Chapter 2 Xana Awakens Part I

A.N. – The real story begins here. Unfortunately, the secrets won't begin till season 2 and Nadia will confront Tyron in Evolution which is far down the road but will be an interesting one.

Josh Xana – I know the feeling. I can relate on some levels. Sometimes life gets in the way and I either have to upload a day early or late. I try to remain consistent.

Jeremy sits in front of his computer at night. "Diary of Jeremy Belpois. Kadic Academy, eighth grade student, October 9th. A few nights ago, I was hunting for parts to finish building my miniature robots. I couldn't find anything around here I could use, so I decided to rummage for scrap in the abandoned factory not far from the academy." Jeremy opens the hatch, climbing a ladder. He crawls out, running across the bridge to the entrance. "I figured that I could find plenty of cool, old mechanical stuff left inside there that would be useful."

Jeremy looks at a rope, grabbing it. "And I wasn't disappointed, it was unbelievable!" Jeremy slides down the rope. "I stumbled into some sort of complex, with an entire computer lab with scanners, and especially this totally intense mainframe." Jeremy presses the button to the elevator. "For the moment, I haven't told anyone. It's my little secret. It's the coolest thing that's ever happened to me. And that night, even though I was scared stiff, I decided to start up the computer." The lever appears in front of Jeremy, and he grabs it.

"I hope I'm not gonna regret this in a minute," he says to himself. "Okay, go!" He pulls the lever and the computer glows brightly, making him scream. He backs away to the elevator, adjusting his glasses. He rubs his chin slightly, deciding to go up to the computer lab. The doors open in front of him, and he gets into the chair, cracking his fingers. "Now, let's see what you've got under the hood, my friend." He starts up the computer and a pink-haired girl with elf ears, one earring on her left ear, and pink-eye make-up appears in front of him. She has her eyes closed. "Wow, what's all this?" The girl wakes up at his voice, looking surprised. "A video game?"

She looks around curiously before finally noticing him. "Who…who are you? W-Where am I?"

He gasps, his glasses falling from his face.

The bell rings at Kadic Academy. The students walk into Ms. Hertz's class. Jeremy sits up front, near a brown haired boy.

"Um, are you Ulrich Stern?" A blonde-haired boy dressed in purple, with a purple spot in the middle asks Ulrich.

"Um, that depends. Who wants to ask?" Ulrich asks him.

"Odd Della Robbia, his brand new roommate."

"What?" Ulrich turns to him in surprise.

"I'm new at the academy and the principal told me to move in with you" Odd tells him.

"Latch onto me sounds more like it."

"Relax, I'm totally cool. Trust me, you'll see. You won't even know I'm there."

"I sure hope so. Look, we don't exactly go way back, so just for now, let's take things nice and slow, okay?'

"Okay, nice and slow." Odd holds up his hands in defense.

A black-haired girl with a yellow headband and a pink outfit walks up to their table. "Hi there, Ulrich sweetheart. I've got something important to tell you" she says to Ulrich.

"Important like uh, 'I lost my mascara' or 'my pink t-shirt ran'."

"No, nothing as serious as that. I's something about you and me Ulrich. If you wanna know more, come by my dorm tonight at 8. I'm counting on you" the girl says. Odd watches in amusement, and she walks away. The boys nearby staring. Odd turns his chair around.

"Ulrich, sweetheart?" Odd places his hands behind his neck as he winks. "Who's the good looking babe?"

"Sissi, she's the principal's daughter. Boys flip over her, but she's only flipped over me." Ulrich explains, unamused.

"That's pretty cool."

"Cool? She's totally brain-dead and a leech as well."

"Well in that case, it's pretty lame."

Suddenly, a girl with auburn wavy hair that goes slightly below her shoulders walks in. She also has blue-gray eyes. She is also slightly taller than Ulrich, standing 5'3 tall. She is wearing a dark-blue jacket, gray short-sleeved t-shirt with a light-blue star, black jeans, and dark blue shoes. She sits down next to Jeremy.

"Wow, who's that?" Odd asks.

"Nadia, she's been going here since the 7th grade. Apparently, her only friend is Jeremy."

The bell rings, Odd opening the door as he's telling Ulrich a joke. "And the wiener says, 'I don't have frog legs, that's just the way I walk!" He laughs, but Ulrich doesn't. "You get it?"

