"You have gone too far this time. Angering me was your gravest mistake! It's already too late for you to repent. I will show you what you have feared the most...
"I will destroy everything!"
Awaken, Great monkey demon lord, Oozaru!
The full moon's brilliant light gradually transformed Vegeta Yonsei's physical body into a massive, demonic monkey beast, the Oozaru, a Saiyan's true, primordial, monstrous nature, in which they morph into whenever they stare at any celestial body that creates green-spectrum radiation called the Blutz waves, commonly found when sunlight that was reflected through a celestial body bounced off from the celestial object's surface. These waves reach more than seventeen million zeno units whenever it's made through a circular reflective space, like that of a full moon.
When a Saiyan's retina absorbs more than seventeen million zeno units of Blutz waves, a reaction is set off in a certain gland within their tails and the Oozaru transformation begins. It was said that the full moon and the tail were a Saiyan's real source of power, because these help awaken their true power and savage nature through changing into a giant monkey demon. However, due to the intensity of the feral mind and the overwhelming primal power flowing through them, Saiyans lose their rationality in this state. They become wild, uncontrollable, and immensely bloodthirsty beasts, bringing nothing but death and destruction around them.
GROOOOOAAAAAAARRRR!
The Oozaru that Vegeta had become roared ferociously into the full moon that transformed him. It instantly created a powerful shockwave as his howl resounded for miles, completely decimating the floating chunks of rocks which rose around him due to the massive burst of energy he was emitting, and it continuously intensified with each passing moment.
Vegeta's power caused the entire Earth to shake. Outside the planet, waves of his ever-increasing energy caused everything to tremble as well. Perhaps, it could sense the God of Destruction's terrifying rampage since his existence was connected to everything that exists in the Universe as its almighty destroyer deity.
Whis quickly sensed his master's energy spike up to terrifying and extremely dangerous levels, alarming him greatly. He quickly blasted towards the Earth where he left Vegeta by himself earlier.
"What is this tension I'm feeling? This is bad! Vegeta-sama..! What are you thinking of doing?" Whis questioned. He knew that Vegeta has exceptional control of his primal monkey mind as an Oozaru, but why does it feel like something terrible was going to happen sooner or later?
As he flew as fast as he could towards the planet, he could feel the vibrations caused by the release of Vegeta's overwhelming primal power.
"The entire Seventh Universe is shaking! No… It's not just that… It– it feels like everything in the multiverse is trembling before him! What is this power? And why does it feel familiar, somehow?"
As Whis continued to ask these questions, he couldn't help but feel that something terrible was about to happen. He knew he had to hurry to Vegeta as soon as he could and stop him from his rampage, or else...
The destruction of the multiverse may come.
Chapter 39: Power Unbound
In the heavenly realm where the Multiverse-level gods could observe the twelve Universes, Khalua and his fellow Destroyer Mercenaries were surrounding the Grand Priest, as the Supreme Throne reported to him what he had done earlier with Yonshir about Vegeta and Bulma.
"How do you believe this would conclude, Khalua?" Daishinkan asked him. "It seems to me that Lady Yonshir doesn't agree with your plan. While I can agree that this is one way we could break those two apart, I believe that Yonshir has a point considering Vegeta-san's personality."
Suddenly, the multiverse-level gods also sensed an abrupt explosion of devastating energy happening in the Seventh Universe. This level of power alarmed them greatly, for they haven't felt this much power in over 500 million years.
Not long after that, even the heavens began to rumble. They also saw how the twelve Universes were quaking below them as well.
"Just what is this demonic aura?" gasped Bairee.
"This presence! This power! No way! Could it be..?!" Cheongju gasped as well. It seemed that she could recognize this feeling brought forth by the power they are sensing.
Daishinkan turned to gaze down at the pond that was showing him the vision of Vegeta's transformation. "Hmmm… It is just as I thought…" he murmured.
"What do you mean, Great Daishinkan?" asked Kira.
"While I was observing Vegeta's battle with King Mu in the Null Realm, I began to suspect something was familiar about his power and abilities, especially when I was reminded by the visions the Pond of Oracles showed us," the Grand Priest explained. "I thought I had seen something similar to that form a very long time ago. Vegeta-san reminded me so much of him, and that's when I understood why King Mu strongly believed that he is the Destined Strong One."
"Him? Are you saying that Vegeta Yonsei is–?!" Dara asked, fear and disbelief in her face.
"Yes," Daishinkan confirmed. "The demon lord and warrior deity who was said to represent destruction itself. The legendary destroyer of worlds who was believed to have power equal to heaven... Seiten Taisei, the Great Sage Equal to Heaven!"
"What?! Vegeta Yonsei is the reincarnation of the Monkey King, the Great Sage Equal to Heaven?! One of the ten great demon lords?! The legendary monkey demon lord who became a warrior god!"
"That's right. We all know that the Great Sage was the creator and the ancestor of all the Saiyans. But due to his uncontrollable and rebellious nature, he was punished and was banished into the mortal world 500 million years ago, just as Orochi did two million years ago. After his fall to the mortal realm due to his selfish pursuit for immortality and self-indulgence, the Great Sage disappeared and nobody knew whatever happened to him. Not even Orochi, the dragon god who fell and became the serpent demon, was able to find him two million years ago."
"You mean that the body Orochi was looking to possess was that of the Seiten Taisei?"
"Right," The Grand Priest nodded. "And now, the Great Sage has returned as the Saiyan Warrior Prince who became the God of Destruction of the Seventh Universe, Vegeta Yonsei. No wonder why he was able to master the Secret of Self-Indulgence technique so easily.
"However, the storm is just brewing. By the looks of it, in a few moments, Vegeta is about to awaken his true power, and the prophecy stated that once he reaches his full potential, an incredibly sinister being will be reborn… And you, Khalua, along with Lady Yonshir, just turned the wheels of fate towards the inevitable because of this plan of yours."
Khalua realized what the Grand Priest meant by that.
