"Mewtwo?" The girl Neesha asked. I'd been a trainer for nearly 20 years and never heard of Mewtwo. "A Pokémon can't be a Pokémon Master! No Way!" said the boy with nearly all water Pokémon. I was about to say something but before I could, a new voice rang out. "Quiet human! From now on, I am the one who makes the rules," it said. I looked around for the source but stopped when I saw this Pokémon, this Mewtwo, staring at us. "Did... Did it just say something?" I asked confused. "How is it talking?" Neesha asked just as confused as I was. "It's psychic!" The young man with the Pidgeot said. "We'll show you! Let's go Gyarados!" The boy called out. "No! Stop!" I yelled at him, but it was too late. His Gyarados exploded out of the fountain and reared back on its tail. "Gyarados! Hyper Beam Attack!" The boy called out. All I could do was watch as his Gyarados mustered an incredible Hyper Beam and shot it towards Mewtwo. I was sure this attack would do some damage but to my shock, it engulfed him in its power and then was shot back at Gyarados with even more force. The boys Gyarados was flung back into the fountain where it curled up and intense pain. "Gyarados!" He yelled as ran to his injured Pokémon.
"Child's play" I heard Mewtwo say with its psychic power. "Your usefulness has ended" He then said to the woman at his side. With a swipe of his hand, she looked like she'd woken up from a dream and staggered slightly before falling to the floor. Luckily Brock was there to catch her. When she stirred awake, she had no idea what was going on. "Nurse Joy!" Brock said as he held her. "Where am I? And how in the world did I get here?" She asked, looking around. "You have been under my control," Mewtwo said calmly. "I transported you here from the Pokémon Center. Your knowledge of Pokémon physiology proved useful for my plan, and now I have cleansed your tiny human brain of memories of the last few weeks," He finished. "Joy! Are you alright!" I called out to her. She looked at me closely and finally remembered me. "Nikki? Yes, I'm alright. I'm just confused as to what's going on," She replied as she stood up with Brocks's help.
"Who are you!" Brock demanded. "I am the ruler of this new world... The Master of humans and Pokémon alike," Mewtwo replied. "Grr, you're just a bully!" Ash yelled. "Ha! You humans are a dangerous species. You brought me into this world with no purpose but to be your slave, but now I have my own purpose. My storm will create my own world by destroying yours!" Mewtwo spat. "We brought you..." I thought to myself quickly, and then it finally hit me. "The New Island Incident," I whispered softly to myself. At the mention of this, Mewtwo turned his head and saw him smile. "Yes. What you call The New Island Incident was my escape from the prison my creators built for me, and they paid for my freedom with their lives," He said. "And you're gonna destroy us all to save Pokémon?!" Misty asked appalled. "No, Your Pokémon will not be spared. They have disgraced themselves by serving humans. Those Pokémon are nothing but slaves," Mewtwo replied bitterly.
We all stood silent for a moment, each of us taken aback by Mewtwo's bold claims and plans for the future when a small squeaking voice called out to him. It was Ash's Pikachu fearlessly saying something passionate to him. When it finished, Mewtwo looked amused. "So you say I am wrong? That you are not this human's slave? You are his friend?" He replied most amused. His eyes began glowing the way only psychic Pokémons can. "You are as pathetic as the rest," He said as Pikachu began levitating and was thrown backward into Ash. "Pikachu!" Ash said, straining slightly. "Humans and Pokémon can never be friends," He said firmly. "You're wrong!" I called out to him. "Maybe the people who created you thought of Pokémon as their slaves, but real Pokémon trainers love their Pokémon and would never treat them like that!" I yelled. Unfortunately, my words only seemed to amuse him further. "You say you love your Pokémon? Then let's see them," He said as his eyes glowed again. A second later, all 6 of my Pokéballs opened simultaneously, and all my Pokémon stood before Mewtwo. "I see your Pokémon are much more experienced than the others, but they are still no match for me," Mewtwo said confidently.
All 6 of my Pokémon stood by me, ready for anything. I could tell they wanted to hand Mewtwo his ass, but I wasn't entirely sure if he was bluffing about his power or not. Any being with the ability to create a storm the likes of the one we'd been through had to have some serious raw power. As I stood by keeping them from doing anything rash, I heard the boy with the Pidgeot yell out to Mewtwo. "If you are a Pokémon there's no reason I can't capture you!" The boy with the Pidgeot yelled. "No, don't!" I tried to say, but I was too late. "Go Ryhorn!" He commanded. Immediately, his Ryhorn sprang into action and charged full force at Mewtwo. Were it any other Pokémon, I'm sure his Ryhorn would have been a formidable opponent, but unfortunately, it was as I feared. Mewtwo was on a whole new level. Without even flicking a finger, Mewtwo lifted Ryhorn in the air with its psychic powers and hurled it 37 feet backward. At once, its trainer rushed to its side and held it as best he could. "No! Ryhorn!" He said, cradling his Pokémon. "Fools! Your Pokémon attacks cannot weaken me! My power is too great! No trainer can conquer me!" Mewtwo said proudly. "Then you won't mind proving it in a real match!" Ash yelled. "Ash! No!" I said, but it was ignored. "Is that a challenge?" Mewtwo asked smugly. "You bet it is!" Ash replied firmly.
As Mewtwo's eyes glowed once more, two large doors behind him opened. We all stepped through them to see a large stadium, much like the ones at the Pokémon League. A large door at the other end of the stadium opened and out stepped a Charizard, Blastoise, and Venusaur as Mewtwo descended to his side of the arena. "Like most Pokémon Trainers, I too began with Charmander, Bulbasaur, and Squirtle, but for their evolved forms, I used their genetic material to clone even more powerful copies," Mewtwo said almost proudly. "Your fake Venusaur can't beat my real one. Right, Bruteroot?" The boy with the Pidgeot proclaimed. "We'll blow away that Blastoise won't we, Shellshocker?" Neesha said proudly. "It may not have a nickname but I do have... Charizard. I choose you!" Ash yelled as he released his still unreleased Pokémon. The Charizard wasn't out 5 seconds before it smirked at Mewtwo and blasted it with a flamethrower attack. The fire didn't even touch Mewtwo, however, and it simply glared at Ash. "Your Charizard is poorly trained," Mewtwo said unimpressed. "He's right, Ash! Recall your Charizard before it gets hurt!" I told him firmly. "But Nikki, what about his Charizard? Who's gonna battle him?" He asked pulling out Charizard's Pokéball and recalling it. "I will," I said firmly as I nodded at my own Charizard standing behind me. In a flash, the two Charizards stood eye to eye with one another, neither one willing to blink.
