As Vegeta stared at Granolah's lifeless body in his arms, he remembered a conversation he had with Bulma when he decided to agree to live with her on Earth.
"So why did you agree on this? Did you somehow pity me?" she asked.
Vegeta snorted at her lightly, "Pity you? Why should I?"
Bulma shrugged her shoulders, looking away, "Deities like yourself usually pity us mortals."
"Not all deities are like that. I am the God of Destruction and I don't feel anything aside from my own anger and hatred, which are necessary for me to focus on my duties well. I see mortals as just mere things. Think of this Universe as my home and I decide which things stay to exist and I eliminate those that are useless to me in order to make it the best. So I don't pity mortals, much less an insignificant and powerless human like yourself."
"But aren't you once a mortal? Even if you are a God of Destruction now, you were still once a mortal who used to feel emotions, right?"
Vegeta's expression suddenly turned to that of annoyance. "Woman, I told you that as a mortal, I was a Saiyan prince and we Saiyans are the most ruthless race of warriors in the Universe during my time and as the Crown Prince, I should be the cruelest among us. I was raised not to have such emotions that would make me soft and bring my downfall. This is one reason why I was chosen to be the God of Destruction of this Universe. I am heartless, cruel, evil, and I am not allowed to feel emotions like you do, since birth."
Bulma eyed him, a sideway glance of disgust. "Liar," she muttered. "You fought so hard during your mortal life for the sake of your duty as Crown Prince. You were afraid of dying, of becoming weak, of losing your pride. You stood up for your predecessor in front of the King of All, fought against the King of Nothingness to protect this Universe. You worked hard to gain your strength, that's why you chose to become a God of Destruction despite not really wanting to. You used to care for someone or something, right? I'm sure that there was a time when you felt pity on any of your clients.
"I believe I am not crazy when I think that you still have a good side. I know that you can still feel emotions, despite how much you deny and act like you don't. I know that you care, that sometimes you regret doing some of your duties and feel pity for some of your clients or victims. I know that you feel sad and lonely at the fact that you were forced to become a God of Destruction against your own will. I saw it in your eyes, that's why I strongly believe it."
These were the same thoughts that bothered him when he visited Hiro Sakai's funeral after being summoned by the boy's father, Keisaku Sakai. Bulma's assumptions about him made him feel uneasy because of how it questions his own resolve in his decision to become a cold and ruthless God of Destruction. He believed himself to be an evil, remorseless deity who never felt pity towards these lowly mortals he was meant to kill and destroy.
But…
Looking at Granolah's dead body, Vegeta suddenly flinched and he felt a sudden migraine when repressed memories he shouldn't be able to recall abruptly flashed on his mind. It was one of the many times when he actually felt pity towards his clients and rage towards his targets.
Vegeta shook his head valiantly to get rid of those darn memories. Why was he remembering those things now? Memories that he allowed the Grand Priest to repress so he could forget about that mortal. He focused his eyes on Granolah. What happened with the Cerealian here reminded him of that day, but Vegeta had never felt such rage ever since he became the God of Destruction. This was greater than the anger he felt during those flashbacks he just had about whatever happened 1,239 years ago. He had allowed this foolishness to go on long enough. Fun's over and it's about time for him to finally put an end to this absurdity once and for all.
"You are such a fool, Granolah. If you only made a contract with me, then you wouldn't have to…" he said through his gritted teeth.
The gust of chilling wind began to blow stronger as it spun around Vegeta while he set Granolah's dead body down to the ground, making Gas narrow his eyes in alarm. The youngest of the Heeters Clan could sense that something terrifying was happening with the God of Destruction.
The destroyer deity was extremely furious.
And it wasn't just any typical fury that he would usually display, Vegeta's silence was scary. His rage was seething inside of him, threatening to burst out and unleash a terrifying divine punishment into this unfortunate world. His mood suddenly got extremely menacing and he became even more intimidating than usual.
And it completely frightened the man who caused the death of the one who wished to become the most powerful mortal fighter in the universe.
Gas staggered a few steps backwards, gasping in fear when he saw that the purple smoke rising out of the furious deity was forming into the face of the sleeping beast within Vegeta. The Oozaru, the demonic Giant Monkey. A Saiyan's true, beast form.
With his hair flowing against the wind, making it look like a blazing fire, Vegeta slowly raised his glowing magenta eyes to give Gas a deadly gaze. The action made everyone shudder when they felt their cores of existence pulse powerfully and continuously. Everything around them seemed to tremble upon the wrath of the deity responsible for giving the divine punishment of all mortals in this Universe.
"Stay right here. Wait for me, Granolah. Watch me destroy them all for you. They will all pay for what they did to you. They will suffer a punishment even worse than destruction itself!"
The God of Destruction's wrath overflows!
The torrid, fiery red sky of Planet Namek gradually darkened with the swirling black thunderclouds attracted by the intense build-up of an ominous destructive energy. The planet's surface shook with great magnitude, causing it to crack and break apart into floating chunks of terrain. Rocks, dust, and rubble rose in the air while the waves of water rose, becoming deadly and violent. The searing winds surrounding them slowly lowered in temperature as a devastating gale blew everywhere. All of these phenomena originated from none other than a completely livid deity of death and destruction.
A low, blood-curdling snarl reverberated from the dark purple aura overflowing from the God of Destruction and the massive, smoky face of a demonic monkey beast looming menacingly right above him. The monster's fearsome apparition and its bloodthirsty, rabid growl sent chills and waves of terror to the mortals witnessing this horrifying event.
"You…You're not getting away with this… There will be no mercy for you… You scums of this Universe!"
Vegeta's deep, cold voice brimming with his seething rage and thirst for blood seem to amplify due to his energy. Ceaseless ferocious lightning flashed across the skies, followed immediately by the blaring sound of thunder. Everybody looking on took a shaking step backwards, sensing and knowing that this world had already begun its countdown to destruction the very moment the God of Destruction decided to pour his wrath upon it.
Vegeta was completely engulfed with the aura of his godly destructive power, his hair began shedding a purple light while his eyes glowed an eerie fuschia, the scleras around it darkening into smoky black as he gave Gas a murderous stare. He raised his right hand forward, his opened palm facing the suddenly fearful Gas' direction as he declared:
"You have incurred the wrath of the God of Destruction and now you shall receive divine punishment for your wrongdoings!"
Chapter 31: The Parting at the Sanju River
"This is bad! Let's get out of here! Quick!" Elec hissed at his other siblings standing next to him. He made an about-face movement and yelled at Oil, "What are you standing there for?! Let's go before we all get destroyed here!"
Oil turned his head towards his older brother's direction and responded with a quivering voice, "Yes..!" Before running towards the cockpit.
