The Smurfocalypse Chapter 129: The Search for the Savant Cure Part 23: Hope and Courage. Blossom's Celestial Trial.
Storm and Hefty stuck together and tried to find a way to get back to the world of the living. Meanwhile Blossom was having the time of her life, but then she realized something. Things weren't the same here. She was beginning to miss the others. She sat on a bench on a street corner and was looking rather sad which isn't something that was typical for her even considering past events.
"This place is great, but I miss Stormy…" Blossom thought as she sat.
It wasn't long before she was approached. It is a utopia in the afterlife after all. She wasn't going to be left to stew in negativity. A Smurf dressed in white with a dumbbell in his right hand sat next to her.
"You look pretty upset. Are you ok?" The Smurf said.
Blossom looked over to him still visibly sad.
"I miss my friend." Blossom said.
"I miss my friends too sometimes. You seem new here so I guess it just recently happened. When I think about my friends I try to do things they enjoyed. I'm Tuffy by the way." Tuffy said.
"I'm Blossom." Blossom said with a smile.
"That's a pretty name. Can you tell me more about your friend?" Tuffy said.
"Why does that name sound familiar?" Blossom thought.
"Stormy is very strong and brave! I want to be just like her some day! She wears mostly green and her hair is a little shorter than mine I guess? Oh! She's always carrying her bow!" Blossom said.
"I had a friend when I was alive who was the bravest Smurf I had ever met in my entire life. He was literally afraid of nothing! The Demons attacked and he immediately took steps to save us. I wanted to be just like him too… I tried my best, but I got cocky. I honestly didn't think I would die, but…" Tuffy said.
Blossom was still not completely putting two and two together.
"I have to find Stormy no matter what. She got hurt really bad, and now sometimes she's mean towards Smurfs she doesn't know. I don't want her to get in trouble!" Blossom said.
"I understand." Sweepy said.
"I love it here, but it's not the same without Stormy." Blossom said.
Tuffy frowns sympathetically.
"Blossom… I don't know how to explain this without hurting you. She's probably not here." Tuffy said.
"But she needs me!" Blossom shouted.
Blossom stands up and adjusts her quiver so the strap isn't uncomfortable.
"Even if it takes forever. I have to find her." Blossom said with a look of determination on her face.
Tuffy stood and started to casually follow her as they coincidentally were heading in the same direction.
"I hope you're able to find peace." Tuffy said walking off and disappearing into his hut.
Blossom took off running without care at all for whoever she encountered. It seemed like an endless stretch, like there was no end to this massive Smurf Village. She keeps running aimlessly until she turns a corner and when not looking rams right into Lily who was carrying a wooden crate of fruit and knocks her over sending what she was carrying everywhere.
"Oh my gosh! I'm so sorry! Here let me help!" Blossom said kneeling down immediately and scooping up the fruit.
Lilly sits up and rubs the back of her head still amazed that no physical pain is felt here.
"It's fine. It's not like it hurts anymore." Lily said giggling before looking up and seeing Blossom kneeling right over her picking up an apple.
"Blossom?!" Lily asked excitedly.
"Lily!?" Blossom shouted meeting her gaze.
Blossom sloppily throws herself onto Lily and cheerfully invades her personal space by showering her with affection in the form of a massive hug.
"I miss you every day! I never thought I'd ever see you again!" Blossom said with tears in her eyes pressing her cheek against Lily's.
"Relax Blossom you're making a scene." Lily said with a smile.
Blossom parts from the hug.
"Stormy! I have to find Stormy!" Blossom shouts remembering her initial mission here.
"Storm? I saw her earlier today. She was talking about finding someone." Lily said.
"Please Lily! You have to tell me where she went!" Blossom said.
"I don't know. She was acting funny so I figured she sort of had a bad time when it happened like me. I was just letting her figure things out alone." Lily said.
"It was so bad for me I don't even remember the moment it happened. All I remember was Storm and I were delivering food to the group of Smurfs we were trying to help… and then one of them came towards me with a sword. I just woke up somewhere around here on the floor. I don't actually remember it happening to me. Blossom and Storm must not remember a thing either… They think they're still alive." Lily thought.
