A/N 1: In response to some of the comments: 'Hell-no' I like that. I may still use that. Any dreams if they happen will also be well identified and never say never to past characters showing up. I make no promises either way though - it all depends on where the muse leads and finally the subject of the gender for Jamko's kid(s). I've been noodling on that and I've been trying to figure out which way the writers of the actual show would go. Sadly I think we can rule out twins because by providing a due date and Jamie's use of "...when THE baby is born..." it seems the show was leaning towards a single baby. Now would it be another boy to again, solidity the 'passing down' of the Reagan name or would it be a girl to help balance out the grandchildren? That I don't know and maybe the show didn't know either which is another reason they kept procrastinating in putting off the baby storyline. Anyway my point is, what I want to know from the readers here is what you think the ACTUAL SHOW WRITERS would have decided. I know we all have our personal preferences but what do we think the people behind the show itself would do... let me know - and yes, I know, it might seem like a fools request but I'm asking anyway... in the end I might end up flipping a coin "Heads I win, tails you loose." such a great Jamie line LOL.

A/N 2: These next 2 chapters are much more Jamko centric. I came up with this idea but then thought of 2 possible endings and I couldn't figure out which way I wanted to go so I figured why not write both and let you the readers decide which one you like better – think of it like a choose your own adventure - so here's how this is will work – part 1 consists of "The premise" which is how the story starts but then there will 2 separate headers called 'Choose Your Own Ending - Option A' and 'Choose Your Own Ending - Option B.' Option A is included in this chapter and Option B will be posted tomorrow. You as the readers have until Friday when I post the next chapter to respond in the comments and tell me which ending you prefer – most votes wins and that ending will then be the one that become 'cannon' to this story. Here we go...

Chapter 10: The Premise

Once again Eddie sits at her desk answering calls "No Ma'am it is NOT an emergency that you ran out of sugar for your cookies – yes I understand they are Valentine's cookies and tomorrow is Valentine's Day but that's an emergency for you, not the police and if you call 911 with something like this again I will send a car down and have you fined for inappropriate use of emergency services got it? Now just order it online and pay extra for same day delivery." She suggests "Great." She begrudgingly accepts a second later as out of the corner of her eye she sees someone slide into the chair by her desk "Bye." She adds as she hangs up and looks over "Joe!" She greets in complete surprise to see her nephew sitting there grinning back at her.

"Hi." Joe overly sweetly greets.

Eddie glances out over her shoulder and out into the hall "Um I don't know if Jamie is in." She states assuming that's who he is here to see.

"Actually I'm here to see you." Joe corrects.

Eddie looks back at her nephew more than a little confused "Me?" she questions.

Joe nods in confirmation.

"Why?" She can't help but seriously wonder.

Grinning, Joe reaches into his jacket pocket to pull out and dangle a simple, but pretty gold, open heart shaped necklace offering it out to Eddie "To return this."

Eddie blankly looks at the necklace then up at Joe "That's not mine."

Not expecting that answer, at first a look of confusion appears on Joe's face but the next second his eyes widen a bit and he quickly pulls the necklace back to stuff it in his pocket and cover "Oh my bad. Never mind."

"Why would you think that's mine?" Eddie queries confused.

"No reason." Joe tries to dismissively shrug off but Eddie narrows her eyes and studies him "Where did you get it?" she asks a moment later.

"Doesn't matter." Joe dismisses.

"Well I think it does." Eddie insists as she takes a moment to think "Wait… did you find that in The Chevelle?" She questions "That's the only place I can think of that you would have access to that would have you assuming it's mine."

"Ummmm…" Joe awkwardly hesitates.

"So that's a yes." Eddie deduces before taking a deep breath and dawning a bit of an unhappy look and tone in her voice "Well it's not mine and clearly you don't know where it came from so I suggest…" She growls as she starts to get more unhappy by the second "…you go ask your Uncle and then let me know what he says..." She demands more then requests "…because depending on the answer, I may or not be speaking to him."

Joe uneasily gulps wondering what can of unholy worms he just unintentionally opened…

….

Choose Your Own Ending – Option A

A disgruntled Joe walks up to Jamie in his office and tosses the necklace on the desk in front of him "Look familiar?" he harshly queries.

A bit startled, Jamie looks down at the necklace then up at his nephew "No." He simply replies "Should it?"

"I found it in The Chevelle." Joe a bit standoffishly states.

"O…kay…" Jamie slowly states as he tries to figure out why his nephew is telling him this.

