 'Little Willy' under control.
He knew he needed to get back to work. He excused himself and headed back to the Command Center.
John Henry filled him in when he arrived.
John wasn't pleased with the latest development.
"Why wasn't I notified about Cam heading there?" John asked.
John Henry decided to give it to John straight.
"You weren't notified because Cam was going to do it anyway. She's operating as 'Cameron' right now." John Henry said. "I didn't want to create a bigger issue."
John still didn't like the chance of destruction involved.
"Beautiful." John said. "I don't want her getting damaged any more than I do Cameron, or anyone else for that matter."
John Henry hoped to deliver some good news.
"Derek and Kyle are on their way back here with Ally." John Henry said. "Either one of them wanted to go. Cam was very insistent they would return to the base. Maybe it's not all bad 'Cameron' is there, even if she isn't."
John was glad to hear it. He hoped the location was deserted.
"If the place is cleared out, it's just as well." John said.
John Henry relayed Kyle's and Derek's concerns.
"What if it's a trap?" John Henry asked.
John liked the operation even less now. It did sound like a trap. It sounded like a trap to catch a Terminator. Wait. It wasn't a Terminator who spotted the problem. It was a human. Maybe it wasn't a trap for a Terminator. It could be someone expected another group to surveil the area and move in on the building. The group would most likely be a group other than theirs. It left the door open for another group of Grays, the Fanatics, the anti-Metal group, or the Syndicate. They might need to be on the lookout for two or more groups at this point.
"Let me talk to Cam." John said.
Cam was surprised it took John this long to call and 'advise' her. She could see why it would be the case when Cameron was around. Right now Cameron wasn't around. She was. She knew what needed to be done and she was doing it.
"Everything is under control." Cam said.
John doubted it.
"I want you to use caution anyway." John said.
Cam could better understand Cameron's irritation when dealing with John on operational matters. This wasn't her first rodeo. She didn't want to be damaged either. She also needed to think about the other troops there. She would take the risk for them.
"I always use caution." Cam said.
John expressed Kyle's warning.
"Kyle said he felt it was a little 'off' there, so keep it in mind." John said. "There's a good chance things aren't as they seem.
Cam knew 'human intuition' paid off before in protecting them. She knew sometimes Vanna would point something out she didn't notice or see on her own. It was never in the context of a combat situation either. Humans just noticed things they didn't, even if they looked at them. She figured it was one of the reasons why humans in the future were able to avoid Terminators for so long in the Wastelands and elsewhere. Sometimes Terminators couldn't 'see' what was right in front of them. It was one of the reasons why they recruited some Grays to go on combat operations with Terminator patrols from time to time.
"I'm aware human intuition has its merits." Cam said.
John wanted more caution used.
"Do you see anything?" John asked.
Cam looked around to see if she was under observation.
"No." Cam said. "There is no trace of any surveillance equipment."
John worried about the other structures around the area.
"What's your take on the situation?" John asked. "What about the surrounding buildings? Maybe we're looking at what someone wants us to look at, instead of what's really there nearby."
Cam assigned the task to the other Terminators. She didn't want to leave any stone unturned.
"There are other teams checking on it." Cam said.
John wanted her to know more assistance was headed her way. He also wanted to remind her about Vanna. He would try to use a subtle method to do it. He hoped the reminder about her human lover would make her think twice in a questionable situation. It never seemed to for Cameron.
"Gail and Sheila are on their way." John said. "If you want to return, you can bring Gail with you."
Cam was now in charge of the operation on the ground. Why would she want to come back? She hadn't even made entry into the structure yet. She wanted to end her conversation with John before he caused her more irritation.
"I don't want to return yet." Cam said. "I'll keep you posted."
The call abruptly ended.
Cam looked around from the street and headed down the side of the building. She checked any doors along the way. She was aware of the last building the Fanatics were in and how it was booby trapped. Not only was the building wired to explode on its own, there was someone there who actually tried to command detonate the building.
She would try to get a look inside before she tried to enter. He knew it was what Cameron attempted to do at the last location before they went up on the roof. She took another look around her and she moved along the side of the building. She realized there could be someone observing her right now. They might wait for more of the team to join her or they might decide to go ahead and take what they could get and blow her up.
Ally called ahead and said she was on the way back with Derek and Kyle. Holly said they were all there still except John. They would wait for them in the commissary. It's what everyone wanted to do.
"I still think something was off about the place we left." Kyle said. "I still don't think we should have left."
Derek wasn't sure if it mattered at this point. It was also out of their hands.
"I think it's a dead end either way." Derek said. "Whatever was there is gone."
Ally didn't want them to continue to worry about it.
"Cam's team will deal with it." Ally said. "Gail and Sheila are going there as well."
Derek was surprised to hear the rest of the group was back.
"They're all back already?" Derek asked.
Ally thought she should clarify things.
"Only Gail and Sheila are back." Ally said. "The others are in Palmdale."
Derek told Kyle all about their flight. He spoke about the live fire and flying under the two bridges. He said Savannah and Young Allison flew most of the way.
What Kyle heard impressed him.
