"I love how we all have a subtle nod to our houses." Ginny said. Her dress was also black but wasn't quite floor-length. It was also long-sleeved but covered her shoulders. The top half was dusted with red glitter that got heavier on the wrists of the sleeves. Hermione's dress was floor-length and sleeveless. It was a red to black gradient satin. Hermione pinned her hair up in a loose bun while Ginny had hers fully down. They headed towards the entrance of the Great Hall where they were to meet the guys.

"Everyone is starting to arrive." Harry and Ron joined them. "Draco is on his way."

"I think he went to check on Scorpius or something." Ron added. Both were wearing long black robes with black ties. Harry had on a dark red shirt while Ron's shirt was black.

"I was also trying to avoid Pansy." Draco said as he came up behind them. "You look stunning." He kissed Amethyst on the cheek. He was also wearing a long, black robe. His shirt was an emerald green and he was wearing a grey tie. He took her hand in his and the six headed into the Great Hall. They stayed along the walls and kept an eye on the students. Draco and Amethyst were well aware that they were being watched themselves.

"I'll be right back. I need to use the restroom." Amethyst whispered to Draco. He nodded and walked with her.

"I'll meet you right here, I might as well go too." Draco squeezed her hand. The moment Amethyst entered the restroom, she was hit with a spell.

"Let's go!" Two men grabbed Amethyst and pulled her towards an empty classroom. "Karkaroff, stand watch." Kyle pushed her through the door and shut it. He locked the door and turned to face her.

"What do you want?" She hissed. He forced her against the wall and pressed against her. As she struggled, she felt the right sleeve of her dress rip. "Get off!" She still tried to push him off, but it was no use.

-meanwhile-

"Draco!" Dimitri came running up to him.

"What's wrong?" Panic set in when Draco saw the look on his face.

"Kyle's… Amethyst… come on." Dimitri panted, trying to catch his breath. He pulled Draco's arm and the two took off for the classroom. Orion went to alert Harry.

-back in the classroom-

"No one will hear you. No one will come." Kyle growled. His face inched closer to hers. She still struggled against his grip so he tightened his hold. He pressed even harder against her. She would be his.

"Get off!" She yelled again. She felt his chest under her palm and silently case the stupify spell. She didn't expect it to work; she wasn't sure silent, wandless magic would work for her. She felt his body fly away from her and hit the opposite wall. Just then, Draco and Dimitri came rushing through the now broken door.

"Amethyst!" Draco rushed over to her. As soon as his arm wrapped around her waist, she collapsed into his arms. "Are you alright? What happened?"

"The moment I walked into the restroom, I was hit with a spell. Pansy. I think. When I came to, I was being forced in here by Kyle. He told Dimitri to guard the door." She looked at Dimitri standing near the door.

"As soon as he closed the door, I came to get you." Dimitri said looking at Draco. "Pansy swears that Draco is under some love spell or potion. Kyle is obsessed with Amethyst."

"He was forcing himself on me. I tried pushing him off, but he was too strong. I used the stupify spell. I really didn't expect it to work." She shook her head. Draco wrapped his robe across her shoulders and pulled her into his side.

"I don't think I've ever heard of anyone using silent, wandless magic before. Not with enough force to knock someone across the room like what would happen with a wand." Draco looked at Kyle who was still crumpled on the floor.

"…" Amethyst took a shaky breath. It took everything in Draco not to kill Kyle Roberts. If it weren't for the woman in his arms, there's no telling what he would do. Dimitri was standing near Kyle with his want pointed at him. They heard footsteps growing louder.

"What…?" Pansy and Goyle ran into the room and stopped dead in their tracks at what they saw. Goyle pointed his wand at Dimitri but before he could do anything, he was thrown back into the hallway.

"…" Draco looked at Amethyst, eyes wide.

"No one threatens my brother." Amethyst's gaze was locked on Pansy now. Her hand was stretched out with her palm facing the woman but she was still leaning into Draco for support. He tightened his hold on her. Pansy pointed her wand at Amethyst but she was sent backwards. Draco and Dimitri, both, had their wands pointed at Pansy.

"Hey!" Draco pulled Amethyst into him as he felt her collapse.

"Draco!" They could hear fast footsteps in the hall again. They grew louder and then Harry ran into the room. "Is everyone okay?" He noticed Draco's hold on Amethyst. He motioned to the Aurors with him to detain Pansy, Goyle, and Kyle. Then he turned his attention to Dimitri. "Can you tell us what happened?" Dimitri nodded and then walked over to Draco and Amethyst. The two men exchanged looks and then Dimitri kissed the top of Amethyst's head.

"Thank you, Dimitri." Draco said.

"She's my sister." He simply replied before following Harry into another room.

"Repairo." Draco whispered the charm as he pointed his wand at Amethyst's torn dress. "If only that worked on everything that was hurt or damaged…" He pulled Amethyst into a tight embrace as he fought with the emotions running through him. He still wanted to kill Kyle but knew he had to trust Harry and the Aurors to handle that. His dislike for Pansy and Goyle was now stronger than ever.

"Mmm…" Amethyst began to stir. "Drake…"

"I'm right here." He replied before pulling back slightly to look into her eyes. "Are you okay? You didn't get hurt anywhere? He didn't…?"

"I'm fine. Nothing happened." She smiled a little. "We should probably head back to the Feast." She said after a while even though the Feast was the last place she wanted to be.

"Right." Draco really didn't want to go back to the Feast either, but knew it would probably be for the best. He kissed Amethyst lightly on the lips and then they headed back to the Great Hall.

