Good morning, everyone, I'm once again coming here to ask you all a question regarding a possible tournament in the future. This time, it's a question regarding time of the tournament.
Would you all be more willing to participate and watch the tournament if it was happening at the same time as Vytal Festival? Or, would you rather the tournament happen earlier as its own separate event?

I personally would love for the tournament to be its own separate event as well. The Vytal Festival is such a big event that most people probably have plans for it already, I certainly do.

It was surprisingly easy to adjust to life at Beacon Academy.
The rooms they were given were big and comfortable to live in. Their first couple of lessons hadn't been overly challenging or tiring. They were even allowed to traverse through the school almost completely unhindered.
In all honesty, Weiss considered living here to be far more comfortable than being home.
She might be a special case, though.
After all, she did manage to pass the initiation with both her friends as teammates, as well as a remarkably pleasant person to be around as a fourth member of her team. It was the best case scenario for her.
There was no doubt in her mind that she wouldn't have been enjoying her situation quite so much if she had been forced onto a team that could barely hold itself together.
In the end, the main reason she could be so pleased with the school was mostly just luck—as well as quite significant effort in bending the rules on her part, but that's beside the point.
A wide smile formed on Weiss's face as she walked through the cafeteria to get her food.
It was the first free day they had since the school started, and they hadn't yet made plans for the day. Her entire team were with her, and, right now, they were simply busy getting breakfast.
No matter what they ended up doing for the rest of the day, they weren't going to do it hungry.
They were going to need the energy for all the different activities that could await them!
There was no telling what they could end up doing in the end.
Although she already suspected that her friends and she were probably going to end up spending the day playing video games together. It was their first real chance to play since the school started, to be fair.
They had to find time to spend on playing at some point, right?
The Winning Team wasn't going to keep its title by doing nothing.
A silent chuckle escaped her.
She still couldn't believe that her team managed to keep its name despite changing its context entirely.
It was almost like they were destined to have that name.
"Do you have some interesting plans for today, Weiss?" Pyrrha asked. "You look quite happy, especially when compared to how you looked two days ago. Did something happen recently to change your mood?"
Weiss shook her head with a smile.
"I don't have any plans yet. I'm just excited for the free day ahead of us."
Pyrrha nodded.
"We will probably look for some internet cafés today." Jaune chipped in suddenly. "There's no computers here at Beacon, so it looks like we will have to head to Vale whenever we want to play something."
Ilia grunted in agreement.
"I hope we will find a decent one. There's no way I'm wasting money on a subpar gaming experience." The faunus girl said.
Pyrrha turned towards the two of them with a questioning look.
"I didn't know you guys played video games."
The three friends smiled.
"That's actually how we met in the first place." Weiss said; this topic was quite significant to her, so she was passionate about it. "If it weren't for our shared interest in video games, at some point in our lives we probably would have never met each other."
Pyrrha looked at them with curiosity in her eyes; it was clear that she was interested in their past.
Weiss smiled.
If there was one thing that she could consider to be the highlight of her childhood, it was without a doubt the two times she met her friends through gaming. There was hardly a thing she felt more proud of.
She was more than willing to share all of that with their last teammate if the girl wanted to know.
A loud growl suddenly resounded from next to them.
"It's great to know that at least one team appears to get along in this school."
The four of them turned to the sudden arrival.
It was Yang Xiaolong, Ruby's older sister.
"Is your team really that bad?" Jaune asked.
Yang groaned.
"It's worse."
They could only watch with wry smiles on their faces as the blonde practically slammed her tray of food on the table as she sat down to eat. The anger behind that action was so palpable that all students who were also sitting at the table quickly stood up and left the moment Yang sat down.
The girl quickly turned towards them.
"Are you four going to eat with me, or what?" Yang asked.
The four of them looked at each other for a moment before, with a couple of shrugs, deciding that they might as well eat their breakfast with the angry girl.
It wasn't like the blonde was angry at them, after all.
"Are you sure you aren't just exaggerating how bad your team is?" Ilia asked with a sigh as she sat down. "Sure, they certainly seem annoying from afar, but they can't be all bad, right?"
Yang snorted.
"I wish they were only that bad from afar." The blonde said. "Trust me, they are even worse in person. All of them are either racists, perverts, or bullies, and I'm not joking about that. I swear if I wasn't stronger than them and their leader, they would have probably been bullying some random people in the school already. It's like they think they're the only ones in this school with basic huntsmen training."
Weiss couldn't help but wince as she heard that.
Yeah, she was really lucky she had managed to form a team with both her friends. She had absolutely no idea how she would have managed if she were the leader of Yang's team instead.