"It seems that he is well-aware of the full extent of his powers than we thought," Khalua gasped. "He knows that he is more than capable of destroying the multiverse if he wanted to. He knows that we see him as a threat that's why he is confident in rebelling against the higher gods. He could also be aware that he is possibly on par, or more powerful than the King of Nothingness, King Mu, himself!"
The Supreme Throne fell down to his knees and bowed.
"I knew it would be wrong for me to incur his wrath if we put any harm into the mortal woman, but I didn't realize that even my plan of forcing him to choose between his selfishness and her happiness would put us in a greater risk. This is all my fault, Daishinkan-sama! And I deeply apologize for this mistake!" Khalua pleaded. "There's still time! We have to stop him! Please give us the order to restrain Vegeta Yonsei and prevent him from fulfilling the prophecy!"
"No, Khalua!" Daishinkan told him. "For the time being, let's just observe what will happen here and allow Vegeta to prove how much control he has over this power."
"But, Daishinkan-sama–!"
"Worry not, Whis should be on his way to him. Let Vegeta's guide angel take care of him," Daishinkan said.
"It's an ape monster! Run!"
Oozaru Vegeta dashed through the mountains like a wild animal chasing his target prey with unbelievable speed. Any Earthling who found the savage monster running amok instantly ran for their lives, screaming in terror despite how the monkey beast was simply ignoring them as he focused his predator sights on his guardian and Guide Angel. Whis swiftly drifted backwards in the air as he led the colossal monkey towards somewhere uninhibited.
Once they were within a land filled with tall rocks and mountain ranges, Whis tapped on his staff and instantly created a closed space, enshrouding the entire area with his angelic powers and separating it from the reality of the world.
Sensing what just happened, Oozaru Vegeta stopped on his tracks. He gritted his teeth and growled rabidly as he glared at Whis, who levitated at his eye level.
"I know that you are still feeling angry about this Bulma, but I don't think it is time for you to transform into an Oozaru and run wild like this," Whis told him. "What are you planning, Vegeta-sama?"
Vegeta didn't answer just as Whis expected him to do. He roared in his fury, thumped his huge fists against his chest, turned around, and fired fiery red energy blasts from his opened muzzle at several random spots, effectively reducing wherever it hit into a barren wasteland. Has he lost his mind and given himself to his anger and destructive rampage?
Whis shifted so he was in front of Vegeta again, "That would be enough, Vegeta-sama! Have you lost your mind and you are trying to destroy everything?!" he demanded.
Vegeta ignored Whis and continued to rampage like a feral monkey throwing a tantrum. He wanted nothing but cause death and destruction upon this insignificant world.
"Fine, if you truly want to unleash your fury, then let it out on me until you regain yourself," Whis offered.
Vegeta growled rabidly once again, becoming extremely furious about this fool trying to get in his way. He began throwing punches, which Whis had easily blocked with his finger.
Realizing that he couldn't even send Whis flying, Vegeta grabbed the angel with both of his massive hands instead, and squeezed the angel as hard as he could.
"Vegeta-sama!" Whis called out to his lord calmly, even if he could slightly feel the monkey beast's monstrous strength crushing him, making him quite surprised because he didn't expect for Vegeta to be this powerful, yet the guide angel remained composed.
Vegeta growled more furiously back at him, his animalistic rage consuming him even more. Whis didn't try to resist and simply allowed the monster the God of Destruction had turned into to unleash its fury upon him. Whis knew that if he tried to fight back, it would only make Vegeta angrier and it would make matters worse for the Universe. Vegeta was hell bent on destroying everything, and that was giving him more and more power through the Secret of Self-Indulgence technique.
"Vegeta-sama!" Whis gasped when he felt the pressure begin to intensify. Within Vegeta's cloudy mind, he was trying to kill this fake guide angel. This was not the Whis he knew. This world this impostor was trying to save from him wasn't his Universe either. Everything that's around him were not real, and he would destroy this damn place where his Bulma doesn't exist!
He didn't care anymore. This was the cold, ruthless, destructive monster those damn higher gods wanted him to become in the first place, and yet, they still saw him as a threat. This was the beast they feared to awaken, and he will show them all what happens when they incur the wrath of a Saiyan Prince who had become a God of Destruction.
Vegeta's primal powers of destruction began to surge within him, causing the Earth to shake once more. A dense reddish-purple aura seeped out of him, energizing him further. He roared mightily into the skies, unleashing another potent shockwave of energy. The ground exploded around him, blowing away everything, causing massive fissures underneath his feet.
It was then that the entire Seventh Universe became extremely disturbed. Something within everything that exists began to stir, and whatever it was could become truly devastating and could affect the rest of the other Universes.
"Ah! Look at that! Isn't the full moon wonderful!" Panchy mused. Bulma turned her head to look at the view of the sky from where they were dining at the Sky Restaurant.
"A full moon, huh?" Bulma muttered. She also noticed the bright and dazzling stars surrounding it. "How beautiful…"
"They are more beautiful when they face their death and destruction. No matter how small or big a star is, they still create the same light,"
It's that voice again. Bulma recognized. Why does she keep on hearing that voice over and over again? It made her feel suddenly uneasy but it continued to disturb her in every way.
"Right after stars are destroyed, they create a blinding flash of light. And that explosion of light creates enough energy for new stars to be created. That energy will become a new star. This is the reason for my existence. Before creation, comes destruction. I bring death and destruction, leading to the end of one's existence and enabling new beginnings."
She recalled the strange phone call she received moments before she left her office.
"It's me."
"Who are you?" she asked.
"I am Vegeta Yonsei."
"Vegeta…Yonsei? Who are you?"
"I… I am the being whose existence and soul are bonded to yours. No matter which world we are in, I'm sure that the bond we shared will bring us back together no matter what."
"You must remember who I am. I'm sorry that I can't come and save you right now. The reality which you are currently in is something you created through your own subconscious, a wish which you have made in exchange for something very important to you."
What does he mean by that? He cannot come to save her? Why?
"Something important? What do you mean by that?"