"No, but what I am beginning to get is that you're determined not to give me a break." Ulrich says in annoyance.

"We're gonna have to get to know each other. And you'll see by the end of the day, you won't be able to do without me." Odd then sees Nadia, walking out. She walks in the direction of the two of them. "Hi there, I'm Odd Della Robbia!"

"I'm Nadia. Ulrich, I thought you didn't have any friends" she asks him.

"I don't, but he's kinda of a parasite" Ulrich replies.

"And roommate" Odd adds.

"I thought you said you would never have a roommate" Nadia says.

"I still won't. It'll change by tomorrow" Ulrich replies, glaring at Odd.

Jeremy sits down in his chair at the lab, typing. "Artificial intelligence? Can you hear me?"

The girl from before appears on screen. "Yes, but would you mind calling me something else, please?" She requests.

"Okay, how do you like the name…Maya?" He suggests.

"Maya?" She thinks it over. "I like that, but what I'd really like is for you to tell me what I'm doing in this virtual universe."

"That's not so easy," he confesses since he doesn't know all about it. "But I already got a couple of answers. You're part of a virtual environment called Lyoko, and you've gotta try to get out of there. Look around for a door or something like that."

Maya gets up. She walks a pathway to a wall. She starts pressing against it. "Jeremy, I can't find anything, I-" She then phases through and exits into a forest. The tower behind her has a white aura. "Jeremy, I…this is weird, you have to see this."

"I'd love to. You think you can give me a visual?"

"I'll try."

Jeremy waits patiently. A screen pops up, showing the forest through Maya's eyes.

"Wow!" The holosphere activates showing the full world of Lyoko. "Maya, there isn't just a forest out there. There's an entire world! I count four sectors; each one is different."

Maya gasps, stopping as two members come from two paths. They have a weird eye symbol on them. "Uh, Jeremy? I'm…not all alone out here. There are some animals."

"That's fantastic! This virtual world has an entire ecosystem with a virtual living creatures, can you get-" They start firing at Maya and she takes off running.

"Jeremy! They're attacking me!" She shouts.

"Run away Maya. Get back to the tower," he tells her. She gets hit by one of the lasers, falling just in front of the tower. An ID card appears in front of Jeremy, and it glows red. "Maya, hurry up!" She stands up and runs, getting hit again and falling inside. She looks to be unconscious. The ID card stops beeping. "Phew…your…your life points are regenerating."

A black-haired girl in black clothing puts a coin in the vending machine. She stirs her drink, walking past Nadia, Odd, and Ulrich. They all had drinks in their hands.

"You know what I was thinking. You know your girlfriend there Sissi?" Odd asks.

"She's not my girlfriend" Ulrich points out.

"Far from" Nadia adds. She saw Sissi trying to date Ulrich from her first year attending Kadic.

"Cool!" Odd throws his cup in the trash can. "So that means she's available." He crosses his arms.

"Trust me Odd. I think you're better off without her in your life. She's enough of a pain as is" Nadia tells him.

"At least you agree with me Nadia. I'm telling you, she's lame. Plus, no offense, but you're not her type," Ulrich says. Jeremy enters and presses a button and gets electrocuted. "Belpois!"

"Jeremy!" Nadia exclaims at the same time.

"Hey Belpois, you okay?" Ulrich asks as Nadia picks up his glasses and Ulrich puts them on.

"Come on Jeremy, talk to us" Nadia tells him.

"Let's take him to the infirmary," Ulrich says to Nadia. He turns to Odd. "Tell a teacher okay?"

"Mmhm" Odd runs off. Nadia and Ulrich slowly walk Jeremy to the infirmary. The buttons flash the eye of the monsters on Lyoko…

The nurse checks over Jeremy. "Nothing too serious, just a minor electrical shock and some superficial burns."

"You wanted some juice, well you got some" Ulrich jokes, Nadia hitting his arm with her elbow.

"Not funny" Nadia says in an aggravated tone.

"Yeah, very funny Stern, but thank you, both of you" Jeremy says in amusement.

"Don't mention it, I'll come by to check on you tonight after my martial arts class" Ulrich leaves.