Ignoring Elec, Macki shouted back to their younger brother, "Hey Gas! Snap out of it! Get back here and we're going to retreat!"
The trembling Gas' wide, terrified eyes shook, seemingly trying to look away from the menacing deity to find his sister's voice but his sights were glued to the God of Destruction, his body paralyzed with fear.
"Leave him alone! He brought this upon himself!" Elec sneered at Macki.
"You were the one who told him to kill everyone in here! You ordered him to kill Granolah, the Cerealians, and the Namekians! You used Gas as your tool for destruction and now that he's incurred the God of Destruction's anger, you're just going to leave him here to suffer and be destroyed?!" Macki yelled back.
"Enough!" Elec shouted. "I already told you that Gas is now useless to us! He finished the job I needed him to do and now, it's time for us to rid of him! He's been a good-for-nothing trash for over 40 years and now his miserable life will be over soon! Let the God of Destruction get rid of him! We are going to rule this Universe without a fool who cannot even use his power properly!"
"I can't believe you just said that, Elec! How could you?!" Macki gasped in disbelief. "Don't tell me that you set Gas up to be destroyed by the God of Destruction too?"
"And what if I did? So what? If you are just going to defy me, then why don't you join him there and face your own destruction! Go!"
Elec pulled Macki's hair and pushed her out of the ship. The girl yelped in pain as her older brother threw her into the trembling ground of Planet Namek.
During the commotion, Gas snapped, but he refused to stand down as Macki had told him to do. He desperately fired blasts after blasts towards Vegeta, only to see his attacks get completely nullified by the God of Destruction's powerful aura. He hitched in fright, not knowing what to do any longer after realizing he just angered someone whose wrath should never be incurred.
"Elec! The engine's not working!" Oil reported when he returned. When he saw Macki pitifully picking herself up on the ground, he turned to Elec with a confused look. "What happened to Macki?"
Ignoring Oil's question, Elec hissed as he walked to the cockpit. He tried to rev up their spaceship's engine but it was dead. He slammed a fist on the control out of frustration, "Damn it all!"
Macki stumbled towards Gas, embracing the terrified guy into her slim arms. Gas whined under his sister's hug, obviously now fearing for his existence as if he had realized who he just angered. She turned her head to face the God of Destruction, hoping to plead for his mercy despite knowing that this would go unheard.
"Please, Hakaishin-sama! Please don't destroy him, I beg of you!" Macki pleaded. "Gas was only following Elec's orders. He doesn't know what he's doing and he cannot control his own power. Since you defeated him forty years ago, Elec had been treating him unfairly and cruelly, causing his already unstable mind to become more unbalanced!"
Vegeta appeared to listen to her. He heard of the commotion between the Heeters siblings a few moments ago, but he didn't care about their petty arguments. Despite Macki's excuses, what Gas did to not just Granolah, the Namekians, and the Cerealians, but everyone else he had mercilessly murdered due to his insanity and bloodlust was completely unforgivable. Someone as uncontrollable, crazy, and dangerous as Gas shouldn't exist in this Universe at all. Vegeta will not accept any excuses from them. They have to pay for what they did. Granolah may have shown them mercy by not killing them, giving them a second chance to repent and change their ways, but for the God of Destruction in charge of bestowing divine punishment to mortals who did something unforgivable according to his judgment, there's no excuse. Gas killed a lot of innocent people, even before Vegeta gave him the bitter taste of defeat which caused the young Heeter to lose his mind. Vegeta should have destroyed Gas back then as a penalty for all the lives he had pitilessly massacred.
And now he's going to finish a job that's been long overdue.
"I should have done this a very long time ago. I shouldn't have played around with scums like yourselves and did my work. It could have saved me all of this trouble," Vegeta said. "Get away from him and wait for your turn, woman."
Macki's hug on her brother tightened as she valiantly shook her head. "Please… No!" she begged.
Vegeta tilted his head slightly, his face cold and devoid with any emotion. With a silent snort, he squeezed the air with his fingers, causing Macki to suddenly yelp, and when he pulled his arm to the side, an invisible force instantly separated Macki from Gas, which threw her several miles away. Gas stared back dumbfoundedly at where his sister was, utterly confused and wondering about what just happened. When he turned his head, he found Macki sprawled seemingly unconscious on the ground. He slowly turned to the God of Destruction and he immediately knew that he was the one who did that to his poor sister.
"I… I… I am going to kill you!" Gas seethed through his clenched teeth. His eyes filled with the desire for bloodshed.
Out of his sheer instincts and pure rage, Gas savagely attacked Vegeta with a blinded mind and a loud outcry. Vegeta allowed it to hit him straight on his face, but Gas' strike was utterly futile as Vegeta didn't even budge nor flinch at the impact, although its devastating force created a massive shockwave which caused the ground to shatter even more with that burst.
"Is this all you got? After all these years you still haven't gotten a bit stronger. You are nothing but a sheer disappointment," Vegeta told him coldly. He flexed his right arm on his side, his fingers curling into a tight fist. His glowing magenta eyes bore into Gas with a deadly gaze. "My turn!" he declared.
Vegeta's right fist swiftly moved with blinding speed, a blur of raw power and unyielding fury. It connected with Gas' torso, the impact was immediate and cataclysmic. His mighty punch pierced right through Gas' chest with a puissant force that seemed to defy the very laws of physics, the sheer energy behind it creating a devastating shockwave which rippled outward.
From front to back, Vegeta's fist drove through Gas' chest, emerging on the other side covered in a spray of crimson blood and fragments of bone, tissues, and matter. The destructive energy continued to stream outward, obliterating everything in its path and leaving a gaping, smoking hole in Gas' torso. The young Heeter's eyes widened in shock and agony, a brief, pained gasp escaping his lips
With his right forearm impaled through Gas' chest from front to back, Vegeta was seizing Gas' heart out of his back while it was still attached to the rest of his forcefully stretched out circulatory system with his clawed hand. His fingernails were sharp, black claws and dripping with the crazy monster's blood. This was exactly how Gas murdered Monaito earlier.
An incapacitated Gas gagged out lots of blood from his widely opened mouth, some of it splattering on Vegeta's face as he raised his reddish-pink eyes and let out a sinister little smile.
"Even until now, you're nothing but a mindless killing machine who doesn't have the slightest honor to even stand up for yourself. Weak, prideless cowards such as you should not exist in this Universe!" Vegeta told him with a cold voice.
The God of Destruction squeezed the still-beating heart in his hand until it exploded into fine, powdery dust. Gas' already burned and grotesque appearance gradually reduced into bones before everything he once was turned to nothing but dust in the wind. Vegeta killed Gas almost the same way he did with Jeizun Shibata a few nights ago, allowing his energy of destruction to destroy Gas' mortal shell in a cellular level.
