Hello beautiful people as said last time I am completely changing this story so if you haven't read the new chapter one go read that. It's turning out much better than the first one please check out my Wattpad account, same name, I'll put up some visuals as far as like possible character designs, some of the bots holoforms and all kinds of other stuff. I promise I'm gonna try and post more chapters sooner, I'm trying to get more into writing so please again if your read it review it. Anyways enjoy the chapter.
Kylee crouched in the corner of her room. All she could hear was glass breaking, shooting, screaming, and crying. Tears streamed down her face as she tried to stay hidden like her father told her. Finally all the noise stopped. It was eerie and somehow worse than all the noise. Then footsteps.
"There should be one more" said a male voice.
"Find her" yelled another.
Then her door broke in, people in dark grey body suits flooded into her room. About a half a dozen guns were now pointed in her face.
"Found her" one of them said, his gun pressed to her forehead. Then…..
BAM!
Kylee hit the ground hard. Tears streamed down her face, stinging her eyes as she looked around. She was in her new room in the autobot barracks and had fallen out of her bed. She sat up, panting hard, and looked around. It was still dark. She stood up and walked over to her dresser. She picked up her phone, turning it on to see that it was only 5:34 on May 15th. Well there was no way she was gonna get back to sleep now. She began digging through the boxes, hoping to at least sort through her clothes. In a rush to get her out of her old home, the agents had just thrown random things into a few boxes. Some things weren't even hers. A book that belonged to her mother, her father's hat, a few of her siblings toys and drawings, and even her brother's collection of Lord of the Rings and the Hobbit figures, books, and DVD's. She set all these things aside in a separate box, sliding it under her bed. Of the remaining five boxes two were filled with her clothes which she set aside to wash later, as most of the items still smelled of smoke. Two boxes contained her art supplies, a few jars of seashells, and her Jurassic Park/World collection of books, DVD's, and dinosaur figures. She then found her guitar stand and set her guitar on it in the corner. The last box was a little larger and held all her old books. Some were fictional books about fantasy adventures, others were science books about zoology and animals. She then dug through her backpack to find a fresh pair of jeans with a hole in the knee and her Jurassic Park t-shirt. She quickly got dressed and dumped the rest of her clothes into the boxes. She picked up both boxes and headed out into the hall. Halo had shown her the laundry room the night before. When she reached the room she threw all her clothes into two separate machines, there would be too much for one load and she didn't feel like being here for too long. Once the machines were on she walked out into the hall, looking to explore a little. A few rooms down she came across an open door. She peeked inside to see the glory of all hangouts. A large room filled with bookshelves, and each bookshelf filled with books. There was also a small corner with a tv, video game consoles, and what looked like a mini bar. She walked inside to see a young boy about her age sitting in a bean-bag chair playing Mario Kart. Upon hearing the door creak the boy turned his head to look at her. He was a little taller, with spiky blonde hair. He wore cargo shorts with a white T-shirt and a light blue button up over it. Next to him sat a human-sized cybertronian. A minicon.
"Hi" he greeted "You must be the girl that came yesterday. My name's Rad and this is Highwire". He stood up, pausing his game to introduce himself and the minicon who gave a beep of introduction as well.
"Um, I'm Kylee" Kylee replied, not really sure what to do here.
"You wanna join us" Rad questioned, motioning to the game.
"No thanks, it's still a little too early for me" she glanced over to the bookshelves "Do you know if there's any good books over there?"
"Dunno" Rad answered "Me and my friends have only been here a few days and this is the first time I've been in here. I did find some pretty good snacks in that mini bar though. We were told this would be one of our designated hang outs". Kylee walked over, opening the fridge to find several varieties of sodas and energy drinks. She grabbed a cold coffee and popped it open. The taste was sweet and creamy, with a good kick of caffeine. Rad went back to his game as Kylee ventured through the bookshelves. They were mostly filled with old survival and military guides, maybe Agent Lennox would let them replace all these books with something a little more fun. She walked back over to Rad and sat in the chair next to his bean bag. Once more Rad offered her a controller and this time she accepted. For the next hour they raced and conversed. Rad told of how he and his friends had been involved with a team of autobots trying to stay under the radar in California. They had been hunting down dozens of lost minicons. A few months prior, they had been discovered by the government and were told they had a few months before they would be brought to the new base. He and his friends had decided to tell their parents that they would be going to a summer camp and eventually would tell them they got accepted to a "special boarding school". If they told their parents anything about the bots they could be in serious trouble.
