Day.5 Instructions:
"Do it slowly, feeling each other's warmth."
"This can't be happening..." said Maki standing on the edge of her bed.
Both she and Yuta were in shock.
"Even I can't believe it... and we're not even halfway through the school year... to start school exchanges" Yuta said and barely spoke. He was also sitting next to her.
After receiving that shocking news from Satoru, Maki and Yuta had gone to Maki's room.
They were processing the news that Okkotsu was going abroad for a while. It had really caught them off guard.
"What does that blindfolded idiot think he is?" said Maki very annoyed, "How can he just send you to Africa like that? That is so something! Agh!" she growled and stood up. She started walking back and forth.
"Well, from what sensei explained, it's because he wants me to go find something in that country" Yuta commented, waving his hands a little.
"And why doesn't he go himself?" commented Maki annoyed, not stopping himself from going from one side to the other.
"That's because he has a lot of work to do here in Japan, and besides," Yuta ran his hand over the back of his neck, "With the fact that I recently regained my title as a "special grade student" well... it makes sense that he would send me on his behalf... besides, I don't dislike the idea"
"What are you saying?" Maki stopped dead in her tracks at such words.
"I'm just saying that I don't dislike the idea of leaving the country. Besides, I feel that Gojo sensei is doing it with good intentions..."
"Don't be defending him!"
"I'm not defending you Maki san, but I simply feel that this is a big step for me... a very good one actually."
"What are you trying to say?" she questioned, crossing her arms over her chest, "Are you saying you want to go to Africa?"
"Well... " Yuta let the air out suddenly, "Yes, I see it as a great opportunity for me"
"So you plan to abandon us? You plan to leave me alone with those two idiots?" asked Maki with offense when talking about Toge and Panda.
That attitude surprised Yuta.
"Of course I'm not going to abandon them!" he answered seriously, "But I feel that this mission was given to me for a reason! I just see it as an opportunity to learn more and prove to myself that I can do something important even outside the country, this experience could help me to grow even as a sorcerer " he answered pointing to himself.
Yuta continued speaking "Besides, a year ago, you were already living together with Panda and Inumaki before I entered this academy, so in theory you wouldn't be alone... I don't understand why that would bother you if they are our Friends"
"What about me? What about this?" asked Maki with indignation in her throat and pointing to herself.
"I don't understand what you are trying to say..." commented Yuta with confusion.
"I'm talking about us!" said Maki, raising her voice and waving her hands from one side to the other, "I'm talking about what will happen with what we started... with this five"day thing..."
Yuta stared at her.
"Is that all you care about?" he asked firmly.
"And you don't?" she said, taking a few steps towards him, standing face to face, "Don't you want to do it with me? Then what was that stupid confession of yours in the morning?"
"You know I do want to do it with you! " said Yuta firmly "And that confession was sincere and came from the bottom of my heart... but I think it is not reciprocated in the best way and hands now that I'll be leaving in a few days..."
It made Maki's blood boil. She had to finish what they had started. She felt desperate and began to act without thinking.
"Ok… let's finish this" Maki grabbed the edge of her own T-shirt and quickly removed it and her bra, dropping them on the floor.
"What are you doing Maki san?" asked Yuta all red and surprised as he watched Maki undress in front of him. She took off almost all her clothes, except for her panties. And thus half naked she began to approach him, climbing without warning to Yuta's hips.
"I'm finishing what I started. So let's get it over with... let's have sex... let's do it so you can go easy" said Maki firmly, holding Yuta's face and starting to kiss him desperately.
"Maki wait!" whispered Yuta against her lips, it was so sudden that he didn't know how to act.
Maki's hands traveled quickly to Yuta's shirt, she seemed desperate to take it off, as if she wanted to get it over with already despite not feeling ready let alone knowing what they were doing.
"Maki, stop..." whispered Yuta once again, trying to prevent her from taking off that garment, but it was useless, Maki stripped him of that shirt while she filled his lips and neck with kisses.
For a moment, Yuta lost control of himself, he was being carried away by lust. Still in that position of her on top of him and against his hips, Yuta caressed Maki's half"naked body, ran his hands down her back and pulled her closer to him. His mouth even went to her breasts and neck, starting to suck and kiss them.
"Yuta" A moan came from the throat of that Maki.
