The Middle Season 4

Debbie, Courtney, and Lee were walking down the hallway together. They were trying to convince her to join the cheerleading team. "Cheerleaders and football players go together like Jell-o and fruit cocktail." Debbie was moving on to the angle of doing it for Axl.

"Cheese and crackers," Courtney adds.

"Mayo… and well everything." Debbie couldn't think of the second thing.

"Guys, it's the end of the year and there's no way Morgan would let me on the team." She didn't want to put herself through the humiliation of being rejected.

"We'll train you for the summer and Morgan is moving." The first thing Courtney thought of when Morgan announced she was moving was that Lee could be on the team now.

"It would be so cool if we could all be cheerleaders for senior year. We would get to spend more time together." Debbie claps.

"Wait, you guys want me to join cheerleading to spend time with me." She was flatter that they wanted her in their bubble. They nod their heads eagerly. "Do you guys think I'm cheerleader material? I can't go in the air or the top of a pyramid."

"Not everyone is a flyer." Debbie laughed like it was silly to think that.

"Despite what people say, everyone in the pyramid is important. The bottom to the very top." Courtney didn't want Lee to think she was bad because she was at the bottom.

"Okay, sure." She nods.

"Really?" Debbie leaned in like she misheard.

"Yeah, I should start exercising daily and Axl will love it. He might have hinted a few times." By hinting, he would say how hot she looked in the colt cheerleading uniform. Or how he would play better if she was on the sideline instead of the stands.

"We got to do strength training, flexibility exercises, and cardiovascular workouts." County lists. "Oh, we start with a yoga class at six o'clock sharp," Debbie told her.

"In the morning?" She gasps.

"Yes, we got a lot of work to do." Courtney grabbed her hand in excitement.

"Oh my god, family crisis. Red alert. Emergency." Axl ran into the house screaming.

"What's wrong?" Everyone ran out of their rooms.

"Help!" His heart was pounding harder than ever. He felt like there was no air in his lungs. "Calm down." Frankie ran to him. "Just breathe. In and out."

When he was able to breathe normally again, he told them his problem. "I lost Luffy." Lee had gone with her family to California to visit friends.

"What!" Brick screamed, having spent the most time with the dog while he was reading manga at Cole's residence.

"I took him to the dog park two blocks from the mall." He began the story.

"That's not a dog park. It's just a park." Mike shook his head.

"How was I supposed to know that? Every time I pass it I see someone with a dog." He explained his confusion.

"You should have known when you got there and the place wasn't completely fenced in." Mike continues his point.

"I have never been to a dog park. I didn't know what it was supposed to look like. I let him off his leash. I notice this milf checking me out. I'm texting Darrin and Sean about it. A kid asked me where my dog was. That's when I noticed Luffy was gone. I drove around the surrounding area. I couldn't find him. I called all the shelters nearby and they don't have him. What if he gets hit by a car or someone steals him? Lee will be devastated. She loves him. He got sick once, she worried herself so bad she couldn't eat." He was working himself up again.

"We will find him," Frankie promised.

"I'll make fliers. I'll tell all my friends to be on the lookout." Sue volunteers.

"Oh great, two more people will be looking." Axl scoffs.

"Axl, we're helping you here." Mike reminds him.

"Sorry. We can divide up the neighborhood to search and ask around." He told everyone what streets they would take.

Axl was desperate. The search came up empty. He was walking at night with a flashlight and Brick. "She's going to break up with me. She asked me a hundred times if I was sure about watching him. I was like totally babe you can count on me. I wanted to prove to her that she could lean on me." He was ranting.

"Axl." Brick pulls on his sleeve.

"Well, she can't. She knew that. She knew I would fail but loved me so much that she gave me a chance. She put her dog in my hands and I let him slip on the third day. I deserve to get broken up with." He hangs his head.

"Axl!" Brick yells.

"What?" He screams.

"Look!" He points at Cole's house. On the porch was the basset hound.

"Oh my god, he freakin homeward bound it." Axl ran across the street. "Luffy!" He hugs the dog. "You have no idea how happy I am to see you." The dog licks his face. "Let's get you inside." He took out the keys. "You are not leaving my side." Axl opens the door to let Luffy and himself in.

"Axl," Brick yelled from the outside.

"Oh sorry." He opened the door to let his brother in.

S4 E3: The Second Act

"I made the team. I made the team." Lee bounced up and down. She held the uniform to her chest.

"Of course. You did. You had the best trainers." Courtney and Debbie jump around with her.

"You gotta put it on. Then you can enter the cafe when Axl and you are announced homecoming king and queen." Courtney nodded to the uniform.

"You think I'll be homecoming queen." Lee could hear middle school her screaming no, don't be fooled.

