Chapter 1621
Now And Forever
There were two Grays in the wrecked underground complex. One of them wanted to get out of there as soon as possible because it looked like the remaining area would collapse around them.
The first man wasn't as apprehensive as the second man was. He wanted to see more. They moved down the passageway to a 'T' intersection.
CamNet's Terminator wanted them to go around one of the corners so he could move up into the room with the computers.
The first man shined the light down the passageway to the right. He turned and shined it down the passageway to the left.
"I think we can try the right side to start." The first man said. "It looks more promising."
The second man didn't think either side looked promising. He wanted to go back, get the hard drives, and leave. He really wanted to put the place behind them and get away from there.
"I think we need to hurry." The second man said. "The sooner we can get out of this place the better. Everyone is gone."
The first man felt a little more confident since the passageways weren't cracked and splintered as they were earlier.
"Things look like they're in better condition here." The first man said.
The second man wasn't sold. He didn't think 'better' mattered much in the complex which was wrecked and showed signs of multiple collapses.
"So far we haven't seen anyone else." The second man said. "There's no one here for a good reason. This place is unsafe and we don't know what's going to go wrong in here next. As far as we know, there's some 'Doomsday Device' hooked up."
The first man became a little more concerned when he heard mention of a Doomsday Device. Those didn't tend to do well in a terminal situation. There was no need to over think it. They already passed through quite a bit of destruction.
"I'm sure if there was one, it would have gone off by now." The first man said.
The second man didn't see the point of arguing. What good was it going to do? He used his knife to mark the wall as to the direction they came from and were going. He sure hoped he wouldn't have to find it in the dark once their lights went out. It was his biggest fear, well, next to everything collapsing on top of them.
The two men started down the right side branch.
"I completely lost track of our direction." The second man said. "I don't know which way of the compass we're even going anymore."
The first man was glad the second man marked the corners.
"We know how to find our way back." The first man said. "We're bound to find something else."
It was exactly what the second man feared. He was sure it wouldn't be anything good. It would most likely be their final resting place.
CamNet's Terminator moved out of the doorway he was in once the two men went around the corner. He would need to keep an ear out for them in case they came back. He was sure they would probably go down the left branch of the passageway rather than return back to the room with the computer equipment in it.
He quickly made his way into the room with the electronic gear. It seemed to him the electrical noise picked up some from earlier. It could be because he just entered the room as well. Maybe he was actually being monitored. He wondered if the computer was still in communication with anything else.
The Terminator located the computer. He searched to see what it was connected to for a power source. He thought at first it might be connected to some type of power cell. It could be anything from a power cell for HK equipment to a Terminator. There were a series of electrical cables behind it. The majority of those appear to be standard electrical hookups. There was one cable which ran into a separate conduit. It meant the power source was located elsewhere.
He checked to make sure he wasn't being scanned. It was possible there was some version of Skynet connected to it. He didn't locate any sensors or camera equipment. He looked around the room in back of him. Everything was in darkness. He used several different vision spectrums to be able to locate something. He was unable to locate anything.
If he disconnected the power cable, it might alert whatever it was hooked to of the change. He decided to leave everything for now. He heard the mention of a 'Doomsday Device'. He didn't want to trigger it himself, or through his actions.
CamNet's Terminator moved back into the hall to follow the two men down the right branch of the junction.
Cameron felt Anna was a little too preoccupied. She didn't want Anna to run the boat into the rocks.
"Pay attention to what you're doing." Cameron said.
Anna made a quick adjustment and headed for the center of the lake. She was still a little worried about what Young Allison and Savannah were up to. She understood it was the 'Natural Order'. It still bothered her.
CamNet offered to take control of the boat again remotely.
Anna was a little upset with the request.
"I've got it." Anna said.
Cameron made a visual scan around them. There were other boats out on the lake. She looked at her phone with drone images of everything in detail from above. Nothing appeared to be a threat to them.
"I want you to spend a moment and look at everything around us." Cameron said. "Savannah has explained to me the beauty of everything we can see."
Anna already learned the same thing from Young Allison on their flight in.
"Being a part of it adds to the beauty." Anna said.
Cameron and Anna remained alert on the bridge as they headed towards the center of the lake.
They both knew the true 'beauty', both of them, were in the Master Suite.
Young Allison and Savannah slowly headed for the bed….
The two girls were ready to take everything a little further.
Young Allison was as apprehensive as she was excited. She knew everything which was about to happen, even if she never actually did it herself. She watched others, as well as viewed images and videos.
Savannah wanted Young Allison to relax some. She wanted her to be herself. She didn't want Young Allison to get in a big hurry. She moved her lips to Young Allison's ear.
"Just relax." Savannah whispered. "We can kiss and touch for a while first. There's no need to hurry anything. We have the whole rest of our lives to do this. We have the whole rest of our lives to share with each other."
Young Allison almost teared up with Savannah's words. It indicated the long term nature of their relationship and the next step they were about to take. She moved her lips to Savannah's ear.
"Take me." Young Allison whispered. "I'm yours, for now and forever."
Savannah paused for a moment. She looked into Young Allison's eyes and gave her a slow deep kiss as she did. Even though she was in the same situation thousands of times with other females, this time was different. She wanted everything to be beautiful for Young Allison.
"I'm going to share with you first." Savannah whispered.
She could feel Young Allison's heart pounding. She knew her excitement level was as high as hers was.

"Let's move the P-38 inside." Young Allison said. "The wind is starting to pick up a little."
Cameron reached down and pulled her skirt down. She understood Young Allison didn't want her to mention things about the future. It was something which sort of slipped out. She turned her attention to Speedy as they moved the P-38 towards the hangar.
"Have you ever flown a Thunderbolt before?" Cameron asked.
Speedy nodded.