Everyone gawked in silence at what just happened to the once fearsome enemy. Vegeta had mercilessly killed Gas with just a single hit, destroying him completely into atoms.
Vegeta turned to face the Heeters' spaceship, giving Elec a menacing gaze with his glowing magenta eyes. He began to saunter towards them. passing by the completely frightened Macki who was now sitting gracelessly on the ground with a terrified look and quivering form. Macki let out a screech when she saw Vegeta's eyes swept in her direction for a short moment, making her think that he would destroy her there, but he decided to ignore her for now as he focused on giving his punishment on the Heeters clan's mastermind.
Elec dropped his hands from the cockpit when he found the furious God of Destruction walking straight towards him, which suddenly made him fear for his own life, or existence rather. He knew there was no escape for him this time. Is this finally the time Vegeta had warned him about?
"I will be your destruction…" the God of Destruction's voice repeated in his mind as he watched the most fearsome deity come to him like a devastating storm.
Once Vegeta was in front of the ship, he slowly levitated off the ground until he was on the same level in the air as Elec and Oil. Elec was trembling with his utmost terror, even more than that of his brother Oil, who was just looking at the deity with his jaw dropped and eyes wide with fear.
Vegeta raised his finger to beckon Elec to get out and come to him. Elec hesitated at first, shaking his head. The eldest Heeter suddenly felt his body shudder as something within his chest jolted. Without control over his body, Elec walked out of the cockpit, even if his panicking mind was totally against his own actions.
Vegeta landed on the ship's balcony to meet the still hesitant and panicking Elec. He was enjoying the fear he was inflicting on the nasty, arrogant fool.
"I told you long before that I will be your destruction. Now it is the time which you have dreaded the most… Prepare yourself, Elec," Vegeta told him.
"Puh-Please… please don't destroy me, Hakaishin-sama!" Elec whimpered.
Vegeta gazed at Elec with a deathly and menacing stare, and his lips stretched into a wide, sinister grin.
"Oh, I am not going to destroy you yet... I am going to break you first! I am going to slit your abdomen, take out your organs one by one, and laugh as you cry out in utmost agony. By the time I am through with you, you're going to wish for your own destruction. But don't expect me to show you that kind of mercy, you shall suffer the rest of your remaining life until you are ready for an even worse divine punishment than hell itself which I shall bestow upon your wretched, pitiful soul for all eternity."
As if on cue, Elec abruptly let out a lengthened groan as gut-wrenching sounds of snaps and cracks seem to originate from his body, feeling his insides getting squeezed by some powerful invisible force. His bare, muscular abdomen slowly cracked open with a deep cut that oozed with his blood. When Vegeta inserted one of his hands into the lengthwise cut, Elec began screaming in agony, feeling the cruel deity's hand moving inside him and his fingers grabbing his innards and pulling them out of the gruesome cut.
The blood and gore, and all the tortured cries he was receiving from Elec caused Vegeta to grin with satisfaction, the bloodlust brought by the power of the Secret of Self-Indulgence technique gradually taking over his mind. He began to laugh maniacally due to sadistic delight.
Suddenly, Vegeta heard three voices in his mind calling his name. One of his guide angel, the other of the mortal woman his soul was bonded with, and the last one from the pulsing soul behind him that once belonged to Granolah. Vegeta sensed Whis beside him, prepared to restrain him anytime if needed be. Their voices and presence pulled Vegeta out of his spiraling rage and bloodlust. The cruel smile faded away from Vegeta's lips and his expression returned to a stoic one. He pulled his hand out of Elec's body and watched him drop on the floor of his spaceship, desperately fighting for the remaining life he had in him until he took his last breath.
Vegeta raised his right hand on the side, closed his fist, then opened his palm. Gas' soul appeared above his hand, a small, weak flame bluish white in color. He opened his left hand where Elec's soul showed up after it was pulled out from his dead body. Vegeta turned around and faced Granolah's soul. With a raised imperious voice, Vegeta addressed Oil and Macki.
"I will spare the two of you from my wrath today as I have seen something within you that deserved to be shown my mercy. However, if you still cause too much trouble across my Universe, I promise you both that I will come back to let you join your brothers where you fools deserve to suffer your divine punishment for all eternity. Do you understand?"
"Yes..!"
Vegeta raised his head to look at the skies, "As for Planet Namek, after the price of your divine punishment has been paid by the blood of the involved party, I, the God of Destruction of the Seventh Universe, Vegeta Yonsei, is hereby lifting the curse I bestowed upon this world. However, I still won't give their magical abilities back to prevent the recreation of the Dragon Balls, or any other magical artifacts that threaten the balance of this Universe. Now let it be done!"
The dark thunderclouds slowly parted to reveal the reddish skies of Planet Namek gradually fading back to its natural green atmosphere. The three suns above the planet seem to absorb all the blazing heat back and the planet's weather and fervent temperature which caused the drought finally dropped to its typical state. The planet was still completely devastated due to the battle and the earlier rampage of the God of Destruction, but the Namekians were grateful for him lifting his divine punishment to them.
The Namekians who were hiding from the fight quickly gathered around the deity to thank him for his mercy. Vegeta rolled his eyes, not impressed nor was in the mood to accept these mortals' praises and thanks. It made him uncomfortable to be honest. He didn't lift his curse for their sake so those thanks meant nothing to him anyways.
Whis, who was standing not far away, let out an impressed smile at his lord's decision. This was the first time he had seen Vegeta take back his divine punishment like this, perhaps, what happened in here made him realize something within himself after Granolah's death.
"Whis, take us to the Check-in Station of Meido and let's meet Enma," Vegeta ordered his guide angel. He wanted to leave this stupid planet immediately before he could be triggered by those slimy, humanoid, gastropod slugs and destroy them all completely! That guy called Piccolo though, he was different from the others. After sensing the spirit of a true warrior from within him, Vegeta gave him an impressed smirk and told him, "Hey you. I will meet you again sometime, Piccolo," causing the Namekian Warrior to blink his eyes in confusion.
"What?" Piccolo blinked in wonder. What does that mean?
Vegeta turned to Whis and said, "Let's go, Whis."
"As you wish, milord," Whis said, tapping the end of his staff into the ground, teleporting himself, Vegeta, and the three souls Vegeta kept with him, into a bright, massive office room where a giant oak table stood in front of a gargantuan red-skinned oni king wearing a light purple suit with red tie and a Chinese hat. Around them were human-sized blue-skinned Onis busy scurrying around while carrying tall stacks of paperworks. Everyone in that room halted what they were all doing and dropped whatever thing they were holding as soon as they found the deity who appeared unannounced in the office of Meido, the Underworld.
