Chapter 5
After the ordeal with the Quincy girls, Kisuke and cat Yoruichi both arrived at the area of the battle spot. They saw it was in pristine condition, despite the clashing Reiatsu's that Kisuke and Yoruichi felt.
"Someone cleans up quick." Yoruichi notes.
Kisuke nods, stroking his chin. "Hmmm, I'm having a little trouble trying to find who it was that was fighting here. I can feel…ooh, Quincy from what I can tell, but the other…one is Shinigami, one is one I can't confirm, and the final one who fought…I don't know, it almost feels like me."
Yoruichi's mind races. "Aizen?"
"But why would he want to pretend to be me? Nothing here would've drawn attention to the Soul Society, and there's nothing that has happened from what I can tell…no, I think I know who this has to be. Though I'm surprised he chose my Reiatsu…unless he wanted me to know it was him. The Visored mentioned…ooh its my son~"
Yoruichi was visibly stunned, ruminating in her mind about what was going on. "Zensuke?"
"He must be busy, so he couldn't come directly and tell us. Whatever happened with these Quincy, he must be dealing with that…though if he's making himself aware of us now, something must've changed."
Yoruichi sharpened her eyes. "I never liked what happened that day either, Kisuke. But he more than survived, he thrived."
Kisuke's face rest with unease. "He did, its a shame I didn't get to see it. I wanted to be the one who presented his Captains haori to him. I knew he'd make Captain, even when he was a child. Wicked smart, skilled, and kind…"
Seeing Kisuke's face lowering, Yoruichi gained understanding in her eyes, patting his back. "Can't worry about the past, we've got Aizen to deal with."
Kisuke lamented on his thoughts for a few moments, then tossed his eyes to the sky. "Yes, you're right~ First, got to find him. I wonder what he's going to say…I wish he didn't have to be involved with all of this…"
"He's no child anymore, Kisuke." Yoruichi said with a grin. "According to Hiyori, he's grown very nicely~"
Kisuke chuckled lightly. "He gets his swagger from me, so of course~"
Yoruichi snorts, Kisuke's shocked eyes land on Yoruichi.
Yoruichi grimaces, turning her neck to the side. "Gotta go and find him, I'll check the west. See you soon."
Kisuke watched as she left with her paws dashing fast across the top of houses.
As she disappeared, Kisuke puts his head to high to the sky, looking as the sun was beginning to set.
Meanwhile, arriving back at Orihime's home after having a nice meal, both Rukia and Orihime had so many questions for the young man.
Zensuke wanted to answer everything that he could, since now they were in Karakura, they'd be involved.
Sitting down in Orihime's living room, the young orange haired girl went to get them all drinks, while Rukia sat before Zensuke, millions of thoughts rummaging around in her mind about what happened, and what Zensuke said about their levels of power.
"Rukia-chan, you okay? You've been a little quiet since before, still thinking about the Quincy?"
At Zensuke's question, Rukia paused, and thought about it.
"Yes, I keep wondering about them. Though Captain, may I ask you a question?"
"Sure~"
"Then…the Quincy girls, they have a legit reason to hate Shinigami, correct? You mentioned before bad blood, what does that entail exactly?"
Zensuke nods, and waited for Orihime to come.
She did moments later, handing them drinks, and sat down beside Zensuke.
"Okay, so Quincy's are humans essentially, with spiritual powers, but different to the likes of Orihime-chan. And as I'm sure you can tell, they possess superhuman qualities way above a normal human."
Rukia inclines her neck. "That girl, Bambietta, she used a bow and arrow with me. But her bow…I don't know what she was doing, spiritual power maybe?"
"Quincy have the natural ability to manipulate Reishi on levels higher than Shinigami, and combining the Reishi around with her innate spiritual powers, they're able to form weapons like bows, arrows, and other weapons, such as swords, spears, things like that. They even have their own spells, and such."
"You mentioned, Blut? Zen-chan, what is that?" Orihime questioned.
"Blut, is the ability to flow Reishi directly into the Quincy's blood vessels. Two forms exist. Blut Vene, and Blut Arterie. The former is defensive, allowing them to survive otherwise fatal attacks with little to no injuries. Of course its not infallible, and there are ways around it and with enough force, you can break through it. The other is the offence technique, increasing the damaging output to greater heights, letting them achieve levels of destructive force they usually couldn't without. Though they do have these strange abilities, but from what I could tell, it didn't seem to be an application of Blut."
Rukia nods with surprise. "So, they didn't use it, right?"
"They didn't from what I saw, I was surprised, but maybe with those strange abilities they used, they didn't feel the need, or they felt more confident using those strange powers. I wish we learned what they were called."
Rukia folds her arms. "Where did these strange powers come from then?"
"I know in the past, there was a unique Quincy that could share power or something to others, perhaps its related to that. Though according to what I have read, that guy should be dead…so maybe an ancestor, or they found some secret Quincy text that allowed them to access these powers, I'd love to know just as much as you girls."
Rukia put her head back. "So, can you tell us the history of Quincy, Captain?"
Zensuke nods, and begins explaining.
