Let her Die
The upcoming execution of Rukia Kuchiki was the biggest event in Seireitei. It wasn't just about punishing a criminal—it was about power, honor, and the laws that held Soul Society together.
But the situation was complicated. Rukia wasn't an ordinary Shinigami. She was a commoner who had been adopted into the noble Kuchiki Clan, the woman who killed Kaien Shiba, the heir of a once-great noble family. And now, she was being executed for giving her powers to a human—who, along with his friends, had broken into Soul Society to save her.
Everyone had an opinion about it.

Among the Common Shinigami
Seated officers and lower-ranked Shinigami discussed the execution in hushed voices.
"She broke the law. What did she expect?"
"Yeah, but execution? That seems extreme for just giving her powers away."
"It's not just that. She caused a huge mess. The Ryoka—those invaders—wouldn't be here if not for her."
"I heard she's the one who killed Kaien Shiba. That alone should've gotten her executed years ago."
Kaien had been loved by many Shinigami. Some still held grudges against Rukia, though they knew the details of his death were unclear.
"She's also a Kuchiki now. Shouldn't that protect her?"
"Tch. She was never a real noble. Just a stray they picked up."
Some sympathized with her, but many saw her as a mistake the Kuchiki Clan had made—one they were now correcting.

Among the Noble Families
The aristocrats of Soul Society viewed Rukia's execution differently. To them, it wasn't about right or wrong—it was about maintaining order.
"A noble should never have disgraced herself by giving power to a human."
"The Kuchiki name has suffered enough because of her."
"And now these Ryoka are attacking Seireitei for her? How humiliating."
Some wondered why Byakuya Kuchiki, her elder brother, had remained silent.
"He hasn't defended her."
"Of course not. He's a true noble. He follows the law."
"Still… I expected him to be more vocal about her punishment. Strange, isn't it?"
Though the nobles believed the execution was necessary, they also saw it as a way to make the Kuchiki Clan answer for bringing a commoner into their ranks.

In the Rukongai Slums
To the poor souls in Rukongai, Rukia's execution was a different kind of story.
"She's one of us, you know."
"Was. The moment she became a Kuchiki, she stopped being like us."
Some resented her, seeing her as someone who had abandoned her roots, only to be discarded when she became inconvenient. Others felt bitter—was this what happened when a commoner tried to rise above their station?
"She never really fit in with them anyway."
"Maybe she never wanted to."
Most people in Rukongai had no power to change anything, but they couldn't help wondering:
"Are we supposed to just accept that nobles can decide who lives and who dies?"
--
Then came the Ryoka. A small group of humans stormed Seireitei, defeating powerful Shinigami and even wounding captains.
People started asking questions.
"Wait… why are they going so far just to save her?"
"That human—Ichigo Kurosaki—he fought Byakuya Kuchiki himself. Just for her?"
Suddenly, Rukia's execution wasn't just about punishment. It was about control.
"If we execute her now, does that make us look weak or strong?"
"If we don't, does it mean we let criminals walk free?"
For the first time, people started wondering if the execution was about justice… or something else.
And as the day of the execution drew closer, an even bigger question filled the air:
Would Byakuya Kuchiki really let his sister die?
In the heart of Seireitei, the atmosphere was tense as the date of Rukia Kuchiki's execution approached. The corridors buzzed with hushed conversations, and the weight of impending events hung heavily over the Gotei 13.
Byakuya Kuchiki, the stoic captain of the 6th Division, walked through the pristine halls with his usual composed demeanor. His face betrayed no emotion, but those who knew him understood the internal conflict he faced. As he turned a corner, he encountered two fellow captains: Kenpachi Zaraki of the 11th Division and Gin Ichimaru of the 3rd Division.
Kenpachi's wild grin widened at the sight of Byakuya. "Well, if it isn't Captain Kuchiki," he jeered. "Heard about your sister's little predicament. Must be tough for a noble family to have a criminal in their midst."
Byakuya's eyes narrowed slightly, but his voice remained calm. "The affairs of my family are no concern of yours, Zaraki."
Gin's ever-present sly smile grew more pronounced. "Now, now, Captain Kuchiki, no need to be so cold. We're all comrades here, aren't we?"
Kenpachi chuckled, a dangerous glint in his eye. "Tell you what, Byakuya. Since you're having such a hard time, why don't I take care of Rukia for you? I'll finish her off before the execution. Save you the trouble."
Byakuya's gaze hardened, a flicker of anger crossing his features. "I was unaware that someone of your caliber possessed the ability to kill," he retorted icily.
The air grew thick with tension as Kenpachi's grin faded, replaced by a predatory expression. He took a step forward, his spiritual pressure rising. "Care to test that theory, pretty boy?"
Before the situation could escalate further, Gin stepped between the two captains, his hands raised in a placating gesture. "Now, now, gentlemen, let's not do anything hasty. We wouldn't want to cause a scene, would we?"
Kenpachi's gaze remained locked with Byakuya's for a moment longer before he let out a bark of laughter. "Another time, then," he said, turning away. "But remember, Kuchiki, if you ever need someone taken care of, you know where to find me."
As Kenpachi walked away, Gin offered Byakuya a nod, his smile never wavering. "Take care, Captain Kuchiki." With that, he followed Kenpachi, leaving Byakuya standing alone in the corridor, his expression unreadable.
