Hey everyone, I'm Orion Pax (that's my nickname anyway), I am a HUGE Transformers Prime fan and anything Transformers really. I am aspiring to become a book author, but have never written a story before. What better way to start than fanfiction huh? Any way this is my first one shot ever so no haters please ️. I randomly thought about this in my class today, I may turn it into a series. In this the movie never happened and Optimus never got his upgrades, instead he was just healed by the Forge of Solus Prime. I don't own Transformers that honor belongs to Hasbro. I only own my OC's. Hope you like!
And for those of you who ship Knockout and Breakdown I really don't especially in the show ( I get it they're supposedly sparkmates in the comics but were talking about the show here). Sorry but I am not for that stuff. I don't do smut, lemons, or anything like that. There is also some talk of one of my OC being ProLife so please don't hate but killing babies is wrong. Any way please try and enjoy.
It was a cool fall day in the middle of October, a certain cherry red Aston Martin One-77 drove down the road of a small town. But the intriguing part – there was no driver. The mysterious car turned down a street almost completely shaded by tall trees. The bright colors of orange, red, yellow, and brown caught the cars attention as it slowed at a stop sign. It turned, pulling down another street till it came to a small blue, two story house.
The car pulled into the drive way that stretched and turned to the back of the house. It then pulled into a large two-story garage. The top story had had rotting floors and was torn away. In it's place was built a set of platforms large enough to walk on. On the floor of the garage sat a young woman of eighteen. She was painting a picture of a sunset. Her clothes were stained with paint and had a few holes. A speaker in front of her played loud music. Even still she heard the car drive into the garage, but she didn't turn around. She was too invested in the work of her painting. She smiled knowing what was coming. She turned her music off but still continued working on her painting.
The car, growing impatient, inched forward enough to nudge her in the back. As it reversed a few inches, the girl giggled, but still ignored the car. The car nudged her again. "Hey Knocks," she said between giggles, but she still didn't turn. This was clearly not good enough for the car. A shifting of metal plates and gears, and the car was now a twenty-two-foot tall, red and silver robot, with a snow white face. "So that's all I get anymore, huh" he said jokingly, crossing his arms " a 'hey Knocks', I don't get a ' Hello love of my life, my sweetspark, the light of my life'?"
The girl looked up at him and smiled through fits of giggles. "Oh I'm so sorry, you aren't getting the love you deserve mi amore. I'll do better next time" she said with a wink. Soon both were laughing, as he sat down. "So, Kylee, I don't suppose my favorite human might like to go for a drive into town, maybe grab a drink and meet up with some of the gang?" he asked. "Sure" she said "as soon as I finish my painting" she motioned to the large canvas lying on the floor, with a tarp underneath. Knockout scooted closer to look. It was a beautiful painting of a sunset with colors of blue, green, and teal, with a set of Northern Lights in the sky. In front was an unfinished silhouette of a tall, lean bot with dark hints of red and blue throughout his frame. On the other side stood a shorter robotic figure with hints of dark pink coloring, and in the middle of the two stood a tiny human figure. "Aaahhh" he said in understanding "A family portrait, hhmm?". Kylee looked at the painting and smiled. "Yeah" she said " I wanted to put Sire and Carrier in this one". She smiled thinking of her adopted parents.
She had only been ten when her parents were killed in a car wreck. That's when she went to live with her grandparents. At the time, her grandfather worked with Agent William Fowler, at a military base. Kylee never knew what kind of work he did until one day she snuck into the back of his truck and sneakily ventured around the large military base. There she was quickly discovered by Optimus Prime and easily grew to befriend him. She loved spending her time with him and eventually saw a father figure. He would take her to drive in theatre's and often times they would visit the wild parts of National Parks where Optimus could walk and be unbothered. Kylee's favorite was the times they went fishing together. Then Elita One arrived on earth, and after Kylee got over a little jealousy of Optimus' attention, they became like mother and daughter. On her eleventh birthday, Optimus and Elita were given the offer to adopt Kylee, and lovingly accepted. After that Kylee spent her days being homeschooled, learning everything about both earth and cybertron. Though she still lived with her grandparents since Optimus and Elita stayed on base. She met many of her parent's comrades and befriended all of them including, Jazz, Ironhide, Ratchet, Bulkhead, Bumblebee, Cliffjumper, Arcee, Hound, and many others. Some time after she turned fifteen, Optimus was posted at an old missile silo in Jasper, Nevada.