"I'll also check up with you later tonight" Nadia adds before she leaves.

"How are you all?" Jim asks in the gymnasium later that night. "I'm happy to see so many of you here tonight." Currently, Ulrich is the only one there. "Canari Paya! Kogusoku! Jutsu!" The same black haired girl from earlier walks in. "No, these are not dishes from the Golden Dragon Chinese restaurant." Jim laughs at this. "Uh, no offense Miss Ishiyama."

"None taken sir. I'm Japanese" she correct. He rubs his head.

"Yeah, well, whatever. Anyway, these are combo techniques that can save your life! As they did for me when I was a forest ranger in Quebec."

"Really? What happened?" Ulrich questions curiously.

"That night? Well, I was quietly enjoying a waffle with maple syrup by my campfire when I was attacked by a vicious beaver! Its razor sharp teeth were going for my jugular, but I was able to save myself thanks to my perfect mastery of the Raging Hand of Lei Fu Chang!" Ulrich and the girl burst out laughing. "What? What's so funny about that?"

"Excuse us sir" the girl apologizes.

"Honestly, I think you would've been better off not talking about it!" Ulrich exclaims.

"Right. Okay then, enough laughing. Let's get into groups of two."

The two stand across from each other. The girl bows to him before they take stances. The girl kicks but Ulrich ducks. She proves to have good skills.

"Pretty good for a beginner."

She kicks him in the face, and he falls to the ground. She tackles him, holding him by the shoulders. They stare at each other intensely, and then they both blush slightly.

"Not bad," they look up to Jim. "But you could both use a lot more work. That'll do it for tonight kids. Battle each other and go get some beauty sleep." They stand up, the girl bowing in respect. Ulrich turns and leaves without bowing.

"Well, nice to meet you too" she narrows her eyes.

Ulrich walks back to his room, opening the door and dropping his backpack. "Huh?!" The room is a total mess, a dog on his bed. "What is with this mess? Where did that mutt come from?!"

"Uh," Odd sits up. "That's Kiwi, my dog. He just had a little fit, that's all. You understand, the poor thing's not used to being cooped up."

"I mean look at this! My CD's, my clothes, he's trashed everything! And he -argh! Did you see what he did in my bed?" Ulrich states, not happy at all.

Odd walks over and cringes. "Oh, sorry, but I couldn't take him out with everyone around. There are no dogs allowed at Kadic."

"No kidding! I think the principal's gonna be real interested in hearing about this!" Ulrich smirks, closing the door.

"Oh, that's okay Kiwi," the dog tears up Ulrich's pillow. "My little diggity dog!"

Jeremy is typing on his computer in his room, a robot next to him Suddenly, his computer shuts down. "Hmm, what's going on?" It starts up again, showing the same eye yet again. "Hey, I've seen that logo before." He turns to his robot starting up, the same eye appearing from the lens. Jeremy gasps nervously.

Ulrich walks by and sees Nadia walking towards him. "Hey Nadia, what's up?"

"Nothing, just checking up on Jeremy. What about you?"

"Finally have a reason to get Odd expelled. I was just heading to the principal's-" Jermey suddenly screams from his room. Ulrich opens the door, seeing Jeremy being attacked by the robot.

"Hang on," Ulrich tries to pull the robot off him, only to be slightly shocked by another one. "Hey!" Ulrich stomps on it, knocking it away. The computer turns off, and Nadia grabs the robot on Jeremy, throwing it to the ground.

"Your little friends are kind of aggressive, maybe you should check their settings" Ulrich suggests.

"Ulrich, I don't think this was normal robot attack" Nadia says.

"She's right, I had nothing to do with it. They just attacked me all of a sudden" Jeremy explains.

"You lost me, do you mind explaining?" Ulrich asks for more.

"No, forget it."

"Come on, tell us. Maybe we can be of some help."

"Yeah Jeremy. Apparently you know more than you're letting on" Nadia tells him.

What if you suddenly get attacked by a hairdryer and we're not around?" Ulrich jokes.

"Ha, very funny" Jeremy still not giving away his secret.

"We're not leaving this room until we know what's up" Ulrich sits in his chair.

"Jeremy, someone, or something's targeting you. We need to know everything" Nadia tells him.