Blossom didn't seem to be all that happy that Lily had no idea where Storm had gone.
"Why am I suddenly seeing everyone here? They're all so tense… Something really bad must have happened to all of them. I really wish I could have been there to help." Lily thought.
"Maybe Willow knows where Storm is!" Lily said.
Blossom shook her head confusedly.
"Willow?" Blossom asked.
"She's around here somewhere. Hanging out with all the old Smurfs." Lily said.
Blossom frowned. Her last memories of Willow were of her warding off the blackhearted as Smurfy Grove burned around them. She was running as fast as she could. Storm was screaming for everyone to run and not look back no matter what. She hated that it was the last thing she remembers Willow ever doing.
"Is she really here Lily?" Blossom asked.
Lily smiles and nods taking her hand and grasping it.
"I'll take you to her. She likes to come to this part of town around this time." Lily said.
Lily leads Blossom by the hand out of the alley they were in, around the corner, and down the street where an event was being set up. Papa Smurf and Willow were both busy, but when Lily showed up with Blossom she stopped everything and immediately approached them.
"Willow!" Lily said cheerfully.
"Nice to see you as always Lily." Willow said with a smile.
Her eyes were immediately focused on Blossom.
"Oh no… Blossom." Willow thought with a slight frown.
"Willow!" Blossom yelled breaking away from lily and hugging onto her.
"Willow I missed you!" Blossom said.
"I miss all of you girls too." Willow said.
She gives a moment for Blossom to collect herself, and then asked the question of the hour.
"Blossom what happened?" Willow asked.
"I lost Stormy! I don't know where she went!" Blossom shouts a tear going down her cheek.
"Are you sure she's here?" Willow asked.
"She's here Willow. They just got here today." Lily said.
"Aw Blossom… I wish there was something more I could have done. You didn't deserve this. None of you did." Willow said.
"Stormy needs my help… I have to find her. What if something happens to her?" Blossom said.
This was always sad. The trauma that death follows stains the soul, and it takes time to heal even in this serene place. Willow was just assuming Blossom somehow died and was distraught. Papa Smurf however sensed something. He had already been through this today so he couldn't quite help but invade this intimate moment. He walks up rather direct without saying anything and pinches Blossom's cheek and pulls on it making her facial expression comical and Blossom yelps.
"Just as I suspected… She's not dead." Papa Smurf said.
"Don't pinch me you creepy old Smurf." Blossom said.
Everyone around her that heard her and knew Papa Smurf cracks up. Papa Smurf stands there with a look on his face as though he had never in his life experienced such non-sense and didn't know how to respond.
"Blossom be nice." Lily said.
"Nah its ok. He is a creepy old Smurf." Willow said jokingly with a smile.
"Oh yeah?" Papa Smurf said with a smile.
"Anyway… If you're not dead Blossom what are you doing here?" Willow asked.
"It must have something to do with why Storm was here." Lily said.
"She's under a powerful spell." Papa Smurf said sensing the magic that was clinging to Blossom.
"Now that you mention it…" Willow said examining Blossom.
"Whatever happened Blossom must not stay here. If she gets to use to things her soul will integrate." Papa Smurf said.
"Yeah this is powerful stuff. Natural ancient magic just emitting from her." Willow said.
"What did you do?" Lily asked jokingly.
"I didn't do anything." Blossom said.
"Did you mess with something you weren't supposed to touch?" Lily asked with a huge smile.
"You really gotta stop doing that Blossom." Willow said with a chuckle.
"Stop teasing me!" Blossom said with a smile.
"Blossom in order to find your friend, and Hefty you will have to let the Smurfette you want to be flow freely. Not the Smurfette you are… The one you want to be." Papa Smurf said.
"The Smurfette I want to be…" Blossom repeated.
Blossom pictured herself brave and strong like Storm, fearless, the picture of what it meant to be cool and her expression hardens to reflect Storm's.
"Right. I won't give up! I will find Stormy no matter what." Blossom said.
Blossom then turned from everyone and continued down the street the way she came to continue her search.
