Author's Note: Hello everyone! Here we are again and as always hope you have been well this past month. Things have been busier on my end so please forgive me if I was slower in responding to reviews or if I missed a response altogether.
Two things of note to share before we get into chapter number 1 are that I'll be moving into a new place next month. Unsure of how this will affect my time right now just felt it was best to give you all a head in case the weeks get away from me and the chapter is delayed.
The next point of order is the importance of finally finishing up all the setup and getting into more of the meat of the story. I do apologize for this taking so long and for cutting it short, but I plan on the next chapter being much more action focused, which we haven't done in a while. I'm excited to get things started and hear people's thoughts.
Alright, that's all for now, thank you again for reading my stuff and please, enjoy.
"How long is this going to take Kakarot? I thought you knew where you were going."
"Sorry, sorry," Goku laughed as he and Vegeta walked down the halls of the lookout. "I haven't been here in a while."
Opening another one of the many doors along the hallway Goku peeked his head in hoping to find a room large enough for a spar with the saiyan prince. Seeing a small room more suited for meditation had him sighing and closing the door behind him.
"Man, it's harder to navigate than I remember."
"This is pointless Kakarot," Vegeta seethed. "Just pick a room and be done with it."
"Just be patient this next one should be good."
Continuing their march through the lookout Goku's eyes picked up Yamcha walking around the bend and toward them.
"Oh, I bet Yamcha will know where who can find a room, Goku thought to himself as he raised his hand to wave his friend over. "Hey Yam-"
The saiyan's voice faded as he caught sight of the woman following the former bandit. She walked with long black hair tied into a ponytail he had seen years ago. The clothes she had been wearing before were still present yet seemed to be straining against her body as if she had grown taller and had outgrown them. Yet it was not the woman's physical appearance that took Goku's breath away, it was the newfound wellspring of ki he could sense rolling off of her that tickled the back of his neck and the base of his spine. It was as if he was seeing his wife for the very first time.
"Chi?" Goku almost whispered as Yamcha and the ox princess walked up to him. "Is that you?"
"Yes?" Chichi answered confused. "Who else would it be?"
"You…look different."
"I bet she does," Yamcha nodded. "She's had her potential released by Krillin in the time chamber. Took some time to rest in there but we're on our way to start training in the Pendulum Room now."
"Training? Wait Chi are you going to fight too?"
"I intend to," Chichi said firmly. "For now your friend will be teaching me a few things to get me better prepared."
"You're going to be teaching her Yamcha?" Goku asked in surprise.
"Is it that shocking?" Yamcha said in a huff. "I know a thing or two I can pass on."
"Oh really? And what that be human?" Vegeta said with a sneer. "Perhaps a few pointers on how to get in the way?"
"You must be Vegeta."
The saiyan prince cocked an eyebrow at the woman who was eyeing him with a deep scowl as if it was taking all her effort not to lash out at him.
"I am," Vegeta answered. "You are Kakarot's woman I take it."
"My name is Chichi," The ox princess said with a snap. "It would be better for your health to remember it."
"Ah another earthling eager for a fight they cannot win," Vegeta said with glee. "I see how you caught Kakarot's eye."
"Hey now Chi we're all on the same side here," Goku said trying his best to mediate.
"For his sake, it should remain that way," Chichi answered back before turning to Goku. "I'll be in the Pendulum Room if you need me Goku but don't try and talk me out of this. I'm tired of watching you and Gohan fighting all by yourselves while I do nothing. This is my choice and I need you to respect it."
"Y-yeah of course Chi," Goku stammered. "…I understand."
"Good, "I'll see you for dinner later. We haven't eaten together since you left for Namek so I'll cook you something special." The ox princess smiled before leaning in for a quick kiss on her husband's cheek. "Now come on Yamcha stop stalling and let's move."
Turning on her heels the ox princess continued down the hall of the lookout without waiting for anyone to follow.
"Sheesh looks like I'll have my hands full for a while. This may be tougher than the hyperbolic chamber." Yamcha sighed before looking over to Vegeta. "By the way prince I still owe you for saving me when we fought Cooler. So, thanks I guess."