"Listen to me, and listen well," he continued. "Bulma… You need to realize where you are and why you are there. You have to make a choice, something which I am allowing you to do. I… I know that we have met under a terrible circumstance and that is because of my own selfish actions. You may not remember me now, but you suffered through a lot because of me. And I'm sorry for causing you all that pain. I really do. I don't even know why I am doing this right now when you don't even remember my voice or who I am to you. But, I just want to let you know that it's all up to you, you're on your own right now, feel free to choose your fate. This time, I will try not to interfere with it again and I will accept your decision. Bulma, just know that no matter what, I… I believe in you. I trust you can do this. I will be waiting for you to come back to me when you're ready. And when you do, search for me in your heart and call me by my name."
Bulma turned around and excused herself to the restroom, where she went to the sink and stared at herself in the mirror. To her surprise, she found her reflection in that mirror to be entirely different than her current physical appearance. She could barely recognize the clothes her reflection wore as something she chose in a mall. Her reflection began to shed tears as more memories begin to flash in her mind.
"Yes, I understand that now, how important your existence is in the Universe," she told him. "Other people say that our existence came from the energy of the stars, and that once we die, all those energies are gathered in the same place. In the end, no matter what, we will meet again. We can always meet there, and we will never be apart."
"If by chance, I decide to destroy this world by tomorrow, what are you going to do?"
"Hmm... I don't know. I guess I will just come to you and spend my last moments being with you watching the world end, since I know there's nothing I could do about it. Even if I try to stop you, an insignificant mortal like me is powerless against the almighty God of Destruction."
Bulma gasped. God of Destruction?
"What I want is to spend my last moments with you. It's terrible to know that you will end the world tomorrow and I can't do anything about it. So instead of trying to stop you, scold you, rant about it, or argue with you, since I know it will only be futile once you set your mind on your decision, I would simply spend my last moments with you. I would stay with you all night like this, feed you with as much Maguro Nigiri I could make, I would cling unto you, never letting you go until it is time for you to do your duty as a God of Destruction. Then I will watch you as you end the world until I disappear in this world in peace. I want my last moments filled with you and our memories together."
"Aren't you afraid of destruction itself? You're not afraid of me killing you or destroying you?"
"I was never afraid of you, Vegeta. I know that you are the most dangerous being in the entire Universe, but being with you takes away all of my fears. It doesn't mean I am not afraid of anything, though. What I am afraid of... is losing you again."
"Vegeta!" Bulma gasped as her memory of him finally returned. What just happened?! Where was she?! Yes, she can recall now that she was in the Yonsei Hotel's elevator with Vanilla, who was doing the Elevator Game. Is this one of those dimensions mentioned in that creepy ritual?
Whatever this place was, she knew that she has to get out of here fast, or else she won't be able to return to her real world!
Bulma wiped her tears away, and walked out of the restroom. She found her family and her fiancé–ex-boyfriend, Yamcha, watching the sky with looks of awe. It hurt her heart to know that what she was seeing was not real. They were just fragments of her subconscious desire to be with them.
They all turned to look at her, and they showed extreme concern when they found her forlorn expression as she watched at them from the distance.
"Bulma-chan?"
"Bulma-chan, what's wrong? Are you alright?"
"I'm sorry, but I have to go," Bulma said.
"Huh? What? Why?"
That one she hesitated to answer at first, but she realized that perhaps, she had to respond to that question after all. This could be something which would help her get out of this place.
"Remember that dream I told you about this morning? The dream where you and papa were shot right in front of me, and it got Taitsu-nechan comatosed in the hospital? That is not a dream. That is the original world where I came from. I don't belong in this place. I have to go back there because someone really important to me is waiting for me. I'm sorry."
"What are you saying, Bulma?!" Yamcha demanded her. "Of course you belong in here. This is the perfect world for you!"
"If you leave, you won't be able to see us again," Dr. Briefs said.
"It doesn't matter anymore. I've already lost you guys, and that is the truth that I'm trying to get over with," Bulma said, her voice breaking as her blue eyes shed tears once again.
"Bulma-chan, stay…" Panchy pleaded with her. "Please, don't go. Don't leave us alone. Stay with us."
"Mama… Papa… Onee-chan… please, forgive me… I truly wanted to stay with you here and be happy forever. I wanted to be with you always. By rights, I should be living this kind of life. This is the world I truly wanted."
"Then why are you going to abandon us?"
"I'm not abandoning you! I never did! But this is all a lie, and I can't live a lie! I'm sure that you won't want me to live a lie, right? And this… This isn't even reality."
"Who cares about that? You are here. We are here. Everything you ever wanted is here. This is the perfect world for you. Here you can truly be happy with us. You can enjoy a much more peaceful life. You could get anything and everything you want. Who cares if it was real or not?! What matters most is your own happiness."
"Someone once told me that there should be a balance in everything. Be it about the creation and destruction in the Universe or between good or evil. He said that in order for something to be created, destruction must occur first. For something good to happen, a terrible thing must pass before that. If this balance is disrupted by losing either creation or destruction, then the Universe is doomed to perish. That's why bad things do happen to people so good things would come to them. People lose something in order to gain something else that's better. And death must happen to give birth to a new life, just like those stars we were watching right now."
"What are you saying, Bulma-chan? We don't understand."
"I'm saying this perfect world can't possibly be true. It's too perfect to be true. There is no balance in this world. That's why I know that this is all a lie, and soon, this world will perish due to its imbalance! I have to go now, so I can continue to live in the real world. I'm sorry, forgive me, but remember that you are always in my heart. I will forever love you, cherish you, and all of our memories together. So please… allow me to go and just watch me from above."
With that, Bulma ran away, leaving her loved ones completely devastated by her decision. As she grew more distant to them, everything slowly disappeared as if they were blown away. She didn't care anymore. Only one person filled her heart and mind at that moment.
Her most important person.
Vegeta!
She can't believe this! Was she being bewitched by someone and she had quickly decided to turn her back and throw him away just like that because she longed for her family and her old life? While she was well-aware how much she longed for these things, she had slowly gotten over it in the past three years. She was happy and content being on Vegeta's side, loving him like no mortal had ever done. This must be done by some higher-level god or something, someone like Mago. Vegeta did say that Mago's comrades were mad about what happened to her, perhaps this was their way of taking revenge on the two of them?