"Ve-Vegeta-sama!" the titanic red-skinned oni king gasped, quickly rising from his office chair and falling down to his knees to give his superior his utmost respect. This giant man was the King of Meido, Enma Daiou or the 'Great King Enma', the Judge of the Dead.
"What brings you here, milord?" he humbly asked.
"Throw these miserable souls to Mu, make them suffer the most vile and most ruthless punishment for all eternity," Vegeta ordered, hurling the souls of Elec and Gas to the deity of the Underworld.
"This is..? Ah yes, I've heard really nasty rumors about these two, milord," Enma said.
"They do not deserve to be destroyed for the things they did. Hell is not enough punishment for these fools either. As for this other one, I will personally take him to his destination."
Enma Daiou blinked in wonder. This is the first time the God of Destruction had personally delivered a mortal soul to its destination since–
He awkwardly gave Vegeta an uncomfortable look. He wondered what was so special about this particular soul now.
"He defied the laws of the deities, that's why I shall personally make sure that his punishment will be properly served," Vegeta responded to the Meido King's unvoiced question in his mind.
Enma blinked his eyes and stuttered, "I… I understand, milord."
Vegeta walked towards the gate to the Sanju River, the River of Three Crossings leading to either Tenjou (heaven), Jigoku (hell), or Mu (nothingness). Inside the gate was dark, the sky was filled with black clouds, even the damped soil and the water of the said river was obsidian in color. The place was enlightened by a glowing, clover-shaped purple light which shines like a moon against the coal-black sky. Several yellow lanterns lined up twenty feet away from the riverbanks. About fifty feet away from the entrance, a black Torii gate stood, entering that gate would lead to a long journey towards the three crossings. Whis and the ball of bluish-white flame consisting of Granolah's soul followed him there.
They met up with a strange, shadowy figure wearing a long, flowy black cloak with its hood over its head. His appearance would remind mortals of a grim reaper, although his face was covered in complete darkness instead of it being a living skeleton. The creature had a glowing pair of yellow-orange eyes shaped like horizontal diamonds. This guy was the ferryman of the Sanju River known as Zahha. He was sitting on a small, wooden boat, grasping a lengthy oar made with the same material as his boat when they arrived.
Zahha rose from his position as he met up with his superior, "It has been a while, Vegeta-sama," he greeted with a deep, husky voice.
"I am going to deliver this soul bound for Jigoku," Vegeta told him. He suddenly frowned at the wooden boat Zahha was sitting at earlier. "I can't believe that you still ferry that dirty thing. Do you expect me to ride on such trash?!"
"Eh?" blinked Zahha. He awkwardly met eyes with the God of Destruction's Guide Angel and shrugged, "My… My apologies, Vegeta-sama… But this is all that I have…"
Vegeta shook his head in distaste, "This won't do. We are the best universe among all and our ferryman in the Underworld still has an old freaking boat! Whis, could you make a luxury cruise ship appear so I can go ahead and destroy that stupid boat? And make sure it has an auto-pilot thing. I can't stand this fool's slow ferrying. It would take us forever to reach Jigoku!"
"But isn't that what you needed, milord? Time to speak with Granolah until you reach his soul's destination?"
"I WAS A ROYAL CROWN PRINCE! I WILL NOT BE SEEN BY MY PEOPLE RIDING THAT DIRTY THING!"
"..."
Whis and Zahha awkwardly glanced at each other. Zahha shrugged his shoulders while Whis let out a long sigh.
"You and your pride…" Whis muttered.
Vegeta let out an annoyed grunt and rolled his eyes impatiently, "Ugh… Forget it, I will do it myself!"
With a snap of his fingers, a luxurious ship magically appeared right in front of them. Whis and Zahha's eyes almost popped out of their sockets when they sensed thousands of human souls suddenly appearing on Sanju River at once. Vegeta entered the ship and imperiously yelled at the souls within it to get out before he 'destroys them all'. Several balls of flames quickly burst out of the exit as if in a hurry and they littered around the said entrance, not knowing where to go at all. Zahha had uncomfortably pointed them to the check in station where Enma Daiou was.
Vegeta told Whis, Zahha, and Granolah's soul to get onboard after checking out that no one else was there. They hesitantly abided the God of Destruction's wishes, despite disagreeing about his show of abusing his powers to get what he wanted. Vegeta ordered Zahha to captain the ship towards Jigoku while he told Whis to go to the kitchen to get him some food if there were even any of it. Zahha politely told Vegeta that he has no knowledge on how to operate the cruise ship at all. Grumbling about how useless this ferryman was, Vegeta told Whis to pick up the soul of the ship's Captain, give it a temporary spiritual vessel to use, and ordered the Captain to take them to where Zahha will direct him while teaching the Ferryman of the Sanju River his skills. When Vegeta was about to leave with Granolah's soul towards somewhere private, the crystal on the top of Whis' staff began flashing a green light.
"It's a call from Daishinkan-sama," Whis said. Hearing that, Vegeta turned to Whis in concern, looking quite annoyed that the Grand Priest was calling at such a bad time.
"What does he want now?" Vegeta queried.
"Who knows? Perhaps it's about King Zen," Whis stated.
Vegeta turned to Zahha, Granolah's soul, and the spirit of the ship's captain, telling them to wait. Vegeta and Whis walked out of the room to be somewhere more private. Once they found the massive balcony on the top deck of the ship, Whis tapped his scepter into the wooden floor. Daishinkan's face faded in on the crystal.
"Our apologies for taking too long to answer your call, Daishinkan-sama. Is there anything you need?" Whis asked his father.
The Grand Priest looked on with a neutral expression, "Ah, Whis. I need you to come over to my office at the King of All's Palace immediately. The two of us have something quite concerning to discuss."
Whis blinked at the odd request and the tone of voice his father used. Clearly, the Grand Priest wasn't pleased about whatever was concerning him. "I understand, father," Whis said with a neutral tone. Then the call got hung up. Vegeta raised an eyebrow, was the Grand Priest in such a hurry and he didn't even care to greet him at all? And what was that about between Whis and Daishinkan that concerned only the both of them?
"What was that about?" Vegeta asked curiously. He was glad that this was not a business he needed to attend to, but for some reason, there was something about that unusual call from the Grand Priest that worried him, especially when Whis turned to him with an odd look which made the God of Destruction feel even more uncomfortable. It was like a mother suspecting her son of doing something bad at school that's why the principal was calling her.
"What?!" Vegeta snapped back at his angel. He could hear Whis' discombobulated thoughts as he pondered about Vegeta's behavior lately.
Whis didn't answer as he turned his back to his master and said, "I'll be right back as quick as possible, Vegeta-sama. Please don't get into any more trouble without me by your side."
Whis tapped his scepter and the Guide Angel disappeared to thin air, leaving Vegeta quite confused.
What trouble was he talking about?