She would have ended up insane.
"That sounds terrible." Pyrrha said. "Is there any way we can help you deal with all of that? You are a kind person, Yang; I don't want you to struggle like that."
Yang looked at their fourth teammate with a small smile on her face, her anger starting to slowly diminish.
"I don't think there's anything you can do to help me with this, Pyrrha." The blonde said with a grimace. "I already tried asking the headmaster for help with this, and he told me I had to do it on my own. To be fair, I am the leader of this team, so it is my responsibility to handle them."
Pyrrha winced.
"Are you sure?" The red-haired girl asked.
Yang sighed.
"Yeah." The blonde girl said, before shaking her head. "Let's just change the topic, okay? I've overheard that you four were going to look for internet cafés in Vale, right? I know of a couple of places where you can comfortably play some video games around here. I can show them to you if you want. We could waste an entire day like that if you're willing to take my offer."
Team WJNI looked at their leader.
Weiss shrugged.
If they were being offered a guide, there was no reason to decline. It's not like any of them had any idea where to look for things in the city of Vale. They had all the reasons to accept the help.
The less time they wasted looking for the cafe, the more time they would have for gaming in the end.
"Sure, it would be better than trying to find anything blind." She said, as she turned to look at the blonde brawler. "Do you play video games as well? It would be a bit unfair if you helped us and then only watched as we played."
It would also be quite awkward, if she were to be honest.
Throughout her entire gaming career, Weiss tended to hide the fact she was playing video games from most of the people at her mansion. It would feel quite unnatural to have someone actively watching her play without doing anything else.
Her instincts would probably scream at her to either hide her gameplay or invite the girl to play with her the entire time they were there.
She would rather not go through something like that while gaming.
"Don't worry; I do play some games." Yang said lightly. "It's mostly action games, but I don't mind wasting some hours on more strategy titles, as long as they are decently fast-paced, that is."
Ilia looked at the blonde curiously.
"Action games, huh?" The faunus girl asked. "I like to play them a lot as well; that's how I actually met Weiss for the first time. We encountered each other while playing GrimmBattle on the net."
Yang whistled slightly at the words.
"That's some old game you were playing." The blonde remarked before turning towards her fellow blond. "What about you, knight boy? Did you also meet the snow princess here by playing an old first-person shooter with her?"
Weiss couldn't help but grumble a little at being called a princess.
She was barely an heiress.
Jaune scratched the back of his head awkwardly.
"Not quite," The boy said. "I actually met her through Sci-War online matches. These types of games are far more up my alley—and it's technically the game the three of us played the most—though we quickly switched to using it mostly to play ATG."
Yang nodded her head slowly.
Pyrrha turned towards them curiously.
"Yeah, that mod was huge." Yang said, as she thought for a moment. "I've heard the devs released a full version recently. I didn't have the chance to try it yet, but from what I've heard from Ruby, it's even better than the original."
Weiss nodded her head in immense satisfaction at the blonde's words.
If there was ever proof that their game had been a huge success, then it was this very interaction. Their game wouldn't have been able to be brought up in a conversation like that if it wasn't popular.
They—together with Jaune's sisters and her brother—had managed to make a huge hit.
"We've got some experience playing it too." She said. "If you want, we can show you the ropes when it comes to ATG. I don't want to brag, but my friends and I are quite good at it."
Yang leaned back and thought about it for a moment.
"Eh, maybe later." The blonde said, in the end. "It's a four-people game anyway. I wouldn't want to force one of you to stand aside when I'm the outsider here. I can show you some games I've been playing, though."
Weiss tilted her head slightly.
Yang's words sparked her interest.
She did enjoy trying out new games, and having a recommendation from someone who seemingly played different types of games than her sounded quite grand.
"Sure, I wouldn't mind trying something new." She said.
Yang grinned widely.
"Great, we've got a plan for today, then." The blonde took a bite of her food. "Let's head down to Vale with the first Bullhead after breakfast, and I'll show you the path from there."
Weiss and the rest of her team nodded their heads and ate their breakfast.
They already had plans for today—a person to help them realise those plans—and all of them were excited for them. The weekend ahead of them was already looking great, and it had barely even started.
Their trip to Vale was going to be so fun.
(...)
The city of Vale, despite all of its riches and fame, didn't appear to differ that significantly from all the other capital cities of the world.
Sure, Vale's buildings were reasonably taller than the ones that could be found in Vacuo, and its districts weren't as segregated as the districts of the capitals of Atlas. The infrastructure appeared to be much better in Vale than in Mitral as well. However, when it came to the things you could find in this place, it really wasn't all that different than any other significant city in the world.
