"Um… who are they?" Flash asks cautiously. While Kagome seems to know and be happy with them, they look a bit wild and they appeared out of seemingly nowhere.

The one that Kagome called Koga stares at him intently. A smile that is more warning than welcoming pulls at his lips as the wolf man pulls Kagome closer to him, "I'm pretty sure I should be the one asking you lot that. When I left Kagome, she definitely wasn't going around with a bunch of weirdly dressed humans…" he trails off and seemingly sniffs at the air, "Though some of you don't exactly smell human."

"That is because they're aliens," Kagome answers, pulling herself out of Koga's grip. She's glad he trusts her enough to trust her judgment as he lets her go easily. Inuyasha would have never trusted her and forcibly kept her behind him, assuming she couldn't take care of herself.

"What are aliens?" Ginta asks, tilting his head curiously.

"I've told you guys stories of the Justice League, right?" Kagome asks. She knows she's told Shippo plenty of stories, but she's pretty sure she's also told the boys. The three wolves nod at her, "Right, well, these are some of the members of the Justice League. Most of the founding members, actually. All we're missing is Aquaman, I think." She quickly introduces everyone to each other.

"Actually, I'm not the Green Lantern that formed the League. I'm a different one." Hal answers her. John Stewart was the Green Lantern who fought against the first known alien invasion. Hal himself wasn't chosen until a few years afterward.

Shippo scrunches his nose in confusion, "There is more than one Green Lantern?"

Kagome lets out a little laugh, "That's not as strange as you'd think, Honey; a lot of hero names are passed down to successors. There have been multiple Flash's, there are at least two Green Lanterns on Earth, there are currently two Superboys, and Robin has been passed down to like five different people, and one was a girl for a short period." A thoughtful look appears as she turns towards Flash, "Which number Flash are you?"

Flash laughs at the confused looks on the faces of the wolves and Shippo, "Technically, the second one, but I'm the one that helped form the League, so most think of me as the first."

Kagome holds out a hand to gesture at him as she addresses the boys, "See, more than one person, same name. But to answer your earlier question, Ginta, aliens come from somewhere that isn't here on Earth. They come from other planets in space." She explains while pointing up at the now-dark sky.

The three wolves look up to the sky before they share a look, deciding to seemingly change the subject that they don't entirely understand, "So if these are the people from your time… how are they here?" Hakkaku asks.

Kagome lets out a sigh, "I have no idea. A barrier appeared out of nowhere, which I'm assuming transported them through time to here; I've never seen one similar to it. While it wasn't something from our side that did it, I do find it suspicious that out of anywhere they could have appeared; they just happened to appear in front of the one person in the feudal era who knows about them. It had to have been someone from the future with powerful magic to transport a big group 500 years into the past. Anyway, our current destination is getting changed to Kaede's. I hope the well will let them travel through since they are connected to the future."

Koga nods in agreement, "We'll have to keep an eye out for anything else suspicious. With this big of a group and no easy means of traveling fast, it'll take at least a week to get back to the old lady's, and that's if we don't run into trouble along the way. And with our luck, we're definitely going to be running into trouble along the way."

Kagome gives a little nod, "I agree. It's been a suspiciously quiet week. Since we split ways, Shippo and I didn't run into anything other than low-level youkai. No hordes, no powerful youkai, no people needing help. It's been a week of relatively peaceful wandering for us two."

Ginta and Hakkaku sigh in unison, "Which means we should be on the lookout for something big coming our way."

Shippo snickers in amusement, always one for chaos.

"Wait, wait, wait. It will take us a week to get to where we're going?" Flash asks with wide eyes. A lot can happen in a week; with their luck, something big will probably go down when they are missing. How many rouges will try to take advantage of the situation? The rest of the League will probably be panicking about their abrupt disappearance, especially since they disappeared from a meeting in the Watchtower. Not to mention all of their proteges, and the trouble they get into if they think their mentors are in trouble. The Batkids themselves could destroy the world.

"I'm pretty sure I told you guys that earlier." Kagome comments.

"You did, but I don't think it was really processed until now. That is a long time for us to be missing. Our friends will probably be very panicked, especially since we can't get a message to them saying that we are fine." Black Canary answers.

