That feeling of something snapping into place still resonated deep inside my chest as me, and the impossibly gigantic being that towered over me continued to stare into each others eyes.

I stayed rigidly still, too frightened by what this great beast would do if I moved too quickly. I had heard somewhere that animals saw any sudden movements as a threat, and while I didn't know whether or not it was the same for a dragon, it wasn't a risk I wanted or was willing to take.

I couldn't help but gape at this magnificent creature. In my life I had seen many different depictions of what people believed dragons looked like, some where long and slender like snakes, some had legs and/or wings while others where just glorified worms, some even had multiple heads! But never had I ever seen a dragon real or otherwise, that looked as if it was made entirely of metal.

I mentally sighed. While for some irrational reason I felt safer acting like a petrified statue, I knew that eventually I would need to move.

I tried my best to stand, but I couldn't stop my legs shaking with the strain of what felt like giving a piggyback ride to a baby elephant. Despite me trying my best not to, I just couldn't handle the weight of my own body, and I flopped back down with a clank and a frustrated huff.

I looked down so I could glare at my body, thinking I would have to be built like a toothpick for me to be so weak. But instead of the body I had been using for the past seventeen years, I was now glaring at the scrawny physique of another metallic reptile.

My brain must have short circuited, because however hard I try I cant remember what I was feeling in that moment, I only remember being completely fixated on these new appendages of mine. What should have been my arms where now the front legs of a smaller dragon. My hands where now paws, each with two large and very sharp looking claws, which I experimentally flexed.

I was simply astonished, examining every detail as carefully as if I was trying to understand a quantum physics textbook.

Through my haze of unidentifiable emotions, the dragon must have sensed that I was feeling distressed, because it brought its face back down to my level and started to rub against mine (thankfully minus the tongue), like it was trying to comfort me.

I started to chirp again, trying to steady myself as the dragon was pushing me closer to the edge of the table I was on with its face.

??? - *rumbling chuckle* There is no need for panic, I would never hurt you, accidentally or otherwise

My head swivelled around, looking in confusion for who the new voice could be coming from, but I found nothing, and whoever it was just kept chuckling.

While the mystery voice was busy being amused at my confusion, and I was busy questioning whether or not I had finally gone mad, the stranger with the large hand was standing in a corner, taking notes on what looked like an oversized, luminous iPad while occasionally looking up at us. Once he seemed finished with his note taking, he put the iPad down and walked over to a still very confused me, and very gently, picked me up by my mid-section like how you would pick up a cat.

The stranger cradled me in his arm and held my right hand-turned-paw softly as he removed the IV. As the stranger wiped my paw of the small bulb of glowing blue blood I gawked at the fact that his other hand was a massive cannon.

'What the actual hell is going on? This just keeps getting weirder'

I took the opportunity to look around the room as the one-handed giant started to move about while still holding me, and I realised that I was in a dilapidated lab, filled with all sorts of alien looking devices.

'Wait a minute… I'm in a lab? …Thats concerning'

I looked up at the colossus, trying to gauge whether or not he was the kind of person who would experiment on me. Sure he had told me I didn't need to be afraid, but could I really take his word for that?

Looking up at him I was mildly surprised that the only facial feature he had was a single, glaring red eye, which unfortunately gave away nothing about his character.

??? - Doctor in the house, so, how is the little femme fatal

A new voice spoke up as the sound of an automatic door swooshed open and closed. When the robot holding me turned to face him, I could see he was another enormous bot, however he was very different to the one holding me. He was sleek and well polished, had both hands and a bright cherry red paint job which made him stand out from everything else around him.

??? - The sparkling is doing well, despite its early emergence, however, its designation is yet to be determined

I barely acknowledged the sigh that came from the newest robot as he tried to explain what he meant by femme fatal, and thought about what had just been said.

'Sparkling? Whats a sparkling and why are they calling me that? And what did they mean by my designation is yet to be determined, what even is a designation?'

I had a million and one questions running through my head, all of them demanding to be answered.

I started squirming in the cyclopses hold, suddenly being uncomfortable with being held so high from the ground by someone who I was 99 percent sure was a mad scientist. The giant noticed my discomfort and placed me back on the table I had been laying on, but when I didn't stop squirming he became concerned… I think.

The dragon, who had been sitting idly by, seemed to notice my distress as well, and did something unexpected.

It picked me up by the scruff of my neck, and brought me down to the floor. It then made a little cradle around me with its front legs, keeping me close to its chest as it started making a noise that sounded like purring.

I felt my rising panic slowly ebb away as the dragon continued to hold me close and comfort me, its eyes meeting mine again as it gave me that same look from earlier… as if it were seeing something more.
