As the two candidates faced each other, Nidoking raised his hand up and pointed to the sky, at first everyone thought he was making his first move, but one of the people from the audience, a servant of Nidoking's, stepped down from the stands and went to Nidoking to give him something.
It was a large warhammer, with purple engravings, seeming to glow with a subtle purple aura around it.
"Nice hammer you got there, I got one just like it when I work" Electivire snarked.
"Hmph! As if you have a hammer as nice looking at this. Piss off and go back to working. You'll be serving under me soon" Nidoking said as the servant began equipping him with what seemed like armor, protecting him from most damage, before the servant finally placed the final touches with what seemed to be a gem on the chest of the armor.
"Heh, as expected of a rich asshole like you. You can't even have a decent conversation nowadays. Which is why I'll make you work your ass off when I become king, literally and figuratively. You got a family right? What makes you think this is what they want from you hm? Just go back to your family and be satisfied with your life, you have everything already" Electivire said as he tipped his construction helmet.
Suddenly the construction workers that he was working with came down and brought out the whole arsenal of his already, all electrical equipment, including a jackhammer and a two handed hammer made just for breaking down walls.
Electivire took one of the tools, the two handed hammer, and electrified the tip with his electricity.
"Why don't we see who wins out eh?" Electivire said as he began running at Nidoking.
"Fool, you're more reckless than I thought. No matter, this will be an easy win for me!" Nidoking said as he charged right at him as well.
"Kukukukuku! It's already started! Let's see how these two fare well against each other!" Hypno said as he commented.
As the two swung their hammers at each other, a very loud and impactful hit was heard through the arena.
The two had met each other's hammers, with the two equally matched in strength.
"Funny of you to wear armor, scared that I'm going to shatter it?" Electivire taunted Nidoking.
"Go ahead, see if you can even make a dent on it" Nidoking said as he wound up his swing again.
With how predictable his swing was, Electivire was able to duck underneath Nidoking's attack and proceeded to aim at the large gem on Nidoking's chest.
With the electrified hammer hitting the gem, he thought it was a weak spot, and meant to shatter it somehow… But instead of destroying the armor like his mind thought, it absorbed all the electricity he had imbued the hammer in, and delivered a shockwave of electricity right back at him, stunning Electivire for the moment.
"Ngh…!" Electivire could already see Nidoking swinging his hammer, but him being paralyzed by the sudden shockwave and being surprised at the counterattack made him unable to react in time as the hammer made contact with his chin, sending him flying right up the air by the underhead swing.
"Heh, you fucking fell for it, you ill trained worker!" Nidoking remarked as he watched him fall back down from the air, before swinging at him again like he was a baseball, sending him rolling around on the ground before stopping.
"Kukukuku! Looks like Electivire didn't think it through that Nidoking wanted him to hit him in his armor!" Hypno laughed.
"Ngh… If that's the case…" Electivire grabbed two power drills, ready to keep going, though he felt a bit weakened… Did that have to do with his own attack backfiring against him? No… It must have been Nidoking's hammer.
"Heh, you wondering why you feel so sluggish huh? Well, this hammer has been dipped into a poison of my making. You see, not only is my hammer known to weaken others, but you see this gem on my armor? It absorbs any special attacks, so you name it, fire, water, electricity, even dragon fire gets absorbed. And my armor is just that special, you see, this is made of pure titanium. Had the best blacksmith shape it into whatever I want, and had this nice little thing inside it. So you can kiss your victory goodbye, I'll be sure to make things rough, even if you surrender, so we might as well cut the bullshit and surrender to me. This is armor that money can buy, though maybe I'll take the king's armor when he eventually leaves, makes for a good new armor that I've heard about for a long fucking time" Nidoking said as he beat the gem on his chest lightly.
Electivire though, did not look ready to give up.
"Oh yeah? But how much can that gem take?" Electivire asked as he used electric terrain, electrifying the arena's floor.
"Hmph… Let me guess? Some type of mud sport move? Please, the gem can withstand a lot of punishment. Besides, hitting me with your electric attacks will just strengthen me even more" Nidoking said, smirking as he grabbed the hammer that Electivire dropped and bending it to the point that it was useless.
Electivire fired up the two electric drills with more electricity in response.
"Then let's see if that tin can take it!" Electivire said as he charged with the drills head on.
"Come on then! Come to daddy! Cause that's all you'll be calling me when you lose!" Nidoking yelled, puffing his chest forward, which was where the gem was in.