"And your parent's believed all that" Kylee asked surprised.
"Yeah" Rad said "Our parents never really kept tabs on us. What about you? Whats your story?". Kylee wasn't so sure she was ready to tell that yet. Looking at her phone she stood up.
"I gotta go switch my laundry" She said as she excused herself "Nice talking to you". She waved goodbye and walked down the hall. That was close. A few stray tears slipped out of her eyes, but she wiped them away. Whenever people asked about her story she lost all control of her emotions. She entered the laundry room and put her clothes into the dryers. She walked back to her room. Upon entering she noticed Halo was gone, probably out for a morning jog or something. She sat down on the couch and turned on the tv, opening Netflix and turning on Stranger Things. She had seen every episode more times than she could count and was still waiting for season five to air. And just when Will was being possessed by the mindflayer, she heard a voice behind her.
"Oh my gosh you love Stranger Things too" Halo beamed. Kylee jumped.
"JEESE how are you so quiet" Kylee exclaimed.
"Oooh sorry" Halo apologized, she walked away to her room reappearing a few moments later with a towel and some clean clothes. She walked out into the hall, on her way to the showers. After a few minutes of stunned silence Kylee stood up and walked out of the room to grab her dry laundry. Bringing it back into her room she realized she would probably need to get some things for her room like shelves, bins, and a laundry basket. When she had finished folding all of the laundry and filling the dresser drawers, her stomach began to growl. She headed out of the room and to the elevator. Once she was outside she headed for the mess hall. But upon reaching the building she realized the giant doors were still closed.
"If your looking for breakfast it's not going to be in there this morning" said a thin scratchy voice. Kylee turned to see a tall, skinny bot behind her. He was completely silver and a set of wings adorned his back.
"Oh" Kylee replied "Where is it then? And who are you?". She pointed to him in confusion. The bot almost seemed offended at her words.
"I am none other than Starscream" he said, his voice rising higher "Commander of the decepticons, or rather autobot seekers now". His wings drooped a little. "Follow me" he muttered. He lead her past the hangars out to an open field, several acres long. There were dozens of tables lying out with plenty of food spread out across them. People sat on blankets. There were also a few large stacks of energon cubes. Bots and humans mingled together enjoying their breakfast as they prepared for the days events.
"Hey screamer, wait for me" called a voice. Kylee turned around to see Halo jogging up to them.
"MMmmm, well if you could clean up quicker perhaps I wouldn't have to wait for you" Starscream replied "Come along now, or I will leave you behind. I'd quite like a cube of energon before it's all gone" and with that he stomped off to join the others. Confused at the relationship between the two Kylee decided to ask.
"So are you two like friends or something" Kylee inquired.
"Partners" Halo answered "Screamer is my guardian". She jogged up to him, jumping on to his leg and wrapping her legs around, giggling like a child. Kylee smiled as Starscream gently shook his leg to try and get her off, but she held on tight. As he walked off, with Halo still attached to his leg, Kylee spotted Optimus.
"O.P." she called. She ran up to him as he lowered his hand, which she climbed into.
"Good Morning" He greeted, as he lifted her up to see her face "Did you sleep well last night?"
"Yeah and I got all my clothes washed and my stuff settled into my room" Kylee replied "You should come by later it's like right at face level for you".
"Perhaps I will" Optimus stated "But for now I believe you need to get some breakfast". He set her back on the ground. She walked over to the line of tables and fixed a plate, but as she turned around she wasn't quite sure where to sit. Suddenly a small hand poked at her elbow. Kylee looked over to see a small boy with red hair and glasses. He wore oversized clothing and carried a backpack. Kylee could easily tell he was from a larger family, much like her own.