"We will not lose!" Bulma fiercely thought. "I have to get out of here fast. I have to be with Vegeta! He must be feeling lonely and hurt by what I have done. He could be fighting all by himself right now."
What must she do to get out of this place? She tried to recall what Vegeta told her in that phone call.
"You need to realize where you are and why you are there. You have to make a choice, something which I am allowing you to do. You may not remember me now, but it's all up to you. You're on your own right now, feel free to choose your fate. This time, I will try not to interfere with it again and I will accept your decision. Just know that no matter what, I believe in you. I trust you can do this. I will be waiting for you to come back to me when you're ready. And when you do, search for me in your heart and call me by my name."
What the hell was going on here? What was wrong with this place? She finally remembered the most important person in her life and she made her unwavering choice to be with him. She wanted to stay with Vegeta despite the consequences they may face. But why was she still in here? Could it be because she was having second thoughts leaving her family behind? No, that can't be right. She knew she was determined enough to go back to him. If that was true, then why couldn't she get out of this fake world all by herself? Was it because she has no superpowers at all? Was she truly this weak?
Darn it, in the end, she was truly powerless and had to depend on Vegeta's strength to save her. If only she was stronger. If only she had powers just like his... She looked up into the sky, finding the bright and shiny full moon before her. She suddenly remembered that time when he told her his story as a mortal, revealing to her that he was from another planet. She recalled how amazed she was that aliens could look as good as him, and how that explained a lot about his strange style of hair and the tail he had.
"It was the source of a mortal Saiyan's strength whenever we stare at the full moon," that was what Vegeta told her.
"A full moon, huh?" Bulma muttered.
She had this crazy idea to stare at it, hoping that wherever he was, it would help her connect her thoughts to him just like how their bond did when she was in trouble due to Mago.
"Vegeta! Where are you?! I realized it now! I'm sorry! I'm sorry for turning my back on you! Come to me, please! Come to me and get me out of here!" Bulma pleaded in her heart as if she was praying to him, hoping this would reach him.
Oozaru Vegeta was about to unleash another wave of pure destruction when something made him halt his attack. He paused for a moment, trying to realize what that was, and when he did, he finally took control of himself, recognizing what just happened.
"Bul…ma..?" he hazily muttered when he heard her voice call his name within the deep recesses of his mind. Her voice and their bond brought him back to his senses and he quickly removed his hand around Whis, letting him go.
"Have you finally decided to take control of yourself, milord?" Whis asked, inching backwards to distance himself.
Vegeta scoffed. It was true that he allowed the primal monkey mind to take over him while he subconsciously watched his own monstrous destructive rampage. He didn't bother trying to control himself because he saw this world as meaningless to him. He was truly determined to destroy everything...
Until he heard Bulma's voice.
He ignored Whis as he turned around to face the full moon where he thought he heard Bulma's cries for help. Has she finally remembered him and realized where she was?! She was seeking his help to get her out of there, too.
A deep, dark, spine-chilling chuckle resonated from his throat. It was time. He raised his arms in the air, reaching out into the full moon.
There was a legend among the Saiyans about what was called an 'Ultimate Evolution' form believed to be only accessible to the Super Saiyan of Legend.
It was said that the Legendary Super Saiyan only appears among its people once in every three thousand years. This warrior was hailed to be the greatest and most powerful among them all, but because he couldn't control his own power and his primal desire for blood and chaos, he became a bloodthirsty monster, and in turn, destroyed himself due to his overwhelming power.
There was also a story about how before that devastating turn of events, the Legendary Super Saiyan gained the ultimate power after he was said to transform into a rampaging Oozaru and sacrificed nearly five hundred million souls by nourishing himself with their life force.
This was what Vegeta was attempting to do. He would gain the ultimate power in order to reach his full potential and Ultimate Evolution, and the inhabitants of this fake Universe would serve him well in his goal.
The Oozaru growled fiercely. His massive body began to be enshrouded by a thick, ominous, smoke-like aura once again. Slowly, his thick brown fur changed color into byzantium purple. His entirely red eyes glowed brighter until it was a magenta hue, and his entire body got surrounded by the purple flames of his God of Destruction power.
Whis was alarmed by this change. Vegeta was using the Secret of Self-Indulgence technique while in his Oozaru form, his rage and determination burning his fighting spirit further, making him stronger and stronger with each passing moment.
"Gwaaaaaaaaaaoooooooooooohhh!"
Vegeta roared lengthily as if to power up. The ground beneath his feet began to tremble before him once again, then energy started seeping out of those deep fissures he had created earlier during his animalistic rampage. Vegeta absorbed that said energy into himself using the Spirit Control: Forced Spirit Fission technique, which allowed him to forcefully extract energy from anything and manipulate it, then the Spirit Control: Reversed Forced Spirit Fission technique which gave him the ability to combine the extracted energy and absorb it into himself, further increasing his strength. The sky began to darken with black thunderclouds, sending ferocious lightning blasting everywhere. The entirety of the Seventh Universe became restless as its God of Destruction took its energy of existence into himself. Several waves of energy originating from every corner of the Universe, be it on land, water, the skies, and even the millions of celestial bodies out in space, closed in towards him and entered his every pore, strengthening him even further beyond.
The disaster that would shake the entire multiverse had begun. As his power surged, the energy of each and every existence within this Universe was taken equally, which slowly and surely nourished its power-hungry destroyer deity. He absorbed every bit of energy into himself, sacrificing every single thing to achieve his goal. Not a single being was fortunate enough to even realize that all this was happening due to the wrath of their God of Destruction.
Power..! His body was being overwhelmed by this amazing power! So this is the life force of an entire Universe?! It felt so intoxicating! So exhilarating! So powerful! Too powerful for him to contain!
"Aah! Aaaaaaah! Raaaaarghhh! GAAAAAAAAAHH! UWAAAAAAHHHH!"
