"You," Emma pointed to herself at the restroom mirror, "Need to stop what you're doing. It's quite annoying." She hiccuped again. Annoyed that the hiccups won't go away and extremely inebriated, Emma rolled her eyes. She swayed, almost losing balance, but caught herself. She washed her hands and stumbled back to the bar. Killian waited for her and grabbed her jacket from the chair, "I'm taking you home, love," He said. Emma shook her head, "Home is where the heart is, and my heart is on 108 Mifflin Street," She slurred.
He showed her the message from Regina, "That may be, but I'm dropping you off at your house."
Emma's eyes scanned the messages in front of her. She felt her throat become acidic before she vomited all over Killians phone.
"Swan!" He cringed and almost threw up at the sight of her mess. Killian looked away and held his clean hand over his mouth. "Any chance you can help me?" He made eye contact with the bartender and slowly moved his vomit covered phone to him. "Thanks, mate," Killian nodded once the guy slid a few sheets of tissue under the phone. Killian dropped the phone onto it. He grabbed Emma's hand with his clean one and led her back to the restroom.
He barged into the male restroom and opened the tap with full force. "It stinks in here," Emma shook her head.
"Right now, that's the least of our concerns. Rinse out your mouth," he said as he ran his hands under the running water.
Emma shook her head again, "There's no way I'm gonna do that in here," She hiccuped again. "Well, at least get the vomit off of you," he pointed to her stands of hair and her shirt.
Emma huffed, "I'm going to the ladies before -" hiccup "- before I throw up in here."
She turned to the door, but before she could grip the handle, someone flung it open from the other side, hitting her square in the nose.
"Fuck," she cussed out. Feeling the blood pouring out her nose, she wiped her hands on her shirt. Killian groaned, now frustrated with the mess that the night has become. He followed her, "Swan, wait."
Regina entered the bar. As much as she wanted to stay away from the blonde, she couldn't. The mayor scanned the room, the music was blaring and she saw a few people grinding against each other, not bothered by the cringed onlookers. She finally saw the barman, who has his one hand covering his mouth and the other barely wiping down the object the infront of him.
"Have you seen Miss. Swan?" She asked. Once closer, Regina noticed that he was cleaning a vomit drenched phone. "Yeah, this is hers," he nodded towards the phone and threw away the tissue. Taking another tissue, he continued wiping. "That's not what I've asked, imbecile," Regina eyed the phone, that was not Emma's, anyway.
"Swan, wait," she heard Killians voice. Regina dashed towards them, seeing Emma tilting her head up and walking towards the ladies restroom. Killian followed closely behind Emma.
"What did I tell you about leaving Miss Swan alone?" Regina cut between Killian and Emma. Killian stopped chasing after Emma and eyed the queen. "It's not what it looks like," he held his hook and good hand up. "Why is it that whenever you're around, Swans nose gets the bitter end of it?" Regina raised an eyebrow. "I'll deal with you later, Pirate." She held up her hand to let him know that it was not up for debate. Regina did a half circle on her heel and entered the restroom.
Regina spotted the blonde and moved closer to her, supporting her tilted head.
"What are you doing here?" Emma asked, she steadied her head and looked directly into the Mayor's brown orbs.
"What am I doing here?" Regina asked, rhetorically. "You should be glad I am. Now, get up," Regina tapped the space between two sinks and Emma hopped on. She was drunk and reeked of vomit, but the queen didn't mind.
Regina get between Emma's legs and tilted the blondes head up, taking a look at the damage. "Wanna tell me what happened?" She asked while attending to the blood.
Emma shook her head, "I'm mad at you. Why are you here?"
"God, I don't know what you see in this place," Regina ignored Emma and decided to get the blonde put of her wrecked clothing. As she started unbuttoning her blouse, Emma stopped her. She placed her hand over Regina's nimble fingers, "Sex is not the answer," she gave her a goofy, dimpled smile.
"Sex? Honey, we haven't had our 3rd date yet," Regina chuckled, "Your clothes are covered with your lunch," she explained. Once she managed to get the blouse off, Regina twirled her fingers, covering the blonde with purple smoke and then a new, cleaner shirt.
"Yet?" Emma's eyes lit up.
"It's a conversation for tomorrow between sober Emma and I," Regina got out of the space between the blondes legs and stood to the side of her, leaning against the sink, "Did Killian do this to you?" She asked, softly.
Emma shook her head, "No. I threw up on him."