There were still as many run-down stores, homeless people on the streets, and awestruck fans in Vale as in any other place comparable to it.
Pyrrha really wasn't impressed by it.
The main reason she chose to study in a completely different kingdom was to escape her fame and hopefully experience how it felt to live a relatively normal life. She thought that doing that would have been enough to grant her desires.
Unfortunately, she couldn't have been more mistaken.
It didn't matter that she was a complete foreigner to this place and that none of the people here had ever seen her in person before. She was still being bothered by all the people to give them autographs and take photos with them.
Not even being accompanied by four of her friends helped with all the attention that was placed on her.
The fact that one of her friends was a celebrity in her own right didn't seem to be even worth mentioning for some reason.
It was almost like her fame was so immense that it eclipsed everything else to some people.
"Oh my Brothers, I can't believe I've managed to get an autograph from Pyrrha Nikos!" A random person shouted in excitement as they marvelled at the signed piece of merchandise in their hands, before leaving them alone.
Pyrrha put on a strained smile.
Why was it that she was the only one who had to deal with things like these?
Why didn't Weiss have to deal with this as much as she did?
She quickly shook her head.
No, she should not think like that.
They were already wasting too much time when people were only bothering to get the autographs from her alone. She didn't want to think how much time they would be wasting if both of them were busy signing things.
The fact that her friend wasn't bothered by fans as well was a good thing.
She simply wished it was the same case for her.
"You're too approachable." Weiss said.
Pyrrha turned towards her team leader in surprise.
Was she that obvious with her jealousy?
A sigh escaped the white-haired girl.
"Don't worry; you don't look that annoyed; your fans won't be able to notice a thing." The Schnee heiress calmly shook her head. "I was getting tired of all those fans of yours as well, so it was easy to notice."
Pyrrha put on an awkward smile as she looked at her friends.
"I'm sorry." She said abashedly. "I would have done something about it if I could, believe me. No matter what I try and how many people I help, however, my fans seem to find me for some reason. Am I really that approachable?"
Her friends looked at her with deadpan expressions on their faces.
"I-Is she serious?" Yang whispered.
Ilia grunted.
"It looks like it." The faunus girl sighed before shaking her head. "I guess there has to be a reason why Pyrrha's a bigger celebrity than Weiss, right? I suppose her politeness and weak will are reasons as good as any."
"Wha—?" Pyrrha asked dumbly.
W-Was she doing something wrong?
"Hey!" Weiss protested. "Are you implying that I'm not polite?"
Ilia smirked at their leader.
"Are you saying that you somehow are polite?" The girl asked with a wide grin on her face. "Despite being your friend for the majority of my life, I haven't seen you give a single autograph ever. You've never signed anything for me, either."
Weiss blushed.
"T-That's different!"
Ilia raised her eyebrow.
"How is it different?"
Weiss stamped her feet and pointed her finger at the faunus girl.
"It's because you're my friend." The heiress said. "You don't brag about your celebrity status to your friends. It's weird – the same way it would have been if I, for some reason, decided to give autographs to my own family."
Ilia hummed in response.
"I don't know." The girl drawled on. "An autograph from Weiss Schnee herself would have been worth quite a lot back in Atlas. It certainly would have been quite a boon after I sold it."
Weiss narrowed her eyes at Ilia for a moment before letting out a loud and exaggerated gasp.
"Are you implying that you would have sold a gift from me?" The Schnee heiress intoned dramatically. "You're breaking my heart here, Ilia. I thought we were friends, and yet you betrayed me!"
Ilia rolled her eyes.
Pyrrha looked at the two friends teasing each other.
"S-Should we interrupt them?" She asked.
Yang snorted.
"Nah, I want to see where this is going."
Jaune sighed.
"We should leave them to it; they can last for quite a while after they start talking like that." The boy said, before turning towards the red-haired champion. "They aren't treating this seriously, so you shouldn't worry too much about it."
Pyrrha nodded her head.
"Understood. I'm sorry for assuming the worst here."
"You don't have to apologise," Jaune said.
Pyrrha opened her mouth to apologise once more.
Yang grumbled.
"Seriously, stop apologising, champion girl." The blonde brawler said. "While being polite is great—trust me, it's incredible when compared to how my teammates act—you need to be able to stand up for yourself. If I acted like you, I would have already gone insane because of my team."
Pyrrha couldn't help but wince.
There was a part of her that wanted to protest. She wanted to defend the way her parents raised her. However, she couldn't argue that her attitude didn't always lead to the best outcomes for her.
She couldn't deny that her politeness had flaws.