Outside the small building that stood next to the Grand King Zen's Palace, Daishinkan stood on the small bridge above a pond that showed him various but worrisome images of Vegeta, some of him having the desire for more bloodshed and destruction, in the form that held the ultimate darkness and evil he had ever seen as evident by the glowing magenta irises, black scleras, and the unhinged look upon Vegeta's eyes as he laughed like a madman while indulging himself in sadistic delight. Other images showed him of Vegeta's struggles to push away the voices threatening to make him lose his sanity every time he allowed himself to feel the emotions he was forbidden to have. He watched these things with a displeased and concerned look on his face.
Whis appeared before his father and his supervisor. The tall angel bowed down humbly, "You called for me, Daishinkan-sama?"
Daishinkan turned to the guide angel of the Seventh Universe, the guardian of the Destined Strong One, as King Mu would call Vegeta. "I summoned you in here in concern for Vegeta's alarming behavior lately."
"So you have become aware of this," Whis confirmed.
"Yes, the Pond of Oracles just showed me these visions regarding what was happening to your God of Destruction."
The Pond of Oracles is the body of water where the Oracle Fishes like Yogengyo originated from. Like the Oracle Fish, it can predict prophecies and provide visions to divine beings. The pond can also show the multiverse-level angels and deities ominous events which may happen due to one's actions, thoughts, or decisions.
"Truly a magnificent thing," Whis said.
"I know you already met the Multiverse-level Goddess of Reality, Space, and Time, Yonshir, in the Seventh Universe. She was the first to know about this, so she went there to make her observations. Perhaps, she was the one who sent these to the Pond of Oracles. I even saw that it was because of your fascination with Earth's food."
Whis smiled awkwardly and giggled, " Ohohoho… You got me there…"
"And that led him to meet that woman who's been bothering his heart and mind as of lately, again."
Whis' expression became solemn.
"Yes, Daishinkan-sama. My apologies, this is all my fault. I shall take responsibility for what happened."
"I was disappointed to know that he wasn't really that different from the other Saiyans from his Universe like you tried to convince us 1500 years ago. At first, I was impressed by his exceptional control over his instincts and powers as a mortal when he proved himself during his first fight against Toppo, so despite his display of hot-headedness and impatience, I was never worried about your decision to allow Beerus to train him in using the forbidden technique of the Gods of Destruction.
"However, I've been noticing a change in his behavior lately which is causing him to allow himself to be overwhelmed by the powers being given to him by the Secret of Self-Indulgence technique and slowly but surely succumb to his destructive desires. King Zen and King Mu will be greatly disappointed if they learn about this and it's going to be such a waste if we lose him, especially when they greatly favored him. I don't want someone as good as Vegeta to be eliminated by the King of Nothingness, just as how King Mu did with the Gods of Destruction of the Thirteenth to Eighteenth Universes, which is why I called your attention so you could keep a cautious eye at Vegeta's behavior and still have the time to prevent these from happening."
The dark skies above the Sanju River became dyed with crimson light and the surrounding air became scorchingly hot as embers of flames that came from within that narrow way flattered around the cruise ship. In the distance, ceaseless howls of endless torture resounded as they arrived at the third crossing of the Underworld river.
Vegeta walked towards the front balcony of the cruise ship, followed by the floating orb of flame which was Granolah's soul. The God of Destruction looked on at the eternal and infinite lake of fire burning not far away from them. They could see the black, human-shaped souls crying out for help, twitching, staggering around like human torches, reaching out to anyone or anything they wished that could help them drag away from this place. Once some of the damned souls found the cruise ship, an upgraded version of the small boat that brought them into this place, they quickly tried to run towards it, thinking if they got into that thing, they could escape hell, but the terrifying demons that watched over them eventually dragged them back to the lake of fire. The demons cackled menacingly, but when they all noticed who was looking down at them from the ship, they stopped their laughter, gazing up at the God of Destruction curiously as if wondering what he was doing there. Was he here to meet with Rushiferu, the King of Jigoku? They were interested in the soul floating next to the Hakaishin though. Granolah's soul pulsed as if in terror when it perceived the demons staring at it as if it was something to eat, or an addition to their grotesque collection.
Noticing this and that he was feeling uncomfortable that they were being stared at by these hellish creatures Vegeta deemed as inferior to him, he raised his voice, his eyes blazed a reddish-pink glow, "Leave me alone! Return to where you belong before I destroy you all!"
The demons and the damned souls they were dragging back to hell with them immediately scampered back to the lake of fire. Once the demons were out of his sight, Vegeta faced Granolah's soul. The ball of bluish-white flame changed form into an opaque body of Granolah.
"This is Jigoku," Vegeta told him. "This is the place where you must stay for all eternity. The eternal punishment I shall bestow to mortals who had done something unforgivable when they were still living, even for those who had blinded themselves in their anger and dedicated their lives to their own selfishness such as vengeance and thirst for power. This is also where I should have met you for the first time, if I wasn't the God of Destruction that is.
"Mortals feared hell. They feared the lake of fire in which they would suffer and burn forever. They feared the demons who would enjoy giving everlasting torment to their foolish, miserable souls. Even I feared coming in here at the time of my mortal death. I was a villain all throughout, just as evil and ruthless as those you would find within that fire, perhaps, I was even worse than them, so I knew that I was naturally bound to come in here one day and suffer with the rest of my people. My fear of death is one of the reasons why I accepted to become the God of Destruction, just so I could live forever doing what I am best at, without any consequences. At least, that's what I thought...
"There is a place between heaven and hell where some souls of the dead are kept to wander for all eternity without ever finding peace. I sent Elec and Gas' souls to suffer there forever. That place known as Mu was also the place where the souls of my people were taken as hostages to ensure that I will do my proper duties as the God of Destruction of this Universe. When I refuse or defy my duty, or whenever I feel or think about things that I am not allowed to have, their screams of eternal sufferings are constantly sent into my head, causing me agony until I am either forced to destroy or lose control of myself. This is the price that I paid for the wish I made, the curse I had to endure for all eternity. An existence even worse than death and destruction. A place more fearsome than the one right in front of us.
"And I thought I was strong enough to endure it all. I believed myself to be a very strong warrior. But then, I've been lying to myself all this time whenever I try to make myself believe that I enjoyed doing my duties as a God of Destruction. The truth is... There are times when I feel like I can't take it anymore. The loneliness, the pain, the regret... Even pity... There are moments when I have seen a reflection of myself in my contractees or my targets... I was once a mortal like them... I was once looked down upon, insulted, helpless, weak, bitter, and alone like my summoners. I was once as power-hungry, cruel, ruthless, vengeful, bloodthirsty, and arrogant as my targets. I was no different from them all and I understood them, and yet I cannot do anything, but to do my duties."