He explains the history as best he knew it, including when Shinigami ended up killing the Quincy.
"You see, when they kill Hollows, unlike our swords that purify them, the Quincy destroy the souls. Think of it like a scale, if the balance is tipped too much on one side, then it'll come falling down. And that's what would happen to the worlds."
Orihime put a hand to her mouth. "So they were killed because of that?"
"A good chunk of them yeah. Some survived, and went onto have families, and there are Quincy in the world today, but far less than that act 200 years ago. The Shinigami at the time believed they didn't have a choice, I wish it hadn't come to that. I couldn't exactly blame Bambietta-san if her mindset is to be distrustful of Shinigami, considering what happened. Though Quincy aren't all innocent either."
Rukia cocks an eyebrow up. "What do you mean?"
"From what I've read and heard, about a 1000 years ago, the Quincy invaded the Soul Society, with that man who could share power. They called themselves the Litchtreich."
Rukia gasps. "Whoa, I hadn't heard of this…"
"Its not taught in the Academy about Quincy. But yeah, Old Man Yamamoto and the Captains of that era put a stop to them, killing lots of them from what I understand. Now mostly the Quincy stay in hiding. Its difficult to think about, though I wish we could've come to an understanding back then to help the Quincy not tip the balance, maybe now it'll be different, maybe we could make that difference here."
Rukia's smile grows. "I like the sound of that Captain. We can build a bridge between us."
Zensuke nods strongly. "Exactly. Obviously, I don't want them to be in danger, but I also wont let them endanger you two either, so I'll make sure you're safe, and you can continue your duties Rukia-chan."
Rukia gave a thankful nod. "Captain, do you have to return to the Soul Society?"
"I do soon, though they wont miss me right now~"
Rukia tilts her head, wondering what that meant…
Meanwhile, within Soul Society, Mayuri sat within a bush outside Squad 5 barracks, after having followed fake Zensuke around for a while, and now saw that he was just sat with Aizen, simply enjoying tea together, confusing and angering him.
He called Nemu over, and when she came, she saw Mayuri half sticking out of a bush, since he was taller than it, people walking by, and gave Mayuri curious eyes as he kept saying "Damn it, I can't hear what they're saying." and "Captain, in the name of science, I shall surpass you!" among other things.
Nemu drew breath, and walked closer.
"Mayuri-sama, I have arrived." Nemu's voice alerts Mayuri.
Mayuri pulls her to the bush. "Did you find any information about him that I could use?"
Nemu blinks, looking at the fake Zensuke, and then back to Mayuri, who kept laser focused before them. "Mayuri-sama, I have information on Zensuke-sama. However, he is our Captain, I do not wish to cause harm to him."
Mayuri kept being surprised by Nemu lately, no he thought it had been building for a while now. "I'm trying to work out what he's doing, I have no intention of plotting against him right now Nemu. Do you not understand what he represents to me?"
Nemu stayed silent, not sure what Mayuri meant.
Mayuri sighed, his eyes going to the fake Zensuke, and watched him chuckling together with Aizen.
"What he is Nemu, is a rival. Someone that has a brilliant mind, someone that has the ability to be on my level, and challenge me. I hate his father, and over time, I've come to tolerate our dear Captain, but he's still someone I wish to surpass, Nemu."
Nemu was surprised to hear Mayuri speak like that with her, and also regarding Zensuke.
She didn't usually hear positive things coming from Mayuri about Zensuke.
She wondered what was different now, that he was saying it.
"Mayuri-sama, are you admitting to myself that you like Zensuke-sama?"
Mayuri was taken aback, and for a moment, a flash of unsure swept over him, but then he adopts a scowl. "He's someone I have to surpass, Nemu! I don't know what he's doing with Aizen right now, but I've got to work on surpassing him! Stay here, and tell me everything that goes on with them, I'm going back to the lab, and I'm going to continue my Superhuman Drug, maybe that'll be the invention that shall surpass him!"
Nemu watched Mayuri take off.
Nemu thought she got the answer she had desired, as her eyes shift back to the fake Zensuke, and to Aizen.
She watched silently for a few moments, then she casually approached, as she liked being with her Captain.
"Aah Nemu-san, what's going on~?" Fake Zensuke, who had a part of Zensuke's soul and would therefore get all the memories later, asked her, and to Nemu, it felt like she was speaking to the true authentic Zensuke, even Aizen didn't seem to question it either.
"Captain, Mayuri-sama-"
"Was spying, I know~"
Nemu inclines. "May I sit with you?"
Fake Zensuke pats the side of him. "Pull up a cushion, we were just discussing of a perhaps meeting between our Squads, like a joint training session."
"We've always had close ties, and have done this before, though this time I'm sure we could make the event a good one." Aizen muses.
Fake Zensuke chuckled. "Gonna set Mayuri-san up against Momo-chan? Because I'd not let that happen~"
"No, that would be too cruel of a punishment."
Fake Zensuke snorts at Aizen's answer. "We could think of something to make it exciting for the Squads, I'm sure~"
Nemu watched, and read the room between the two men.