Kagome nods her understanding, "I'll do my best to get you to Kaede's as quickly as possible, but I can't guarantee that it will take less than a week."

A stomach rumbling breaks through the silence, and all eyes turn to a red-faced Flash, "Sorry, I haven't eaten in a while."

Kagome smiles at him, "No problem, that just reminded me what I was going to do next." She tells him before turning to address those behind her, "Boys." She calls out lightly.

Ginta and Hakkaku instantly give her all of their attention. While she may not be the official co-leader of their group (as she would need to be mated to Koga for that to happen), they greatly respect her. Plus, it's become increasingly apparent over the years that the most likely scenario is that Kagome and Koga will end up together. Koga already treats her as his mate (not that Kagome has fully realized this); in fact, he defers to her more often than not because of how much he adores her. So, who are they to go against what their pack leader does? Also, they have seen Kagome's unwavering loyalty to anyone she deems as hers, and they know that they fall into that category. It's why they keep calling her sister, hoping it will become official one day. Usually, they shouldn't take orders from anyone who isn't Koga, but their pack is different. They won't hesitate to follow Kagome's orders.

"Yes, Sister?"

The Justice League easily catches how easily she commands the attention of the men she travels with. It's clear to them that these three men respect her to a large degree.

"Could you go out and hunt something for us? Make it something big; a few of them need to eat a lot more than you'd expect. Think of something large enough for a pack of wolves."

The two grin eagerly, "No problem, Sis, we heard there's a boar youkai wreaking havoc with the humans in the area. We'll go kill and prepare it." They give a short wave to Koga, who nods at them, before running off to track down the rogue boar.

"We're going to eat a youkai? Isn't that a bit wrong?" Superman asks hesitantly, glancing between Koga and Shippo.

Kagome shakes her head, "No, not low-level youkai. As I said, they are more animalistic than anything. Low-level youkai are the same type of thing to medium and high-level youkai as normal animals are to us. I thought the same thing initially, but it was explained that it's fine. Now, if somebody tried to eat high-level youkai casually, that is highly looked down upon. Medium-level youkai are a bit more of a grey area, though it is rare to find anyone who prefers to hunt and eat medium-level over low-level."

"Boar youkai is delicious," Shippo chirps happily, his mouth already watering at the idea of eating some, "We don't get to have it that often because of how big they are, and it's too much for just the five of us to eat in one sitting." He looks at their small fire and frowns lightly, "We're going to need a bigger fire to cook it, though."

Before anyone can comment anything, a new voice calls out happily, "Lady Kagome! You're back."

All eyes turn to the new voice. The little girl is familiar to those from the feudal era; it's a new face to the Justice League members. It's a little girl, looking about seven years old. Little antlers stick out of her deer-brown hair. Her legs from knee to foot are deer legs, meaning she has hooves. She's dressed in a simple brown yukata and carrying a bucket full of water that looks almost too heavy for her to carry. Her black eyes are staring at Kagome happily.

Kagome sends the girl a fond smile, "Noriko-chan, what are you doing out here? I'm pretty sure you shouldn't be outside your village unsupervised. Especially at night."

Noriko blushes and tries to lie, "I got chosen to bring you and your traveling party your water." She glances around at the larger group than expected, and a worried frown pulls at her lips, "But it looks like you need more than just the one bucket."

Kagome sends the girl a warning look, "Noriko-chan, I happen to know that you are not of age yet to be put on the list of those who can make deliveries. And I also happen to know that your clan chooses who makes the deliveries based on who wins a fight, which is usually your brother. Where is Yuuto-kun?" Both Noriko and Yuuto are the children of the deer clan's leader. Noriko is only physically seven, while Yuuto looks thirteen. Though with how slowly youkai age, Noriko is probably at least twenty while Yuuto has to have been around for nearly fifty years. She's unsure how slowly deer youkai age, as many breeds age differently. A good example would be Sesshomaru; he only looks to be around eighteen years old, while she knows for a fact that he's at least over 500 years old. Koga is probably around the same. The huge age gap between herself and those around her bothered her initially, especially once she realized that she had crushes on a few of them… but for youkai, they act how old they physically look. Another good example is Shippo, her son. Her son, who is definitely older than she is, acts the age he looks. While they may age slower, they also mature slower. She's learned to ignore the age gaps between humans and youkai and go off of how old they look. 500 to dog demons is the equivalent of 18 to humans. That's just how it is.