It was here that Kylee met her best friends Jack, Raf and Miko, as well as Smokescreen, Wheel Jack, and Ultra Magnus. Less than a year later she got to meet the cons who had switched over at the end of the war. These cons actually included Megatron, Soundwave, Starscream, Knockout, and quite a few of the vehicons, her favorite among them being St3v3. She had loved bonding with the cons and getting to know and become friends with each and every one of them, especially Knockout. From the moment they met, Kylee knew that she had found her very best friend, even though they were quite opposite in personality. He was a bot obsessed with his looks and everything fast, while she was a tom-boy who happened to love playing in the mud and didn't care what got in her boy-short, dark brown hair. She often wore stained shirts and holey jeans just to annoy him, but in turn he would flirt with her, often making her blush and act all goofy. They liked to go out to drive in theatres, play video games, or just hang out and talk. At about seventeen years old Kylee had started feeling weird around Knockout, and after a while and a good talk with Elita, she told Knockout. The funny thing was when he told her he felt the same and she almost passed out of excitement. Now they were a full-on romantic couple.
"Are you finished yet" Knockout asked, bringing Kylee back from her memories. She looked down at her painting and added one more spot of black before sitting back. "Yup" she said as she stood up. She picked up her painting and set it on her work bench to dry. "Gimme ten minutes to clean up and change and we can go, mmk?" she said as she ran out of the garage. Knockout followed her out into the yard. There were enough trees around here that he wouldn't be seen by any neighbors. He watched as Kylee ran into the house. He then noticed her grandmother coming to sit on the back porch, hot beverage in hand. "Well hello there youngin' " she greeted him "here for Kylee no doubt?". "Of course, we're just gonna go for a drive, maybe stop for a drink" Knockout said with a warm smile. He always enjoyed chatting with her grandparents, they were always so kind and accepting. When they had learned of their granddaughter's relationship with the ex-con they were slightly surprised, but quickly accepted him as a part of the family.
Kylee ran out of the house dressed in a clean pair of jeans, a black t-shirt, with a brand new Nightmare Before Christmas zip-up hoodie and matching sneakers.
Seeing that she was ready Knockout quickly transformed. But as she reached for the driver side door, he locked it. "Dude" she asked "what are you doing?".
"We're going in town" he said, rolling down the window to reveal his holoform "and I'm driving". Kylee shrugged "Okay but I get to do the movie slide" she said with a smirk. Knockout's holoform looked at her with a face that screamed seriously. "Any scratches will be yours to buff" he stated in a blunt tone, as he pressed hid head to the wheel not wanting to look. She did a quick fist pump and stepped back a few feet, getting a running start before hopping up and sliding across Knockout's hood. She landed lightly on her feet and swung around to open the door and hop in. However when she went to jump into the seat, she jumped too high and smacked her head against the roof. She backed up, holding a palm to her head, before slowly sitting in her seat. "Not a word" she said, without even looking at him. Knockout laughed a little whispering something along the lines of 'that's what you get'. However he quickly ceased once Kylee gave him the death stare.
They drove off with Kylee rubbing her head and Knockout still snickering, so he decided to change the unspoken subject. "New jacket?" he asked calmly, trying to get back on her good side. "Yeah" she said, forgetting her head "I found it on clearance the other day". She looked at Knockout's holoform. He looked to be about nineteen or twenty years old. He was average height, and rather lean, with pale skin and strawberry red hair. He wore dark blue jeans, a white t-shirt, a red leather jacket with hints of black, and red and white cross trainers. He also had tattoos on the front of his arms that looked exactly like the design on his doors except they were black. One part of his holoform Kylee was always stunned by, was his eyes. They were ruby red and absolutely gorgeous. Sometimes she would look into his eyes and not be able to pull away. "Hello" Knockout said, snapping his fingers in front of her face "you awake?"