"Yeah, you and Axl have been going out since freshman year. You are the power couple of the school." Debbie thought they'd be prom king and queen too.

"I guess that makes sense." She rode on Axl's popular coattails.

Lee was standing outside of the cafe doors in her cheer uniform. "You're going to have to quiet down if we're going to announce the homecoming court. I'm not kidding people… fine, I'll wait." The principal failed to get the student to quiet down. She sighs, ignoring the buzzing of her phone. It was Axl asking where she was. He wanted her there for his big moment. "Seriously people… okay." He perks up when they finally quiet down. "The votes have been tallied and your homecoming court is as follows, for the Seniors: Presley Cole and Axl Heck."

"Yes!" Axl could be heard over the cheers. "You may have heard I totaled my car in a demolition derby…. Holy shit." He curses into the mic when Lee walks into the cafe. The principal took that moment to push him away. He ran over to his girlfriend.

"I made the squad." She hugged him.

"I didn't know you were trying out." He beams.

"I wanted it to be a surprise. While you were in summer school I was training with Courtney and Debbie." She did a twirl, so he could appreciate the view.

"You fill it out so well." He ran his hands along her sides. She giggles at him biting his bottom lip. "Wait, does this mean you can do the splits? Have you been holding out on me?" His hands rested on her hips to squeeze it.

"Well, it would be suspicious if I showed off my flexibility out of nowhere." She wraps her arms around his neck to pull him down to kiss him.

"You look so hot. This makes up for my parents not buying me a new car because my mom's going to drop to part-time so she can go to school." He rants between kisses.

"Axl, don't mention your mom when my tongue is in your mouth." She pulls away to look up at him. "Wait, your mom is going back to school?"

"Yeah, because she wants to get a job she loves and make more money to help pay for college. Now, I have to suffer through my senior year." He whines.

"Axl, what your mom is doing is inspirational. So many people don't try to better themselves after a certain age. You need to support her." She massages his shoulders to relax him and make him more agreeable.

"I'll try." He hums.

S4 E4: Bunny Therapy

"He's out of the bathroom. He's out of the bathroom." Sue's screams bounce around the house.

"Hi, bugs." Lee bent over to pick up the white bunny. She cradles her to her chest while she walks into the kitchen to see the family on the furniture.

"Get him away from your boobs. I love them." Axl was standing on the dining table.

"What are you talking about? She's a sweet girl." She pets the bunny.

"What? A girl." Brick jumps down from the chair.

"How did you bond with it?" Frankie got down from the counter.

"Every time I had to go to the bathroom the other was full so I used the main one. I had to go a lot because I'm trying to drink the recommended 11 cups a day. At first, she stayed in the corner. Then, she sniffs my feet. Slowly, she let me pet her and pick her up. Now, she loves cuddling with me." Bugs purr under Lee's hands.

"Oh, she looks so sweet." Sue pets her. Right, when her hands touch the fur, Bugs lets out a growl. "Oh god." She held her hand to her chest like she got bit. In her defense, she had been many times before.

"Lee, do you think your dad would let you have a bunny?" Mike asks

"Mike, don't give Brick's bunny away!" Frankie scolds.

"She can have it. The responsible thing to do would be to give her a better home." Brick reasoned.

"I'll ask him." She ran out with a bunny in hand.

"I built her a bunny village." The Heck went to Cole's backyard to see Bugs' new home.

"She's living better than me." Frankie gasps.

"She's got six houses." Brick counts.

"We're going to insulate the attic and build her a place up there for the winter. She likes my grandma too. Not very fond of my dad or Luffy but it's fine." She hoped she would eventually like them too.

"I got dinner." Donna came out with a bunny's dream salad. Bugs dart out of the big house to meet her in the middle of the cage. She ate with gusto.

"She eats better than us too." Sue didn't know the last time she had something fresh.

"I'm getting into a good family. I don't know about the rest of you." Axl brags.

S4 E7: The Safe

Axl was lying beside Lee. "I can't believe I have to get a tutor. Sue ruins everything." He grumbles. Sue ran over his foot putting him on the bench for most of the year. His parents were scared he might lose his scholarship. They were making him focus on his grades, so he would get into college if that happened. "You can tutor me. You are in the running for valedictorian."

"Yeah, but this was supposed to be a tutoring session, and look how it turned out." She gestures to their naked bodies.

"That was your fault, not mine. I have a cast on my foot. You practically took advantage of me." He put his cast in the air.

"Whatever." She pushed his head playfully. "I hope you get Cassidy."

"Your quiet friend with the resting bitch face." He scoffs.