Before the little girl can answer, another new voice catches their attention, "NORIKO!" Yuuto chastises his sister, "You are in so much trouble for sneaking away. Father is furious." The boy looks very similar to his sister, same color hair, and eyes. Deer legs and a deer tail can be seen from his standing angle. His horns are longer than his sister's and are a slight golden color. He turns to Kagome and falls into a deep bow, "My apologies, Lady Miko, for any trouble my sister may have caused."

Kagome waves him up, "No need, Yuuto-kun, Noriko-chan was very well-behaved."

Noriko pouts and looks like she's about to cry, "I just wanted to see Lady Kagome again. She doesn't come to the village as often as she comes to the campsite, and you don't let me come with you."

Yuuto sighs, "That is because it can be dangerous out here and you don't have any fighting experience. What if a predator was out searching for something to eat, and you were caught unaware?" Yuuto then gazes around the clearing, eyeing the strangely dressed humans that are accompanying the Miko this time. One bucket of water will not be enough for them, "Lady Miko, I am going to take my sister back to the village and then bring back more water with me. Once again, I apologize for Noriko bothering you."

He doesn't wait for anyone to answer. He takes the water bucket from his sister and puts it on the ground before grabbing her arm and dragging her away. How embarrassing. Lady Kagome doesn't seem to mind, but it has been ingrained in everyone in the village to show nothing but the utmost respect for her. She saved his mother's life, and his father is eternally grateful. The Lady Miko will only see unending hospitality from their village. If the strangely dressed humans hadn't been with them, he may have left Noriko with them while he fetched more water, as Lady Miko seems to enjoy the company of children and knows that she would protect his little sister with her life. However, he does not trust the unfamiliar humans. Lady Miko and the two other humans she used to travel with are the only ones his village truly trusts. Though, those other two far less than Lady Miko.

The group watches the kids silently disappear into the forest before Koga laughs, "Those kids are a riot. Don't worry about the fire, Kagome. I'll get that going and help Ginta and Hakkaku when they return. We'll take care of the meal, you settle in for the night, and keep an eye on our temporary travel partners."

"We do not need to be watched like rowdy children or shifty individuals." Hawkgirl glares at him.

Koga gives her a dangerous smirk, "Yeah, well, I don't trust you. You all just so happened to find Kagome out of nowhere. You don't know any of the rules or how things work around here. From the stories that Kagome tells, it's not like you'll be any help in any fights we get into cause if something decides to fight us, we don't let them walk away to try again later. At most, you'll all be dead weight we need to escort back to the Old Lady's village. Kagome says you're trustworthy, so I'm giving you the benefit of the doubt. Slip up or make things difficult for Kagome, and I promise I won't be so nice anymore."

"Koga," Kagome says in a warning tone. The last thing she needs is for each group to be uneasy with each other as they travel.

He smiles warmly at her, "Just a friendly warning, Kags. I'll go get the bonfire started." And he leaves the clearing for another nearby clearing they've used for larger fires in the past. They can usually catch larger prey here because any leftover food can be given to the nearby deer settlement. Kagome hates wasting food, so they've gotten pretty good at figuring out what size of prey they need to hunt to fill everyone up.

"So… uh, how did you guys all meet?" Black Canary asks cautiously.

Kagome fidgets slightly, not really wanting to admit how they met. Knowing her dad, he'll probably want to try and claim she has Stockholm syndrome or something like that. However, she knows that multiple people in this clearing will be able to tell if she lies, making them even more suspicious of Koga. She sighs, and Shippo snickers at her with a knowing smirk. She bops him lightly on the head, making him laugh harder.

Knowing that his mom doesn't want to say it, Shippo decides to say it for her; he sends a big grin to the group, "Koga kidnapped Kagome and me a few years ago. He heard rumors that she's able to see the jewel shards and his wolf pack were under attack from a flock of Birds of Paradise that were in possession of a couple of jewel shards. So, he kidnapped Mama to have her help him and his pack. Of course, she turned it around on them, and Koga declared her his woman. She ended up befriending the whole pack, which made Inubaka really mad. Not that it takes much to do that."