Though she didn't understand the full dynamics between them, Nemu did like to see her Captain being so cheerful and friendly with all around, making her recall a memory stored away deep within her heart.
A small time later in the Human World, Rukia went to go and take a relaxing bath after the stressful day she had, while Zensuke was finishing some touches upon some barriers around the house so Orihime and Rukia would be as protected as he could do without being there himself.
While doing so in the gardens, Zensuke captured the sight of a black cat running through the night at a distance.
Elegant, graceful, the cats speed was something to be marveled at.
She didn't look his way, but Zensuke noted that it looked as if she was searching for something, or someone.
"Yoruichi-san, I'll see you very soon. I still have to speak to father about the situation with Sosuke-san, better now than ever. From what I can tell, it seems Sosuke-sans going to go for his plan according to what info I could gather…"
As he thought about it, Zensuke nearly finished the technique, Yoruichi still searching for him endlessly.
She leapt across a building as her eyes naturally drag themselves down the street to her right.
She looked across from house to house, looking towards Orihime's house.
When she did, the cats face became visibly stunned, looking at Zensuke's golden blonde hair, and seeing his sky blue eyes, twinkling like diamonds, to Yoruichi it looked very nice.
Soon enough, Orihime came to join him, hovering to his right hand side. Zensuke took his eyes from Yoruichi, and focused in on Orihime, while Yoruichi kept back, yet her gaze lingered on the young Shinigami.
"Hey Zen-chan, busy?"
"Never too busy to speak, something on your mind?"
Orihime shakes her head. "Nope, I'm just glad to see you~"
"Me too, sorry its been a week or so, hectic in that Soul Society with those crazy people~"
"I'm sure being a Captain must be difficult~" Orihime sings out, a graceful smile on her face.
"It can be, but its also something I've wanted since I was a kid, so I'm happy enough~" Zensuke retorts, adding his formula to the barrier space he was creating.
"Ooh, from the sounds of it, its super wild~" Orihime bends to his level. "So, are you okay Zen-chan? Not taking on too many duties, right?"
"Sometimes~ Though, I do take nice relaxing breaks~" As he spoke, he fished into his pocket, and pulled out some seeds. "I managed to make those flowers you like. Watch these fast growing flowers at work~"
Zensuke tossed the seeds onto the grass.
Orihime watched with intrigue as Zensuke's plant seeds stuck into the ground, being absorbed into the soil.
Moments later, she saw buds beginning to sprout from the very earth itself.
She soon saw mixtures of pinks, yellows, whites, purples, even reds and blues.
All different types of flowers grew from the ground, filling the garden in a tranquil beauty.
Orihime's cheeks flashed red as she observed the flowers, in the moonlight shining down on them, it looked rather beautiful.
"Wow, they're so pretty~" Orihime sang out, showing her enthused smile.
"Science can be quite beautiful, huh?" Zensuke mused, as he admired the flowers.
"Yes, I love Zen-chan's brand of science~" Zensuke gave amused eyes, as Orihime leans closer. "Zen-chan, can I ask you a question?" Zensuke nods. "Before, on the way back, you seemed to have a serious face for a second, was it about the Quincy?"
"No, it wasn't about them. It was…truthfully, it was because of my father."
Orihime blinks her surprise. "Your father?"
"Been quite a while since I've seen him...things happened in the past, much to unpack." Zensuke replies, flowing his fingers through his blonde locks.
Orihime furrows her eyebrows, sensing his tone being a little distant all of a sudden. "Do you want to see him?"
"Truthfully...I care for my father, yet there are things we'll have to talk about. Much to discuss."
Orihime understood, sensing the conflict within Zensuke, and surprised him when her arms flowed around his neck.
Her chest crushed into his face, as she held his head within her embrace.
"You're very kind…" As he spoke, he exhales. "Seems like the Quincy girls are coming…two of them in fact. Huh, I wonder why only two would come? Trap…no, the other three seem to be back at their hideout from what I can tell."
"Is it the same girls?" Orihime asks.
Zensuke shakes his head. "No, its two of the others. It seems they haven't found our location, but making it pretty obvious where they are by flaring their Reiatsu, its like a homing beacon honestly."
"I'll go and get Kuchiki-san!" Orihime dashed off inside.
Zensuke didn't take chances, and began preparing.
Rukia came running out, with Orihime staying close to Zensuke, the three travelled out of the home, and went towards the two Quincy, as they knew that it would be best to see what's going on with them now.
Zensuke saw Liltotto, and Giselle, standing in the middle of the park, almost as if they were waiting for them.
"This seems a little ominous. Though they look like ordinary girls, now that I'm getting the chance to sense them again Captain, you were right in the fact that they possess strong levels of Reiatsu."
"Be careful." Orihime whispered.
"We will, don't worry." Zensuke begins forward.
The others follow after him.
When noting Zensuke approaching them, Liltotto and Giselle stand up.
Liltotto takes a few steps forward, and locks eyes with Zensuke, who does the same thing with the young man.
"You're Zensuke Urahara, correct?"
