Hey guys, TheDoctor1998 here with another chapter! Last time, Cinder and the gang came across a Charmander, which turned out to be the starter of Damian, and Cinder adopted the little guy while managing to get her fellow Pallet Town trainer behind bars. Now, on with the show!

Cinder and her friends were walking down Route 25, the blind girl being in a good mood and whistling some tune she heard a while ago. Unfortunately, her good mood wasn't to last, signalled by her foot suddenly getting stuck in the dirt. Then, the ground gave way, causing the entire trio to fall into a pit before they even realised what was going on.
"Not another hole!" Misty complained, painfully getting up.
"I landed on my head." Brock groaned, rubbing his forehead in pain.
"What is it with all these fucking traps lately?!" Cinder screamed in frustration. "First the Hidden Village, then Team Rocket, now this?! Who the fuck did this?!"
Then, five heads appeared over the hole, laughing at their misfortune. They were Squirtle, each wearing sunglasses, four of them rounded, one of them pointy.
"That wasn't funny!" Misty glared. "We could've been seriously hurt!"
The five Squirtle only laughed harder, leaving the hole.
Cinder quickly managed to climb out of it, glaring at the Auras of the group as her friends came out behind her. "Hey Pikachu, wanna teach these jerks a lesson?"
"Pika!" Pikachu nodded, and quickly lept off of Cinder's shoulder, firing a Thunderbolt at the Squirtle wearing the pointy sunglasses, likely the leader. Another Squirtle, however, quickly jumped in front of him, taking the hit and getting knocked out from the super effective attack.
"Squirtle Squirtle!" The leader yelled out in panic, seeing one of his squadmates going down that fast. He glared at the offending Pikachu, who was simply giving them all a smug smirk. The two Pokémon stared at one another, both waiting for the other to make a move. Then, the sound of a siren rang out, prompting the leader to call out to the rest of his gang. "Squirtle!"
The rest of the group quickly picked up their fallen comrade, running away as fast as their little legs could carry them, leaving a confused group of humans and one Pikachu behind.
Then, an Officer Jenny came rushing to the group on her motorcycle. "Are you kids alright? Is anyone hurt?"
"Yeah, we're okay." Cinder said. "Bit bruised, but nothing that needs a trip to the hospital."
"Thank goodness." Officer Jenny breathed. "Tell you what, I'll make sure you kids get to Rusty Town without issue. Never know when those Squirtle strike again."

"We call that Pokémon gang the Squirtle Squad." Officer Jenny said behind her desk, having brought the kids to her station.
"I've never heard of a Pokémon gang." Misty said, surprised.
"They're all Squirtle who were deserted by their trainers." Jenny continued, a tinge of sadness in her voice.
"Not again." Cinder muttered. First her Bulbasaur, then her Charmander, now this?
"They just run wild and play tricks on the whole town. Graffiti, theft, vandalism, that kind of thing." The officer explained. "It's really sad, though. If they weren't abandoned, if they had someone who cared for them, they wouldn't have turned out like this. It's a real shame." She lamented.

Meanwhile, a certain group of somewhat competent criminals was watching the gang through their binoculars from the top of a hill. "There, I see the brats." Jessie said. "And Pikachu's still with them."
"Do you see a restaurant?" Meowth asked, rubbing his belly. "I'm kinda starving over here."
"No more pizza though, I've had enough of that." James piped in.
Jessie merely hit them both in annoyance.
"I'm sick of pizza for every meal!" James angrily said.
"You'll never eat again if you mess this mission up!" Jessie threatened.
"Can we do noodles?" He meekly asked.
"Or maybe some tacos?" Meowth suggested.
Jessie growled and hit her fellow stooges again. "Am I the only member of our squad that thinks world domination and our general criminal enterprises are more important than lunch?! Now let's focus on getting that Pikachu!" Then, she got interrupted by her own growling stomach. "...Maybe grabbing a bite isn't such a bad idea." She said, grabbing a picnic basket, much to the joy of James and Meowth.
"Yes!" The blue haired man said, pumping his fist.
"Yay, we're gonna have a picnic!" Meowth yelled, jumping in joy.
Then, the trio heard something behind them. Looking back, they saw a group of five Squirtle standing there. "You guys got a problem?" Jessie asked.
"Squirtle Squirtle!" The leader of the group said to them.
"Meowth, what's it saying?" James asked the talking Pokémon.
"He said "Give us your food, or else."" The Normal Type translated.
"You're threatening us?" Jessie scoffed. "We're Team Rocket, the most powerful criminal organisation in Kanto and Johto."