Granolah's spirit stepped closer to him and pulled him into an embrace. Feeling the warmth and comfort he had been seeking for most of his existence, Vegeta finally let go and put down the hardened shell he used to enclose himself all these years. He bawled out loud like a child who had lost everything while Granolah hugged him like a brother comforting his sibling. The God of Destruction opened up to him willingly, bared his softest spot, and trusted him because he knew that Granolah, who went through almost the same obstacles as he did when he was a mortal, would understand him.
Vegeta pulled away from Granolah a few moments later, shrugging and chuckling awkwardly as he wiped his tears away with the back of his hand. His cheeks and eyes were red due to him crying and feeling embarrassed at the same time. Granolah's soul pulsed as if to tell him it's okay for him to cry and that he must have been holding back all of those tears and emotions he just unleashed for a very long time.
"That's why you were right about what you thought about me at the Sacred Space of Spirit and Time," Vegeta continued. "Indeed, I wanted to be free from this cursed existence. I wanted to return to the way I was before, the proud and powerful Saiyan warrior I once was. It's just like you said, the most powerful are blessed to have the strength and power to save and protect the weak, but my pride, selfishness, and greed for greater power led me to the path of my life's own destruction. Since becoming the God of Destruction of this Universe, I believe that who and what I used to be has long been destroyed and gone. I have accepted who and what I have become, and made a decision to forget about my mortal past which I would never have a chance to be again. But when I met this mortal woman on a small planet in the solar system called Earth, that resolve was utterly shaken. I began to feel things and do things which I really shouldn't have, and now, after 1,239 years since I closed off my heart and mind from those things, I was reminded why I hated being in this existence. I ran away like a coward, wanting to avoid hearing the voices of my people and be reminded of the heavy price that I have to pay for getting what I want. But then, after what you said, I remembered that if it wasn't for me becoming a God of Destruction, this entire universe may have been completely obliterated more than 1500 years ago.
"I sacrificed my pride and my honor, the things that made me who and what I am as the Proud Prince of the mighty Saiyan warrior race, in order to become a God of Destruction and in turn, prevent this Universe from being obliterated by the King of Nothingness. At that time, I believed that I only did it so I won't be erased from my existence. I wanted to fight and seek greater power, to surpass the multiverse-level deities, to become Number One and be on the top! I didn't care about saving or protecting this Universe, all I cared about was my pride. Even so, I ended up doing what others would think was a selfless act, and that misunderstanding annoyed me. I don't understand what good they saw in me. I am the God of Destruction, the harbinger of death, misery, and chaos. I am not to be trusted nor be seen as a hero, savior or protector.
"I was always meant to be the villain…
"But all thanks to you, I came to realize how much I've lost sight of myself. I've been denying it all this time for I feared the voices that may come back to haunt me once again. I've been running away in fear all this time, like a cowardly child who doesn't fight back and is forced to pretend to be what others wanted me to become. It is very unbecoming of a Saiyan Warrior Prince and I am ashamed of myself. From now on, I will search for the real purpose of my fate just as you wish for me to do so. I promise you, Granolah."
A few moments later after Vegeta apologized for the stupid display he gave him and ordered him to forget whatever he saw and heard from him. Granolah simply nodded. The Hakaishin nodded back and waved his hand to say goodbye.
As Granolah was about to jump into the lake of fire, accepting his fate to join the cursed souls trapped in it, Vegeta said in a low tone, "I'm sorry, Granolah."
He raised his right palm towards Granolah's spirit, the ball of fire within jolted as it perceived the God of Destruction's divine destructive powers envelope its existence, causing its bluish white color to change color into purple. By Vegeta's judgment, this poor mortal soul doesn't deserve to suffer in hell. Granolah, if not for his desire for revenge towards Elec and Gas, was actually a pure, innocent soul. He was also a victim of a tragic circumstance who only seeked justice for his loved ones. His wish to gain the greatest power he could achieve his entire lifetime may have been caused by his selfish desires, but in the end, he used that power to save and protect people. That was a very noble act, and it gained the God of Destruction's respect.
And so, Vegeta decided to give him the better punishment so he won't have to suffer anymore. He still cannot bring Granolah's soul to heaven considering how he still defied the laws of the deities, so Vegeta had no other choice but to destroy him.
For the first time since he became a God of Destruction, Vegeta realized that the power of destruction he held can be used for something better.
"You have gained the God of Destruction's mercy, and therefore, you shall receive a fine reward for such noble acts. In order to save your soul from eternal suffering, I shall give you the divine punishment of Destruction instead… Goodbye, Granolah."
As he closed his hand into a fist, Granolah's soul slowly incinerated into fine, powdery, black dust. Vegeta watched, inwardly promising that he will always remember the Cerealian and the promise he made with him. Granolah's destruction made Vegeta feel relieved, knowing that Granolah won't need to suffer anymore.
The flames of Jigoku abruptly parted and then, several hands with elongated arms sprouted out of the fiery lake and surrounded Vegeta until they wrung around him to hold him tight in place. The King of Jigoku, Rushiferu, walked towards the cruise ship. He was nearly twenty feet tall, has blue skin, spiky hair that sweeps in different directions, a widow's peak, long, pointed ears, bright red irises and sharp, deadly fangs. Sensing his presence, Vegeta's expression turned intimidating as he faced this fearsome king.
"What are you doing here, Vegeta Yonsei?!" Rushiferu demanded him with a raised but hissing voice. An unspeakable fury burning in his red irises. "Have you come to finally give yourself to me?"
Around 100 million years ago, back when Enma Daiou was the ruler of both Meido and Jigoku, the previous God of Destruction Beerus learned of the blue-skinned Oni, Rushiferu's ambitious pursuit for power and thus when Rushiferu rebelled against Shin and Beerus, the Hakaishin threw Rushiferu into the deepest pits of the Underworld and sealed him there. Because of his intimidating power, Rushiferu eventually became the ruler of Jigoku. Because of what Beerus did to him, Rushiferu harbored such unfathomable hatred towards the God of Destruction, including the Chosen One whom Beerus favored and one he highly believed whose soul was meant to be his. Because Vegeta changed his fate by making a contract with Beerus, Rushiferu had lost not just one evil soul to use with, but the souls of all Saiyans as well. He hated the existence of Gods of Destruction because he believed that as the embodiment of pure evil, he had the right to become a god himself and claim mortal souls as his own. He believed himself that he should be greater than the Gods of Destruction, or even the King of Everything, Zen and King of Nothingness, Mu, and wanted to take control of the balance of the Universe.
"You sure have grown soft and weak, Vegeta. If you truly are the mightiest God of Destruction, why won't you destroy those things holding you and free yourself from being restrained?"