"I thought it was Eddie's…" Joe explains "…so I just tried to return it to her but she said it wasn't hers."

Jamie again looks down at the necklace "Yeah I've never seen her wear this." He confirms like its nothing so he simply picks up the necklace and sets it aside on his desk so he can go back to work.

Watching his Uncle, Joe see absolutely no indication that what he is saying isn't the truth "Okay I'm confused then." Joe admits "If it's not Eddie's, not some girlfriend of mine – or yours…" he suggestively insinuates.

Immediately, Jamie's eyes snap up to look at his nephew "That's not funny." He very seriously states at his nephew's accusation but Joe continues on with "…then who's is it?"

Suddenly Jamie's eyes go wide with a horrified thought "Wait, does Eddie think?..."

Joe cringes a bit "Maybe." He reluctantly admits.

"Ugh!" Jamie unhappily groans out as he stands "Excuse me." He grumbles as he makes a beeline out of his office heading straight for the patrol bullpen "Officer Janko." He greets the second he enters "Could you follow me back to my office please? Seems we have a little bit of a mystery to solve involving a certain necklace that was just brought to both of our attentions."

While noting his clear desire to confront this issue head on, Eddie eyes her husband "Okay." She finally accepts a moment later as she stands.

"Thank you." Jamie accepts so the couple head down the hall and both Jamie and Eddie reenter his office with Joe still there.

Jamie looks at his wife but points at the necklace on his desk "Just so we are clear, that is not my necklace."

Eddie rolls her eyes "Obviously."

"What I mean…" Jamie seriously continues "…is I have no idea who's it is or how it would have gotten in The Chevelle. I swear!"

Again, Eddie eyes her husband and a small smile cracks her face at his extremely serious expression and sincere, genuine tone of his voice "Oh I know." Eddie simply dismisses a moment later with a wave of her hand "Not your style."

Jamie visibly relaxes that she knows that.

"But you are right about one thing." Eddie continues as she reaches over to pick up the necklace "It is a bit of mystery as to where it came from." She admits before looking at Joe "And you're sure this would not have belonged to a hot date of yours and you just didn't notice? I mean no offense here, but you are a guy." She points out.

Jamie nods his head in complete agreement with his wife "She's right."

Joe frowns as he looks at his Aunt and Uncle both looking expectantly back at him "Yeah pretty sure." Joe confirms "And I know this because none of my dates have been in that car since I've had it."

Feeling a bit protective over the car, Eddie's face scrunches up in displeasure "Why not? Is she not good enough for you to be seen driving?"

But as Jamie eyes his nephew, he deduces the real reason "No." Jamie rejects with a slight knowing laugh "None of them have been good enough for her." He corrects in emphasize.

Eddie looks between the men to see Joe snap his fingers and point at Jamie in agreement of his statement.

"She is special." Eddie admittedly agrees.

Jamie and Joe both nod.

"Okay but that doesn't help us." Eddie decides as she turns her attention to the necklace turning it over and over in her hands "Wait there is something engraved on it."

"There is?" Joe states in surprise "Gotta admit, I didn't look that closely at it."

"I think it says… oh geez this is really small." Eddie admits "Might need a magnify glass."

"Okay, give it to me." Joe suggests "I have better eyesight."

Eddie snaps her head up to look at her nephew unimpressed.

"What?" Joe defends "I'm younger. Statistically that means I have better sight."

"Wow." Jamie mutters in disbelief at the balls his nephew just had to say that out loud.

For a moment Eddie glares at Joe very unimpressed before turning to her husband "No wonder he's still single."

"Hey!" Joe protests at her jab.

"She's got a point." Jamie easily admits.

"Could we focus here?" Joe prompts.

"Well we're waiting for you Mr. 20/20 vision." Eddie snarks as she flips the necklace out towards him and Jamie snickers at her remark.

"Boy you two make quite the pair." Joe tosses back as he swipes the necklace up and begins to look at it.

"We've been told." Jamie and Eddie reply in unison causing Joe to glance up at them "Cuz that's not at all freaky what you just did."

Jamie and Eddie both shrug.

"Not helping." Joe adds before looking back at the necklace and squinting hard trying to read it "I think it's the initials A.S."

Jamie's face scrunches up "A.S. Who is A.S? I don't know any A.S.s that would have been in The Chevelle. Eddie?"

Eddie thinks hard but can't come up with anyone either "No."

Joe sighs "And the mystery continues…"

….

