Chapter V

.

Sango was looking at herself in the full body mirror she had by the dresser, as Kasumi, on her part, was currently tightening the obi around her waist. Tonight, she had to dress traditionally, just like her father requested. Mr. Taijiya mentioned they would be receiving an important guest, who he wanted to introduce to her. Sango had a hunch about who it could be, and that was keeping her dubitative.

"Just one more turn," Kasumi said, pulling her out of her thoughts, bringing her back to the present moment.

"Thank you," was her answer, one that sounded far terser than she usually was.

Kasumi observed her through the mirror for an instant. Sango was beautifully attired with a finely-woven kimono; simple, in a way, but of a pale pink color, and with a design depicting flowers yet to bloom which perfectly highlighted Sango's most gentle features.

"You look stunning, my lady. Pink is most definitely your color," Kasumi insisted, maybe as a way to cheer her up. Sango, however, thought that Kagome would have something to argue against that, "Lady Kyōfū will be delighted."

Sango's cheek lifted into a weak smile, before the woman's kindness; she had been working for her family since Sango had use of memory… but she felt unable to show any sign of joy. Today's dinner was something her father had imposed on her, whose mind was still deeply rooted in the Edo period.

She sighed as silently as possible then, wary of being heard by Kasumi, before inhaling deeply, as a way to gather her strength and be able to step out of her room, following the path leading to the main building, where the dinner would be held. The long corridors inside her residence spoke of the centuries of tradition her family had been upholding; hers was one of the oldest one in Edo, now known as Tokyo. Sango still had a hard time remembering the new name, despite growing up with that new label; a fact accentuated by her father's strong adherence to tradition.

Once inside the place they would be receiving their guests in, she stood by her father, and her brother Kohaku, as they waited for the three people who would be dinning with them tonight. It didn't take them long to hear the gentle steps, and rustle of silk, coming from one of them; the shoji was slowly slid open by Nara, another female servant in the family, who then stood up and bowed deeply to someone else, inviting them to come in. Sango there saw lady Kyōfū stepping in first, the oldest of the three brothers from that family, one of Kioto's most rooted, it seemed.

As her gaze followed her approaching figure, Sango had to admit the exotic beauty of Kagura Kyōfū; her hair was tied up in an elegant bun, slightly finer than what's traditional in hairstyles of the kind. The decoration amidst the strands of her chestnut brown hair alluded at the ever-closer spring, and her kimono, of at least four layers, hinted to the intense pink of the cherry blossoms. Sango became then aware of the way the woman seemed to walk on the fine edge between what is traditional, while touching on the modern in a way she was impressed her father hadn't questioned already. Her eyes found him by her side, her face unturning, only to check again he seemed delighted with everything Kagura was expressing. Sango even came to think she was hypnotizing him with the intensity of her eyes, red as lycoris.

"Kyōfū-sama, I'm grateful for your, and your family's presence in my home." Were her father's words as greetings.

"The honor is ours, Taijiya-sama. My brothers were eager to get here, as was I," was the woman's reply, with a delicate reverence that did not take away any of her presence; an imponent aura Sango could almost feel on her skin.

Her gaze wandered then, for a short instant, to Kagura's younger sister; Kanna. Her irises were of a color as dark as the depths of the well at Kagome's house. Her features showed no expression, a stark contrast to her brother, whose violet gaze settled on her with the same energy as someone who reads your destiny.

"Hakudoshi, please; deliver our present to Mr. Taijiya's daughter." Kagura requested.

Soon enough, she had a square box in front of her, about two hands wide, beautifully wrapped in pale pink silk, and delicately tied with a golden string. In that moment, she realized exactly what was happening.

.

InuYasha began to pull aside, gently, the veil hiding Iruīgyō's head. He would do so every time he walked at a steady pace around her; and the first thing he managed to see was her hair.

"The hair should be darker," he ordered, examining closely the long and flat strands. The veil fell off then, "and with more waves."

There, he was witness to the hair of the youkai curling itself in long and gentle waves that InuYasha analyzed with disinterest.

"Dark like a night without moon?" The oiran inquired, a sentence that made him feel slightly uncomfortable.

"Dark, like the starlight reflection on a moonless night," he narrowed down. In his mind he pictured the blueish color of the sky, and the way the stars could shine in that canvas.

Iruīgyō did as ordered, yet InuYasha furrowed his brow as he completed half a turn around the youkai; he let out a mildly content sound at end. Then, her features came into his view, which were slightly paler than he expected.

"The skin should be darker," he stopped, observing the change, "Less," he continued, then took two more steps to stand in front of the youkai, "a bit more pink to the cheeks," the light coming from the lamps was enough for him to know the blush was too intense, "less, "he ordered, then his voice let out a disapproval growl he held back as best he could.

"Like this, my lord? I'm here to please you." The creature spoke, lowering her gaze and slightly bowing her head, as her voice acquired a learned submissive tone that InuYasha ignored.

"The lips, more plump, "he reached for Iruīgyō's features, and to the verge he came to touch her lower lip with his thumb. His gaze was fixed on her mouth, as the flesh swelled until it was of a rose's petal pink. "Like that," he let out.

InuYasha remained there for a while, observing just that one part of the oiran's features, and noted how his blood began to run mildly hotter, making his body denser and his primitive instinct to flare up; her mouth looked like her mouth, which only reminded him of his unsettling desire of making her his. He adverted his eyes then, to the gaze on him, its chestnut brown far too neutral when compared with the many hues he had seen that very same morning.