Vegeta's eyes narrowed and his fierce glare towards Rushiferu intensified into a threatening one, "Should I destroy you where you stand, demon? Don't you dare speak to me as if you are my equal."
Rushiferu laughed, though the laughter sounded mocking, "Do you honestly think I didn't see your pathetic display just now? That soul was mine to take, yet you decided to destroy him out of mercy. A God of Destruction doesn't need to feel such a thing! If King Mu learns about this. I wonder what he will do to you."
"Hmph! He cannot complain if he's not here!" Vegeta spat back.
The things that wrung around Vegeta got even tighter as Rushiferu got irked by the way this cheeky deity ran his tongue.
"Do you think just because you have become the most powerful among all Gods of Destruction, you can do whatever you want? Your mortal emotions bare your greatest weakness! It's been a rumor among the deities and onis around here about how you are becoming soft these past few months. Just what do you think you're doing, Vegeta Yonsei?!" Rushiferu sneered.
"Do you think I care about whatever you low-level deities think about me? You know nothing," Vegeta snapped back.
Rushiferu grunted in his annoyance before he shot back, "You conceited, foolish brat! We all know that despite how powerful you think you are, your weakness still lies within Shin. A God of Destruction and a God of Creation coexist with each other. If he gets obliterated, so are you."
Rushiferu gave Vegeta a creepy smile.
The God of Destruction simply snorted back, "Hmph! So, were you seriously expecting me to quiver in fear and say 'I'm scared' and 'Why are you doing this to me?' all of a sudden? Have you forgotten? Shin and I are the reason why everything in this Universe exists. If Shin and I get obliterated, so are you and everything in this and the Sixth Universe. Do you think I will be afraid of getting obliterated, after what I've been through? Hmph! If I get obliterated along with this Universe, then everything will end just as I wanted it to be. That's exactly what I've been waiting for after the grueling years I had to endure being in this cursed existence."
Rushiferu was getting more indignant. His attempt at pissing off this proud Hakaishin backfiring at his face. This brat sure knows how to talk back. He tried to calm himself down and regain his composure.
"Well, I'm not surprised at how reckless and selfish you can become, Vegeta. But remember this, if threatening Shin isn't enough for you to be afraid, then yes… There is another way," the King of Jigoku said.
"What way?" Vegeta asked curiously, blinking his eyes.
"Bulma Briefs– whoops," Rushiferu quickly blabbered the mortal woman's name as if he had a slip of tongue. His red eyes observed the God of Destruction's cold reaction with such intense stare.
Vegeta was silent for a few minutes. His expression was devoid of any emotion as he gazed back at the King of Jigoku with an ominous look. His obsidian eyes darkening as it grew icier than it normally was.
"So? What about her?" Vegeta responded after a few moments.
Rushiferu laughed back. He just can't believe this Hakaishin's stubbornness, "We deities know everything, we just pretend that we don't. But you are on another level, Vegeta! You're in denial! I can't believe you. Don't you get it? That human, Bulma Briefs, is the reincarnation of that mortal girl you cared about 1,239 years ago!"
"What the hell are you talking about, demon? I never cared for any mortals!" Vegeta snapped.
"Stop deceiving yourself! I know you know exactly what I'm talking about. You've been in denial of the truth, trying to suppress your memories of your past and your feelings for that woman. There is a reason why you specifically chose her to decide her own fate. Face the truth, and admit it. You're growing soft! Finally, you have something that you care about and are afraid to lose again… Hehehehe…"
"..."
Vegeta's dark eyes narrowed dangerously. He wasn't afraid of anything. He didn't care about that Earthling woman at all. Why was this stupid low-level deity trying to get a weak, meaningless girl involved here?
"You…" Vegeta uttered in a menacing tone. "Why are you getting a mortal involved here? If you have any problem with me, why won't you come at me without involving anyone else? Or aren't you just a coward because you know I could destroy you where you stand right now?"
"Why? Does it make you feel concerned?" Rushiferu asked.
Vegeta rolled his eyes, "Believe whatever you want. I don't have much time to waste with you. If you aren't going to fight me or anything, then quit wasting my time on this nonsense."
Vegeta effortlessly destroyed the phantom hands around him, then he turned his back away from Rushiferu, intent on leaving and returning to the mortal realm, but his steps were put to a halt when Rushiferu said:
"Nobody's getting her involved in all of these, Vegeta. Nobody, but you."
Vegeta's eyes narrowed once again. What is this demon talking about now?
As if he knew that the God of Destruction was listening, Rushiferu continued, "That poor mortal Earthling woman would suffer now because of you. Well, anyone who associates themselves with you always ends up in misery or a gruesome death, just like what happened 1,239 years ago when you allowed yourself to be involved with the matters of her previous life..."
Flashes of repressed memories abruptly filled Vegeta's mind, the same memories he tried to push away earlier while staring down at Granolah's dead body in his arms back when he was on Planet Namek. Somehow, he could tell that these memories happened 1,239 years ago and could be the actual reason why he almost destroyed the Universe back then. In those memories, he met a pure and innocent seven-year-old girl who was mistakenly suspected as a witch by her illiterate people. Due to this, she was blamed for the drought happening in her world. She was sent to the mountains and was offered as a sacrifice to serve him in order to appease his wrath, thinking that the pestilence happening to their world was due to his anger. During their times together, they became quite close. Vegeta told her that he went to her world because he heard the cries of the seven-year-old children's souls seeking for justice and he was there to make his observations while he decide the fate of her world. He told her that this tradition was stupid and that it doesn't really do anything to appease a god but it further pisses him off. The girl said that's just how she thought it would be. Vegeta tried offering her a contract to destroy those people who wanted her dead but she refused to do it because she thought that this was the reason why they were suffering from the drought anyways. He offered to return her to her parents, but she refused to go back since she believed that if she returned to her village, she and her parents would only get killed for breaking their thousand-year-old tradition. She would rather serve him like she was meant to do than suffer being an outcast and be bullied once again for being a 'witch'. Vegeta told her to do whatever she wants without any interest at all.
The memory switches to when the girl grew up into a fine, beautiful lady. One night, both gave in to their physical attraction towards one another and had a night of heated passion. However, when she confessed her love for him, Vegeta rejected her. He was aware that being a God of Destruction, he wasn't allowed to have any emotion towards a mortal because he knew that anyone who associated themselves with him would only be destroyed. He immediately regretted what he did with her because he knew of the dire and tragic consequences both of them would face. Feeling hurt without understanding his reasons, she ran away with tears in her eyes. When her people found out that she was still alive, they immediately concluded that she failed to appease the God of Destruction and suspected that this was the reason why the said deity hasn't lifted his divine punishment on the planet yet. So they captured her along with her family, and burned them all in the stake as an apology to him, praying for his mercy. Vegeta sensed what was happening and he quickly went to the village where her punishment was being held with an intent to save her and apologize for his earlier actions, but he was forced to watch her die without being able to do anything as he was immediately and completely halted by the screaming voices torturing his head. He helplessly watched as she cried out while she was burned alive until she died right in front of him.