"That's me. Are you Liltotto-san?"
Liltotto nods. "How'd you know?"
"Pink haired girl told me. Meni, is it?"
"Meni is what we call her. Before we begin, I have to offer an apology for what happened with Bambietta, she can be a troublesome girl, and she tries to do crazy things sometimes without thinking."
As Liltotto spoke, Giselle moves behind the small girl…and begins dancing the Macarena.
Zensuke and Rukia were bewildered she would do such a thing.
But at the same time, Zensuke thought it was pretty funny, and tried to keep his face from breaking into a smile.
Orihime from a distance giggled to herself.
Rukia was trying to work out what the heck was going on.
Liltotto twitched an eyebrow. "Gigi, I know you're dancing behind me."
"Ooh, its good to go with the flow, isn't it? Yeah, its always a good time, isn't it?" Giselle guffawed, thumbing locks of her long hair.
Liltotto exhaled, palming her face. "Either way, I'm glad you got our calling card, we searched, but couldn't find you. So, I thought that this would be for the best. To be honest, when your name was mentioned, I was surprised."
"So you know of me?" Zensuke questions.
"Yes, you're the Shinigami that gave Quincy sanctuary from a mad man."
Rukia looked confused. "A mad man?"
"Mayuri-san." Zensuke sighed.
Liltotto nods. "You saved Quincy lives, you gave us a chance to live in the Human World without being disturbed by Hollows, and the likes. You have my thanks, I lived a more peaceful childhood where I came from thanks to your efforts."
Zensuke blushed a little at her sincerity. "Well, I'm glad I was able to do that for you Quincy. I'm sorry that the situation is as it is right now, but its good to see Quincy thriving in this era."
"They are. We aren't as we used to be, but there's normal Quincy living normal lives thanks to your efforts. Shinigami, we were told to fear and hate you, but I recall from that time, that a blonde haired Shinigami came, and saved us from the mad man."
"Totally have our thanks!" Giselle grins, thrusting out her two thumbs. "Ooh, you are a cutie~ Say, say, wanna be friends~!?"
Orihime's heart was touched by seeing the girls gratitude on her face.
Liltotto pulls closer. "To be honest, I have mixed feelings on Shinigami. I don't actively hate them like others in my group do, but I have seen some shady ones in my life, I'm sure many could say the same about the Quincy, so I'd hope, you'd be able to converse with me, so we all can get along, and not fight one another."
Zensuke recalled Meninas saying about Liltotto she was the voice of reason in their group, he could see why. She wasn't actively saying the Quincy are saints, yet she wasn't also violently hating the Shinigami either, managing to see both sides.
"I'm glad to hear that, because I don't see why we can't get along with one another."
Liltotto nods. "Then, lets talk to resolve the issues. Though, in advance, I'm sorry about Bambietta, she's hot headed, a bit crazy, though she is a loyal friend, and she is someone we like having around."
"No harm was done." Zensuke said, Rukia agreed. "Though to be honest, I worry she'll try it again, and I don't want to leave Rukia-chan here in fear of being attacked."
Liltotto reasonably nods her head. "I'll make sure she doesn't do anything crazy."
Zensuke chuckled. "Have that authority huh?"
"She's basically like the smart one behind us all~ Lil will kick major butt~" Giselle grins. "Bambi is the leader, but Lil here is someone we usually go to whenever we have problems, or if we need solutions. So like, the brains behind the operation~"
Zensuke smiled softly. "Right, I'm glad to hear that~"
Rukia felt the same, and could see now Zensuke's words coming to fruition, that Quincy and Shinigami didn't have to be at odds with one another.
Meanwhile, Bambietta came down the stairs to their new place, having taken a shower after the fight with Rukia and Zensuke, thoughts tumbling around in her mind, she wasn't able to fully focus herself.
Though she was surprised when she saw that only Candice and Meninas were stationed downstairs.
"Eh? What happened with Lil, and Gigi? Did they go and get some food? I'm starving."
Candice shrugged. "Don't know, they went out like an hour ago, and we don't know where they went. I think they've gone to get themselves food, and knowing Lil, she wont bring us any back because of her gluttonous side."
Bambietta sighed. "That's why we don't let Lil go and get food, we usually don't end up with any. Though Gigi is with her…she might even make zombies along the way, which now on reflection with the Shinigami Captain, might not be the best idea."
Candice suppresses a snort, while Meninas exhales. "Have you calmed down Bambi? Those Shinigami rallied you up before, didn't they?"
Bambietta folds her arms. "You can say that again, I didn't think it would be so bad. But when I saw her, I couldn't hold back my feelings, and I ended up shooting my powers. Then that Captain guy turned up, I wonder what his deal is? His name, sounded familiar to me, can't place it though."
Candice shrugged. "Maybe we should ask His Majesty about what we're supposed to do here. If this Captain guy is strong, then wouldn't it be best to avoid it? I know we're not pushovers, but we didn't receive our new powers until all that long ago."
Bambietta wore a bitter expression as if she had eaten a bug. "I get what you mean, I've thought about it myself. But if we just go and run to His Majesty now, then he's going to see us as failures. Our goals can be achieved if we're with him."