Vegeta began to scream as he felt his overflowing power ceaselessly swell within him. An ominous looking aura enshrouded his massive body as he welcomed all of this energy penetrating into him, allowing himself to become the ultimate vessel of destruction. Basking in the euphoria brought by this overwhelming power, he let out a monstrous howl into the dark skies to unleash his unrestrained and continuously surging destructive might.
"GWAAAAAAAAAAAOOOOOOHHHH!"
"Just what is happening here? Is he absorbing the very essence of the Seventh Universe using Forced Spirit Fission and its reversed version at the same time to make himself stronger?" Whis wondered to himself as he watched Vegeta power himself up with all the energy that he was calling out from all across the Universe.
"Hmm... This looks familiar to me. What he's doing reminds me of the power of a legendary demon lord who was born and nurtured by the energy of heaven and earth..." he murmured then the Guide angel gasped as he realized something. "That's right. Considering that Vegeta-sama was the Prince of all Saiyans himself... It is possible that he is also... the reincarnation of the Great Sage Equal to Heaven, Seiten Taisei?"
Whis' gaping mouth turned into a satisfied smile as he observed his master being overwhelmed by all this power he was forcing into himself. "Yes. There's no doubt about it. No wonder why he is the Destined Strong One! He was truly meant to become the strongest among all of the gods!"
Embracing his primordial Saiyan instincts while maintaining his control, Oozaru Vegeta let out another boisterous beastly roar, releasing a mighty kiai as he powered up. A stronger shockwave of ki blew Whis away as the God of Destruction underwent another metamorphosis once again.
Engulfed by the electrifying streaks of devastating bio-lightning, the purple flames of his own godly power of destruction, and the energy he absorbed from this Universe, the giant, anthropomorphic monkey beast contorted, twisted, shuddered, and convulsed violently as his bones snapped and reformed, gradually shrinking in size as it changed back into something humanoid-looking.
"Nnnnnghh! Uurghh! Grrr... Grgh! Aaaargh! Aaaaaaahhhh! Gwaaaaaaaahhhh!"
Vegeta's pained, low, deep growling shifted into a choir of demonic screams until it returned to his normal tone, although it was still cold and deep, resonating with the primal rage of the beast.
His hair still had its familiar flame-shape style, but it was wilder and longer, extending to his back and his shoulders. He was also noticeably bulkier in muscle mass. Most parts of his upper body were covered by a reddish-purple fur, except for his hands, chest, abdominal muscles, neck, and face, gleaming with his overwhelming energy. The flashing light created by the unbounded power surrounding him pulsed and intensified, nearly blinding everyone watching his awakening transformation.
"HAAAAAAAAAHHHHH!"
He let out a final thunderous howl once again as his energy burst outwards into the sky, blowing away the swirling, black clouds that gave off devastating lightning everywhere. The light engulfed everything until it gradually dimmed.
Back to the heavenly realm where the higher gods observed Vegeta closely and anxiously...
"What ki is this?" gasped Khalua, feeling the ominous energy that Vegeta had just unleashed even in that distance. He had never felt such intense power from anyone before, with the exception of the three beings they all feared and respected, The King of Everything, the King of Nothingness, and the Great Sage Equal to Heaven.
"This form is indeed that of the legendary warrior god and monkey demon king, Seiten Taisei…" Daishinkan confirmed. "The Destined Strong One has finally awakened!"
"Hmm, this is indeed an interesting outcome," Whis said as he looked down on the rubble and giant rocks caused by the God of Destruction's awakening transformation.
Vegeta blinked his hard gazing magenta-colored eyes, a serious countenance on his stone-like, stern face, smooth and perfectly sculpted, giving away the appeal of a formidable and despotic war deity.
Then his stoic expression softened as he said, "I used to fight for the sake of seeking the greatest strength and become the most powerful warrior among all. When I got what I wanted and became too powerful, I lost my purpose. It was when I began to question what my power was meant to be for. Power without a purpose is meaningless. And a purpose without strength is empty. Being a God of Destruction, I initially thought that this destructive power was only meant to destroy, but I learned through my interaction with Bulma and other mortals that I can also use this strength to save and protect, and for that I suddenly found a new purpose. A new reason to fight… That's why my Universe and everyone on it, especially Bulma, has become something precious to me. You have seen how strong I have become and I continue to grow stronger because of that purpose. I don't want to lose that kind of purpose again. And for that, I need this power.
"This was why I decided to transform into an Oozaru and make use of my Saiyan power combined with my power as a God of Destruction and utilize the Forced Spirit Fission techniques so I could have enough power to destroy this Universe in order to save all of you."
He raised his eyes to look up to his guide angel and ordered him, "So stay back and allow me to destroy this fake Universe. I will turn everything back to normal, Whis," he told his guide angel. "And if you try to get in my way, I will obliterate you myself."
Whis stared at his lord for quite some time, carefully observing him, "Alright, I understand now," he said, finally relenting. "While I do think you're acting a bit strange because you kept on talking, thinking, and feeling upset about this Bulma. Then suddenly, out of nowhere, you decided to go wild by turning into your beast form, and now, you say you want to destroy this Universe because you think this is a fake one. Seriously, Vegeta-sama?"
Whis observed him a little bit more, expecting Vegeta to change his mind, but looking at the God of Destruction's determined countenance told him that Vegeta was serious about his decision. The guide angel sighed, "Seeing you this decisive on doing what you want seems like it's something really serious for you."
"I don't expect you to believe me, Whis," Vegeta told him. "After all, you're also a victim of this trickery. I just can't believe that you fell for it, too, but I think I understand now why I am the only one unaffected by this."
This was a test for him after all. Plus, aside from that, perhaps, it was also due to his strong will, the bond he shared with Bulma and his connection to his Universe that allowed him to know that something was inherently wrong.
"I do believe you, Vegeta-sama," Whis told him. Vegeta's eyes widened at that, surprised.
Whis gently smiled back at him as he continued, "I know you better than anyone, milord. I know how you react when something gets serious. So despite how I initially reacted about your odd behavior, know that I still believe in you. Plus, it's not like you would let anyone stop you from doing what you want." he chuckled. "So go ahead and do what you must. I will be waiting for you in the real Universe."