"Yeah" she said snapping out of her daze "sorry, what were you saying?"
"I was asking if you'd like to go into town and grab a drink? Perhaps that specialty place?" He asked, amusement in his eyes.
"Sure" said Kylee, as she looked out the window. The drive into town was always beautiful, as she lived in a tiny neighborhood near several miles of farmland. Knowing her well, Knockout rolled the window down. She looked at him appreciatively, then stuck her hand out and watched the scenery go by. Sometimes they didn't even need to talk. Either one could just feel what was radiating off the other, and at the moment both were happy.
As they pulled into town Kylee noticed a playground full of children, set in a large field, right next to the coffee shop. Knockout parked and they went inside. Once she saw the specialty menu she was ecstatic. They had limited time only, Nightmare Before Christmas drinks and other Halloween treats. "Oh primus" Knockout sighed, knowing how much she loved the movie. Kylee ordered the Jack and Sally iced coffee, which was chocolate raspberry flavored with whipped cream and a chocolate drizzle. Knockout on the other hand ordered the Mummy iced coffee, which was chocolate and caramel flavored, with whipped cream and a caramel drizzle (In my stories, yes the bots can eat in their holoforms). "You wanna sit at that picnic table by the playground" Kylee asked. The weather was beautiful and warm for a fall day in upstate New York. Knockout looked confused. "The what" he asked, not understanding what a 'playground' was. Kylee pointed to the large structure full of kids. All of a sudden she spotted a familiar face. "Uncle Lenny" she shouted, standing on her tip toes, waving her free hand over her head like a five year old. Said army ranger turned to greet the two as they walked over. He shook Knockout's hand and wrapped Kylee in a bear hug, squeezing her tight. As a child, whenever she went to see Optimus, Will Lennox was there working by his side. Over time he became the girl's beloved 'Uncle Lenny'. "Hey kid" he said, finally letting go "what ya' up to?"
"Nothing much, just out with Knocks" she explained.
"Kylee" came a shout. All of a sudden a little girl rushed over to Kylee, jumping into her arms.
Kylie laughed. "Hey Annabelle" she said as she squeezed the seven hear old girl in her arms. She handed her drink to Knockout and looked down as she felt something grip her leg. "Hi, Kyky" said a little boy, no more than four years old. "Hi Bill" she said as she traded one child for another. The little boy now in her arms hugged her tight, making Kylee smile. All of a sudden he looked over at Knockout.
"KNOCKY!" came the squeal of pure excitement, making all of the other parents look their way. All of a sudden Bill started kicking and reaching for Knockout, begging to be held. Knockout set the drinks on the table and took Bill from his girlfriend. Kylee smiled as the toddler snuggled into his shoulder, making Knockout grin from ear to ear. He had adored Bill from the day he was born, always activating his holoform just to play and even babysitting a few times, though not without Kylee's help. The small child tried to shimmy out of Knockout's grasp, but Knockout wouldn't let him. "Nope" he said jokingly "my Bill". The child giggled, finally slipping down. Once his feet hit the ground, he took off running. At about ten feet away he looked back at Knockout and yelled "Betchya can' catch me". Suddenly Knockout ran after the child, though not at full speed, acting like he was going to try and catch the boy. The two ran through the large field behind the playground. All of a sudden Bill turned around, holding up a finger gun. He 'shot' at Knockout several times before he was finally 'hit'. The young bot stopped in his tracks with a hand to where his spark would be. He mockingly gasped for breath, clutching his shirt. "Oh no, he got me" he said as he fell to his knees "he's just too powerful". He then fell face first into the ground and rolled over onto his back. Bill laughed and raised his little fists into the air and yelled "ALL HAIL MEGATWON!''. Knockout grinned and stuck out his tongue acting as if he were dead.