"She can't help her face and she's shy." She lied. In reality, Cassidy hated him. That's why her face was like that when she saw him and never spoke to him. "She won't let you slack off. She isn't interested in sports, parties, or popularity. If you get one of the guys, you'll be able to persuade them with a party they dream of being invited to."

"I hope I get anyone but her." He snorts.

Axl sat across from Cassidy. He thought she was odd, she hated him for the same reasons that everyone loved him. "You got a 0 out of 20 on the quiz, so you didn't do any reading on the ban of pigs." She passed him the test she made for him.

"I was going to but I got invited to the lake and awesomeness ensued. Why didn't you come?" He tilts his head.

"I had to study." She rolled her eyes.

"Lee has all the same classes as you and she goes to the parties." He called out her excuse.

"Lee is naturally smart, frustratingly so. She says she doesn't, but I swear she has a photographic memory." She would study for weeks for a test and Lee would study for a few hours the night before. Somehow, they got the same A.

"If it makes you feel better, she can't understand sports. I've explained it a hundred times. She struggles with cooking but she is getting better. Oh, and she can't sing." Axl thought those things made her seem more human and not like a goddess walking the earth.

"So, because she doesn't get sports and struggles cooking, she is a flawed woman to you." Cassidy sneers.

"Jeez, you find something wrong with everything I say. I don't get why you don't get my awesomeness. Your friends with my girlfriend, you should know how great I am. I don't know if you saw the flyer around town wishing for me to get better. I inspired all that love. You're just a judgemental nerd who hates jocks because we experience life instead of jamming our nose in a book." He was tired of her attitude.

"Are you kidding me? I don't hate you because you're a jock. I hate you because you're a shitty boyfriend to my friend. She's brilliant, beautiful, and has so much potential that it oozes out of her. You treat her like you're the prize. You are not the prize" She slammed her hands on the table.

"I don't treat her shitty. I took her out for a romantic Valentine's date with earrings that she wears all the time." He defends himself.

"How many times have you entertained other girls? I know because I've held her every time she cried. You only went all out on Valentine's Day because you were ditching her to hang out with your hot boss. You asked another girl to prom." She pointed out the last time he made Lee cry. It was extra sad in the fitting room in a prom dress.

"I didn't ask Ashley. That was a misunderstanding. I made mistakes but I've always made up for it." He wasn't perfect but he never intentionally hurt her.

"Yeah, you're always making up for mistakes." She huffs. "You don't take an interest in her things. Do you know she goes to the state for the science fair? Or that she is making her prom dress in the sewing club?"

"I knew that she was in the sewing club and that she won the school science fair." He half listened when school things came up.

"What do you do for her, Axl? All week, you've been milking your injury to get her to baby you. All summer she has been practicing to be a cheerleader so she can be your dream girl. You can't even ace a practice test for her." She held up the failed test.

"I wasn't studying for her." He squints.

"Exactly, Axl you do nothing for her or your future. This injury should show you that sport might not work for you. What do you bring to the table then? What are you going to do? Are you going to live off of Lee? I can't picture your lazy self being a good house husband." She was never less impressed by him than at this moment.

"I…I…" Axl felt his brain go into overdrive as he pictured himself without football in the future it was a big dark hole. "I got to go." He rushed out of the room. He hobbled to the home economics classroom where the sewing club was.

"Hey, aren't you supposed to be tutoring?" Lee tilts her head while putting her hands on her hips.

"I was… but I had… I had to look at you." He is out of breath, more with emotions than physical activity.

"Are you okay?" Her eyebrows meet in the middle.

"I love you and don't know if I do it right." He grabs her neck to pull her into a hard kiss. "I love you. I'm sorry if I took you for granted."

"Axl, you're scaring me." She whispers.

"Cassidy made me realize that I need to step up for you the way you do for me." He wanted to be the boyfriend she deserved.

"Axl, she can be harsh and cynical. It is my fault she doesn't like you. I'm always running to her when I cry and…" She didn't want him to feel bad.

"It's not your fault." He grabbed her face. "I'm happy you have a friend to talk to when I'm being a jerk. I want you to know that whether football works out or not I'm going to be a good partner to prove that I'm going to ace the history test."

"Axl, I know you will. Anytime you put effort into something you shine." She believed him more than he did himself.

S4 E14: The Smile

It was spirit week at school and today was baby day. Lee was in a Wish Bear Onesies with turquoise Converse. All the cheerleaders were dressed as care bears. "Axl! Axl!" She ran over to him. He was at his locker with Darrin and Sean. They were wearing diapers and had pacifiers wrapped around their necks. "Hi, Darrin. Hi Sean. Axl, I got into East Indiana. Isn't it great? We'll be going to school together." She hugs him. She was so excited she didn't take notice of him weakly patting her back.

"That's great, Lee. I got into Notre Dame. I got the letter this morning." Sean told them.