Bambietta was assured of this.
Just then, Bambietta's senses kicked up when she felt Liltotto and Giselle interacting with a power.
"Shit, it feels like Lil and Gigi are being confronted. We've got to go…no, you two stay here, if this is a trap then you can come and help us. I shall go, and finish this situation off now, alright girls?"
Candice and Meninas look to one another, as Bambietta takes off.
Meanwhile, Zensuke and the others spoke with Liltotto, and Giselle, so they could come to an understanding. Progress was being made as the girls and lone guy spoke for well over five minutes, soon enough having a laugh together, even the usual stoic Liltotto seemed to crack smiles now and then.
As they talked, Zensuke sensed Bambietta coming fast approaching.
So he alerts the others, Liltotto slapped herself in the head. "Sorry, she's about to assume things, she usually jumps to conclusions. If it isn't a bother, you wont hold this against us, right?"
"No, of course not. So, she'll jump to conclusions, huh."
"Ooh she will." Liltotto retorts, sighing a little. "She'll probably think you're trying to coerce us or something. She is smart, but she also gets rallied up in emotion from time to time, when she thinks her friends are in danger. As for Candy, she gets pissed off if you mention her bad hair days or something, she's more difficult in dealing with. She also comes on to attractive men, good luck."
Zensuke suppresses a little snort. "Well, that's not a bad reason to get angry, though probably should find a way to curb that in case she picks a fight with the wrong person."
Liltotto nods strongly. "I've been telling her for years, maybe you can tell her."
Zensuke chuckled lightly. "I'll see what I can do."
"She is a fast one, that Bambi~ Jumping to conclusions, I could always make sure she stops doing the bad thing~" Giselle giggles.
Zensuke glances at the direction Bambietta was coming, and waited.
A minute later, she appeared, hovering in the sky, and her hand aimed down, her Reishi infusing bombs getting ready to fire at the young group below her.
"Gigi! Lil! Don't worry, I wont let the Shinigami shits do anything!"
Liltotto sighed. "See? Conclusions."
Zensuke sweat dropped, as Bambietta churns her powers, unleashing her Reishi to explode them.
Liltotto called out "Bambi stop it." but the girl didn't pay any heed to her words, and followed through with her attack.
However, Zensuke snapped his fingers, forming a barrier the size of his hand, and launches it upwards, connecting it with Bambietta's Reishi, and moments later, it detonated into a huge explosion in the sky.
"I see, so she doesn't control what the Reishi infects, and doesn't when she fires it. That's good to know, works in my favour. Though maybe that could be refined and controlled…" Zensuke observed, as he snaps his fingers, generating barriers all around the area so the humans wouldn't be dragged up into this.
"Captain, are you going to face her?" Rukia asks seriously.
Zensuke nods. "I think its probably best if I do, so we can settle this, I'd not want anyone else to get hurt. While I'm doing so Rukia-chan, keep eyes out for any potential hidden movements. I think I can handle this current version of Bambietta-san, but we don't know what else she might have in store."
"Understood, Captain." Rukia bows her head, and begins searching around with her eyes inspecting everything.
Bambietta, high in the air, snaps her hand to the side, and summons a sword of Reishi, which looked rather like a metal sword. She twirled the curved blade in her hand, looking ready to come after Zensuke.
"So, you're gonna be my opponent, are you dear Captain? I'm actually okay with that, because I wanted to defeat you after the last time we met…a few hours ago." Zensuke snickers as Bambietta huffs. "Don't worry Shinigami boy, I'll make it quick, you wont feel a thing after I detonate your entire body apart. Its okay."
Zensuke shrugged. "Well that's considerate of you, but I'd hope you don't have to do that. Your friends, and I were just getting acquainted with one another. We were coming to nice understandings, if you'll listen to me then we can come to peace, okay?"
Bambietta adopts a dark scowl. "You're going to lie to me like that?! They're Quincy, you're a Shinigami, don't even think for a moment you're going to be able to defeat me like this! I'll finish you off before you can even blink!"
Zensuke withdrew his sword, and angled it at the young woman. "I don't want to fight you."
"Well, I want to fight you!" Bambietta threw caution to the wind, and launches herself at Zensuke.
She came at Zensuke with a few slashes, left and right, she came at Zensuke wildly.
Though Zensuke took out his blade, and parried each strike, blades sparking between them, and then thrust his blade out, causing it to go flying out of Bambietta's hands.
"What the..."
"Saw an opening."
Bambietta growls in disdain, while Liltotto and Giselle both sigh at the aggression she was using.
"Alright, you're good I admit. However, it doesn't mean him out of tricks yet!"
Bambietta cups her fingers, and summons her orbs of Reishi.
Zensuke watches, as she throws orbs at him, and they rapidly come at him.
The speed wasn't bad, Zensuke could see that a Captain who didn't have the best Flash Step would be caught in these, and could be blown away despite her lack of precision with her abilities, so he had to commend her for that.