"Are you two alright?" Ginny and Hermione approached them as they entered the Hall. They had seen Orion alert Harry to something.

"Yes, we're fine." Amethyst answered. She squeezed Draco's hand. "Harry is questioning Dimitri." Thankfully Professor McGonagall joined them before anymore questions could be asked. She really didn't want to talk about it right now.

"There you two are. If you don't mine, I'd like to make the announcement tonight. There aren't classes Monday, and the Feast will last well into the late night hours, so I doubt many will be at breakfast." McGonagall wanted to make this announcement sooner rather than later to allow students and other professors adjust to the news.

"That would be good. Gives time for adjustments." Amethyst nodded. She was starting to feel the effects of earlier; her energy level was draining.

"Give me about thirty minutes." McGonagall squeezed her shoulder and then headed towards some of the other professors.

"Amethyst, are you alright?" Harry came up to them followed by Dimitri.

"For the most part." She reached her hand out to her brother. He pulled her into a hug. "Thank you, again."

"You are family." Dimitri replied and then kissed the top of her head. After releasing her, he turned to Draco. He stretched out his hand. "You are in good hands with him." Draco shook his hand.

"If you hadn't come to get me, there's no telling what would have happened." Draco said and pulled Amethyst back into him. His emotions were still all over the place.

"Are you jealous?" Dimitri smirked.

"No, but she is the only thing keeping me sane right now." Draco replied. He left it at that for the time being. Amethyst squeezed his hand; knowing what he wasn't saying.

"What's going to happen now?" Amethyst looked at Harry.

"We'll discuss it later." Harry knew that this was neither the time nor place to go into any details. He looked at Draco. "They're not on the grounds anymore."

"…" Draco nodded and then relaxed a little. He still felt the rage in him but it was diminishing now that he knew Kyle wasn't even in the vicinity. Amethyst squeezed his hand but he didn't respond. Dimitri noticed.

"May I?" He held his hand out to his sister and led her onto the dance floor. "He's processing. If it hadn't been for you, he would have killed Kyle. I noticed his demeanor the moment I mentioned what happened." Amethyst nodded and then rested her head on his shoulder and tried to relax, but it was a struggle.

"Das?" Scorpius tapped Draco's shoulder. "Dad, is everything alright? Who's that dancing with Professor Abbott?" Draco was still zoned out. "…" Scorpius sighed and walked away. Harry and Ginny watched the exchange.

"Draco, what's going on?" Harry walked over to him.

"I've never felt such rage before. Honestly, it was the first time I felt like I could actually kill someone. I didn't like it. If it hadn't been for Amethyst, I just might have…" He looked at Harry and then at Amethyst and Dimitri.

"In that circumstance, in that situation, those feelings are completely understandable… and probably completely normal." Harry replied. "Scorpius is concerned now." He nodded towards where Scorpius and Albus were standing. They were watching Dimitri and Amethyst as well. In fact, a lot of people were. Draco and Amethyst had been pretty obvious that they were together so it wasn't surprising that people were questioning what was happening now. "People are questioning things… questioning her."

"They don't exactly look like siblings, do they?" Draco noticed the questioning looks. He made his way over to Dimitri and Amethyst. Dimitri nodded and handed his sister over to Draco. "I'm sorry." He whispered in her ear.

"It's okay. You didn't act on it." Amethyst buried her face in his chest and held tight to him as they moved along the dance floor.

"I don't want to feel like that ever again…" He whispered in her ear again.

"Hopefully, you will never have reason to." She pulled away to look at him.

"If anyone comes after you like that again I will, so that won't happen again if I can help it." He kissed her forehead. The song faded and Professor McGonagall stood at the front of the room.

"If I could have everyone's attention for a moment." She paused to let the murmurs die down. "I have a few announcements. Starting next term, Professor Flitwick will be adding wandless magic to Charms." Amethyst exchanged a look with Hermione. "Also starting next term, Professor Abbott will be taking over as the Head of Hufflepuff." She waited for the excited murmurs to quiet down. "One more, rather big, bit of information for next term. The current Defence Against the Dark Arts professor is retiring at the end of this term. Mr. Draco Malfoy will be taking over the position, along with the Head of Slytherin." The room was silent. Harry looked at Draco and then at Hermione. Hermione nodded slightly. She had already known about this. She had agreed when McGonagall first brought up Draco as a possible replacement. "Please enjoy the rest of the Feast and Monday off of classes." The music and conversations started back up. Most conversations were now centered around Draco.

"You knew about it?" Harry asked Hermione as Draco and Amethyst joined them.

"Of course. McGonagall came to me before she approached Draco." Hermione smiled. "I think his experience will suit the position well. Now, I didn't expect the Head of Slytherin to be dating the Head of Hufflepuff."

"But what about this wandless magic thing?" Amethyst asked.

"Flitwick has been presenting it to the Ministry for a while now. I received word this afternoon that it was finally approved to begin next term." Hermione replied. "No one knows what happened tonight. We don't even know what happened… not in detail."

"We can discuss that later." Harry said before leading Ginny onto the dance floor. Ron led Hermione onto the dance floor while Draco and Amethyst stood with Neville and Hannah.

"Amethyst, who were you dancing with earlier?" Hannah asked.

"Dimitri Karkaroff." She didn't want to go into too much detail at that time.

"Karkaroff?" Neville caught the last name. Amethyst simply nodded. She was watching Draco out of the corner of her eye. He was still struggling. She squeezed his hand and then headed towards Professor McGonagall and Professor Flitwick. She said her peace with Draco earlier and would, now, give him some space.