"Okay, what have I got to lose? I'm already in over my head, so I might as well tell you. This sis so crazy." He looks at the door, walking up and closing it. "But first, tell me if you can keep a secret."

Ulrich and Nadia glance at each other.

Thy start walking across the bridge to the factory. "That tunnel in the gym is a great way to beat curfew" Ulrich replies.

"Yeah, and there's another one on campus as well," Jeremy explains, and they walk up to the rope. Jeremy goes first, the followed by Nadia. Ulrich is still at the top. "What's the matter, scared of heights?" Jeremy calls out.

"Uh, no," Ulrich closes his eyes, cringing as he slides down. They go down in the elevator and into the lab. "Okay, so that's the mega computer you started up?"

"Uh huh. It's actually a supercomputer. Its ultra powerful and while I was examining it, I found out that it runs a virtual universe called Lyoko."

"You know what Belpois? This morning's electric shock fried your brain" Ulrich points to his head.

"I can believe him. My mom specializes in IT, and she said she knew someone who worked with computers" Nadia defends Jeremy.

"I can't believe it. This is just the control center of the factory, that's all."

Jeremy types in some keys and Maya appears. "Oh yeah? And what would you call this, huh?" They turn to Maya. "A program for spray painting doors?" Jeremy asks.

"Hello Jeremy" Maya greets.

"Who's the girl with the pink hair?" Ulrich asks.

'I feel like I've seen her before somewhere' Nadia thinks to herself.

"That's Maya, a form of artificial intelligence who lives on Lyoko. I don't know what she's there for yet" Jeremy replies.

"Is she real or virtual?" Nadia asks.

"I don't know. I just know she's trapped."

"Don't mess with us. You programmed her, right?" Ulrich questions.

"No," Maya answers. "I woke up the moment that Jeremy restarted the supercomputer. I don't know who I am. My memory has been erased."

"Maya has to hide in some kind of a tower," Jeremy explains as Ulrich looks at Nadia who shrugs. "As soon as she leaves it, she gets attacked by monsters. You gotta believe me Stern and Nadia. This is an incredible discovery!"

"I want to, and I can" Nadia admits.

"Let's say it is…what if…what if its just some kind of giant video game?" Ulrich crosses his arms.

"Then it's a very dangerous game. My robots are programmed just to go and fetch a ball. And they just tried to kill me, don't forget. You saw them. What's more, the moment they attacked, a kind of logo appeared on my computer screen. The same one that the monsters had on Lyoko."

"Better and better. Do you mean that the virtual thing that attacked Maya also wants to kill you?" Ulrich points to him.

"That's what it looks like."

"Whatever attacked Maya also seems to want Jeremy gone too. This has to be real," Nadia concludes. "No way it was a coincidence."

Ulrich turns around. "You know what? If that's true Belpois, if it's that dangerous, I think you should shut it down and call the police."

"No police. We'll end up in a psychic ward for telling them" Nadia tells Ulrich.

"I'll shut it down…but first I want to help Maya to understand what she's doing on Lyoko" Jeremy explains.

"Say what?" Ulrich questions.

"You want to help a possibly not real girl?" Nadia says next.

"I really do, and if I'm right, we can materialize her right here on Earth" Jeremy looks away shyly.

"Oh, that's too much. What makes you think you can?" Ulrich asks.

"You'll see Stern. You too Nadia" Jeremy smiles.

"I don't need to be convinced. I've seen enough to know something's wrong here. And even if Maya isn't real, let's try to save her" Nadia agrees with Jeremy.

Sissi has a mud mask on, getting ready to meet Ulrich. "This one is absolutely perfect! Tonight, my dear Ulrich, you're all mine…"

"What's all this?" Ulrich questions as they're in front of the scanners.

"Scanners, I still haven't found the program that can bring Maya back to Earth, but I dug up the one which allows someone to be scanned and sent to Lyoko. In fact, the supercomputer analyzes your molecular structure through these cabins, and then breaks down your atoms before digitalizing them and recreating a digital incarnation in the virtual world."

"Hm, in English?"

"Cliffnotes version please?" Nadia adds.

"You go inside the cabin; you're teleported to the virtual world" Jeremy elaborates.

