Chapter 38 passing time Annabeth's POV
I was alone in my cabin as I took out the large leather bound notebook from my camp trunk. Placing it on a table I rain my hand over the beautifully decorated cover, when Chiron had given it to me for my ninth birthday he said the book was handmade by a brother of mine about six hundred years ago. He told me that this book was meant to have stories written down in it so that they would never be forgotten. Chiron had given it to me because I loved hearing all of his old stories from half bloods that had lived so long ago, Chiron said that my brother would have liked me to have it because he had been the same way. I had been so happy with the gift I had promised to fill every page with stories from camp that deserved to be remembered, Chiron had only given me one of those sad smiles as he expressed that he was sure I would do just that. Later I learned that my brother had the same intention, but he had given the empty book to Chiron for safekeeping before he left on a quest he would never return from. Over the last nine years I spent at Camp I faithfully recorded stories, I was coming close to filling every page, however, there were several pages left to fill before I would also embark on a quest that I would most likely not return from. It was a combination of the memory about this book, and Sarah's question about three weeks ago that had given me the perfect idea of how to distract the camp. A new tradition would start tonight in the amphitheater, where for the first time the complete story of how the Titan War started and ended would be told. The whole thing would take about a week to tell, and it would not be easy. Telling the story would mean that those of us who were a part of it would have to remember… some things we tried to forget. On the other hand a new generation of Half Bloods would hopefully one day take our place and they should know that Heroes existed outside of the ancient days.
Perhaps I will learn something new tonight as well, more stories that I can add to this book so I can hopefully keep the promise I made to Chiron when I was nine years old. Grabbing a pen I opened the book carefully flipping through the pages until I found an empty one where I dated the top of the page then began

I don't have the time available to write all the details, however it should be known that we now have a plan to reach Tartarus, though it is risky and I would not advise anyone to try it.
Two weeks ago we conducted a raid on the Mermecas to obtain the bronze needed to reinforce and repair all the new weapons and armor I hope will never be needed…/