Seeking justice for her death, Vegeta raised hell into her homeworld, burning down the entire planet along its miserable inhabitants for what they did to her. For the first time since he became a Hakaishin, he felt grief and pity towards a mortal and he made her people suffer a gruesome and terrifying destruction without mercy, without any remorse due to an emotional outburst he had that night, causing the agonizing cries of his people to torture him until he lost all self-control and his own sanity. He went into a berserk rampage and became so uncontrollable he almost destroyed this entire Universe in his unfettered wrath.
When everything was over, Vegeta retrieved her soul and delivered it to its destination personally, making use of his terrifying powers and fearsome status as the God of Destruction to do so. Before they part ways on the first crossing of the Sanju River which led towards Tenjou, she told him that she was glad to see him again. She apologized for not understanding him, then she promised him that one day when she gets reincarnated, she will seek him and return to meet him again, that she will be more understanding towards him and she would teach him what it means to be loved, that she would show him what his true purpose is, hoping that she could free him from his own misery just as how his presence did with hers.
"SHUT UP!" Vegeta abruptly shouted at Rushiferu. His flashing eyes became filled with tears of grief and sorrow upon being overwhelmed by the repressed and unwanted memories coming back to him. "SHUT UP! SHUT UP! SHUT UP!"
His body quickly glowed a purplish light and with a mighty roar, a powerful shockwave quickly blew around him as his energy exploded. He quickly grabbed the sides of his throbbing head and cried out in extreme agony as the voices of his people screaming at him began to torture him inside along with the unwanted memories he refused to remember coming back to haunt him. His forehead burned, his eyes stung, while his head felt like it was being cracked open due to these things. Vegeta screamed in pain. He never felt any migraine as painful as this his entire life and existence. Due to this sudden outburst, his destructive power became out of control as he went into a berserk rampage.
Whis appeared right behind him all of a sudden, shouting anxiously, "VEGETA-SAMA!"
The guide angel waved his scepter and bright angelic light burst out of its glowing crystal, forming into thick ropes that shot towards the God of Destruction and wrapped itself around Vegeta to restrain him just as how Rushiferu's servants did earlier, but these were more powerful than that. Vegeta, who was already blinded by his anger, struggled to free himself out of the angel's grasps.
"Grrrrr... Ngh! Gurhk! Gaaah!" Vegeta roared as he tried to release himself from those that were restraining him but couldn't do it. He gave Whis a wild, furious glare, baring his fangs at him. He couldn't recognize his attentant standing before him at all. He had truly lost his mind, blinded by the emotions running through him.
Whis turned towards the King of Jigoku, "What were you trying to invoke here, King Rushiferu?" he demanded with a sharp glare.
Rushiferu shrugged, "Well, I'm just saying that he was becoming soft and weak–"
"GAAAAAAAAAAAAHH!"
Vegeta abruptly roared like a bloodthirsty beast, his mouth opened wide and an ultra powerful energy blast burst out of his mouth, causing the panicking Rushiferu to dodge as quick as he could but it was too late for him to do so. It decimated half of his head completely and it went through the lake of fire for several miles, destroying anything on its path from its existence.
Good thing that Rushiferu was immortal so Vegeta's powers of destruction didn't work on him and he was able to regenerate his head completely.
"Now look at what you have done," Whis told Rushiferu, shaking his head. He turned to the still rampaging God of Destruction, "Now that should be enough to calm you down, milord."
But Vegeta showed no signs of gaining his self-control back, instead he grew even more outraged after he saw Rushiferu regenerating from the damage he just did. The power of the Secret of Self-Indulgence began to take over him when he succumbed to his primal desire to make that fool suffer. Vegeta's hair began to shed a purple light, and his face morphed into a terrifying countenance that was scarier than Rushiferu's demonic face, with his scleras becoming filled with a smoky black film and his eyes glowing an intense magenta hue, filled with his fury and his lust for blood.
"Calm yourself down, Vegeta-sama!"
When Whis felt as if the entire Meido was shaking due to Vegeta losing control of his destructive powers, making everyone in the Underworld panic. That's when the guide angel tasked to control the God of Destruction made his move.
"That would be enough!" he shouted.
With a swift and powerful strike, Whis smacked Vegeta on the back of his head with the side of his hand so hard it forced the God of Destruction out of his transformed state and dropped unconscious on the floor of the ship deck. The angelic light that restrained him earlier breaking down into sparks.
Whis took Vegeta's unconscious form in his slim arms, looking back behind his left shoulder and giving Rushiferu a hard gaze. "You shouldn't have done that, King Rushiferu. You know very well that Vegeta-sama chose to allow us to repress those memories he had about Bloomer-san to prevent the destruction of this Universe from happening again. Triggering him like this would only cause him to destroy everything in this Universe once more. If you or anyone gets her reincarnation involved with these matters and use her against him, then I'm sure that he won't take it lightly. Consider this a warning to you, and feel lucky that I was still able to stop him before he could completely succumb into his full destroyer form and awaken his true power. Else, not even an immortal like you would survive his destructive wrath."
With that, Whis left the Sanju River in a flash of bright light, carrying the completely knocked out Vegeta with him. As he flew back to their homeworld, the Guide Angel recalled the alarming conversation he just had with Daishinkan earlier.
"The level of destructive power Vegeta currently possesses has become alarming," Daishinkan told him. "I believe that it's become multiverse-level at most at this point. He could be at King Mu's level by now, or he could be greater. But I'm sure that he wasn't aware of this because of the limiter he requested from King Mu..."
"So you also knew about this?" Whis asked his father.
"Yes, and this is worrisome indeed," Daishinkan replied. "Vegeta could potentially become a perilous threat to the multiverse if this goes on. There will be a time when he might awaken that sleeping power within him, succumb to the overwhelming influence of the Secret of Self-Indulgence technique, continue to grow even stronger until he loses control of his own destructive power and impulses, and destroy not just the Sixth and Seventh Universes, but the entirety of the multiverse as well. That's just how powerful he could become once he unleashes that power within him. And it's only a matter of time before he could realize this. We must find a way to prevent this from happening. There is still a chance to change things, Whis."
"I understand. Thank you for your advice, Daishinkan-sama," Whis bowed. "What do you suggest we should do then?"
"It is just as how a God of Destruction should do. If anything prevents him from doing his proper duties, then he must eliminate that thing without any regret or remorse."
"Are you saying that he should..?"
"That's right, he must destroy that mortal woman."