"Squirtle Squirtle!" The lead Squirtle taunted, beckoning for them to come forward.
"Let's show these little creeps."
"I'm game." James agreed, stepping towards the Squirtle Squad with his teammates. Only for them to fall into a hidden pitfall.
Pretty soon, the Squirtle had Team Rocket all tied up on a tree, and started devouring their food in front of them. Rice balls, sandwiches, sodas, they all vanished into the mouths of the Water Types.
"Oh no, they're eating the jelly donuts and eclairs!" Jessie moaned.
"They're drinking all the lemonade!" James cried.
"This is cruel and unusual torture!" Meowth cried, forced to watch with an empty belly as the Squirtle Squad ate the stolen food.
"Squirtle." The leader said mockingly.
"Those aren't Squirtles, they're Snorlax." Jessie glared.
"They're starting on the last sandwiches." James moaned. "We've gotta do something!"
Jessie thought for a moment before getting a spark of inspiration. "Hey, Squirtle, how would you guys like to do a little job for us?" The Squirtle Squad stopped eating, their full attention now on Jessie. "There's these three kids with a higher than average Pikachu, and our boss would be most appreciative if you helped us catch it. He'd make it worth your while."
"Squirtle Squirtle." The leader waved Jessie off, getting back to his sandwich.
"What did he say?" James asked their translator.
"He said "Forget it, we know humans can't be trusted."" Meowth answered.
"Then convince them to trust us." James whispered.
"It won't be easy, but I'll see what I can do." Meowth shrugged as best as he could before looking at the Squirtle Squad. "Hey, Squirtle, both of these humans belong to me."
"Belong to?!" James gasped.
"They'll never trust you two, just let me handle this!" Meowth urgently whispered back.
"Why you little-" James growled, seeing how Meowth is taking advantage of the situation.
"These humans are my pets." Meowth cut James off. "I've trained them, but they're pretty stupid." He noticed the leader look in interest, not entirely convinced. He needed to step it up a notch. "Bad human, don't you ever raise your voice against me again!" He started hitting James with his feet. "Bad human! Bad, bad human!"
"Squirtle, Squirtle." The leader nodded, convinced. He then started talking to the rest of the squad, ordering one of his subordinates to lower Meowth and Meowth alone.
"See, you guys can trust me." Meowth laughed as the leader undid his bindings. Pretty soon, he was joyfully eating a rice ball with the Squirtle Squad.
"Meowth, what about us?!" Jessie screeched. "Untie us too!"
"At least give us some food!" James begged.
"Be quiet." Meowth hissed, jumping onto them and using their shoulders as a seat. "We gotta keep up this act until the Squirtle trust me, and that's gonna take a little time." He then gleefully ate up the last of his rice ball in front of them, milking this situation for all it was worth.

On their way back on Route 25, the gang had decided to take a little break. Cinder and Brock were laying on a grassy bank, enjoying the sunlight on their skins, as Misty was fishing in the river.
"Hey, I caught something!" Misty said, pulling on her fishing line. Unfortunately, instead of a fish, she caught a member of the Squirtle Squad, who quickly decided to fire at them with her Water Gun, drenching them all as she laughed. "I'm soaked!" Misty complained.
"No shit, Sherlock." Cinder said, already starting to shiver from the cold air on her soaked body.
Then, Pikachu started sparking, though being careful to make sure nothing came on his trainer or her friends. He's lived long enough to know that water conducts electricity, after all, and he doesn't want to shock them.
Squirtle only laughed at him and jumped out of the water, taunting the group with her laughs, much to their annoyance.
"I've had enough of your pranks, Squirtle." Cinder told the Water Type. "Pikachu, Thunderbolt!"
Pikachu quickly fired a bolt of electricity at the Water Type, though she managed to dodge it with surprising speed. Then, she retreated into her shell and started spinning, going right after Pikachu with a Rapid Spin, knocking him into the water.
Then, a Goldeen came by. While this was nothing to be worried about normally, this particular Goldeen was friends with the Squirtle Squad, who asked him to do a little favour. Goldeen rushed towards Pikachu, intending to strike with his horn.
Pikachu saw this coming and dodged each strike, though he eventually got fed up and attacked with a Thunderbolt. While this would normally be devastating, this particular Goldeen had his Hidden Ability unlocked, allowing him to draw in the electricity and gain strength from it. Unfortunately, Pikachu was so flabbergasted by seeing a Water Type shrug off his attack with such ease that he was left open, allowing Goldeen to hit the Electric Type with several devastating strikes in a row, launching him straight out of the water with some severe looking wounds.
