Chapter 20

Wow, What how!

Sarah's POV

Jason and Percy began to slowly circle each other. Both boys remained on their toes, swords up and constantly moving, just as Luke's had. Their armor and weapons glited two different colors in the bright sun. Bronze and gold, the boy's faces were shaded beneath their war helms. The single attack came when an archer fired at Jason. He swiftly cut the projectile out of the air, but Percy's sword was already in motion. Jason just managed to defend against Percy's Lightning fast attack, as the swords clashed sparks flew from the two different metals. Then the duel became too intense for my untrained eye to follow. The blades mer arcs of light as they whistled through the air, sparks few every time the blades met. Dust rose from the hard packed arena floor, as their feet mard the ground. The strikes became faster and faster, as the two young warrior's battle carried them across the training ground. At this point all the other fights had been won or lost, yet none but the archers dared to interfere with Jason and Percy's dewl. Arrows began to rain down on the two swordsmen. And even though seven or more arrows were launched at the same time almost none of them made contact. I sat riveted by the sean unfolding below me. A quick glance around the arena told me that all eyes were on them, and money was changing hands. Though I wouldn't bet against either of them, because they seemed so evenly matched. And that's when it happened, Jason tried the disarming trick I had been learning earlier. But Percy managed to keep a hold on his sword, then seemed to think better of it and through his sword at Jason. Completely caching him off guard, Jason jerked sideways to avoid the projectile. Which spiraled past him pinning itself in the dirt floor and sinking to the hilt. Jason yelled something along the lines of,

"WHAT!"

To which Percy just laughed, the sound of it made me uneasy because it made him sound a little crazy. I wondered what Percy was going to do now that he had literally thrown away his weapon. The answer came instley. Percy threw his arms out as if he were striking a statue of Reo pose. His green bandana still firmly in place around his arm,

he raised his arms, all the coolers burst open and the water within attacked Jason as a baby title wave. The water slammed into Jason knocking him to the ground. He rose to a kneeling position just in time to deflect Percy's sword slash. How he regained his weapon, I didn't know. With amazing strength, Jason pushed Percy's sword away, rolling to the side to regain his feet. Percy attacked instantly using the move he had been teaching us. Jason's sword went spinning, as Percy raised his for another attack. But this time it was Jason who thrust out his hands and two things happened at the same time. Jason's weapon came back to his hand as if it was Thor's hammer, and Percy went flying like he had just been force pushed by a Jedi. Percy hit the ground hard. As Jason advanced on him, Percy pulled himself up and charged Jason. As he went the water rushed out of the ground separating into octopus-like arms which tried to grab Jason. Who lifted off the ground performing aerial evasive maneuvers. He made it past the watery arms and their baldes met with a resounding clang throwing sparks. Sword on sword they battled with Jason still airborne. Next to me Annie muttered,

"Sometimes rong, very rong."