"Humph, as if I need anything you could give me."
"Don't be a jerk I'm actually trying here," Yamcha said suppressing the urge to flick the saiyan in the forehead. "Listen you seem to have an appetite for Earth food, but you still haven't tried our drink. I'll treat you to something good sometime alright?"
Feeling it was better to leave before the prince could respond Yamcha followed his new student to the Pendulum Room.
"These humans only live to get more ridiculous," Vegeta said shaking his head. "Come now Kakarot we're wasting time."
The prince took three steps in the direction he had been walking before being interrupted and realized he was walking alone.
"Kakarot what are you doing?"
Goku in fact had barely moved at all since he had talked with his wife, in fact, the only thing that had moved was his hand which was resting on the same cheek the ox princess had kissed moments ago.
"Kakarot!"
"Oh, what? Sorry, Vegeta I was, thinking."
"Well enough of that, we're training, aren't we?"
"Yeah sure, training," Goku said as he followed the prince, but not before he gave one last look at his wife as she turned the corner.
"Now that is quite the tale," Mutaito said as he leaned back as he rubbed his beard in contemplation.
Krillin watched as the old master did so revealing his accomplishment of telling the story of all of his adventures up to the present in just under an hour. King Kai had given the two their space and had returned to his car, taking the time to clean the vehicle after their long flight.
"It warms my heart to hear that Roshi has achieved the potential I always knew he held. Though I must admit guiding Goku, a student born on another world was even beyond what I had hoped for him. From the sounds of things, he is a wonderful master."
"He has his moments," Krillin smiled.
"I am certain he does. Now, you have sought me out and said your piece, yet I still am unclear as to what you require of me. From both your story and the ki energy I can sense you have far surpassed me long ago. What can I offer you?"
"Well, any advice really? I'm overwhelmed with everything and don't feel in control of anything. I thought I had a grasp on what I had to do to keep everyone safe but I failed. You were in this kind of position when you fought King Piccolo right? What do I do?"
Mutatio blinked twice before a small chuckle escaped him. That chuckle grew in length and power as it became a strong bellow of laughter. Krillin could only watch in confusion as the old master further lost himself to the point where tears started to come out of his eyes. Eventually, Mutaito calmed down and evened out his breathing with a hard cough before he spoke again.
"I have no idea."
"What?" Krillin said in disbelief.
"My battle against the demon king resulted in my death. The hardships you are experiencing are completely different from anything I have known. The scale of your battles and strifes are beyond anything I have known. The existence of a dragon who can grant wishes is more than I can believe let alone the responsibilities and battles you are facing."
"So, you can't help me?"
"I did not say that. I believe I can assist you in a small way," Mutaito smiled. "I can point out a few things you know but perhaps need a gentle reminder."
"A reminder?"
"From your story, it is clear that you already have received all the help you need."
"But I don't know what I'm doing," Krillin said holding a hand against his forehead. "I was so careful about getting everything right so worried I'd make a mistake up somehow and it still fell apart. Where do I go from here? What am I supposed to do."
"A valid question, but let me ask one of my own. What do you want to do?"
"I…I want to protect my friends from harm. Keep them safe."
"Good to hear an answer," Mutaito smiled. "Yet that has been clear from your story, another question then. How long do you intend to protect your friends?"
"How long? As long as I can."
"For as long as you can? What does that mean?"
"As long as I can fight I will."
"And when the day comes when you can no longer, what becomes of the protection you offered? What happens to your friends and family then? Will you fight forever? I was not aware you are immortal."
"…I'm not immortal but I want to keep them safe from everything that threatens them."
"So you will fight for as long as you can against everything that threatens them," Mutaito said staring deep into Krillin's eyes. "You have no idea how often they will be threatened but you'll be there to fight it. Your protection will last until it can't. That is truly what you want?"
"I…I thought it was. I'm not as sure now."
"Of course not," Mutaito said with a smile. "You've become much more selfish."