"Maki..." Yuta whispered against her neck.
But his reasonable side began to calm him down and bring him back to earth. It was wrong at that moment. He didn't feel ready and even less so when what he had practiced the previous four days was going down the drain with this desperation to do it in a hurry.
"Yuta please... do it to me at once and let's get this over with" Maki moaned against his mouth, as she moved suggestively against his clothed hips. She looked desperate.
Yuta in one swift movement, laid Maki against the mattress to separate her from him. He had never applied that kind of force against her before.
That surprised Maki, her erratic breathing started to calm down once she saw the seriousness with which Yuta was looking at her as he climbed on top of her. Maki's face turned all red. A shiver even ran through her spine, but it wasn't one of desire. It was one of fear.
The boy positioned himself still semi dressed on top of her, with his arms on either side of Maki's head, as he gently dropped his weight on her, settling between her legs, while staring into her eyes.
Maki let out all the air at once, seeing him above her had taken her breath away. And what came next would almost make her heart stop. But at the same time, it would break it into pieces.
Yuta brought his lips close to his companion's, kissing them several times in a tender way. Then he began to move down her neck, until he reached the center of her breasts.
Maki's legs trembled. She thought maybe they were already going to move on to the next thing, to take that big step even though she didn't know if she was ready for it to enter her.
But Yuta stopped both the kissing and the caressing.
"I'm sorry Maki san..." he said in a very serious tone, as he leaned back on his arms to stare at her, "But I can't do this..." he began to pull away from her.
"What?" came with difficulty from Maki's throat, "W-why not? Don't you really want to do it with me?"
Yuta took a big breath before speaking"Of course I want to do it with you, but not like this..." he said on his knees.
"What do you mean?" asked Maki with confusion as she sat down in the middle of the mattress.
"I don't want to do it in this rushed and forced way... it feels so fast that I'm not enjoying it..." Yuta moved closer to the edge of the bed.
Maki clenched her fists at such words. She knew she had gotten carried away in the worst way.
"Tell me Maki san, what was the point of doing it slowly the previous days and getting closer and getting to know each other in every aspect to end up doing it this way... So... hurried?" asked Yuta standing up, "I really don't want to do it this way..."
"So you don't want to be with me, is that it?" asked Maki indignantly as she sat on the edge of her bed.
"As I said, I do want to be with you, but not like this," Yuta picked up his T"shirt from the floor and started to put it on.
"I don't understand..." said Maki confused and staring at him.
"Maki san, I want to be with you, yes!" said Yuta firmly, "But I also want to feel that you want to be with me..." he confessed.
"But I want to do it. Shouldn't that be enough?" Maki sounded indignant.
"At this moment I don't mean to do it or not... but unfortunately," he sighed dejectedly, "I fell in love with you and doing it in such a hurry is affecting me"
"But I thought you had said that if I only saw you as a simple friend with rights, you would understand and that if I only wanted to continue with this without being anything more formal, you would do it without problems..." said Maki remembering what he had said before.
"I know I said it, but now I feel I was wrong... I can't go on with this... not like this..." Yuta confessed looking her in the eyes.
That hit Maki very hard in the heart, so hard was that blow of reality that it even made her clench her lips and teeth.
"And as I told you in my confession a while ago, you don't have to answer me ... although I feel that I already know what your answer to all this is" said Yuta with discouragement.
"But Yuta... I..." The words could not come out completely from Maki's throat.
"I'm sorry Maki san but I can't do it with you right now, sorry but I don't feel well and I have thousands of things to do before I go to Africa..." he said taking the knob and quickly leaving the room without saying anything else.
All this left Maki with a lump in her throat. She felt terrible because in her desperation to finish that stupid challenge, she screwed up and ruined everything.
"Yuta..." she said before biting her tongue.
Maki dropped onto her back and pulled her sheet over her head, still half"naked, feeling her tears running down her cheeks.
"I also fell in love with you, idiot..." she confessed, hugging her knees in tears under that blanket, "But I don't want to take you away from me..." she sobbed, "I'm an idiot for not saying so...".
Her morning had been really hectic in an up and down of emotions that now only made her sink under those sheets. And even more so now that the one she loved would be sent away from her.
But her pride seemed uncooperative.
02:50 p.m.