It bugged everyone for the rest of the day – who could A.S. be? And it wasn't until Eddie and Jamie arrived home and Eddie moves to head to her bedroom that she catches sight of the door to the second bedroom and it suddenly hit her "JAMIE!" She excitedly exclaims as she does a 180 and heads right back to the main apartment area "I know who A.S. is!"

Immediately Jamie looks up "Who?"

"Amelia!" Eddie exclaims "Amelia Santos!"

"Oh geez." Jamie realizes wondering why they didn't think of that sooner "Right."

"I'll call her." Eddie eagerly decides as she pulls out her cellphone - happy for any excuse to call and touch base with the young girl.

…..

Jamie and Eddie are seated in a booth at a diner waiting – Jamie close to the window and Eddie at the aisle.

The door to the diner opens and Eddie's face lights up the second she sees Amelia and her grandmother enter "Hi!" She enthusiastically calls as she rises up from her seat and waves them over.

Acknowledging Eddie's call, the pair head over.

"Look at you!" Eddie happily greets as she pulls Amelia in for quick hug then pulls back to look the young girl over "Did you grow? You seem taller to me."

Amelia and her grandmother both nod.

"A whole inch." The grandmother confirms.

"I could tell." Eddie notes "Soon you are going to be taller than me!"

"Well that's not hard to do." Jamie can't help but point out as he inserts himself into the conversation "Most people are taller than you."

Eddie looks at her husband "Well you don't seem to have a problem with it!" She points out.

Jamie shrugs "I don't." he confirms "Just saying."

Eddie slightly rolls her eyes before turning her attention back to their guests "Oh don't listen to him." She dismisses before gesturing at the seats "Sit!" She then pleasantly instructs as she turns her attention back to their guests "How's school? Are you settling in okay?" She asks as everyone takes their seats – the grandmother across from Jamie and Amelia across from Eddie.

"I am." Amelia confirms.

"Great." Eddie accepts "That's great." She just repeats as she smiles at the girl and Amelia smiles back.

Jamie looks between his wife and Amelia and while he is happy they clearly have a bond, he leans slightly towards his wife feeling he needs to help move this along or they'd be sitting there all day with the two of them just smiling at one another "The necklace." He quietly prompts his wife.

"Oh right!" Eddie enthusiastically remembers as she reaches to pull it out of her pocket and dangles it to display "I believe I have something of yours."

Amelia's eyes go wide in shocked recognition the second she sees it "My necklace!"

"Oh my goodness." The grandmother breathes out stunned as she watches her granddaughter reach for it.

"I thought I lost this!" Amelia states in disbelief "Where did you find it?"

"In our old car." Eddie replies.

"Wow." Amelia emotionally breathes out as she looks down at it, gently fingering it.

Watching Amelia, Eddie can tell by the way she is handling it, it must have significant meaning to her "That necklace means a lot to you, doesn't it?" Eddie softly prompts.

Amelia nods and as she glances up, Eddie can see tears in her eyes "My mom gave this too me."

Immediately those words tug at Eddie's heart strings so while smiling and trying to keep her own emotions in check, Eddie reaches over to soothingly rub the young girl's arm in comfort "Well I'm glad we could return it to you then."

"Thank you." Amelia again very appreciatively replies.

Looking around the table, Jamie sees all three women about to burst out into tears so in an attempt to avoid that at all costs he clears this throat "Alright who's ready to order?" he pipes up "I hear the burgers are delicious."

"Oh yes." Eddie breathes out as she briefly glances at her husband, thankful for his interruption before she turned into a big ball of blubbering goo "They are sooo good!" she confirms before looking back at Amelia and her grandmother "And their ice cream – irresistible!" She deliciously declares causing Jamie to nod in agreement and hook his thumb in his wife's direction "Yeah she'll eat a whole banana split herself just like that." He declares with a snap of her fingers.

"HEY!" Eddie protests "I'm eating for two!"

"Except…" Jamie points out "…you could do that before you were pregnant."

"Wait you're pregnant?" Amelia's grandmother questions in surprise.

"Oh, yeah right." Eddie notes with a smile "You didn't know." She realizes "Yes. I am pregnant."

Amelia smiles a wide smile at hearing the news "Cool. You're going to make a great mom!"

Up until this point, Eddie had managed to keep the majority of her emotions in check but the young girl's confidence in her future abilities as a mother meant the world to Eddie and she feels her eyes begin to really water.

"Oh stop!" Eddie lightly chides in an attempt to cover while trying to inconspicuously dab at the corners of her eyes but as Jamie glances over, he can see how much Amelia's compliment means to his wife and he smiles.