Regina gave her an amused smile, "Normal people would settle for a straight cut divorce."
"And then some guy hit the door in my face," Emma gestured to her nose, Regina's comment going over her head.
Regina folded her arms across her chest and nodded slowly, "Well, you can get your stuff. We're leaving."
Emma and Regina walked out of the restroom towards Killian, "I texted you," he said when he saw Regina grab Emma's jacket. "Next time, make sure she doesn't drink this much," Regina warned him. He gave her a nod and continued his conversation with the bartender, thanking him for cleaning his phone.
"Emma, no," Regina scrunched her nose when she noticed Emma get away from her and down a tall glass of beer. Emma held her finger up and then took another shot. "Okay, now we can go."
Regina opened the passenger side of her car for Emma and gently guided her in. "Are you taking me home?" Emma asked.
"Yes, dear. You've had too much to drink," Regina buckled the blonde in and closed the door. She returned to the drivers side and started the engine.
"Who's gonna feed my puppies?" Emma asked, she started to slur again. Regina shifted into gear, "Emma, darling, you don't have puppies," Regina simply stated.
Emma pouted, "In that case, I want puppies." She leaned her head against the dashboard in front of her. Regina stretched out her hand and pulled the blonde back, "If you so much as throw up in my car, God help -" before she could finish, Emma cut her off. "Yeah yeah, I won't throw up in your precious car, Madam Mayor," she rolled her eyes.
"Why did you pick me up, Regina?" Emma became serious. Regina turned into Emma's street, "Because you're inebriated, Miss Swan. I will not be pleased if anything were to happen to you, given your condition."
"But you told Killian-"
"I know what I told him. I'm here, aren't I?" Regina countered. Emma nodded but her words disagreed, "Out of pity or guilt?"
It was evident that the woman had liquid courage to back her up. "Emma, I would prefer having this conversation when we're both in the right frame of mind," Regina said, calmly extinguishing the fire.
Once at Emma's house, Regina helped the blonde change into something comfortable to sleep in and left a bottle of water - with an aspirin - on Emma's bedside table. When she moved away, Emma grabbed her hand, "Stay," Emma whispered out. She still felt the alcoholic buzz and that meant it resurfaced her feelings for Regina. Regina's eyes began to tear, seeing the savior in the state she was in and she knew she was to blame. If she hadn't broken up with Emma, they wouldn't be here.
But, here they were.
Drunk Emma, sober Regina.
Emotional former Queen, vulnerable Savior.
Here they were.
Heartbroken lovers refusing to set their ego aside and accept things for what they are.
Regina wiped the tears from her flushed cheeks and knelt down to Emma. She studied the woman.
Her hair was a mess, barely in the hair band she had on. The mascara she wore was visibly smudged below her eye. Her breathing had been slowing down as she rested.
Emma opened her eyes, feeling Regina's energy around her. "I have to go," Regina said, barely audible enough for Emma to even think about raising her voice higher than the tone. She reached out to caress Emma for the last time, settling the blondes stray strands with the palm of her hand. "You're gonna be okay, Emma." She said. Emma moved her hand up from under the covers and gently gripped onto Regina's, pulling it away from her head and closer to her lips. She kissed her palm, "Okay."
Leaving the blonde, Regina finally got to her mansion. She slipped into her bed, glad that she had peace of mind knowing that Emma was safe.
Yet, the brunette still couldn't sleep the full night. She dozed off and woke up at 3am. She decided to go out for a jog.
After getting dressed, Regina got to the kitchen for a bottle of water. When she opened the fridge, she noticed the blondes beers. She felt a shiver down her spine, contemplating drinking it because she was not about to call up the blonde to pick it up nor was she planning on wasting alcohol.
The hiss of the carbonated beer can opening was the only sound heard at that hour. It was quiet. She thought about the Town of Storybrooke and scoffed. All its residents are sound asleep but it was her, (with a case of beers she never thought would pique her interest) that was awake.
She took a sip and let her thoughts wander.
This is disgusting. What does Emma like about it? Far from wine, I can confirm that much.
But before she knew it, Regina had drank at least six of them.
She found herself in the family room, TV muted and remote in hand. She couldn't decide what to watch but knew that whatever she chose wouldn't be of importance, she wasn't paying attention anyway. In her buzz, she gave up searching and retired to her bedroom.