"That's amazing. Congrats Sean." She pats his shoulder.

"Wow, maybe you'll date a leprechaun." Axl teases. At moments like this, she realized why Sean was Axl's friend. Because he looks up in space to imagine a female leprechaun.

"It's not just him. You are looking at three pillars of higher education. I just got my fat envelope from the Midwest Institute of Air Conditioning Repair. First Choice." Darrin brags.

"I'll know who I'll be calling on hot summer days." Lee's fists bump him. Axl looks at her with narrow eyes. "What? It's always good to know a guy."

"So, what about you? Did you hear back from East Indiana?" Sean wonders.

"Nothing official yet, but the recruiter told me it's a lock. So… I'm not sweating it." He swallows the lump in his throat.

"If it doesn't happen, I could probably get you in at M.I.A.C.R. I'm legacy." He nods to let him know he got him.

"No, we have an A/C man in this group already, he would have to go into mechanics or plumbing." Lee waves that idea off.

"Smart thinking. I have an uncle who is a mechanic. He can do an apprenticeship with him." Darrin gave another option. Lee gave him a thumbs up.

Sean could see Axl getting into his head. "Enough college and future talk, let's talk about something really important, senior prank."

"I don't know if I'm going to do the prank this year." He shrugged.

"What?" Lee's jaw dropped. They told her they had been brainstorming their senior prank since kindergarten. Now, he was saying he didn't want to do it. "You have to, Axl."

"We're seniors, we've been waiting years." Darrin had been looking forward to this.

"I just don't feel like it okay? Don't get your diapers in a twist." He yells at him.

"There are no diapers. There are adult comfort shorts. My grandpa wears them when he plays golf." Darrin defends them.

The bell rang. "I'll see you guys later." Lee waves to Darrin and Sean.

Axl walks alongside her. Their classes were next to each other. "Your ass looks great." He slows down to stare.

"Thank you." She threw a smile at him from over her shoulder.

Axl was laying his head down on the desk. His phone buzzed making him check it. "Yes, I'm in. Oh my god!" He jumped up from his seat. "I just got an official email from East Indiana State. It's official I'm in. That's it!" He ran around giving everyone high fives. "I'm outta here so long, suckers. East Indiana State Freshman Rule!" He picked up his textbook and folder to slam it in the trash. He laughed his way out the door. A few seconds pass before he peeks his head back in. "I still have to graduate, don't I?" The teacher nods her head and points to his seat. "Can I tell my girlfriend quickly? She only applied to that school for me. So…"

"Fine." She sighs.

"Thanks." Axl ran to the next classroom. He stuck his head in. "I got in, Babe."

"Yes!" Lee got up to swing the door open and hug him. Her teacher cleared his throat. "Sorry. Congrats Axl." She gave him a peck before returning to her seat.

S4 E15: Valentine's Day VI

"Axl, why did April tell me that you broke up with her for her boyfriend." Lee approaches her boyfriend and his friends.

"Ex-boyfriend." He corrected her.

"Axl, you made my friend cry for a guy you didn't even know." She crosses her arms.

"It's a new service that Boss Co. is offering," Sean told her.

"To what? To break up with a coward's girlfriend for them, because they don't want to do Valentine's Day." She scoffs.

"Yup." Darrin nods eagerly.

"It pays well." Axl brags.

"A girl is going to end up beating you guys up." She warns them.

"Oh, so scared." Axl pretends to shiver.

Lee walks into her boyfriend's house. "Axl, you have to stop. Girls are running from me because they associate me with you and think I'm going to break up with them."

"Sit." He pats his lap. She sat down and he handed her a stack of money. "Count." He wrapped an arm around her waist while she counted.

"You got all this from breaking up with girls?" She looks at him.

"Yup, still want me to quit? Because I was thinking we could go out to a nice dinner and then we swing by the mall and get any sexy lingerie you want." He bops her nose.

"The green one that I wanted to get but couldn't because I was scared my dad would see it on the credit card." She did like the way the cash felt in her hands.

"The very one." He wiggled his eyebrows.

"If they are going to hire you to break up with their girlfriend, they are better off without them." She shrugged. He took his wallet out to hand to her. She put the cash in for him.

"See guys, women love gifts. You need cash for that." He told a depressed Darrin and Sean.

"What's up with them?" She asked.

"They can't handle the crying girls." He scoffs.

"Kelly cried her contacts out. I heard she failed a calculus test because she couldn't see. She might not graduate now." Sean rubs his temples.

"Maybe you guys can talk to the teacher," Lee suggested.

"Solutions." Axl kissed her cheek.

"I need a man's opinion." Sue came in with a pink robe. "For the dance tonight, should I wear my hair up or down?"