"Selfish?"
"Am I wrong? The answer to most of your problems seemed to be right in front of you. Yet you rejected it and found yourself here only due to your inability to give up what you felt is most important. The time you spent with those you care about. However, that is not something you should feel ashamed of."
"It's not?"
"Of course not, your desire to remember, your aversion to forget. It is a very human thing."
"Human," Krillin scoffed. "Half of me would disagree with you."
"Would he now?" Mutaito said with a raised eyebrow. "Why is that?"
"Ever since I started training on the lookout I've been changing. I don't eat anymore or sleep anymore, I'm closer to a namekian than a human at this point."
"You believe your diet and sleep schedule make you human?" Mutaito asked with a raised eyebrow. "I died long ago and do not require food or sleep either, do you believe I am no longer human?"
"N-no?"
"Wrong answer, as it does not matter what you believe the only one who can determine what I am, is myself."
"That's my problem," Krillin said with a sigh. "Hard to argue with the half of me that's stronger."
"You think you're the first one to disagree with yourself? No, you are not special in this regard. You are in a unique position for certain, but everyone struggles internally and doubts themselves at some point in their life. You are what you choose to be, no one else can take that power away from you. I'd like to return to what you just said as well," Mutaito continued. "Why did you call your other half stronger?"
"Why? Well, he trained in the hyperbolic time chamber all that time."
"So it's due to him training more than you. He's become stronger and faster than you are currently which makes him stronger. I see, there was a time when I would have agreed with you. When King Piccolo defeated me, I secluded myself and focused only on my training. My students, including Roshi, tried to follow me but I refused them. Through that brutal hardship, I was able to develop the evil containment wave which sealed away the demon. In your definition of strength, I had in grown stronger but it cost me something precious, do you have a guess as to what that was?"
"Time," Krillin said surprised he knew the answer. "It cost you the time you had left."
"Correct," Mutaito said with a nod. "Perhaps in another life instead of refusing my students, we could have worked together to come up with a plan to stop the demon king together. Instead, I threw that connection aside in the pursuit of what I considered a strength."
"Yes, but you saved the world doing that!"
"Do you truly believe that the planet you are killing yourself to protect has been saved? If it was, would you have to continue to fight? Continue to protect your friends from threats you cannot predict or prepare for. I protected the world from the evil of the demon king, but I did not save it."
"…what would you consider saving the world to be?"
"That is not for me to say. My time on Earth has passed and I have no right in guiding its future. Yet as it's guardian you are in a position where you could go beyond just protecting it and your friends. If you wanted to save the world with the same passion you hold for protecting your friends, Perhaps you could do it."
"…but I don't want to," Krillin said almost ashamed. "I thought being the Guardian would help me grow stronger but when the time came to step up, I ran."
"Of course, you did, as I said before you've become selfish."
"What do you mean by that?"
"You told me you were abandoned at a temple yes? Bullied for years until you left? You've been deprived of a fundamental part of life while growing up that having only a year to experience it has left you wanting more. I imagine it's the same reason you were willing to give up the dragonballs to Frieza just to save Gohan back on this Namek planet you told me about. Why you were willing to make your promise to Goku and why with even the promise of unbelievable power within your grasp you felt like you had to turn away because you believe it would."
"Wha…what is it?"
"Come now Krillin," Mutaito smiled. "It's love. Love for your friends, for your newly found family, for your life that you must feel is crumbling around you."
"Love," Krillin said repeating the word slowly.
"Nothing to be afraid of, it's just a word," Mutaito continued. "And I believe that feeling is far more important than the ability to eat or sleep. Despite dying long ago, I consider myself human as I still hold love within me. You love Krillin, and you can decide if that's a good enough reason to still call yourself human."
Feeling a warmth bubble up inside both his hearts, the young monk couldn't stop a smile from filling his face. So that's what this is.
"However," Mutaito said slapping his knee and regaining Krillin's attention. "That is not the only thing you need to decide today, is it? The position of Guardian, you accepted it, trained for it, yet refused it. Is that the end of you as guardian?"
