Emily had finally made it to the archives in the embassy, hoping to get her mind off that... issue... again.
'Why here?! Why fucking here if all places?! Ugh, I feel like I need to wash my brain with acid to get that image out of my head.' Emily thought as she entered the archives room.
"Okay, here we go!" Emily said, grabbing the handle. "If anyone is in here, just know, I am mad and am very likely to kill you if you annoy me!"
Waiting for a response but getting nothing, Emily walked up to the directory book of the archives opened it.
"Now, let's see if there any recent sinner entries." Emily said.
When she opened it, a bunch of dust flew into the air.
"Ugh, well, that was in my mouth." Emily said, spitting to the floor a bit.
For the first time in her life in Hell, Emily found something that she didn't want to eat. AT ALL. Refocusing, Emily looked in the book for sinner arrivals in the last year or so.
"Alright, there was... several million... fuck." Emily said, frowning angrily. "I hate that Millions die ever year, because I'm going to be busy."
'Which is good for the hotel but still, thinking of new activities for new cases are going to be exhausting!' Emily thought with a groan before going back to work.
Looking over each and every name of female sinners that could potentially be the sinner killer. Which… did not really narrow things down.
"Damn, there are a lot of serial killers this past year." Emily muttered.
As she kept looking through the names, the door of the archives was opened and footsteps were heard.
"Um, If I may-"
"FUCK NO, Sera. You cannot help me." Emily said, without turning around to her. "You neither, uncle Satan."
"Emily-"
"Go away." Emily said to Sera.
"No, Emily. You need help and we're here to give it." Satan said as he crossed his arms.
"No. You're here to give it to each other. Now leave me alone." Emily said, still reading the female sinner names.
"Emily, please. I am sorry for what you saw but you have to understand. Two lovers being separated for hundreds of years, it's only natural to experience a little…pent up energy." Sera said as calmly as she could.
"She's asexual, Sera. She doesn't understand." Satan said to his lover.
"Thank you!" Emily said, still not facing them.
"That being said, we... we are still deeply in love." Sera said, holding Satan's hand.
"Then why must you express it when I am near?! Do you know how mentally scarring it is to see my suddenly NO RELATION older sister making out with my adopted uncle?!" Emily shouted, glancing at them.
"It's not intentional! You seeing me in such a lustful manner is that last thing I would want!" Sera said with her hands up.
"Then go to the Wrath ring, where you have a literal ZERO percent chance of running into me!" Emily said, pointing to the floor. "The Pride Ring is my home, I'm ALWAYS here!"
"Okay, we could've gone there but think about it. Nobody but the Sins or those with Angel blood can enter this building. What better place could you go for privacy?" Satan said.
"YOUR HOUSE!" Emily shouted, pointing at Satan.
Emily just didn't know why this was such a foreign concept to him!
"Look, the point is, we couldn't wait and we apologize. So please, let us help you with whatever you need right now, Emily." Satan said to her.
Emily paused to think about this a bit. Going through millions of names for female sinners or transgender sinners to find the killer could take endless days if one was to do it alone. So……
"FINE! But if I see or hear even one bit of couple interaction, I am going to be LIVID!" Emily shouted at them, her horns coming out to show her point.
"We promise! No kissing, cuddling, or any sort of foreplay!" Sera said quickly.
"I'll keep my hands off Sera as long as you need help here, Em. I swear on my honor as a sin." Satan said, putting a fist to his chest.
"You fucking better." Emily said as she pulled her horns back in, before turning to Sera, "I am NEVER calling you 'Aunty' if you marry him. Be aware of that."
"I am completely fine with that." Sera said with a nod.
"Good, now help me look." Emily said, looking back at the book.
"Gladly." Sera said as she and Satan moved to look over Emily's shoulders at the book, slowly becoming shocked. "… That many people entered hell this year?"
"YEP. Humanity is nothing like God wanted it to be." Emily said blankly. "And no, it's not mostly because of ddd. Plus some people aren't that evil."
"I know but our judgement is…not that flawed." Sera said, doubtful.
"It is. You people just don't know how to actually get people into heaven." Emily mumbled.
Well I'm sure it isn't easy. It's not like there are machines that can judge a person by the evil and the goodness in their souls." Satan said, being somewhat sarcastic.
"…" Emily stared blankly at her uncle while Sera gained a look of revelation.
"Don't tell me there's actually a machine." Satan said, groaning.
"No!" Sera said, denying this before slumping a bit. "…It's an ancient spell infused into a statue in Limbo."
"Limbo? You mean the place heaven and hell send people too dangerous to be in hell?" Satan asked in surprise.
"Well, yes, but we keep it in the furthest corner of Limbo and it has another spell to erase the memory of the souls after judgement." Sera said, trying to act logical.
"Stupid thing." Emily mumbled, turning the page in the book. "Probably broke a few centuries ago."
"It has not…at least I can assume it hasn't." Sera said.
"Has nobody gone to check it since it was placed there?" Satan asked.
"…" Sera just looked away awkwardly as Satan facepalmed.
'This is the woman I love, still so dedicated in her duties that she ignores crucial parts.' He thought.
"Can we refocus and make Sera feel like stupid shit later, please?" Emily said, still reading names of recently created sinners.
One of which just seemed to be a class clown that stuffed whipped cream in her teacher's desk.
'This is going to take all fucking day.' Emily thought, dreading all of this book searching.