"Pikachu!" Cinder screamed, running towards her Pokémon. Unfortunately, she was immediately caught by a rope. "What the fuck?!" She glanced back, seeing through her Aura that both Misty and Brock were also likely tied up, with all three of them being unable to reach their Pokéballs. Glancing back further, she saw the Auras of the other three members of the Squirtle Squad holding the ropes, their leader behind them. Then, the Squad quickly ran around the humans, tying them up together, the leader laughing at their misfortune.
Another horribly familiar laugh echoed from behind the trees. "You're not gonna Squirtle out of this one!" Meowth punned. "Alright boys-"
"Squirtle!" The Squirtle that knocked Pikachu in the water yelled.
"And girl. Geez, let me finish before interrupting with that at least." Meowth rolled his eyes. "Let's get these filthy humans to the lair."

After leading the trio to a cave, Meowth and the Squirtle Squad tied the gang up to a stalagmite, trapping them in place as the wounded Pikachu was trapped in a cage. "I'm the Pokémon in charge here." Meowth laughed. "Just wait till my human pets get back! Nye nye nye nye nye~" The feline Pokémon taunted, poking Cinder's face with his tail.
Cinder, however, was not having it, and bit the Normal Type in the tail as hard as she could. After smirking a bit at his screech of pain, and spitting out what fur got in her mouth, she turned to the Squirtle. "Squirtle, please, don't believe him! Those humans aren't Meowth's pets, they're his criminal teammates! Team Rocket is just trying to trick you into doing their dirty work for them, their whole job revolves around stealing rare, strong, and powerful Pokémon!" The blind girl pleaded.
"Squirtle?" The leader questioned. Did he make the right choice in trusting Meowth?
"Quiet human!" Meowth screeched, intending to get some payback with his claws. Thankfully, Cinder managed to get her head out of the way just in time, causing the Normal Type to scratch the wall of the cave instead. "Yeowch!" He yelped, holding his paw in pain before composing himself again. "Who are you going to believe? This filthy human, or a fellow Pokémon?"
"Squirtle!" The entire Squad said in unison, one particularly enthusiastic member raising his hands while cheering. It was obvious they trusted Meowth over a random human.
"Cinder, Pikachu's in bad shape." Brock said, seeing that the Electric Type still hadn't woken up.
"We've gotta do something." Misty said, not wanting something bad to happen to Pikachu.
"He needs a potion, stat." Brock said, glancing at the Pokémon. "No, better make that a super potion, just to be safe."
"Brock, Misty, do either of you have one in your bag?" Cinder asked, some desperation clinging in her voice. Unfortunately, both her friends shook their heads.
"I saw a shop back at Rusty Town sell medicine, they should have plenty of super potions there." Brock said.
Cinder turned to the Squirtle, a pleading look in her blinded eyes. "Squirtle, please let me go back to Rusty Town! I need to get him that medicine before he gets worse!"
"Squirtle squirtle squirtle." The leader shook his head.
"They know you humans are just trying to get away." Meowth translated.
"I won't abandon my friend!" Cinder yelled. "Please, just trust me, I'll come back as soon as I get the medicine, I promise!" She pleaded.
"Squirtle." The leader scoffed.
"Squirtle says promises are cheap, especially those of a human." Meowth translated again.
"I'm begging you, don't let him die." Cinder said shakily as she started to cry. "I know how horrible humans can be, believe me, I know from firsthand experience. But please, don't let Pikachu pay for the awfulness of my species."
Squirtle started feeling conflicted, watching as her tears fell to the cave's floor. He's never seen a human cry before, especially not over a Pokémon. He glanced at the Pikachu, and he had to admit, maybe Goldeen was a little bit too rough on him. "Squirtle!" He ordered, prompting the other Water Type Starters to untie Cinder and Cinder alone.
"Squirtle Squirtle Squirtle." The leader said to Cinder, prompting Meowth to translate.
"He's saying that if you're not back by night, something real bad will happen to the redhead." The Normal Type snickered.
"Why you mangy little flea trap!" Misty screamed, giving the Pokémon a kick he barely avoided. "When I get outta here I'm gonna wrap your tail around-"
"Also, you can't take your Pokémon." Meowth interrupted. "Can't risk you using them to attack us, can we?"
"Erm, Squirtle, I'm blind." Cinder said awkwardly. "Kinda need to have one with me if something happens."