That Saturday felt too strange. It seemed as if all the happiness of the previous days had vanished in the blink of an eye.
The afternoon came and Maki still quite down. She even fell asleep in her room after crying for a while after that agitated and almost forced encounter between her and Yuta.
"Did I look too intense?" she wondered as she got up from her bed and picked up her clothes from the floor, "Maybe I shouldn't have rushed things..." she thought to herself.
And more than Yuta's words were right, that was supposed to be "slow" for a reason it was called "slow sex".
"I'll be an idiot..." she said to herself as she dressed.
She combed her hair and then picked up her cell phone. She noticed it was close to three o'clock in the afternoon. She sighed. She had to get out of there before she went crazy. Maybe some food could help her think more clearly.
Maki left her room and headed straight for the kitchen.
Once she arrived at the dining hall, she met her two other classmates, for whom, Maki felt bad that she had offended them in her moment of madness and passing lust. And more that they were her first company once she entered the academy.
So she approached those two, who were eating and incidentally, were making a lot of noise.
"Maki, where were you?" asked Panda curiously.
"In my room, I was asleep. Why?" she answered, trying to sound disinterested and somewhat defensive, as she sat down next to the two of them. More specifically next to Inumaki.
"We thought you had left with Yuta for the city to buy some things he will need for his trip"
"mmmm" the girl just made that noise.
"You know that, don't you?" asked the animal, wiggling its ears.
"Know what? " asked Maki very defensively.
"That Yuta is going to Africa! Can you believe it?" said his furry friend, very surprised.
"Salmon" Inumaki waved both hands.
"I already knew it... "Maki grunted" the blindfolded idiot told Yuta and me at breakfast time" she said very annoyed "So you already know it too? "she asked leaning her elbows on the table and her face on her hands.
"Yes, they just told us a while ago," answered Panda waving his paws, "It was really surprising news, but at the same time we are happy for Yuta."
"Tuna!" Inumaki nodded his head.
Maki sighed and looked away: "Yes, I guess he deserves it..."
"Salmon?!" Toge asked as he offered a snack to his companion.
Those two on the table had several dishes with various types of sushi, rice balls and other traditional food.
"Why do you two have so much food on the table? Did you go shopping?" asked Maki as she noticed all the food on the table.
"These dishes were brought by Gojo sensei," Panda commented while biting into a sushi, "Let's just say he wanted to soften the news that Yuta will be leaving the country with some food"
Maki sighed "So that idiot is going to leave, huh?" she took with her fingers, a sushi that she knew had the same name as her " Yuta definitely left us aside..." her tone of voice was of total sadness while she ate it.
"Tuna Mayo..." Toge sighed and lowered his chopsticks, as well as lowered his shoulders in a gesture of sadness.
"Yes..." Panda also sighed, "It seems that my premonition came true. Yuta is going to leave our side.
"Shake!" Toge waved his hands, exemplifying a leap with his fingers, he looked down.
"You're right, he already took a giant step as a special grade sorcerer, so now we are the ones who are left behind," Panda swallowed another sushi, "I just hope that being abroad he won't forget us. Or at least he won't replace us with other people"
Hearing those words made her heart ache even more, especially when she started to question some things like: What if he met someone else abroad? What if he ended up forgetting her? What if Yuta fell in love with another girl while outside Japan?
Those questions hurt her enough, that even her tears began to gather in her eyes.
"Maki, are you all right?" asked Panda when she saw that his partner was very quiet.
"Mustard Leaf?"
Maki blinked several times to clear her tears and simply played hard to get.
"I am, if that idiot wants to leave, let him go!" she shouted annoyed, grabbed some chopsticks and took another roll of sushi, which she quickly put in her mouth. But the bad taste in her mouth that she had before such a situation, did not let her enjoy that delicious food" We don't need it..." she said with her mouth full.
Her companions looked at each other as they noticed Maki's sadness and bad mood. They knew that she was the most affected by this news, they could see it in her gestures.
After a few minutes of eating in silence, Toge and Panda seemed to have shared the same thought. One that they felt was a good idea so that the goodbye wouldn't hurt so much.
"So what if..." Panda started talking once he finished eating a rice ball.
"Salmon?
"Huh?" Maki looked up at her companions.
"What if we throw Yuta a farewell party!" Panda commented with a big smile.