Vegeta smirked back at him and nodded, "Yeah, thank you, Whis. I will see you later."
"And before you miss me, I just want to say that your new form looks cool. It reminds me of someone I met a very long time ago."
"Huh?" the God of Destruction blinked. What does he mean by that?
He looked down on himself. He never even got to appreciate his new look. He could see that he was bulkier than his normal form, and that his arms were covered by a silky, purple fur. He also noticed that he had longer hair and his fingers ran through the extended back part of his hair that reminded him of a low ponytail.
"Gaah! What the hell happened to me?!" he screamed. "What's with all this fur?! Is this form some kind of half-humanoid, half-monkey thing?! Is this an evolution from the Oozaru form?!"
He touched his face, feeling every part of it, "Well, at least, my face is still as handsome as ever… Bulma wouldn't be frightened by how I looked right now, right?" he murmured to himself with a pouty look.
Vegeta shook his head, and snapping himself out of those thoughts, "Argh! That's it! Why am I so worked up about my appearance? What's more important is the power I now hold!" he declared, looking down at his fists.
Yes, this power… this overwhelming energy surging through every part of his being. It feels so good, so primal… So powerful! And it's endless! With this power, he knows that he was now capable of doing multiversal feats, affecting more than two of the twelve Universes. Heck, he could probably destroy all twelve if he wanted to! But yeah, he'd rather not think about that for now. There was something more important for him to do, which was why he needed this power in the first place.
Vegeta rose from the shattered ground, levitating in the air until it looked like he was floating at the center of the image of the full moon. He flexed his arms on his sides, his fingers curling into a tight fist and he began to focus his mind, spirit, and body. At this point, the air surrounding him began to vibrate as Vegeta concentrated his energy. He closed his eyes, raised his hands over his head and began to chant using the divine language of the deities:
"I, Vegeta Yonsei, the God of Destruction of the Seventh Universe, command the essence of this Universe to combine with my power! The time of your judgment has come!" he declared. A highly concentrated flow of energy began to whirl above his hand as it coalesced into a dark, purple orb of ki.
"Surge and awaken! Let my full power of destruction flow through me! I desire for a destructive power without equal! Before creation, comes destruction! I will turn all creation into dust! This is the judgment of the God of Destruction! Be destroyed!"
"GAMMA BURST EXPLOSION!"
He thrust his hands forward, releasing the collected energy into a massive blast which burst into a mighty explosion. It was strong enough to shatter universal barriers, allowing for a portal to burst open right in front of him while everything else that surrounded him fell to its path of destruction as bestowed to it by its destroyer deity.
The said portal would lead him into the parallel dimension his mind and his heart wished to connect to. The place where his beloved Bulma was calling him out.
Before Vegeta entered that portal, he turned around to appreciate the destruction he had caused to this fake Universe.
"It's so beautiful. The moment of destruction of an entire Universe," he smiled and declaring in an imperious voice, "Let this energy be used to recreate the Universe in its original form and lead us back to the real Seventh Universe!"
He raised his index finger above his head, absorbing all the energy left by the destruction of that Universe into himself before he entered the other fake Universe where Bulma was.
The full moon's brilliance seemed to intensify, causing Bulma to shriek and cover her eyes with her forearms. Suddenly, the bright light exploded, and she heard a blast that sounded like breaking glass, then a powerful shockwave pushed her back. Everything that surrounded her turned black at that moment.
"Bulma! Hey, Bulma! Stay with me, Bulma! Hey!"
She heard a familiar voice repeatedly call her name from afar, but she couldn't open her eyes as she felt her eyelids grow heavy. She thought she saw Vegeta's face but he looked kind of different than before. Is that really him? She asked herself as she drifted off to unconsciousness.
"Vegeta-chan truly lives up to his title as a God of Destruction, the Legendary Destroyer of Worlds," Yonshir declared, arriving at the meeting hall where Daishinkan and the Destroyer Mercenaries were watching Vegeta's penchant for destruction. Just now, after he had retrieved an unconscious Bulma, he destroyed that other Universe just as he did with the one he came from. "He managed to destroy two Universes in order for him to be with Bulma once again. With this, I can say that he truly loves the mortal woman," Yonshir continued.
"Lady Yonshir," Daishinkan acknowledged the reality-warping goddess' presence.
"Have you finally noticed it, Daishinkan-sama? Vegeta-chan's similarities to the Great Sage Equal to Heaven?"
"Yes, with that form containing that level of power and those abilities he had, plus his rebellious personality, pride, and arrogance, it seems that Vegeta Yonsei is indeed the reincarnation of the Seiten Taisei."
A bright light abruptly burst behind them, and Vegeta, in his new form he decided to call as 'Primal Self-Indulgence' since it was a combination of both his powers as a Saiyan and a God of Destruction, appeared before them all. His unexpected presence caused Yonshir and the Destroyer Mercenaries to turn to him uneasily. Only the Grand Priest remained calm. Vegeta was carrying an unconscious Bulma in his arms, as he glared at the Multiverse-level gods standing right before him. A terrifying, cold expression upon his stern face, showcasing his silent, unbridled fury.
His presence alone brought intense fear to the multiverse-level gods, with the exception of the Grand Priest himself. Vegeta could smell their fear of him even from that distance. He could see that they were even trembling before him, their knees were shaking and their teeth were grinding. Their eyes betrayed their terror as they watched at him with tensed poises.
"Such an intense and powerful aura…" Khalua observed. Indeed, the aura surrounding Vegeta was ominous and massive. It was terrifying to feel. He couldn't comprehend just how much power he now had, and he knew that what he was letting out was still barely the tip of the iceberg.
"If you know what's good for you, don't you ever do this foolishness again," Vegeta warned them. "This is the second time you have already done this, and I will let this incident slide again for one last time just because this helped me achieve a new evolution. But the next time you touch this mortal woman, I swear this isn't the only kind of destruction you shall witness."
"How imprudent! How dare you threaten the gods!" Bairee sneered, trying his best to ignore the fear that's shaking him to the core, willing himself to step forward and pretend to be brave enough to stand up to this demon.