The leader thought of it for a moment. "Squirtle." He nodded.
"He says you can take one." Meowth shrugged, not really caring which one she took. Sure, the Bulbasaur and Charmander would fetch a pretty penny, but he got what he came for.
"Thank you." She whispered to the turtle, grabbing Charmander's Luxury Ball. "I'll be back as soon as possible!" She yelled, releasing Charmander and running out of the cave, trusting the Fire Type to alert her of any obstacles.
Meowth simply smirked. 'Even if she does come back, we'll all be long gone.'
XXXXXXXX
'Just hold on Pikachu, I'll get you that super potion.' Cinder thought to herself as she ran down the hill. Unfortunately, she stepped on a rock, causing her to lose her balance and fall over.
"Char!" The Fire Type yelled in panic.
"I'm okay." Cinder grunted. "We need to get going!" The girl said, rushing back towards Rusty Town.
"Char Char Char!" Charmander yelled in a panic, seeing that the bridge Cinder approached was clearly unsafe.
"Something wrong with the bridge?" The heterochromatic girl asked.
"Charmander!" The Fire Type mimed as well as he could, trying to convey that the bridge was old and rotten.
"Fuck." A moment of silence passed. "You think we can get across if we're careful?"
Charmander pondered for a moment. The bridge looked like it could give out at any time, but it looked like it could be crossed. "Char." He nodded, knowing what was at stake.
Cinder carefully started crossing the bridge, making sure to listen to Charmander to avoid any holes and missing planks whilst gripping the rope like her life depended on it. She did test each plank that was there before stepping on them with her cane, causing at least four of them to fall out. Thankfully, the duo managed to get across, and not a moment too soon considering the cacophony Cinder heard behind her, which caused her Fire Type to freeze on her shoulder.
"...The bridge just collapsed behind us, didn't it?" The girl shakily asked.
"C-Char." Charmander nodded.
Cinder didn't say anything further, and rushed right into the western themed Rusty Town.
"Char Char!" Charmander yelled, seeing the shop and pointing at it.
"Thanks Charmander." Cinder smiled, rushing to the shop. Just as she was about to open the door, it opened up and slammed into her face. "Arceus fucking damnit!" She hissed. She was about to curse out whoever just did that, but shut her mouth the moment she recognized Gary Oak's Aura. She was in no mood to deal with the arrogant trainer, nor did she have the time.
She just hoped she could get back in time.
XXXXXXXX
Back at the Squirtle Squad hideout, everyone started to get worried. Both the humans and the Squirtle were worried about Pikachu, with the former praying that Cinder got back in time, and the latter simply thinking that the girl abandoned them all.
Meowth was also worried, though for a much different reason. 'Where are those two bozos already?'
XXXXXXXX
"One super potion, please!" Cinder panted, having rushed into the store after making sure Gary didn't see her.
"Here you go, dear." The man behind the counter smiled, quickly grabbing a super potion and giving it to her after she paid. He then saw something behind her. "Quick, get behind those crates girl!" The man hissed, with Cinder obliging, following his finger.
And not a moment too soon, as both Jessie and James entered the building, holding a bazooka and a machine gun respectively. "Alright, freeze!" Jessie threatened the clerk and customers.
"It's Team Rocket!" One of the customers yelled, recognizing the uniforms marking them as members of the infamous organisation.
"Listen up!" Jessie continued. "We want all the flash powder and gun powder you got!"
"Oh, and a large roll of dental floss." James said politely, as if he wasn't threatening the shop with his gun.
"Wh-what do you need them for?" The clerk asked, not being able to reach his own gun without arousing suspicion.
"You want to get rid of the Squirtle Squad, don't you?" Jessie mockingly asked.
"Also, dental hygiene." James added. "Even criminals need it, and we just ran out."
"Alright, here. Just don't hurt anyone." The clerk said, grabbing all the powder behind him while adding a large roll of the floss.
"Ciao for now." James smirked, putting his gun away and grabbing the products.
"Farewell~" Jessie smirked, firing the bazooka into the store as she and James left. Thankfully, it only released a smokescreen and cherry blossom petals to mask their escape.
"I need to get back to Pikachu." Cinder said, getting out of her hiding spot. Only for her to hear some clicking noises, and judging from the Auras of the other customers and Charmander freezing again, it was clear that they were pointing their weapons at her.
"Stop!" The clerk said, having grabbed his own gun but not pointing it at the girl. "She's just a kid, stand down guys!"
The other customers, understandably spooked, immediately lowered their guns while muttering their apologies.