"Over your face. You can weave it into your braces so it'll stay." Axl put his wallet in front of his mouth.

"Up," Darrin answers.

"Thank you. Mom said my forehead is my best feature." She skips to her room.

"I never thought about my forehead being attractive." Lee got up to look in the reflection of the microwave.

"That's because you got a nice rack, swaying hips, and a fat ass." Axl lists.

"Do you think my chubby cheeks are unattractive?" She turned to them.

"Nah, it's more room for my…" Axl continued to stroke her ego.

"We're still here?" Sean sighs.

"And still depressed. Look guys, it's business. These girls are going to get broken up with anyway. If we didn't, someone else would have. This way, we build a successful company, sell it to the Chinese, buy some recording time, cut a hit album, then start a men's fragrance line." Axl sold the dream.

"But, at what cost?" Sean asks.

"I agree with Sean. All this money is covered in tears." Darrin stares in disgust at the stack in front of him.

"Lee, don't think about the money. Think about Axl using this service." Sean looks at her.

She leaned against the kitchen counters as she thought about it. "Don't think about that. Are you trying to get her mad at me?" He turned to Sean.

"See you know it's morally wrong." He points his finger at him.

"I know nothing." He shook his head. The phone rang. "Phone," Axl called.

"Get it!" Sue told him.

"No, you get it." He yells.

"I'm getting ready, so get it." She puts her hair up.

"I'm in a business meeting." He slammed his hand on the table.

"You're closer." She argues.

"So?" He didn't see her point.

"So, get it." She hissed.

"No, you get it." He made his voice deep.

"I'll get it." Lee went to answer it when the answering machine beeped.

"Hi Sue, this is Matt. Listen, I can't take you to the dance because Sheri and I got back together…" He could be heard by everyone in the room.

Lee grabs the phone. "Hi Matt, this is Lee."

"Axl's girlfriend?" He raised his voice.

"Yeah, that's me. I'll get Sue." She told him.

"Well… I gotta get going." He sounds hesitant.

"Where? To a date with Sherri, does she know that the day after you guys broke up you set up a Valentine's date with Sue? If you don't want her to find out, you are going to do the decent thing and be honest with Sue. She's the only pure-hearted person I know, and you better be gentle. I have access to so many unmarked cars and I will run your small ass over." She threatens.

"Okay? I'll do it." He was surprised by the rage.

"I know you will." She walks to Sue's door. "Sue, Matt's on the phone."

"Thank you." She takes it.

Lee walks to the kitchen. "You're going to shut it down. The least all these guys owe these girls is an honest conversation."

"Okay, you're right." His heart was breaking at imagining Sue crying over Matt.

"Here's what is going to happen? I'm going to get in there and hyper her up to go to the dance. One of you is going to take her." She pointed at Sean and Darrin. "The only thing that's going to stop everyone from talking about how Matt ditched her is if she shows up with a popular senior." "I'll take her." Darrin volunteers.

"Good man." She pats his shoulder.

"Bye, have fun at the dance." Lee waves to Darrin and Sue. She grabbed her jacket off the hook to put it on.

"Where are you going?" Axl was watching TV with Sean in the living room.

"To Debbie's, she's hosting a Galentines spa night." She texts them that she is coming.

"What? But this is the first Valentine's I have money." He waves his thick wallet in the air.

"You're always talking about Valentine's being a BS holiday. I don't want to be around men tonight." She grabs her purse off the coffee table.

"Can you believe it?" Axl said after the front door closed behind her.

"It is karma for ruining so many people's Valentine's Day." Sean shrugged.

"Let's reverse that and bring a couple we broke up together." Axl and Sean ran out the door. They didn't know it, but they were going to get beat up by a group of freshman girls.

S4 E20: Dollar Days

Lee and Sue were watching their boyfriends practice for the gig they had coming up. "It's hot to watch your boyfriend play," Sue whispers to her. Lee nods, knowing Axl should scream if he sees them talking.

When it ends they throw the rock sign up in the air. "This will be our Axl and the Ax Men's signature pose. We should seriously try to patent it." They finally put their arms down.

"Yeah, I've been thinking. Our name sounds a little 50s or whatever." Darrin was nervous about bringing it up.

"What are you talking about?" Axl tilts his head.

"Sue had an interesting idea." He pointed a drumstick at her.

"Yeah, okay." Axl snorts a laugh.

"Well, we were hanging out. And I thought it may sound a little. Blah. But, then we thought what if it had all your names in it? Darrin, Sean, Axl… DaSeanAx." She put her Cheetos fingers out to present it.

"DaSeanAx… that's pretty cool." Sean nods in approval.