Electivire went straight for it, trying to penetrate the armor instead of the gem. But as he struck the armor and tried to drill into it, the electric currents went straight towards the gem, and withstood the energy as it got absorbed.
"Ngh…!" Electivire felt his arm get grabbed like a vice with Nidoking's armored hand.
"You really went for it like such a dumb animal. Take this!" Nidoking said, preventing Electivire from pulling away and making him drop the other drill before kneeing him in his gut, making Electivire keel over.
Electivire charged himself up as he dodged the swing of the hammer again and went straight directly to try and use the remaining drill with both hands, determined to destroy the gem on his chest.
"Hahahaha! You really believe that you can destroy my gem with your worthless tools?" Nidoking said, letting him attack for 5 seconds, overconfident as he delivered an uppercut on him, before grabbing the drill that Electivire dropped and using it on him.
"Gahhhhhgggghhhh!" Electivire screamed as he felt the drill damage his chest, gritting his teeth as he endured the pain, before getting on his knees when Nidoking finally stopped.
"Nidoking! Nidoking! Nidoking! Nidoking! Nidoking!" The whole arena chanted the rich noble's name as he was absolutely winning right now with no scratch on him in the least.
Nidoking showed off, holding his arms out as everyone began cheering for Nidoking and Electivire, wanting more of a fight from both of them.
"Don't you see? You can't even damage me with your pitiful attacks! You think just because you're bigger than me that you had this match in the bag already, haven't you? How predictable" Nidoking said as he turned towards Electivire.
Electivire clenched his fist and got up again, while everyone else who were vouching for him were worried, it seemed like a hopeless endeavor.
It wasn't really helping that even just getting up felt like a hurdle… That poison really was sapping his strength.
"Kukukukuku! How stubborn! Though how much longer can this guy take?" Hypno said as he watched Electivire.
Electivire then began to use charge, doubling the power of his electric power, grabbing the jackhammer.
"I'll finish you this time for sure" Electivire said, powering up the jackhammer with as much electricity as he could.
"You never give up do you? You're doing the same thing over and over again, expecting things to change? Go ahead, I'll let you have a turn, and then I will end you with another hammer swing!" Nidoking goaded him, patting the hammer with his hand.
"You won't know until I try again!" Electivire said as he gave a small smirk as he charged.
"Heh, go ahead. My armor is impenetrable with this gem! You know that electricity conducts it so why keep going with this useless endeavor of yours?" Nidoking laughed.
Electivire began trying to attack him, using the jackhammer that would have felt like he was getting punched by a hundred punches in a few seconds if he hadn't been armored up.
"You're just scared to fight back, so I'll fight you as hard as I can while you foolishly let me take advantage of breaking this. Tell me, have you ever even used this gem before with any metal? Figured a dumbass like you wouldn't know a thing about how this works" Electivire smirked at him.
NIdoking was confused, what did he mean? His armor was expensive, and was crafted with the best materials that money could buy! So why would it break? Did he know something? No matter, it was time to end this match.
Electivire also started using his tails, delivering several thundershocks as if he was punching with them.
"I'm gonna finish you now! You've lost! No matter how hard you try, you won't get past my armor! The tallest mountain can bow down if you howl hard enough" Nidoking arrogantly said before he started swinging his hammer at him in retaliation, intending to finish him off.
However, Electivire endured, grabbing the electrified jackhammer with his teeth and started using his fists to deliver thunder punches in combination with everything else he was using to attack the armor.
"Kukukukuku! A battle of endurance! Though I doubt that armor is going to break! I'll give him ten seconds to last!" Hypno said as he watched them keep fighting.
It didn't look like Electivire can keep standing, but somehow he was enduring all the hammer swings.
"Boss! Boss! Boss! Boss! Boss! Boss! Boss! Boss!" The rest of the construction workers that Electivire worked with were cheering him on, believing in their boss as they kept chanting his name.
"Impressive, but we both know you're gonna lose. Your punches feel like you're carrying weights doesn't it? Your whole body feels heavy right? No matter, this will finish you off, right in that stupid head of yours!" Nidoking said as he raised his hammer up hgh for an overhead swing.
The construction workers gasped, surely an attack like that, with full power and the weight of the hammer would surely end the fight, or worse, kill Electivire.