"Is everyone alright?!" Officer Jenny asked, rushing into the building. She noticed everyone seemed to twitch a bit at her appearance, but she decided to ignore the fact all four guns were almost pointed at her. Considering she just heard an explosion and saw the Team Rocket squad that attacked the Vermilion Pokémon Center heading away in their balloon, she'd forgive it.
"Officer Jenny, I need a ride, please!" Cinder pleaded.
The officer could easily hear the desperation in the girl's voice. "Alright, hop onto my bike. You can explain on the way."
Soon, the two were on Officer Jenny's bike, the officer racing towards the entrance of the cave system the girl told her about. However, the two soon stopped. "What is it?" Cinder asked.
"The bridge collapsed." The officer replied, turning around and following the canyon. "I know another way into those caves."
High above the two, a certain Meowth shaped balloon floated above the destroyed bridge. "These bombs should do the trick against that Squirtle Squad." James said, eager to get some revenge.
"Good riddance. Once we get that Pikachu, those little jerks will pay the price for stealing our food." Jessie smirked, wanting to get rid of those pests once and for all.
XXXXXXXX
"Here's another route into the cave." Officer Jenny said, having brought the girl over. "It's way too narrow for an adult to go through, but a kid like you should be able to squeeze through it."
"Thanks for the help, officer." Cinder smiled before heading in.
"Be careful, Cinder." Jenny told the girl.
"Charmander, can you lead the way?" Cinder asked her newest Pokémon.
"Char, Char!" Charmander nodded, hopping off of her shoulder and walking in front, leading the blind trainer through the cave. Eventually, the two of them managed to reach the Squirtle Squad hideout, finding everyone to be missing.
"Pikachu, Misty, Brock, where are you?!" Cinder asked in worry, rushing out of the cave. Thankfully, she saw her friends standing next to the Squirtle Squad and an annoyed Meowth. The trainer wasted no time, gently taking Pikachu from Brock and spraying the super potion on the Pokémon. "I see you're okay, Misty."
"Yeah, I am." Misty nodded.
"The Squirtle Squad was just bluffing." Brock explained.
"They pull tricks, but they'd never seriously harm someone." Misty continued, causing the Squirtle to laugh.
"I'm just glad I got here before-" Cinder started, before getting cut off by an explosion in the distance. "I just had to open my fucking mouth, didn't I?"
"To protect the world from devastation!" Jessie called, the Team Rocket balloon lowering.
"To unite all people within our nation!" James continued, both he and his partner showing the bombs in their hands.
"To denounce the evils of truth and love, to extend our reach to the stars above!" The duo said in unison.
"Jessie."
"James."
"Squirtle Squad, it's payback time." Jessie smirked.
"Bombs away!" The two declared, throwing the bombs all over the forest.
"Meowth, hurry up!" Jessie called, throwing down a rope ladder from the balloon.
"And the rest of you are in for a real blast." James joked.
"Hehehe." Meowth laughed, holding a still recovering Pikachu in his arm as he held onto the ladder with the other.
Cinder glanced back, noticing Pikachu's Aura no longer being in the place she put him. "Oh that sneaky little motherfu-" Cinder started before the explosions cut her off again. "Quick, everyone, into the cave!" She wasn't worried about a potential avalanche trapping them, the route she'd taken should've been just wide enough for even Brock to get through.
Brock, Misty, and four of the Squirtle Squad ran into the cave for cover. Cinder was about to get in when she heard a cry for help. "Squirtle!" The Squirtle Squad leader had fallen on his back, and was struggling to get back up.
Cinder acted on instinct, and ran straight towards the Water Type, covering him with her body as an explosion threw several rocks against the girl.
"Cinder!" Misty yelled in concern.
"Are you okay Squirtle?" Cinder asked the Pokémon, groaning in pain.
"Squirtle." He shakily said, dumbstruck in sheer disbelief that a human of all things would risk her life for him.
"Here come two more!" Misty yelled out, seeing Team Rocket throw another pair of bombs at them.
"C'mon Squirtle, don't give up on me now!" Cinder grunted, getting up and carrying the Squirtle Squad leader to the cave as fast as she could, though her right arm was screaming in protest. 'Gotta let Brock take a look at that one later.'
Up above, the criminal trio was watching as Cinder managed to dodge all the bombs through sheer blind luck, though it ultimately didn't matter. If they'd bury the cave entrance, they'd get rid of the Squad either way. "No more Squirtle Squad!" Jessie celebrated, uncaring of the fires they started.
