So, I decided to give Pru most of Alec's lines in this scene, mostly because I feel like she would find the subtle ways to try and get back at Sterling for the team. Just my opinion.

The episode referenced in this one-shot is Season 2, Episode 12: The Zanzibar Marketplace Job.

Just a note, there are direct word quotes from the episode. A big thanks to the Leverage, Seriously, website, who had posted the pretty accurate transcripts from the entire original series. You can find it at leverage.

The legalities. I do not own any of the Leverage franchise (characters, places, and objects especially) and this is mostly au.Rated M just to be on the safe side.

Also, please don't be afraid to write reviews. I would love to hear from you all!

Hope you enjoy!

Prompt: "I hate you."

"Why? I'm lovely."

"You know, Alec, I think that you're overexaggerating. This van doesn't smell that bad."

Alec Hardison frowned over at Prudence Beck as she continued watching the screens in front of her. Parker was trying to get to the storage room that was currently holding the egg that they were after. However, there was a security guard standing at the door and neither Eliot nor Tara were in a position to get down there to help her. Until Sterling appeared out of nowhere and distracted the guard.

This continued for a few minutes as Parker got into the room and Sterling slowly lead the guard away. After a moment, they heard Parker state before she left the storage room. "I've got the package."

Tara responded from the Embassy's ballroom. "Great. Let's clear out before they realize that the egg is gone. Anyone seen Nate?"

Before anyone had a chance to answer Tara's question (and Alec was watching the cameras looking for the mastermind), Sterling started speaking from the hallway where he'd caught up with Parker. "You're welcome. I don't know how you people ever manager…"

All of a sudden, Alec saw Sterling put his hand up to his ear as if in pain. The hacker furrowed his brow until he heard Pru speak up from next to him. "Oh, I'm so sorry, Sterling. That just happens sometimes with the earbuds. You know, feedback."

The hacker rolled his eyes as he looked down at the control board in front of the manager to see her fingers over the controls for just Sterling's comm. Apparently, Sterling hadn't caught on yet because he started talking again. "As I was saying, the method…"

"Oops, sorry, must be a glitch with you comm."

"This isn't going to stop until I…"

Alec was fighting back a smirk as he watched Pru press down on the button once again, causing feedback just in Sterling's comm. "Stop talking."

"I hate you, woman."

"Why? I'm lovely."

Alec snorted as Pru smirked at Sterling's mutterings. The manager was really going to let the insurance investigator have it on this job. And he knew that the majority of the team was definitely backing her play.