"Are you looking for somewhere to sit" the boy asked.
"Uh yeah" she answered "I just got here yesterday and I don't really now anyone yet. I just didn't wanna be awkward".
"Yesterday? You're the new girl, Kylee" the boy exclaimed "Come on, you can sit with me and my friends." He led her over to a blanket surrounded by a few bots.
"Yeah that's me" she muttered, following behind him.
"By the way" he said as they walked "my name's Raf. And because so many people ask this question, I am 13". Kylee looked at him and for the first time noticed how short he was. He was at least a foot shorter than her. As they sat down Raf introduced his friends.
"That's Jack over there" he introduced a tall boy with black hair " And that's Miko". Kylee looked toward the young Japanese girl with bright pink pigtails. She waved shyly, muttering a quiet hello. She looked up to see Bumblebee joining them.
"Morning kid" he greeted "I see you've met Team Prime. You know me and Bulkhead. That's Arcee, Smokescreen, and Wheeljack. He pointed to each bot in turn. Suddenly Miko was in her face.
"So, where you from?" She asked, her words coming out in a flood "Do you have a partner yet? Bulkhead's mine. Do you like Slash Monkey? What about Rock and Roll? Can you play any instruments? Do you - whoa" Bulkhead cut her off by pulling her backwards.
"Cut it out Miko" he sighed, as she tried to continue with her blur of questions "Kylee's probably still tired and she probably didn't understand half of what you just said". He set her back down and she leaned against him.
"Well" Kylee began "I'm from North Carolina, I don't have a partner yet, never heard of Slash Monkey, I do like some Rock and Roll, mainly 80's and 90's stuff, and I do play guitar, preferably acoustic." She ate her breakfast as bots and humans alike stared at her.
"You understood all that" Arcee asked.
"I had six younger siblings" Kylee remarked "I'm used to playing twenty questions, though usually with five different people." As soon as she said it, she regretted it. Tears welled up in her eyes as she took a deep breath.
"What happened?" Jack asked, speaking up for the first time.
"I'd rather not talk about it" Kylee whispered, wiping her eyes. Miko looked at her with remorse, coming up with an idea.
"Hey have the bots told you about the time scraplets got into the base?" Miko questioned "When Bulk screamed like a little girl?" Kylee shook her head and listened as Miko began her story. They sat there for a while, telling stories of their adventures with the bots. They told of how Optimus had gotten an upgrade (and even had picture proof), and how after the war he had had to sacrifice himself to save cybertron. Luckily he had been returned to them by Primus in his original form only a few minutes after. Apparently Primus liked this guy because from what Kylee had heard, Optimus had had several near death experiences. After a little while Bee stood up to join Optimus as they headed for a clearing in the middle of the picnic.
"Greetings everyone" Optimus greeted "And welcome to all newcomers. My name is Optimus Prime, though I'm sure most of you know me by now. You are all here for different reasons. Whether you are simply friends without a home or in danger of decepticons still left scattered around Earth. The war may have ended but there will always be some who seek only evil. Some of us have chosen to stay on earth and we have decided that, in order to protect those who know of us we will pair up, a guardian and charge. To choose your partner Bumblebee has come up with a few games for each of you to get to know each other a little better. Bumblebee?" Bee stepped forward, his door wings fluttering with excitement.
"To start we paired up a few bots and humans that we thought would do well together" Bee started "If at some point, you would like to switch partners and hang out with someone else, just wait till the current game is over and then you can switch. Some of us already have partners so make sure you talk it out with their current partner, they might be permanent. There will be four games which we'll explain before they start. Just remember if you don't choose your partner today it's totally fine, you can take a few weeks to get to know some people or bots to choose your partners. Now to start, we're gonna have unpaired humans and bots come up and we're gonna give each of you the name of your partner. You have to find your partner by asking around and talking to different people. Take some time to talk to people." Bee clapped his hands and walked away. Kylee stood up and walked over to Bee. She stood in line waiting her turn to find out who her partner was.