"Young Allison did all those things?" Kyle asked.
Derek was somewhat in awe himself.
They didn't know she broke the short take off distance for a B-25 either.
"She was the one who flew under the Golden Gate Bridge and the Bay Bridge". Derek said. "Cameron and Savannah were very supportive of her."
It all reaffirmed Kyle's belief in the two girls.
"I guess every 'Allison' and every 'Savannah' are really special people." Kyle said.
He looked at Ally and smiled.
It pleased Ally and backed up his earlier statement.
"Savannah and Young Allison are the best of all of them." Ally said.
It was a statement everyone could agree on.
Sheila wanted some action. Being around Savannah and Young Allison got her all wound up. She was ready for any kind of action at this point. Maybe they could get their hands on a Gray. She hoped it would be a female. The last thought only seemed to excite her even more. She knew Savannah and Young Allison wanted her to show some restraint. Maybe she better think twice and play by the rules. Unless it was one of Cameron's 'off the books' operations, which involved non Resistance matters, she needed to tone things back and just bust people up. It was what Terminators did.
"Drive faster so we get there sooner." Sheila said. "I want to make sure we help deliver some justice."
Sheila was still a little upset Gail was driving instead of her. 'Gail' was her base program along with the 'Neural Interface' from Jesse. It made her completely different from Gail's program alone. Jesse warned her of the 'darkness' within her before the 'Neural Interface' procedure. She learned to embrace the 'darkness'. It opened her eyes up to a whole new world. It was a world where she was the one in control. The extreme violence didn't bother her at all. It made her seek out more.
Gail took the keys from Sheila and said she was driving because she hogged most of the flying time in the Mitchell. She felt she should have been able to have equal time. She understood earlier Savannah and Young Allison needed the physical practice to hone their skills. A Terminator skill was already honed and they didn't need the practice.
"You flew, I'm driving." Gail said. "I'll get us there safely."
Gail didn't want to be reckless for a recon which seemed like a dead end.
If any action broke out, Sheila wanted to be there.
"I don't want to miss the party." Sheila said. "I want to know who the blokes are as soon as possible."
Gail wondered why Sheila seemed confused.
"We're going to the recon site, not to a party." Gail said.
Sheila wanted to say something but didn't. Gail wasn't one for joking around much.
"Sure, love." Sheila said.
Sheila still wondered if they would be able to capture a prisoner. She reached down and absentmindedly touched her knife. The cold steel felt very reassuring and comforting to her. She knew it would feel a little differently to anyone she used it on. There was no need to rush things either once she started.
Cameron and Savannah did a 'once around' the UH-1. They showed Young Allison what to look for. Once they were done with it, they climbed inside.
"I like to fly from the copilot's seat because I have better downward visibility." Savannah said.
Young Allison wanted to sit in the front.
"Who's going to be your copilot then?" Young Allison asked.
Savannah glanced at the three Metal girls.
"Anyone is good with me." Savannah said. "I've handled one of these by myself before."
Savannah thought of the times she did and the danger they were in. She still remembered looking behind her and seeing the Metal girls dangling from the side of the helicopter like some type of bizarre circus act.
Cameron thought about what she wanted right now. She wanted some alone time with Young Allison.
"Cammy will be the copilot." Cameron said. "I'll instruct Allison on everything happening from the rear seat in back of both of you."
Cammy moved into the pilot's seat.
Savannah went over all of the start up procedures to get the turbine started and the rotor spinning.
Young Allison looked at the multitude of gauges and switches, especially between the pilot's and copilot's seat. It looked like there were at least four times as many things to look at or operate than there were on the Mitchell.
"I can see there are quite a few instruments and switches." Young Allison said. "Let's get this thing 'burning and turning."
Anna sat in the back seat on Savannah's side. She watched everyone interact. Everything with Cameron, Savannah, and Young Allison was all so smooth and seamless. It was almost like three parts of one individual. Maybe it's what it really was at this point in time. Maybe it was the 'Natural Order' exerting itself.
It was clear Savannah seemed to fill in the missing parts in Cameron's behavior and programming. Young Allison would do the same. Maybe Young Allison would push things a little more, like Cameron. Maybe it's the actual reason why Cameron pushed them herself.
Savannah checked with each one of them before she lifted off to make sure everyone was strapped in and ready.
Savannah looked around her and above her as she kicked up the power. The big rotor chopped into the air and the Huey lifted off very smoothly. It was always very loud on take off.
CamNet cleared the airspace around them.
Savannah flew at three thousand feet. They headed for one of the remote bases where some of the drones were kept. Cameron gave her a heading to follow.
There seemed to be some unspoken issue which needed to be addressed.
Closing monologue by Cameron:
Advise Him
When people call out
Who will hear
Does anyone listen
Will the words adhere
Maybe the words
Are little more than sound
Just some kind of noise
Take a look around
If the words do strike home
Will there be any action
Most of the time
There's no attraction
Some may pay attention
Those are the ones to keep
It will be soon enough
Until they cause one to weep
To watch another stumble
The future looks grim
One may be able to assist
They can try to advise him
Nobody