"No, it can't be," Krillin said wearily. "I'm the only one who can create the dragonballs so I will have to do it eventually, even if I'm realizing I don't want to."
"Is that because you feel the position is not suited for you?"
"Honestly I don't think it's suited for anyone," Krillin said with a scoff. "Not sure how Kami can deal with it. There's just so much weight to everything, it's exhausting. I thought by splitting myself in half I could deal with it but instead it just made more problems."
"Well of course you made more problems. It sounds like you have an issue with your solution and forgive me if I'm mistaken but I'd guess it's because you are thinking of the position of guardian in the wrong way. It's not that you don't want to become Guardian. You don't want to be Kami."
"I don't want to be Kami?"
"You said that you have been careful to get everything right to avoid making mistakes that instead you made someone else's. You've split yourself apart so you could gain the power of the guardian just as Kami did, so tell me, how is that working out for him?"
"…not well," Krillin said reflecting on the hatred Piccolo still has for his other self.
"You've been so focused on being flawless that you haven't given yourself any time to breathe and think. Slow down, Krillin, and think about what you want and what you can do. Then do it. Your future is what you make of it, so stop making it complicated."
"…but I don't know what I want my future to be."
"Then let's take it step by step, shall we? Forget being a Guardian for a moment you said you wanted to protect your friends, let's say you have. You've defeated every challenge in front of you, you've stopped everyone and everything who would do harm to your friends, your family, and everyone who matters. You are victorious, so where are you and what are you doing?"
"I…I'm not sure."
"Focus Krillin, what do you want? To fight? Are you still fighting?"
"No…I'm not."
"Then are you training? Just for the joy of it? No battles to be fought here, just the pursuit of strength as a martial artist. Surely you want to grow stronger?"
"No, I'm not doing that either."
"Then what are you doing?"
"I'm with my family and friends…I want to be there for that. If…if there's no reason to fight, then I don't want to. I want a home where no one needs protection."
"Then that is what you must focus on. That picture you have in your head right now, whatever it is, is what you truly want. Do not dwell on the details and of possible mistakes, stop stalling and move forward."
"What if I move in the wrong direction? Everything feels so delicate as if everything I'm saying is being judged by everyone."
"That's because it is, yet you cannot let that slow you down. Belief is the death of doubt and as long as you keep moving forward with the goal of no longer fighting then you will one day reach it."
"And you don't have any advice on how I get there right?"
"As I said, I am merely here to point out what you already know."
Krillin paused as he thought deeply. "The people of Earth, I tried my best to keep the fighting away from them, but it hasn't worked. Regular people still died, and I think it's just going to get worse before it gets better. I believe bringing the people of East City back was the right thing, but it's created such hostility I'm unsure of how to deal with that."
"You changed their worldview and offered no explanation. Surely you knew hostility was a possibility."
"Yes, but I didn't think it would be this bad. I brought East City back to life isn't that a good thing?"
"In a simple world yes, but let me ask you a question as someone who has experienced it, what do you gain from loss?"
"What do you gain?" Krillin said looking downcast as he recalls Chiaotzu and his final moments. "Grief."
"Yes, but beyond just the pain there is an understanding. As humans, we will experience loss at some point in our lives both big and small, that creates an awareness of the loss others go through as well as an ability to love the people you still have more deeply. By restoring East City, you have taken away that period of understanding and replaced it with confusion. Thus, creating hostility without an end."
"Then what should I have done?"
"It is not what you did Krillin, it's what you can do that you must question. If you want a world without fighting then you must do something to create that world."
"You want me to come forward as the King does," Krillin said with a scowl. "I can't do that without exposing the others."
"Truly? Then I believe you are forgetting something you are quite capable of if the stories you told me are true," Mutaito said with a laugh. "You do have a way with words do you not?"
"You think I should lie? To the people of Earth?"
"It doesn't matter what I think, what do you?"
"I think they are lost. The way they turned on East City, it's hard to hear."