"Kylee" she looked at Bumblebee upon hearing her name.
"Optimus knows your partner" He explained "He wants to talk to you for a second". Kylee threw a thumbs up and ran to find Optimus. She found him talking to Ratchet and a scarlet colored, female bot she hadn't met yet.
"Kylee," Optimus greeted, looking down to her "This is Elita One, she is one of my oldest friends and second in command to the autobots". Kylee looked up to the fembot.
"Hi" she waved to the tall bot "I think you forgot to mention that she's your girlfriend, or did you forget you told me that." Optimus gave a surprised look, as he had forgotten about telling Kylee of his relationship with the autobot commander. His face gained a blue tint as Elita knelt down to Kylee's level and held out her hand for a shake. Both girls chuckled at his reaction.
"Nice to meet you Kylee" Elita replied, as Kylee gripped her finger. ( I'm going with the Elita design from War for Cybertron trilogy).
"Is she my partner" Kylee asked, looking back to Optimus.
"No" Optimus replied, regaining his stoic appearance "However, I would like to talk to you about your partner." He began walking toward a large oak tree where there weren't any people. Kylee followed. What's so important about my partner that he needs to talk alone, she wondered. Standing under the large oak, Optimus looked down at Kylee.
"Kylee" he said "I've known you long enough to know that you have a good heart. You choose to see the good in everyone. The reason I tell you this is because your partner is Knock Out." He looked at her sternly. Kylee cocked her head, wondering what was going on.
"Who" she asked.
"During the war he was the decepticons medic" Optimus explained "But at the end, he chose to side with the autobots. His previous partner, Breakdown, was killed and experimented on by …". Optimus hesitated. Was it really a good idea to tell her about this. Before he could continue, Kylee understood.
"M.E.C.H." She looked up into his bright blue eyes "So he's kinda like me?"
"Knock Out does not appear to have many friends, if any" the Prime continued " Because he changed sides at the end of the war he has not made very good connections with the autobots yet and even before he changed sides, he was a bit of an outcast amongst the decepticons."
"Sounds like he could use a friend just as much as I could" Kylee stated. She was getting excited. She hadn't even seen this bot yet and she was already imagining the connection they could have. She was about to run off to try to find Knock Out when, Optimus stopped her.
"You should know" he began "He is not the kindest. I have not interacted with him myself but I have heard that he can be very snobbish and narcissistic. We have attempted pairing him with a few others before, but they all complained that he wanted nothing to do with them. I believe that perhaps you can help to change him for the better. And perhaps he can help you in turn." Kylee looked down, sounds like this was going to be a challenge.
"Got it" She joked "If he gets out of hand, threaten him with the pocketknife". She gave him a big goofy grin and ran off.
"Oh dear" Optimus sighed. As Kylee rejoined the group, she asked around a few people and bots to see if anyone knew who Knock Out was. She heard several remarks of "oh that guy" and "man, sucks to be her", but she didn't care. Finally someone was able to point him out, as he stood chatting with Starscream. It was then that she realized that this was the bot she had seen outside the night before.
"Hey Knock Out" she called as she sauntered up to him "I'm Kylee, I was told your my partner". He looked down at her with ruby optics.
"Hmmph" he murmured "Great, another newbie to torment. Alright human, I guess I'm stuck with you for the day and it looks like they're about to start the first game. Try and keep up." He quickly walked over to where the bots and humans were grouping together.
"Have fun with that one" Starscream sneered "He can be, as humans say it, quite an asshole sometimes. You'll probably want to switch after the first game." But Kylee ignored him. She ran to catch up with Knock Out. He looked down as she stopped right next to his leg. She smiled up at him, but he looked away and rolled his eyes. This outta be fun.
Ok so we got to see Rad and Jack, Miko, and Raf. Starting to see some crossovers which I love doing, and we're really getting into the fun stuff. Hope You guys like it.