Kylee smiled seeing the sweet interaction between the two. She laughed as Bill went to poke Knockout with a stick. In turn, the red head rolled backward and jumped into a kick up (is that what they're called?). He swiftly grabbed the boy, tossing him into the air a few times and finally setting him on his shoulders. Just then, Kylee felt a large pair of hands grab her shoulders. She looked up to see a familiar set of deep red eyes. The man had a tall muscular build and full gray hair. "Hey Uncle Megs" she greeted the holoform cheerfully "is Dad here too?"
"No, but he and your mother are on their way" said the war lord as he sat down next to Kylee. He was still extremely tall as he sat down, wearing his large dark grey coat, black jeans and military boots. "How's Nightbird" she asked. Megatron looked at her with a smile. He and his sparkmate had been bonded for over a year now and she had just given birth to their first sparkling, Galvatron. "She is well" he explained, looking into the clear sky "well enough to tell me I needed some fresh air and have Ratchet practically kick me out of the med bay". He closed his eyes and took a deep breath, his thick hair blowing in the breeze.
"Looks like she was right" Kylee said, taking a sip of her drink.
"Indeed she was" Megatron sighed.
Kylee turned, having heard the sound of not one but two engines. She smiled at what she saw. A large red and blue Peterbilt truck and a small, dark fuchsia Porsche 911 Turbo S, had just pulled into the parking lot. Behind the truck was a small trailer of sorts. Out of the truck came a middle-aged man with short dark blue hair and a small goatee. He was tall and lean, but well-muscled and had bright blue eyes. He wore light blue jeans, a blue and red flannel shirt, and a thick brown coat with black military boots. Out of the Porsche came a middle-aged woman of average height and strong, thin build. She had long, dark fuchsia hair pulled back into a braid. She wore light gray jeans, a pink shirt, and a navy-blue jean jacket. Kylee walked over just as the woman pulled a small baby out of the back seat. He had short brown hair, and bright blue eyes like both his parents. He wore a white onesie, with gray pants and a gray jacket. One of Kylee's favorite things about cybertronian sparklings was that there mother could help them use a holoform at a very young age. She ran up and hugged her father. "Hey Sire" she whispered, not wanting any civilians hear the cybertronian verbiage and question her. "Hello, sweetspark" he whispered back. She then turned to her mother who immediately set the small child in her arms, kissed Kylee on the head, and turned toward the coffee shop. "Can you watch him for a minute, I need some sanity" Elita asked. Kylee nodded, happy to take the sparkling off her mother's hands.
"Axel, are you bein' a pain in the aft for carrier again" she asked. The small child just looked at her and giggled. He looked to be about ten months old, even though he was already two. She carried him over to the picnic table where Optimus, Megatron, and Lennox were now conversing. About five minutes later, Elita came back holding two drinks. She set one in front of Optimus and sat down. Kylee handed Axel back to her carrier and stood up. "I'm gonna go find Knockout" she said quietly. She walked off in the direction of the playground. Then she saw something that just made her laugh. Knockout stood on the edge of the playset in front of the monkey bars. All the children had rallied behind Bill, using sticks like swords, threatening to throw Knockout 'overboard'. "Argh" growled Bill "gimme da gold and a might let ye' live".
"I'll never give up the gold" exclaimed Knockout, as he stuffed a handful of acorns in his pocket "it's mine!"
He quickly turned to jump for the monkey bars. However, he didn't quite grasp the fact that a jungle gym is made for children and the monkey bars were much lower than he thought. So as he jumped and grabbed the first bar, he came too high and he hit his head on the frame. He then lost his grip and fell into the mulch. "Oooowww" he groaned, sitting upright to see not only all of the children laughing, but Kylee as well.
"That's what ya get" she stated matter-of-factly, knowing full he was getting karma from earlier.