"Just because someone stumbles and loses their way, doesn't mean they are lost forever. Sometimes we all need a little help, you should know that better than anyone."
"Am I the person to help them though? There are so many of them, so many voices. If I lie and it backfires, then that will just make everything worse."
"Even if your words are untrue a better path can be achieved as long as long as it is presented with understanding, with love. Give them the comfort of hope."
Krillin paused again, his mind racing with everything he was being told.
"The people, they aren't ready to hear the truth. About the dragonballs, how close the Earth has come to being destroyed, who we are and what we can do, I think it would be too much," Krillin said slowly looking at his hand. "Yet, I don't think they will ever be ready. Even if it's a lie saying something would be better than nothing, right?"
"If that is you as the Guardian decide then it shall be."
"Heh, wonder if my other half would agree. He's so focused on fighting he's not even acting like me anymore."
"Then you can remind him just as I have," Mutaito said softly. "You have everything you need Krillin you just need to take the first step towards the future you want."
"Thank you, Master Mutaito, I wish I could repay you somehow."
"Bah, do not thank me I fear I have given you more problems than solutions," Mutaito said with a smile. However, if you insist, the next time you see Roshi please tell him he has raised a fine student and I am proud of who he has become."
"I will."
"Ah, home sweet home," King Kai said closing the car door behind him. "Always nice to take the girl out for a spin."
"Thank you for including me," Krillin said closing his side of the car. "It was, very helpful."
"Good, now you get back to work and start cleaning the baby," King Kai said patting the hood of his pride and joy. "Can't have her looking anything but perfect and I think that little trip got her a little dusty."
"Have fun," Krillin laughed as the Kai fussed over his car for the second time today.
The young monk walked away and found a nice clearing of grass on the other side of the small planet and sat down right in front of where he had left his dragonball.
Closing his eyes Krillin drew into himself. Soon his surroundings melted away and the monk cast himself into a warm bright blue. Within his meditation Krillin found himself sitting on the tiny island with the tide's rolling matching his breathing. Normally he would venture into the water in search of the dragon within him to try and open communication. However, this time he waited. Without rushing himself Krillin breathed through his mouth with a measured inhale and exhale. He sat there measuring himself and focusing on his next steps. He was halfway through a possible plan of action when a sound shook his tiny patch of land.
Thump
Beneath the surface coiled around the island, was the outline of a massive creature. Despite the clear blue of the water surrounding them, this creature was clothed in darkness. Whisps of energy seemed to roll off the body as if it were melting yet the body remained seemed sturdy, but not defined. With the only constant being two red eyes staring out at him.
"There you are," Krillin said, his eyes slowly opening. "I've been looking for you."
If the beast heard him, it made no acknowledgment yet its stare remained.
Same eyes as Porunga and Shenron, The monk thought looking carefully. Must be a trait that the dragons share. "Tsuno mentioned that each dragonball had to be made individually before the dragon can be summoned," Krillin said to the beast underneath the waves. "Which means that I have to create six more before you'll be ready to grant a wish."
The only thing separating the monk and the creature was the surface of the water as the two red eyes curiously stared on.
"So you aren't ready yet, you're still waiting for that, aren't you? I've been asking for your help but I'm guessing you don't know how to help. You only know one thing don't you?"
Protect
The word rippled through the blue water disturbing the calm motions of the tide.
"You learned that word because you've been watching me, haven't you?" The monk said slowly. "Dragons can only be as strong as their creator and Tsuno said that my actions would shape you. I was looking for your help but that's not what you need is it?"
Standing from his meditation stance Krillin walked to the edge of his small island and kneeled into the water his eyes intensity matching the dragons.
"You need a teacher. Just like the others do."
He placed a hand on the surface that divided them. He rested his hand there unwilling to drive it deeper the monk's touch sent a small ripple through the water.
"I need you strong. So, watch carefully."
