Tony's workshop, Stark Industries
New York City, USA
Inside a hi-tech lab, Tony Stark the CEO of Stark Enterprises and secretly the superhero Iron Man was preparing a suit of red and gold armor.
"Sir, you have a visitor in your office." A robotic voice spoke to Tony.
"Who?" Tony asked the A.I
"Bruce Wayne." He became nervous and started getting ready for his guest. He then ran to the door and opened it.
"How can I help you?" Tony nervously asked.
"Just checking up on a fellow businessman." Bruce stated.
"Right this has nothing to do with your late-night activities as Batman does it, you came to find the genius inventor to improve your detail strategies to take down the Hulk?" Tony asked.
"No, my plans for the Hulk will work as plans for other heroes across the United States if they pose a threat like my plans or you or are still trying to convince the world Iron Man is your personal bodyguard." Bruce said.
"Let me guess electromagnetic pulse please I've already thought of sixteen countermeasures for your EMP batarangs or Disruptor." Tony said.
"I have other plans for you Stark what do you and Senator J Allen Carter plan for nuclear disarmament and Superman as a champion for the course?" Bruce asked.
"A bold strategy but in the long run not completely doable even with the Boy Scouts' help consider what some of the students at the school in Westchester for Gifted Students or any mutants." Tony said.
"Indeed." Bruce said then a beep came from a pager device Bruce then left the office and took an elevator down to the lobby. While Tony went back to what he was working on.
Out in the Nevada desert
A metal hammer with a short handle was stuck in the ground. A well-built man with blonde hair slowly walked towards it.
'There you are.' The man thought out loud.
He then attempted to pick the hammer up but had no luck doing it. The failure to lift the hammer left him sad. So he left the area.
Remote Island
Diana and Hippolyta ride on horseback along the beach of a mysterious island in the middle of the ocean.
"These omens don't bode well, Mother. Mankind may be facing it's darkest hour again." Diana said.
"Mankind has always faced it's darkest hours and will have to face them alone, taking into account what happened with Captain America's battle with Hydra and them using the Space Infinity Stone." Hippolyta said.
"Why didn't Odin entrust us to protect the Space stone?" Diana asked her mother.
"Having an infinity stone near the gates to Tartarus is bad news. We couldn't allow Hades to have something that powerful if he ever escaped his imprisonment. He could be dangerous." Hippolyta said.
"What if Hydra messing with the Infinity Stones is what is causing these bad omens now? The world doesn't have Captain America or the Justice Society of America to protect it from the threat?" Diana asked.
"No one has ever found all six stones. And even if they did, no one is nearly powerful enough to use them all without destroying themselves." Hippolyta said.
"We should help again, Mother." Diana said.
"No, remember the last time we helped mankind? It cost us the lives of several sisters when Hydra invaded our island in an attempt to free Hades. So whatever happens beyond these shores doesn't concern us. Here, the gods will protect us." Hippolyta said as she rode off.
"I hope you are right, Mother." Diana said as she noticed someone in the sky it was the faint image of Uatu the Watcher.
'If Uatu is watching then it must be bad I must return to man's world to help protect the world from this threat.' She thought.
Central City, United States of America
A streak of red electricity shot through the city, emanating from Barry Allen, a forensic scientist at the Central City Police Department, also known as the superhero the Flash. He gained his super speed after being exposed to chemicals altered by the Speed Force.
Utilizing his super speed, the Flash suddenly changed direction and entered a different street. Along the way, he encountered a woman dressed in a black and yellow costume. (Similar to her outfit in Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes. She also possessed the same personality as her character from the show.)
Barry raised an eyebrow in confusion as the Flash and Wasp faced each other. Wasp continuously fired stingers at the Flash, who skillfully dodged them with his super speed reflexes.
"Lady, please calm down." The Flash told Wasp, effortlessly evading her stingers.
"You appeared out of nowhere and startled me!" Wasp yelled frustration which was evident in her voice.
"I apologize." The Flash said, uninterrupted in his dodging movements.
"You could be the Speed Demon for all I know." Wasp argued, her accusation making Barry angry.
"Don't assume I'm that bastard beside my costume us red I would have thought that was a dead give away." He hollered, his anger palpable.