Ulrich taps the scanner that Jeremy's in. "Jeremy, these things don't exist yet. There's no way" he shakes his head; Jeremy crosses his arms.

"You still don't want to believe me."

"I would love to, but virtualization is straight out of science fiction."

"Plus, how do we know these things work. Maya could've been programmed by someone else" Nadia points out.

Jeremy sits in the scanner. "Why don't we try it out? That way, you can see for yourself," Jeremy suggests. "But we're gonna need a guinea pig."

"A guinea pig? No problem" Ulrich gets an idea.

Odd snores in Ulrich's room, his hair messy. Ulrich stands over his bed. "Well, got a surprise for you doggy. You're gonna be virtualized" he places his hands behind his back. Kiwi pants, not knowing what he was in for.

Sissi waits in her room, already ten minutes past 8. She huffs impatiently, pulling out her cell phone.

Ulrich's phone starts to ring as he picks up Kiwi. Odd hears it and turns around just in time to see Ulrich leave with his dog. "Hey!" He runs after him.

Sissi gives a blank look, shutting her phone. She stands up and leaves, stomping along the way. Ulrich runs past, not even noticing her. Odd tackles her to the ground and she looks up at him.

Odd appears at the staircase. "Hey! Ulrich!" They both run after him, and he runs downstairs to the boiler room. Odd and Sissi look to see a tunnel leading to the sewers.

"Where's he going?" Sissi asks. "I'm sure there's another girl.

"No, it's Kiwi, my dog" Odd replies. Sissi faints at this revelation.

Ulrich pants, pushing the button which closes the elevator. Odd and Sissi run up, looking at it go down the shaft. "But why is he taking Kiwi into this factory?"

"Who knows? Maybe he wants to use him for some horrible science experiment" Sissi suggests.

"You watch too many horror movies" Odd replies.

"Yeah, you're right, that was pretty dumb. It's probably more like some sort of ritual sacrifice or voodoo thing!"

"Nice doggy don't move" Ulrich warns as Kiwi is in the scanner. He climbs up the ladder that leads to the lab.

Odd and Sissi climb down the ladder from the shaft.

Ulrich climbs up, Nadia and Jeremy turning to him. "Everything's cool Jeremy, the mutts in the scanner."

"Okay, let's see how it goes. It's not gonna be a piece of cake" Jeremy comments.

"You better hope Odd doesn't hate you after this Ulrich" Nadia points out.

"Even better. Gets him out of my room faster" Ulrich replies.

Odd jumps down into the scanner room from the shaft. Sissi follows him. "Those things look like coffins" Odd points out, tilting his head in confusion.

"You're right! Maybe it's the tomb of an Egyptian pharaoh, huh?"

"Right, we're all set," Jeremy finishes setting things up. "I'm starting up the procedure."

"Kiwi! Are you okay boy?" Odd steps into the scanner, picking up his dog. Jeremy presses enter and the scanner starts up. Kiwi jumps out of Odd's arms and out of the scanner. "Hey!" The doors close in on him.

"Oh no! You're going to be mummified!" Sissi panics.

"Transfer guinea pig. Scanner guinea pig." A human silhouette appears, not the dogs. "Huh? I – wait…that's a weird looking dog" Jeremy concludes.

"That's no dog, that's Odd Della Robbia!" Ulrich realizes.

"Jeremy, try to stop it!" Nadia tells him.

"Uh, I don't know how to stop the procedure!" Jeremy exclaims.

"Heeelp!" They look to the ladder and Ulrich checks it out.

"Oh man."

Odd is virtualized into the forest, but as a cat. He lands roughly.

"Ouch! W-What's going on around here? Where am I?" He looks down at himself. "And why am I dressed up like a giant purple cat?" He's in a purple cat costume with cat paws and a tail. His hair is also spiked to go straight up.

"Uh, Odd Della Robbia?" Jeremy asks through the microphone.

"Uh, who's calling me?" Odd looks around.

"It's me, Jeremy Belpois."

"Is this a joke or something?"

"Uh, no."

Ulrich jumps into the scanner room. "Sissi!?"

"Oh Ulrich!" She turns around to him.

"Ulrich, it's okay. Odd is safe and sound on Lyoko" Jeremy tells him through the microphone.

