When Harry awoke he noticed the sorting hat sitting at his feet and his curtains were pulled shut. Curiously Harry picked up the hat and placed it upon his head.
"What do you need Lance?" Harry asked of the hat.
"You my young king need to be more careful of the spells that you use. McGonagall went to Dumbledore about the spells you used to transfigure the table. She admitted to placing an anti-transfigure spell upon the table as well. Dumbledore doesn't want you to know about your ancestry passed the Peverell line. He has McGonagall believing that the Peverells are descended from Morgana La Fey, the one as she was based in the tale passed down through the years. I am unsure if she has been spelled or potioned to be loyal to him." Harry sat there on his bed thinking about the situation.
"Was Professor Snape there?"
"No, why?"
"Snape was in the room when I told twelve Slytherins the truth of my heritage. He is also aware I know how to remove that brand from his arm and that all it will cost him is a blood oath to be loyal to House Pendragon." Lance hummed upon his head. I believe it would be beneficial if you were to speak with Filius about this. He is loyal to the king of the Nation. He is here as a spy for him." Harry nodded his head adding speaking to Flitwick at some point today. "Other than those two I would be cautious of the other adults in the castle. Also be mindful of Black and Lupin. Lupin was the first werewolf to attend Hogwarts since the time of the founders."
"I will thank you Lance." With that Lance was taken back to the headmasters office by Misty. Harry arose and went about his normal morning routine. Upon arriving in the Great Hall for breakfast he noticed that Dumbledore was missing as were McGonagall and Moody. Harry just raised an eyebrow before eating his breakfast.
"Any idea where Dumbledore, McGonagall, and Moody are?" Harry asked Hermione.
"Rumor has it that Dumbledore found out that the Moody who had been teaching us all year was a fake. They are currently in the hospital wing with the real Moody and Madam Bones. What so long this morning?"
"Sorry about that I took longer in the meadow before coming in. I am sorry I was not in the common room to escort you to breakfast." Hermione smiled at Harry before turning back to her breakfast.
"Do you need to do anything this morning for the task?" Hermione asked.
"Nope. Just have to do potions and DADA, before dealing with the next clue." Hermione nodded than pulled out her potions book to read ahead for class. It wasn't long before the two were headed off to potions class. It wasn't long before they were joined by the Slytherins and the rest of Gryffindor house.
"Well, if it isn't the traitor," sniped Ron. Harry turned to Ron and just raised an eyebrow. "What to good to talk to others now."
"Actually Ronald, I'm making a list of everything you do and say for my letter to Lord Weasley. So please do continue." Ron grit his teeth but said nothing else. Harry turned back around to see Snape standing in his classroom door.
"Get in. Potter I want you at the table in the far left."
Harry nodded and went to the table Snape had indicated. Looking over the items upon the desk Harry smirked. On the table was a copper cauldron, a glass stirring rod, and some ingredients. These ingredients were wolfsbane leaves, mandrake leaf juice, dragons blood, a moonstone, syrup of hellebore, murtlap tentacles, sopophorous beans, and an occamy egg.
So Snape wants me to brew Wolfsbane. Well let's what he thinks if I brew Merlin's wolf cure. I'm only missing one ingredient for that, but I'm sure I have it in my kit. Harry pulled out his kit and opened it up taking out his mortar and pestle, his potions knife, as well as a lotus and a bear's breech. Setting them to the side for a moment he began working on rendering down the potions ingredients. Snape was watching him carefully, but said nothing when he removed to flowers from the potions kit. Once all of the ingredients were finished Harry began to brew the potion. He ignored that Snape was watching him. It didn't take him long to finish the potion, after all the differences between the two potions was how long it took and the two ingredients.
Snape walked over to look at Harry's Potion, with a raised eyebrow Snape at Harry after seeing that there was light difference in the potion Harry brewed and Wolfsbane.
"Stay after Potter." Snape said then walked away. Harry went about bottling his potion before cleaning up his work station. He also cleaned the cauldron, making sure there were no remains of the potion. When his was after he finished the bell rang signaling the end of class. Harry did as Snape requested and stayed after. "I wish you to explain why you changed the Wolfsbane potion and as to how you managed to do it with no problems."
"Did you know that Merlin had created a potion that helped remove the wolf from a newly infected individual?" Harry asked causing Snape to look at him in surprise. Nodding Harry continued, "the only difference between Merlin's potion and Belby's Wolfsbane potion was the two flowers, Indian Lotus and Greek Bear's Breech. Merlin was unable to test his potion on someone who had been a werewolf for longer than five years, but in all of his tests he was able to remove the wolf. The Wolfsbane plant is toxic to all canines, because of this Merlin added two flowers known for their healing properties."
"But why those two specifically?"
"Merlin had tried to add others, but each time he did the potion would turn into a poison or would explode." Harry said shrugging. "It took him three years just to be able to created the potion."
"It took Belby 15 years to be able to come up with Wolfsbane. How was Merlin able to come up with a potion in such a short amount of time?"
"I believe he once said that time is relative when you have the beginnings of something great. It's just sad to know that someone who can come up with this couldn't continue and figure out the last two items to truly remove the wolf." Harry smirked at Snape who raised his eyes in surprise. Harry was following Lance's advise and trying to tell Snape without fully saying it. After all Snape's classroom door was still open. "Was there anything else you needed Professor?"
"Return here after classes. I wish to discuss a few things with you?" Harry nodded then departed from the classroom heading for DADA.