He pulled his hand back from the youkai' face, then descended, slipping the edge of his claws beneath the knot of the obi she had tied on the front side; that detail, allowed her to grant his every wish and desire… and he did indeed have a desire, one that the emptiness he felt inside his stomach was telling him… it wasn't there.

"The chest more ample," he shut his mind up, "hips, wider," he kept searching.

Iruīgyō's figure shifted beneath the layers of cloth she was wearing, and InuYasha noticed the tension building up in his every muscle; he wanted to undress her, to grip her flesh as he grinded her insides breathless. He took a step away, and sought to control his desires, then went back to circle around her, his gaze watching every inch in search of something he may want to model to what his instinct demanded.

"Maybe, my lord, you'd like to drink something," were the oiran's words, trying to calm him, yet InuYasha had another plan.

"Undress," he ordered.

Iruīgyō nodded once, showing complete obedience, as her hands went to her obi's knots to pull at them gently. InuYasha focused on that action, and tried to imagine what his desires had wished for since he arrived; her hands, her hands. The oiran started towards the part where she could store her kimono.

"No," InuYasha's voice thundered through the room, not leaving margin for doubts, "just undress."

Iruīgyō understood the order, and the subjacent urgency; her hands letting the heavy silk obi fall on the wooden floor. That piece of clothing was followed by the cotton piece holding the kimono under her chest, and the one that was meant for the same, on her waist.

InuYasha watched the youkai's every movement with a barely contained impatience, not really knowing what he was expecting. His yearning was building up with every piece of clothing falling to the floor, and when the oiran let go of her next-to last item, a thick lock of night-like hair fell forward, to her chest, and for an instant InuYasha saw the image he had come here for. He took a step closer, to her, and reached out to help her slide off her juban on the back, with a certain admirable gentleness. Then, before him, his gaze had a clear view of her complete state of undress; her chest was firm, and ample, with a soft fall to her flesh he felt tempted to cup in the palm of his hand. He recreated the movement a few centimeters away from the oiran, noting her holding back her breath. His unfinished caress descended to her waist then, a somewhat tame curve to the wider shape of her hips, in whose center he glimpsed the triangle of her pubis, highlighted by her fine and dark hair. His fingers reached out to it then, as he felt tempted to touch her… yet he didn't, despite the blood rushing through his vein, boiling, a sensation similar to when the youkai inside him would take over.

He stepped closer, and lifted a hand to trace the round curve of her left breast with the tip of his finger, reddening the skin with the graze of his claw. He felt motivated and excited, wanting to fill his mouth with that pink and delicious-looking nipple, full of the pulsing color of desire; he neared his thumb towards it, caressing it, dragging the throbbing erect flesh, drawing a circle that swelled it further. He then caught the scent of the oiran's increasing excitement, hearing a light sigh coming out of her lips, destined to further light his inner fire. Something seemed out of place then, in his thoughts, and he looked her in the eye.

"Do I have a name?" The youkai wondered.

He observed her carefully, looking intently in her similar features, for something… yet he stepped back, trying to control his own breathing. He could not understand what kind of force was keeping him there, standing, instead of pushing her down and taking her like an animal. In his mind, the name the youkai asked for was clear, it had been there, resonating, the whole day and even a few days before.

Kagome, he thought, his heart now a mess.

His gaze went down to the wooden floor, and he growled. He did so loudly and with so much force that Iruīgyō covered her ears involuntarily…

And after that, InuYasha left the room.

Kagome felt herself invaded by a warm, thick sensation that was melting her bones and giving her goosebumps, an unknown heat threatening to burn her slowly, from the inside, as she lost herself. The stimulus in her body were many and varied; the caress of something wet on her neck, the presence of something hard between her legs. She wasn't ignorant to the nature of the body, her mother had taught her about sex, about pleasure and of how couples meet in the middle of the night, amidst the sheets of a futon.

Was that what was happening now?

The question faded in her mind when she felt the wet kisses descend from her neck, to her collarbone, and then stopped for a moment. She noted the pressed lips, the suction and the tongue that pulled the skin off the bone. Kagome felt that her body was frantically answering that almost wild, primal touch; and her mind, in some last shred of sanity, she thought about something supernatural. Her belly began to burn then, and the hardness between her legs seemed to want to enter her and ran her through. She felt the wet kisses descend further then, decisive, towards one of her nipples and Kagome herself took a hand to her other one, imitating the sensations on the first, as it was licked and sucked by the man of golden eyes, whose intense gaze became locked on her with the brightness of a star in a moonless night. She then noted an urging pain in her nipple, mixed with the pleasure coming from it; her emotions became intertwined then, filled with shame before that discovery.

She took a deep breath, filling every inch of her with the air she lacked, and snapped her eyes open, understanding immediately she had been dreaming; a fact that made her feel desire, first, then frustration. She turned on the futon, and curled in on herself as if trying to gather all of her parts that had been spread about; to be Kagome again, the well-behaved, educated girl of an honorable family, leaving behind the woman she perceived in that dream. She felt annoyed at how wet she was between her legs, and how it reminded her of how much she had desired for that man to be inside her.

And before the memory, her desire would only rise.

She attempted to calm herself down with a breathing exercise she knew, and when she finally dimmed those sensations, she felt a certain irritation on her chest, and took a hand there. She touched it gently, over the cloth of her yukata, and became startled by the pain she felt right on her nipple, just like in her dream. She sat bolt straight on her futon then, exposing her breast to examine it under the dull light coming from outside, and discovering it was mildly reddened. A strange idea appeared inside her mind then, as a shiver ran through her body.

It could not be.