"Am I…in a video game?" Odd asks. "It looks like the set for Babylon Ninja Fighters 3."

"Actually, I don't really know. It's a virtual world, that much I'm sure of."

"Cool!" He's suddenly hit from behind, seeing the two monsters that attacked Maya. "Uh, that's a lot less cool. Uh, there are these giant cockroaches attacking me, is that normal?"

"Yeah" Jeremy answers as he looks at the map.

"Oh, nothing to worry about then."

"That's not what I meant. You gotta get out of there."

"Got a plan B?" Nadia asks.

"Devirtualize him, but the process takes time."

"Then send me and Ulrich to Lyoko." Nadia heads down the ladder.

"Ulrich, you and Nadia are headed to Lyoko to help Odd."

"And Sissi too?" He asks.

"If she wants too?"

"But where too?" Sissi asks.

"To a virtual world where weird monsters wanna massacre you,. You wanted to go out with me, now's your chance."

"No thanks. Uh, I prefer real worlds. I'm not into the other kind. Plus, I couldn't possibly miss cheerleading practice tomorrow morning."

Ulrich and Nadia step into the two open scanners.

"See ya chicken! Jeremy, we're ready to go."

"Okay, I'm starting the procedure," Jeremy replies. The doors close around them. "Transfer Ulrich. Transfer Nadia." Wind comes in, blowing both of their hair up. "Scanner Ulrich. Scanner Nadia. Virtualization. Odd, hang in there. Ulrich and Nadia are on their way to give you a hand."

"Great! I was starting to get bored here all alone." He looks up to see Ulrich and Nadia being virtualized into Lyoko. They both land roughly.

"Ouch! Aw…" Ulrich says.

"I thought we were going to be virtualized on ground, not 30 feet in the air" Nadia adds.

They both stand up, looking at the environment. Ulrich looks at himself. The boy looks similar to a samurai, with an Oni drawn on his back. He pulls out a sword from the sheath on his left hip. "Wow! This sword rocks!"

Nadia examines herself. Her hair is tied up in a ponytail with a dark blue hair tie. She wears black boots that almost reach her knees and black leggings. She also wears a dark blue sleeveless dress. The dress drops down to mid-thigh. There is a cut on each side near the hips. There is also a white sash around her torso, under her chest. On her hands, she has dark blue fingerless gloves with two white stripes near the top of the gloves and they extend to reach slightly above her elbows. On her back is a katana with a dark grey, almost black, hilt. She draws her sword.

"Cool. I like the look of this" Nadia comments.

"Hey, that's not fair, how come he gets to be a samurai? That's so much cooler!" Odd complains. "And how come Nadia gets a stylish outfit?"

"I have no idea why. Maybe the computer just reads into your own subconscious desires and projects them onto your digital incarnation" Jeremy explains.

"I don't dream about giant purple cats!" Odd argues. "What's more, I'd rather have a weapon like Ulrich or Nadia! Not these great big useless paws!" Suddenly a laser arrow comes out and flies between Ulrich and Nadia.

"Hey, watch out!" Ulrich warns.

"Yeah, or you'll end up killing us or sooner or later with those arrows!" Nadia adds.

"Hm," Odd looks down at his paws. "These arrows are pretty cool. I take back what I said."

Sissi and Kiwi appear from the elevator, the girl gasping in shock. "Wow!"

"Try to hook up with Maya in her tower. Hold on, I'll give you the coordinates" Jeremy says.

"Who's this Maya?" He turns to see Sissi. "And what is that thing?"

"It's – it's the mainframe of a supercomputer." Suddenly, the red logo appears on his screen. Kiwi barks at the electricity coming from the wires and they shot up from the floor. Sissi screams as the wires have come to life.

"Who's this Maya?" Odd asks Ulrich and Nadia as they walk.

"A virtual girl who lives on Lyoko" Ulrich tells him.

"Oh, you mean there are babes here too? Great!"

"Get in line Odd. I think Jeremy has first pick over you" Nadia tells him.

"Yeah, Belpois looks like he's flipped for her" Ulrich comments.

"For a virtual chick? Is he nuts?" Odd asks.

"Maybe."

Nadia punches Ulrich in the arm for that remark. "This may seem weird, but it also feels like I've seen her somewhere before."

