A/N: Well it's a new year with regular TV shows resuming airing and for the first time in 14 years Blue Bloods is no longer on the schedule. It hurts. It really really hurts but in an attempt to try and help lessen the sting I thought maybe on Fridays I could post chapters and attempt to make them more like an actual segment of the show including multiple characters/settings so that's what the chapter below is (but with a running theme) Let me know what you think. Should I keep attempting to do this?

Chapter 4: Reactions

Erin and Eddie stand at the island in the Reagan family kitchen emptying the dinner left overs into containers. "I am just so happy for you!" Eddie again gushes with an ear to ear smile on her face "I always knew you two belonged together."

A true smile appears on Erin's face that at least someone in the family is happy for her "Thank you."

"Have you told Nicky?"

Erin nods "We did." She admits "Before she left to go back to San Francisco."

Eddie pauses to think at hearing that "But that was last weekend." She notes.

Erin nods "It was."

"Wait…" Eddie apprehensively queries "Exactly how long have you been remarried?"

"Almost 2 weeks now." Erin admits.

"2 WEEKS!" Eddie repeats in shock "And you're just telling us all now?"

"Well we were going to announce it last week when everyone was all here..." Erin admits "But then you and Jamie announced your news and we didn't want to step on your moment."

A look of horror appears on Eddie's face as she realizes that is exactly what she and Jamie did to Erin and Jack "Oh Erin! I'm sorry!"

But Erin smiles and dismissively waves off Eddie's apology "It's fine. Really."

"No its not." Eddie begins to insist but Erin holds up a hand to stop Eddie "It is. Truly." She sincerely reiterates "Jack and I already did the big hoopla with both the marriage and everything baby related. We don't need to repeat any of that." Erin promises "Last week was your moment to have. Us announcing our remarriage this week was fine."

Eddie's face crinkles up in hesitation "Are you sure?"

"Positive." Erin reassures her.

Eddie smiles appreciatively at Erin and her sacrifice "Thank you but still..."

Suddenly Jack enters the kitchen "You ready to go Mrs. Boyle?" He playfully queries with a smile.

At hearing that Eddie looks up in thought at Erin "Wow Mrs. Boyle." She notes "That's going to take a bit for me to get used to. You've always been Erin Reagan to me."

"And I still will be." Erin states "I'm not officially changing my name." she reveals causing Jack to look at his wife in surprised shock.

"Oh so you're keeping Erin Reagan." Eddie notes in understanding as she continues the conversation but returns her eyes to focus on emptying food into containers "That makes sense."

Feeling blindsided by Erin's announcement, Jack looks between Erin and Eddie who are both concentrating on looking down at the food containers "It does?" He questions - Erin took his last name last time – he had just assumed she would do it this time too.

"Yeah." Erin confirms as she glances up at Jack then looks at Eddie "I mean Eddie, you kept Janko when at work so I'll just keep Reagan." She simply explains before looking back down at the food "Makes it simpler."

Lifting her head at that moment to place the plate she just finished emptying further down out of the way on the counter Eddie catches what she could swear is a look of displeasure on Jack's face but it's short lived for the second Erin begins to look up from her own empty plate Jack plasters a smile on his face to cover but it's a move that has Eddie frowning a bit in concern so she tentatively looks back and forth between the newlyweds hoping the honeymoon isn't over already…

…..

The ride home for Jamie and Eddie is quiet and that has little alarm bells of concern going off in Jamie as he repeatedly glances over at his silent wife as he drives "You okay?" He finally inquires "You're being awfully quiet over there and with Erin and Jack's news I expected you to be talking non stop all the way home."

Eddie frowns, takes a deep breath and turns slightly in her seat to face her husband "Are you really okay with me using Janko and not Reagan at work?"

Not at all expecting that question to come out of his wife's mouth, Jamie again glances at his wife but this time with a completely perplexed expression on his face "Okay where did that come from?"

"Just answer the question." Eddie seriously prompts "And I want the truth. Are you okay with me using Janko?"

"Yeah, I'm fine with it." Jamie honestly replies.

"You sure?" Eddie presses.

"Yes." Jamie confirms.

"Truly, truly sure?" Eddie checks.

A look of complete confusion appears on Jamie's face "Eddie we've been married for years. Have I ever given you the impression I wasn't okay with it?"

"Well no." Eddie admits.

"Then where is this coming from?" Jamie prompts.

Eddie sighs "I was doing dishes with Erin." She explains "Jack came in and we somehow got on the topic of our married last names and when Erin stated she would be keeping and using Reagan instead of changing her name to Boyle, I caught Jack not only looking completely blindsided by that but a bit unhappy about it as well..."

"Oh." Jamie breathes out as Eddie tentatively continues on "...and that made me think that maybe you..."

Suddenly Jamie gets why his wife is suddenly fixated on this "No." He interrupts in reassurance "I promise you Eddie, I'm absolutely 100% fine with you using Janko but..." he adds with a slight back and forth tilt of his head "...with Jack and Erin, well, I can see how Jack might not have been expecting that – Erin did use Boyle the first time they were married."

"She did?" Eddie states in slight surprise "I didn't know that."

"Yeah." Jamie confirms "But after the divorce she eventually dropped the Boyle and went back to just Reagan. I mean it makes sense for her to just keep Reagan now though…" Jamie admits "Like you, she's built a whole career and reputation around that name. She doesn't want to - and shouldn't have to - lose that."