Green Arrow raises an eyebrow, "Kidnapped?"

Kagome groans, "Just because I'm in a different time did not help my luck of getting kidnapped. If anything, it just made it worse. Koga's pack was very grateful for my help in the end, and we parted ways as friends. If I'm being honest, most of my friends here have started off on a rough note. I wouldn't change anything, though. I'm proud of the friends and allies I've made throughout the years."

Superman looks a bit uneasy, "You make it seem like Koga had a different pack rather than those two boys previously."

Kagome turns sad eyes on him, "Ginta and Hakkaku have always been part of Koga's pack, two of his most trusted. Koga used to lead a rather large pack. Koga has two jewel shards, one in each leg. Naraku wanted those shards and wanted to nip our, at the time, cautious friendship in the bud. He lured all but those three wolves from Koga's pack into a trap, tempting them with more jewel shards. Koga has admitted to me that before he met me, he would've gone with his pack, but since he met me, he didn't have any desire to acquire more power than he had. The rest of his pack didn't agree with him and went after the promised shards against Koga's orders.

"They walked right into a trap, and Naraku had Kagura slaughter all of them. My old group and I found them first, following the rumors that there may be jewel shards to take back there. What we found were the dead wolves with whom we had formed a new allyship. One of Kagura's abilities is to control the bodies of the dead. She reanimated all of the corpses around us and had them attack us. We fought for a while, but no matter how many times we cut one of them down, they just pulled themselves back together. We got rather covered in their blood, making it seem like we were the ones that originally killed them. Right before Koga arrived, all of the bodies we had been fighting suddenly collapsed around us. The scene Koga arrived at was us surrounded by his dead pack, covered in their blood. He was not happy, understandably. I tried to explain to him, but he wouldn't listen at the time. While Koga and Inuyasha fought, Sango and myself went after Kagura. The truth eventually came out, and Koga apologized for jumping to conclusions. That's why Koga is after Naraku, to get justice for his fallen brethren."

"Who is this Naraku?" Batman asks.

Kagome lets out another sigh, "That is a very long conversation I don't particularly feel like having tonight. Long story short, he is a very evil person who thrives off of other's pain. He makes the Joker look like a common criminal in comparison. He's a half-youkai who is obsessed with the jewel and gaining as much power as possible. He gains pleasure from mentally and emotionally torturing people who gain his interest. Take my friend Sango, for example. Naraku wanted to wipe out anyone who might cause a problem for him in the future, so he lured in and targeted a youkai slayer village by disguising himself as a local young lord. He took control of Sango's younger brother, Kohaku, and forced him to kill the whole group that arrived at the castle. At the same time, he sent a horde of youkai to attack the undefended slayer village and completely wipe them out. Sango managed to survive out of sheer will and literally dug herself out of the shallow grave she was put in. Naraku still controls Kohaku; he imbedded a corrupted jewel shard in the back of Kohaku's neck, forcing him to do despicable things."

Kagome glances around the clearing to see outraged Justice League members. She has to hide a wince; while she wants them to take the threat of Naraku seriously, she doesn't want them to try and stay and fight against him. She does not need to worry about one of them falling for one of Naraku's schemes. The only one with any experience with this type of enemy is her dad, with the Joker, but as she said, Naraku makes the Joker look tame. Plus, knowing her dad, he wouldn't want to take the final step to kill Naraku. A prison cannot hold Naraku; he is far too powerful, and quite honestly, he doesn't deserve prison. With how many people's deaths he's attached to, the world will be better without him.

"He sounds despicable," Wonder Woman spits out.

"He is a despicable being that gives youkai a bad name." a man's voice answers her.

They spin to see who is speaking, only to see Yuuto back with two more buckets of water, standing next to a tall man with sprawling golden antlers sprouting from his head. The man is holding a basket filled with various fruits and vegetables.

Kagome stands up and gives the man a light bow, as she knows any deeper bow would upset the man, "Chief Amon, it is an honor to see you. What brings you out of your village?"