As Nidoking was about to bring down the hammer on Electivire, he felt… Heat? Why was it hot? Not even fire was supposed to penetrate the armor right?
Nidoking looked down and… Why did his armor look brittle?
"Boss! His armor is weakening!" A musclegut Raichuworker pointed out.
The rest of the workers joined in.
"It's breaking! Boss! Keep chipping away!" A dedenne worker said as they all cheered for their boss.
"About damn time! Didn't think it was going to take this long!" Electivire said, redoubling his efforts with punching and holding onto the jack hammer with his teeth as parts of the titanium armor was being chipped away.
"What the hell!? This… My armor! It's breaking!? Why!?" Nidoking tried to swing the hammer down, but he felt the armor warping and heating up to the point that it became too brittle to be flexible… Before it all broke down.
The gem was still intact, but with no armor to hold it, it was useless, and fell to the ground as the armor broke.
"RAAUUUUUGGGGGHHHHHH!" Electivire screamed as he began delivering a rapid series of mach punches alongside keeping his grip on the jackhammer with his teeth.
"Kukukuku! The armor is destroyed! Goes to show no matter how rich you are, you can never be invincible… Kukukukukukuku!" Hypno snarked.
Nidoking tried to fend for himself, but Electivire was no longer giving him a chance to fight back as the punches were too hard and too fast for him to do anything about it.
"BOSS! BOSS! BOSS! BOSS! BOSS! BOSS!" The rest of the arena chanted as well, completely siding with Electivire this time.
Nidoking felt absolutely humiliated by the tables being turned, he still had the type advantage though, so all he had to do was find an opening… But where was it?
With his upper body completely being attacked, he stomped on the ground to make a stone edge… But the stone was immediately shattered with the jackhammer Electivire he was using, the pummeling continuing as the repeated mach punches persisted.
"And it's time for the finisher boys!" Electivire said as he soon stopped punching.
"10! 9! 8! 7! 6! 5! 4! 3! 2!" The workers began chanting as they all waited for the finisher.
Nidoking's vision was going dark now, but he tried to hold on to consciousness, however his body was too beaten up, so he stood there, confused and struggling to move an inch.
"SUPERCELL SLAM!" The workers yelled, as Electivire endured the poison in his body, charging up his body, and jumping into the air for a supercharged full body slam.
Nidoking could only look as Electivire went body first towards him, feeling the full weight of the chief of construction on him as he got knocked out, a mini crater formed around him as he laid down on the ground.
"Kukukuku! Electivire has won! Despite the odds! Kukukukuku!" Hypno announced, making everyone cheer at the impressive feat.
Hypno walked over to Electivire, after he was treated with an antidote and treated from the poison and his injuries.
"How did you know you could destroy his armor Electivire? Surely you knew that it was somehow impossible, but you also somehow knew you could destroy it" Hypno asked him.
"Simple. For someone to call me uneducated was ironic. The point wasn't to destroy the gem at all, but to destroy the armor holding it. Yes it can absorb energy from attacks, but what happens when the energy constantly gets absorbed? Is it fast enough to absorb the electricity going through the armor? It isn't so much how much energy the gem could take, it's if the armor can hold on through it" Electivire said.
"But electricity is just conducted by metal yes? How does it work that electricity can make armor shatter?" Hypno asked him.
"That's because of induction heating. Electricity can also heat up metal, and if the electricity lasts long enough on the armor before it gets absorbed, then that just means that it would heat up eventually. The gem was a nuisance at first, but as soon as I've used electric terrain and charged up my jackhammer, that armor was not gonna withstand the amount of electricity and would have shattered sooner if that damn gem wasn't there. Heh, he really thought that armor and gem would save him. All armor has a weakness, no matter what. Speaking of which… I couldn't have done it without all my trusty workers at my behest" Electivire said as he smiled at the other workers.
"Kukukuku! And what of his family? Are you gonna take them as slaves too?" Hypno asked him.
"Nah, they can have their freedom… But I'm not gonna let him free. Nobody gets rich without doing something illegal. Plus, I'm going to make him forget about his wife and turn him into my own personal slave, and make him addicted to us. Not just me, I'll pass him around with the boys after I'm done with him" Electivire smirked.
"Speaking of that… It's… PUNISHMENT TIME!" Hypno yelled, as the crowd cheered on to give Nidoking the punishment.
Electivire approached Nidoking, smirking as the noble had just recovered, gritting his teeth as Electivire smugly walked to him.