"Tuna! Tuna!" Toge raised his thumb in approval.
"What?!" came out of Maki's mouth in surprise.
"I said we should throw Yuta a farewell party!" the animal commented cheerfully, "so we can give him a proper send"off and wish him good luck on his trip to Africa!"
"Kombu!" Inumaki shook his head in agreement with his animal friend.
Maki on the other hand, made a huge grimace of disapproval with her lips.
"Raise your hand or paw, all those in favor of the party," said the animal raising its paw, at the same time that Toge raised his right hand.
"Well, Inumaki is voting for us to do it," Panda looked at his partner, "What do you say, Maki? Shall we have a farewell party for Yuta? We can even invite Fushiguro and the teachers to give a good farewell to Yuta"
Maki ate more sushi "Do what you want, pair of idiots" she said with her mouth full to pretend she wasn't interested in that.
But inside, she was dying and just wanted to scream.
"Juju, good, it's decided! Tomorrow we will have a farewell party for Yuta!" commented Panda with a huge smile, "I will tell Masamichi about our idea so that they can provide us with the necessary things, I don't think he will say no to this. Besides, we could invite Kusakabe too. Especially since there are so few of us in the academy at the momento"
"Tuna Mayo!" Toge also seemed very excited about it all.
On the other hand, Maki was not at all happy about it, but she was not left to grudgingly accept the idea of a farewell party.
10:20 p.m.
The afternoon flew by, and so did the impending night. A night that seemed to be quite sad.
Maki was already lying on her bed, with her blankets covering her almost completely, only her face showing slightly.
She was lying on her right side, watching a police movie on her cell phone, but from time to time, her gaze strayed to the door, perhaps it was the faint hope that kept her awake and made her imagine that Yuta would come to her room as he had done days before. But it seemed that would never happen. So her eyes were closing from exhaustion and so many tears shed.
10:58 p.m.
It was already close to 11 p.m. when Maki's eyes shot open with a start as she heard footsteps near her door. She heard the wood outside creaking, and for a moment it seemed as if someone was standing outside her room. She could see a shadow through the tiny space under the door.
"Yuta?" whispered Maki, hope in her throat.
She felt like her heart would jump out of her chest due to the habit of seeing Yuta standing there outside her door.
Had he gone? Was it him?
Maki noticed how this shadow stayed out there for a few seconds, but immediately went to the right with accelerated steps.
She quickly got up from her bed and almost ran to her door.
"Yuta, is that you?" she opened the door with a bang, hoping to catch a glimpse of her companion, but once she peeked out, she noticed that there was no one outside her room.
Maki felt her heart break even more. Especially when she saw that the corridor was completely empty and she could no longer hear those accelerated footsteps.
"Maybe it was my imagination... or maybe I'm just going crazy..." she said quietly to herself.
She sighed and so with a broken heart she entered her room once again, closing the door behind her.
She leaned her back against the door, sat down on the floor and simply burst into tears.
"I ruined it... I am a fool, I have ruined all this and now he is going to leave my side... "she said as she hugged her knees and cried bitterly "Yuta... I love you..."
Such was the sadness she felt, that with the little strength she had left, she got up and walked to her bed, lay down and covered herself up to her head. She simply tried to sleep even though she was heartbroken.
Unfortunately, she did not know at what time she fell asleep from crying so much.
Sunday.
Maki had slept most of the morning and part of the afternoon. Even that day she did not exercise because she was so discouraged. She was so depressed that she could not stand up.
She really didn't want to get out of bed, but she had to, especially when her other two companions went to her room to get her out, since they wanted her to help organize the room where the farewell party would take place.
She even ate little but in a hurry, since her companions wanted to take advantage of the fact that Yuta was not at the academy to finish preparing the surprise , since her partner had gone out with Satoru to arrange the last details before leaving the next day.
05:45 p.m.
"Well, Yuta will be back soon, so we must hurry to finish fixing this room," said Panda very excited.
"Shake!" Inumaki waved his hands gleefully, pointing at the snacks on a table.
"You're right! Good thing the food is ready for when he arrives"
"Tuna?"
"Yes, I say we've got enough balloons adorning the place"
These two seemed very excited, and even more so when they saw how the room they were decorating was turning out.