15 Months Later
A yawn broke out of Yajirobi as he continued to fly across the blue sky. Rubbing the sleep out of his eyes did little for the samurai as the boredom of the patrol hung over his head. Below him, the wide ocean stretched out giving him the view of nothing more than endless water. A quick buzz in his ear had Yajirobi pressing a finger against the communicator and answering with another yawn.
"Hey, you got robi whose this?"
"What? What do you mean by 'whose this?' It's Bulma who else would it be?"
"I dunno that's why I asked."
"Oh for the love of, fine whatever. I'm checking in have you seen anything?"
"Lots of water."
"Anything else?"
"I'm flying across the ocean what else would there be?"
"Anything that might indicate Gero's whereabouts. We've searched the planet extensively and the ocean is one of the last places we haven't looked."
"Couldn't send me to a city or a nearby town?"
"No, I'd just catch you eating a buffet out of business, again," Bulma said with a sigh. "Now look I'll be focusing on finishing the repairs for Trunks's time machine today, so this is the last time I'll be checking in on you."
"Hooray."
"Shut it, now I'm calling to remind you to keep your eyes open for Gero but also because I need you to do some field testing with your new sword okay? This prototype should go better than the last one."
"Field test? What am I supposed to test it on? There's nothing out here!"
"You'll figure it out, just let me know how it goes. The weight should be better and I touched up the grip as well as the sheath's ki capacity."
"Did you change the key phrase for it?"
"No," Bulma said before ending the call with a heavy click.
"Great, why she'd even tell me to go here if she wanted me to test this thing out?" Yajirobi asked no one as he looked at the sheathed sword tied around his waist. Most of it was painted white save the small black capsule corp logo that lay printed towards the top. He voiced his displeasure at the colors and was quickly told that if he didn't like it he was free to make his own sword. He had been at the mercy of the blue scientist's whims ever since.
Least the handle is the same. Yajirobi thought to himself as he gripped the black cord wrap with the gold skin peeking through the hole of the binding.
The samurai was so distracted by looking over the newest version of his sword he almost missed the island in the distance. Only thanks to the seagull's cry did he turn in its direction.
Hmmm, probably could cut a few trees down or something there. Yajirobi thought as he redirected his flight path toward the island. There he got an overhead view of the location easily able to spot a naturally formed beach, a thriving forest, and the immense volcano located in the center. Dropping out of the sky onto the beach Yajirobi waded through the sand and found a large palm tree overseeing the gentle tide.
"You'll do," Yajirobi said digging his feet deeper into the sand and taking a stance that placed his hand just over his blade's handle. Absorbing the moment, the wide warrior matched his breathing with the tide.
In. Yajirobi thought as he inhaled and shut himself off to his surroundings. Reflecting only on the tension in his hand as he prepared for a quick draw. And out.
"Capsule Corp Limiter Release," Yajirobi said aloud his eyes not leaving the tree.
Voice recognized. A robotic voice sounded out from his communicator just as it had with every previous prototype test. Key Phrase required.
Yajirobi grumbled and sighed before he spoke again. "Key Phrase: St-"
The ki bomb landed before he could finish. With only a sudden change of color reflected off the tide as a warning, Yajirobi lept away as far as he could. He escaped the worst of it but was still caught in the blast that was fired from above him. The dense energy licked his clothes and skin searing both with a sizzle. Sand and water were expelled up and out showering the beach and samurai battering his burns and body. He landed back onto his feet skidding backward a bit from his sudden leap and his hand now fully rested on his sword's handle.
"Looks like bacon belly is quicker than he looks."
Descending from the sky Yajirobi got a good look at his attacker. A very short and small man with what seemed like purple skin donning a large green hat with a red ball on top touched down onto the sand. With baggy light blue pants, black boots, a black and white tuxedo shirt with a dark yellow and blue overcoat the clash of colors this stranger was wearing nearly blinded Yajirobi. Yet the samurai was still able to spot a red bow tie sporting the two-white capital Rs on each side.
"And who are you supposed to be?"
"They call me Android 15," The android said with a tilt of his chin. "Got orders from the top saying to take you out."