Vegeta's icy gaze moved to focus on him, causing him to silently squeak.
"I will not move if I were you, or I will not hesitate to obliterate you all in here," the God of Destruction warned. "You should know that with this power, I could easily do that right now. It's just a pity. I would have unleashed the full force of my wrath here. Even I can't comprehend how great the rage I am feeling right now," Vegeta uttered darkly. "You should feel grateful for the presence of this woman. Otherwise, I would have declared a war against all of you."
"What?!"
"But don't think that because I am trying to control myself right now would mean that I'm soft. You have no idea, even I am surprised by how intense my anger is right now. If you are foolish enough to enrage me even further, I will prove to you why you should fear riling me up the most."
"Why are you here then? Surely it's not because you just want to show us this new form of yours or brag about your newly acquired powers," Daishinkan asked with an amused smile.
"Yeah, about that," Vegeta muttered. "I came here not to go into another berserk rampage. I didn't want to bring more harm to my Bulma than necessary. While I announced my warning to you, I also want something for you to do in exchange for us passing this test of yours."
Because of his absence in the original Universe, Vegeta believed that it must have ceased to exist as it got replaced with the fake world where he lost Bulma. This was the reason why he absorbed the essence of that Universe into himself so it could be restored to the way it originally was when Bulma existed there.
"I would like to make an appeal to Daishinkan. I want Yonshir to restore my Universe to the way it was before you decided to make a mess of it," Vegeta announced. He lowered his eyes to his hand, forming a sphere of energy containing the essence of the Universes he just destroyed in his palm. "This is the energy of existence I collected when I destroyed those two fake Universes she created. I will give you the permission to use Bulma's memory fragments to help restore everything back to its normal state. That's all I am here for. This is the only payback I want from you after all the trouble you did."
Everyone was surprised at that. They expected for Vegeta to go on a rampage and decide to obliterate them, thus initiating a war against the multiverse-level gods, but he didn't.
"Alright," Daishinkan agreed. "Since you managed to beat this test, I will grant you that as your fine reward. Lady Yonshir, please do as Vegeta-san wishes."
"I understand, Daishinkan-sama," Yonshir obeyed.
"Also, since you and Lady Bulma managed to break through the obstacles we put you both through, from now on, we will let you two be together. You have proved us wrong about you and I commend you for being able to do so. You may do as you wish with the mortal woman, but we cannot assure you that she will be safe from your powers as a God of Destruction. We already tried warning you about that, so it will be up to you now. You have my blessing, Vegeta-san."
That was enough to make Vegeta finally smile and humble himself by dropping to one knee and bowing down to the Grand Priest in respect, "Thank you, Daishinkan-sama!" also finally addressing him with the proper honorific.
While Yonshir was restoring Vegeta's Seventh Universe in its normal state, using the unconscious Bulma's memory fragments about it as her basis, there was something that began to concern her. An ominous vision abruptly flood her mind causing her to gasp in horror and feel a familiar fear. Yonshir recognized this cold, terrifying feeling as being similar to what she felt the first time she got haunted by a mysterious, fearsome entity. This caused the Grand Priest to ask her what was wrong and she sent those visions to the Pond of Oracles for everyone to see.
It showed them a pregnant woman about to give birth.
"Hm? Is that Hikari Ishida?" Vegeta recognized.
"You know her?" Daishinkan asked.
"Yeah, she was a crossfire victim during one of my deals with a human," Vegeta responded. "Why would Yonshir have a vision about such an insignificant mortal giving birth?"
"Daishinkan-sama, could that child being born be the one mentioned in the prophecy?" asked Kira.
Daishinkan turned and eyed Vegeta critically, observing his new form and recalling how the prophecy mentioned the rebirth of a great evil once the Destined Strong One awakens to his full potential.
"Prophecy? There's another one?" Vegeta asked, noticing Daishinkan's eyes on him. Why was he staring at him like that? Does the Grand Priest also think he's cool too, just as Whis told him?
"Vegeta-san," Daishinkan said. "I am giving you the command to destroy this woman along with the child in her womb."
"Huh? Why?" he questioned once again, blinking his eyes.
"That child she carried with her will bring about the doom of the entire multiverse," Daishinkan explained.
"But how? Isn't that just a mere human child?"
"No, Vegeta-san. It may look and feel human, but inside it is a seed of great evil with powers enough to cause great trouble in the multiverse one day. He will bring about the second heavenly war amongst the gods if he is allowed to reach his full power."
"Oooh? Is that right?" Vegeta beamed excitedly. "A great heavenly war, huh? I think I heard that somewhere before. Was it the one caused by the Orochi two million years ago?"
"Where did you learn that?!"
"Heles told me. Why? Is it supposed to be a secret only I wasn't allowed to know?" he asked. "I remember there was also a time back when I was a mortal when I overheard the others speaking about me being the one from the prophecy after Whis relayed something to King Zen. Is there another one of those things?"
"Wait–you understood and remembered all of that?" Daishinkan asked, surprised. They were speaking in the language of the gods back then so there's no way Vegeta would have understood any of that.
"No, I didn't understand what they meant at the time, but I did when I started learning the language of the gods after I became a God of Destruction. I could learn and recall a lot of information really well, and because back then, I felt insulted and disrespected that you guys were speaking about me in a language I couldn't understand, I decided to listen to it all and retained those words into my memory so I would understand it when I finally learn the language."
"I always thought that Beerus calling him a genius was a bit kind of exaggerated, but he indeed is one heck of a prodigy," Kira uttered.
Daishinkan shifted his eyes away, "Well, yes, Vegeta-san. There is indeed a prophecy pertaining to you being the Destined Strong One. When Whis relayed that vision made by Yogengyo at the time, we didn't expect you to be the one mentioned in the prophecy. But then, King Mu believed that it was you, and many signs also pertained to you, like when you were the only one who managed to master the Secret of Self-Indulgence technique. And now, by reaching this new form of yours, you have fulfilled it completely. The next part of the prophecy says that once you have reached this peak of your potential, a great evil will be reborn into the world, thus leading to the Second Great Heavenly War."