"Think that town is gonna give us some medals?" James smirked.
"Doubt it." Meowth shrugged. "You two did just rob a store at gunpoint."
"Not so fast, assholes!" A familiar voice said.
"Who said that?!" Jessie asked, looking over to see Cinder, standing on top of the cliff with the Squirtle Squad leader by her side. "Weren't they-"
"Didn't they-" James interrupted.
"How did they-" Meowth also interrupted.
"There's a way from the cave over here, jackasses." Cinder interrupted, annoyed. "Squirtle, Water Gun at the balloon!"
"Squirtle!" He nodded, shooting a blast of water at the balloon, almost but not quite piercing it. It was definitely enough to rock the basket though, as James dropped Pikachu.
"Spee!" Beedrill came to the rescue, catching Pikachu between her stingers and holding him as tightly as she dared. "Spee Spee!" Beedrill called to Squirtle, who instantly upped the power in his Water Gun, breaking the balloon open and causing Team Rocket to fly away.
"Team Rocket is blasting off again!" The trio screamed as their balloon went out of control.
"Forest fire!" Brock yelled in alarm, noticing the flames Team Rocket had created had started going out of control. "Those blasts must've set it off!"
Officer Jenny drove up to the kids, having found another way around. "If this keeps burning, the whole town could go up in smoke!" She yelled in alarm.
"Don't worry, I'm sure we've got all the help we need." Cinder smirked at the officer before turning to the Squirtle Squad. "Squirtle, can you help with this? Your Water Guns should do the trick against this fire!"
The leader nodded, intending to repay the girl. "Squirtle Squirtle!" He ordered the Squad, each of them meticulously using all the water they had to fight this fire. The five of them made swift work of the flames, and soon the only trace of it that was left were the burnt trees left in their wake, much to the amazement of the humans.
XXXXXXXX
Later that day, the humans and the Squirtle Squad entered Rusty Town, telling the news of the fire started by Team Rocked, which was heroically put out by the Squirtle Squad. The Pokémon instantly became celebrities in the western themed town, prompting Jenny to give them a ceremony the very next day.
"And so, we gratefully give these medals of heroism to the Squirtle Squad for saving our town from the fire." Jenny said, giving each of the Pokémon a medal. "And in honour of your skill and bravery, we proudly offer you the position of the Rusty Town firefighters!" The officer proclaimed, offering each of the Water Types a black and white uniform, which the five Pokémon wore with pride.
"How's the arm?" Brock asked Cinder.
The girl simply rubbed the bandage on her right forearm. "Already feeling better. You're a miracle worker, Brock." She smiled.
"Eh, it's nothing much." The older boy shrugged. "My siblings have gone through plenty of scrapes of the years, it's just kinda something I picked up. I'm just glad it wasn't anything worse."

Cinder and the gang were walking down Route 25 once again, Cinder happily watching Pikachu skip down the road, just glad he was alright.
Then, the group heard a familiar cry. "Squirtle! Squirtle!" The Squirtle Squad leader called out, prompting the gang to turn around. He wasn't wearing his uniform, but he was still rocking those cool shades of his.
Cinder had a feeling as to what he wanted. "Hey Squirtle, want to come with us?" She asked kindly.
"Squirtle!" Squirtle took his glasses off, revealing a set of sparkling red eyes. Needless to say, he was excited at the prospect.
Cinder laughed and knelt down, allowing Squirtle to give her a hug. "Welcome to the team, Squirtle!"
"Squirtle!" The Pokémon replied in joy.
"Guess I've got a new Pokémon!" The girl enthusiastically said.
"You're so lucky!" Misty jokingly whined. She did want a Squirtle of her own, of course, but it was clear that this Squirtle was much closer to Cinder than her.
"Hey, Squirtle." Cinder started.
"Squirtle?" The Pokémon questioned.
"Like I told Charmander, I've got more Pokémon than I'm legally allowed to take with me now, so when I catch you you're gonna get sent back to Professor Oak." She said, holding out the Luxury Ball. "Don't worry though, I'll make sure to rotate you guys as much as I can." She smiled at him.
Squirtle smiled, put his glasses back on, and tapped the Luxury Ball. It didn't even wiggle before it teleported back to the ranch.
"Thank you, Squirtle." The girl smiled.

And that's a wrap. Cinder and the gang encountered the Squirtle Squad, and Cinder ironically managed to convince them that not all humans are bad, with their leader deciding to join the girl that saved his life.
Also, I decided to make a few minor edits to the episodes, just to make things flow a bit better in my opinion.