"Guessing the top is Gero huh? If he thinks a robot with a bad fashion sense is going to kill me, he's got another thing coming," Yajirobi said as pressed a finger against his communicator. "Hey, got one of those androidthings here in front of me, are they supposed to be purple?"
Expecting to hear Bulma's voice come through the samurai wasn't prepared for a sharp shrill feedback noise to cut through his ears.
"Ugh!" Yajirobi grunted in pain while releasing his push on the communicator.
"Sorry tubs you're not getting any help from that thing long as I'm around. Came installed with a jammer so no outside calls. It's just you and me."
"Fun."
A grin flashed across the android's face before he dashed forward. His feet blurred together cutting a straight line through the sand as he closed in on Yajirobi with a fist raised. Fully expecting the attack let the samurai watch its path and maneuver his body so the strike flew over his shoulder. Taking a deep step in with his thumb pushing up against his sword's guard the samurai inhaled and prepared to draw.
"Not so fast."
The same shimmer of energy he caught sight of in the water radiated energy to his side before it was fired point-blank against his body. Water, sand, and a dark cloud of dust exploded out on the edge of the beach. Pushed back through the dust cloud and barely finding his feet in time Yajirobi's groaned through clenched teeth and prepared himself as 15 followed up with another attack.
Quick little thing. Can't sense its movements either. The samurai thought to himself as he continued to back up trying his best to avoid the punches and kicks of a small purple robot. Ki barrier took a heavy hit. Another blast that close and it might break apart.
Taking another leap back Yajirobi's feet sunk deeper into the sand as the two made their way further along the beach. Hmmm, might be deep enough. Should I try it now?
Barely dodging a snap kick to the head answered the samurai's question. Taking two more steps back to center himself and lifted his foot above his head. Bringing it down hard onto the sand kicked up a pillar of the granular material.
"Trying to run?" 15 asked as the sand momentarily obscured its vision. "No chance in that though. The good doctor made sure we can track your energy from anywhere."
"I'm not running," Yajirobi said with confidence as he repositioned himself, so the ocean and the android were right in front of him. "Just didn't want to cut the island in half."
"Alright then, show me what you got," Android 15 said throwing both hands into the air and quickly gathering enough energy for a bomb even larger than the one before it.
"Capsule Corp Limiter Release," Yajirobi said diving deep into a sword stance.
Voice recognized. Key Phrase required.
Throwing the bomb at the stationary human 15's energy blast cut a deep trench through the island as it enveloped Yajirobi's view of the sea. Yet the samurai did not pay attention to it, instead, he waited, listened, and measured his breathing just as he had been taught to do.
In, and out.
"Key Phrase:" Yajirobi said as his thumb pressed up against his katana's guard ready to push it out of the sheath. "Stop asking me about the sword."
15 couldn't stop his grin from growing as his blast descended onto the wide warrior. It had been fun completing his first mission in just a few minutes. Perhaps the doctor would send him out again soon. That possibility died when a thin line of ki split his bomb in two. Blinking once behind his sunglasses 15 had left then a second before that line shot forward towards him.
Dodging left the line severed the tip of his right foot. Sparks flew out as the top of his boot and toes inside separated from the rest of his limb and dropped into the sand with a heavy thud. Looking behind him the android followed the line of ki as it slashed across the sea parting it in twain. Even once he lost sight of the blade wave the ocean seemed to stay split before it crashed into itself. A rumble surrounded the island. As the sea mended itself the tide was suddenly in chaos as the beach was eaten up by the influx of water.
Android 15 hadn't noticed that as his attention returned to the human in front of him. Holding his katana with one hand Yajirobi exhaled as his ki continued to coat the blade. The point and sharpness of his ki's edge were much more refined than it had been during previous battles and Yajirobi was calmly able to disperse it and return his sword to its sheath in one breath, his eyes fixated on the android.
"…okay." 15 reached into his overcoat and pulled out a flask while screwing off the top. Throwing back the bottle the small purple android took a single swig before wiping his mouth clean and returning the flask into the pocket. "Let's dance."