On the blackboard was written in large letters "Bon voyage Yuta", as well as several drawings of the four of them in their chibi versions, as well as small good luck messages.
There were several colorful chains hanging all over the place. As well as there were many balloons all over the place, as well as there were some colorful strips hanging from the ceiling.
Just like those two had gotten lots of delicious snacks, desserts and sodas to share. They really wanted to make this farewell special.
"Thank you very much Fushiguro kun for helping us decorate" replied Panda eating a small snack before continuing, "Without your help it would have taken much longer"
"Tuna Mayo!" Toge clapped the jet-haired man on the shoulder.
"That's right, you were a great help"
Megumi sighed. He was not yet so used to living with his senpai, even so he gladly accepted the task "No problem, I just did it for Okkotsu senpai"
"Juju! I hope his like this farewell party, don't you, Maki?" asked the furry animal, turning to look at his companion, who was sitting at one of the desks, finishing tying a colorful chain that had yet to be hung.
She was in total silence, admiring the decorations, but with a sad heart. Simply remembering the words Yuta had said to her before leaving her room the day before.
"Maybe I was the one who made the mistake? Maybe I should have just kept my mouth shut and I should have never proposed that five"day thing... now he must hate me for sure " she said to herself mentally.
Her mind was filled with thousands of thoughts that ate her up quickly.
"Idiot..." she whispered to herself. Those words were definitely meant more for her than for Okkotsu.
"Maki, are you all right?" asked Panda, standing in front of her.
"Huh? " those words from her furry companion brought Maki out of her destructive thoughts, "What's wrong?" she looked at him seriously.
"I asked if you were all right?" said the animal again.
"Tuna?" Toge also approached her.
Maki shrugged her shoulders, "I am, why?" she asked annoyed.
"No, not at all, you just seem very distracted since yesterday," said Panda, wiggling his ears, "And we thought that something is happening to you... or maybe something is bothering you..."
"Kombu"
Maki let out the air with annoyance "I said I'm fine, I'm just bored by all this cheesiness" she said standing up, showing that chain she had already finished putting together, which she left on the desk "In fact, my bad mood is because I'm really hungry and if that idiot doesn't arrive soon, I'm going to finish all his food" she said going to the snack table.
The three present there simply looked at her with confusion.
Her classmates noticed that Maki was sadder than usual since yesterday. They even saw how she simply went straight to her room after deciding what they would do that farewell party. They knew that she was the most affected by Yuta's sudden decision to leave the country. Still they wanted to help her, as they knew she acted that way because of the pain she did not express in front of them.
The three boys there wanted to tell her that everything would be all right and that she should tell Yuta how she felt about him. But at the same time, they didn't want to take a hit from her, so they decided to give her space.
"By the way, have you seen Okkotsu senpai? I haven't seen him all morning," asked Megumi to his two senpais.
"After breakfast he went with Satoru to finish the last details before their trip tomorrow," Panda commented, "Above all, I think they went to the airport to send their bags at once, as well as to get more things for the trip"
"I see, so it's been a hectic two days for Okkotsu senpai" commented Megumi.
"And it has been" said Panda, wiggling his ears, "Still, he spent some time with the two of us yesterday"
"Kombu" Toge said, nodding his head.
"Okkotsu senpai was with you two yesterday? " Megumi asked cocking his head slightly.
"Last night he was with Toge and me" Panda continued, "We talked until late and by the way, we were playing with a new video game that Toge got recently."
"Tuna Mayo!" commented Inumaki, waving his hands in high spirits.
"It's true, hehe we played until late and Toge beat us in almost every game. And after that, around eleven o'clock at night he went to his room" explained Panda, "The poor guy also looked very down. Maybe it was due to the vaccinations they gave him for his trip and the tiredness of preparing everything in only two days"
Those words surprised Maki, who was listening very closely. At the beginning she had turned her back to them to eat, but even so, she was listening to everything those three were talking about.
The poor girl felt her heart stop a little when she heard all that.
So had Yuta gone to her room last night? Was the shadow she saw outside her door his?
Maki sighed and put down her plate abruptly and started to leave the room. She needed to get some air, everything was suffocating her.
"Maki, where are you going?" asked his furry companion as he noticed her leaving.
"I'll be right back, I'm going to the bathroom," she said without looking at them and raising her hand, "even if that idiot arrives, start the party without me," she left.
