"so...this is the drawves mine then" Tsunami hummed and both Ace and Deuce startled before spinning around and seeing her and Skull there as well
"why are you here?!" they both exclaimed as they looked at the duo
"why do you think Grim decided to hide in the chandelier" Skull hummed as they approached
"we wanted to chat, so Chrome put an illusion up that made it appear the chandelier broke" Tsunami explained and Chrome nodded from beside Deuce.
Both Ace and Deuce froze stiff as they looked at the three students that couldn't be sorted, the three students that seemed to be siblings yet didn't share any facial features or hair colour.
"...what?" Ace asked as he looked at Chrome with wide eyes in shock and slight horror as he realised that her illusions had been strong enough that the headmage had believed that the chandelier had broken.
"yeah, it was all Tsu's idea" Skull hummed as his purple eyes glinted while they walked towards the mine and stopped by the abandoned cottage, the three not from Twisted Wonderland knowing instantly that something was up...but why should they ruin the fun?
"...why?" Deuce questioned this time, his focus on Tsunami who hummed softly as she looked around the old cottage
"you both seemed interested in Chrome and Grim's situation...i simply wished to know your intentions" the brunette hummed as she turned her gaze on Ace and Deuce, both heartsbuly students freezing as for the briefest of seconds, they swore they saw a cold amber gaze within those warm brown eyes.
They both swore that they had seen amber instead of brown within Tsunami's eyes...but perhaps it had been a trick of the light...but what light was there within this dark abandoned cottage that could have possibly caused them to see amber within her brown eyes. Ace and Deuce shared a look together to make sure they had both seen the same thing, but neither Chrome, Skull nor Grim seemed to have reacted...so maybe they were seeing things...right?
Skull smirked quietly to himself as he watched how uneasy the two were after seeing Tsunami's eyes flash amber for a brief second, ah how he enjoyed messing with youngsters
"so, you two want to explain why you both are interested hmm?" Skull hummed with a smirk upon his face as he stared down the ADeuce duo, his own purple eyes glinting coldly, he could see the way the two seemed to freeze even more from the combined look of him and Tsunami, something Chrome seemed to find almost comforting as she smiled at her sky and fellow element.
"..well...it's obvious she can use magic...and yet she lets the monster use magic for her" Ace started to explain and Deuce nodded
"We don't mean anything rude by it...at least I don't...but I was curious about why exactly she lets him use magic in her place and why even the teachers seem almost to allow it" Deuce nodded. He at least seem to be more polite about his curiosity than Ace was.
Both Skull and Tsunami both shared a look as they listened to the ADeuce combo explain why they were so interested in the situation between Grim and Chrome, it was almost harmless the reason they wanted to know.
Tsunami looked at her dearest mist who looked back at her and hesitated slightly before she nodded her head slightly
"tell you both what...why don't we get the stone Crowley set you to get, and maybe then we'll tell you" Tsunami suggested to the duo who nodded in agreement
"that sounds reasonable" Deuce agreed and he elbowed Ace in the side when he tried to protest
"after all, you don't know us that well" The more responsible of the ADeuce combo nodded and Ace grumbled but otherwise relented.
"Good, now come on, let's go into the mine and find the stone the headmage wants and get out of here" Tsunami nodded as they left the cottage and headed towards the mine that was close by the cottage, which was good on their part for it to be so close, means less walking and also means they could have a much easier escape should thing go south.
It was quiet within the mines as the group of six entered, crystals and ores littered the walls, ceiling and even the mine floor as they entered and started to look around for the magestone they had been sent to find within the abandoned mines.
"this place gives me the creeps" Ace shivered as he was startled by a sudden noise from deep within the mines
"eh, we've been to creepier places" Skull shrugged nonchalantly as they kept walking and ignored the concerning noises they could hear within the deeper parts of the mines, after all, why should the three of them be scared of those long-dead?
They've dealt with ghosts and those wanting to be gods... what's a few more ghosts to deal with?
Chrome hummed softly as she carried Grim in her arms, her eye glancing around the area as they walked, keeping an eye out for any ghosts or whatever is within these mines that's classed as 'dangerous' to Tsunami's intuition, because there was something...
"Really?" Deuce spoke curiously as he glanced at them and Tsunami nodded this time
"yup, trust me, Skull, Chrome and i have been to creepier places" the brunette hummed almost as if to try and reassure the other two that this wasn't creepy...but it only seemed to freak the other two out slightly.
"what's creepier than this?" Ace inquired almost in shock that something could be creepier than an abandoned and haunted mine filled with glittering gems and ores
"a ghost town of a massive city before it sunk" Skull hummed with a deadpan at the two
"an abandoned school that's crumbling apart and filled with traps" Chrome piped up softly with a hint of a smile and the ADeuce duo looked at Tsunami who paused and looked at them before she smiled sweetly.
"A massive castle filled with assassins hiding in the shadows that you don't realise are there" the brunette spoke still her sweet smile upon her face
"can't forget a prison run by the undead" Skull snorted and the two boys just shivered again in fear and creepiness from the places that were being described to them.
"Why would you even go to those places?!" Ace exclaimed in shock
"What he said!" Grim piped up this time while also looking at the three humans he lived with in Ramshackle
"Because" the trio replied with smiles, not choosing to elaborate any further than that to them.
"oh! There's the magestone I think" Chrome spoke as she spotted a glittering stone close by and Tsunami smiled
"nice spotting" the brunette praised her mist who smiled quietly in response proud that she had spotted the stone and that her sky was happy.
The group of six went to get closer to the stone before Tsunami suddenly snapped her head in the direction of a dark tunnel of the mines, her eyes narrowing darkly before they widened
"move!" she called as she pushed Ace back, Skull grabbed Deuce and Chrome as they moved back and away from the mage stone.
Just in time for a massive pickaxe to hit the ground where they had just been standing, the pickaxe was being held by a being with a ink jar for a head and red frayed clothes
"..stone...mine" the being groaned angrily as it raised the pickaxed up high again
"run for it" Tsunami ordered and they listened to her as they rushed from the mine and away from the pickaxe.
"what the fuck was that?!" Ace demanded once they were safe out of the mine and looking back into the entrance of the mine in sheer terror
"...probably something that the headmage didn't know about" Skull spoke up and Tsunami was staring at the entrance almost in thought as she tilted her head while staring at the entrance, she could have used her flames, but with the gemstones inside she didn't want to risk cutting off their way out if the crystals melded and fused together.
"if we want that magestone, we'll have to lure it outhere" Tsunami spoke up while Ace had been arguing with Deuce about leaving or not
"what?" Ace spluttered at her and Tsunami turned to look at them
"you both need that magestone to not get expelled, the only way we can get it is by going through that thing" Tsunami started to explain
"if we lure it out here, it will be easier to defeat, which means we need to get the stone to lure it out here" the brunette continued as she started to explain her plan to the group. Chrome and Skull were already on board with the plan...it was Ace, Deuce and kind of Grim that she had to convince to follow and listen to her plan.
Hello everyone! i have added this author's note because i realised i had used the wrong wording about a chapter or two ago...
It was pointed out by a reader and i thank them for that, however i would like to explain why i used the word 'continent' instead of 'city' when it came to Atlantis which i'm sure some of you worked out.
While yes Atlantis has always been thought of as a city, it also had it's own island, so it was a city apart from any others...as such I wrote 'continent' but really I probably should have said 'city.
I do apologise for the confusion caused regarding it.
I have fixed that incorrection now and i do hope you forgive me.
I probably should have researched that part a little bit more...
Anyway! I have fixed the typo and it shall now say 'island city' instead of 'continent' like it did before.