There was a reason why she didn't have any friends prior to arriving at Beacon.
Yang shook her head while looking at her.
"Anyway, we can help you deal with that passivity of yours later." The blonde said as they turned around the corner. "Right now, though, we should busy ourselves with something else because we're finally here!"
The building in front of them looked far from impressive.
It was a huge block of steel and concrete, like any other building in central Vale, with its only unique characteristic being that it was somewhat smaller than most buildings around it.
If it wasn't for a single sign that advertised the internet cafe plastered on the thing, Pyrrha would have sincerely doubted they would have actually been able to find what they were looking for here.
In fact, she actually felt a little doubtful about this location despite that sign.
Surely, this couldn't be the greatest internet café a local of the city recommended to them, right?
"Is that it?" Ilia asked.
Pyrrha let out a sigh of relief.
Good, she wasn't the only one who felt underwhelmed.
"Hey, I know it doesn't look particularly unique, but trust me, it's the best internet café you can find in this city." Yang defended the place. "I've spent more than dozens of hours playing here while skipping boring lessons at Signal Academy."
Weiss turned towards the blonde brawler with an unimpressed look on her face.
"Should you really be bragging about skipping class a mere week after Beacon Academy has started?"
Yang dismissed the question with a wave of her hand.
"It's fine." The blonde said. "I still graduated from signal, didn't I? Besides, I only skipped the useless lessons like history or chemistry; you know, the things that won't be really necessary for us once we become proper Huntresses."
Weiss shook her head with a sigh.
"If you say so, Yang." The heiress said.
Yang grinned.
Pyrrha smiled lightly.
"Alright, let's go in!" The blonde said.
With somewhat reserved steps and the blonde brawler leading them, all five of them entered the building.
The internet café wasn't actually on the first floor, and they still had to go down the stairs to the basement in order to reach their goal.
Once they did go down the stairs and opened the doors to the actual café, however, the place immediately began to look far more impressive.
The entire floor was dedicated to the cafe, dozens of gaming computers were set up, and small crowds of people were busy playing video games on them. It was clearly a popular location.
"Whoa." Ilia reacted. "It's way bigger than the internet café back home."
Yang smirked.
"I told you it's the best." The blonde said, as she moved forward. "Come on; we still have to buy ourselves some hours of playtime here, don't we? Don't worry; it's not too expensive."
Pyrrha slowly nodded her head before following the blonde girl.
As she walked through the cafe and watched so many people play in big groups around singular computers, she couldn't help but contemplate.
Should she pay for everyone here?
They hadn't discussed their payments along the way, and she didn't want to assume that everyone would pay for themselves. Two of her teammates weren't exactly that well off, all things considered.
She wouldn't mind paying for them, at least.
Sure, nobody expected her to pay for everyone else, but it really wouldn't have been a big deal for her either.
It would have been barely noticeable on her finances, after all.
Although she didn't tend to show it, she was quite rich. In fact, she was pretty sure that when it came to money, the only person in their entire year that was richer than her was her team leader.
It was the type of money she could spend.
The only reason she was hesitating was because the Schnee heiress would undoubtedly be able to pay for everything without an issue, as well. On top of that, the elegant girl would undoubtedly pay for her two friends without a question.
They were extremely close-knit with each other.
She didn't want to butt in on that.
Furthermore, she didn't want to imply that some of her friends were poor by offering to use her own money too carelessly.
It would have been rude.
While she wished to get along with her new friends as much as she could, she really didn't want to intrude on the already established relationships because of that.
As she was hesitating whether to offer her friends to pay for everything today or not, she noticed Ilia walking up to the registry, talking with the cashier there, pulling out some card, swiping it, and coming back to them.
"Alright, we've got the next five hours paid for." Ilia said as she walked back to them. "I paid for all of us already, but the next time around, one of your four better be the one who's paying. I'm not going to pay for everyone all the time."
Pyrrha blinked in confusion.
The rest of her friends merely nodded their heads as if it was natural.
"What?" She asked.
Ilia turned towards her, the expression on her face almost as confused as her own.
"Is there a problem, Pyrrha?" The faunus girl asked. "Will you have a problem with paying for the gaming sessions in the future? Are you having financial issues? I'm pretty sure we can help you with them, if you want."
Pyrrha quickly shook her head.
"No, I don't have any issue with that!" She assured. "I-I'm just—wasn't that expensive? You've just booked five hours for five people in a place that certainly doesn't look cheap from what I can tell. Can you afford to pay for all of us?"
Ilia dismissed her worries with a wave of her hand.
