"So tell me more about yourself Bobby" said Kooper as he slurped up some of Bobby's infamous soup, snuggled up in blankets next to a fire in an underground bunker in Turbulent City.
"Well, I started off by being born at the California Mansion, and grew up there for a while. Then after I finished my schooling, I did some basic training and went to the Main Mansion on Boo Moon Island to complete my full training, and I worked in and around the Spectral City Centre and Main Mansion for a while while rotating jobs.
"What did you do while you were there? How did you become so high ranking amongst your people, being only second to the spectral king? What was your life like before you finished your schooling? And why have you been assigned to save us.
"Hmm. Well it all began when….." Bobby pondered as it looked at the ground.
Flashback
Bobby sat on a scenic cliff vista, happily munching away on his sushi, and playing with the flowers. Then King Boo floated over to him and sat next to him.
"Nice view isn't it" said King Boo.
"Yes, your grace, it is indeed" said Bobby.
"Come for a swim with me in the hot springs" said King Boo. The two did a cliff dive into the Ice Pool.
"Brrrrr it's cold. But so exhilarating" said King Boo. They then swum over to the hot springs.
"Want some sushi?" asked Bobby, who had brung some sushi with him to eat in the hot springs.
"Don't mind if I do" said King Boo as he ate some sushi and farted into the hot springs.
"You are by far the brightest and most brilliant boo that I have ever seen walk this earth" said King Boo. "I want a captivating life ready for you, not to be bored out of your mind with the usual processes for us boos. How would you like a job" said King Boo.
"I'd love a job" said Bobby.
"Excellent" said King Boo as he clasped his hands together.
"What is it?" asked Bobby.
"Well you would start by doing some basic training here, then you will go to the Main Mansion on Boo Moon Island for advanced training to become a special spectral duty soldier. The position entails extensive tasks and fulfillments. You will be second only to me after completion of your training and some naturalization" said King Boo.
"I couldn't ask for a better life than that, your grace" said Bobby.
"Good. I knew that I could count on you. And call me Barry" said King Boo.
After this, Bobby began to complete his training. He completed it in remarkable record-breaking time, and by just six months he was the head train department pest removal defence officer at Spectral City Centre Station, and after only a year he was an advisor to King Boo. After a mere two years he was King Boo's right hand man.
Eventually it was found out that Bobby was to win the Gold Medal for Special Services to the Spectral World on his 21st birthday.. His parents were so proud of him. Chief, Bobby's father, hosted a celebratory feast to celebrate Bobby getting the award, and Maggie organized a surprise party for him.
"So what is this thing that you want to show me mum" said Bobby.
"You'll see sweetheart, you'll see" said Maggie. She then led him to a large, dark room.
"Why are we going into a dark room. And why does it smell of so many different types of food. I swear I can smell the whole menu of Boo Burger in here" said Bobby.
Hal spat out his food. "Wait, Boo Burger. What the hell is that. Some franchise that you created. Bahahaha".
"It's a restaurant chain that I created. And stop making fun of me" said Bobby, who was clearly getting upset.
"What's on the menu, "Bobby's Big Burger" AHAHAHA" Hal spat. Bobby then proceeded to punch him in the face.
"OW" shouted Hal.
"Serves you right. This is not the guy to make fun of" said Crescent.
"Anyway" said Bobby.
Flashback
"SURPRISE" shouted a crowd. The lights turned on and behold Bobby was a giant hall filled with a crowd of boos cheering him on. There was food and decorations everywhere-pizza, sushi, ice cream, cake, banners, sparkles, fireworks.
"Congratulations Bobby" King Boo said gleefully. "You've won the Gold Medal for Special Services to the Spectral World". Everyone cheered him on.
"Go on pal. He's waiting for you" nudged Chief, who couldn't hide his smile. Bobby floated up to the stage and King Boo greeted him.
"I cannot begin to describe how proud I am to bestow this award to young Bobby here" said King Boo. "And I would like to invite a surprise guest up to the stage to honor him with this prestigious prize". Soon enough, a oddly looking boo with very long arms floated up to the stage to greet him.
"Hello Bobby" he said, shaking Bobby's hand. "My name is Ruffles everyone and I am thrilled to say that Bobby is the winner of the Gold Medal for Special Services to the Spectral World" as he placed the medal over Bobby.
"He saved me, not to mention all of the so many other amazing things that he has done" said Ruffles. But Bobby couldn't be further from celebrating his glory. He began to tear up.
"Everyone, I cannot express how touched I am that you would do this for me. I love all of you and could not have gotten here without you" said Bobby. The crowd cheered him on as King Boo turned on the disco lights and turned on the hot tubs. He then grabbed Bobby by the hand and they started to scoff down pizza and get drunk on ghost liquor, and they began breakdancing in front of the crowd as they cheered them on for their amazing dance moves.
"Wow. So it sounds like you had one hell of a party" said Jeff.
"No kidding" said Kooper.
"Yep" said Bobby. And then as for life before I finished my schooling"
Flashback
In a large hospital, a large but innocuous looking baby boo was born.
"He's beautiful" said Maggie.
"We will name him Bobby" said Chief.
Over the course of the next year Bobby was fed and nurtured closely by his parents and was especially doted by King Boo, who would come to visit.
"He's so adorable isn't he?" said King Boo.
"Kang Boo. Kang Boo" said the infant Bobby.
"Oh honey he's speaking his first words" said Chief. Over the next few early years of his life, Chief would take Bobby to play catch with him in the mountains. But by age six King Boo found a thirst for academics in him. Bobby would excel in all of his classes and study for fun in his own free time.
However, when he reached adolescenthood, he began to become more withdrawn, sad and defiant. At one point he and his father had an argument that reached boiling point.