Zensuke avoids them with his speedy movements, as bombs land on the ground, detonating all over the area, shaking the very earth with how they were detonating together.
Bambietta noticed that the others were being saved by his barriers.
"Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!" So Bambietta summoned her explosive powers all around her.
It grew into a dome shaped sphere of explosive energy all around her being, and spread it out.
The power she emitted caused Zensuke to furrow his brows, looking to the others and knew they'd be in danger if they were caught in that.
So Zensuke thrust his hand out, and summoned his Kido skills to contain such a force.
"Bakudo 73, Tozansho!"
Using his Kido, Zensuke summoned an inverted blue pyramid, containing the young woman as the explosive power blasted outwards, sending such destructive forces out Zensuke was honestly impressed by her power.
He thought "With some training, she'd be very formidable. She isn't stupid, she's already going for another attack through the smoke." but for now was glad that it was enough to contain the explosive power Bambietta had, so no one was dragged into her attack.
As Zensuke predicted, as his barrier vanished, he saw an orb coming out of the smoke, and went for Zensuke.
However, it detonated in the air when Bambietta shot it with an arrow, creating even more smoke all around him.
He thought "Very good." as he was getting into the battle.
While he wasn't as battle crazy as the likes of Kenpachi, he did have to admit he did like seeing how people used their abilities, and he though Bambietta wasn't doing a bad job for her level of skill.
"Shit…" Suddenly, Bambietta felt a presence behind her.
She looked, and saw Zensuke was stood there, his speed surprising her a good deal.
"Its probably best if we don't do things like this."
Bambietta's face turned a mix of reds, blushing and also red with annoyance.
His blade was held to his side, but Bambietta felt that if she made a move, then she'd probably be stopped.
So she conceited, and pulled back. "…Fine, I surrender, are you going to kill me-"
"I'm not going to kill you." Zensuke spoke up, Bambietta turning her neck, seeing his charming smile aimed at her. "Jumping to conclusions, Bambietta-san~"
Bambietta huffs. "About you with my friends? Damn right I am, Shinigami cannot be trusted! I mean, that girl lied, and said she didn't even know who we were!"
"She didn't know, no Shinigami has been taught about Quincy for a long time." Zensuke explained. "Rukia-chan knows now though, and she doesn't want to fight with you, neither do I. Your friends, and I were coming to a conclusion that we both could be here."
Bambietta exhaled, believing that she wasn't going to win this now, had to agree.
She went together with Zensuke to Liltotto and Giselle.
When Liltotto looked at her, Bambietta felt a cold chill run down her spine.
"I'm going to give you a little lesson. Do you remember when we were younger, and were told that a mad man was going to come?"
"Yeah, it was a psycho Shinigami, he had been trying to find other Quincy, but he was stopped. But then he found our group, and he was going to do crazy shit like experiments, and dissections, I'll never forget that."
"Well, I don't know if you remember, but another Shinigami came, and that's him right there. He stopped that mad man, and gave the Quincy's we lived with a chance to live peacefully. And did we ever see that crazy Shinigami again? No, because he saved us."
Bambietta's shocked eyes land on Zensuke. "You're him?"
"That's me." Zensuke replied.
Bambietta pulls back, shock clear on her face.
She ruminated in her mind what was going on.
"…I didn't realize you were that person. We were young back then, and yet…damn, you stopped that crazy bastard. Well, you've got my thanks in that."
Rukia was stunned Bambietta said that.
But she was pleasantly surprised that she did.
Zensuke adopts a kind smile. "Its fine, I just stopped him from doing his crazy crap. I'm sorry that he was trying to do mad shit in the first place. Though from what Liltotto-sans been saying, it seems you've been able to live a little more peacefully."
Bambietta turned her head to the side, and felt a calmness on her face. "We wont attack Shinigami, here."
Liltotto furrows her eyebrows, wondering if Bambietta would truly honour that.
Zensuke thought the same, but carried on as if he was taking her word for it, even if in the back of his mind was keeping a cautious eye.
"That would be great, Shinigami and Quincy don't have to be at war here, and that crazy Shinigami that came for you, don't worry about him, I made sure he faced the appropriate punishment for his actions, and what he was going to do."
Bambietta nods. "I'm glad. Now…well, Hollows attack, and we will have to defend ourselves, obviously. But, I wont actively go in the way of that Shinigami beside you. Or anyone else you say is with you. Though understand, I came across Shinigami as a kid, and I can't simply get over my feelings so quickly."
Zensuke nods. "I wouldn't expect you too either. All we're asking for is a chance, so we can show each other we can live peacefully. And hey, those abilities you have, I could give you some tips about them if you're willing to share. My offer is still open, it extends to all of you~"
"What would you get out of it?" Bambietta inquired.
"What I'd get is a chance to study unique abilities, and in turn perhaps make some friends. While the scientist in me is calling out to learn as much as possible, its your girls decision, I could help you girls with some Quincy abilities, I've studied Quincy's before, and learned a few techniques, like Blut, Ransotengai, and others."
Liltotto stroked her chin in thought. "Not a bad idea. Could be a chance to learn from each other."
