PART THREE:

GOING HOME

PROLOGUE III

"Welcome to the world."

I shot my eyes open. Someone was talking.

There, in front of me, I could see two creatures. One of them held a strange object I could not fully describe, but had a screen that let off a warm glow. They both looked at me in shock.

I reached my paw out to touch them, but an invisible wall blocked me from doing so. It was then I realized I was in a glass tube.

"Can you understand me?" one of the creatures asked.

I nodded yes.

"My name is Fuji," the same creature said.

Fuji was purple and grey with a large, singular horn on his head. He also had a ridge of spines down his back that led to a large tail. He looked to be quite old and had kind eyes.

"This is my colleague, Holly," he said, pointing at the creature next to him.

She didn't talk. She just stood there, typing notes into the object she held with her long claws. Her back was covered in sharp, brown quills and she had a light yellow underside with a white underbelly.

"We created you," Fuji continued. "You are Mewtwo, a being of pure power. A great one, at that."

I stared at the two of them. What did he mean by created?

"May I talk to you for a second?" Holly asked Fuji.

"Of course," Fuji replied, walking a short distance away.

I couldn't make out all they said, but what I got was enough.

"…Not powerful enough… Need to try again…"

"…Terminate him…"

I heard all I needed to hear.

Using powers I didn't know I had, I broke the glass around me, forcing it to shatter into millions of pieces.

The two creatures looked back in horror at me.

They should be scared of me.

They should fear me.

This was the start of my journey, and the end of anyone's who would stand before me.