"Why haven't you been trying in school? We put everything we can into your education and this is how you repay us" said Chief.
"Well fine if school is all you care about then I'll just go" wept Bobby, who flew away, off into the mountains.
"Chief, how can you be so hard and unfair on him? He is such a sweet little angel!" Maggie said angrily.
"Well why has he changed so much. It's as if he's not the Bobby that we used to know. He's done a complete 180 this year" said Chief.
"Well maybe the pressure is starting to get to him and he feels as if he doesn't have enough friends" said Maggie. "Now you go and apologise to him". Chief grunted.
"No I mean it Chief" said Maggie.
"Fine but I want you to come with me. It's easier when he listens to you" said Chief.
They left and searched everywhere for Bobby, beginning to panic as to where he had gone.
"Oh my poor poor baby" said a shaken Maggie. They then heard faint sobbing in the distance. It was Bobby, sitting up in a tree, sobbing and clearly distressed.
"Bobby, come on down, we need to talk to you" said Chief.
"Go away" snapped Bobby.
"Honey he just wants to apologise" said Maggie.
"Why should I listen to either of you. Like you know anything about me" said Bobby.
"Please honey, we only want to comfort you" said Maggie. She and Chief flew up to the top of the branch where he was sitting and Chief patted him on the back.
"Bobby, we were just worried about you. You haven't been yourself, and we want to see the best in you" said Chief.
"I try to be the best, but it's never good enough for anyone is it" wept Bobby.
"We know my little darling, and we're worried that maybe you feel like you're being worked too hard and don't have enough friends. Come home and we can talk and figure something out for you" said Maggie as she squeezed his hand.
"No" Bobby turned away. "I'm not going back" Bobby sobbed harder.
"I think that we need to get the big guy to talk to him" said Chief.
Bobby kept crying in that tree branch all night, until he felt something heavy sit on the tree branch and a warm arm wrap around him.
"Hey" said a familiar raspy voice. It was obvious who it was.
"King Boo" said Bobby. "Who sent you here. They told you to come here didn't they"
"They did, but that's not why I'm here. Not because they told me to. But because I don't like to see you upset and I clearly notice that you are struggling" said King Boo. "Now tell me Bobby, what is afflicting you".
"I try so hard and it's never good enough for anyone, and I have no friends" cried Bobby.
"You have me. I'm your friend" said King Boo.
"You're just saying that to make me feel better" said Bobby.
"No. I actually really like you Bobby, and with the way you're going I think that you could become my second hand man" said King Boo. Bobby perked up at this.
"You mean it?" asked Bobby.
"I mean it" said King Boo. You are the most brilliant, caring and beautiful boo that I've ever seen grace the spectral world. It would be an honor to have you as my second hand man". Bobby smiled.
"Ok. But I don't know if I can keep up with my schoolwork, extracurricular activities and tasks around home and I feel really lonely" said Bobby.
"We will reduce your workload and introduce you to some other ghosts. Now come have some supper with me. Sushi is on the menu tonight" smiled King Boo.
"Oh sushi is my favourite King Boo, oh I love it I love it I love it" said Bobby.
"I like the fugu, though bluefin tuna and Manesmouth Fleshstripper also tickle my taste buds" said King Boo.
"Oh I know it's so delicious" said Bobby.
Eventually Bobby finished school, graduating with the highest grades in every class, excelling in his extracurricular activities, maintained his home well and had made many friends including Ruffles.
"Who is Rufflles?" asked Kooper.
"The boo that I saved" said Bobby.
Flashback
"Mmm these crisps are good Ruffles. Ironic that they are called Ruffles" said Bobby who was feeding away on an enormous bag of crisps. "But this really isn't safe" he said to Ruffles, who was about to dive off of a tree into the lake.
"Well what would you know, you're just a know it all square who is no fun" said Ruffles. This clearly hurt Bobby's feelings. Ruffles attempted to jump off of the tree but slipped and broke an arm in the process before falling into the lake.
"RUFFLES!" exclaimed Bobby. He immediately swum over and tied Ruffles' arms around him and swum back to shore, and then nursed him in his home. He even took him on a trip to Hawaii.
"Beautiful isn't it" said Bobby, staring at a sunset while drinking a fruit smoothie on a soft shore on the Napali Coast.
"Yes, thank you so much for saving me and bringing me here" said Ruffles. Bobby then handed him a bag of money.
"What's this?" asked Ruffles.
"5000 coins. Here. Go on. Take it" said Bobby.
"Bobby I can't accept this, that would be taking too much from you" said Ruffles.
"You need it more than I do, you come from a poorer area and need to pay for your private physiotherapy treatments" said Bobby.
"Bobby I owe you. You saved my life, took me into your home, took me to Hawaii and now this. Anything you need. I'm here for it" said Ruffles.
"That was beautiful" said Max as he wiped a tear from his eye.
"But you still haven't told us while you were assigned to help us" said Hal.
"Well, you see, King Boo operates some of the largest and most powerful infrastructures in the world. He operates top notch universal healthcare, multi-trillion-dollar businesses and a pretty solid army and is considered to have the best intelligence in the world. Furthermore, my experience in reconnaissance missions is quintessential to your objectives. And we want nothing but to restore peace and prosperity to the world, which we can do by making sure that Waluigi delivers the Emerald of Peace to the Surgut Stone and preventing Bowser from killing him" said Bobby.
"Well, you seem like you are the best that we can get" said Hal.
"Right you are" said Bobby. "Now let's go have some Choco Island Pudding and figure out where we are going to go from here.
Well, I said that I would do a Bobby backstory, and here it is. His character is based off of the Club Mocchi-Mocchi Super Mario Mega Boo plush that I have in real life called Bobby. He actually helped me write this. Let me know what you want to see next.