"Alright, that's it" Knockout yelled, grinning as he stood up and charged at Kylee. She yelped as she saw him coming just in time to dodge and run in the opposite direction. She ran as fast as her legs could take her, but Knockout being Knockout he was ten times faster. She looked over her shoulder just in time to see him close the gap between them and barrel into her. They tumbled downward rolling down a short grassy hill. A mass of limbs landed at the bottom, under a tall oak tree. As Kylee opened her eyes she realized not only had they stopped but Knockout now had her pinned to the ground. He leaned down so close to Kylee's face their noses touched. She blushed, never had she been this close to his face. Even though they had been dating for over a year now they had never actually kissed. All of a sudden Kylee burst into laughter, as Knockout gently tickled her side.
"Oh" he said sitting back up "that's funny huh?" He tickled her other side, then both sides at the same time.
"Stop! Stop" she yelled between fits of laughter. Finally he stopped. Kylee stretched her arms out in the grass, took a deep breath and smiled. She closed her eyes, feeling a cool breeze blow through her hair, listening to the tree rustle above her. She opened her eyes, as she felt Knockout lay next to her, putting his arm around her. He then asked a question she never thought she'd here from him. "Hey Kylee" he started "you think you'd ever want kids some day?"
The question caught her off guard. But as she thought for a moment she smiled. "Only if it's with you" she answered, looking deep into his ruby eyes.
Knockout smiled, then pressed a gentle kiss to her cheek. Kylee looked at him surprised, blushing like crazy. She quickly slipped her hood over her head, but he gently tugged it away. "Come on" he encouraged "your cute when you blush".
Kylee, trying to change the subject, thought back on having children. Was it even possible between a human and a cybertronian? Now she was concerned. She let him pull her hood away and looked at him. "Knocks" she asked "will we even be able to have kids?"
The thought of not being able to have a family with the mech she loved most absolutely hurt. She sat up and pulled her knees to her chest, growing slightly anxious. Sensing her discomfort, Knockout sat up. He gently turned her head toward him, so she was looking into his eyes, resting her head on her knees. "Of course we will" he gently explained "don't tell anyone but Bee told me yesterday that Charlie is three months pregnant. Ratchet and June have done all the tests and it's HIS sparkling. They are keeping an eye on her to make sure everything goes well, but now we know it is possible. Humans and cybertronians can have sparklings together"
Kylee sighed with relief as Knockout pulled her into a hug. "Trust me" he soothed, brushing his fingers through her boy short hair "you will be a perfect mother someday. I know for certain."
She smiled up at him "And when that happens I know you will be a perfect father."
For a few minutes they sat like this, curled together in a warm hug. "So Charlie really is pregnant with Bumblebee's sparkling?" Kylee asked as they separated.
Knockout nodded. "So when did they plan to try this, I mean what did they even have to do?" she was now curious of what she would be subject to when they chose to have children.
"Well" Knockout started "for cybertronians it's not really something we plan. It happens only to bonded sparkmates, when they are in a very close proximity to each other, usually a foot at most. When both sparks are at rest or very calm, usually while the bots are sleeping, they start to beat in sync. Then the energy of both sparks seeps out of the bots, sort of mixing together. And if this goes on for more than a minute or two, there will most definitely be a sparkling. Nothing like you humans and your …. interfacing".
He shuddered as he said the last word. Just thinking about it made him want to gag. "So it was sort of a surprise?" Kylee asked.
"Pretty much" he answered.
"And Charlie decided to keep the baby right" she asked.
This question confused Knockout. Why wouldn't they keep it? Even if they didn't, it wasn't like they could just put a half cybertronian up for adoption. Kylee, seeing his confused face asked "Has no one talked to you about …. abortion?"
"No" he answered, now skeptical of Kylee's slowly saddening face "why? Is it important?"
Kylee looked at her feet, thinking carefully about her next words. She was Pro Life, and the topic of abortion always threw a stone in her stomach. She looked away for a second, took a deep breath, and collected her thoughts. "I'm gonna take a wild guess and say that this is something cybertronians don't do" she started.