"Prove it." Wasp shot back, her doubt fading as she noticed that the Flash's eyes were not glowing like the Speed Demon's. This convinced her.
"Sorry about the misunderstanding." Wasp apologized sincerely.
The Flash then turned around, and Wasp followed closely behind.
"Why are you following me?" He asked.
"Like I said was tracking down a speedster by the name of Speed Demon he's wanted in New York for bank robbery. He robbed seventeen banks in an hour and stole half a million from each of the banks." Wasp said.
"Oh great, another speedster for me to deal with he has already been in Central City for two days and has already stolen from ten banks and two museums." Flash groaned out loud.
He was frustrated with the recent crime spree in Central City.
"Well." Wasp began to speak. "I can probably help."
She was offering her aid to find Speed Demon.
Flash took some time to think about it.
Wasp would get a answer from him later.
She flew off in a different direction.
She was noticed by someone who looked like half man/half machine.
A portal then opened behind the figure and he stepped through it.
The portal then closed behind the figure.
The figure happened to be Victor Stone. He was known as Cyborg.
Elsewhere
Someone dressed like a archer jumped across some rooftops.
The man's name was Oliver Queen, a businessman from Star City and secretly Green Arrow.
Green Arrow looked after the little man as opposed to most other heroes on earth.
"Time to head back to Queen Industries." In his civilian identity, Green Arrow was in charge of his own business.
In deep space
A meteor entered Earth's atmosphere and started to burn up.
The meteor crashed into a field.
A bizarre white creature stepped out of the flames that had been produced.
It was a member of the Imperium.
They had laid waste to the planet Mars in the distant past and now they set their sights on Earth.
If the Imperium wanted to cause trouble on the planet like they did with Mars, they would have to go through Earth's heroes.
Outskirts of Detroit, Michigan - Evening
Green Lantern John Stewart and Kyle Rayner along with Richard Rider of the Nova Corps landed with synchronized ease on a desolate stretch of pavement, the evening sky casting a purple glow over the horizon.
"So, rumor is Hal had his ass handed to him by a squirrel.
Is that true?" Nova asked.
"I have no idea what you're talking about. No such video exists." John replied with a raised eyebrow.
"Neither have I." Kyle added.
"Come on, guys. Kilowog's been bragging about it nonstop. He said his top recruit C'hp turned Hal into a punching bag in the training yard. I need to see that." Nova said, grinning.
"That video is classified property of the Guardians of the Universe. It's not available for the Nova Corps entertainment. Not even for the right price. And you're a fellow Marine - I expected better from you." John frowned.
"I'm just saying...making fun of a Air Force officer is practically tradition. How much we talking? Fifty bucks? A hundred?" Nova asked.
"You're thinking too small. That video is comedy gold. We're talking at minimum a hundred. US dollars. Not Xandarian credits." Green Lantern replied.
"Man, you're ruthless. Even Guy Gardner was knocked out by G'nort and that video made the rounds in under a hour." Nova said, pretending to reach for his wallet.
"Guy's got a glass jaw. Little Mac from Punch Out could take him down and email the footage." John chuckled.
"Exactly! So, why not this one?" Nova asked.
"Guy would probably track the two of us across the galaxy to get revenge." Kyle noted.
Then the tone shifted.
"We're here because Nova Prime determined that the Imperium is targeting Earth." Nova narrowed his eyes.
John's smile faded and he nodded grimly.
"I don't think Earth has the means to stop them." He said.
"Neither do I." Kyle continued.
"The Imperium is worse than the Brood and Phalanx combined. In any case, I still haven't forgiven the Guardians for allowing Galactus to devour that uninhabited world in Sector 19." Nova stated.
"There wasn't any sentient life remaining on that world. I bet Sinestro is taking it hard since he was assigned to protect that sector during that period."
"Figures. Who do you two think is worse? Galactus, Thanos or Brainiac?" Nova asked.
"You mean, who'd wipe out a world faster? Galactus devours planets. Thanos and the Black Order murder half of the population. As for Brainiac, he saves cities - just to keep them in bottles like trophies. Pick your poison." John remarked.
"Y'know, for space cops, we sure see a lot of apocalyptic threats." Nova replied with a smirk.
"Yeah, but the thing is...Earth always manages to find a way to fight back." John noted.