Giselle grins. "If Lil is saying it, then I'm all for it~ I'm sure Candy will be up for it, she's always had a thing for blondes~"
Zensuke blinked as Giselle winked at him.
"We'll think about it." Bambietta actually had to admit that she did like that idea, even if her thoughts about her mission began clouding her mind a little more the more she thought about it.
Zensuke then spoke with the Quincy for a short time, and as he did, Rukia hoped that this was the beginning of them finding a nice peace between them, finding what something they could have in common that could bond them.
When they finished, the Quincy's left the area, with a promise they'd meet up pretty soon, and gave them contact information.
Once they left, Rukia folds her arms, unease spreading on her face. "Are we sure she's going to keep to that?"
"Truthfully, I don't know. I think Liltotto-san is on our side, Giselle-san seems to be as well. Bambietta-san, I think there's something going on. Something that's causing a war inside of her. As we spoke, I saw moments of genuineness, yet at the same time, she looked as if realization dawned on her, and she'd back-peddled."
"Ooh I saw that too. I wonder what it is? Maybe her family had a hatred for Shinigami, and she can't let it go." Orihime posed.
Zensuke hums in thought. "Its not a bad deduction. Ooh, I hope they take me up on the offer to study them~"
Rukia cracked a smile. "Always a scientist aren't you Captain?"
Zensuke winks cheerfully. "Yup, always want to learn and evolve. And these powers, I'd love to see how they work, and what limits they have, if there are anything else about them, or if they can be combined with other abilities~ Aaah, I'm sure its going to be amazing~"
Orihime was happy to see Zensuke go into what she calls 'scientist mode', and his renewed excitement at seeing the Quincy's powers.
Rukia adopts a small smile. "I'm glad that we've managed to stop the Quincy for a short time, I can get back to work and slay some Hollows without having to worry about Quincy girls exploding me."
Zensuke chuckled. "You're right, hopefully the rest is a breeze. But never let your guard down, just in case. And besides, you can always contact me if you need me, it seems like I'm going to be around a good time anyway."
Orihime was so happy to hear that she'd be able to spend more time with Zensuke.
Rukia was as well.
Zensuke stretches his body. "I guess I'll have to head back soon, and check on things. But I'll make sure you girls get back home~"
Orihime and Rukia thanked him, and all left together.
The Quincy girls returned back to their base, Candice and Meninas looked on as Bambietta runs a hand through her hair.
"Well, this has complicated things."
Candice raised a brow. "What has?"
Liltotto sighed, and explained what had happened.
Afterwards, Candice flashes a grin. "I missed all this...no, next time I get to see him!"
Liltotto rolled her eyes. "Why would His Majesty send us here? Does he know Zensuke Urahara is here?"
"He must do." Bambietta reasoned.
"So why did he send us here then?" Liltotto asks once more.
Bambietta folds her arms resolutely. "I don't know. We'll have to talk to His Majesty to find out...but if we do, what will he say to us? We can't be failures, we were granted these powers by him, but this does complicate matters a good deal. Either way, we'll have to think of something, as if we simply do nothing, what's to say what happens to us?"
Giselle plays with her lower lip. "I don't know what we're gonna do, but I think we should be careful. But, if anyone does get hurt, I'll be happy to turn you into a Zombie~"
Liltotto grimaced. "I agree we should be careful, but I don't think that Zensuke Urahara would turn on us, he saved Quincy lives from a madman, who without could've done heinous things, but didn't, and according to the Daten..." Liltotto looked at the blank faces of the others. "Did anyone else read the Daten?" Giselle thrust up her hand, but the others didn't, they just stared at Liltotto with blank faces, so she sighed and carried on. "Okay, according to the Daten, His Majesty explicitly said Zensuke Urahara is a Shinigami who has a no contact order until further notice. And personally, I don't want to fight him, even if he wasn't acknowledged by His Majesty."
"Neither do I, he's really cute." Giselle grins, Liltotto fires a look at her, so she sticks out her tongue playfully. "And he's totally on Quincy side, not many Shinigami can say that, can they? Like Lil said, he stopped that madman, and we got to live relatively Hollow free and madman free after that~ Plus he said he punished him, I wonder what he did~?"
Bambietta slowly nods. "We need to do something though, quick. If His Majesty finds out I fought him, and if it says in the Daten, a no contact order...shit."
"You were, in your own way, trying to defend us." Meninas assured. "And I doubt the Shinigami's gonna sing it from the rooftop either, considering he helped Quincy live normally."
Liltotto agreed. "She's right, but we best come up with a plan soon, or else...who knows what's going to happen."
Bambietta and the others give a sense of unease, wondering what their next move was...
Once everyone was gone home for the evening, Zensuke returned back to the park, put his arms behind his back, looking rather sweetly to the sky.
"You can come out now, Yoruichi-san~"
As soon as he said it, a black cat appeared at his feet.
The cats eyes went up to Zensuke's, and he in turn looked down towards her with a fond look on his face.
"Well, as I live and breathe, looks like you are here. Looking rather handsome I see~" Yoruichi stands on her hind legs, and her body began going through a transformation.