Her voice was heavy with dread as she looked into Knockout's eyes. "Do you remember the chat we had about, uuh, human reproduction" she asked " and how some human's use it for pleasure, even though they really shouldn't?"
Knockout shuddered "Unfortunately".
"Well" Kylee went on "sometimes, even when they do it and use what they call 'protection' the woman can still end up conceiving a baby. Sometimes the woman chooses not to have the baby and quite literally, uhm, kill it."
Knockout was shocked and little furious. "Humans actually did this?" he asked astonished "They really kill off their unwanted young? And before they're even BORN?! Why?! Why is this not illegal?!"
"Some people think it's a good thing" Kylee sighed "though I highly disagree."
"And on top of it HOW?! How can they kill the sparkling without killing the mother?!" he looked at his girlfriend, worry in his gaze.
"Actually there's a few ways they do it." She looked down not wanting to have to explain it to him and break his spark even more, but Knockout was practically begging for answers "One, they can go in and literally suck the baby out with a kind of vacuum. Two, they kinda open the mother up and scrape her out, taking the baby. But the third one is the worst. When the baby is a little older and closer to being born they will inject a medicine into the baby so that it doesn't feel any pain. Then they inject a chemical that stops the baby's heart and kills it. And then -" she stopped, now on the verge of tears. It was so heartbreaking what people did just because they made a bad choice.
"You don't have to finish if you don't want to" Knockout said apologetically.
Kylee took a deep breath and looked him in the eye. "It's ok" she said "I think you need to hear this. Anyway, after that they go in and just cut off the limbs and then the head to take it out. But it gets worse. A lot of times the doctors will send the bodies of aborted babies to laboratories, where scientists perform all kinds of tests on them".
Knockout was horrified, to say the least. He couldn't imagine this happening on cybertron. It broke his spark to think that humans ACTUALLY did this. "And there's nothing you can do to stop it?" he asked.
"Well" Kylee went on " there are some things we can do. We can elect governors and presidents who will fight abortion. And we can give to Pro Life oragnizations and join in Pro Life rallies. But Knockout, the thing is, some people don't believe that the baby is technically alive before birth"
Now Knockout was just plain confused. "Well what do they think it is, just a mass of cells?"
"Eh kinda" she explained.
"Let me ask you this" Knockout said "is the sparkling growing from day one in the womb?"
Kylee nodded, knowing where he was going with this. "Then it has life. If there is no life, then nothing can grow. Think of that plant you showed me with the teeth" he said.
"A venus fly trap" she asked.
"Yeah that one. That plant moves on it's own right? To eat things?" at this Kylee nodded "and without life nothing can move. Could a dead fly trap move? Or grow?" this time she shook her head no "and we say it's dead, so there must be life in it. Now if a sparkli- uh, a baby is growing from day one, and within a few weeks has a heartbeat, and after a few months starts to kick and move inside the mother, how could humans say there's no life in it, hmm?"
At this Kylee smiled. Knockout continued "I'm sure it's one of those things that humans do thinking it's good, but they don't understand how evil it is. Like Pride" he said disgusted "why would a guy, wanna marry another guy. The purpose of being sparkbonded or married is to start a family isn't it? You can't really do that if you're the same gender".
He lay back down into the grass, laying his hands over his torso. Kylee followed suite, snuggling into his side, as he put an arm around her. "Funny story" Knockout said, trying to break up some of the tension "for a while, a lot of the vehicons who had studied some of earth's culture, thought that Breakdown and I were, uh …. Well …. gay"
Upon hearing this, Kylee shot up. "What?!" She yelled through fits of laughter "there's now way"
Knockout slowly sat up "And it didn't help that Breakdown was actually my brother" this only made her laugh harder "but that's a story for another time" he said as he heard their names called.
"Kylee, Knolan" it was Smokescreen in his holoform, standing on top of the hill "I brought pizza"
They both jumped up and ran. "Race you" Knockout yelled.