Regina could feel the warmth of the alcohol, as opposed to the cold sheets. She got under the covers - for the fourth time, and grabbed her phone. Regina felt emotional. It was completely unorthodox for her. She's never allowed herself to feel love for someone since Daniel and this is painfully familiar. She absent-mindedly scrolled through her gallery, looking at pictures of herself and Emma. Regina smiled through her tears.
She found a picture of Emma. The blonde was seated in a booth at Granny's. She had her curly hair draped over her right shoulder, her left hand attempted to block the camera - but you could see she was a tad bit too late. Her right hand held the pendant of her necklace. Regina remembered the day like it had just happened a minute ago.
Regina pulled up outside Granny's, she strutted to the door and saw that her entrance caught the blondes attention. She slid into the booth, "Did you order for me?" she asked.
Emma rolled her eyes playfully, "Hello, Miss Swan, how was your day? Oh really? Well, my day was great thanks for asking," She folded her arms and sat back, fake pouting at Regina.
"I'm sorry. Hello, dear. How was your day?" Regina asked.
"Since you asked because I told you to ask - I don't think you want to know so I'm not telling you," Emma grinned. After a stern look from the Mayor, Emma got to it, "I've ordered you a kale salad. My day was boring. As usual," She shrugged, "How about yours?"
Regina fished into her handbag and pulled out a small gift box, "It started off great. I've managed to get some paperwork done," she handed the box to Emma, "This is for you."
Emma gave her a questioning look. "Me? What for?" She took the box and opened it.
"Happy One Month-iversary," Regina gave her a sly smile.
"Woah, it's been that long already? I didn't get you anything. Didn't know we should be giving each other gifts for every month, shouldn't it be an annual thing?"
Regina was in awe of the woman in front of her. She loved when Emma would ramble on - it gave her an opportunity to hear the saviors sweet voice. "Traditionally, yes. It's meant to be annual. But I figured that with everything going on, we can celebrate the small milestones. And you didn't need to get me anything, having you in my life is more than anything I could ask for."
Emma pulled out the silver necklace. A small diamond pendant hung on the base. Regina stood and took the necklace from her. Emma pulled her hair aside and allowed Regina to clip on the necklace. She turned around and pecked Regina, "I love it babe. Thank you."
Regina took her seat again and when Emma wasn't looking, she pulled put her phone to snap a picture. Emma saw the flash and attempted to block the lens. "Too late, sweetcheeks," Regina grinned happily. She leaned forward and kissed Emma on her nose.
They resigned to the mansion, deciding on making dinner together. "Do you really need this many kinds of cheese?" She pulled out at least four types from the grocery bag. "It's good to have options, Henry loves them," Regina responded. She started making a mild basting.
Emma turned on the grill and grabbed an apron. She watched as Regina came over to her, "Let me?" Regina offered, holding out her hand for the apron. Emma handed her the apron.
Regina snaked her hands around Emma's waist, grabbing the other end of the apron. She then pulled the apron towards herself to tie it securely at the back, pulling Emma into herself in the process.
Emma could feel the older woman's breasts pressing against her back, she stiffened but soon relaxed when she felt Regina's breath in her ear, "Tight enough?" Regina purred. Emma swallowed and nodded.
"Hmm, perfect," Regina whispered. She looped her fingers through the loop of Emma's jeans and grazed her earlobe with her teeth.
Emma leaned her had back on Regina's neck, she felt herself blush, "Careful there, Madam Mayor, tease too much and we'll end up naked in your kitchen."
"Would that be a bad thing?" Regina pulled away slightly. She was hesitant, they did decide on taking things slowly, but Emma always made her feel like going a step further.
"Not exactly," Emma turned off the gas to the grill and twirled around, into Regina's touch. The brunettes natural scent always turned Emma on - but she wasn't sure if Regina felt comfortable with doing more than making out. Both women sucked at communication.
Regina grazed Emma's ass, giving it a soft squeeze, "I know we agreed on waiting to have sex but, you look delicious." Regina pecked Emma's lips and pulled away from the blonde. Emma pouted, "Maybe we shouldn't wait. What better time than our first month celebration?"
After a moment of thought, Regina pressed her body against Emmas again, capturing the womens lips between hers,"Take this upstairs?" She held out her hand for Emma. Emma let out a breathy moan and nodded.
"Hey moms," Henry greeted. He smiled widely, seeing his mother's in an embrace, "Watcha cooking?" His eyes moved from them to the rest of the kitchen.

Regina let out a breath and cried until she fell asleep again.