"Poor Maki... I think she is the most affected with Yuta leaving the country for a while? " said Panda lowering his ears.
"Tuna Mayo" Toge patted his animal friend.
"We're still sad to see Yuta go, but we think she's hurting more," Panda said with a sigh.
"Kombu"
Panda waved his arms, "Well, we'd better finish decorating, I don't think Yuta will be long before he arrives"
Megumi just watched her familiar walk out of there. He knew that Maki was in pretty bad shape, even so, he decided that he was going to intervene.
Maki once left the cubicle, washed her hands and looked at herself in the mirror, her eyes really looked droopy that afternoon even behind her glasses, which she took off for a moment.
She washed her hands once more and then splashed water on her face. She wanted to get rid of all those tears that kept running down her cheeks.
"I must put on my best face and show that idiot that I'm fine and that I don't mind him leaving" she said to herself looking at herself in the mirror.
But it was no use. The poor was still crying.
"Stop crying, you idiot!" she said to herself again. She really wanted to burst into tears, but she had to be strong.
Maki spent a few more minutes in the bathroom, again splashing water on her face and the back of her neck to calm down. She even took a deep breath. She decided to put on her best face. She even thought about acting like her twin Mai would. Selfless and proud, maintaining her bearing as the Zenin she was supposed to be. She even thought of an excuse in case she came back and the party had already started.
After a few more minutes, Maki came out.
Once she returned to the hall, Maki was surprised to find that the farewell party had not yet begun, since Yuta had not yet arrived.
Instead, her two grade mates were having fun, as Panda was carrying Toge so that Toge could hang that missing colorful chain near the blackboard.
While those two were having fun, Megumi approached Maki for a little chat.
"Are you all right?"
Maki shrugged her shoulders as she went back to grabbing some snacks "Why the sudden question?"
"Because you clearly look kind of sad Is it because Okkotsu senpai is leaving the country?" asked Megumi serenely, while also taking a snack.
Maki let the air out suddenly.
"Whatever that idiot does, I don't give a shit!" she said annoyed, "He's going to leave and he's going to abandon us here!" she complained, "You can tell he doesn't care about us..."
"You're wrong" Megumi said quickly.
"Huh?"
"I'm just saying that Okkotsu senpai really hurts to be separated from you. I could tell yesterday when Gojo Sensei was talking to him about the mission he will have in Africa. He seemed sad to leave you guys..."
"Really?" asked Maki, raising an eyebrow, "I don't believe you!"
Megumi nodded his head.
"It is. Okkotsu senpai really looked sad..."
"If that were so, it is obvious that he would not leave the country!" claimed Maki annoyed, putting some food in her mouth.
But the next thing Megumi would say, would leave Maki surprised.
"Maki san, I think you should tell Okkotsu senpai how you feel..."
The green-haired woman almost choked on her food "WHAT ARE YOU SAYING?" she looked at him angrily.
"I'm just saying that you should tell Okkotsu senpai how you feel about him... and more than well... because of what I saw the other day..." explained Megumi scratching the back of his neck because of the embarrassment of having found those two kissing the other day.
"Forget what you saw the other day or I swear I'll beat you up" Maki threatened with his fist. "Nothing was going on between him and me that time!"
Megumi only showed his palms as a sign of not wanting to fight " It's okay " I didn't want to be that girl's punching bag " I won't say anything... even so, I feel that you should talk to him... and even more that tomorrow at noon he will be leaving the academy to go to Haneda airport"
Maki just pursed her lips as she looked at Megumi. She wanted to say something else to her, she wanted to defend herself, but she knew that that boy was right.
"I!" Maki couldn't say anything more to Megumi, as she was interrupted by an annoying voice.
"Look who's already here!" shouted Satoru excitedly as he entered with Yuta.
"Surprise! Welcome! Happy Trip! Salmon!" shouted Panda and Inumaki in complete happiness as these two approached their companion.
Yuta looked happy for the reception of his two companions "Thanks a lot guys" he said with a big smile.
"Your friends have prepared a farewell party for you, so here we are, ready to say goodbye properly," said Satoru with a big smile and putting his hands on Yuta's shoulders.
"Seriously, this is very special to me..." Yuta slurred his words as he noticed Maki at the back of the room, looking at him in total silence.