"Hey, no fair, Knolan" she yelled, emphasizing his cover name.
Each of the bots had chosen a cover name for their holoforms, Knockout's being Knolan Martin Orsen. Optimus was Orion Paxton Priminus, Elita was Ellen Oaklynn Priminus, Smokescreen was Sam Calendry, and so on.
As they neared the picnic table they realized Smokescreen was not the only new comer. Starscream, Soundwave, Ironhide, Jazz, and Prowl had also shown up. Each in their own holoforms (im just gonna post some pictures of what I think they look like cause this is getting long). Since the table was full they each grabbed a piece of pizza and sat in the grass a few feet away with Starscream and Smokescreen. "So Star- Stan" Knockout started, almost forgetting there were other people around "how's your girlfriend?"
Starscream gave him a look of pure frustration. "How many times do I have to tell you" he growled in his high pitched voice "she's not my girlfriend! Alexis is my assigned military partner and unlike you I will not be falling for a pathetic little flesh bag"
Now Knockout was mad, but as he went to throw a slice of pizza in Starscream's face, sweet little Bill came over, plopping right down in Knockout's lap. Not wanting to set a bad example, Knockout simply took a bite of the piece, glaring at his old companion. Knowing her boyfriend was now incapable of doing anything erratic, she decided to enter the conversation. "Ya know Stan" she stated calmly "you're like a slinky. Kind of useless, but I can't help but smile when you fall down the stairs."
Starscream looked stunned and Knockout smirked. Kylee was one of the wittiest people he knew, and she especially loved to throw these little quips at Starscream, knowing how mad it made him. "Stan" Megatron said, humor in his voice "I suggest you watch yourself around stairs anymore, especially around Kylee".
She just stared at him, smiling. Starscream, with a smug look on his face, stood up to walk away. Kylee looked over to see Knockout gone. She stood up and looked behind her to see the most adorable sight.
The kids were spinning Knockout on the merry go round as fast as the could, which was surprisingly fast. Once it stopped he shakily stood up, stumbling around with dizziness. But then all the children ran in separate directions. It looked to be some special tactic used to slow Knockout down so it would be harder for him catch them in a game of freeze tag. However, this method failed because after about a minute he shook his head and darted after Annabelle. After tagging all the other children he looked for Bill, but the small child was nowhere to be seen. He knelt down as he heard a crunch in the grass behind him. "Hmm" he wondered "where could Bill be?"
All of a sudden, he felt the young boy jump onto his back, wrapping his arms around the bot's neck. Knockout, being extra gentle, held Bill's hands as he started to spin. He spun slowly, but fast enough to make the child laugh. After a minute of this, Knockout set him down, and both fell back into the grass, dizzy and laughing. "WILLIAM LENNOX THE SECOND!" came the call of the boy's father "IT'S TIME TO LEAVE!".
"Awww" said Bill sadly "But I wanna stay and play some more"
He looked at Knockout, just as a chilly wind blew. "Come on" said Knockout as he stood up and put the child on his shoulders "It's getting too cold to play. Maybe your dad will let you watch a movie at home or something."
Knockout walked toward the group, noticing the sun getting very low in the sky. It was most likely near the child's bed time. "Otay" said Bill sadly, as he hugged the young mech's head, resting his chin on top, beginning to act very tired. He'll probably fall asleep before they even get home, he thought to himself. As they rejoined the group, he handed the boy to Will. "Thank you so much for tiring him out" he said "He was a monster full of energy earlier".
Knockout gave a nod and walked over to Kylee. "You ready to go" he asked.
"Sure" she said.
The sauntered back to Knockout's vehicle form, and once they were out of town he deactivated the holoform. Kylee leaned her head against the window and sighed. She loved days like these, calm and enjoyable, surrounded by the people she cared about most. Just then Knockout turned down a different road that lead them further out into the country. "Where are you going" she asked
"I told you I'd take you for a drive didn't I?" he said, his voice now coming from all over inside the car.