As she did, Zensuke saw that a very beautiful woman emerged, like how he remembered her.
Though, she also was completely naked, thick smoke covering her more private areas, a teasing grin on her face.
"Like what you see, Zensuke-kun~? Maybe we could find somewhere a little private to catch up?"
Zensuke's cheeks flushed, looking to the beauty of Yoruichi as she approached, her slender finger trailing up and down his chest.
"Still the best at teasing me I see Yoruichi-san. Or would you prefer former Captain?"
"Lets go with Yoruichi, you're the Captain now. Though, who says I'm teasing~?" Zensuke adopts a small smile, as Yoruichi's fingers gently brush his face. "Be honest, what's it like to have Mayuri as a Lieutenant?"
Zensuke paused, and pondered on how to even answer that.
"Lets just say we have a weird friendship dynamic." Yoruichi snorts. "Though, I'm glad to see that you're alright. Seeing you like this…" Zensuke released a happy breath, examining the woman before his very eyes. "…Its like a dream, Yoruichi-san~ I missed you, so much. I wish...we could've stayed together, but I understand why you had to leave...still, seeing you like this...its a dream come true, Yoruichi-san."
Yoruichi put a hand to her chest, hearing the true emotion in his voice, moving closer, and embraced the young man tightly.
He did the same thing, neither letting go of one another.
They stayed in their embrace for minutes.
It had been so long, neither wished to part from the other.
To soak in the goodness of meeting one another after so long.
But reality didn't give them the time that they wished to have, and mutually pulled away, their eyes meeting one another in a gentle, and sweet gaze.
"So, you want to see your father?" Yoruichi asks, then notices his eyes shifting to the side. "Something wrong?"
"Its just been a long time. Got many things I wanna say, I'm sure he does as well. We've got Sosuke-san to deal with among other things, many things we've gotta discuss." Zensuke exhaled a breath he didn't know he was holding. "Okay, I'm ready to go and see the old man now. Though, are you going to put on clothes?"
Yoruichi smirked. "No one else can see us, unless they're spiritually aware, besides I wanted to see my cute former students reactions~"
"Congrats, you've made me feel many things~" Zensuke joked back.
Yoruichi lifts a flirty brow. "Well, we'll have plenty of time to catch up, and we can feel things together~"
"Is that a promise~?" Zensuke teased back, Yoruichi's cheeks turning a scarlet red.
"Could be, we'll have to see where the evening takes us~" Yoruichi's body shrinks down into that of a cat, and leaps onto his shoulder, nuzzling against his cheek.
Zensuke pets her head, and headed towards Kisuke's location.
They arrived at a shops door, a Candy shop in fact. The sliding door was closed, and the dust on the ground was being moved with each footstep he took.
Zensuke felt his heart slamming in his chest, his eyes staying on the door before him.
Yoruichi stood beside him, seeing his hand going on, so her paw pressed on the side of his face.
"Time to go inside."
Zensuke looked back to Yoruichi, nodding a single time.
"Yeah, time to go inside."
Then, when he opened the door, Zensuke stepped inside, and came face to face with his father.
Kisuke looked back at him, and Zensuke was shocked when he saw Kisuke eyes on him, yet held no visible expression.
Zensuke himself wasn't sure what to make of such a look from his father.
This was a long awaited reunion.
This was something Zensuke had played in his head over and over, and he wasn't sure how it was going to go.
"Father, its been a long time. You, look well..." Kisuke said nothing, his face still unreadable, Zensuke in turn exhales. "...We have a lot to talk about. We've got to speak about the Hogyoku, what Sosuke-san is planning..."
Before he could go any further, Kisuke stood up tall, and looked over Zensuke.
He came close to the young man, still not uttering a word.
Zensuke pondered what he was thinking, as for once, he didn't know what was going to happen.
But then, Zensuke became surprised when Kisuke came into a breath away from him.
A small smile soon graced Kisuke's face.
"Look at you, you've gotten so tall. Captains haori, suits you. I like the golden trim, gives it a flare."
Zensuke blinks in surprise. "Father, I'm..."
Before he could continue Zensuke was caught off guard as Kisuke hugged him.
"Welcome home, Zensuke."
Zensuke wasn't expecting it.
Kisuke usually wasn't this emotional, yet right now, it felt right.
He almost thought it was a dream.
But it was his reality, his father hugged him so tightly, and it warmed Zensuke's heart.
So Zensuke hugged his father back, after not seeing one another for so many years, they were reunited once more...

So this chapter had a few things going on, with Zensuke explaining about the Quincy to Rukia and Orihime. Giselle and Liltotto coming to see Zensuke and the others, Bambietta getting the wrong idea, and now is unsure of what to do, with realizing who he was to the Quincy, and her loyalty to her King, the same for the others as they have a mission, but now don't know what their true mission was.
Then at the end, Zensuke and Yoruichi had a heartfelt reunion, and then Kisuke and Zensuke finally came together after many years apart, though with much to discuss, Kisuke's glad to see his son once more.