Eddie smiles in true appreciation at her husband's immediate understanding of the situation "Have I told you lately how much I love you?"

Jamie glances at his wife and flashes her a super quick grin "I'm always open to hearing it more." He cheekily returns.

At first Eddie laughs at his reply but then her laughter dies away to a sigh "I just hope Jack is as understanding as you."

Again Jamie glances at his wife "I'm sure it will be fine." He reassures her "They'll work it out." He dismissively adds because the last thing he wanted was for Eddie to get herself - or more importantly him - involved in his sister's marriage.

….

Garrett, Abby and Sid sit across from Frank in his office trying to go over their day's agenda but the trio keep glancing at one another as they talk and Frank's attention seems to be getting further and further away from the issues at hand.

"And then a cop will jump out of a cake…" Garrett announces "…and start dancing to YMCA."

"Hmmm." Frank automatically mutters with an up and down nod of his head in agreement as he just stares off into space.

The dream team again all hesitantly glance at one another.

"Okay enough Frank!" Garrett finally chides as he takes the lead and speaks for the group "What is going on already!"

At Garrett's outburst, Frank snaps his attention back to his team in front of him "What?"

"You just agreed to a cop jumping out of a cake and dancing to YMCA." Abby deadpans.

A look of complete confusion appears on Frank's face as he thinks back "I did?"

Garrett, Abby and Sid all nod their heads up and down and say "You did." in unison.

"Oh." Frank mutters with a frown.

"So what's going on?" Garrett repeats.

Frank sighs in defeat "My daughter announced she remarried her ex-husband in a private ceremony at city hall."

Garrett, Abby and Sid's faces all scrunch up "You mean Jack Boyle?" Sid tries to clarify.

"You know another ex-husband my daughter has?" Frank tosses back.

"Well no." Sid admits.

"Well that's um…" Abby hesitantly begins but knowing how Frank feels about Jack she's not really sure what would be appropriate for her to say "I mean it's… ah…"

"Surprising." Garrett steps in to offer.

"Yes!" Abby quickly repeats "Surprising."

Frank stares right at his team "Not the word I'd use."

The dream team trio all gulp a little.

"And she didn't even invite me!" Frank suddenly explodes in a frustrated rant "Or any of us! I mean I know I've never been the biggest fan of the guy but to shut me out of the wedding?" he questions as he first looks at Garrett, then Abby and settles his gaze on Sid as if looking for some kind of answer as to why.

"Yeah I got nothing Boss." Sid honestly admits "Not really my wheelhouse." He tacks on before turning his head "Abby?" he prompts trying to deflect off onto her.

For a second Abby silently looks at Sid and but then simply just turns her head and looks at Garrett "Garrett?" She prompts passing the buck.

"Look at it this way..." Garrett slowly begins as he tries to complete his thought in his head before speaking it outloud.

"Wait I've got one!" Sid suddenly jumps in "At least you didn't have to pay for a second wedding!" he proudly announces to Frank.

Garrett and Abby both cringe as they close their eyes while Frank just stares super unimpressed at his Lieutenant.

"Never mind." Sid grumbles knowing his suggestion sounded way better in his head but after actually saying it out loud? Not so much... "Garrett?" he quickly prompts trying to take the heat off himself and pass that hot potato back to someone else…

...

Danny and Maria walk down the hallway of a high end apartment building with Danny in ranting mode "And she just up and remarried him!"

A look of pure annoyance crosses Maria's face "Yes so you keep repeating." She tosses back as she begins to secure a rubber glove onto her hand.

"But to marry him?" Danny continues to question in disbelief as they come up to an apartment doorway guarded by a patrol officer and Maria wanting nothing more then to have this repetitive conversation end plasters a smile on her face, looks at the officer and while snapping the rubber glove into place takes the lead "What have we got because just about anything will be better then my current conversation with this guy."

"Dead body." The officer replies.

Maria frowns "Oh." She notes in regret as the officer turns to escort them into the apartment "Never mind."

...

Jack repeatedly glances at Erin as they move around her apartment getting ready for the day and finally he bites the bullet and asks the question that had been bugging him all night "So you're really not going to take my name?"

"I hadn't planned on it, no." Erin simply reiterates as she stuffs files into her briefcase.

"Oh." Jack notes and the way he says it has Erin pausing from her task and turning to look at her husband "Is that a problem?" She queries.

"No, I guess it's not a problem." Jack counters.

"You guess?" Erin challenges.

"I was just a little surprised." Jack admits "You took it last time so..."

"Oh." Erin breathes out in understanding over the confusion before slowly admitting "I guess we just kind of jumped into this remarriage thing without really discussing some things didn't we?"

"Yeah." Jack a bit awkwardly confirms as the two just stand there looking at one another – neither really knowing where to begin when Erin's cellphone suddenly dings with a notification "My car is here." She announces "We'll... we'll discuss this later?"

Once again Jack plasters an accommodating smile on his face "Sure."

"Great." Erin accepts as she picks up her briefcase, moves towards her husband and gives him a quick kiss "Have a good day." She offers before breezing past him and out the door.

"You too." Jack offers out to an empty apartment before sighing, reaching for his own briefcase and following suit.

A/N: Or should I make them Sunday Dinner scenes? Let me know!
