Their first kiss had been an accident after a few weeks of him working there.
Bob had tasked proposed them to work together on a piece about the now retired quidditch-star and keeper Hermann Wiel and of the drunken tirade he had performed in the city of Hamburg that weekend. The senior editor acknowledged it was a gossip-story, but saw it as a well-selling story, since Mr Wiel had a big audience and fanbase in the United Kingdom.
Ginny was to write the piece, highlighting Wiel's career as a keeper for the German National Quidditch team and how the incident reflects his public life so far, while Dean was meant to a draw satirical and magically animated cartoon on the topic.
The two stayed after hours in the office to complete article. Ginny was impressed by Dean's artistic skills.
"You are quite the artist, Dean!" Ginny stated. "You definitely captured Wiel's colourful personality!"
"Good to see my crappy career-choice finally pay off! Being a starving artist sounds quite romantic, but it's good a have safe job again!" Dean replied, laughing.
Ginny laughed as well.
The two were the last ones in the office, and deiced to call it a night.
"I'll send our work to Bob via owl tonight, and I'll bet it will be out tomorrow already, considering he wants to capitalise on it" Ginny said as she stood up and started to pack her things.
"Yeah, you'll do that, since your the author of the piece" Dean replied.
"You did great as well. The piece would be nothing without your great art! You'd should be proud of yourself, Dean!" She complimented him, tapping his right shoulder.
"Thanks" he muttered back.
Tension stated to built in the room, at least for him. It was just them, alone.
Dean did not know what came over him, but he stepped closer to Ginny and kissed her directly on the mouth. It just happened.
He was shocked at what he was doing, and so was she. And even more than that, both of them were shocked that she kissed back. It was just like the school of year of 96/97 again, when they sneaked off into corridors to make out. That heat of the moment was back, forgetting completely that they were in their 30's now, with her being married and having 3 children.
When his tongue tried to enter her mouth, she came back to her senses and backed off.
"What was that?" She gasped. "I'm married and have 3 children. This was a mistake"
Dean was stun as well by what had just happened.
"I'm sorry, Ginny, I didn't know what happened" he apologised.
"Me neither… I think I should go first. Like I said before, I'll send Bob our work via owl tonight"
With that she was gone, leaving him alone in the office, still bewildered by what just had happened.
He knew what just happened was wrong, but being honest, he had quite enjoyed the passionate kiss, and it seemed that she had as well.
Dean wasn't sure what to make of it, deciding to go back home as well to sleep it over.
I hope you guys enjoyed the reference to the German Quidditch team ;)