"In what universe?" He scoffs. "We are a brand. We are Axl and the Axmen. My name is in it, yes, but I started the band and I was the one who got us this gig and I was the one who was up all night working on a new album cover." He points at the paper on the table.

"No, you didn't. You watched Titanic with mom and then you went to bed. I think he was crying. He cries a lot." She told his friends. "Lee came by with the album cover this morning." She pointed to the paper.

"Sue, you don't talk about men crying to other men." She knew Axl was already annoyed with her and Darrin dating.

"Let's just play." Axl dropped the subject. They played for a little before Axl stopped to yell at Darrin. "Dude, you're killing the song. It needs more egg."

"I can't drum and play the egg at the same time." He showed his problem. "I'm not an octopus."

"Well, Lee can't play. She can't hold a tune in any form." Axl had made her try and she failed.

"I told you that the first day I met you." She reminds him.

"I'll do it." Sue stood up with her hand raised. "I played the tambourine for Reverend TimTom. I don't want to brag but I was pretty good."

"Nope, no way. Not happening. My sister is not in the band." He shook his head.

"We're out of hands, Axl. This song doesn't rock without the egg. We have no choice. I say we gave her a chance." Darrin throws her the egg. She caught it dancing around while shaking it. Lee didn't see why they needed the egg, you couldn't hear it over the other instruments.

"I didn't know Dollar Day was a talent show." Lee watched the little girl in tutus run around.

"I did. I don't remember it being this lame." Sean didn't want to compete with children.

"I check the schedule. We're going between the Fancy Feet: Gangnam Style Tap Number, and Itty Bitty Jujitsu." He pretended to dance then did karate chops.

"Oh, Itty Bitty Jujitsu is such a cute name." Lee coos at the small children in gis.

"Nice spot, those jujitsu kids are really good." Darrin nods.

"Are you sure about this, Axl? I was expecting, I don't know, something a little less sad. We're competing with elementary kids." He pointed at the ballerinas.

"Every band has to pay their dues. This will be a great story for the Rolling Stones someday when we're kicking it in our mansions, trying to decide which Ferraris to take to go yachting. It humanizes us." He pumps them up for the show. Darrin put his drum up to show the DaSeanAx sticker. "What is that?" He took a deep breath not to lose it.

"I already ordered the sticker before you said you didn't want to change the name. And then I was going to tell you but I forgot, so then I thought I would bring it here anyway and see how everybody felt." Sue explained from the top of a haystack.

"I like it." Sean liked that his whole name was in it.

"I think it looks awesome, Sue." Darrin smiles at her.

"Do you Darrin? Do you think it looks awesome? You know what I think? I think I've had it. I have been so cool! So Cool! But, I'm so sick of this." He points at Sue. "You are Yokoing the band! But, not just the band. You're Yokoing my school. You're Yokoing my house. You two together are poisonous. Do you want to be DaSeanAx? Fine, go ahead. No, maybe you should be DaSeanSue because the Ax man is out." He storms away.

"He lasted longer pretending to be cool with you guys than I thought." Lee sighs before running after him. "Axl! Axl! Babe, I'm in booted heels."

"I'm not going back there. I'm not apologizing." He held firm as the rage brewed inside him. "I'm sick of her. She wants in with all my things. She had to be a mascot to be on the same field as me. Every time I bring someone over she tries to befriend them. If she had it her way, she would be sitting at the same lunch table as me in school. And now, she got my friends turning on me and wanting to change the band name. Darrin wouldn't have even learned the drums if it wasn't for me telling him to."

"Okay, maybe you guys can come up with a band name that all three of you like and doesn't have anyone's name in it. I shouldn't be so honest because you're mad but they both suck." She felt a weight being lifted off her.

"What?" He swung the guitar behind his back.

"Every time I hear Axl and the Axmen, I think of Josie and the Pussycats. And DaSeanAxl sounds like a celebrity couple's shipping name. They're both corny." She wouldn't listen to either band with that name. "And you don't need the egg. The egg adds nothing. I can't even hear it."

"Why is everyone trying to hurt me tonight?" He grabbed his chest.

"Axl, you love being a part of the band. Are you willing to give it up because they are not being yes men? You can go back. You can brainstorm a different name, get rid of the egg, and if you don't want Sue involved then make the practices no girlfriends allowed and do it at Darrin's house. Doesn't his mom make you guys lunch when you do?"

After a few minutes, he hummed. "I'll think about it."

"Come on, let's get back so you can put your guitar away. You don't want to hit it against something." They walk to the talent show. Axl went to put his guitar away. Lee went over to Darrin, Sue, and Sean. "I talk him down. I don't think you're playing tonight but he is not quitting the band."

"I need to talk to him." Darrin walked over to him.