"Oh… " Vegeta muttered. "So what's that got to do with me? I mean, that great evil thing? Is he supposed to be someone I'm destined to fight with or something?"
"Hmm… I guess so. But the prophecy did mention that the Destined Strong One is going to be the only one with enough power to stop it and the second heavenly war from happening."
"That's it? That was boring," Vegeta complained with a pout.
He began to think, and then his eyes widened and his lips crooked up into a psychotic smirk.
"What are you thinking?" Yonshir asked, not liking that look Vegeta was giving off.
"I'm thinking of letting them be," he answered.
"What?!"
"I say let that child grow and tap its full potential. Only when that happens I will personally deal with it and destroy it myself!"
"Have you lost your mind?!" Yonshir yelled at him. "We are talking about a great multiverse-level threat here, not just someone who would become your plaything to cure your boredom or satisfy your thirst for battle! Your recklessness is what will get you destroyed, Vegeta-chan! I say you destroy it now while it's not as much of a threat to us!"
"Big deal! I don't want to destroy something so helpless as a mere unborn child!"
"That unborn child will destroy us all, Vegeta-chan! If you let it be then it might grow too powerful not even you could handle!"
"I am no coward! I was a Saiyan Warrior prince! I cannot be proud of that title if I do that just because I feel threatened about my opponent's strength! A proud Saiyan warrior does not turn away from a fight! So don't act like you are so worried about me. I will see just how strong this bastard is and I will fight it when the time comes!"
"Ugh! This is why I never liked the Saiyans of the Seventh Universe. They are just pure fighting maniacs who couldn't care less about what happens to everyone so long as they get what they want," Choengju muttered, rolling her eyes off as the Destroyer Mercenaries watched Vegeta and Yonshir argue while the Grand Priest listened to their banter.
"Alright. Alright, that would be enough for both of you," Daishinkan said, separating Yonshir and Vegeta as if they were his arguing little children. "Vegeta-san, I will consider your plan. But, you better make sure that you will get your job done and destroy him. Be aware that if you fail on this, the consequences will be dire."
"Of course!" Vegeta declared confidently. "With this unbounded power, no one would dare stand in my way! Rest assured that I will take care of the problem when the time is right. For now, we will continue investigating the time rift that appeared on Earth and that mysterious island. I got a feeling that all of these are connected in one way or another."
"Wait, Daishinkan-sama! Are you actually permitting him to do as he wants?!" Yonshir protested.
"You heard him," Vegeta said to Yonshir with a victorious smile. His smile shifted into a serious look as he turned his intimidating eyes to the Destroyer Mercenaries, the back-up to the Gods of Destruction in case they failed to do their command. "And if anyone of you tries to get in my way again, I will obliterate you! Don't you dare anger me even further," he threatened with a cold tone, his glare dark and ominous, making the members of the special destroyer group frozen in fear.
"Vegeta-san, don't you forget that you promised King Mu that you will never obliterate any immortal without his approval," Daishinkan reminded him.
Vegeta snorted out loud, the corner of his lips stretching upwards into a sinister smirk.
"Of course," he said. "This is nothing but a mere threat if anyone of them gets in my way again. Because the next time they do, I will make sure that even the King of Nothingness won't be there to save them. Just so you know, I'm a very vengeful god and I don't play fair, got that?"
Before Vegeta left the heavenly realm to return to his world, along with Bulma who was still unconscious in his arms, he asked the Grand Priest to create a new power limiter for him. He said he managed to break the last one so he needed something that could handle his new power well. Daishinkan made one with a simple snap of his fingers.
Once Vegeta was gone, Daishinkan chuckled to himself as he shook his head, "He never changed. He was still as cocky, arrogant, and overly confident about himself and his power just as he did before his fall to the mortal world," he uttered. "With the Seiten Taisei back, there should be nothing for us to worry about. I'm sure King Zen and King Mu will be delighted to know that. Still, we have to make our own preparations just in case something goes wrong."
He turned to the Destroyer Mercenaries and commanded them, "We have to prepare ourselves for the Second Great Heavenly War."
Author's Notes: "Seiten Taisei" is the Japanese translation of the Chinese name "Qitian Dasheng" (齊天大聖) which translates to "Great Sage, Equal of Heaven," a title Sun Wukong placed on himself when trying to win the respect of the heavens the second time by force. Sun Wukong is the "Monkey King", the character from the Chinese Classic Novel "Journey to the West", that inspired the original Vegeta from "Dragon Ball" along with Son Goku.
It is said that Vegeta had more similarities to Sun Wukong than Goku himself. Besides their shared desire for power and immortality, Sun Wukong and Vegeta also have several other similarities:
1. Strong-willed and Determined: Both characters possess an unwavering determination to achieve their goals. They never back down from a challenge and are willing to push themselves to their limits to become stronger.
2. Pride and Arrogance: Sun Wukong and Vegeta are both known for their pride and arrogance. They have a high opinion of their own abilities and often look down on others. This pride sometimes leads to conflicts with other characters.
3. Transformations: Both characters have the ability to transform into more powerful forms. Sun Wukong has his famous "72 Transformations" technique, which allows him to change his appearance into various creatures and objects. Vegeta, on the other hand, can transform into a Super Saiyan, unlocking immense power and changing his appearance.
4. Redemption Arc: Both Sun Wukong and Vegeta go through a redemption arc in their respective stories. They start off as antagonistic characters but eventually develop a sense of loyalty and become allies to the main protagonists. This growth showcases their ability to change and evolve as characters.
Due to this, I decided to incorporate some elements from JTTW into this story, making Vegeta the reincarnation of the Great Sage Equal to Heaven after his fall in the mortal world. Please note that the depiction of "Seiten Taisei" on this fic won't be accurate to that of the Classic Novel.
Vegeta's attack, the "Gamma Burst Explosion" is derived from "Gamma Burst Flash" named after gamma-ray bursts (GRBs), which are immensely energetic explosions that have been observed in distant galaxies, considered to be "the most powerful class of explosions in the universe". These are the most energetic and luminous electromagnetic events since the Big Bang.