"She's virtual, there's no way!"

"Well, the person I saw was pretty close to her. Almost an exact match. Just a little younger. She looked like 8 or 9 years old."

"Jeremy, are you gonna give us those coordinates or not?" Ulrich looks up. "Jeremy? Are you asleep or what?"

Jeremy ducks from getting zapped as Kiwi continues to bark. "Sic im, I said. Sic im, you dumb mutt!" Sissi tries pushing him forward, and Jeremy gets shocked.

Odd turns to his left. "Huh? Look, I see a tower. It could be that one." They see a blue tower in the distance. They run up to it. "Is there a door?" Odd presses against it, only to phase through. He ends up near the platform and hangs on. Ulrich goes in the same way, and grabs Odd's legs. "I can't hold on for much longer! You're too heavy! Drop your saber!"

"Nice try but forget it" Ulrich states and they start to fall.

"Gotcha!" Nadia exclaims catching Odd's arm. But the weight of the two eventually pulls her over the edge and they fall, screaming. Suddenly, they get out of the tower and are in the ice sector. There's a red glowing tower in the distance.

"Okay, right. Where are we? Where did the forest go?" Odd asks.

"How should I know?" Ulrich retorts.

"I think we somehow changed sectors by falling in the tower. Maybe these act as gateways between sectors and maybe the real world" Nadia explains.

"But you see the tower over there? Weird how its not the same color."

"Hmm…" Odd sees it. "And those creatures, they're kind of weird too."

The three turn to see 3 cube-shaped monsters heading towards them. One of them spins and powers up.

"It might be a good thing to beat it, don't you think?" Ulrich suggests. The three run as lasers are fired.

Sissi holds Kiwi as a shield as Jeremy falls to the ground. He gets grabbed by one of the wires, screaming as he's electrocuted.

Nadia, Odd, and Ulrich are surrounded by the bloks, One of them powers up behind Ulrich and he deflects it with his sword. Another one fires a blue laser and Ulrich dodges it. One fires at Nadia and Ulrich rushes over, deflecting it.

"Wow!" He says.

Odd makes a shield from his arms, deflecting a laser. Nadia suddenly disappears, going invisible.

"Where did Nadia go?" Ulrich asks.

"I'm still here with you guys" she responds confused.

"Yeah, but you're invisible."

She looks, but she can still see herself. "Guess I'm the only one who can see me."

Ulrich speeds to a blok, jumping and landing on top of it. He hits it with his sword, but nothing happens. He jumps back to the two. Ulrich deflects another laser.

"So, how do we kill these things?" Ulrich questions.

"I wish I knew. Hey, you wouldn't know how many life points we have?" Odd answers.

"No."

Nadia reappears behind a blok. She stabs the eye with her katana and the blok explodes, sending her flying.

They both see this and Odd is devirtualized. Ulrich jumps to a blok, stabbing the eye like Nadia. The blok explodes. "Yes!" Ulrich pumps a fist and then is devirtualized.

The one remaining blok goes to where Nadia is, and she sits up only to see a blok charge its laser and fire. She throws her sword right before she's devirtualized. The blok is also defeated.

Ulrich reappears from the scanner. "Great, at least we're alive."

"Uh, alive? Well, if you say so. I think I'm about to throw up" Odd calls out.

"AHHH, HELP US!" Sissi shouts from the lab.

"Now we know why Jeremy didn't help us" Nadia says as they rush to the ladder.

Sissi starts crying in fear as Jeremy is in trouble.

"Uh oh" Odd comments as the three enter the lab.

"Ulrrrrrich!" Sissi cries.

"Hang in there Jeremy!" Ulrich calls out, seeing a metal sheet. He hits the wire with it, getting shocked himself. He falls to the ground, about to be attacked by a wire, but it stops.

"It works the second time!" Odd hit the wire with the same metal sheet. "I told you that by the end of the day you wouldn't be able to do without me!" Nadia helps Ulrich up. The wires holding Jeremy drop.

"Maya? Are you there?" Jeremy asks.

Maya appears on the screen. "Yes, is everything okay on your side?"

"Well, we're a little shaken up, but it could've been worse!" Jeremy chuckles.

The tower still remains red in the ice sector and things were only going to get worse. This was just the beginning…