"I was able to fly a Razorback one time." Speedy said. "It didn't have the big paddle bladed prop like the later bubble canopy versions did. Under VFR rules, I don't think there was any difference in the performance between it and the later versions as far as speed went. It's a big and heavy plane. I'm sure it would have been great for strafing with eight 'fifties'. They all carried a good quantity of ammunition too. I think the radial engine was a little more forgiving to ground fire and flak than the inline engines, which were liquid cooled, were."
It was something Eddie never could figure out.
"It seems to me it would have made more sense to use the P-47 in Korea instead of the P-51, once it was regulated to the ground attack role." Eddie said. "The Navy and the Marines didn't have any trouble because they used the Corsair and the Skyraider for most of their ground attack work. I'm willing to bet we lost more than a few pilots than we needed to by using a high altitude fighter for ground attack."
Cameron possessed an AD-1E Skyraider in her inventory of Resistance aircraft. It was the version with the enlarged cockpit. It was modified to dual control with seating for four behind the pilots. All of the electrical gear which took up the extra space was removed. The plane was still armed with four 20MM cannons, and all of its hard points. What she didn't have was a Corsair. She would like to have an F4U-5. There were several of them on the Warbird market. The trouble was, no one was ready to sell yet. She didn't want to resort to any 'Terminator means' to make it happen. She could be very persuasive when she needed to be. She knew Savannah would be very displeased with her if she was.
The P-38 was moved inside of the hangar. Speedy and Eddie went about making sure everything was secured before they would close up the hangar.
Young Allison went with Eddie as he attended to the P-40 and the P-51. Cameron remained with Speedy as he attended to the P-38. They both went over everything they did, as they did it. Other than the two new aircraft, it was all the things the girls already knew to do.
The wind picked up a little more. Speedy went over to close the hangar door. Cameron went to the door on the other side of the opening. She released it from its catch and pushed it closed. She noticed there was a lot of resistance to it.
Speedy was a little surprised to see 'Cindy' already closed the other side.
"I can't believe you just closed the door by yourself." Speedy said. "I was going to have Eddie help me with it. It always hangs up a little bit."
Cameron smiled.
"It wasn't too tough." Cameron said. "It needs some adjustment on the rollers. A healthy dose of oil wouldn't hurt anything either. I can fix it real quick. Can I use your tools?"
Speedy wasn't sure what to say.
"There are tools in the rollaway cart by the tug." Speedy said. "You don't need to do it for us."
Cameron wanted to do it. She could teach Young Allison as well. There were a lot of things in a Skynet future which needed to be fixed.
"I want to show Emily what needs to be done." Cameron said.
Young Allison hurried over.
"Why don't you take a quick look at the tug before we start on the hangar door?" Young Allison whispered.
Cameron thought it was a good idea. They wouldn't be able to be there later on if they needed to move the aircraft around again. She made other plans for tomorrow. She looked over the power plant on the tug. She did a quick scan of all the wiring. She pulled off the coil wire and looked at it.
Speedy was next to the two girls as they looked over the tug.
Eddie was there now as well.
"I think this is your problem here." Cameron said. "I'm going to cut off the end of the wire and give it a clean connection. I'm going to actually do both ends."
Cameron acted quickly. When she finished, she slid the boots down. She reattached the coil wire. She made sure the tug was in neutral and turned the key. It instantly fired up.
Speedy and Eddie looked at each other for a moment.
"You sure made it look easy." Eddie said. "Thank you. I hope it solves our troubles."
Young Allison looked over the old tug. She knew it was about twenty years old.
"I think it might be better if you replace all the wires." Young Allison said. "The plug wires don't look in much better shape. Probably a new distributor cap, rotor, and points wouldn't hurt either."
Cameron was a little dissatisfied with the way the tug sounded.
"Emily's right." Cameron said. "I'm going to 'time' it and adjust the carburetor real quick."
Before any of them could say anything, Cameron loosened the bolt on the distributor and reset the timing slightly. She made a quick adjustment to the carburetor while she was at it.
Eddie was as astounded as Speedy was.
"I was just about to say let me go get the timing light." Eddie said. "You already smoothed everything out before I could almost finish thinking about it."
Cameron smiled and shrugged her shoulders. She took some tools and headed over to the hangar door and made a few adjustments. When Eddie and Speedy went to look for the oil, she lifted the hangar door up slightly to make a better adjustment.
Young Allison looked around to make sure they didn't see what she did.
Speedy returned with some oil.
"You seem to be incredibly mechanically inclined." Speedy said.
Cameron glanced quickly at Young Allison.
"I have a way with machines." Cameron said. "Whenever I see one, I like to make sure it's in as good of operating order as possible. People take machines for granted sometimes. All machinery needs some type of maintenance. All machinery is subject to wear from usage. Sometimes people don't think about it, or forget."
Young Allison thorough some people didn't care, as long as they got what they wanted.
Speedy wanted to stay longer and talk with the two girls. There were other things he needed to take care of.
Cameron wanted to know more about Speedy and Eddie. She would need to return to Mojave at some point so she could converse with them further.
"Where are you parked at?" Speedy ask.
Young Allison told him they were parked in the front of the hangar between the one they were in and the one next to it.
Speedy and Eddie showed the girls out of the hangar.
Cameron and Young Allison headed for the Galaxie.
Now And Forever
There has been more than one
Who thought they were smart or clever
They're usually out for themselves
Their true stripes aren't hard to discover
One finds out soon enough
When they're regulated to being a leftover
It hurts even more to watch
As the other seeks out a new endeavor
It's not always easy
To step back and recover
It will never actually happen
Until all ties one will sever
There's always some more
One can muster and deliver
When something is stuck or jammed
Find a larger or longer lever
It's been stated more than once
To never say never
Some things are always in flux
Between now and forever
Nobody