For the next few minutes all was quiet. Finally Kylee broke the silence. "Knocks, were you serious earlier when you said you'd wanna have kids with me someday?"
"Of course" he answered "I couldn't dream of having a family with anyone else. Why do you ask?"
"Well during the war it just never seemed like something you'd be interested in, with anyone for that matter" she stated.
Knockout pulled down a dirt road, leading to the entrance of an old hiking trail that had been closed for many years. The two often came out here to walk and talk in peace. Kylee stepped out just as he transformed. He picked her up and set her on his shoulder as they entered the darkening forest. "I guess during the war" Knockout started, continuing their conversation "I never thought about what it would be like to have children one day. Probably because being raised during the war, I really only saw a lot of death."
He walked out to the edge of a cliff, overlooking the farm fields and forest below. Kylee still sat quietly on his shoulder. "Well hey" she spoke up "I'll be nineteen within a few weeks and after that Sire and Ratchet will allow me to take the Cyber Serum".
The Cyber Serum was a special formula of energon that Ratchet had designed for humans. It allowed them to live the average lifespan of a cybertronian, so that they could be with their sparkmates for a long time. There was even a reverse serum for it, incase something happened between couples that prohibited them from being or wanting to be together. "You don't want to wait a few more years?" he asked.
"Well I don't wanna rush things" Kylee stated "But your already like twenty, uh in cybertronian years anyway, and I'd like to stay a little younger than you"
"Are you saying I look old" Knockout asked jokingly.
"No, you lughead" she laughed "I'm saying I'd like to be with you for as long as possible".
For a few moments there was silence. Then Knockout set Kylee on the ground, as he transformed back into his vehicle form. She was confused until his holoform stepped out, holding a thick coat he kept in the back seat. "You looked cold" he said as he rapped it around her.
Knockout looked to the rising moon, wondering if he should ask the question currently on his processor. In the end he decided to go with it. "Kylee" he asked, leaning against his own hood "what if, when the day comes, and we do have children, I can't be a good enough father?"
At that Kylee punched him hard in the arm. "Oooww" he moaned, rubbing his arm "what the frag was that for?"
"I don't ever want to hear you say that again" she said sternly.
Knockout looked at her confused. "Knockout" she started " you are the sweetest, kindest, most gentle and loving mech I have ever met. You've learned from your past mistakes and practically vowed to never do some of those things again. And when you met Bill, I saw how you played with him, and helped to teach him. Earlier you were gonna throw that pizza at Starscream after what he said about me, but you held back because you didn't wanna set a bad example. Listen to me."
She pressed her forehead to Knockout's, pulling him into a warm embrace, arms wrapped around his neck "I've seen all I need to see, to know that you are gonna be a perfect father someday, to our children. It may be in two years or twenty. But I know that you will not let our children down. I don't want you to ever doubt yourself."
Then she nervously placed her small hand against his cheek, gently stroking the side of his face with her thumb. They both closed their eyes, taking a few deep breaths. The cool breeze blew and Knockout wrapped his arms around Kylee's waist in an attempt to keep her warm. Then to his surprise, he felt her warm lips brush against his and in return kissed her back, rather passionately. He had always assumed he'd make the first move to kiss, but as they broke apart for air, he found himself letting out a small whimper of surprise. "Whoah" he whispered, in complete shock at what had just happened.
Kylee however turned redder than his paintjob. "Sorry" she said as she looked away.
Knockout however, with a tiny blush of his own, gently took her chin and turned her head to face him. "You know you're cute when you blush" he said and with that kissed her again.
Kylee felt as if she couldn't pull away. When they finally ended the kiss, she closed her eyes and melted into his embrace, wrapping her arms around his mid-section and laying her head on his shoulder. After a few minutes Knockout kissed her on the head and said "Come on, it's getting late and your starting to shiver".
She reluctantly let go as the holoform disappeared. This time he let her sit in the front seat as he drove her home. He looked toward her and smiled as she had fallen asleep.