"Don't worry about it. Since we met once more at Beacon, I've actually begun to get paid by Jaune's sisters for my testing work." The girl said lightly. "Sure, it might not be as much money as Weiss has from her family, but it's still more than enough for things like these."
Pyrrha looked at the faunus girl stupefied.
"Wha-?"
There were so many things she wanted to ask the girl.
What was her teammate talking about?
Why was she being paid by the sisters of her other teammate?
What didn't she know?!
Jaune shook his head.
"I'll explain it later." The boy said.
Pyrrha opened her mouth.
Only a sigh escaped her.
Whatever; she would simply have to get the answers from them some other time. Surely, no matter what the source of that mysterious money was, it couldn't have been anything too significant.
They would have told her already if it was.
With the payment settled, they moved towards the separate room in which six expensive gaming computers waited for them. There were more computers than they needed, but apparently it was easier to simply give them a room than struggle with finding five different computers in the common hall.
Apparently, Ilia—the friend whom Pyrrha was pretty sure wasn't that well off—had somehow managed to book them a private room as well.
She really needed to learn more about her friends, didn't she?
"We're here!" Weiss exclaimed as they entered the room. "Now, Yang, show us those action games you think would be fun to play. I can't wait to try something new. They can be played with five people, right?"
Yang smiled.
"You bet, snow princess." The blonde brawler said confidently as she sat down in front of one of the computers. "The game's most likely already installed, but you'll need the game store account to play online. You all have them, right?"
The four of them nodded their heads.
A game store account was one of the most essential things a person needed to have if they wanted to play video games more extensively. It was actually rare to find a person with that hobby that didn't have such an account.
Pyrrha personally had to set up such an account when she first began playing Arena of the Great back when it was still a mod.
She assumed it was probably a similar situation for all three of her friends as well.
"That's great." Yang said. "Now, open the Tremor, and I'll show you a game mode that's even better than that ATG game everyone's playing nowadays. Trust me, you'll be floored by it."
Weiss snorted.
"We'll see."
Yang looked at the Schnee heiress confidently.
"Oh, we will, snow princess." The blonde narrowed her eyes challengingly. "Trust me."
As the blonde brawler issued a silent challenge to her team leader, Pyrrha couldn't help but raise her eyebrow a little at the game they were supposed to be playing.
"Isn't Tremor an incredibly old game as well, Yang?" She asked. "I thought you wanted to show us something new when you told us about the games you were playing. This game is practically a history by now."
She wasn't joking about that.
The game they were about to play, Tremor, was essentially the first fully three-dimensional first-person shooter that was ever created. If gaming history was a subject taught in school, there certainly would have been an entire lesson about this game alone.
Still, there were a lot of new things that could happen to old games; ATG was an example of that, after all.
"Don't worry; I'll be showing you something new." Yang assured. "We just need to use this game for it first."
Weiss hummed, undoubtedly curious about the game.
If she were to be honest, Pyrrha was quite curious as well.
What were they about to play right now?
Her pondering was cut short, as all of them had opened the game and began to slowly join the same lobby.
At first nothing was out of the ordinary, as the only other person she noticed in the lobby was Yang, whose nickname was apparently MissBlondeKickAss03. It wasn't a nickname she recognised, but she had never really played action games all that much before, so she wasn't too surprised. Whenever she wanted to feel some adrenaline, she usually tended to simply spar or train instead.
The moment the rest of her team began to join, however, the situation changed completely.
SnowReh01.
Arch06Knight1.
MineChammy09.
Pyrrha looked at her team with widened eyes.
"Oh hey, you're HappyNEWby!" Weiss remarked as if her identity was the big deal here. "I always wondered who you were. It's nice to know that even your gaming persona is a celebrity of sorts. I hope we will work well together in the future."
It took all her might for Pyrrha not to scream at her leader in indignation.
She was the celebrity here?!
Did Weiss not know her own fame when it came to this game?!
No wonder her leader offered to teach Yang some basics when it came to ATG; they were the best team there was in that game!
Pyrrha paused for a moment.
Wait, didn't that mean that she was technically a part of the Winning Team as well?
A smile formed on her face.
They have to join the ATG tournament that's being talked about in the forums in the future.
She could already picture their competition.
That event was going to be incredible.
And cut!
Pyrrha learns that her team is actually quite a big deal, and is already anticipating the tournament talked about in the forums. Yes, the forum sections actually happen in the story, though their timelines are a bit loose, and they don't actually match the dates with the actual events in chapters.
I probably won't be able to write a chapter the next week, because there's quite a lot to do that week at my university, so there will be a week—possibly two but unlikely—of break after this chapter.
Anyways, that's it for now.
See ya!