The man sets the basket down at the edge of the clearing before giving her the entirety of his attention, "Yuuto told me of your strange traveling partners. I wanted to make sure that they would not be any kind of threat to me or mine." He gives them a considering look, "They have never heard of Naraku before? Is it wise to be traveling with them if so? Will it not drag Naraku's sight straight onto them?"

Kagome gives a sharp sigh as she nods, "I know, but I don't have a choice in the matter. I need to escort them to a village in the West safely. It is of the highest importance that they get there safely and quickly."

Amon tilts his head in consideration, "We have heard recent rumors of Naraku being active within the West, Lady Miko. Take care while traveling. I hope these rations will help your travels."

She smiles at him, "They will, Chief Amon; you have my thanks." She pauses for a moment before asking, "How is your wife? Is her health still stable?"

The tall deer youkai falls into a deep bow, "She is still happy and healthy, Lady Miko, as is the little one. You will always have my village's utmost gratitude."

Kagome does her best to wave him off, "I was happy to help, Chief Amon."

Amon stands up and places his hand on his son's head, "If you need anything before you leave this forest, do not hesitate to ask, Lady Miko." His attention switches to the humans who are watching the exchange with wide eyes, "You are blessed to be under the protection of the Shikon Miko; do not betray the trust placed on you. If you do so, you will find that you will have many enemies coming for your blood. Lady Kagome is looked highly upon by many in the youkai population. She is the only Miko who treats us youkai the same as her own species, offering help and healing to any who needs it. You would be surprised how her little acts of kindness have rallied the trust and loyalty of those she helps." He turns his attention back onto the now red-faced Kagome, "Next time you travel through, please rest within our village so we may better show our thanks. Until next time, Lady Miko." Amon sincerely says before turning to walk away. Yuuto bows formally to Kagome before following his father back into the woods.

Green Lantern whistles in appreciation, "What did you do to earn that kind of respect from him?"

"He spoke very highly of you." Wonder Woman states.

Still blushing in embarrassment, Kagome clears her throat, "I didn't really do anything out of the ordinary. When I was still with my old traveling group, we found a young deer youkai that had been taken from his village and was being held against his will by some human bandits. We defeated the bandits and escorted the kid back home. They wanted to show us their thanks, so we stayed for a few days to rest and restock some supplies. In that time, I learned that Amon's wife had been very injured a few weeks prior, and she wasn't healing well. The fact that she was pregnant then made everyone in the village very anxious. So, I offered to help heal her. They were so nice to us, and being able to heal people is my favorite ability I have received since my powers woke up."

"Mama healed her up in no time and saved her life. Since then, everyone in that village basically worships Mama. They treat Mama well, so I approve." Shippo says smugly.

Kagome rolls her eyes and ruffles her son's hair, "That's enough out of you. Why don't you go help Koga set things up? Get a small lesson tonight." Koga has been teaching Shippo what Kagome's been calling Youkai lessons. It's basically showing him how to use his instincts along with youkai culture and things like that. He's been a world of help. As much as Kagome is able to teach him, how to be a proper youkai is not one of them.

Shippo grins eagerly, "Okay, Mama." He jumps off his Mama's lap before sprinting off in the direction that he knows Koga went.

The league watches the child scamper off on all four limbs, something that unnerves a few of them.

"I don't mean this as anything rude, but how animalistic are youkai? I mean based off of the animal they are based off of." Black Canary asks carefully.

Kagome hums in thought, "It really depends on the breed, I suppose. Some you can easily tell, others hide it very well. It does help some of them to act on those animal instincts at times; otherwise, it tends to build up and comes out at the worst of times." She explains.

"Are they able to turn into the animals they are based on, or is that not something that is possible?" Hawkgirl asks.

"Again, that one depends on the species and the person. There are a few people I know who are able to transform into their animal form, Koga and the boys included. Shippo isn't able to yet, but when he gains his second tail, he'll basically unlock the ability to transform into a fox. Whether or not he'll be good at it or like doing it is another thing altogether."

"We need to talk about all of this," Batman growls out, wanting to get to talking about the deeper issues here. His daughter is fighting for her life here, and he needs to help her as much as he can so she can stop.

Kagome deflates a bit and bites at her lip. "I guess this is unavoidable, " she mumbles.
