Chapter 31: The Android's Arrival

One year had passed since Goku collapsed from the heart virus and recovered, and now, the day of reckoning had arrived. Goku and Kara met with the rest of the Z Fighters at the location Trunks had warned them about. The group included Piccolo, Krillin, Tien, Yamcha, and Bulma, who surprised everyone by arriving with a baby in her arms.

"Wait a second," Krillin said, staring at the baby. "Bulma, is that your kid?"

Bulma smirked, bouncing the baby gently. "Yep. His name is Trunks."

The group exchanged glances, with most assuming the child's father was Yamcha.

Kara glanced at Goku, her expression amused. She knew the truth, but before she could stop him, Goku blurted out, "Oh, so this is Vegeta's kid!"

The group froze, and Bulma's eyes widened. "What did you just say?"

Goku realized his mistake and scratched the back of his head nervously. "Uh... nothing?"

Bulma narrowed her eyes. "You said Vegeta. How do you know that?"

Goku chuckled awkwardly. "Uh, well, I gotta go!" With that, he flew off, leaving the group in confusion.

Kara caught up to Goku mid-flight, arms crossed and an unamused look on her face. "Goku! You couldn't have kept that to yourself?"

"I didn't mean to!" Goku said defensively. "It just slipped out!"

Kara sighed, shaking her head. "You're impossible."

The others quickly caught up, with Krillin shouting, "Hey, what's going on? How does Goku know this stuff?"

Goku rubbed his neck nervously. "Well... it doesn't matter now, does it? Trunks is already born, so everything's fine!"

Kara glared at him, but before the conversation could continue, a massive explosion echoed in the distance.

"They're here," Piccolo said grimly, his senses on high alert.

The group flew toward the source of the explosion and found Android 19 and Dr. Gero (Android 20) wreaking havoc on a nearby city. The androids, calm and methodical, showed no signs of urgency as they destroyed buildings and terrorized civilians.

Goku's eyes darkened as he took in the destruction around him. Innocent people were caught in the crossfire. He had to act fast.

Before engaging, Goku quickly formulated a plan.

"If we fight here, too many people will get hurt," he thought.

Goku landed between the androids and the civilians, his golden aura flaring to get their attention.

"Hey, scrap heaps!" he called out. "You want to fight me, right?"

Android 19 and Dr. Gero both turned toward him, scanning his energy levels.

"That's correct," Dr. Gero said. "You are our primary target."

Goku smirked. "Then how about we take this fight somewhere else?"

Without another word, he blasted into the sky at full speed, leading the androids away from the city.

The androids hesitated only for a moment before giving chase, their jet-like propulsion allowing them to follow.

"Goku's leading them away," Kara said, relief in her voice. "Smart move."

The rest of the Z Fighters followed at a distance, waiting for the perfect moment to step in.

Far from the city, Goku came to a halt over a desolate mountain range, making sure there were no civilians in harm's way.

"Alright," he said, cracking his knuckles. "Now we can fight."

Goku charged at Android 19, his speed and power overwhelming the android. The others watched in awe as Goku's punches and kicks sent shockwaves through the air.

"He's... so fast," Tien said, barely able to keep up with Goku's movements.

"What's even more insane is how he's staying transformed without breaking a sweat," Krillin added.

Kara smiled faintly. "He's been working on this for months. He wanted to make Super Saiyan feel like his base form."

Within minutes, Goku dismantled Android 19, leaving the android a broken heap on the ground. Even Dr. Gero seemed momentarily stunned by Goku's power.

"This isn't possible," Gero muttered, his mechanical eye analyzing Goku. "He's far stronger than my calculations predicted."

Before Gero could retreat, a new energy signature appeared on the horizon. Vegeta landed, arms crossed, his golden aura shining.

"So, Kakarot," Vegeta said with a smirk, "you've been busy. But don't think I'll let you have all the fun."

"Vegeta?" Piccolo said, surprised to see him in his Super Saiyan form.

Vegeta's confidence faltered for a moment as he saw the remains of Android 19. "You already finished one of them?"

Goku grinned. "Yeah. Guess I'm faster than you."

Vegeta scowled. "Tch. You've had your warm-up. Now it's my turn."

But before Vegeta could attack, Dr. Gero took advantage of the distraction and escaped, his flight path erratic as he fled toward the mountains.

"He's getting away!" Krillin shouted.

Goku's expression hardened. "We can't sense his energy. He's an android."

"We need to split up," Kara said. "He can't have gone far."

The group quickly dispersed, searching the area for any sign of Dr. Gero. Kara, using her X-ray vision, scanned the mountains in all directions, but to her frustration—she saw nothing.

"How is that possible?" she muttered, narrowing her eyes. Even lead walls couldn't block her vision completely—unless...

She suddenly realized the truth.

"He's covered himself in lead," she said aloud, her fists clenching. "That's why I can't see him."

Piccolo frowned. "He planned for this."

Kara focused her superhearing, trying to pick up any trace of movement, but there was only silence.

"He's not making any noise either," she muttered, frustration creeping into her voice. "No footsteps, no breathing, nothing. He's masking every possible way we could track him."

"That android's more cunning than I thought," Vegeta growled. "He knew exactly how to counter all of our abilities."

Despite their efforts, Dr. Gero managed to disappear into the mountains, completely undetectable.

As the group regrouped, Vegeta's frustration was evident. "How could we let that tin can get away?"

"He was prepared for us," Kara admitted, crossing her arms tightly. "He planned every possible countermeasure—hiding his energy, covering himself in lead, and even avoiding making sound."

Goku clenched his fists. "Then we have to act fast. He's probably heading to his lab to activate the other androids."

Bulma, who had stayed behind at a safer distance, suddenly gasped. "Wait... if he gets to his lab, he could activate something worse than these two!"

Everyone's expressions darkened.

"We'll find him," Kara said firmly.

Goku nodded. "Yeah. And when we do, we'll finish this."