The three couldn't hear but by Axl's big gesture, it couldn't be good. "Oh no." Lee sighs. Axl flicks Darrin's forehead. They started to slap each other like little girls. "This is embarrassing." Darrin flicks him back. Their fight continues on stage ruining the children's shadow dancing as they hit each other with balloons. "So embarrassing." Sean agrees.

Darrin shoves Axl off stage but Sue runs to stop him from hitting the ground. "Stop it. Stop! You guys are friends." Darrin throws a punch that Axl dodges, making him hit Sue in the mouth.

"Sue!" They scream while running to her.

"Oh my god, Sue! Your braces scratch up your mouth. Let's go to the bathroom." She helped her up. She had to rinse her mouth out a few times.

"I'm going to have to break up with him." Sue felt a pain in her heart as well as her mouth.

"Sue, Axl can get over himself." She whines at seeing Sue's fat lip.

"No, he can't. I would be upset if he was going out with Carly." She knew if the shoe was on the other foot, she would be acting like Axl.

"Well, let's get you some ice first." Lee grabs her hand. Sue squeezes it in support as they walk out. She got a ziplock of ice before sitting down with Darrin on a haystack.

"Come on, Axl." Lee grabbed her boyfriend's hand.

"I didn't mean for her to get hit. I was upset with her but I wouldn't want her to be in physical pain." He felt bad for screaming at her. "I guess it wasn't so bad that she wants to be close to me."

"I know, you would get around to it." She squeezed his hand.

S4 E22: Hallelujah Hoedown

"Boss Co. doing promposals is raking it in. We're going to be able to take a limo to prom." Axl was wearing a suit jacket over his Boss Co. shirt.

"Guys do the least when it comes to their girlfriends. Speaking of which, I want you to ask me to prom this year." She closed her locker.

"You want to be asked, cool." He grabbed a rose in a balloon from his bag.

"You better not be thinking of asking me the same way you did all the other girls." She smacked his hand that held the balloon away from her.

"You didn't care last year." Last year, she told him she bought the tickets. "Besides, promposal for guys asking random girls. We have been together for four years. We don't need that silliness." She crossed her arms and glared. "You're such a bossy woman." He groans.

"I could be like Sean's ex-girlfriend and expect you to read my mind, then scream at you when you fail." She cocks an eyebrow.

"I'll get to brainstorming." He accepted his faith.

Lee came downstairs in a pink Hisoka crop top, high-waisted skinny jeans, and black flats. The recliner was turned around and on it was a purple teddy bear holding a sign that said Prom would be unBEARable without you. "Do you want to go to prom with me?" Axl came out of the kitchen carrying a plate that had a pancake in the shape of a teddy bear. It had blueberry for eyes, strawberry bowtie, and banana buttons.

"Yes. Thank you." She kissed his cheek. She took the plate to the dining room. They had breakfast with her family.

They got into her car to go to school. "Hey, I like that you're bossy." He didn't want her to think she couldn't tell him what she wanted.

"What?" She laughed and glanced at him before looking back at the road.

"I would have never thought to ask you to prom. Because I asked, we got a great memory to look back on. It was nice seeing you happy." He had been thinking about it at breakfast. "And, it stops us from having a lot of problems. My mom is mad that my dad isn't a good gift-giver but wouldn't tell him what she wants. But, you point at a shirt and say my birthday is in two weeks."

"I'm laughing, but I promise I'm touched. I never thought someone would say they like my brattiness." She told Axl exactly what she wanted because she wasn't going to settle for anything else.

"I said bossy… let's go with assertiveness, that sounds better." A smirk came over his face. "We'll save bratty for the bedroom when you need a spanking."

Lee walked into Heck's house in a red dress that had one spaghetti strap and another going across the chest and a high slit on the left side. Darrin, Sean, Courtney, and Debbie were waiting in the entryway. "Hello Lee, you look lovely tonight." Sean smiles.

"Yes, Beautiful." Darrin nods.

"Oh yeah, so gorgeous." Debbie nods. "Don't you think, Court?"

"Total gorg. I can't believe you made it." She looks at the seam line. "The stitching is so neat."

"Thank you. Everyone here looks breathtaking." She looks over the dressed-up group.

"Wait, you made your dress?" Sean gave it another look and was impressed.

"Yeah, it was a six-month project in the sewing club." She learned quickly that silk was not a forgiving fabric.

Axl left his mom when he saw her. He let out a wolf whistle as he rushed over. "Looking good, baby." He slips on a red corsage.

"Thank you. You look very handsome." She pins a red boutonniere.

"The rest of the school is waiting to bask in our hotness. Let's go." He opens the door.

"Thanks for the pre-prom, Mrs. Heck." Courtney smiles. Lee waves to her while Axl tugs her out the door. "Wasn't it an awesome pre-prom, Deb?"

"Awesome and Happy Mother's Day. You should get a makeover or something. You look tired. Doesn't she look tired, Court?" She turned to her friend.

"Super tired." She nods.

"Okay. Have fun, girls." She waves to them before yelling. "It's all downhill from prom night."

"Hey Everybody, I'm Sean Donahue, President of the Class of 2013, I just want to thank you for coming tonight. Now let's get the announcement…. And the prom king is…" He opens the envelope. "Yes! My boy, Axl Heck."

"Go, babe." She pushed. He got a red regal king crown placed on his head.

"For Prom Queen…" Sean opened the envelope. "We all knew this was coming, the rookie cheerleader of the year, Presley Cole." She thanked him after she got a tiara put on her head.

"We'll have the Prom King and Queen do their royal dance." Sean got the DJ to play Adore You by Miley Cyrus.

Lee and Axl began to slow dance. "You're not going to East Indiana for me, right?"

"What? Why would you ask that?" She moved her hands from his shoulder to his neck.

"You're smart. You could get into any college you want. The last time I was at your house I saw a picture of you as a kid in a sweater for Caltech. Your grandma was saying that was your dream college. If that is your dream then you should go there." His palm started to sweat.

"That was when I wanted to do something in the science field, but those are regular childhood dreams of winning a Nobel Peace Prize by creating a substantial energy that could power the globe." She plays with the curls on the back of his neck.

"Yeah, a normal childhood dream." He laughs.

"I found a passion and got good at it." She laughs when he tilts his head. "I'll give you a hint, you have your hands on it."

"Your ass?" He squeezed it.

"No, my dress. I love to design clothes. I know it is a pipe dream, but I want to be a designer. East Indiana has an amazing program." She felt selfish to ditch a noble dream for a materialistic one, but she enjoyed it so much.

"Thank god. We would have made it work long distance but it would have been hard." A teacher cleared their throat and made him move his hands to her hips.

S4 E24: The Graduation

Lee was at Darrin's graduation party. "Your mouth is all green." Debbie giggled when Lee opened her mouth wide to stick her tongue out Gene Simmons style.

"Aw, babe, don't get me turned on in front of all our friends." Axl grabbed her face to hold her in place while he got closer. Lee gasped in horror and shoved him back. "What the hell, Lee!" He caught his footing.

"Dude, your mom." Sean gasps.

Axl turns around to his mom in her blue flannel nightgown, purple jacket, hair a mess, and faded smeared makeup. He put one finger up to tell them to give him a second. He walks over to whisper to her. "Someone in our family better be dead right now and not some weird cousin I've never met. I'm talking Dad, Brick, or Sue."

"Nobody's dead, but if you don't get in my car right now it can be arranged." Her voice rang through the room.

"Just go, please, and I'll meet you outside in three minutes. I promise." He begs.

"You already promised to be home by 11:30, so I think the promised ship has sailed. Hi Sean." She waves to his friend.

"Oh." He put up a hand to tell them not to acknowledge her. "You don't want to do this, mom. Seriously. This is the most embarrassing thing any parent has ever done, ever."

"Are you sure about that? Oh, I like this song." She started to dance.

"What are you doing?" He hisses.

"I don't know. This groove kinda makes me feel like getting down." She wiggles her hips. The teens started to laugh.

"Mom, no. Don't do this to me." Darrin came over to dance with her. She pointed and smiled at him. "This is my last high school party. I can't end like this. Darrin!" He yelled at his friend to stop. "No! No!" He put his jacket over his head while running up the basement stairs.

"Thank you for dancing with me, Darrin. See you later, Lee." She waved to the other two teens who were regularly at her house.

"Have a nice night, Mrs. Heck." Lee covered her mouth so she couldn't see her jello-shot mouth.

"Picture. Picture." All the seniors and their families were on the school lawn. Donna Cole was taking a picture of Lee with every friend who came over to congratulate her.

"Grandma, you can't hold everyone who comes here hostage." Lee teases.

"This is not everyone, this is Axl. We definitely need a picture with him." She smiles when Axl gets into position. He threw an arm over her shoulders and pulled her against him with a large smile.

"Kiss Ass," Lee whispers through a smile while her grandma clicks away.

"Just make it so if you go crazy and leave me then I'll get to keep my grandma." He kissed her cheek and left his lips there for Donna to get a picture of it. "I got to see my family." He looks at them across the lawn.

"Be nice to your mom. That was her sobbing after your name got called." She didn't know if he would be mad at the further embarrassment.

"I know. I will." He jogs over to them.

"Lee." Debbie and Courtney ran over to hug her. Donna was clicking away.
